The Courage Of Living Consciously

Security is a widespread belief and does not exist in the reality of things. To live is risking life in every moment and every situation. Avoiding the danger is safer than completely exposing oneself to it, but in the days, we never know what awaits us around the corner. Danger and glory are equally likely to manifest in our attention or distraction present. Life is, in any case, an adventure, whether it is daring or dull and keeping up with change, and acting freely in front of our destiny gives us an invincible force, the power of living.

In everyday life, the virtue of courage does not receive much attention. It is a quality generally reserved for soldiers, firefighters, and activists. Safety is the most important thing. Often, we learn to avoid too much audacity or too much courage, because they are too dangerous; not to take unnecessary risks, not to attract the attention of the public, to follow family traditions, not to talk to strangers, and keep an eye on suspicious people. In conclusion to stay safe.

However, this is over-emphasizing the importance of personal safety causes, sometimes, the side effect of living responsibly and, instead of setting our goals, making plans to reach them, and take them forward with pleasure, play on the safe side. We continue, therefore, to work at our stable and permanent workplace, even if it no longer satisfies us; we stay in the old unsatisfactory relationship, also if, compared to the passion we once had, we feel dead inside, and so on. We console ourselves thinking that it is not up to us to subvert the system; that we must accept fate and do our best and go with the flow without shaking the waters, with the hope that the currents of life will drag us in a favorable direction.

No doubt there are real dangers in life, which we must avoid, but there is a vast chasm between recklessness and courage. Without going to the extreme example of heroic courage to risk life to save someone from a burning building, courage means the ability to face imaginary fears and recover the most exuberant life that one has denied. The fear of failure, rejection, solitude, and humiliation; the fear of regret, success, ostracism of family and friends; the fear of public speaking, taking the first step, and physical discomfort, are all imagined fears.

How many of these fears hold many of us back? How would we live if we were not afraid of everything? Indeed, we would still have our intelligence and common sense to turn safely around the real dangers, but without the emotion of fear, would we be willing to take risks, especially when the worst case would not be dangerous at all? Would we talk more often? Would we speak in public? Would we talk to unknown people? Would we ask for an increase? Would we dive headlong into those ambitious projects we have always dreamed of? What would happen if we learned to enjoy the things that currently frighten us? What difference would it make in our life?

We often convince ourselves not to be afraid of anything and that there are always good logical reasons for not doing certain things. It is impolite introducing yourself to an unknown person. We do not speak in public because we have nothing to say. Ask for an increase now is inappropriate because it is better to wait until the next formal report. And so on. But these are all, and only, rationalizations. Who knows how our life would change if we could, with confidence and courage, do these things without hitting the brakes and utterly fearless? There is only one way to know it.

Endurance Is Not Just The Ability To Bear A Hard Thing, But To Turn It Into Glory

Does anybody really think that they didn't get what they had because they didn't have the talent, the strength, the endurance or the commitment? In fact, endurance is patience concentrated. It is the only reason we even exist.

If you can learn to endure pain, you can survive anything. Some people learn to embrace it- to love it. No matter how much falls on us, we keep plowing ahead. That's the only way to keep the roads clear.

Human beings are the only creatures who are allowed to fail. That's how I learn, by falling flat on my face and picking myself up and starting all over again. It is easily mistaken as love for adversity. But no. It is about knowing strength and faith so great that adversity, in all its adverse manifestations, hardly even exists.

Humans shall not be defined by what they have suffered but how they have endured them. Whatever happens, God gives grace to endure and overcome the situation. With perseverance and endurance you can survive any storm. If you can endure, if you can persevere, if you can work and not grow weary, if you're both obsessed and talented, well, you might have a shot.

Life is a race and it will be painful at times. Facing the trials of any situation by persisting to move forward requires endurance. It's the glory of reaching the goal and capturing the prize. Whatever it is we desire or yearn for, say "yes" to it. Soon, you will be living your new direction.

When we love ourselves, we will work hard for ourselves. Without love there is no drive. Love is the fuel for endurance. There is nothing more motivating than wanting to feel better. Love is what gets us through the "isn't this horrible" times and the antidote to despair is action.

To have endurance we need to be in consistent action, especially in the face of adversity. We need to put faith behind our action showing we believe things will be better than before if we keep working hard and moving. It's not as easy to just "be tougher," though.

Keeping strong in the face of adversity is the ability to keep your focus and determination despite the difficulties you encounter. Events in our life rarely go the way we'd like them to, but that doesn't mean you have to let it throw you off your goal. Mental toughness gives you the tenacity to learn from your mistakes without the devastating blow failure can sometimes deal. This resilience and fortitude also gives you the strength to keep emotions in check when something in your life seems overwhelming and you need to be strong.

Essentially, mental toughness and emotional endurance are the voices in the back of your head that tells you to keep going, keep pushing, and keep trying, even when the going gets tough.

Sometimes we feel that it's the end of the world when we encounter a series of problems in life but no, it's not. It's just the beginning of our journey towards our goal. With persistence and endurance, nothing can stop us from reaching our dreams.

Reflections of Your Glory

Thought the word glory would never apply to you? It applies to everyone! Most people live their life without ever giving a thought to how their words and actions may be a reflection of the glory of who they became. For those who are aware the results are far more profound! Where are the reflections of your glory?

Just look around you for the results, search your memories and pay attention! The following are only a few examples you can review to see the results of your guidance and beliefs that have touched others' lives.

1. The most obvious is your children. Who are they? Were they filled with childhood dreams? Did they rest peacefully at night knowing that whatever might be lurking in the shadows, your love protected them? Did you inspire their creativity or ignite a spark of passion that encouraged them to try harder or go the distance? If they are secure, well balanced and unafraid to pursue their dreams your parenting experience has been brilliant.

2. Do you take the time to acknowledge your parents, to notice the elderly and their special needs? Do you offer them respect for their years of wisdom gained? Do you encourage their independence while providing the necessary protection they require? When you replace mediocrity in their lives with understanding and unconditional love you reinforce the beauty of the life force.

3. How do you relate to the homeless or less fortunate people whose path you cross? Do you offer a smile and look them in the eye? Do you encourage them, feed them or contribute with ideas that may inspire them to see solutions? Your willingness and ability to relate to those less fortunate with empathy and compassion are major indicators of character. If you take the time to greet them as equals, to see the glory in them, you have re-instilled their faith in tomorrows that can be filled with wonder.

4. How do you perceive animals in your life? Do you take the time to appreciate the unyielding love, loyalty and devotion your animal friends offer? Do you take the time to acknowledge pets, to offer a loving pat that says 'I notice you and I care?' Do you take the time to care about and act on abused or injured animals? If so, you have shared the grandeur of selfless love.

5. Are you aware of the gifts of nature that surround you? Do you respect the planet for all that it provides? Do you make the effort to conserve water and energy to prevent unnecessary depletion of her natural reserves? Do you take the time to inhale the fresh air that is provided, to enjoy her sunrises and sunsets that are before you? If you do, nature is exalted by your gratitude. You are in touch with the splendor of God that is before you.

Taking the time to care, to counsel, to participate and to listen comprise the foundation of living in glory. Add a dash of faith and a sense of humor to ensure a life well lived and a legacy that reflects your true glory.
