Impossible Dreams Do Come True (By Sergei VanBellinghen)

Assorted Flowers on Table

While some of us still believe that impossible dreams do come true, countless others gave up this right. Over the years, various people tell us to be realistic. Even society says that we all have limits and reaching beyond these limitations is not possible. But I am firmly against that popular belief.
So, how can you overcome your limits? What is being realistic anyway? Can dreams become real?

The thing you must understand is that virtually everything and anything is possible for you to create. If you believe and take the time required to form the necessary skills, whatever you want, do come true. However, you must also collect the essential resources to bring you there.

But the most important elements for impossible dreams to come into existence are the belief in yourself and your abilities to learn. Your beliefs determine your actions which in turn determine your results. So, if you do not believe you can succeed, then you will not reach your visions. Quite simple!

Realistic and Unrealistic
And when people tell you to be realistic, ignore them. In this world, all progress depends on those being unrealistic. The only reference people with limits have is some event or person that achieved something in the past. Those limitations were impossible dreams years before, yet someone realized them.

However, could you imagine what would happen if everyone only tries to achieve what others have already accomplished? I believe the human race would still be at the Stone Age.

So, it is a fact that you and I, all of us are born to brilliance and that success is achievable by anyone. If you read their biographies, most successful people or greatest performers are self-made and not born with a gift. Therefore, the only problem for most people is that, for some reason, they do not believe in themselves enough or for their dreams to come true.

Impossible Dreams Are Possible
If history teaches us anything, it is that when people assumed things are not achievable, some others preserve the impossible dreams alive. Those are the ones who still dreamed, making things possible so that it may come true over time. These pioneers did not listen to anyone who told them to be realistic. If they did, the world today would still be living in caves.

So, regardless of whether society considers it unrealistic, it is the pioneers, the misfits, and the mavericks who make it happen. They are the ones who follow their heart, stand up for an idea and go after it. It is these brave men and women who persistently push the limits of what the world believes possible. As a result, they are the people who end up remembered in history.

"Dream the impossible because dreams do come true." - Elijah Wood
All Can Come True
Playing it safe will bring you nowhere; it is only out of fear and ignorance that people do. In some situations, it may be good to do so. But most successful people will also tell you that you have to take some uneasy risks at times.

And so you have to make a choice, with incontestable belief. You need to give your impossible dreams a 'go,' or things will never happen, or even come true. Sometimes you have to take uncalculated risks to have what you want. You need to see it in your mind and work it into your reality.

And yes, life is like the art of drawing without an eraser. But life has lessons that no one teaches you in school. Instead, the education system makes you learn history by memorizing dates or events but never the real lesson.

A Story about Impossible Dreams
In November 1989, I told my mother that I was leaving for an international competition in the USA, but that this time I will not come back. The day after, I left my mother and my grandparents behind me, not knowing what lay ahead. Waving as I went, I saw her cry for me for the first time.

As we landed on the tarmac in New York, I could see, from the window of the plane, the Twin towers standing out in downtown. The horse vaulting competition took place but right after, taking advantage of a window of opportunity, I defected.

Being from the Soviet Union, I did not know anyone in this new country, had no place to stay or even a job to rely on. I only had a city name on a piece of paper and fifty dollars hidden in my pocket. And I did not even speak English. Impossible dreams you say. Yet I felt my gut tell me: hunt your dream!

Taking the Risk
And yes, I guess I was taking a high risk to make things come true, but I had nothing to lose. Instead, I had maybe a lot to gain. I soon took a bus to Atlanta, Georgia, then another one going south of the country. We were a Sunday, 5.30 in the morning, when I arrived at the little Greyhound station in Camden, South Carolina.

Outside in the cold, I said to myself "What should I do now?" So I decided to walk down the long street I was on called 'Fair Street.' As I was looking at the houses, my eyes flashed on a big white one, with two columns in front of it.

I felt my intuition telling me "Maybe you should knock at the door and ask for help." So after a minute of hesitation, following my feelings, I mustered my courage, went to the door and knocked. A girl wearing jeans came down the stairs. I could see her through the small glass windows of the front door where I was standing.

Man Holding Microphone

When Things Come True
She did not open the door right away but just asked me what I wanted. I could not speak English, so I got my Russian-English dictionary to find the words I desired to express. After a few minutes, I finally succeeded to make her understand that I wanted a job and a place to live. She seemed not surprised at my request.

Afterwards, the door opened, she let me in the hallway with my suitcase and asked me if I had different clothes to put on. But I could not understand her, so she opened my bag to find a pair of jeans. And when she saw them, she gave them to me saying that I had to wear them.

After changing my clothes, she told me to follow her. She asked me the line of work I was in. I said to her that I worked with horses and was a rider. Her face lit and explained to me that she was a horse farm manager. Suddenly, it all made sense. Impossible dreams do come true! I was at the right place at the right time.

A Life Changing Opportunity
We got in her car and during the ride to the horse farm where she worked; she tried to speak to me but without real success. Finally we arrived at a horse farm called "Sandy Dubose Farm." It was a very big and beautiful place where horses grew for horse racing.

My new friend named Mary Smith told me to wait. Then she left to talk to the owner to see if she could get me a job. She came back after fifteen minutes later, announcing to me that I was hired as an exercise boy, a morning jockey if you will. My work was to ride and train horses each morning.

The Horse farm owner loved European horse riders and was glad to have me on her team. My impossible dreams had led me to a life-changing opportunity. Yet, there was more to come. Mary told me that after work, we would look for a place to live, and she had a good idea of where.

Impossible Dreams Do Come True
The house where Mary was living in on Fair Street divided into four apartments. She lived on the second floor but there was no room for me as it was too small. But that across the hall from her lived another girl, Bridget. And as she had a two bedrooms apartment, she maybe needed a roommate to share the rent with her.

So we finished my first day at work, the horses being cleaned and fed, we went to another horse farm. It was where the other girl worked. We found her riding. Bridget was a pretty blonde with green eyes. After telling her my story, Mary asked her if she was interested in having a roommate, and she agreed.

And that is how, in a few hours' time, I got a job and a place to live in the United States. So never give up on your dreams because impossible dreams do come true if you want them hard enough.

You Can Do Anything
People often forget that life gives them countless of possibilities and choices. They are too busy in their day-to-day routine that they lose sight of what they can do if they put their minds to it. Understand that a vegetable seed has no other choice than to become a vegetable. Its fate is locked into that one reality. But you have infinite potential at your disposal. You can do anything you want.

  • Think any thought you desire.
  • Change careers.
  • Learn any language.
  • Travel to any country.
  • Learn any craft or skill.
  • Start any business.
  • Begin any project.

So, do not be afraid to have impossible dreams others think are unimaginable. Start working towards them. Be crazy in your dreams. Plan when you can. But remember that you have to take risks when you can't. To discover your true limits and what can come true, you do need to challenge your own beliefs about what is real or not.

Breakthrough Your Limitations

Today you will learn how you can learn to beat your limitations.

Many people see limitations as something that is constant and unchanging. They see a concrete wall in which that cannot pass. This is the very reason that many people are leading unsatisfied and unfulfilled lives. It is also the number 1 reason that people are not living up to their full potential. Are you living up to your full potential? I can answer confidently that for you the answer is a resounding "NO!". (Otherwise, you would not still be reading this article)

Living beyond your current limitations is possible but only after you identify what those limitations are. There are only two types of limitations in your life. The first is a limitation imposed on you by another and the second type is a self-imposed limitation. These limitations may come in many different forms. They may be belief patterns that you have adopted throughout your life because someone in a position of authority or you admired told you they were true. Either way, you adopted these beliefs about yourself or your ability as truths that now govern your actions and decisions.

Another may be that of time. You may feel there is just not enough time to accomplish the things you think are needed to accomplish your goals. It may be the scheduling that is imposed upon you by your job or family responsibilities.

Finally, you may see a limitation regulated by resources; not enough money, not enough knowledge, not enough connections, etc...

To all of these things, I can speak only one word. Priority.

Does your desire to have something greater than you are currently expressing hold a greater priority in your life than the belief, restriction, or perceived lack that is holding you back?

Here Are 3 Steps That Will Allow You To Overcome Any Obstacle

1. Identify the area of dissatisfaction in your life and determine that you are going to make a change. Dissatisfaction is the birthplace of change. When you zero in on the very specific focus that has left you unsatisfied you are ready to move to step number 2. Do not go there until you can specifically identify the root of your limitation.

2. Make a list of the top five areas that you need to adjust your priorities in to feel satisfied in that area. You can do this by answering these questions honestly.

A. What habits do I have that monopolize my time? What habits can I replace them with to advance me toward my goal?

B. What disciplines do I have in my life that I can improve to free me to achieve success in this area? Are you taking care of your health by eating right, exercising, getting adequate rest?

C. Where is my focus? The focus or attention that you maintain will alter the direction that you go. When it comes to limitations it is summed up in this simple quote, "If you are focused on the limitation you will never see the potential."

3. Believe in yourself. This is a hard step because it requires you to think differently about yourself than you have in the past. Spend some time each day visualizing yourself doing and experiencing something that is beyond your limits. If you don't think you can run one mile, don't imagine yourself running two miles. Fully imagine the sounds, the smells, the sight of what it looks like as you are first to cross the finish line in a 20-mile race. Imagine the joy and exhilaration you feel as those that are dearest to you greet you with shouts of praise and encouragement. Make it so real you can taste the sweat! This is how you begin to believe in yourself greater than you have ever before.

When you believe in yourself you will begin to live like it. An amazing side effect of this is that others will begin to believe in you as well. When others believe in you they will stand by you and encourage you. This momentum created will push you past your limitations.

"To be in a different place, you
must be able to see what that place
looks like. Envision the lifestyle
you wish to have. Until you can see
it - you will not believe it and
until you believe it - you will never
receive it." -C. Nedland

When There Is No Hope Or Chance Left, This Is What You Can Do (By David Samuel)

I have received a comment on the article; How To Find Hope When There Is No Hope Left When I wrote the reply to that comment, I realized that this makes a really good article in itself, so here you go, a great answer for people who think that article is rubbish and not at all realistic. I hope this new version answers many more people in their search to get out of a hopeless or simply 'stuck' life.

There are two ages which we are not acceptable to mainstream workforce, too young and too old. However, with a little creativity, we can overcome these limitations. For example, when I was 12 years old, I understood people like a good deal, and they think they can take advantage of kids. So, I used their greed to put myself in a position to get lots of work, and do a little freelance business at much lower than 'adult' prices.

That got me started in my career as a photographer as I built up enough happy clients who paid less than a quarter they would for an 'adult' and eventually I could raise my prices and build my finances from there. Several young teens have done the same thing.

It's all a matter of accepting the situation and working with it, rather than fighting or complaining about the unfair conditions.

When we are old, we have experiences that we can use in a similar way to create a business for ourself if we cannot get a job.

People are stuck because they cannot see the forest through the trees, as the saying goes. It takes someone looking at them from the outside with enough varied experience and creativity to help them find what they can do on their own to earn some money.

Ethics are the foundation of what is required to open up creativity and build the self-esteem and other qualities necessary to become someone who is in high demand regardless of age or any other factors.

There is a saying in business. The location, the type of business, the funding, and everything else is easy compared to the hardest part of running a good business, which is finding good people to work for you. Maybe you are not as good as you think you are, and need a little polish.

You may have heard this other old saying; 'Necessity is the mother of creation.' The problem is that people tend to think they have tried everything, but that is a rather arrogant saying if you think about it. It implies that you actually know every thing that exists in the universe. Who could honestly say that without it being tantamount to proclaiming being God.

It takes humility and acceptance that just because you cannot find a job or solution, the reason is that you just have not found the right thing yet. So you have to keep looking, or get the help to open your eyes and mind to things you never thought of before.

After saying all this, I think I have come up with the one line that answers the title How to find hope when there is no hope left.

The answer is; to know that you do not know everything and that the answer exists. You just have to keep looking until you find it, have an open mind instead of your fixed opinions, and be humble enough to seek the right help. But before you can do this, you have to let go of your ego and your imagination that you actually have tried everything possible. Basically, you are not as smart as you think you are when you think you have tried 'everything'.

One word of caution about seeking help. If someone makes a living and charges a lot of money to give you advice, they usually do not have very good advice. Just think about this when you go to a coach or mentor. They make a living out of people who are stuck. Therefore, they need you to be stuck so they keep the client. Their main interest is their own income if they work on a set fee so they will give you enough help to feel you are making progress, but never enough for you not to need them anymore.

Find someone who has succeeded so they have proven they know what they are doing, and that they do not have a set fee, but take what you offer or perhaps a percentage of your profits. You need a partner in your success, not someone who makes money whether you succeed or not.

I realized something after being cheated by a lawyer; Never take the advice of someone who will profit from your loss. Choose your guide wisely.

This I Believe: Open Mindedness Is The Way, Closed Minded Thinking Is Not

In this life, there is more to all of this than meets the eyes. Thought, prayer, and actions are not an exception. Let me put it this way, if there was less to reality than meets the eyes, we would still be in trees grooming each others hair and eating raw meat, not, getting ever more and more interesting technologies.

The open mind is the way to go, everything else is just below the open mind just waiting to be made obsolete. What can be conceived and believed can be achieved, all we have to do is light the way beyond the closed mind. Sounds simple enough, until someone whispers or screams "impossible!"

Impossible is a word that says to everything around it "finished, I have found all of the limitations to this." I know that is not reality, because science fiction in yesteryear is coming real today in rational ways. For example, what is a Star Trek communicator device but a cell phone? Or this one: What are three dimensional material printers when they manufacture things? Anyhow, nothing is really or rationally impossible except if we declare it so too strongly. The possible is simply something to grow on to the next level with, not the limit.

I am a strong believer in the genuinely open mind that is open to infinite possibility, and realities beyond the normal. Normal now, when you really think about it, is obsolete later. Reality is fluid possibility then, is it not? It is not a fixed normality that does not change.

So, to "up the pace" of this article, I want to say that thought controls and attracts that upon which it is directed, all possibilities and "impossible" things included. What I mean by that is that even thoughts and ideas have a basis in reality if they can be conceived. I bet the Catholic Church secretly still does not like Galileo Galilei or Nicholas Copernicus too much either because of that reality of ideas, and genuine new realities proved by them through the centuries of evolving reality. But all normality now started as a "strangely new" idea then. That is also my point in this article. Better ideas are the ultimate affirmation of the open mind, staying put with the normal and known are the pet ideas of the closed mind. All we have to do is step beyond the boundaries and there we are in the new and untried, and sometimes better.

How To Have A Winning Mentality

Very few people have a winning mentality, yet the world is filled with lots of individuals that are so talented at different things but never achieve anything. Our body has limitations that our mind does not. We focus so much on what goes on from the neck down that we forget that it all starts in our mind.
Why most people never achieve their goals while two or three percent actually reach a high level of success? What stops them from accomplishment? And how can you have such a winner mindset?

The crucial point to become a person who is a winner in any course of action is to have a winning mentality. We all have the potential to achieve greatness. And yes, you can be that champion who excels by always pushing his boundaries of performance.

But if you are not mentally ready, you are never really physically prepared. The people who take this one action every single day are the ones who achieve their goals and dreams. And they do it more often than anybody else.

To get a winning mentality, it is not giving up at the first sign of a setback. You just got to try everything. And then, you need to try it again. That is the thing; you have to be motivated to at least try. I firmly believe that everyone on this planet has a gift. But it is your job to figure out what that gift is.

A Winning Mentality is Taking Action
Then it becomes your job to decide if you are going to act on it or not. There is nothing you cannot do. It is a matter of setting a focused goal because, without one, you will miss it every time. When you get a winning mentality, you have to pick a target.

And then get the steps along the way and realize that all the resources and all the experts are there at your disposal. But ultimately, it is only going to be tapped if that target is in your heart and soul.

Action is what gives you a winning mentality and changes your all life. But why most people do not take action? The answer is fear. So what do you have to do to get yourself to do it? You got to make sure that you push yourself through by making a decision. The point in which change happens is in the choices you make.

A Winning Mentality is Making Decisions
Every change that you want in your life comes from something simple: a decision. See, a real choice is not like when you say "I will try it and see" because that is not a decision. But rather when you cut off any possibility except the thing you are committed to. Such a winning mentality is like "That is it!"

A decision is the first step. It becomes a war within you because you give yourself no other choice than to do it. Commitment is what comes after you decided and it is to commit for the long term. No matter if it is hard or easy, you are doing it. So it takes you from this moment, and it carries you into the future, even when things are difficult.

When you have a winning mentality, you decide, commit, and resolve to see your dreams and goals through.

A Winning Mentality is Self-Discipline
You should not wait too long; you have to start to build that discipline right now to get what you want. Remember that there are seven billion other people on this planet trying to get this thing called success. Most people think that success is a straight line. They believe that they are going to get out of high-school, get a job, and everything is going to be okay.

It is not how it plays out. Instead, at the moment you decide to be successful, the line begins to get all squiggly. That is what success looks really like. Discipline comes with a winning mentality. It means taking the hard road, the uphill path to do what is right.

"Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment." - Jim Rohn
Most people stop at failure. But we all failed at things. To have a winning mentality is to continue to fail at stuff because it is the most powerful tool you can use. Of course, it all depends on how you use it. And many people are just satisfied with where they are.

A Winning Mentality is Believing
But there is always the next level. Your definition of greatness and what you want to achieve can be entirely different than someone else's. No one intends to be the first because people are afraid of the consequences that come with doing something first.

You cannot be listed as a failure if you are fighting for what you desire. There are two types of people: individuals with a winning mentality that are going to get what they want and the life they dream of, and the people that do not. In which category are you?

There are a lot of people out there that are always trying to improve themselves. They look for the one change that can make all the difference. Yes, they are searching for the one change that will make their dreams come true. But there is not one thing or neither ten things since there is no quick path and no shortcuts.

A Winning Mentality is Being a Warrior

Getting better is not a hack or a trick, or a 'one' change that you need to make. To get better and have a winning mentality is a campaign. It is an hourly, daily and weekly battle. And it is an incessant fight that does not stop against weakness, temptation, and laziness. It is a battle of discipline, hard work, and dedication.

It is waking up early and going to bed late and grinding out every second in between, and every single day. So you have just to start doing it. Take that first step and make it happen. Get out and get after it here and now.

Every one of us is a goals achiever, but very few people think about the obstacles that are there, and them overcoming these barriers. But to have a winning mentality and become an incredible achiever, you have to accept the fact that there will be walls. You also have to teach yourself that you can overcome them.

A Winning Mentality is Improving Oneself
So, you have to do that in your mind first, and then you back it up with a plan. And guess what, you will start to have a winning mentality and become a goal achiever instead of someone who just sets a goal.

If you do not like the way, your life, career or business is, change it. Or if you do not like your body, work on it. If you want to change anything in your life, you have to change first. The choice is yours; there is no right or wrong, it is only when you make the firm decision to take action that things are happening.

People often ask me how to stop the laziness or get rid of the procrastination. I tell them that it all begins in their mind. You might want to have a winning mentality or have a beautiful idea in your head, a vision you hold, but yet you do not know where to start.

Here and Now is a Winning Mentality
The questions flow in your mind: "Where do I start? When is the best time to begin?"

My answer is always the same as I tell people: "Here and now."

Maybe you want to get in a workout program, start a business, write a book, build a house or make a movie. Then you start right here, and when you begin, you have to start right now because the idea is not going to execute itself. The book will not write itself. The weights in the gym are not going to move unless you do.

You want a winning mentality, improve and get better, then stop looking for a shortcut. Rather find your discipline. Find it in your guts, passion, and drive. Finding it, you can. And then you will find your freedom.

The Impact Theory of a Winning Mentality
Here is a hard truth. People do not necessarily want you to succeed. And the bigger your dream, the more people are going to come out of the Woodward to try to stop you. So if you are striving for something important, if you are trying to make real change. Or if there is something in your life that you are absolutely hell-bent to create, you need to understand that you are going to be fighting against something.

Most people are going to be pushing back against you, and it is going to be your winning mentality and ability to hold true to your vision that is going to determine whether you can pull it off.

"You have enemies. Good. It means that you stood up for something at some point in your life." - Victor Hugo
The Winning Mentality and its Opposing Force
That is what people often miss. They somehow want to get through the journey unhurt and somehow hope that with the great change they want to make, others see their vision. You should understand that people will not fall in line behind you and follow you. It is not the way people work.

Having a winning mentality and a vision already puts you in an incredibly rare group of individuals. Being able to see something that other people cannot see, that is the role of a visionary and winner. That is literally interpreting a world that others do not even know exists.

You must understand that when you build something for yourself, you will always have an opposing force. Stay away from those who try to put down your ambitions. Small people always do that. But the really great ones, they make you believe that you too can become great.

A Final Conclusion
So, that is the kind of person you want to surround yourself with, people that believe in you. The kind of people that is willing to stand by you, even if they do not fully understand your dream, yet remain at your side.

You have to be willing to fight because if you are not prepared to do so, you might as well sit down now. Having a winning mentality is standing up and be ready for war. Winners are not people who never fail, but rather people who never quit. So, your level of success is determined by your level of discipline and perseverance. And all achievements begin with you.

The Real Goose That Laid The Golden Egg (Based On A Zen Koan I Once Read And Heard Well)

Once I read a Zen story about a goose in a bottle that got fed until it could not get out except by breaking the whole bottle open including the neck of the bottle. The import of that story is that limitations are what we make them, and when the goose is fed enough to be out, it will be out. The bottle is our circumstances, and the goose represents the consciousness in those circumstances. Before I internalized and understood fully the story, I heard or read it three times: Once from a good friend of mine, hypnotist and author Richard "Dick" Sutphen, another time in a book of Zen stories I took out of the Masao W. Satow Public Library a long time ago which was taken off the active shelves and put into the book sale, which I bought, and the third time before I fully internalized it, I just thought of it the other two times I read and heard it.

When you understand that circumstances and limitations are what you make them, reality becomes fully a game and not a battle, and you do understand how to live sanely without destroying yourself doing it.

What do I mean by destroying yourself living sanely? You see all the "realities" and "facts" of all the suffering, fear, greed, avarice and loneliness in the world, and realize the bizarre and insane game being played by most people, especially the supposed "masters" and "leaders", then realize that it is all nothing really except what we make it within ourselves. What do you think I mean by mentioning that story about the goose breaking the bottle when it is fed too much anyway?

We have a choice. We either outgrow our circumstances genuinely, or we "explode in all the craziness". In short, we either get saner, or go in the opposite direction when we realize what it is all about. I chose to get saner, live in reality, and work smarter, which is a bit of a rarity when you think about all the people who do "go by appearances" weakly instead of genuinely and consciously responding strongly. For, indeed, appearances are just that, appearances. Nothing more, nothing less. So, think of it this way, the reality is within us and not appearances outside of us. Another way to put it: You put yourself in the situation anyway, and with honesty and work, you can get yourself out.

How to Move Forward

It is about breaking your own limitations and outgrowing yourself in order to live your best life. You are not in competition with anyone else; plan to outdo your past not other people. It is your choice. Choose to be the best you can be. Never let your past dictate who you are or what you can accomplish. You can be and do better than you ever imagined if you believe you can. The mind is the most powerful instrument in the universe. If used properly it will do what you choose it to do. Belief gives you faith and faith gives you conviction. Your gift of life was meant just for you. All would like to say at the end of the day "So glad I made it". With faith you will make it through. This process has yet to fail and has a consistency rate of 100 %. Consistency is the key and only focus, effort and drive will guarantee consistency. If you are living in the past you will fail to see the future. Outdated ideologies that keep us divided and will never let us experience life at its finest. No longer can anything or anyone else but you be held accountable for your life. You were given life for a reason and purpose. Experience comes at a cost. Despite your setbacks your victory is closer than you think. You have to put the work in. The seeds have been sown get ready to reap the harvest.

Move forward without any hesitation or procrastination. Time waits for no one and the longer you wait the further behind you get. There has to be a change.
We need to learn to get out of our own way. Only use your energy for things that affect your life positively. The challenges of life can be complex, taxing and hard to overcome, but if you change your perspective of these challenges, you will overcome. Believe that you were born to be a champion. You are actually amazing. Let your words your character and your values stand for something. Let it represent the best of you no less. When you give the all of yourself and the best of yourself, you are paying back the tithe God truly deserves and request. Malachi 3:10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Connect your mouth with your heart and it leads to a path to your soul.

Your blessings will be bigger than any of your expectations. The key is standing on your faith and being about your business. Don't waste your time and energy relying on past fallacies and ideas that were never meant to benefit you. Imagine everything working for the good of you instead wondering what if. Apply your effort drive and resources; spiritual and physical to bring your dreams, goals and imagination to fruition. Connect with those that share your vision. Never underestimate the strength that numbers bring. When those numbers are of one accord it changes the dynamics of any endeavor or situation. The more that is for you the lesser that is against you it's the law of averages. Live to move forward and you will reach your destiny.

Is Rational Thinking Keeping You Stuck?

Most of us live life using rational thinking. We gather the facts and act accordingly. But do you realize that the facts are usually based on what has happened in the past by others that have used rational thinking?

When you think rationally, you are keeping yourself from being open to other possibilities. Now don't get me wrong, I know that rational thinking is appropriate when it comes to the sun revolving around the earth and when you drop an egg it will go crashing to the ground and break. We are talking about something different here and it comes from a place of faith (and not in a religious sense).

You see, we have all been raised by adults that simply "packed our bags for us" meaning, what they said is pretty much what we have grown up believing. This is partly how those false beliefs came to be and how we now have limitations in our life. Remember the old saying, "you have to work hard to get what you want" or "there is no such thing as a free lunch"? It is hogwash!

This has become our rational thinking. It is what keeps us stuck and does not allow us to be open to unlimited possibilities. Why can't there be a free lunch without any strings attached? A perfect example of this is one evening when my family and I were out to dinner minding our own business. A waiter came over to us and let us know that our bill had been taken care of by someone at the restaurant. He wouldn't let us know who it was as they wanted to remain anonymous. No strings attached! Just a free dinner for our family of 6. It was not a cheap bill and they could have paid for a party of 2 for someone else that day, but somehow, we were the lucky recipients of the meal!

My fiancé and I knew this was one of those miracles or little blessings in life but one of our daughters kicked into rational thinking and tried to make sense of it. She was offended. She thought, do we look poor or desperate? Is this a scam and are we on hidden camera to be tricked? No, and we were not having to do something in return. She had such a hard time accepting that "anything is possible!".

Rational thinking closes us off to wonderful things happening in our lives. We think we don't have the right qualifications to get a job, the right connections to build a successful business, or the right looks to attract some "hottie" that we have our eye on.

I am calling you out right now and telling you to let go of the kind of thinking that can (and will) keep you from having the things that you want. If you take nothing else from this writing, remember this: ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!! Start expecting the unexpected and let The Universe / God / Source bring you things that you never thought could happen.

You want that vacation in Hawaii but can't afford it? Anything is possible! You never know how things can come to fruition and as long as you are stuck in rational thinking you are filling in the grid and not allowing something bigger to fill in the gaps. Be open to what could come to you. If you have your eye on a job but don't feel qualified enough, you may come in contact with the right person that knows your work ethics and experience and refers you for that exact job. Keep an open mind.

I have a friend that needed a car for her son and it was not in her budget. Then, one day and out of the blue, a friend in another State called her and told her she wanted to get rid of the car of her late husband and offered to GIVE it to her. No strings attached!

In another instance I wanted to sign my daughter up for gymnastics a couple of years ago but didn't have the resources. Out of the blue, my parents called and asked me to sign her up and they would pay for it. I had never even mentioned anything about this to them.

So, it is time to step away from the rational thinking and open yourself up to a whole new set of possibilities! All you have to do is believe that it can happen.

Here are four tips to help you let go of the rational thinking:

1. Trust - Know there is a power greater than you that wants you to have all that you desire

2. Write down what you DO want - Make a list of whatever it is that you desire. Don't try to figure out how you will get there, just write the end result. If it money you need, don't limit to thinking it has to come from your job.

3. Stop trying to figure things out - Let go of the control and surrender to the fact that if you truly believe you can have it, you will get it. You have been given permission to hand over the driver's seat and enjoy the ride.

4. Be Open-minded - Be open to everyone and everything that comes your way, allowing yourself to embrace different possibilities, opportunities, people, views, suggestions and interests. Keeping an open mind is one of the most difficult things to practice. You need to be unprejudiced, without stubbornness and be flexible at all times.

The Power of Wild Cards

dandelion-seeds-pointed-flower-1452219.jpg

Wild cards deliver completely unexpected changes, many times signaling the derailment of perfectly laid plans. The news they deliver springs from nowhere we were looking. These surprises simply lurk about seeking the perfect opportunity to crash into our lives. When things utterly unknown and unexpected appear on the horizon a change is already in motion. These unexpected events are powerful no matter how the news may appear initially. They frequently signal the onset of 'significant events that create significant change.'

These surprises contain influences that are unpredictable joined with qualities that are uncertain. Our natural instinct is to withdraw from things that create this much improbability, perhaps the reason so many endings are the result of wild cards. What we may be missing is the assurance that the same threads that bind uncertainty unravel as opportunity. Many times ideas that surface in our effort to correct unexpected changes lead us to places were never attempting to go or new heights we never imagined scaling. Wild cards may be the impetus to alter our course and reach higher and look beyond the limitations we have created as boundaries to what we are trying to accomplish.

Successful entrepreneurs, Inventors and the most creative among us are the best evidence of using wild cards to pivot to a more successful plateau. Thomas Edison may be the most famous of these examples as he cast aside his failed efforts to create a hearing aid, freely giving the project to Alexander Graham Bell where it became the telephone. Wild cards may very well be a nudge from the universe to look farther than you can see now, to dream bigger. What appeared to be an ending may be heralding a new and better beginning.

Life is about perception, our ability to correctly interpret what we believe about what we see. Unpredictable events that are the trademark of wild cards force us to look beyond the original plan for in the hope that we can bring things back to where we thought they should be. When we can't do that, the opportunity to apply a change, to take a detour that may lead to a different conclusion is on the horizon. When life presents you with a wild card, especially about something that is important to you, before you accept it as a 'no' look deeper to see if it really means 'not that way.' Something much better may be waiting to enter the scene. Wild cards may be a gift from above!

It Always Seems Impossible Until It Is Done (By Sergei VanBellinghen)

It always seems impossible until it is done shows in its first part that our mind limits our beliefs and potential as to what we believe we can do. The second part, however, demonstrates that people, who push forward, not believing in limitation, contradict the world by making things possible.
Why do you believe things are impossible or possible? Is something that has never been done before means it is in no way possible to realize? How do you reach this possibility thinking?

Many of the things that we take as truth now were considered impossible not so long ago. In a previous time, most people thought it unlikely to take flight, walk on the moon, have a smartphone or be able to see someone on the other side of the world via video.

"So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable." - Christopher Reeve
Impossible and Possible
During my time in the Soviet army, I remember computers being as massive as a room with cards getting perforated while running through to analyze things. A little more than 30 years passed and yet what an astonishing change!

Understand that your personal experiences create your belief system. It crafts what you believe to be impossible and possible. And just because something seems like an impossibility, it does not mean that it cannot be done. Minds are like parachutes; they only work when we open them.

Therefore, I believe that our comfort zone contradicts our way of considering that anything is possible, destroys our goals and stop us from reaching our dreams. All around the world, you can see how many successful people took bold moves to make the impossible possible.

Impossible Is Just a Word
I am sure you have dreams and aspirations; we all do. And it does not matter if they are big or small. What matters is how important they are to you, and how you go about fulfilling and turning them into a reality. If you think it seems impossible, you will keep dreaming, and they will remain just that, dreams.

So, it is sad that instead of experiencing real pleasure and fulfillment of your dreams, you settle for average conditions in your life. You only see how impossible things seem because you create them up that way. And yes, some stuff looks not possible because, in truth, they are tough. Either way, the challenge here is to overcome it and grow.

Pursuing the Impossible
Of course, pursuing a dream that seems impossible is hard work, but you should know that anything is possible with the right amount of belief, hard work, ability, and persistence. You also have to realize the difference between wishful thinking and possibility thinking. The latter is backed up by a plan and actions while the earliest is just a thought or idea.

You and I can dream and imagine great things. But when it comes to taking action, it is where most people fail. They usually come with excuses that it is impossible to realize without even giving themselves a chance to try.

So, to cut a long story short, many individuals disqualify themselves from the race to success before even making the first step. However, the reverse is conceivable for some people. They have an approach and boldness in believing that things are possible for them to achieve, and so pursue it with tenacity.

Making the Impossible Possible
But what is the approach to an impossibility? The answer to that question is to develop, in your own life, the attitude of a scientist or child that discover and learn new things. Try different ways no matter how crazy they may be.

And then you have to experiment things out over and over to progress, move forward and make what seems impossible possible. The crucial element is to form a stable possibility mindset as well as a productive one. Be careful to not slide back into a wishful thinking mode.

Therefore, take actions every day, no matter how small or tiny they are. You have to get away from the belief and thinking that it is not possible. Avoid the negative self-talk such as thinking that you cannot do it or that you are not good enough. And stop believing that the time is not right or that you should have done this a long time ago.

Changing the Impossibility Thinking
From early on as a child or as we reach adulthood, our minds learn to begin accepting impossibility thinking. It often happens from past failures and unfavorable experiences. There is also evidence of peers or real-life examples which seem to show us things seem impossible.

Therefore, you have a pre-installed defense mechanism that rationalizes your mind to think and believe that you are not the one who could make it happen or have not the abilities to succeed. And if you think you cannot, well guess what, you are right.

So today, I ask you and encourage you to accept, embrace and adopt a new version of thinking in your life. You have to admit to yourself that anything is possible until proven beyond a shred of doubt that it is impossible to do.

Tips to Overcome the Impossible

  • Be fearless and remind yourself that anything is possible.
  • Have a scientist or childlike mind to discover and learn things.
  • Believe in yourself and your ability to succeed even if you have not done so before.
  • Go after the dream you cherish regardless of barriers.
  • Write the book you want to write despite the belief of the limitations you have.
  • Acquire and implement the possibility mindset and a growth approach.
  • Start the business you desire by making a plan and taking action.
  • Avoid assuming that something is impossible just based on your previous thoughts and ideas.
  • Realize that what seems impossible is more than often possible to do.
  • Change your state of mind from impossible to possible.

Remember that the enthusiasm and fear of a new challenge sparks an essential incentive and makes the experience worthwhile. The path to success is never easy, yet you should never let circumstances or obstacles restrict you. Instead, use impossible things like a drive to reach higher.
It Always Seems Impossible Until It Is Done
Many people want success but are not ready to make what seems impossible a reality. Success usually comes with a price. If you want something better for you and your loved ones, you may have to let go of one life. It may feel quite comfy now, but it might not advantage you in the long run.

So, if your dream is to be a successful entrepreneur, you have to act and think like an entrepreneur. Even if it means giving up your current job and essential paycheck. When you want something that bad, you have to focus on what always seems impossible until done. And do it without letting anything else distract you.

If everyone thought that things were impossible, there would be no entrepreneurs and inventors who create inventions or make breakthroughs in this world. Just remember that what seems unlikely is a worthy challenge until it is done. And success does not come to the people who only dream about it but to those who will do their best to make their dreams possible.

Why An Attitude Of Gratitude Can Free Yourself

If there is one place where we should be completely free, then it is in our own mind.

We might have limitations in terms of what our bodies are capable of and what we're allowed to do - but our minds should be free to roam wherever we want, whenever we want.

Unfortunately, this is not the reality most of us live in. Very often, our thoughts are dictated by our circumstances and those circumstances are largely out of our control.

This is why we usually find ourselves feeling dissatisfied and constantly wanting to push forward and look at the jackpot in the future, rather than taking time to enjoy the process and smelling the roses along the journey.

And without being too political or philosophical, our capitalist lifestyles, the Hollywood portrayed false sense of reality, and the consumerism culture sometimes reinforce this materialistic nature that can push us further down the rabbit hole.

The simple question to get a reality check is to ask yourself, "Are you happy right now?"

Most of us are constantly in a position of slight dissatisfaction.

We feel as though there's 'one more thing' that could make our lives better and help us to be happier.

Maybe we said we just needed another one million dollar to feel secure.

Maybe we said we just needed to build a bigger better house to be satisfied.

Maybe we said we just needed a better higher-paid job to start loving to work.

Of course, we do want certain things and there's nothing wrong with enjoying material goods for pleasure.

But often, we have been conditioned (or even brainwashed) by the manipulated images from the media or advertising industry that told us what we "NEED" to have in order to be happy.

More money. More games. More clothes. More drinks. More sex. More friends. More holidays. More this and more that.

So most of us work harder to keep up the buying pace, which eventually stressed the crap out of us to accomplish the next thing in order to keep the economical machine spinning.

Let's do a quick exercise together.

Now, take a think about a game you find yourself (or your kids) wanting.

Aren't there Xbox, PlayStation or computer games on your shelf right now that you haven't played yet?

Aren't there free games you could download or free activities you can engage in and have just as much fun with?

Isn't it just marketing messages that are pushing you towards that next game and that next expense?

Likewise, ask yourself if having a billion more would really make you happier.

You can travel very cheaply right now - the problem is probably more with leaving work. More responsibility isn't going to help that!

So how do you make a change and start to be freer and happier right now?

The answer is that you change your focus.

Instead of fixating on what you don't have and on what you want, instead start to fixate on what you already have and what you're grateful for.

This is called a 'gratitude attitude' and it's the fastest route to having a satisfying and happy life.

People often aren't happy not because they want another thing or they lack certain things, it's just because they FORGOT they already have so many things.

Just make a reminder every night to jot down the top 3-5 things you can be grateful for in your journal.

When you start to collecting these little things of the day, you will open yourself up to see an entire new world of abundance.

Try that tonight, and make it a habit for the rest of your life.

Go Big, Go Bold

At most we yearn for the finer things in life such as a majestic promotion at work, an exquisite car, an eccentric project but the question is what you are doing towards attaining your desires. We love to dream yet we all shy away from acting towards that dream. It requires courage to go an extra mile.

We are at most contended with taking baby steps. In fact let me put it this way, the word "Risk" on its own has a different meaning to various individuals. For some a risk is more of an opportunity to progress in life whilst for some when they hear that word it instantly triggers the flight or fight mode. We do not want to cross the border line because risks are associated with failure, double loss and simply put instinctive fear.

We are afraid of taking a risk because we know not how much more we are going to lose after having already lost so much in life but here is another question: How will we ever know what is on the other side when we never allowed ourselves to cross that line? We want to stay within a constricted zone which is limited but what fruits has it brought forth so far. Some limitations that we think we have are merely of our own doing. No one will plough the field for you if you do not set out to seek for one to delegate, no one will harvest if not appointed to.
The point l am trying to drive home is, do something, take the initiative towards seeing that dream come to life.

Go big, go bold, give it your best shot and if it fails, it fails.
After all who said you will always succeed at everything you try out. We all need those knockout blows which teach us to toughen up. I mean only then can we know that next time l need to attack from the left angle, because we took the initiative. Do not be near sighted but rather be foresighted. Success comes to those who are bold, who are willing to take up anything no matter the outcome. After all we can only measure success at times by how many times you fall and get up until you never have to fall.

Don't be afraid to jump from the peak of the mountain, it is a huge risk but fortune does favor the bold. Those that are willing to go out there and give it their all regardless of how it turns out. Dream big but most of all be bold enough to take risks that see your dream come to life.

A lot of obstacles may come our way but what we need is Courage, confidence, perseverance and belief in one's own capabilities. See yourself where you want to be and then start the climb. Even if you are bold, never lose your best accomplice which is patience. A good resolve and patience will comfort you when you reach a rough patch but boldness does not give up. It rather replaces fear with courage, facing the fear just as David from the bible faced Goliath knowing that he who was in him was greater than he who stood before him.

Live a life of no regret, knowing that not only did you try but you gave it your all. Your potential is your confidence, believe in yourself and Go big, go bold.

Have a clear picture of where you want to be, a vision, and set out towards seeing that vision come to life. Action taken differs depending on the intended goal to be reached by every individual be it evangelism, public speaking, leadership role, starting your own company you name it. It is very difficult to implement an action that a certain individual has implemented, what works for him might not work for you. It is easier to take a leap of faith when we believe, when we believe in ourselves. For when we believe, if we fall we pick ourselves up, and soldier on because we have faith in ourselves that we can, it might not be now or tomorrow but some day some time something will definitely happen.

Bad Excuses (By Wilson Horrell)

Image result for being creative

I have bad knees, at least I did. That's why I didn't run. I also had a bad back, which is why I didn't lift weights. OK, maybe the bad back was more for the pain pills, but either way, it was a crappy excuse. I could tell people that I had bad knees from playing football... in high school... until I was seventeen. I thought it was a good excuse and maybe even made me sound cool. You know, maybe I could have people believe that I was some sort of gridiron god who sacrificed the use of his lower body for the glory of the game. There are a lot of us who want this, and cling tightly to it. We all have "bad knees". Either way, my excuses are garbage.

You know who has "bad knees"? Larry Csonka. Martina Navratilova. Jim Brown has "bad knees". Kirk Gibson has "bad knees". Those are people who can use the term "bad knees" as if it is a legitimate medical diagnosis. I will let them slide. They have "bad knees" because it would take a month for them to rattle off all of the legitimate medical problems which they have been diagnosed.

Yours truly? Well, his diagnosis is more along the lines of overall laziness, denial, delusion, and unwillingness to sacrifice some discomfort in order to become a little more physically fit in an effort to enhance the quality of his life.

The reality is that I truly believed myself to have bad knees and a bad back. Society reinforced this by accepting such lameness. People are more than willing to shake their head and give you a sympathetic pat on the back. Sure, my knees were sore after years of playing a contact sport, but that was not an excuse to not use them again for the rest of my life. Lots of people play contact sports, who suffer far worse injuries than I ever did... they just choose not to dwell on them for the next couple of decades.

Yes, it hurts when I run.

Would you like to know why?

Because physical activity is uncomfortable, and progress requires discomfort.

Yes, my back hurts when I squat, or deadlift.

Would you like to know why?

Because I have mobility issues in my hips, and I am unwilling to take the time to do the proper stretches and mobility work required to correct the issue. Stretching is not sexy, and I want to spend my time doing the grunting, meathead movements that appeal to me. But, to say that any part of my body is "bad", without having, at the very least, a long string of hard to pronounce words with a Latin origin, is an excuse, not a reason.

I hear this so often. We all do. We all know a dozen people with a "bad back" or "bad knees", but we know far less with a clinical diagnosis, prognosis, and physical therapy plan to help correct the issue. We have become so accustomed to surrender. We just accept these physical limitations as truth, and prepare to lay down and die.

Now, I am not saying that everyone, or anyone, should run, walk, bike, swim, or lift weights. What I am saying is that if your excuse for not doing any of these things is because you have a "bad ____" that "hurts when I ____", you are making a poor excuse.

Here are some perfectly acceptable reasons, which I don't view as excuses. They are honest and valid. They are based on opinion, and I have no problem accepting honest opinions, my problem is with delusional excuses... which I have many.

"I don't exercise because it sucks."

"I don't CrossFit because I think you are all the highest level of douchebags on the planet."

"I don't run because I have better things to do with my time than experience heavy breathing, raw nipples, chafed thighs, and overall discomfort for the sake of shaving off a few minutes from some 5k time."

"I don't swim because I am a land dwelling mammal, who has not the least desire to strap on an ugly water cap and goofy looking goggles."

"I don't bike because I don't want to cruise around in a pack of egotistical goobs that look like uncomfortable alien people."

I can accept all of these as valid reasons. My point is not that everyone should exercise. My point is that I played the same tape through my head, over and over, for a period of years, and eventually I whole-heartedly believed the bullcrap that I was manufacturing. People have real issues, with very real limitations. However, I think there are many, many more people who just want to believe what is most comfortable.

Yes, running can make your knees hurt when you get old.

You know what else will make your knees hurt?

Old age. Carrying 300lbs worth of cheetos in your tits and lovehandles.

Yes, lifting can be hard on your back.

You know what else can give you back trouble as you get older?

Old age. Laying on a couch or recliner during every moment that you are not hunched behind a computer screen. So will carrying around a few hundred pounds of assorted gas station chicken tenders, jalepenos poppers, roller foods, and ordering enough cheese-bread and pizza that you send your delivery boy a graduation gift.

If you sing tenor in a roof-raising choir and you have a chronic sore throat, you don't tell people that you have a "bad throat". If you're lead guitar in a badass rock band and you can't feel the tips of your fingers, you don't tell people that you have "bad fingers". If you are a passionate writer who becomes dizzy and can't see the screen, you don't tell folks that you have "bad eyes". If you are a horsepower addicted mechanic and you can't grip a wrench, you don't tell people you have "bad hands". Hell no, you don't. You get down to causes and conditions. You won't accept a vague, blanketed excuse. You become willing to visit every doctor, lawyer, and Indian chief you can find within a gas tank from where you live.

I don't trust me. I'm not asking you to, either. I'm grateful to have the self awareness and willingness to look at my bad reasoning and identify these as excuses. There are plenty of reason to not do things that I can accept, but if I am falling under the delusion of a poorly placed excuse, well... I have peeps for that. I have community. I have people who listen to my thoughts, my strategies, and my motives. These people are who I rely on to keep me grounded, honest, and in somewhat of a realistic state.

Give that something a try. Try that thing in spite of the limiting factor, which has been holding you back for all these years. Through years of life, hardship, and personal growth, that limiting factor might have reduced into a hiccup or dissolved entirely, because you are stronger person now. Take that chance.

Try that thing.

The Secret to Transcending Limitations

As life pours itself out in the stream of passing time, and we run into challenges seemingly greater than our ability to answer -- each of these encounters "asks" this question of us: "Are you willing to change who you have been in order to realize a higher possibility of yourself?"

And though moments like these trouble us because of their uncertainty, here's why we should be very grateful for their continuing appearance in our lives: this unwanted experience of realizing our limitations is the only way life can ask us if we wish to go beyond them. So this unknown moment of not understanding (what is to be) is actually the beautiful seed of a new order of our being, providing we're willing to see it as such.

Unfortunately, most of us automatically resist the unknown. Whenever we can't understand the nature of some unwanted situation we fall, by default, into the hands of a nature whose answer to this ache is always the same: get negative and then try to protect ourselves from anything that can't be otherwise controlled. The rest takes place in us on automatic pilot: in the wink of an eye, we begin to see the "way out" of our situation: blame him, fix that, fight or flee.

But here's what we don't see: in that moment, our guiding light is a dark reaction dedicated, in one way or another, to avoiding what that moment came to give us. This false nature takes what was a celestially planned event -- for the purpose of our further spiritual perfection -- and turns it into a dead end.

Time and time again interior trials such as these return to help us see one thing: we can't get past them as long as we remain who and what we have been -- because who and what we have been is what we are meeting in these same moments! Another way of stating this same insight is startling: resisting what life shows us -- not wanting those moments wherein we're invited to see the truth about our present level of self -- ensures they will return again! This is the interior meaning of reincarnation: the re-creation of self through resistance to the negative effects of its own manifestations. It doesn't have to be this way. We are meant to rise above creation, not repeat our life through it in ever-descending cycles.

There's only one way for us to transcend the limitations of our present nature. First, we must see this one great fact: these limitations don't belong to us any more than the clumsy body of the caterpillar belongs to the butterfly liberated from its husk. Then, we must act on this new understanding by daring to let go of any part of us that wants us to embrace its limited view of life as our own.

True freedom is not an achievement; it is our awakened relationship and participation with the genesis of real life. We cannot create a life without limits by trying to overcome what we think stands in our way. Real limitless living is the fruit of this higher understanding: what is in our way is part of the Way. To know this is to know that all of creation has been made for you, just as surely as you have been made for everything that happens to you within it.
