Putting Together The Puzzle of Life

There are many challenges which come to each person in the game of life. While it is true that life is a puzzle which needs to be figured out, we can make a success of it. We need to take each piece at a time and put it in the proper place. In order to improve one's self and find happiness in life, the puzzle pieces need to fit.

When we start out in life, we don't have all the pieces to the puzzle. Sometimes we get puzzle pieces which are difficult to figure out where they go. New pieces might not fit into the puzzle, but eventually it may all come together to create the answers.

Memories and love are pieces of the puzzle. Love brings happiness. When we do things that have meaning in our life, we can place them into our memory. These memories help to bring joy in remembering the good times which happened. They help to make a good puzzle picture and create happiness.

When Americans of Japanese heritage were placed into the American concentration camps of World War II, their experiences of incarceration created some bad memories. Although the camps did not contain the horror of the concentration camps where Jewish people were held, tortured, or even killed, these American camps were places where innocent individuals were imprisoned for no reason except their ethnicity because of racism. The Constitution did not protect these American citizens who were unjustly persecuted.

The memories of those years spent in captivity brought unpleasant pieces into the puzzle of their lives. They were often challenged beyond imagination as they languished in unsavory conditions of living for years. Some of the people could not endure the trials they faced in being suddenly removed from the normal society and losing nearly all their earthly possessions as well as their freedom. Their lives had little meaning at that time.

It is up to us to put together the picture of our lives. We need to look upon each puzzle piece as a part of the whole. Life can be meaningful and beautiful, but sometimes it seems that the pieces of the puzzle will never fit. The hardships and trials which come into every person's life can be overwhelming. The puzzle seems unlikely to ever come together in a satisfactory manner.

Hard work and perseverance are required to make the pieces of the puzzle of life fit together. The Japanese Americans who endured the pain and suffering of the egregious incarceration of World War II were required to work hard after their release from the camps in order to try and recover the losses of those years. They needed to start over to try and piece together the puzzle of their lives. It was not easy, but most of them did not give up when the going was rough. They persevered and kept working on the puzzle.

The puzzle of life can become a beautiful picture, but it takes a lot of effort to bring the pieces together properly in order to create a good life. We must not give up when challenges come, and we need to have faith that things will work out to put together the puzzle.

You Will Never Succeed More Than You Fail And That's A Good Thing

We Will Never Succeed More Than We Fail

How do you define success? Think about your answer over the overcoming paragraphs, since our thoughts about success may not be entirely accurate. For example, most people believe success is about winning and fewer failures, where in fact it is the opposite.

I was watching the American television presenter Steve Harvey, recently who said: "I have failed far more times than I have succeeded. You will never succeed more than you fail... That's just not how it works. I've pitched over 200 show ideas in Hollywood, out of those 200 they have picked 5 in 33 years of pitching."

So what Harvey is telling us is that his success rate within the last 33 years of pitching ideas to Hollywood is 2.5%. Yet, he is one of the most successful television presenters and comedians, with a net worth of $200 million USD.

To present a similar example, consider the following quote from the basketball legend Michael Jordan: "I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times I've been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."

Are you getting the sense that success is not about repeated wins, but not giving up until we achieve our goals or dreams? How about you? Have you experienced success that changed your life?

I'm not talking about fame or financial windfalls but the success we experience with our health, relationships, career or finances. The one common denominator, as Steve Harvey points out, is that we will never succeed more than we fail; and that's a good thing. We've got to be working away at our goal, to have any chance of achieving success.

Failure Sharpens The Saw Of Our Character

In a recent documentary hosted by David Attenborough, a pride of lions living in Africa were followed by a camera crew over twelve-months. In it, he mentions a lion will fail 9 times out of 10 when hunting prey. A lot can go wrong during a kill, which forces the lion to abandon the hunt.

Therefore, it must try more often in order to feed itself and the pride. Success is the same where it requires commitment and perseverance to achieve our goals. Even then, there are no assurances we will prevail. It takes a strong mindset to achieve success. If we experience repeated failures and setbacks, it can affect our self-esteem.

Have you experienced this with a goal, whether it be personal or professional? It is my experience coaching people over the years; it is rare to meet someone who has the resiliency to keep going in the face of defeat. We need to have a powerful vision for our life, if we want to achieve success. Chances are, the failures and setbacks will stop us in our tracks if we are not committed enough.

To paint another example, the Navy Seal BUD/S program is designed to weed out those unfit to serve on the front line. The attrition rate is 80% and higher, and that is just the selection process to get into the program.

The attrition rate is high because the program aims to select those who are mentally, emotionally and physically skilled at frontline warfare. I appreciate our lives are not as demanding as the Navy Seals program, but success also has a high attrition rate because of the resiliency required to succeed.

According to the American author Stephen Covey, failure sharpens the saw of our character because it boosts our personal growth and resiliency. Covey spoke of the need to establish strong habits, and hence why he called it sharpening the saw.

Success Leaves Clues

Are you getting the sense that success is about who we become, which determines whether we succeed? Zig Ziglar said: "It's your attitude, not your aptitude that will determine your altitude." Those we regard as successful have accumulated a lifetime of personal growth to get to where they are.

When I read their biographies, the common denominator is the setbacks they experienced, such as repeated failures, delays and insurmountable odds to reach the pinnacle of their field.

The thing that stands out the most is their strength of character and the resiliency upon which they create their life. We must fail and fail often, if we wish to achieve any form of success. Moreover, we must examine our failures to see whether we are growing in proportion to them.

However, we mustn't consider ourselves a failure because failing is not indicative of our self-worth. Failure is a signpost we are trying and the more we try, the greater our chances of succeeding. It bears repeating: we've got to be doing the work to have any chance of success. We've got to be in the arena doing the gritty work no one sees or will praise us for.

Knowing this, I invite you to consider an area of your life where you are hoping to succeed. What do you think is holding you back? You might say economic conditions, the Coronavirus pandemic, or something else. May I remind you Jeff Bezos' wealth grew by $90.1 billion during the pandemic. Bill Gates and other notable billionaires' personal fortunes also grew during the pandemic.

The point I wish to make is that even during a global crisis, successful people thrive and we can use that to propel us forward. So, take out your journal and write 3 to 5 recent failures you experienced, whether personal or professional. What have you learnt from them? Write how you can use the growth to succeed in the future?

There's a well-known quote attributed to Tony Robbins who said: "Success leaves clues." So what clues is success leaving you? Could it be that your failures are sharpening the saw of your character? Journal your answers and take an introspective look within yourself, to see where the opportunities exist. After all, you will never succeed more than you fail because life shape us into the person we wish to become, when success finally arrives on our doorstep.

The Wall Of Frustration For One Person Is The Perseverance Factor For Another

Scientifically, perseverance is everything. Talent is a reality, but it does not count as much as perseverance or persistence. Bluntly, I say, responsibility is power, especially for yourself. In this game of life, we can try to cheat, but in the end we only cheat ourselves because we know fully what we did that we seemed to escape from. The ultimate wall of frustration is not to have that perseverance that does not recognize failure genuinely.

The rich and powerful get more rich and powerful, because losing is not genuinely accepted in the mind and cheating is not an option either. Mistakes, and weakness are simply training for perfection and strength.

The ultimate check and balance is honest persistence and real perseverance, if we do not have those two things we cannot achieve anything in life genuinely. The genuine wall of frustration then is to want ease and luck to be the law instead of what really is the law, work and persistence.

Oh, yes, cheating looks fun until you catch yourself genuinely and unrealistically even in the most "unbeatable" cheating situation. Sure, you can "get away with everything in the eyes of others", but what about yourself, that is the difference that counts, you cannot beat yourself ultimately.

If you want to genuinely climb to the mountain top, you cannot use the helicopter or chair life, it will never be the same as genuinely climbing. Reality has to be genuinely and persistently lived, and talents must be developed to genuinely get anywhere. I remember when my Dad told me about patience, understanding and tolerance being an adjunct to discipline, thought then control. Sure, I instantly understood, but, you must develop from within without wanting any part of the "way of the lucky masses" that has an outside to inside approach to life that is too pragmatic instead of genuinely creative and original from within. In fact I call patience, understanding, tolerance, discipline, thought, then control "The Big Six". Without those big six genuine factors, everything in life comes down to nothing, and without persistence and perseverance, everything is really nothing but gambling. I know, that is harsh seeming, but at least it has the benefit of being the honest and realistic truth about it all.

Life and existence are knit with what we are, not what we want to be anyway, however we try to look at it all.

Being Content: How to Not Let Others Affect You

Ever wondered how to be content and happy without letting others affect you? How is it possible? Is it at all possible? This article answers these questions.

Let others' presence not bother you. You do your stuff all by yourself whatever you can. If you need co-ordination or help, ask for it. In break time, have fun and cut jokes and be happy. When you return to your work, do it coolly and be happy. You will cover many milestones this way. Stay in slow and steady mode - after all, you are the person who will win at it. Perseverance and determination always count.

Let others' words not sting at you. Make it go through one ear and out through the other ear. You may not allow what others say hurt you. Be firm and strong and speak boldly. Everything will work out and you do not have to be a people pleaser.

Let how others behave not bother you. You cannot expect everyone to be perfect and up to your standard. Nevertheless talk normally and accept them but don't let them hamper your thoughts or work.

Let how other people dress not bother you. If there is a dress code at work and someone violates it, they will have to pay for it. So you don't bother and sweat. If you don't like the way someone is dressed at a party or reunion, don't bother to say anything. Just keep your distance and mix with the people you are comfortable with and stay contented.

It's not your job to fix anyone. Let others do what they like, talk, behave or wear anything they like. You don't bother about these things unless it's your own family and would like to suggest something more rational or positive.

Learn to be content with your stuff in your place at work or home. Don't let anybody affect your peace of mind. You may sit in a garden for sometime or spend your time at a home library. Time will pass peacefully. If you crave for someone's company, let him or her know that and let them spend time with you for the time being and be content and happy.

Summing up, please don't let others' odd presence or behavior affect you. You may be in for a shock or surprise but it is totally their business. Control yourself and stay cool and at peace with yourself. That way you don't lose your temper or your peace of mind. Instead, tranquility surrounds you in your environment and you are left with your thoughts and work to enjoy and be content.

How Teens Can Overcome Low Self-Esteem

What do you do if your son comes to you one morning and announces that he doesn't want to go to school? You then ask "Why not?" He retorts with "Because no one likes me; they might make fun of me". This is where you can begin teaching your teen about how to overcome low self-esteem.

What if he made a new friend the very next day, someone who liked him a lot and wanted to play the same games as he did? What if he became your son's very best friend? If he doesn't go to school, he misses the opportunity of meeting that new friend. Point out the positive side, what good things can happen.

Find some children's books about kids overcoming problems and finding the good things in life, and read them with your children. Or make up your own stories about kids facing their fears and coming out as winners. You may have to do a lot of storytelling before they're feeling braver, but it will happen. Relate some stories of your own courage and perseverance in school, to show your child it is possible to overcome fears and live happily. Teach them early on to consider the positive side to problems rather than the negative; that changing your attitude changes your life.

If you start the self-esteem boosting regimen early enough in their life, you can save yourself a lot of irritation later on. As children grow older, you have to deal more and more with adolescent emotions. By the time they hit their teen years, it's important to have that self-esteem firmly in place, if you can.

When your children hit the mid teens, they're seeing everything in black and white. If one of their friends inadvertently hurts their feelings, they could see that as meaning that no one likes them. Keep in mind that teen emotions are more intense and extreme than in early childhood. Your teens see themselves in a completely different way than your young children do.

Teens are undergoing cognitive and emotional development, and this can lead to them feeling depressed and moody. You'll find they have trouble developing a general idea based on a specific idea or experience. As children become teens, the biggest issue is developing their own personal independence. They are trying to master skills they need day-to-day and finding some control over their environment. They're accepting the fact that they're growing up and deciding if they feel safe in their little world.

They're searching for their own identities. In the process, they can sometimes go to extremes, going deliberately against your wishes and even your beliefs. Because of the changes taking place in their bodies and their minds, it can produce some depression and moodiness. This should not be confused with clinical depression. Keep in mind that teens express their emotions very differently than younger children. It may even seem to be a little overly dramatic in some cases.

As they strive towards self-understanding, they may see themselves as completely helpless, without talents and skills, hopeless cases; but as your teens learn to increase their own competence and self-understanding, the histrionics will diminish.

The best ways to handle the dramatics is to remain calm and continue to boost your teens' self-esteem. Show them that they do indeed have talents and skills; everyone does. At that age, they just haven't had a chance to discover them yet, but they will. As they show an interest in one subject after another, simply encourage them in each one. You'll never know when one will turn out to be the driving force in their life and become the dream for their future.

The Inevitability of Life

Two Women Smiling

Each step towards our objective require patience, struggles, and battle; the vigorous efforts and enthusiasm of dedicated people. But if there is no battle, there is no advancement. Your personal, professional, and productive life are altogether entwined.

Individual battles, mistakes, and perseverance are a piece of each individual story. An appropriate mindset can transform disappointment into a blessing. In fact, adaptive skills and intelligence can be developed to help an individual conquer a resounding disappointment.

Our ability to rise back in every circumstance that we encountered in life enable us to become stronger and better individuals. Our resilience allows each one of us to rise back every time we fall.

We cannot avoid the inevitability of life. We will never know how unavoidable the unavoidable was. Because an apple falls one hundred times out of a hundred doesn't mean it will fall on the hundred and first.

This world is our reality however that doesn't mean we can generally prevent it from burning. We could have continued driving and never thought back. Nobody's at any point needed to stop for us. Or on the other hand even hear me. Anyway, we did, and now we're apprehensive the ideal opportunity for decision is behind us both.

Enduring is inescapable. It is a piece of the human condition. It is written in the human content. We meet numerous individuals for the duration of our lives. Huge numbers of them we don't generally make an association with. What's more, regardless of whether we do whatever it takes not to demonstrate to them that, it's inescapable to have contentions, make's someone extremely upset, lose a companion, or the consequences will be severe. In the event that we don't do it, another person will do it to us. That is exactly how connections work.

Regardless of whether we're the kindest individual on the planet, there will be somebody who'll differ with the manner in which we live, and will need to tell us what his feeling is. In case we're the one causing the contention, make a stride back and think about on our conduct. Yet, at that point acknowledge the way we meet such individuals on our way as well. It's simply the value we pay for gathering the incredible people who really remain in our life.

Being frail from time to time is in our inclination. We need that so as to realize what quality is, and it's an opportunity we're given to defeat that shortcoming. Yet, don't feel terrible about that. Try not to make a safe place that will make you feel good. As inevitably, that turns into your shortcoming as well.

It's nothing shocking to be dependent on something - we as a whole are, regardless of whether we understand it or not. It's not the most exceedingly terrible thing to have some negative behavior patterns, they're a piece of life as well.

Getting old might be very discouraging. We possibly feel old once we compare ourselves with other people especially the younger ones. Be that as it may, what's the point? Feeling awful about our age implies we have laments about the past or haven't made harmony with it.So now's the correct time to consider what was, to acknowledge it with our entire being, and to simply leave it alone.

Seeing ourselves come up short. This is another of the unavoidable things that will occur eventually in our life. Presumably more regularly than we'd like. However, disappointment is the greatest teacher throughout our life. In the event that we figure out how to embrace it, we'll have aced a significant part of life. In the wake of accomplishing something incorrectly, we can proceed onward more grounded and know precisely what not to do next time. Isn't that incredible?

In fact, there are many things around us that we ought to be profoundly thankful for. Indeed, we ought to thank for having them every single minute. It's exactly how we live. We're frequently in a surge and neglect to stop and take in the pleasant ambiance.

In any case, we end up with second thoughts and having lost something valuable without acknowledging how astonishing it was. So make some space in your days for gratefulness and appreciation. Make it a day by day practice and you'll wind up being increasingly placated after some time.

What's more, who knows, possibly there's something significantly more superb than life itself after? So these are only the inescapable things in life we as a whole need to manage sooner or later.

Having weaknesses is our human nature. We need to know our weaknesses to recognize our strengths. But don't feel bad about that. Don't create a comfort zone that will make you feel better. Eventually, that will become your weakness too.

Dealing With Reality

woman sitting on rocky mountain during daytime

We all want to win, but we all need to train for it. That is reality. Without real, hard earned understanding, we just hack at life and cannot live efficiently. When we take the time to learn the in, out and everything in life, we get better results. It is just like when there is a difference between flying to the top of a mountain in a helicopter, plane or air vessel and genuinely climbing a mountain.

When I think about the genuine nature of reality, genuine winners genuinely do not try to cheat. I use the words "try to cheat", because ultimately the very concept of cheating is unrealistic, and ultimately harder than if the honest path were taken to the same goals. Honest "overnight greatness and success" is years of visualization, training and understanding all facets of what is being done. If anyone says otherwise, they are cheating at a very deep level, not only themselves, but the people they are telling that big lie to. It is almost like the concept of the payday loan saying "get three months pay now" without the full disclosure of "get three months pay now, but pay three years pay worth of interest on it" at the very least! So, get this: Cheating is the big fantasy trip, dealing with reality fully straight is the genuinely winning trip anyway. If you travel the real road, you will achieve your genuine goal. Fake it genuinely and you will not make it.

Being real is always worth it, then is it not? A life based on lying and cheating at deep levels always costs more anyway ultimately. Real is the most direct path there is to any goal. It is the genuine journey of the hero, anyway. Reality will deal with you on this level: If you are genuinely willing to take the honest path, reality will rise up to meet you as you meet that challenge. When I say willing as a word, I mean wanting your goal and working your goal so fully and so consistently, with perseverance, that nothing will break you from going for it.

So, in the end, every limitation disengaged and you have fully evolved past it all, were you real or were you a cheater? only your heart and reality can answer that itself within yourself when you face yourself. Think about it. Only you can answer that question genuinely for yourself when you are evolved enough, nobody else can.

The Winners Or Those Who Can Take It Best

Persistence is more powerful than talent or innate ability, although both can help when you have them. Thinking about the art and reality of persistence, some of the greatest things, inventions and work have come out of persistence, even greater than natural talent can yield at times. That reality is what this article is about, and that is what you are going to get in the purest sense of that reality. After all, persistence and genuine desire and practice prolonged productively can make a force of nature out of a person that is superior to "natural talent" and "innate skill".

When I think about the life of a quitter, it is a bloody mess, that is it. If you can survive the bloody messes, then persist and persevere past them, that is when winning starts. Even Michael Jeffrey "Air" Jordan did not make his high school basketball team on the first try before winning all he did in basketball. Indeed, perseverance despite bloody messes and scars is where winning starts, nobody can tell anyone with sense any different either.

A genuine dyed in the wool "lucky" winner in life that has everything really working for them had lots of practice first, and lots of perseverance before genuinely "getting there". That person had so much practice and perseverance that it would look effortless. At least, that is my line of thinking on the realities of genuine winning. That is why genuine winning really is rare, and lottery winners who "get lucky" seem to be a "dime a dozen". Who wants to train and work when it is "easier" to "get lucky" too many rationalize. But when you earn it harder, you lose it harder and keep it better, any genuine winner rightly rationalizes.

Sure, moving "the big iron ball of reality" is a daunting task for so many, as it should be. Effort and earning is better than having it given to you always instead of depending on "easy lucky breaks" because it is appreciated more at least at a deeper level of mind and spirit or subconscious level of mind because of the fact that it was not easy, and it was earned.

After all, some of the greatest tragedies stem from the lucky breaks, unearned and easily given successes without the effort and perseverance to genuinely earn something. After all, life means nothing but the next genuinely great and sustained effort anyhow, and the earned means everything, the given and luckily "come by" means nothing. Not being able to duplicate a success can crush the spirit, being able to be permanently successful through genuine effort makes better and enriches the spirit permanently. Giving up leads to nothing and sustained effort leads to everything anyway.

Success Is Loving What You Are Doing

Man in Black Holding Phone

Success is not the product of an accident. It is a collaborative effort of hard work, perseverance, learning, sacrifice and loving what you are doing. So, we need to have an aim in life, acquire more knowledge, work hard, and persevere to realize our endeavors in life.

Perseverance refers to the hard work that we do after we get tired of doing the hard work we already did. It is our ability to keep on, moving on, even when our efforts are not met. It is our ability that can make a difference. It comes from being committed to our goals, and from believing in ourselves.

Our success often springs from our ability to refocus to our goal over and over and to give it one more try, and then another, until such time that it leads to success. Our perseverance makes us trustworthy in the eyes of other people because they know we won't quit when an obstacle comes along. It increases our sense of self-worth to take full responsibility of our actions to achieve our goals.

Our commitment heightens our motivation to go on what we have started. It comes from being committed to our goal, and from believing in ourselves and in our goal's potentials. It takes strength from our resilience and optimism to move forward despite the obstacles we encountered.

When we love what we are doing and we persevere when we encounter problems along the way; then, that's what define our success. There's no denying that perseverance is really essential in realizing our dreams, visions and aspirations we want to achieve for ourselves.

Developing the perseverance to hold fast and shift back on track provides the greatest support in fulfilling whatever it might be that we desire to accomplish. It makes the physical journey more enjoyable and less strenuous even if the road is not always that smooth.

We need to define our goals for achieving success in any endeavor. Know and accept that there will be obstacles and setbacks; then prepare for them. Nothing important was every accomplished without adversity, setbacks and difficulties to contend with along the way.

We need to know and accept that there will always be obstacles and setbacks. What's important is to surpass adversity, setbacks and difficulties with a positive mindset. No one can stop us to reach our goals if we anticipate beforehand the potential challenges that we meet through the course of our journey.

We should always have a contingency plan so that when things went wrong, it won't break us because we know that if one approach doesn't work, we still have other options on how to reach on top especially when we really love what we are doing.

Before you start to work on a project, try to imagine how you will feel both as you work on it and when it is completed. Imagine being engaged with it, and feeling the harmony, fulfillment, mastery or pride that will come with it.

Practice! Picture! Pull Off!

We all want to do "it". What I mean by doing "it" is achieving what we genuinely want in life and existence. We all want to be master players in our game, not spectators outside the stadium, or could-have-been types, even. Indeed, to become a winner and do "it" something is needed: persistence, perseverance, practice, picture, pull off! Call it all what you want. I consider all those qualities needed, though, if anything will be achieved. I am not just writing from opinion, I am writing about a reality I genuinely understand here.

A quote I always quote somehow in many of my articles is the 1972 Olympian Mark Spitz quote about "We all want to win, but who loves to train?" Loving to train as well as win is the life secret of anyone who "makes it" or makes it to where they want to go.

I, in this article am going to leave some thoughts seemingly incomplete to give you room to think and be creative in your thinking about how the realities of this article apply to you. (As you can already tell.) Call it "audience participation", but as philosopher Soren Kierkregard and William Clement Stone paraphrasing him once said, "Sure, when you read a book or article and get something out of it, that is it. But, when a book reads you well, that is when you really get something out of it. That is the idea I have here, I want to go beyond that, I want you to read yourself extra well. Professor Xavier in the X-Men was right when he told Logan the Wolverine, "Read your own mind and thoughts, that is where you will find your greatest insights." That is also what I am telling you, practice your success before it happens, picture your success before it happens, and use your insights to pull it off wonderfully when the success happens. Genuine understanding of yourself is the best insight you can have in life. So, stop, think, analyze yourself! You have your answers within you. They sure are not outside of you in any way.

Realistically, our expectations are realistic when we are genuinely honest with ourselves. So, I end with words from the Song of Solomon modernized: "As a person thinks in their hearts, so are they!" How much simpler can I end? We are what we think about to the tune of Earl Nightingale and reality.

Make Peace With Your Dream

Often, when we are told to "make peace with" something, it's in a challenging context, as in "make peace with" your current weight, bank account, relationship, etc. And indeed, the only way to move forward toward whatever your desired goal is to first make peace with wherever you're at in that journey. So yes, by all means, do that!

But the one "make peace with" we rarely think about is to "make peace with your dreams." Too often, we dismiss our dreams and desires as too far-fetched, impossible, unreachable, and we stop before we start. Or we start, and then halfway there we figure, "Oh, this is ridiculous; I'll never make it" so we give up on our dreams.

Don't do that to yourself! Did you know that what makes for success--at anything and everything--is the dynamite combination of passion and perseverance? It's what researcher Angela Duckworth PhD calls "grit," sometimes thought of as "great results in time." No one exemplifies passion plus perseverance better than Jahkee Johnson. Jahkee was born with shortened legs and deformities in his knees and ankles, which caused both legs to be amputated when he was just an infant. But Jahkee had a passion; he wanted to play in his high school's marching band, and he wanted to play--of all things--the tuba.

Now, most would say "impossible"! A tuba is a big heavy instrument, and how is a boy going to march without legs, much less play the tuba and march at the same time? But Jahkee made peace with his dream. He knew what he wanted, and he was sure he was going to make it happen. Period. With that kind of determination, you can guess the rest of the story. At 15, Jahkee began marching in his high school's band with the help of padded shoes so he can walk right along with his bandmates, first with a tuba and now a trombone. Sure, it took a few weeks for him to get the hang of the shoes and the marching, but what the heck?! That's the nature of perseverance.

What's the dream you've given up on? I'm not talking about a whim, or an idle fantasy, as in "I want to be a millionaire"--who doesn't? A passion would be "I want to be a millionaire. I have ideas worth the time and effort and creativity it takes to succeed at my dream." So what's the dream you have, with passion behind it, that you need to make peace with in order to succeed?

Because once you do that, once you make peace with your dream, you can draw on the energy of the Universe to persist until you make that dream come true. Here's to your success!

Endurance Is Not Just The Ability To Bear A Hard Thing, But To Turn It Into Glory

Does anybody really think that they didn't get what they had because they didn't have the talent, the strength, the endurance or the commitment? In fact, endurance is patience concentrated. It is the only reason we even exist.

If you can learn to endure pain, you can survive anything. Some people learn to embrace it- to love it. No matter how much falls on us, we keep plowing ahead. That's the only way to keep the roads clear.

Human beings are the only creatures who are allowed to fail. That's how I learn, by falling flat on my face and picking myself up and starting all over again. It is easily mistaken as love for adversity. But no. It is about knowing strength and faith so great that adversity, in all its adverse manifestations, hardly even exists.

Humans shall not be defined by what they have suffered but how they have endured them. Whatever happens, God gives grace to endure and overcome the situation. With perseverance and endurance you can survive any storm. If you can endure, if you can persevere, if you can work and not grow weary, if you're both obsessed and talented, well, you might have a shot.

Life is a race and it will be painful at times. Facing the trials of any situation by persisting to move forward requires endurance. It's the glory of reaching the goal and capturing the prize. Whatever it is we desire or yearn for, say "yes" to it. Soon, you will be living your new direction.

When we love ourselves, we will work hard for ourselves. Without love there is no drive. Love is the fuel for endurance. There is nothing more motivating than wanting to feel better. Love is what gets us through the "isn't this horrible" times and the antidote to despair is action.

To have endurance we need to be in consistent action, especially in the face of adversity. We need to put faith behind our action showing we believe things will be better than before if we keep working hard and moving. It's not as easy to just "be tougher," though.

Keeping strong in the face of adversity is the ability to keep your focus and determination despite the difficulties you encounter. Events in our life rarely go the way we'd like them to, but that doesn't mean you have to let it throw you off your goal. Mental toughness gives you the tenacity to learn from your mistakes without the devastating blow failure can sometimes deal. This resilience and fortitude also gives you the strength to keep emotions in check when something in your life seems overwhelming and you need to be strong.

Essentially, mental toughness and emotional endurance are the voices in the back of your head that tells you to keep going, keep pushing, and keep trying, even when the going gets tough.

Sometimes we feel that it's the end of the world when we encounter a series of problems in life but no, it's not. It's just the beginning of our journey towards our goal. With persistence and endurance, nothing can stop us from reaching our dreams.

Are You Looking For Permission To Leap Into Your Own Success? Here It Is!

Develop A Deliberate Success Consciousness

Many people hope for success to rescue them from their dreary lives.

They put their life on hold until success comes along and declares them worthy of it.

Whilst I'm being facetious, it is relatable because many don't realise success is something you earn through commitment, dedication and a tenacious perseverance.

Many people don't give themselves permission to be successful, because they prefer to play small, within their comfort zone.

What is stopping you from achieving the success you deserve?

Be honest with yourself.

You might say: 'It's the economy, a lack of education, fierce competition, or not having the right resources' or many other reasons.

However, I'm certain there are people in your line of work who are flourishing. Why? Because they have the right mindset to succeed, and that is the primary reason you are not as successful as you'd like to be.

"People who are successful in life have one thing in common: They all seem to be doing something different and special with their neurocircuitry to maximize their potential and achieve their goals. We believe that's what gives these people a Winner's Brain," writes authors Jeff Brown and Mark Fenske in The Winner's Brain: 8 Strategies Great Minds Use to Achieve Success.

Let me explain what I mean by the right mindset, so as not to confuse you. I am not referring to knowing the tools of the trade, since it is assumed you do.

The right mindset refers to having a success consciousness. If you consider those who are successful in your field, what is the one thing they have in common? A deliberate success consciousness that allows them to be at the top of their field. They believe in themselves and their vision for success.

Developing a success consciousness involves overcoming failures and setbacks while holding firm to a commanding vision for success. It must take place within you first to be realised externally.

Your lack of success may have it origins in the limiting beliefs you hold because you think success will change your life.

However, the limiting beliefs get in the way of awakening your greatest potential and must be examined to ascertain whether there's any truth to them.

Self-Imposed Limitations Keep You Safe

You've heard it said that beliefs create your reality and by reinforcing them, you will feel unworthy of success. Unworthiness is tied to feelings of not being good enough and have their roots in a diminished self-confidence.

To overcome these beliefs, take purposeful action and move toward success, while attending to your mental landscape. You must nurture your thoughts and be attentive to what passes through the screenshot of your mind. Otherwise, you'll succumb to disempowering thoughts related to your worthiness to attain success.

Brendon Burchard says in High Performance Habits: How Extraordinary People Become That Way: "No one can quiet you without your permission. No one can minimize your self-image but you. And no one can open you up and release your full power but you."

I don't care about your background, the fact you're reading this now tells me part of you is attracted to the concept of success. Perhaps it has not manifested in your life at this point. That means little as long as you believe it is possible when you develop a success consciousness.

It requires removing the self-imposed limitations that keep you safe because playing it safe does little to assure you of the success you deserve. It keeps you trapped, stuck and stagnant, even when part of you yearns for something more.

Consequently, an internal battle ensues. I liken it to the tale of The Two Wolves And The One You Feed. Ultimately, the one you give more attention to will prevail.

If you're looking for permission to leap into your own success, look no further than this point. You are worthy of success and everything it entails, yet you must embody it at a cellular level. It must become a mind and body experience, not something you merely hold in mind.

"Often, the journey to greatness begins the moment our preferences for comfort and certainty are overruled by a greater purpose that requires challenge and contribution," explains Brendon Burchard.

When I say it must become a mind and body experience, I'm reminded of those I've crossed paths with over the years and complimented, whether for their performance or creative ability. Some people do not handle compliments well and shrug it off.

They doubt their ability and worthiness to be successful. On a conscious level, they long for success but have not reconciled it at a cellular level.

This is not an article on how to overcome your feelings of unworthiness, nor even a roadmap to break through to success, but something simpler. I'm here to grant you permission to be as successful as you can.

Success is your birthright. Don't buy into the lie that you are unworthy or any other excuses why it is missing from your life.

The single biggest decision to make is decide you want it. Decide you are worthy of it and are capable of achieving it.

"You need no permission beyond that tingling hope in your soul," affirms Brendon once more.

Decide On What You Want And Why You Want It

Stop focusing on your failures since this holds many people back. I liken it to driving from one point to another, looking in your rear vision mirror the entire trip wondering why you're not getting to your destination.

You are smart enough to realise success is impossible to achieve this way. Yet, many people wonder why they haven't achieved the success they deserve. It is because they focus on their setbacks and failures instead of seeing how they are signposts leading to success.

Jeff Brown and Mark Fenske explain: "Failure is an expected milestone on the path to success. Failing does not mean you can never succeed, it just means you don't succeed every time. When you practice anticipating and accepting failure without fear or judgment, you leave the door open for success."

If you decide you don't want to be successful, be honest with yourself - there's nothing to be ashamed of. However, if part of you has doubts about your ability to achieve it, there's a conflict that must be reconciled.

You cannot expect to drive a car in forward and reverse simultaneously. You must decide on what gear to engage until you reach your goal.

Will setbacks and challenges show up?

You bet!

In fact, they are assured to the degree you will want to give up. But they are not there to stop you but to test you. To see how much you want success and how strong your vision and purpose is to realise your dream.

"You deserve extraordinary success just as much as anyone. And you don't need anyone's permission to start living life on your own terms. You just need a plan," exclaims Brendon Burchard.

Whatever you want, declare it is possible and commit to it. Don't stand on the sidelines hoping for the best because faith is not a precursor to success. Action, diligence, perseverance, commitment and a compelling self-belief are the trademarks of success.

You must decide on what you want and why you want it and be willing to trade something to gain something greater.

It is as simple and yet as complex as that.

If you are looking for permission to leap into your own success, you've come to the right place.

I trust in the coming days, weeks and months you will realise you are worthy of success and capable of achieving it - not for what it brings to your life, but because of whom you'll become.

The Mind of A Champion

What does it take to be a champion, an indisputable winner; what makes them different? You may imagine its extraordinary talent, and sometimes it is, but the reality is extraordinary talent is a rarity. It takes something beyond average and far more than mediocrity to be a champion. It takes perseverance; perseverance always prevails.

This phenomenon requires an attitude that refuses to accept defeat. Champions always get back up, no matter how long or hard they fall. Quitting, giving up or in and letting go are never a consideration in the mind of a champion. They understand that in life you will find a way or find an excuse. Champions never own a 'loser's limp' bag, they offer no excuses because they fail to recognize a loss. Champions understand that a perceived failure is a mere testing of faith; they will reach the goal. They carry the illusion of defeat straight to the next win.

Champions understand that in life one cannot be poor who has less, only those who desire more. They rarely bother to assess or compare their talent; their attention is focused squarely on achieving the goal. They don't need a handicap when tallying their score, understanding that handicaps exist only in the mind. You can't accept the things you can't see. Champions know that 'the me is see is the me I will be.' They are careful to see what they want to be and not what others think they are or can become.

Who are the champions? They are all around you. It may be difficult to recognize them because you don't know or understand their goals. The best way to identify them is in their refusal to give up or give in. Look for the ones who seem to be extremely tested yet refuse to give up. Champions always exhibit persistence; a determination to succeed, they persevere no matter the difficulty. The one who refuses to give up always prevails.

While it may seem that champions are called upon to let go of a lot, they understand that real security lies not in what they have but in what they can do without. In the end is it always worth it to them because they never gave up and never gave in; they simply refused to accept defeat. That's how they became a champion; this is the mind of a champion.

If you want to join this elite group you must get inside the mind of a champion and think like them. Persist, persevere and prevail. There is a raging fire within champions that propels them to press on, press on, press on.

Go Big, Go Bold

At most we yearn for the finer things in life such as a majestic promotion at work, an exquisite car, an eccentric project but the question is what you are doing towards attaining your desires. We love to dream yet we all shy away from acting towards that dream. It requires courage to go an extra mile.

We are at most contended with taking baby steps. In fact let me put it this way, the word "Risk" on its own has a different meaning to various individuals. For some a risk is more of an opportunity to progress in life whilst for some when they hear that word it instantly triggers the flight or fight mode. We do not want to cross the border line because risks are associated with failure, double loss and simply put instinctive fear.

We are afraid of taking a risk because we know not how much more we are going to lose after having already lost so much in life but here is another question: How will we ever know what is on the other side when we never allowed ourselves to cross that line? We want to stay within a constricted zone which is limited but what fruits has it brought forth so far. Some limitations that we think we have are merely of our own doing. No one will plough the field for you if you do not set out to seek for one to delegate, no one will harvest if not appointed to.
The point l am trying to drive home is, do something, take the initiative towards seeing that dream come to life.

Go big, go bold, give it your best shot and if it fails, it fails.
After all who said you will always succeed at everything you try out. We all need those knockout blows which teach us to toughen up. I mean only then can we know that next time l need to attack from the left angle, because we took the initiative. Do not be near sighted but rather be foresighted. Success comes to those who are bold, who are willing to take up anything no matter the outcome. After all we can only measure success at times by how many times you fall and get up until you never have to fall.

Don't be afraid to jump from the peak of the mountain, it is a huge risk but fortune does favor the bold. Those that are willing to go out there and give it their all regardless of how it turns out. Dream big but most of all be bold enough to take risks that see your dream come to life.

A lot of obstacles may come our way but what we need is Courage, confidence, perseverance and belief in one's own capabilities. See yourself where you want to be and then start the climb. Even if you are bold, never lose your best accomplice which is patience. A good resolve and patience will comfort you when you reach a rough patch but boldness does not give up. It rather replaces fear with courage, facing the fear just as David from the bible faced Goliath knowing that he who was in him was greater than he who stood before him.

Live a life of no regret, knowing that not only did you try but you gave it your all. Your potential is your confidence, believe in yourself and Go big, go bold.

Have a clear picture of where you want to be, a vision, and set out towards seeing that vision come to life. Action taken differs depending on the intended goal to be reached by every individual be it evangelism, public speaking, leadership role, starting your own company you name it. It is very difficult to implement an action that a certain individual has implemented, what works for him might not work for you. It is easier to take a leap of faith when we believe, when we believe in ourselves. For when we believe, if we fall we pick ourselves up, and soldier on because we have faith in ourselves that we can, it might not be now or tomorrow but some day some time something will definitely happen.

What To Do When You Lack Perseverance

Image result for working hard

Sometimes people are put into situations where they have to persevere. Otherwise, they face dire consequences. For instance, during a war, soldiers may not have the luxury of sleep if they are placed in combat situations. They may have to stay awake and alert for way more hours than most of us would be able to endure.

People who face certain debilitating conditions may find themselves needing to persevere to overcome those conditions. In keeping with the soldier reference, someone who loses a limb in battle may need to go through intense therapy to cope and compensate for this.

But what happens when you are not faced with a life-and-death situation? How do you persevere when it is not absolutely necessary for your survival? If this is the case, it could be that you are not looking deep enough into what you want.

How do you determine what your passions are? Start by thinking about your daydreams. Often, we imagine our lives different from what they are now through those daydreams. If they occur frequently enough, that could be a great indication of what you are passionate about.

Another way to determine your passions is to ask others. Sometimes, we take what we are good at for granted. For example, you may be great at giving advice but wouldn't think twice about pursuing that because it's just something you do. When others tell you that you are good at this, it could open your eyes to pursue it.

People who know you can also give you insight into what you are not good at even when you believe you are. This could be a big reason why you lack perseverance. You are simply pursuing the wrong things for yourself. Of course, it is never easy to hear that you are not good at something, especially when you have the opposing belief. But in the end, if you get enough people to set you straight, you can then choose the right alternative to get you back on track.

Another possibility is you are good at something but are burnt out from doing it. You have been doing it for so long you could practically do it in your sleep. But you hate it. There is no longer any of the magic left. You are simply going through the motions. You have no reason, in this case, to push for anything because you have exhausted all options. If this is the case, move onto something else.

Do You Know Where Your Intent Is?

Most of us think of intent as a "kind of" "sort of" thing: you intend to go on vacation, but you really don't do much about it. Or you intend to go to the market, but some other errand got in the way. Or you intend to ask your boss for a raise, but you got cold feet and chickened out.

Which is a waste of a valuable tool, for in truth, intent is a powerful, dynamic mechanism. It's not just wishful thinking. It's a determination to act in a certain way.

Intent is so powerful, that it can alter the outcome of supposedly neutral scientific experiments.

For example, there's a well-known effect in psychology called the "observer effect" or the "expectancy effect." Simply stated, a researcher's hope--their intent--for what an experiment may reveal impacts the outcome. So if a researcher expects (intends) the experiment to show improvement in an area, it more likely will show improvement, and if the researcher expects (intends), on the contrary, the experiment to show lack of improvement in an area, it more likely will show lack

How that works is still a bit of a mystery, although it is most easily understood through the workings of energy. We are, after all, bundles of electronic energy constantly transmitting - in ways that are measurable--and thus impacting each other. But the "observer/expectancy effect" is why researchers came up with the double-blind method of conducting experiments, where neither the researcher nor the subjects in a clinical trial for a new drug, for example, know who's getting the drug (the real thing), and who's getting a placebo (like a sugar pill).

Which is why I pose the question: do you know where your intent is? Is your intent for a new job, a raise, a vacation, a car, in the land of "kind of" "sort of"? Or are you recognizing in full consciousness the immense power of intention and putting it to use for your goals and dreams?

1. How badly do you want it?

If intent is a determination to act a certain way, then the first thing to figure out is how badly do you want that thing you want? Because determination requires passion and perseverance, and there's no way you're going to have passion and perseverance if you don't want something pretty darn badly. You know the difference. You can want as in "that would be nice," or you can want as in "gotta have it, no matter what it takes." It's only the "gotta have it, no matter what it takes," that can fuel a determination to act.

The "gotta have it" (or "be it" or "do it") is what lies behind the achievements of all the world's greats: the Michael Jordans, the Steve Jobs, the Bon Jovis, etc. Their 100% intent to succeed at their chosen fields was the foundation of their ability to get there. So too, can it be for you

2. How conscious are you of your intention?

Are you absolutely positively determined to be/do/have whatever it is? Are you conscious of your intention 24/7/365? Is it in the forefront of your mind as you go about your day? Or do you let it slip into those nether regions of half-baked "yeah, well, maybe" that never come to pass...

Intent is only as powerful as it is conscious. Make yours conscious, and it will serve you well!

How to Determine Your Life Purpose (By Virginia Adams)

Image result for exercise

In this day and age we hear a lot about finding and following our Life Purpose or Spiritual Calling. For most of us these ideas are preceded and followed by hundreds of question marks. We ask, "How do I know", "How will I know", "Who is going to tell me", "What if I don't hear it right", "What if I don't know how", "Who is going to show me", "What if my Mom (family and friends) disapprove", "Where does this knowledge come from" and on and on and on?

On several occasions I have boldly stated that my current path is a demonstration of me finally following my "Life Purpose". Even knowing and stating this, does not stop the question marks from flooding back in. "How do I know", "Who is going to support me financially as I skip down this lovely little path", "Who and What appointed me to this purpose", and my all-time favorite; "Is this just a "figmentation of my imagination" (thank you Herman "Disney's Mickey and the Beanstalk")?

Today all of these question marks are once again floating around my head which led me to look up the word PURPOSE in the thesaurus. This is what I found, so I will ask myself these questions:

  • Drive? Yes for some inexplicable reason I am driven to continue down the path of Healer, even though it is not an easy task to do in this world. It can be ostracizing and at times in direct conflict with what this world perceives as normal.
  • Determination? Yes I can't seem to stop. I am determined to touch as many people as I can with the message that they are worthy, created in perfection and love.
  • Resolution? Even when this world, my finances and my relationships are in direct conflict, I continue to be resolved to skip down this path.
  • Resolve? Ditto
  • Persistence? Have you heard my message yet? Well then let me find another way to encourage you to see that you are created from the pristine white light of your creator. YOU ARE LOVE AND ARE LOVED!
  • Perseverance? At times I would like to pull the covers up over my head and give up, but this purpose of mine keeps pulling them back down.
  • Tenacity? I think it may just be my middle name, Virginia "Tena-city" Adams.
  • Single-mindedness? One word and one word alone "Love". I have found that if I perceive that something or someone does not vibrate with what I am creating it is OK to let it go. Love or Fear? I choose Love.

Well, for today, I think I may have answered my question marks. Currently my "Life Purpose" path is to continue as a facilitator of Reconnective Healing and a messenger of love through my writing, art and public speaking.

But wait... isn't everything here in this four-dimensional space just a "Figmentation of My Imagination"? Isn't all of this just my story, my imaginative way to return to my innate magnificence, my innate perfection, my inner knowing of the oneness of love? YES! So for now I will imagine that my return to oneness is down this particular Life Purpose Path.

I make the assumption that if you clicked on this article you are currently seeking and searching for a deeper meaning to your life. Please indulge me as I push you with a few more questions. What are you currently creating? What will you allow yourself to imagine? How does it hold up to the above question marks? Finally, are you willing to say "Yes" to your inner guidance, to your inner knowing?

If today you find yourself questioning your purpose or your call to creation? May I suggest that you create a story with your imagination that shows you as Determined, Resolved, Persistent, with great Perseverance and Tenacity. Imagine a story where you have Single-mindedness towards a dream and a reason to exist. Even if it feels unreal or unattainable it is yours to dream, yours to create. Then get busy putting check marks by your question marks. Step by beautiful step you will be gliding down your Life Purpose path. You too have been called to Love, how will you express it in this time and space? I leave you with a simple truth of mine "THERE IS NO DEFINED STORY OF WHO I AM, IT IS MINE TO CREATE"

How to Create Perfection Out of Your Imperfections (By Rosina S Khan)

I remember when my Dad wanted us to change schools that would prepare us well for O-levels under the University of London. So what were the imperfections I had to perfect? How would this article help anybody to do that? Read on to find out.

I was in grade 9 and wanted to be admitted into that very grade in a good standard English medium school.

Dad figured out locating a good English medium school. We had to give admission tests before we got admitted. When that day arrived, my sisters and I were stuck in a big traffic jam so that Dad couldn't proceed on the way in our car.

We were already twenty minutes late when we arrived at the desired location.

Now this school really emphasized on English. After we were given the question papers, my sister who was trying to get into grade 8 chose an essay on "Your Favorite Book" while I chose the topic, "Books and Reading".

The big blow came in at the end of the test while we were waiting for the results. My sister and I were both given chits of paper that read grade 8. I was a bit confused. But I soon realized that I didn't make it into grade 9.

According to the teachers there, my essay did not have flow and coherence as my sister's did.

I got so bogged down that I cried all the way back and for the rest of the day into the night. I wept into the night falling asleep.

Seeing my condition, my father decided to admit us to another school where we wouldn't require admission tests and I promptly got into grade 9.

I struggled with the English course all along. Sometimes the essays I wrote were good and sometimes not so good. This way I ended up with a "C" in the English course in my O-levels. On the other hand, my sister got a prompt "A" when she appeared in her O-levels.

So you see I was imperfect in the English language. When I went to the university, I worked really hard and tried to find every possible way to excel in the English language. And I made it. I got an "A".

Then as the years went by, I had to write CV's, Statement of Purpose and other documents that required skills in English when I applied abroad. I also had to appear in TOEFL in which I excelled.

Fast forward to the present, I can write effortlessly in English now. It takes me only several minutes to write articles or plot a story or write the skeleton of a self-help eBook on a topic that speaks to me.

The child in me that wept in those early years because of her imperfection in the English language has finally won. She is happy with the progress and milestones she has covered.

This way with the required effort, perseverance and determination any person can master perfection out of their imperfections. I am a living example of that. So when I say it is possible, I mean it really is.
