Wisdom of the Tao - Your Life Makes a Difference

The Tao Te Ching is an ancient Chinese text on the nature of existence. According to legend Lao-Tzu wrote this book of wisdom. It has been translated more than any other volume, except for the Bible.

The creative Source of the universe flows around you and through you. Be flexible and open to all possibilities. Release your need to be right. Be willing either to resolve your daily challenges or to resist pushing against them. When you achieve flexibility, you become stronger and more successful.

Appreciate what you have and let go of the need to accumulate more.

From an inner perspective, you recognize your infinite nature. You realize that you live in a temporary world of physical appearances. See the world beyond your senses and live with this conscious awareness. Relax and stop pressuring yourself to accumulate more. Be satisfied and enjoy peace and contentment.

Embrace silence and cultivate inner awareness.

Tao verse 56: "Those who know do not talk. Those who talk do not know."

Those who feel compelled to talk and persuade are attached to their own point of view. They need to be right. Notice your own need to seek approval. Restrain your inclination to judge others and give unsolicited advice. Silent knowing is a place within you that cannot be communicated to another.

Choose thoughts that reflect your status as an empowered being.

The Source Energy that creates worlds flows through you. Practice conscious awareness of this Source Energy. Through mindfulness and meditation practice you cultivate your inner awareness. With consistent practice your creative energy grows. Tap into your creative energy and change the way you live.

You are not insignificant. You have a part in transforming the planet. Create a life vision that helps you focus your energy. Choose an area for your focus. A life vision helps you live with an inner conviction that your life matters.

Intuition and the Skill of Interpretation

The skill of intuition is not really in the receiving. That part is easy Just close your eyes, take a few slow and deep breaths and draw your attention inwards. In that moment you will probably find that you are aware of something that you hadn't noticed before, even if it is only the sound of the beating of your own heart. When we drop inwards or tune-in, there is nothing we have to do in that moment to make the information "appear". The information is always there, just as the beating of your heart is always there (even when you are not thinking about it).

It is naturally easier to be aware of previously un-noticed information, or new information, if we draw attention away from what ordinarily captures our senses. This is partly why meditation and closing the eyes works so well for triggering new insights. Our consciousness and by that I mean conscious awareness, can only handle so much. In our day to day lives we are constantly being bombarded by sensory data, some putting it at the equivalent of 15 million bits per second. In comparison, what we can mostly consciously process and be aware of, amounts to between 15 and 40 bits per second. These figures vary in the literature but what doesn't vary is that there is a vast difference between what we receive and process subconsciously and what we process consciously. When we let go of some of what has been taking up room in our consciousness, we make space for something new to take our attention. This is really the first step of intuition.

On some levels, letting go of what normally takes our attention is easy. Turn down the lights, shut the door and shut your eyes and you have lessened the quantity of sensory input. If you are learning intuitive awareness as a new skill, all of this will help. These circumstances, however, aren't always convenient and even if they were, there is still the challenge of the thought processes and ways of thinking. Shutting the eyes, whilst calming the mind, doesn't necessarily turn it "off". Our patterned ways of habitual thinking can persist and often do, even if we are now applying that patterned way of thinking to another pocket of information.

The practice of intuition is primarily a practice in thinking differently;thinking more expansively and creatively. It is designed to move us forward in life, to step us into higher levels of creativity and consciousness. We are all inherently intuitive and everyone has moments of spontaneous intuitive awareness, but being intuitive on a conscious level requires practice. Why? Because receiving a different pool of information is just part of the equation. What is equally important, or even more so, is how the information is taken in and interpreted. As we practice, we become more aware of our thought patterns and perceptions and are more able to let go of the limiting ways we perceive and interpret information. We become more aware of our biases and when we are distorting the information to meet pre-existing agendas. We can appreciate something new and fresh; even when we don't understand it or necessarily agree with it (in our logical minds).

Living intuitively is fun. Living creatively as a consequence is a great joy. To be able to take any situation and create newness out of it is a great gift and one, in my mind, to be fostered and shared. It's certainly worth the practice.

Finding Meaning in Everyday Life

Clients come to my office for a number of reasons. For example, when they're feeling depressed, when they're feeling anxious, and when they are experiencing conflict in their relationships, but also when they've become bored with their lives.

For these people, meaning and engagement in life seemed to have disappeared without conscious awareness, and not all of a sudden. Instead, it seemed to filter out slowly and they just woke up one day and experienced an emptiness that wasn't previously there.

The sort of passion, energy, and curiosity they once had about life had slipped away, and in the absence of it, they felt lost, unmotivated, and not at all certain about how to get it back.

Sound like you?

So when I'm faced with clients who live a 'ho hum' existence that offers them little opportunity to stretch their wings so they can discover who they are, and what they're capable of, some of the questions I usually ask is what, in years gone by, were they curious about?

What made them laugh?

What caused them to experience excitement and challenge in their life?

Was there a time when they couldn't wait to get out of bed so they could engage in whatever made them feel truly alive?

And if so, what were they doing at the time that caused them to feel that way?

In other words, what elements existed then that no longer do? What made their view of life change, such that they no longer experience it in the same way?

Part of the problem, I've come to believe, is that people who search for meaning in their lives often bypass the simpler, and more every day, experiences that usually make up the larger meaning of one's life.

In other words, rather than searching for the one and only thing that will help them understand why they were put on this earth, or a hunt down a singular way to make an everlasting and profound difference to the larger society, we sometimes forget to seek out answers to life's meaning that might be discovered down several different avenues closer to home.

For example, learning a new language, or taking up one that had been started at one time and later dropped; becoming a volunteer in an organization that holds personal meaning for whatever reason; adopting a new kitten or puppy; taking a university or college course; beginning a new fitness program that involves others with similar interests; consider changing jobs, or even professions; or reacquainting oneself with friendships that perhaps had slipped away over time.

These are only a few ideas, but it's important to remember that we can find multiple meanings in our lives. I previously mentioned, there isn't just one justification for our existence; there are an unlimited number of ways to experience engagement in one's life, and ways that might not stay the same over time.

In fact, what was meaningful to us at one point in life, may no longer seem as compelling now.

I believe that as we change, and even as we age, our definition of what's meaningful changes with us. So if we lose the 'thread' of what it used to be, we need to rediscover how we might define it today.

And if you're bored to death with your life, don't fret. Know that the boredom you're experiencing is a vital tool for pushing you out of the places where life has become routine and stale, and toward a direction of internal and external revitalization.

On my fridge, I have a reminder of one of the necessary ingredients of my emotional and mental well-being, and it's played a huge part in my life for well over three decades.

The quote simply states that: "[t]he greatest happiness is curiosity", and I know it to be true; the lack of curiosity often leads to a dull, unchallenging, and boring life for many of us, and if it's not addressed, depression can often follow closely behind.

And when we get to that point, it becomes tremendously difficult to break out of the inertness that has slowly swallowed us, but break out of it we must or life will seem increasingly meaningless.

So take some time to discover what you may find curious now - listening to a TED Talk once a day might help - and you gain a curiosity about things you may never have considered interesting before.

The idea is to stretch yourself to look at life from different perspectives - especially if you've lost your own - and in the end, you'll likely trigger a spark of curiosity and interest that results in fostering far greater meaning for your life on a daily basis.

What can you start doing today to get out of your feeling of boredom?

6 Secrets to Manifest Money Fast

Manifesting money is all about the energy that you bring to the experience. The more playful and open you can be with the Universe, the more likely it is that your vibration is buzzing at an excellent frequency to welcome in the cash.
However when you feel desperate to manifest money it blocks the flow of abundance faster than flushing a brick down the toilet.
But what if you want to manifest money quickly? How do you choose to feel inspired over feeling fearful? How do you rise above desperation when you’re running out of moolah?
I’ve been broke before – and I mean REALLY broke. My lowest point was when I just had around 70 cents (yes, cents) in my purse in order to feed my children for a couple of days. I remember walking around the supermarket wondering how the hell I would make it to the next welfare pay day. I purchased a no-name bag of plain pasta and the kids could eat it for dinner and lunch with some tomato sauce I had in the cupboard. The pain was so embarrassing that I struck a deal with the Universe that I would never allow myself to go there again.
I did go there again, several times in fact, and each time it wasn’t so bad. I now look back on these times as such a beautiful blessing because I can truly appreciate the abundance I have created in my own life and the ways I have manifested money in a relatively fast and short space of time.

Consciousness is the key – so with that in mind I thought that I’d share my 6 Top Secrets to Manifesting Money FAST…

Secret 1: Set your intention

Take time to get really clear on the amount you are requesting for the Universe and also the time it will take for you to receive it. The Universe LOVES specificity. If you’re not clear on what you want to attract then you will be manifesting by default and all sorts of nasty surprises can appear when you don’t pay attention to conscious awareness.  This works great on the night of a New Moon ☽.

Secret 2: Imprint your subconscious mind + imprint ‘the field’ of energy

This can be done through affirmations and surrounding yourself in the energy of abundance. You can do this by going to expensive stores, dressing up in your best clothes, daily gratitude practice to be thankful for what you do have right now and also repeating mantras and affirmations that help to rewire your feelings about money. This can help so much to get you into the feeling space to welcome in prosperity.

Secret 3: Already feel as if the money has manifested

You must see yourself as if the abundance has already been manifested. You must give thanks for your prosperity despite the physical reality of what you are being presented with. This is the ultimate key to unlocking your desires from the etheric realm.

Secret 4: Send loving energy to the flow of money in AND out

Pay checks make you happy, while bills made you put on your cranky pants with annoyance and anxiety. You need to rewire this in order to get out of your own way. Each time you feel pissed off when a bill gets sent to you then you actively choose to block the flow of abundance and you’re inviting MORE BILLS and more expenses. Nothing is as expensive as an attitude that blocks the flow of prosperity. Learn to LOVE your money. After all, it’s just energy.

Secret 5: Show reverence + respect for the money you have now

Make sure you show your money how much you love it by taking care of it. What does your wallet or purse currently look like? Are there receipts stuffed in there? What do you think your purse/wallet says about your abundance mindset?
The best way to show profound gratitude and reverence for the energy of your current abundance is to ensure that it’s sitting all neatly in your purse or wallet. Create a sanctuary for it to feel safe and loved.

Secret 6: Take one day at a time

This was the most powerful and loving piece of advice that my mother gave me when I was on the brink of going bankrupt in 2009. She told me to just be gentle on myself and take one day at a time. This helped tremendously to keep me focussed on my power in the present moment and not sabotage my vibration with overwhelm by thinking about the uncertainty of my financial future. This is an imperative factor to energy management throughout the manifesting process.
