Message From the Universe: Look at the Bright Side

"Sometimes, when you're feeling your lowest, the real you is summoned.

And you understand, maybe for the first time ever, how grand you are, because you discover that vulnerable doesn't mean powerless, scared doesn't mean lacking in beauty, and uncertainty doesn't mean that you're lost.

These realizations alone will set you on a journey that will take you far beyond what you used to think of as extraordinary.

There is always a bright side,
The Universe"

I will not sugar coat for you in any shape or form. You will feel depressed, angry, stressed, anxious, frustrated, wanting to give up every single day of your life and not wanting to deal with this hell ever again. You will feel vulnerable, scared and uncertain as to where you stand in your career and your life. Your journey will have plenty of ups and downs, you will get diverted many times and depending on the type of people you interact with every day, you will come across some nay-sayers where they may try to discourage you from accomplishing your dreams because of the jealousy towards you. You will feel at times to give up, to ask yourself: "what's the point of all that?". Let me tell you what is the point to all that. First, what is YOUR alternative? Working 9 to 5pm? Will that make you happier? If it does, by all means, go for it. However, always remember that you started entrepreneurship because you REFUSED to just be the 9 to 5pm corporate worker to live your life with anticipation of retiring from your hell job. Don't tell me this is what you expect out of life right? Second, well, you just know what you want for you to go out there and get it.

I can tell you with certainty that you will fail, and probably many times prior to succeeding. You will fail more than you can ever expect, and that is because the Universe want to make sure that you have what it takes to make it big on Earth. You want to be perceived as the one who is self made millionaire, that NO money were given to you and worked diligently to create your empire. This desire resides from within and no one can take this away from you. You are born with that strong mind that NO one can break, and that you will do whatever it takes to make things happen. You will fight for what you believe, and you will not let life break you down, nor keep you there permanently. You will stand back up and hit back, hit harder than you ever hit before, and you will get punched many times again but you will take these punches and smile back at life and ask: "That's all you got?". Life will eventually get tired to punch and will let you do what you deserve, which is to take whatever the HELL you want, and you will experience a rush of excitement that couldn't be compared to ANYTHING in life. Get ready my friend, you time has come! It's your turn now, prepare yourself for one exciting ride.

Message From the Universe: Show Your Love for What You Do!

"Approach everything you care about as if you really, really mean it.

And I really, really mean it -
The Universe"

Be passionate, be compassionate and put love in everything you do from this point forward. People get discouraged too quickly when things do not go their way, either at work or in their personal lives. Once discouraged, they lose that passion from within and it shows clearly in the way they interact with others. It's not abnormal to feel this way when you invest so much time, energy into something and it doesn't pan out. You lose hope and desire to continue putting in so much effort not knowing for certainty the outcome of your investment. There is never any guarantee in life, either it being relationship or venture. However, the ONLY thing that you can control is HOW you put in the energy that is required to increase the probability of a positive outcome. If you feel down, fake it until you make it big. Smile, find things you can do that make you happy and I can assure you that your mood will change. You will not feel depressed any longer because you will find new ways to change your perception and interpretation of the negative things happening in your life.

Look into yourself for a minute and see what you are feeling, at this moment. Are you happy? Are you depressed? Do you feel alone? Do you feel discouraged or disinterested about work or business? How are you dealing with your emotions? If you see a problem, are you willing to change things around? Are you going to take action? What are you willing to do today to make things be different for tomorrow? OK then, you have lots of questions to answer, so get to work! Pronto!

8 Things Happy People Do, But Rarely Talk About

Introduction

Most of us like to think we are fairly happy people if we have nice clothes to wear and a costly vehicle to commute with the family. However, deep down, we might not necessarily be feeling happy about that. When we have an element of repetition in our lives, it is easy to feel depressed about the life that we lead. So what are the secrets of the happy people? What are they doing to get the most out of life while the rest of us watch it pass by? Let us see 8 things that people who are happy in life do and don't keep talking about.

  1. Learn to Share: There is a famous adage which states that happiness comes from giving things to others, not from getting things from others. When they live in plenty, they give what they have to others so that they get happiness in sharing.
  2. Avoid Drama: Happy persons focus on things at hand and try to do things that they need to do. Others get caught up among distractions trying to find out who said what to whom. In the end, they forget what they need to do to safeguard their lives.
  3. Contentment: They take note of what they have and become satisfied with that. This ensures that they are happy and peaceful in their lives. This state of mind helps them to concentrate on what they can do to improve their lives.
  4. Remain Optimistic: When things go awry, happy people remain unshaken. They take positive things that have come in their lives and march forward. They are optimistic about the future.
  5. Value Relationships: Happy persons concentrate more on developing relationships with others, instead of going after money and advancing their careers. This way they stay cool and contented. The relationships come handy when there is a need.
  6. Self Assessment: The secret of being happy lies in accepting where we are in our lives and making most out of our current strength.
  7. Focus on Experience: These people give more value to the experiences they have gained in their lives. New clothes are great, but it is hard to get as much enjoyment out of a sweater as you get out of scuba diving near the Great Barrier Reef.
  8. Follow Passion: They remain passionate in their lives and learn to live without any fear of failing. They look for chance in each and everything that comes in their lives to gain more experience.

This Is How Gratitude Can Help You Cope With a Difficult Time in Your Life

"I am sorry; your mother has passed away"

"We have a diagnosis and can confirm that your child has Autism"

"Your baby was deprived of oxygen during his birth. He will have many disabilities."

Life. It's unpredictable and full of surprises. You seem to have it all planned out, and then suddenly, and without warning, something happens to remind you that there are no guarantees about anything.

Sometimes it's good news and you are pleasantly surprised. Other times, you have the kind of experience that turns your world upside down and you're not sure what to do next. It comes on so quickly and you can't think straight. You didn't prepare for it, nor did you predict it would ever happen.

Emotions like fear, anger, disbelief, and confusion can quickly take control of your entire being. You may feel depressed, alone and uncertain. Overcome with strong negative emotions, you may not recognize the support from others and you may blame them for not doing enough.

Amidst the chaos and confusion, there is one thing that can help you to feel more positive and hopeful. That one thing is gratitude. Simply, being thankful. It doesn't cost money, it doesn't take a lot of time and it is accessible each and every day, yet it is one of the most under used tools that we have available to us.

The principle of being thankful and appreciative for what we have has been around for many years and is gaining momentum as an emerging science. From psychologists and mental health experts to Oprah, gratitude is rapidly becoming recognized as a key ingredient for overcoming trauma and grief.

Deepak Chopra, M.D. and alternative medicine advocate, believes that, "by practicing gratitude, our well-being is automatically oriented toward greater health and balance." Writer Amy Morin discovered that a study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology (2003) found that gratitude was a major contributor to resilience following the terrorist attacks on September 11. Recognizing all you have to be thankful for - even during the worst times of your life - fosters resilience.

There is no denying that when you are going through a difficult time, you are angry, frustrated and sad. Feeling thankful isn't on your mind.

How can you practice gratitude when you are heartbroken or stressed?

Here are some things that I have discovered through my own experience and from others I have met along the way.

Discover Purpose and Meaning

Instead of looking at the negative, gratitude can empower you to see the opportunities in your life. While you are going through a challenge, gratitude helps you to think about all of the things you are learning. You appreciate the possibilities rather than the obstacles and you are able to find purpose and meaning in your circumstances.

When I was asked to become a committee member for our local children's services planning group, I remember feeling very thankful. From the first meeting I attended, I realized that I had something to offer. As a parent of a child with multiple disabilities, I was exhausted and under a lot of stress however sharing what I had learned and knowing that it would make a difference for other families, was a step toward understanding a broader purpose in my personal situation.

Value Your Physical and Mental Health

According to many experts, approaching each day with gratitude can change our mindset, your perspective, and even your body chemistry.

Adam Anderson, a neuroscientist at Cornell University explains that "positive emotions activate neural circuits related to novel, creative thought processes." They allow you to take on new perspectives." His findings also describe that feeling grateful has a compounding effect. The more times we express our thanks; the more positive memories we build up.

In her article from Maclean's magazine in August 2015, author Cathy Gulli refers to a recent study published in the journal Spirituality in Clinical Practice. "The results of the study found that people who scored high on a gratitude assessment test experienced better mood and sleep, more confidence in their ability to maintain their cardiac health, less fatigue and most stunning of all: blood analysis of the patients revealed gratitude was associated with lower inflammation in the body."

I was always so thankful for the one hour each day when I would go for a run or a long walk. It was my time to unwind and do something that was important to me. Whether it be exercise, joining a club or having coffee with a friend, do something regularly that is important to you.

Foster Healthy Relationships

It's no secret that maintaining healthy relationships takes commitment and dedication. The stress of the daily grind can certainly put a strain on sound partnerships and alliances. It's easy to see the faults of others, especially with the added pressure of a challenging situation. Tension within the relationship is bound to increase. If you approach your relationships with gratitude, you will be able to recognize all of the positive qualities in your partner, family member or friend. By simply expressing thanks to another person you bridge the gap between the two of you. If there are broken relationships, gratitude may be the first step toward erasing old grievances and forgiving petty differences you may have been holding onto.

Build Trust

Furthermore, open and honest communication is extremely important during stressful times. Too often people protect their feelings by not communicating, for fear of rejection or having their emotions exposed. Dr. Chopra believes, "gratitude helps to reduce feelings of insecurity, vulnerability and fear."

You may believe that sharing your feelings with your partner may create additional stress for them. Talk openly and honestly and don't be afraid to express your emotions. This will help to strengthen trust, foster growth and increase empathy.

Create Abundance

"I need more help!" is frequently expressed by people going through a traumatic situation. "There isn't enough nurses." "My child needs a better teacher." "Where is my family when I need them?"

Inadequacy, shortage, isolation and deficiency. These words represent scarcity and speak to what is lacking in your life. Instead try to pay attention to what you have in your life. My parents helped a lot. Quite frankly, we coped so well because of their unconditional love and assistance. My sister-in-law and her family would visit every weekend. My closest friend called me every day. My brother-in-law held our son and sang to him while he was an infant in the hospital. The director of my son's preschool initiated a move to help us get more in home support. At the hospital, there were some great nurses and some not so great. Some teachers were better at classroom inclusion than others. For the situations that were not very supportive, I would let them know. It is your responsibility to let them understand your point of view so that they can make a change for the better.

Gratitude helps us to feel abundance. The more grateful you are, the more your life is supported because you recognize the generosity in others. Instead of feeling alone and unsupported, you notice what your friends and family are doing for you, rather than what they are not doing. You recognize the knowledge, support and guidance offered by professionals rather than their inability to change your situation

Uncover Peace and Acceptance

After enduring a plethora of emotional ups and downs, there will be a time when you realize that you cannot change or "fix" your situation. With gratitude, you will discover the determination and the strength to make it a positive experience. Through your acceptance, you can help others in a similar situation and help them to feel more optimistic and encouraged.

Dr. Amy Morin, psychotherapist and author, sums it up nicely. "As our self expands through gratitude, our concerns, anxieties, and insecurities become small and insignificant, while our experience of joy, freedom, beauty, and compassion continues to grow. Simply take a few moments to focus on all that you have - rather than complain about things you think you deserve."

Daily Practice

The power to discover the things in your life that you are thankful for, lies with you. Start a daily gratitude journal. Look around and list the things and people for which you are thankful to have in your life. Carry it with you and be aware of each moment when something happens that makes you feel grateful and write it down. This will help you to realize that despite the difficulties, there is a lot of love, support and positive energy around you.

5 Ways to Recover From Terrible Failure

Angry, Mad, Upset, Person, Young, Woman, Isolated

Failure can cause one to lose confidence and motivation. Failure can sometimes wreck havoc on our emotions and make us feel depressed. What is worse is that after failing most of us do not always wish to try again because of the negative emotions that we feel. Failure makes us avoid trying again. This can happen on a conscious and unconscious level. It is thus important that you manage what you perceive as failure well in your life to ensure that failure doesn't affect you on an unconscious level and affect your future performance as you try and achieve your goals. Some of the emotions that we experience that affect our ability to take action to create the outcomes that we seek are due to past failures. These emotions may include fear, self-doubt and a lack of confidence.

I have developed a few ways that you can use in your life to recover from failure and heal yourself so that your past failures do not affect your future performance. Here they are:

1. Manage emotions using acceptance

What we perceive as failure can cause us to have a lot of emotional strain. We may experience emotions ranging from anger to sadness and resentment depending on what the situation is. After failing it is not always possible to keep these emotions from affecting us. To recover from failure and keep these emotions under control you need to use acceptance. You need to accept that things did not go well and that there might be consequences to be dealt with from whatever that has happened. Depending on the situation, consequences as the result of failure might vary -; you might be criticised, you might be held accountable, you might have lost money, you might lose your self-confidence, you might lose your job or business. Whatever it is and whatever the consequences are, drive yourself towards acceptance because this is the only way in which you will better find creative solutions to the challenges that you might be facing. It is tempting when we face challenges to dwell on the emotional pain, to think and go over what ifs but ultimately we have no choice but to make decisions and act if we are to change our circumstances.

2. View failure as an isolated incident not an inclusive incident

In our lives sometimes we have what I call "cross contamination". When one area of our lives isn't working as well we wish it could, the unhappiness and emotional strain that we experience from the area which isn't working well gets carried across other areas of our lives. We begin to feel like nothing else in our lives is working. Cross contamination causes us to carry emotional strain from work or business to our family lives and ultimately to our health and well being. The opposite can happen as emotional strain from our family lives can sometimes extend to our workplace and ultimately our well being depending on how we respond to the problems that we face.

You need to view the specific failure that you are recovering from as an isolated incident in order to stop this from straining other areas in your life. This is not easy to do as sometimes having a bad day at work can mean a bad evening with the family or vice versa. However, if you learn to better manage your emotions and isolate problems in various areas of your life, you might be in a better position to prevent emotional strain from one area of your life to cross contaminate all other areas of your life. This can only be done through improved self-awareness and emotional discipline.

Sometimes failing in a specific area can make you feel as if you failing at everything. You need to be aware that failure in a specific area in your life doesn't mean that you will fail on every other area. So see each failure as specific and not inclusive.

3. View failure as feedback from your specific actions

After following step 1 and 2 above you should begin to be in a better emotional state to think constructively about what went wrong and what has not worked well to cause the outcomes that you did not want. With this improved emotional state you should now use failure as a learning by analyzing what really went wrong and what actions you could have taken to improve your results. Most failures are due to a lack of planning, processes that did not work well, unforeseen circumstances, failure to be pro-active and so on. This is now time for you to diagnose what didn't work with clear emotions and an open mind. So assess what went wrong and identify things that need to be improved for you to create better results in the future.

4. Commit to new actions

After diagnosing your failure and receiving feedback from it you need to commit yourself to new actions in order to fully recover from your failure. Ask yourself what you will do and no longer do as a result of the feedback you received from your failure then commit yourself to new resolutions. You can list things you will do such as early planning, better communication, improve processes etc. Listing things that you will no longer do that might have caused you to fail is as important. So also list things that you will not do in the future such as procrastinating, avoiding administrative work, communicating poorly and so on.

What is important to note is that committing to new actions will also give you an emotional boost and hope. Often when we are in distress just thinking of the next practical step to take is enough to help us have hope for better future results.

5. Remember your past successes

Remembering things you did well in the past can help you gather strength to recover from immediate failure. Have things worked well in the past? Is there historical performance that you can look to and be proud of? if so, list these great achievements and performances and make them more prominent in your mind. Remember how you felt when things worked well and rekindle these feelings to gather strength to overcome present challenges. This will help you regain your self-confidence as you plan how to better deal with the future.

Imagine what your life would be like if you had self-confidence and did not hesitate to act and create all the outcomes that you want in life. Picture yourself believing in yourself and becoming exactly who you want to be. A successful man or woman who is happy doing things that he or she loves and has great relationships. No more would you have to suffer from second guessing yourself and taking the back seat, criticizing yourself or enduring the pain of those that criticize you and do not appreciate you...
