The Keys To Getting What You Want (By Mark Huddleston)

I would like to let you know what qualifies me to mentor you. My name is Dr. Mark L. Huddleston. I started my exciting journey April 14th, 1998. I experience a quantum shift in paradigms. I went from disbelieving to believing. I went from being a pessimist to an optimist. Instead of seeing the glass half empty, I began to see the glass half full and opportunity all around me. I will never forget that day as long as I live. I remember waking up in a total panic. I remember that I was totally broke. I was bringing home $7,000 a month and my rent on my apartment was only $800 a month. After all my bills were paid I had over $5,000 to myself to spend, so why was I broke?

I had to do some soul searching. I had to try to make sense of what was happening in my life before it was too late. My health was failing me, and my mental state of mind was dwindling also. The only difference between me and millions of people from around the world was that I was facing my demons and trying to make sense out of doing so.

During my soul searching, I recognized that all people were given the number one power ever given to any animal on this planet. That power, is the power to choose. Even if you choose not to choose, you have made a choice to choose.

I found out in a few hours that I had no clue to what I wanted out of life. I also found out that I was supporting a bunch of freeloaders that lived in my apartment complex. I found that I was buying my so-called friends. I also found that I was the one initiating the contact all the time with those so-called friends. The only time they ever seemed to come around was then they wanted something. They never seemed to come around when they had money or anything of value. This was a wake-up call for me. I realized that I did not have any friends at all. Even the members of my family were scum. I recognized that I always initiated the contact with them also.

From that sunny day in April on, I would never be the same person that I presently was. I made a vow with God that I would change and be the best that I could possibly be in anything that I ventured into. From that sunny day in April I swore to become engaged in personal self-development.

I realize on that sunny in April that I lived in the greatest country on the planet and there was no reason why I should be in the predicament that I was in. I knew that there was something holding me back from my purpose on earth.

The first thing I did was to sit down and set some attainable goals. Then I had to come up with a list of things I wanted out of life. I concluded that if I wanted anything out of life I first had to know what I wanted. Not knowing what you want is like starting out on a trip without knowing your destination and what direction to travel in. Your chance of reaching an unknown destination in an unknown direction by driving on an unknown road for an unknown length of time is just plain absurd.

What is needed is you to have a destination in life. This would be your life goal. You need a target to aim at. How can you hit your target if you don't first take aim at it? That's like a blind man entering a skeet shooting contest and expecting to win. The reason why people fail is that they do not know what they truly want. So, they wander aimlessly through life looking for something that never materializes. They go around in circles, chasing their own tail, only to come back to where they first started. They think they're going up, when they're really sinking down.

So, the first thing you want to do is, find out what you want to do and make a plan to accomplish it. What is your end-game? Are you looking for happiness? Are you looking for love? Are you wanting to be successful? Do you want to be wealthy? What is it that you want? Just know, that you can have anything you desire, but you first have to know what you want before you can obtain it.

I found out that getting what you want in life can be as simple as making the right choices. You must decide what, when, and how you will go about getting what you want. Consciously or subconsciously, your mind is continuously confronted by the necessity of making choices. You must decide if you will do something or not. There is no such thing as not deciding. Even if you choose not to choose, you have made a choice. Choosing to do nothing is a choice which may well determine whether or not you get what you want, just ask anyone that has dropped out of school!

Always know that you cannot avoid the necessity of constantly making choices. If you try to avoid or delay making a choice, you are choosing to do nothing and that is a choice which can affect your life as much, or perhaps more, than deciding to do something. If you do nothing you are guaranteed to be nothing. If you do something, you are guaranteeing yourself the possibility of getting what you want. You must choose which action to take, which group to join, which cause to advocate, which job to take, which city to live in, and which life style you choose to live.

This article cannot make these decisions for you because these choices will have to be your own personal choices to make. This article gives you the knowledge to make you aware of your choices you make and the consequences that come along with the choices you make.

The last key to getting what you want would be self-development. You need to learn how to get what you want. If you don't know how to get what you want, you will never obtain it. I began to pick up every book I could get my hands on that interest me. I wanted more out of life, so I began to absorb anything and everything that I came in contact with.

I began getting mentored by some of the greatest minds in the world today. People like, Brian Tracy, Tony Robbins, Zig Ziglar, Les Brown, Jim Rohn, Robert Kiyosaki, Steven Covey, and Jack Canfield, just to name a few. Can you imagine being mentored by people like this? If you seek, you will find. Just know, when the student shows up, the teacher will appear.

I learned what the law of attraction can do for a person. I learned what you put out is what you receive back on most cases. This law stands true to this day. There are several elements that you may want to apply to your daily routine.

1. You will want to use the power of positivity to propel you into successful action and enable you to motivate others to act in your behalf to help you get what you want. Positive attitude is what ignites the soul and gives you the personal power to turn others on! Positive attitude will give you the lift you need to get what you want.

2. The methods shared with you in this article taught me about personal development which is the easiest, fastest, way to improve the quality of your life. Your friends, family, and the people that you know that you want to impress will noticed the positive change within you once you begin your personal improvement journey. Only through self-development can you earn, deserve and get what you want in life. Know that your rewards in life are in direct proportion to the services you provide.

3. Understand, that you cannot obtain the help and win the required cooperation of others by pressure or by force. Pressure creates resistance. Force creates enemies. And resistance and enemies are things you don't need in your life if you want to get what you want in life.

You can obtain the enthusiastic cooperation of others by using the power of self-development and the power of attraction to get others to do what you want them to do. So, right now you will want to get started. It is up to you and you only to create a positive boldness in your life. Once this begins to happen you will begin to radiate an enthusiastic aura from your being. You will begin to look like a success! You will begin to act like a success! You will begin to be successful by undertaking in the many things you will learn by investing in yourself.

Unawareness of Potentialities - A Barrier for Self Development

Human beings are endowed with various intrinsic potentialities. Some acquire abilities through sheer hard work and keep them up with continuous practice and effort. Intrinsic potentialities are what people are born and inherited with. They are with them till they die and transfer them to the next generation through offspring. But how many are aware of their abilities. Almost all the people go through their life without understanding the full range of their inherited powers. Instead they touch everything that they are not clever at. We see a society with people who are engaged in complete irrelevant jobs unaware of what they capable of doing. People who are clever at cookery cleaning the hotel and cleaners trying to cook. Potentialities inherited could be developed by the possessor through a continuous dialogue within himself and the external environment. Unawareness of potentialities may lead to complete failure of one's life efforts and non recognition by the society obstructing the self development.

Cockroaches that are fallen into kitchen sinks move round and round inside the kitchen sink to get out of it. They try that way many hours till they get exhausted and finally die. They have the potential to fly. But they never seem to be thinking to free themselves from the danger by flying out of it. This reminds us of that having intrinsic potentials is not enough, they should be evoked kindled and used. Potentials are there within people but they are rarely evoked never used. How much developed are the education systems in certain countries to recognize these intrinsic potentialities in school going children?

The leader of the flock of birds that caught in the hunters net was aware of the potential of the individual bird and advised them to work as a group to escape from the danger. They did as the leader advised and flew together with the net into the sky with the net. When they were flying exactly over a tree they made a down flight and let the net entangle in the tree. Thus they all were able to get rid from the danger. Had the leader been unaware of the potentials of the birds, what would have happened to the birds. Therefore what is more important is being aware of your potentials and evoke and use them for the self development. Never think "I can't", "It is impossible", "useless trying" These mental cataracts would impair your vision of possibilities.

Inferiority Complex & Your Life Purpose (By Shamala Tan)

I had a weekend of lectures on in Depth Psychology by lecturers from ISAP Zurich. This is my third year and delighted to be still on the journey of learning.

Over this weekend, we had the most intriguing of lectures, with a focus on Complexes -- from an inferiority complex, mother complex, and so on. The lecturer Isabelle Meier shared that: Complexes arises because our basic needs (from childhood) are not met.

Our basic needs include attachment (all babies/children need an attachment figure), autonomy, self-worth, play & spontaneity and meaning. As I think about all the people I know, including myself, I can see all kinds of complexes and how they all play up in our lives! And they do stem from one of those basic needs not met.

In today's sharing, I like to touch on Inferiority Complex and how this plays up and the impact it has on our journey towards our life purpose.

OK, so some people may come up with this notion that having an inferiority complex is part of the purpose. But let's not go there. I do not think that making everything that is in us, as part of the purpose, helps us to move past them. It sounds a little like a cop out, at least to me.

For the sake of this discussion, I like to see one's purpose as separate from all of our f***ed-upness (can't find a better word to describe this!)

Think about this, if one suffers from an inferiority complex, there's a very high chance that they also suffer from a superiority complex. Because these two are polarized and the human mind has a tendency to flip-flop. To experiment, I like you to imagine yourself in a situation where you are very good at what you do, and that the people around you are not quite good at the same task, you may feel good about yourself, proud maybe, and a tinge of superiority over others? Or you may go to the other extreme of expressing excessive self-effacement.

Or let's say another situation you may find yourself in for eg. a networking event and you do not know anyone, and you are not really dressed for the occasion. Now if you are not prepped with self-confidence, there's a chance that you will feel uncomfortable, not just emotionally but physically. And when you meet someone who is less confident than you, and perhaps dressed even more shabbily than you, your self-confidence suddenly goes up!

This is a sure sign that you have not come to a space of complete ease with self-confidence and that the complexes are still acting up!

The truth is, most of us experienced what I describe above in our teenage years, but many have not moved past that stage. With all the latest technology to our avail, it makes it even easier to be harder on ourselves -- comparing ourselves with others, trying to one-up each other on social media, or trying to look better in selfies and so on.

With all of these opportunities for vanity, we need better-coping strategies and spiritual-psychological practices to stabilise ourselves internally and not allow ourselves to flip-flop between inferiority and superiority complexes. This will help us to go further than just personal development because how we give back to the world through our life purpose is also dependent on it.

I'm sure you have come across people who use their life purpose as a way to feel better about themselves. They may be speakers on the world stage suffering from a chronic case of superiority-inferiority complexes. I have come across too many. While I appreciate what they do, I personally feel there is so much more within themselves waiting to be unleashed and they have more to offer to us all, if these complexes are better managed.

Our soul or spirit, or whatever you want to call it, holds so much to give and share. We could well be the bottle-neck and the barrier, barring our full potential to be expressed.

There are many strategies to deal with this - and you may like to speak with me personally on this, I'm open to sharing via a 20min video conference call. Don't worry, I won't be selling you anything! But I will give you suggestions to do something eg a book, a course, see someone. Go here to sign up: https://meetme.so/Shamala (do check your spam box in case the confirmation email goes right in there!)

Anyway, in essence, my message to you today is to be aware of your inferiority/superiority complexes and how it is impacting who you are, and what you have to offer to the world today.

Peace.

5 Positive Tips to Dismiss Negativity In Your Life

Photography of a Woman Meditating

Life is not full of roses and positivity all the time, there are moments when even the most inspired person feels down.

Here are 5 tips that I have used to help drag me out of a negative or 'bad' vibe and got me back on track to some good vibes. When we are in flow with the positive vibes in our own space, that is when the magic of opportunities start to happen.

1. Develop your mindset. Reading self development books, watching you tube motivation videos in areas where you feel you need to strengthen yourself will help to improve your mindset and confidence.

You are More than you think you are. Yes you are. You just have to look at ALL of your qualities. If you can't see what they are, ask your friends, they will tell you the honest truth.

2. If you are not failing, you are not doing. By this I mean we all have to at least TRY something, right? If you are not trying SOMETHING then ultimately you are not doing ANYTHING, which means you are going no where.

However, when you go all out and try, but it doesn't quite turn out right, then FAILING and learning from that failure, ensures you are MOVING FORWARD!

We have to move forward from our failures. Do you know that most successful people fail loads of times, but they learn from each failure and next time turn it into a success. So can you.

3. See the Positive in every Negative. Let's face it, shit happens, we do get dealt some awful blows at a time when things seem to be going really really well. However, sometimes you just have to look deep into the situation to find out what the positive was. For instance, the other day my son had a car accident, (not his fault) and he felt so down, in fact distraught was more close to the truth... but what came out of it was that his car was fixed and had newer grills put on it. Now a few months before he was 'moaning' about the scratches and little stone dents on his bonnet, but now his bonnet was getting fixed as part of the claim. To me, that was a positive out of the negative, also the fact that a lesson learned was to be more aware of other drivers and what they are doing, and don't second guess that they do know what they are doing!

4. Let it Go! Yep, just like the track Frozen, if you hold onto bad vibes, negative feelings, sadness too long it will bring you down, and possibly push those around you away. So just 'let it go. There is nothing you can do about it anyway, but reflect and learn from the situation. Go out and have fun, watch a comedy, find the funny moment in the 'bad' event, do something to make you smile, the negative vibes will soon leave your body.

5. Look Forward, not back. Listen we were created with eyes in front of our heads, not behind us, so that gives you a clue as to where you should be looking right? Too often people get stuck in the past and keep looking back over old issues / problems. If you keep looking back, you won't see a new door or opportunities opening up for you.

If you do some if not all of these things, your life will turn itself around and you will discover that there is more in life, through the lessons life dishes out. Yes every trial and challenge is a lesson life has for YOU especially, and if you don't take head of that lesson life keeps repeating the lesson until you GET IT!

7 Tips For Choosing a Coach (By Michelle Perkins)

Two Women Holding Pen

Coaching is a remarkable process, and it is no wonder that it's caught on and taken off in the last decade. Ten years ago, not many people understood what a life coach was. In 2018, we have to explain less what coaching is, and instead reveal the greatness that could come of working with a talented coach.

I have multiple coaches and coaching/mastermind groups that I participate in. Early on, I worked with coaches to gain knowledge and learn skills, with the idea that I would move on to implement and work on my own.

I did stop receiving coaching intermittently, but always found that the periods without the support, accountability and guidance of my coaches were not as productive, well directed or enjoyable.

The coaches in my life now are the exact right people for me at this time. I feel blessed to have found them (although I don't believe there was any accident in that) and I take the relationships seriously.

Coaching is an investment in real results and change. Whatever the investment amount, it is always an investment in yourself and that differentiates it, in my mind, from many spending options. Coaching is all about the client and every dollar you spend should come back to you in both income and self development (often the part that feels most valuable).

It simply improves the quality of life in a very holistic way if done well.

"Coaching comes from the world of sports and the arts, where athletes and actors receive coaching so that their work will become extraordinary instead of just okay. Coaching gives clients a secret weapon, a competitive edge that their un-coached peers do not enjoy. Coaching takes people from good to great. Coaching is not for dysfunctional people. It is not here to heal the sick and wounded. It's there to help people reach their higher callings and unlived lives, the lives they are not living because they are trapped in their own isolated self-critical egos. Coaching expands their world." Steve Chandler - The Prosperous Coach

So how do you choose a coach. What should a person look for when making that investment in themselves?

Your coach becomes a significant partner in your life's journey, and selecting someone goes beyond qualifications. As coaching has become more prevalent, the number of coaches has increased, as have the certification programs. The field has become easy to enter so choosing a coach can be confusing.

When you are seeking a coach, some of the recommendations I and my colleagues would make so you can experience the highest level of coaching magic are:

1. Ask a coach to give you the experience of coaching with them before you decide to commit. In a conversation, you can get a sense of coaching style, relatability, and listening skills. By the end of the conversation, you should know more about them, but more importantly, you should know something new about yourself.

2. A person who will push you beyond your self imposed limits and see what you can't, but should, see. If someone can hold you as powerful, even when you cannot, they are more likely to help you achieve your goals and discover greatness within you.

3. Your coach needs to be fearless, and more concerned with your growth than with being liked. It's important the coach be able to suggest bold action and address issues that are below the surface. Every client has a "goal behind the goal" and the right coach will be able to uncover the deeper level desires of the client.

4. The person you choose as your coach should relish a challenge, be fun as well as serious, and set a high bar for you and your life. They must believe in you and your ability to achieve the goals you want to reach. They should also be able to see all of your strengths and understand that success in life is more than achieving a single goal. A holistic approach is best, and success on your terms should be the criteria.

5. Are you looking for both self discovery and advisement? Some coaches lead you to your own conclusions and actions with powerful coaching questions. Others may offer more ideas and advice on what to do and how to do it. Some coaches combine the two, and are intuitively understanding of when to ask questions and when to offer advice.

6. How much coaching does your prospective coach receive? If someone doesn't use the services they are offering, it begs some questions. It is critical that coaches work on themselves and consequently are less likely to bring their own issues into the coaching work.

7. Are you interested in taking action? There may be a great deal of clarity needed or decisions to make before you feel ready to act, but nonetheless, action is typically one of the desired outcomes of the coaching process. There are times when people are deeply disturbed or depressed and need to understand their feelings on a deeper level and therapy is a better option. A coach with integrity, who is aware of the difference, will be able to recognize specific needs.

Coaching is one of the greatest support services you can treat yourself to. There is nothing like having an objective, dedicated and trusted advisor whose main objective for you is success (as your define it) with no other agenda. A person who will push you beyond your self imposed limits and see what you can't see about and for you.

If you want the fullest life possible, coaching isn't a luxury as much as a very smart investment in yourself.

Struggling to Be Inspired? Here Are Some Tips!

It can be very challenging if you are pursuing a goal or vision and at some point of your journey your inspiration runs dry. This has happened so many times for me but it is about learning each time, the various methods that work to get that inspiration back. Here are the few that work for me so could possibly work for you too:

Changing your surrounding to what you love - I am a lover of nature so to be surrounded by trees and the river is a medication for my inspiration. Spend some time in your chosen place letting your mind wander. You will find that suddenly your inspiration is heightened, your stress reduced and your negative emotions will subside.

Meditation - There are so many ways to do this and exploring it can be fun too. The popular types of meditation used by many are by using music, guidance tapes, scriptures and yoga. This helps us free our mind from all pressures and worries of reality, allowing you to dig deep into your creativity.

Read a book - Reading something that you are passionate about can expand your knowledge and help you see different perspectives. When learning you tend to question all knowledge further and become hungry for more information. This triggers your inspiration and you will be amazed by how much too.

Networking - Research on different companies, mentors and individuals who are living their passions as you wish to. By learning from them and exchanging knowledge as well as experience can give you wisdom and can inspire you to continue on your journey.

Self-Development - Developing yourself meaning gaining wisdom, looking at your past for lessons to use in the future and growing as a person can really boost your inspiration. The more we learn to love ourselves and be confident, our lives can change drastically as you are more likely to face your fears to reach your dreams and always seek ways to keep moving forward. When you are able to analyse your past and see your strength then your inspiration will come too.

Conventions, Talks, Sermons and Lectures - These are brilliant and a quick fix to inspiration. You learn new knowledge, challenge acquired knowledge and leave feeling like you are ready to share that knowledge to the world. Do not be surprised if you suddenly tell everyone you know about it.

Share your skills - Sharing your skills and experience shows you that all you have acquired and developed so far are so valuable. Seeing value for all you have done so far will inspire you to keep going further and to become knowledgeable.

Have getaways - We need a moment to just shut ourselves from the world and reboot. The society we live in can be very demanding as well as trying to pursue our goals and visions in our spare time. Having a time out where there are no accesses to social media, work emails and from everyday life can benefit our inner beings so much. You will feel brand new and refreshed ready to continue on your journey inspired.

Living a life serving others and acting kind to those around you including strangers- When we live to serve, make a difference and showing love to anyone we see (whether familiar or not) you will see your perspective on life change. You become empathetic, compassionate and even more loving. You will feel affected by those suffering and those faced with injustice. You will see yourself changing - This also means your inspiration will get a big kick too!

Finding new activities and events - Volunteering and being active in the community of what you are passionate about will definitely strengthen your inspiration. You will learn new perspectives and see your skills develop too.

So the next time you feel dry, low or needing new ideas to maintain your inspiration then try these methods and you will not feel disappointed.
