Discovering and Understanding Your Life Purpose

What is it that you're missing in your life? What is it that you'd most like to have? Would you like more love, more freedom, more peace?

In life, we strive and fight in our lives to get whatever it is that we believe we need or want. We reach personal and professional goals and acquire what we can afford. But is that what life is really about? Is that what makes our soul thrive and feel happy? Is it what makes me satisfied and complete?

Look inside you. What are you missing? What haven't you got enough of? What would you like to have more of? What do you dream of having?

If your life ended today, what would you be sorry you never got? What would you miss?

If you dream of having things, what need are those things trying to satisfy? What do they give you? What do they make you feel, power, satisfaction, peace... ? If you dream of reaching goal after goal, what does success mean to you? What does it give you? Those things and goals are your way to satisfy your personal needs and those needs somehow mask what you most desire. Ask yourself, then, what it is that your being most wants, what it is that you crave day after day, what is it that would make you feel complete and whole.

Once you know, why not turn that into your life purpose? Imagine planning your days and actions with that general purpose in mind. Everything you do then has that ultimate purpose. Your life immediately adopts a new meaning. Imagine you choose "peace" as your life purpose.Whenever dealing with others, you will now target peace as the highest goal. Your relationships will have that ultimate goal. And so will your work. And your leisure time. And your everyday actions, And the objectives you wish to reach. And your conversations... If you then ever feel bad for whatever reason, ask yourself: am I still pursuing my purpose or did I go astray from it? Your life purpose becomes your inner compass, your north, your direction to follow no matter what. If you deviate from it, you will feel bad because you will not be aligned with it. Which is the same reason that will lead you to returning to it and resuming it. Once your life purpose is defined, it is much easier to return to it. This step that I'm taking, this conversation that I'm having, this action that I'm undertaking... is aligned with my purpose? Is making me move forward? If not, what do I need to do to change it?

Give yourself the gift of this life compass. Don't you see how your life is changed? Pick your purpose and re-focus your life.

Enjoy life... ALL of it,

How to Determine Your Life Purpose (By Virginia Adams)

In this day and age we hear a lot about finding and following our Life Purpose or Spiritual Calling. For most of us these ideas are preceded and followed by hundreds of question marks. We ask, "How do I know", "How will I know", "Who is going to tell me", "What if I don't hear it right", "What if I don't know how", "Who is going to show me", "What if my Mom (family and friends) disapprove", "Where does this knowledge come from" and on and on and on?

On several occasions I have boldly stated that my current path is a demonstration of me finally following my "Life Purpose". Even knowing and stating this, does not stop the question marks from flooding back in. "How do I know", "Who is going to support me financially as I skip down this lovely little path", "Who and What appointed me to this purpose", and my all-time favorite; "Is this just a "figmentation of my imagination" (thank you Herman "Disney's Mickey and the Beanstalk")?

Today all of these question marks are once again floating around my head which led me to look up the word PURPOSE in the thesaurus. This is what I found, so I will ask myself these questions:

  • Drive? Yes for some inexplicable reason I am driven to continue down the path of Healer, even though it is not an easy task to do in this world. It can be ostracizing and at times in direct conflict with what this world perceives as normal.
  • Determination? Yes I can't seem to stop. I am determined to touch as many people as I can with the message that they are worthy, created in perfection and love.
  • Resolution? Even when this world, my finances and my relationships are in direct conflict, I continue to be resolved to skip down this path.
  • Resolve? Ditto
  • Persistence? Have you heard my message yet? Well then let me find another way to encourage you to see that you are created from the pristine white light of your creator. YOU ARE LOVE AND ARE LOVED!
  • Perseverance? At times I would like to pull the covers up over my head and give up, but this purpose of mine keeps pulling them back down.
  • Tenacity? I think it may just be my middle name, Virginia "Tena-city" Adams.
  • Single-mindedness? One word and one word alone "Love". I have found that if I perceive that something or someone does not vibrate with what I am creating it is OK to let it go. Love or Fear? I choose Love.

Well, for today, I think I may have answered my question marks. Currently my "Life Purpose" path is to continue as a facilitator of Reconnective Healing and a messenger of love through my writing, art and public speaking.

But wait... isn't everything here in this four-dimensional space just a "Figmentation of My Imagination"? Isn't all of this just my story, my imaginative way to return to my innate magnificence, my innate perfection, my inner knowing of the oneness of love? YES! So for now I will imagine that my return to oneness is down this particular Life Purpose Path.

I make the assumption that if you clicked on this article you are currently seeking and searching for a deeper meaning to your life. Please indulge me as I push you with a few more questions. What are you currently creating? What will you allow yourself to imagine? How does it hold up to the above question marks? Finally, are you willing to say "Yes" to your inner guidance, to your inner knowing?

If today you find yourself questioning your purpose or your call to creation? May I suggest that you create a story with your imagination that shows you as Determined, Resolved, Persistent, with great Perseverance and Tenacity. Imagine a story where you have Single-mindedness towards a dream and a reason to exist. Even if it feels unreal or unattainable it is yours to dream, yours to create. Then get busy putting check marks by your question marks. Step by beautiful step you will be gliding down your Life Purpose path. You too have been called to Love, how will you express it in this time and space? I leave you with a simple truth of mine "THERE IS NO DEFINED STORY OF WHO I AM, IT IS MINE TO CREATE"

A Path to the Self - Three Ways to Claim Your Personal Power

The true purpose of power is to transform yourself and your world. A sense of empowerment renews your life purpose. Shame is the demon. It takes away your joy. The healing process involves letting go of shame that who you are and what you do is not good enough.

As a society, we have been raised into obedience and trained for cooperation. We think of power as "power over," based on struggle and opposition. We have lost the sense of our own divine nature and personal power. To change our concept of power, we need to move away from struggle and toward transformation. We must move toward a power that inspires and strengthens us without diminishing others.

Accept yourself as a unique individual and take responsibility for your life.

Before you can engage with the world, you must have a clear sense of yourself as a separate individual. You are willing to be unique and risk disapproval for the integrity of your own truth. To claim your personal power, you must first be your true self. By blaming others you remain passive and irresponsible. Personal autonomy requires that you let go of blame and accept responsibility for your life.

You cannot create change in yourself and the world unless you accept yourself for who you really are. Otherwise you remain trapped in the expectations that society and others have for you. To be a unique individual you must overcome unconscious habits that define you. You must take responsibility for your life and truly claim your personal power. In the process of becoming your own person, you allow the unfolding of your unique journey on Earth.

Look within to know what you really want and need.

Determining the course of your life requires a strong will. You must pay conscious attention to your desires and their expression in the world. The desires of your heart provide fuel for your will. They give it strength and direction. You act with clear intention and not only from whim. You move steadily toward your future and make choices that honor who you really are. You align with your true Self and release your personal power.

During quiet time alone you make contact with your true Self. You discover the longings of your heart. You know your deepest thoughts and feelings. In the midst of life's busyness, quiet time alone may seem an impossible goal. But solitude is not a luxury. It is essential for your well-being. You pay an enormous price for ignoring your inner needs. Desires come from deep within. By following them you access the power of your inner Genius.

Use your mistakes to grow and develop a sense of personal power.

To be thankful for the gift of each new day requires self-esteem. You are willing to meet daily challenges with a sense of trust in yourself. You face life's uncertainties and accept that mistakes will happen along the way. You learn that it is not the mistake but how you respond that matters. Mistakes help you grow in confidence and develop your sense of personal power.

As your power grows, you are able to change and transform yourself. Power exists to help you become who you really are. It is a process not a thing. It allows you to escape the narrow limitations you place on yourself. You transition from past to future. Power expresses the presence of the divine within you. As your power grows, you find your own unique path and create a joyful life experience.

Having a healthy sense of power allows you to approach life with vitality, joy and confidence. You choose a plan of action and move forward to accomplish your goals. Each moment is full of possibilities until you make a choice. Having a life vision guides you in making wise choices. It serves as a catalyst for change. It helps you stay focused on what matters the most to you. You become the powerful creator of a happier, more purposeful life.
