If It's Meant To Be, It'll Be (Or Will It?)

Woman Sitting On Chair

So often, when people come to me and say "I'm feeling stuck," they think it's about a particular situation or a specific challenge. They think it's something in the physical universe. But we're going to change the focus and take a closer look at where you're stuck in the sense of your personal energy. And to find out, we're going to test the waters by starting with a question:

Are you stuck in passivity and indifference?

It's an interesting question because when you're faced with a challenge, you don't think you could possibly be indifferent about it! After all, it's eating up all your brain cells as you try to solve it!

But here's the thing. When you're trying to solve a challenge, it's very possible that anger is simmering somewhere below the surface. It's that feeling of "grrrrrrr" as each day passes without a resolution. For many people, it doesn't make sense to let anger build, and so they adopt a "whatever... " kind of attitude. They throw up their hands and say, "If it's meant to be, it'll be."

They become passive. Maybe even indifferent.

But passivity and indifference are even worse than hatred or anger. Why? Maybe because hatred and anger are usually directed outwardly, at someone else. Hatred and anger cause violence, and murder, and even war. They divide continents and countries and people. So they're actually pretty scary.

Of course, if hatred and anger are directed inward at yourself, that's even scarier.

But what if you're stuck in passivity and indifference and you're just going through the motions? This may not seem as violent or dangerous or powerful as hatred and anger. But if you've given up the fight, if you've settled for a life of quiet desperation, that's a pretty dangerous kind of stuckness, too.

That's the kind of stuck where the life slowly seeps out of you, until you've lost all your motivation.

Just like the violence and extremity of hatred and anger, passivity and indifference affect the soul. If you're suffering from this particular strain of stuckness, your soul is probably aching to come alive again!

Here's a way to make it happen...
Ask yourself, what are you absolutely craving?

And no, I'm not talking about ice cream or pizza! I'm talking about that one, giant thing that you want all the way down to your tippy toes? That thing that would put a spark in your soul, if you'd just allow it to emerge?

Passivity and indifference say, "I don't care." But you do care.

So what is it? What would put a spark in your soul? Answer that question, and you're well on your way to inspired motivation!

Your Turn

What I'm absolutely craving is:
