The Habits Of Highly Effective People You'll Need To Learn For A Wonderful Journey To Success

Being 'disciplined', 'authentic', 'respectful', and 'testing' over and over, (DART) are the qualities of truly successful people who have ever walked among us.

These above mentioned traits of successful people everywhere is why they "DART" across the finish line.

This has actually resulted from a mindfulness research study of the primary personality type to be found on the planets most effective individuals from women, professional athletes and political leaders and business people.

Disciplined.

Successful people are well-organized and self-disciplined.

Typically they have actually been brought up in a structured disciplined environment. From being led they understand the best ways to lead.

They are considerate of others and realize ways to be greeted with respect from others.

They comprehend the importance of loyalty and demand commitment from others.

As you absorb what this article has to offer keep in mind this spiritual metaphysical principle from the Course in Miracles which states, "Let, then, your dedication be to the eternal, and learn how not to interfere with it and make it slave to time. For what you think you do to the eternal you do to you."

Authentic.

Effective people do not accept only going half way, because they act from their inner core and true free will.

The qualities of successful people always stand up to unnecessary administration and need fairness and correctness in the world around them.

Respectful.

Previously I discussed free available information on the web accessing you to discovering how successful people grow and the habits of a millionaire's mindset.

Effective individuals everywhere and in all walks of life around the globe are respectful of others. They possess a 'kind heart'.

The qualities of successful people contain courage of their beliefs and respect their own convictions, and they will face up to adversity and overcome it.

They are successful typically against huge chances due to the fact that they have the inner-vision and the courage to till through all the hurdles and barriers positioned in their path.

Toughness.

A great side aspect in the qualities of successful people is their grit and toughness and also with a sense of humor, especially when the chips are down and life seems to be against them.

They will not end up being stressed out and will often get rid of tight spots by their wit and well put humor which is a trait of their toughness.

Make certain to remember my "DART" to the finish line theory as the qualities of successful people.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of qualities possessed by successful people, but by concentrating on these traits of successful people and how successful people grow, will offer you a great running start in a life of success.

As I stated, of the habits of highly effective individuals mean never compromising for a job or task half done, while having strong conviction in their goals and objectives.

(Please also note, I like to suggest searching the net for further helpful material on topics like, how exactly do people become effective and have far beyond good leadership skills.)

To success and happiness!

Conquer The Bandits That Rob Your Willpower

Probably everyone wishes, at one time or another, for more willpower.

With consistent willpower, we can banish our worst habits. We can finally ignore what we once regarded as temptations luring us toward the promise of pleasure, distraction, or relief, only to discover that they slam us with guilt and regret when we give in. With sufficient willpower we can develop habits that make us stronger, healthier, smarter, wealthier, or more attractive, depending on our goals.

The source of willpower is found in the brain's prefrontal lobe, home of the "executive function." The prefrontal lobe gives us the ability to execute the actions that lead to accomplishing our goals. Like an executive or a business manager, it decides what gets done or not done. The prefrontal lobe gives us the capacity for:

• Decision-making

• Evaluating options

• Directing attention

• Delaying gratification

• Following rules

The brain's reward circuit creates habits through the release of a neuro-chemical called dopamine. The reward circuit encourages us to remember substances and experiences that initially bestow "rewards" - feelings of excitement, pleasure, or relief - and remember what we did to obtain those rewards. Dopamine urges us to pay attention to cues that signal when those substances and experiences are available, encouraging us to "do it again," setting up an expectation of more rewards. The reward circuit can put our brains in a constant struggle between succumbing to bad habits or following the dictates of our more virtuous executive function.

When we give in to the urgings of the brain's reward circuitry, we are more likely to watch television instead of taking a walk, choose the cookies instead of the apple, play video games instead of doing homework. The problem with dopamine is that it overrides rational judgment and good intentions. It can decommission the prefrontal lobe so that we engage in destructive habits over and over again. By strengthening willpower, we get a stronger prefrontal lobe.

In this article, I'll discuss six factors that weaken willpower, and not surprisingly, there is a remedy for each. These six factors prompt us to pursue our vices. When you become aware of these willpower "bandits" you'll be better prepared to avoid them and make better choices.

Bandit #1 - Social Influence

Marlene Dietrich once said "The weak are more likely to make the strong weak than the strong are likely to make the weak strong." The people you hang out with can exert amazing influence over whether you follow healthy or unhealthy behaviors. Friends and family members often introduce us to the very habits that ensnare us. We tend to congregate with people like ourselves. So we have drinking buddies, smoking pals, and we know just who to call to join us in that jaunt to the Baskin Robbins for the triple scoop special!

Mirror neurons in the brain make us want to mimic the behaviors of those around us. By going along with others, we get social reinforcement and a feeling of belonging. So if you want to stop an unwanted habit, stop associating with people who share your weakness. They may be your friends, but they might also sabotage your success; something I wrote about in this article. If you still want to spend time with them, then do it away from the bar, the casino, the ice cream shop, or whatever environment might be your downfall.

If you plan to take up a new habit, find ways to spend time with people who are also engaged in that new behavior. Going to the gym may be more fun than exercising at home just because you'll be in the presence of others who are exercising. Join a club, or a meet-up group, or a support group and put those mirror neurons to work!

Even if your new habit is a private, solitary activity, you can still get support from others through website forums and from websites where you can chart your progress along with others working on similar goals. You could also hire a life coach to hold you accountable, discuss your progress, help you problem-solve, and teach you motivate yourself.

Bandit #2 - Fatigue

It's obvious that we give in to temptation when we feel tired. The three main causes of fatigue are overwork, inadequate sleep, and low blood sugar. To combat fatigue, find a way to balance your work time and your personal time. You may need to negotiate with your supervisor and/or coworkers to modify your schedule, the number of hours you work, or the range of your responsibilities. Perhaps you need to delegate. Perhaps you need to get to bed earlier so that your work day is more productive. Perhaps you need to eat foods that give you more stamina and energy.

Inadequate sleep will undermine your resolve to stop a bad habit or start a new one. Inadequate sleep has been shown to reduce energy, lower productivity, compromise immunity, and cause weight gain. The National Center for Sleep Disorders Research estimates that 70 million people suffer from sleep problems. Many people take over-the-counter sleeping pills or prescription drugs for sleep disorders such as insomnia. You can do better by learning to manage stress (see below) more effectively. Also, consider hypnotherapy for insomnia.

Low blood sugar is often a result of what you eat. Sugars, fats, starches, many processed foods, and alcohol break down quickly in the digestive system, converting to sugar. These foods are high in empty calories and low in nutritional value. They raise blood sugar levels, causing the pancreas to pump out more insulin to bring down sugar levels. As blood sugar levels drop, the result is fatigue, poor concentration, and cravings for more of those foods. You'll have more staying power if you get off the sugar/fat/starch cycle and start eating foods high in fiber and protein that are digested more slowly.

Bandit #3 - Focusing on What You Don't Want

Focusing on what you don't want isn't a well-formed outcome. It's better to say "I want to achieve a healthy weight," than to say, "I don't want to be so fat" A positively stated goal or outcome focuses attention on the solution, not the problem.

The problem is that when people grapple with habits and temptations on a daily basis they tend to focus on what to avoid. They say something like, "When I am at the party tonight I will resist the urge to eat the cookies and cakes." So, at the party, where does the attention go? It goes right to those forbidden goodies. Now, the dopamine in your brain insists that you must have as many as you can consume! Your executive function has been high-jacked and your willpower seems to have escaped out the nearest window.

The remedy is to focus your attention on what you will do instead: "When I go to the party tonight I will nibble on munchies from the vegetable tray." Here's another pitfall to be aware of, however. For many people, doing something "good" (i.e., eating the veggies) gives them permission to do something "bad" as a reward (i.e., eating the cake). If you define your habit as an indulgence for being "good" and you think that that being "bad" is a reward for being "good," then you'll remain mired in the habit that causes your misery. Read more about this in Kelly McGonigal's book, The Willpower Instinct.

Bandit #4 - Negative Self-talk

Many people honestly believe that by criticizing and chastising themselves, they will turn to better behavior. That's usually wrong! How would you feel if another person scolded you or belittled you on a daily basis? You would hate it. Negative self-talk often triggers the brain's alarm system - bringing anxiety. So the brain decides the best way to alleviate that anxiety is to demand relief - and your reward system will insist you must have that drink, that chocolate, or that bag of potato chips.

There are many ways to change negative self-talk, especially with Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). You can dismantle it, invalidate it, reframe it, and replace it. Contact an NLP practitioner and read more about it in Steve Andreas' nifty book, Transforming Negative Self-talk.

Bandit #5 - Perfectionist Strivings

Many people get stalled out on starting a new, desired habit because they insist it must be done perfectly, and if it isn't perfect, then they will have failed. So they procrastinate, stewing in fear-of-failure anxiety. Moreover, many people begin a new, desired habit only to quit at the first sign of difficulty. A goal based on perfection is not achievable.

Whoever said "Anything worth doing is worth doing right," and "If you can't do something right, don't do it at all," did not understand how humans learn. We learn most anything that is difficult through trial and error. In many undertakings we must start out as beginners, making mistakes and correcting them until we achieve consistency and competence. Stop relying on the idea that you must be perfect. Jump in and learn as you go, expecting to have mistakes and lapses along the way. Remember, life is messy - so get on with it.

Bandit #6 - Stress

You probably know that stress can sap your willpower in a hurry. That's because stress activates the sympathetic nervous system and sets off activity in the brain's limbic region, the seat of worry and anxiety. When the limbic system is getting the brain's energy, there is little left over for the prefrontal lobe. It's as though your brain's executive has been scared off by an unruly mob of neurotransmitters screaming that everything is going wrong. You'll regain some control when you see stress as a signal to apply coping mechanisms.

Stop The Bandits!

So look at your daily life and identify your willpower bandits. Ask yourself:

• Do I hang out with people who have healthy habits, or with people who have unhealthy habits?

• Do I get enough sleep - or is there some way I could improve my sleep habits?

• Do I focus too much on what I don't want, when I should be focusing on what I want instead?

• Do I have negative self-talk going on in my head that undermines my willpower?

• Do I sabotage my good intentions with perfectionist strivings?

• Am I handling the stress in my life effectively, or do I need better stress management skills?

Answer these questions honestly and you might get some clues about how to empower and ramp up your executive function so that you muster the will power to conquer bad habits and start good ones!

To Prepare Yourself For A Better Tomorrow, Do All You Can To Be Your Best Today

The Aggregation Of Small Habits Leads To Greatness

Do you realise your best is yet to come? How do you feel when you read that statement? Do you think: "My best is behind me"? But what if you don't know what you're capable of unless you continue to move forward towards your goals and dreams? Let me give you an example. When Michael Jordan failed making his high school basketball team, do you think his career was over? Perhaps he thought so at the time because not making the team might have seemed like the end of the road for him, but it wasn't. It was the beginning of his career as one of the greatest basketballers of all time. Why? Jordan loved to play basketball and spent hours practicing and fine tuning his skills. The setbacks and defeats he experienced were part of the process to achieve greatness. They were inflection points in his career and why your best is yet to come, as long as you continue moving towards your goals. Warning: you must believe your best is still to come and keep taking the right course of action.

Your best will come from your habits, practice, growth, setbacks, victories and knowledge gained over the years. To prepare for a better tomorrow, we must commit to the tasks of today that lay the foundation for tomorrow. Nothing good can come of delaying that which we must attend to now. Whilst many of our daily tasks or habits can be tedious and time-consuming, with the right mindset they will transform our efforts into achievement. We must do our best whatever that looks like, knowing the aggregation of small habits leads to greatness. This is the essence of what motivational author and speaker Brendon Burchard refers to in High Performance Habits: How Extraordinary People Become That Way where he writes: "Being on your A game means that you are giving your best effort with full focus on the singular task at hand. To get it, you need to stoke the internal and external demands of necessity. Specifically, you assume the identity of a high performer and you set up situations that require full immersion." How does this idea appeal to you? Is this something you're prepared to invest in or are you already taking inspired action in your life? Whatever the case, investing in ourselves means committing to that which makes our hopes and dreams come alive.

Focus On Priorities That Make You Come Alive

We are the vessel upon which our tomorrow is created or conversely, one in which we will live with regret. Either way, regret is nothing more than ineffective action because we have squandered our time on things that don't matter. To be your best today, requires bringing your whole self to every situation. What do I mean by whole self? I mean the entirety of your being, including your mind, body and spirit. The person who brings their whole self to their task is inspired by a greater purpose for their life. A person who brings their whole self to their undertakings unites with their deeper intent, so each action is purposefully guided and emanates from passion and direct intention. We are the habits of our yesterdays and the victors of our tomorrows. What we plant in our mind and sow into our hearts becomes the seeds of greatness tomorrow.

So what are you committed to? What actions are delivering you tangible results? We must be clear whether our labour compels us to move forward or keeps us stationary. Stagnancy is a misdirected purpose in the form of resistance because we are frightened by the success of tomorrow. Yet, this is the purpose of daily actions and habits: to sharpen the saw as the late Dr. Stephen Covey wrote in his book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. It is the opportunity to refine, review and reward ourselves for actions we undertake that bring our hopes and dreams alive.

Nothing good can come of setting aside that which can be completed now because what we put off for tomorrow compounds and soon enough we face yet another fear. Our task is to minimise fear from our lives, so we can focus on our highest objectives through purposeful action. We ought to pursue things that make us come alive, not make us feel weary and uninspired. We must do away with commitments and obligations that hinder our progress or better still, delegate them to others so we can focus on that which makes us come alive. We must bring forth the song within our heart because this is the song that touches those whom associate with our work. So I ask you: what are you putting off today that may inhibit your tomorrow? Can you commit to the smallest task, even when you feel less inclined to? Without doubt, if we are inspired by some greater purpose, then the smaller tasks will fuel our actions because a better tomorrow is possible when we commit to be our best today.

Feel Better About Yourself: 7 Habits to Increase Self-Worth

Here are seven areas that you can work on each day that will help you realize and increase your self-worth.

1. Self Talk

What are some of the things that you're saying to yourself?

Take time to think about those thoughts that come up and don't judge yourself for having those thoughts.

Just realize that those thoughts are yours and you're having them at the moment. If you have unkind thoughts about yourself or about who you are, ask yourself if you would talk to somebody else like that.

If not, then take time to find how you would talk to yourself in regard to those items.

Would you look at somebody and say, "You really suck at cooking?" Of course not, but you might say, "Hey, would you be interested in taking a cooking class with me?"

In this way, instead of noting the negative you are creating an opportunity for the positive to flow into your life.

Don't tell yourself you're fat - ask yourself if you'd be willing to walk a little bit further by parking at the back-end of the parking lot instead of next to the door.

It is all about taking small steps for great change!

2. Support Network

Boosting your self worth is much easier when you find people who are supportive of who you are and what you're doing.

Don't be afraid to decline invitations to events that may pull you back down or hold you back from becoming your greatest self.

When you turn down invites to events to hang out with people who would hold you back you are opening up the doors to let in people and events that will help you grow.

Find make time for activities that bring you more joy in your life and allow you to feel more fulfilled.

3. Appreciate Yourself

Have you ever thought about what others appreciate in you have you taken the time to ask them?

Simply Having a kind word from someone who we love can go a long way we trust that person for good reason it's because we value their insights.

Sometimes having their perspective will shed light on some of the unique qualities that we are not aware about.

Take time today and ask a close friend or a family member one thing they appreciate about you. Then make sure to grab your journal and write down their words.

There are times when you can go back and read those words for an extra boost to lift you up and make you feel better.

4.Emotional Triggers

Triggers are the things that make you go boom emotionally. What are the triggers in your life?

Are there words, decisions, comments, or actions that cause you to emotionally go off?

If you can learn why you're triggered to respond you will begin to understand yourself in a better way.

This will help you to know what it is that needs healing within your heart.

5. Switch Your Focus

Focus on kindness to find more self-worth in you.

When you began helping others it will help you to see your own worth.

It's hard to think you don't have value if you are able to add value to another's lives.

So instead of focusing on all the things that are wrong with you, begin to focus on how can I serve others what can you give back to your community and family.

Kindness is a high-value trait and cultures all across the world. When we develop a heart and a mind of kindness our self-worth and our Worth to the world will increase.

6. Gratitude

Practicing gratitude is an amazing opportunity to grow our self worth.

When we appreciate qualities that make us each beautiful and unique, we turn our focus to the good that is within us every day.

Finding self-worth is easier when we realize that we are not the only one who is struggling.

Take time to write a few things each day that you appreciate about your self on the inside.

I want you to write down the things that are unique to just your last 24 hours. When you approach it on a 24-hour rule, you will not be sucked into the habit of writing down the same thing each day.

7. Acknowledge Struggles

Taking the time each day to realize that you are not struggling alone. It will give you greater clarity about your place in the world.

It is not about saying,"I'm not as bad as the other person," or, "My life isn't as hard as theirs". It is about acknowledging did we are not alone in this world and we all have a place.

It is about knowing and what we are going through it's not something that has never been survived.

There is growth in our struggles. Therefore the more we struggle, the more we grow. The more we grow, the greater our value. The more value we have, the more we can offer the world.

How to Control Your Habits

Alarm clock rings in the morning, it's time to get fit. Allan gets up hurriedly, gets dressed up ready for his workouts. He's been doing this for three years now. Annie had a heated argument with her husband, she rushes to the kitchen and eats all the sweets available. This usually happens when she's upset.

Allan and Annie have habits. They are used to doing what they do at a certain time. Maybe you might want to harness good habits and leave the bad ones e.g. smoking, eating junk food etc.

It is obvious it is not easy to stop something you are used to. It will not happen overnight. Bad habits are like a warm bed in winter.

Let us see how we can achieve this.

See Things Practically
You might say to yourself, "This week I will stop smoking, stop using foul language and stop eating junk food." In reality it's not possible to do all those at ago. When presumptuousness comes, dishonor will follow but wisdom is with the modest ones. Take one step at a time. A wise man sees things practically and he knows his strengths and weaknesses.

Recommendations
• List down the good you want to harness and the bad you want to leave.
• Plan your list well and start with the most important ones.
• Choose one or two things and work on them.

For you to endeavor, make sure the good habits take place of the bad ones. Take this example, one of the bad habits on your list is watching too much television, on your good list there is communication or read a book. When you get home, instead of watching television, read a book or communicate with your loved ones. It can be your grannies, your siblings your parents etc.

Environment
You are determined not to eat junk food but the cravings are overwhelming. You have decided to quit smoking, but one of your friends is always there to offer you a cigarette.

The above examples show that your surroundings matter when you want to change. The shrewd one sees the danger and conceals himself, but the inexperienced one keeps right on going and suffer the consequences. Learn to flee from desires.

Recommendations
• Be determined to avoid bad habits, example of the junk food, neither buy nor store it.
• Choose your friends wisely, never let them choose you. Avoid people who will lure you back to your old you. The one walking with the wise ones will be wise.
• Make it easier to do the right thing. For the gym example, before you sleep, put your gym clothes right besides your bed. When you take the first step it will be easier to take the next.

Do Not Give Up
They say it takes one twenty one days for one to get used to a habit. Some may take shorter periods and others longer, we were not born the same. The wise one may stumble seven times but he will get up again. Aaliyah, the late singer, sang in one of her songs "dust yourself up and try again." It doesn't matter how many times we slip and fall, what matters is getting up and doing it again.

Recommendations
• Remember to slip is not to fall, and if you will fall, pick yourself up and move on. Always expect obstacles on your way up.
• Remember your achievements. It will give you morale.

It's better the end of a matter than its beginning, it's better to be patient than to be haughty in spirit. Your diligent plans will surely lead you to success. Your eyes should look straight ahead and fix them on the prize. Forget what is behind and stretch forward to the good stuff ahead.

Pray With Yourself: Troubles Go Away!

When you persistently put things into your mind and you are consistently programming yourself with habits: Congratulations, you are praying, putting spells on yourself or whatever. That is not a fantasy I am making up, that is reality. Sure, in this game and real situation of life, it genuinely what we are, say, do and all. Energy is controlled, not created.

When I think about vibration, realities, fantasies, and everything. They all stem from one force really: Thought. They all stem from that, whether it comes anywhere from low to high, and the vibrational measure of the thoughts create our reality and nothing else.

I am also saying that ultimately, if we are winners, it is our virtue. If we are losers, it is our own fault. We get away with nothing and benefit to pay to the genuine measure of it all.

When I think about genuine psychic power and all of that, that is what I think of, thoughts, vibrations and creations that come from all, not anything acting outside of ourselves. My point is to get to the source of your troubles and genuinely work on them going away. Do not look to anyone or anything else to pay for you, act for you or really think for you.

You may or may not agree with me on those points I just mentioned, but you understand this if you have gotten this far into the article: Reality works the same from top to bottom and for winners and losers alike, everything is actions and consequences for everyone and everything, including God, Goddess, Power, Source, Universe, Existence, everything and whatever.

So, I would like to end this article a little differently: Reality does not depend on luck, it depends on how we genuinely use the laws of reality in definite ways. If we go against them, we lose. If we go with them in right directions, we win.

Different realities work by different rules of course, but one thing unites them all: If we play by those rules in the right way, we are successful at those realities. If we are wrong, we are wrong, that is it, unless we change directions and become right.

I learned nothing valuable at Rainbow Bridge Center School from 1984 to 1987 except that lesson about genuinely winning. I learned nothing academic from that school really except that life lesson. Sure, I pretended not to know fractions or understand advanced math and language just so that I would fit in with the other kids and not seem "too smart for my own good" or too knowledgeable about life. If you want to win, you must work with the laws of reality and not against them, is the ultimate reality. Breaking the law and doing genuinely wrong is always cheating, destruction and negative creation is always cheating. Production and positive creation is always legitimate winning. Indeed, destruction, negative creation and cheating are always bad. I did not see the one lesson I learned as a penalty, I saw this lesson as the ultimate understanding of how life and existence work.

To shorten this to understandable terms: You must line up your wish bone with your backbone to get them to really work together as prayer must be backed up with motivated action also to get results in reality.

How to Destroy Bad Habits

Smoking

Have you got any bad habits? Of course, you have, no use pretending otherwise. It's natural and all part of being human. You may want to change them but be honest, you don't find it easy. This article will help you replace them with good habits, one habit at a time.

Quick Exercise

Fold your arms. You didn't have to think about doing that did you? You just did it. However, if I asked you which arm was on top, without checking, you probably wouldn't know. You have been so accustomed to folding your arms a certain way that it's become a habit. The question is, was it a habit which was consciously made or unconsciously made? In this case, I suspect it's the latter. So what, you might be thinking, it doesn't really matter which way I fold my arms. That may be true in this case; however it's not always so.

This Doesn't Feel Right

Now try folding your arms the other way - unless you're a very rare breed, I expect you found it awkward to do and somehow it just didn't feel right, did it? Because you have folded your arms multiple times in the same way, it has become effortless. Such is the almighty power of repetition. Now think about all the tasks you do on a daily basis from showering, getting dressed, making a cup of tea to more complex matters such as driving and you will find that you also do these in a certain way, without consciously thinking.

This is all fine and dandy when it comes to habits which are either good for you or neutral. The fact that you can do all these things so easily is beneficial because it saves you a lot of time and energy. Let's be honest, though, some of your habits are destructive, whether they be a habitual mode of thinking, poor diet, too much alcohol, little exercise or even not charging what you're worth!

Can You Do Something About It?

Yes of course you can. Is it easy? It depends on your definition of easy. It entails the same level of persistence required to create the unwanted habits. I have heard and read many times that it only takes 21 days to change a habit. So I decided to do a simple experiment on myself.

True Story

I noticed I was in the bad habit of leaving the toothpaste cap off and the toothbrush (electric) on the basin instead of putting it back on its charger. I decided I wanted to change this habit and set to it. It took me a good 6 weeks to crack it for the most part and even now, very occasionally, I forget to do it. What I will say, though, is that at the beginning I had to work harder to do this and gradually it's become easier. I don't think I'm totally unconsciously competent yet, which means that I'm still having to think about it. My conclusion is that it takes quite a bit longer to correct a habit than I have been led to believe.

The Practical Part

Let's cut to the chase then and create a strategy for changing habits which puts you in the driving seat.

1. Decide what habit you want to change.

2. Ask yourself on a scale of 1-10 how important it is for you to change that habit (with 1 being low and 10 being high). Providing your answer is 8 or above, you can kill it dead. You also need to make sure that it's really your decision and not someone else's. i.e. what's the benefit to you of changing it?

3. Choose the replacement behaviour.

4. Take the new action consciously.

5. Reward yourself in some way (preferably not with food or drink).

6. If you lapse, merely correct yourself without beating yourself up.

7. Keep practising until the new behaviour becomes permanent.

You can, of course, apply this process to any number of habits you want to change, one at a time.

And, as always, if you know someone who might benefit from this article, please do share it with them - they won't be mad at you for providing them with value. Promise!

How To Achieve Productivity Without The Burnout

Woman Doing Yoga Inside A Room

There is a single move that, if you do it consistently, can 10x your productivity and avoid burning out! Productivity isn't a result of hard work, it's a consequence of doing certain things consistently.

What could you possibly do that would multiply your productivity by 10x? Well, based on my research and testing, keep reading and allow me to share invaluable secrets and a free tool that will give you exactly that.

Studies show that the most valuable and rarest form of energy is our willpower and we have the choice to exert ourselves more or less to achieve our wants or desires. Willpower is the inner mind game. But what's the outer action that causes your thoughts to come into reality? It is constant, spaced repetition with intention.

Repetition is the MASTER!

So the rarest and most valuable form of action is constant, spaced repetition with intention. Our most valuable state of mind is that of awareness. When we are more aware, we can "broaden our perspective" and see our lives through a different lens.

We've discovered that our decisions are mostly unconscious and automatic. They are based on thought patterns that were created at a young age that we crystallized over time through habits. We have the ability to change our habits by using our willpower and practicing intentions with constant, spaced repetition.

Now, you can either practice repetition physically in your environment or you can do it in your mind. The impact is the same... Surprised?

You can visualize something you want repetitively and in time it will come into your life. Our greatest thinkers and leaders agreed that we become what we think about the most, therefore visualizing your desires consistently is the easiest way to bring something into your life rapidly and accurately. The other way is through lots of struggle and hard work.

So, what is the single best action you could take to 10x your productivity? The practice that is consistent throughout time and notable amongst great leaders, such as Tony Robbins, Oprah Winfrey and Richard Branson, is to establish a physical and mental ritual that you consistently practice in order to crystallize patterns for success and establish "mental muscle memory" over time.

You must "have it in habit in order to have it," because habits shape your character and your character shapes your destiny. If you're not practicing something every day or so, then you don't have it habitually in your mental muscle memory. If you do it habitually, you 'own it' and then it's yours to expand and grow.

So, the big secret I am speaking about is a "morning success ritual" and if done consistently, you will have more control over your time, energy and income.

When you create a consistent daily pattern of energizing your body, your mind and your potential, you will possess the endurance and the willpower to overcome any challenge and perform better than anyone who consistently hits the snooze button.

Once you have a morning success ritual under your belt, it will crystallize into a long-term habit and eventually your destiny will be brighter and more controllable. And better still, you will say "yes to your day" and never hit snooze again.

So the first 60-90 minutes of your day sets you up for success or failure throughout your day. It can literally set you up for big success. If you want great productivity, you'll want to create a personal success ritual that will allow for this... for your centeredness, optimal health and strength.

You want to be able to wilfully direct your attention any which way you want it to go. You want to be able to sustain a high level of energy throughout your day and particularly into the mid-afternoon where coffee and chocolate is the "go-to" source for a spike of energy that ends with a sugar or adrenaline crash. It's not sustainable!

Now, the basis of a morning success ritual is that you should focus on only doing things that you like and that adds value to yourself. You need to be taking care of yourself first before doing anything for anyone else to mentally and physically prepare for the day's challenges.

You can start your day with a rejuvenating meditation, some exercise and choosing how you want your day to unfold with powerful intentions. Your morning ritual will ensure that you will be super productive. Nurturing yourself makes you feel more powerful, attractive, magnetic, more self-confident and productive.

To your success and financial freedom!

Staying Focused on Your Goals

Photo of Woman Lifting Dumbbell

It is so easy to tell yourself that you are going to accomplish something new or a goal, but what happens when this task takes longer than you had allowed for? Your motivation starts to disappear and quite often you give up on the idea altogether.

It definitely can be hard staying focused on your goals. Weight loss is a fine example of this. If you have ever tried to lose weight you know your enthusiasm is so high for the first week or two. As you make lifestyle changes the pounds drop off quickly and you are feeling great about your efforts.

A few weeks into your diet you plateau and don't lose any weight. You start to eat a little more or stop exercising as much and then before you know it you have abandoned your goal and have gone back to your old habits.

There are several reasons for this. First you may not have recognized that plateauing is a perfectly normal occurrence when it comes to losing weight. Secondly did you use not losing any weight as an excuse to have that extra treat or to miss a workout? Your mind can do wonderful things and is capable of coming up with hundreds of reasons to not do something.

Quick Tips for Staying Focused and Motivated:

• Set smaller goals - small goals lead to big achievement
• Keep a calendar, food tracker or exercise planner to keep you on track
• Share your goals with someone else - accountability buddy
• Join a group of people with the same goals - inspirational group to motivate you

By creating smaller goals you won't feel as overwhelmed when your results start to dwindle or slow down. If you break this down further into weekly targets you can easily stay focused longer. It isn't as hard to do something new from a Monday to Friday as it is to think about doing it for months at a time.

Next you really need to be honest with yourself. If you have lost 15 pounds before you hit that plateau then congratulate yourself on that achievement. Focus on what you have done and not where you have to go! This is why it is often a good reason to keep photos of your weight loss journey. When you are feeling down take a look at them and remember what you did look like.

By changing your mindset to be more positive and staying focused on your goals you will create better results. If you want to skyrocket your success and improve your overall life, take action today and set your goals to live a satisfying life. Just put it on the calendar and do it, one step at a time.

The Power of Habit

Aristotle once said, "we are what we repeatedly do" and this shows the power of habit. If we are repeatedly doing things that lead to greater success, then we will be successful but if we are repeatedly doing things that hinder our success then we will not get what we want in life.

Create a Habits List

Before creating a to do list think about creating a 'habits list', this is a list of the habits you want to create and a tracker to help you track those habits. Let's say for example that it is your goal to lose weight. In order to lose weight you need to exercise regularly and so onto your habit tracker you would put exercise and then each day that you exercise you would tick off that item on your habit tracker and know that you have taken a step closer to your goal. If you just had to exercise once though it wouldn't be much help so you need to make a habit of exercising at least three times a week.

How Long Does It Take to Form a Habit?

Some people say 21 days, others say you should aim for three times that amount. Personally, I think it is better to aim for three times that amount because if you give yourself a break too early then you may find that the habit is easily broken and it is too easy to fall back into bad habits. By challenging yourself to practice this habit for longer you are ensuring that it becomes a part of your life and you are less likely to give it up as it becomes part of you.

Breaking Bad Habits

In addition to creating good habits, if you want to really achieve success then you also need to break bad habits that are hindering you from becoming all you can be. Let's go back to the weight loss example and say you have a habit of getting take-aways for dinner every night. If you want to lose weight then exercising in itself is not going to be enough, you need to learn to develop healthier eating habits and that means breaking the bad habit of getting take-aways all the time. Learn how to do meal preparation and plan healthy foods that will promote weight loss.

"We are what we repeatedly do" and so we need to create habits that are going to help us achieve success. It is not enough to simply do something once and hope it will bring you success, you need to do it repeatedly. Create habits that will help you become the person you want to be.

The Difference Between a Trait and a Habit

A "Habit" is a usual way of behaving. It is the starting point for all behaviors. All Traits, at conception, are habits. Habits are usually born out of necessity (we have to obtain a goal), or a desire (We wish to obtain a goal).

Most of the times, negative traits come as a result of necessity, not desire. Sometimes, however, using a negative trait when approaching a desire itself becomes a negative trait.

As we grow up, we encounter situations and circumstances that are new to us. Since we have no point of reference (information we gathered from past experience which helps us deal with these events), we are left with two basic choices.

Choice A- We seek advice.
We turn to those around us for guidance. Preferably someone who encountered a similar situation and handled it before. Our goal at this point is to try to use their point of reference in order to handle our situation. When we decide to follow that advice, if successful, their point of reference becomes ours. After a while, a habit has been created. A way in which to handle future similar situations.

The one thing you have to keep in mind when using this option is the following quote...

"Insanity, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
Albert Einstein

When this option is chosen, remember that you are, in essence, creating a habit that will, in time, become a trait. Make sure that your definition and the other person's definition of "success "is the same one. Your goal is to solve the situation. Not avoid it.

Choice B- We use Trial and Error method.
This method involves searching and using different ways in order to handle the situation. There is, however, correct way and an incorrect way of using this option. The correct way to remain goal oriented. In Transformational Support, this method is commonly referred to as the "Focus, Research and Action" method (FRA).

What this enables you to do is to remain encouraged, focused and determined until the situation is resolved. The goal is not only to obtain a useful point of reference but also to keep you from creating negative habits such as..
A- Covering up the issue
B-Pretending the issue will go away by itself
C-Running away from the issue
D-A combination of two or more of these.

These habits have a great potential of becoming negative habits (a usual way of behaving that results in a negative outcome). Shortly after that, they can become negative traits (A quality that separates a person from another person and usually has a negative outcome).

The specific type of habit we create (negative or Positive), will mature into a Negative or Positive Trait. Once this happens, and a trait is created, the trait has to be broken down to a habit first before replacing it with a better habit.

That being said, I must tell you that changing habits is faster and simpler than changing traits. However, most people seem to be under the impression that changing a trait is much more difficult than it actually is. Changing a habit or a trait is not easy but it is not that difficult either.

Of course, depending on the nature of the habit or the trait, the amount of time it takes to change it may vary. But not the amount of effort. In other words, what changes is your consistency (the amount of time you stay dedicate to changing a trait or habit), not how hard you work at it.

All traits are Habits at birth. Learning how to change them depends on how much we know about them.

5 Habits to Develop NOW to Be Wildly Successful In Life (By Stephanie O'Brien)

Andrea wrote me a question about my daily routines, disciplines and habits that I have in place that has led me to the successful life I have today. I LOVED the question. And today, I want to share with you my top 5 Habits to Develop Right NOW to experience a wildly successful life.

Habit 1: Value the Health of Your Soul: Make Spiritual Development your highest priority. All 7 areas of life (personal development, health, family, career, financial, social, and spiritual) are important. But, I strongly believe that the health of your soul (mind, will, and emotions) dictate the decisions you make and the person you show up to the world as.

Here what I told Andrea about my specific daily routines:

I am a person of faith that values spiritual disciplines so I would say my number ONE daily practice is to spend time in life giving content and time tested wisdom. For me, one of those sources is the Bible- specifically the book of Proverbs (a chapter a day). I also pray daily. So my spiritual health is my number one priority.

Habit 2: Become a DAILY, Life Long Learner: Entrepreneurs tend to have an insatiable appetite for learning. You don't have to be an entrepreneur to love learning, but you find it consistently among successful business leaders, ministers, and entrepreneurs.

I suggest a MINIMUM of an hour a day in learning. This falls under the personal development category in the wheel of life (in the show notes).

To expound on my personal daily learning routine, I told Andrea, I learn 2-3 hours a day. I know that sounds like a ton but its totally possible. I absorb myself in podcasts and audio books which allows me to learn while I cook, fold the laundry, work out, get ready in the morning, and drive or any other mindless task that we find ourselves doing.

Habit 3: Show Up To Serve: You've heard it before, "it's' more blessed to give than to get." Now, you need to be careful that your motive for giving is pure. You should never give out of obligation, with the intent to manipulate and hold it over someone's head, or even to make people like you. You should give out of a joyful and cheerful state of heart- just because you want to. I'm not speaking only on financial giving. I'm speaking on all forms of generosity- a favor, gift, referral, writing a testimonial, giving an encouraging word, etc are all forms of giving and serving.

Here's what I wrote to Andrea: Show up to serve. It was a total game changer for me when I first sought to serve others rather than to have others serve me. When you show up to help others get what they want, you get your socks blessed off. Helping someone succeed when you want the same thing helps you more than it helps them.

Habit 4: Watch the Company You Keep: Be careful with who you allow to be in your circle of influence. Jim Rohn has said "we become the average of the 5 people we hang around most." I have found that to be very true.

Now, this is not to say that you need to cut everyone out of your life who is not supportive and encouraging of you. If you focus on your goals and are faithful in actively and diligently pursuing your dream, you will gain more friends and the other people who don't want to come along with you will stay behind. It happens organically.

Habit 5: Get Accountability: Your strongest circle of influence should love you enough to call you out when you need it. To encourage means "to call out courage" as well as "to put courage in you". We all have blind spots. And I'm so grateful for the people in my life that can see things that hurt or hinder my success that I would not know about, if they never called it out. Find people who are safe, and kind- yet, bold and honest with you.

Those are my top 5 life habits I strongly suggest you develop today, to be wildly successful.

How To Change Yourself In Positive Ways

To change yourself in positive ways is not an easy feat but rather a hard one. In other words, most of us are weak, overwhelmed or even pathetic when it comes to making changes. But the makeover is possible. It is when you struggle with the fact that it is no longer acceptable, that you are ready for it.
Is there a change you tried to make but have not succeeded? Why people, in general, experience extreme difficulty when trying to change a single habit? What changes should you start with?

It is not an easy question. Making or creating a 'different' you can be tremendously challenging. But if think your life is currently on the wrong path, or not where you want to be, then a radical amount of constructive change in positive ways might be the best thing.

So, to change yourself requires a lot of discipline, but also knowing what your 'ideal self' looks like and recognizing your current weaknesses. It is usually a time when you take a hard look at the truth and realize that enough is enough. That is why it is uncomfortable for many people to make a change.

Beginning to Change Yourself
No one ever said it was going to be easy! To reach your ideal, you need to find role models who will help guide you along the way. If mentors are absent, read books about people you admire and begin to copy their habits. To change yourself, you need to have short and long-term goals.

In my life, there are so many changes I have gone through. And no matter if the change was small or big, each time was of importance. Studies show that to change a habit takes around 21 days, so three weeks. Yet, I had habits that took months or years to change as they were ingrained more in-depth into my unconscious.

Therefore, realize that you might be different. It may be easier or harder depending on the change or habit. You have to figure out what works for you. With that said, if you want to make a difference and develop different and new habits, start first by believing you can.

Nuts and Bolts of New Ways
I wrote several times about how to change, replace old habits, or develop new habits in positive ways, but here are the nuts and bolts:

  • Create a 30 or 90-day challenge for yourself, and focus on how to change just one habit at the time.
  • Put it out on paper, and add the obstacles and strategies you might have to overcome them.
  • Make an end goal by writing down your outcome.
  • Make it a big picture goal but divide it into multiple parts with smaller goals to achieve.
  • Put the written goal somewhere where you can see every day.
  • Commit fully and go full in.
  • Log your progress and report on it each week.
  • Relax and realize it is okay when you weaken as it happens to everyone.
  • If you fail, understand what went wrong but do not dwell on it. And then try again to change.
  • Reward every little success you make or get.

How to Change Yourself in Positive Ways
Learn from the best when it comes to transforming yourself in a different you. Again, find people who truly embody the person you want to be. Use and imitate various qualities or habits you respect from different persons to make a change.
But you have to develop positive ways of thinking. It is the first essential key to help you replace, build, and form any other habit or change you have in mind. Of course, positive thoughts alone will not lead to straight to success. On the other hand, it certainly assists you in pushing you to do the things required to succeed.

So, if you allow yourself to have negative thinking, you always end up failing. You have to think positive thoughts instead; it will give you a higher chance of success. It could be invaluable to you! Practice positive thinking again and again, until you can change and form just about any habit you need.

Exercising is Part of Change

Yes, exercise is healthy and all that, and it is also a part of any change. But how does it change your habits? Well, I walk two hours a day, every day. I am a sportsman by nature, but the last year I have done less exercise, and I got a thrombosis from being too many hours in front of my computer.

In fact, exercise makes you feel better about yourself. It clears your mind and makes you more confident. Workouts lead to a right mindset, constructive change, and better success. And you need to think in positive ways to endure exercise.

As a result, it relieves stress and gives you time to think. It then leads to better mental well-being in your life overall and helps with creativity. A friend of mine, Jonathan Dewaele is a great teacher when it comes to health and fitness.

Change by Taking Baby Steps
The key to change is making baby steps to imprint a new habit into the subconscious. Every goal or change you make should be a step toward your desired outcome. Small changes or goals should be tangible, but do not be afraid to have a big crazy goal.

Then, focus on only one small change. When you focus on one habit or goal at a time, it is more efficient. It is a powerful way of achieving your goals or changes for that matter. Focus and energy are the two vital ingredients for making a necessary change or the desired objective.

Therefore, pick one of the habits to focus on first. Break it into smaller aims and choose an action you can do today. Keep doing it every day until your goal is accomplished. Then get to the next modest target and so on. In some instances, turn them into habits until your routine is ingrained. And then focus on the following goal to achieve.

Change of Daily Routine
Change seems simple, and yet it is hard. You need to transform and create a new daily routine for yourself, which will make an enormous difference in your life. It means developing a habit for the morning, afternoon and evening.

Thus, it will revolutionize your life because a new routine will help you to simplify your days, focus on what is most important, and build the life you desire. In short, you have to eliminate the non-essential in your life.

First of all, you need to identify the things in your life that are most important to you, or what you love the most. Then eliminate all other stuff. It makes things simpler and gives you the space to focus on what is essential.

Cultivating Kindness as a Change
Yes, cultivating and being kind is a great habit to have. Try to focus on kindness each day for a month or two and see what sorts of profound changes enter in your life. It will change you in positive ways, and over the long run, you will see people act towards you differently and even treat you better.

It is called karma! How can you cultivate a kindness habit? Well, first, make it your goal to say or do something kind for a living being each day. It does not matter if it is human or animal. During the day, when an opportunity presents itself, be kind or do a caring act.

Therefore, each time you talk, interact or work with somebody, make an effort to be kind and compassionate. Finally, attempt to go beyond and into more significant acts of compassion. You could volunteer to help those in need or animal causes.

A Final Word on Change and New Ways
So, begin to change your wrong habits in positive ways and accept any small success. Each time you reach a short goal or transformation, you get closer to your outcome. It is a great thing!

However, do not get too satisfied when it happens. Take some time to appreciate the change and keep moving forward to your next desire. These new habits will change your life. It will help you genuinely root the constructive changes in your everyday life.

My closing words are to keep making new goals. Push and drive yourself to become a better version of the person you are now. To change yourself in positive ways and get better habits, you need to have a vivid picture of your final goal and then break it into smaller goals. And then, let it become a routine that gets ingrained and becomes a natural part of you. I know you can do it!

Receptive Behavior

Ultimately, habits are just an affirmation, really. With that, this article begins. Yes, we have a choice of what habits to have in life and existence as our path is our own. I mean, it is a choice of being drunken and unconsciously doing the bad and letting the bad happen or doing the good and making that happen.

When reality is thought about, sometimes even the best of us and especially the worst of us think that things are out of our control. Well, through habits good or bad, they really are. Sometimes, I think of reality like the grooves of a compact disc, wax record or tape recording as I am sure that many do, only the habit patterns and "grooves" are more complicated and permanent, and there is more of choice in outcome also. So, I can honestly say: If it is good, it is our virtue. If it is bad, it is our fault.

It starts with behavior and ends with a habit however you want to put it. If it is bad, like alcohol or cigarettes, it is called a negative addiction. If it is good, like exercise, cleanliness or something beneficial, it is called a positive routine. My point is, it all starts with behavior without question and ends with a habit, good or bad. Now, chance has its place, but the habit is the main thing that causes the rest of it to work or not work in its totality whatever the plans ultimately. Sure, things may not go exactly to plan, but the total workings of something depends on the attitude it is done with. You may or may not agree with me totally, but you have to admit, behavior and habit have something to do with everything we do, achieve or have or the lack of it.

So, I would like to end this way: Receptive behavior is always a positive, especially when genuinely understand what is going on and how to act accordingly in the situation and beyond it. The only time when it is a negative is when we are receptive to the wrong things as mentioned above, but when we take in the right things and take them to heart as habits, that is when receptiveness is the best. After all, good habits are easier in the longest run than bad habits, although bad habits may look easier in a destructive "quickly power grabbing" way sometimes. Good habits give you life, bad habits take it away.

How to Eliminate Self-Sabotage for Good!

As we become more self-aware we start noticing patterns of self-sabotage in our lives. Self-sabotage occurs when we find ourselves getting very close to reaching a goal, finding happiness in a relationship, success in our careers, or even becoming debt free, and then just when we are on the right path right where we want to be, BOOM! Something bad happens to stop us dead in our tracks forcing us to detour without the opportunity to reach success, fulfill an accomplishment, experience deep love, or become financially free. Examples could be that we suddenly become very ill right when we are about to reach an important goal or even right after we have reached an important goal, or right before we go on a vacation a million issues come up that keep us from fully enjoying our away time, or perhaps you are just dollars away from eliminating that credit card debt and then all of a sudden an unexpected bill is received that requires you to place another charge on your card... Some may say that these are just bad coincidences that keep happening over and over, but I don't believe in coincidences. {"In mathematics, two angles that are said to coincide fit together perfectly. The word coincidence does not describe luck or mistakes. It describes that which fits together perfectly." - from the book Power of Intention by Wayne Dyer} In essence, these coincidences, these 'happenings', are matching our exact vibrational alignment. Remember, we create our realities and the Universe is responding to the way we 'feel', our personal vibrational signature. If there is any un-healed areas of your life, and most likely there is, your sub-conscious mind is likely harboring your day to day experience while attempting to deal with un-dealt matters. In order to eliminate the counterproductive sabotage behavior, you must correct the issues at their root while taking a pro-active and positive approach.

Here's how you can eliminate Self-sabotage for good:

1. Become aware of the sabotage pattern. Voice this in some way either verbal or written. Ask yourself (and answer): In a perfect life, would I do this thing at all? If so, what would I change to make it more enjoyable? If not, what would I rather do?

2. Take ownership and stop blaming the rest of the world for your problems. Then forgive yourself and really mean it.

3. Hire a good Therapist or Shadow Coach to help heal experiences from your childhood and past.

4. Remember, it doesn't matter if you fall off the horse. All that matters is how long you take before jumping back on. #neverstop

5. Keep your main focus on moving forward and envision your ideal scenario (this is key!)

In many cases people sabotage their selves over their entire life without consciously realizing that they are running in circles. In other cases we come to our senses and realize that we are sabotaging ourselves, but we don't do anything about it - we don't know what needs to be done and we remain stuck weaving in and out of bad habits. Now that you know what to do, print this article and cut out the five steps above. Keep them in a journal, planner, bulletin board or somewhere you will be reminded from time to time.
