What To Do When You Are Feeling Uneasy

Men's Blue and White Crew-neck Shirt

It's normal to feel uneasy from time to time. While you are feeling low, nothing much happens.Too much depression might lead to stress disorders. Sometimes, it needs medical attention which can have unwanted side effects and dependence. But there are also subtle ways to get rid of that gnawing and uncomfortable feeling of uneasiness.

When you are uneasy, find a place to be alone and reflect. When you are with family and friends, be careful with your words; you might regret later. Your thoughtless choice of words might lead to irreconcilable disputes with those people who are closest to you. Your proactive approach might not be well-taken and that you will need to apologize to regain your relationship.

If possible avoid being with the company of others. Try to work alone to avoid time-wasting discussions or arguments. Settle yourself in a quiet place where you can reflect. Exercising mindful meditation can be more powerful than general stress management techniques. Just sit quietly and focus. Meditation is found to have profound effects on your anxiety levels.

Allow your body to have lots of quiet time and sleep to thwart from feeling unnecessary tension. When you relax, all the negative energies will subside. Allow happy thoughts to dominate your mind. Never expect too much from everyone. It can only increase your anxiety.

Physical exercise helps you deal with your emotions. Regular exercise improves mood, sleep patterns, relieves stress and improve self-esteem. There are many types of exercise you can choose from. One is through dancing. You can express what you feel without saying it. Taking a quick walk might also be a helpful solution.

Drinking more coffee can easily get you nervous. Try to eliminate or lessen this habit. Too much caffeine consumption can actually create anxiety in situations where you wouldn't normally be anxious. It can also trigger insomnia; thereby increasing your uneasiness.

A little anxiety is fine, as long as you know how to handle your feelings. But long-term anxiety may cause serious health problems. It can also affect your daily life and your relationships.

The best way to deal when you are feeling down is to figure out the underlying cause of your emotion. The constant pressures of having financial freedom can tire you. Try to change your mindset. Stop thinking too much for a moment and do your best to achieve your goals one at a time.

Uneasiness stems from uncertainty. We worry too much. So, try redirecting your frame of mind to something more productive to reduce your stress.

Emotional Dependency: Why Being Emotionally Dependent Is Unhealthy

Do you need someone to purge your emotions? Do you always need a shoulder to cry on? These kinds of emotional dependencies can be unhealthy. Why? Read on to find out.

It is unhealthy because you always would be needing someone, be in anticipation of someone, waiting for someone to express your agonies and woes. And that can be stressful and exhausting. That is why it is unhealthy. It is a lot to take in.

How about telling yourself that you can be okay in two minutes? And let yourself cry and drain your emotions. You actually take less than two minutes to change your mindset. After you cry for one minute or less, take your time to tune your thoughts into positive ones.

So why do you need someone to cry out your woes? As I have shown you can stand on your own two feet and let yourself cry privately. No one needs to know what your sorrows are about as long as you can deal with them yourself. Of course, you can share with best friends but the best thing is to drain your emotions yourself. Why show your sad face to the world? Tune into happy thoughts, and starting from a stoic poise to a happy one, you are ready to face the world again.

There's nothing wrong in relying on friends for sharing your upsets. But your friends like to see you happy and smiling. Besides, not everyone is good at sympathizing and consoling. Apart from that, you are good to cry by yourself. I don't see anything wrong with it.

To make yourself feel better, start watching a comedy movie or reading a comic book. You won't be able to concentrate at first. But gradually yes, you will get into it. Yes, you will be interested in watching or reading it. Now is the time to call friends and tell them what a great comedy movie or book you watched or read and recommend it to them.

Nothing is so serious so long you feel yourself in the present. Right in the present you have no problems. Just let yourself be in good spirits and be solution-oriented. Think of how your problems can be solved. Find a way - maybe more than one way because where there is a will, there is a way.

Implement your solution(s). Something will lead to another and finally something will work out. So you see there is no need to cry or feel helpless in the first place.

Only negative thoughts are the sources of your problems. So try to think positive as much as you can. Do positive things such as, cooking your favorite dish, listening to your favorite song or writing a chapter of a book you intend to author. There are hundreds of ways of thinking positive and doing positive things. The more you think and do positive, the fewer your problems.

I will end on a lovely note - always remember:

"Laugh, and the world laughs with you;

weep, and you weep alone."

Being a pessimist and constantly trying to have happy thoughts is not easy, especially if you have always checked out the glass as half empty. However, has pessimism obtained you anything?

The worst impact of negative thoughts is to always place the individual in fear, battle, or temper mode. And also, just what occurs when you are constantly being challenged by these emotions? It just ends up adversely affecting your health, your individual, as well as your work life.

When you begin conditioning your mind to create happy thoughts, you instantly begin noticing additional possibilities in life and experience an overall sensation of contentment. Testify to this, by considering one disappointment in life that you had undergone, then select one favorable point you gained from it. Doesn't it ease off the adverse feelings a bit?

You can check out hundreds of self-help publications to get a positive mindset, however it is all worthless unless you take the initial step, or at least take some form of action.

The initial step to any type of long-lasting adjustment is to make a strong decision, meaning that you cannot look back at it, or give up when it's not working. You absolutely need to continue with whatever it is that you sincerely want to achieve. If you have that attitude, you will most certainly succeed in what I am about to tell you about...

- How To Develop A Positive Mindset With Happy Thoughts -

a) Understanding Your Thoughts and Feelings is absolutely paramount. Lots of people have no clue on just how they actually feel on the inside. They commonly just have the tendency to go with the flow. You therefore need to analyze your thoughts and feelings.

Are your ideas mainly tied with jealousy for somebody, or are you mainly thinking of a means to earn truckloads of money? Our thoughts define us, especially considering that it is these thoughts and feelings that develop into action. You cannot change something you are not acquainted with.

b) Believe in Your Own Self. You have the power to change not just yourself but also the whole world. Gandhi changed the destiny of an entire nation simply with his principles. Consistently keep in mind that if you desire something, you can achieve it.

Whenever questions or doubts creep in, ensure on your own that you have the capacity to move hills and do not accept any kind of negative thoughts in your head. You are in control of what happens in your mind.

c) Change the Negative Thoughts to Happy Thoughts. When you analyze your ideas and challenge your beliefs, it's time to switch out the negatives with good ones. For all the unfavorable thoughts that pass your brain, figure out exactly how you could transform them into happy thoughts.

d) Get Rid of the Negative Influences. Subconsciously we tend to imitate our peers. If you are spending your time around those who will influence you negatively, you will most certainly start vocalizing to their tunes. Have you seen exactly how such individuals simply suck the joy out from you?

Understand that these people are going through individual battles of their own and really feel a sort of vicious enjoyment when they bring an individual to the level where they are. Never ever be this person, and keep a distance between you and these people as best as you can.

e) Do Something Positive Every Day. This is irrespective of whether it is buying coffee for a co-worker or taking a friend out to lunch. Not only will it make the world a better place but it will certainly make you a much better and favorable individual as well. You don't have to do something splendid, as even a little activity such as even waking up with a smile on your face will be enough.

Also instead of waking up cranky because it's too early, wake up with happy thoughts like "I'm thankful I can get up every day and go to a job" or "Today will be a good day".

f) Focus on Positive Affirmations for Yourself. Decide on an affirmation like 'I'm going to be positive everyday', or 'I am a favored, delighted, healthy and also balanced individual today'. The idea is to choose one that makes you feel closer to the purpose, and also instigates you to transform into a positive individual. It's amazing what little bits of positive affirmations can do for you.

Our lives should be under-scored by consistent happy thoughts that are complemented by positive affirmations, as this will immensely contribute to a prosperous and fulfilling time, whilst on our precious earth.

Happy Thoughts: Here are the things proven to make you happier:

What’s the secret to a head full of happy thoughts?

Time to round up the research on living a happy life to see what we can use.
First, yeah, a good chunk of happiness is controlled by your genes but there’s a lot you can do to make yourself happier. Many of these techniques have been repeatedly tested and even worked with the clinically depressed.

Gratitude, Gratitude, Gratitude
I can’t emphasize this one enough. Showing gratitude for the good things you have is the most powerful happiness boosting activity there is.
It will make you happier.
It will improve your relationships.
It can make you a better person.
It can make life better for everyone around you.
Bronze medallists are happier than silver medallists. Why? They feel grateful to get a medal at all.
Every night before you go to bed write three good things that happened to you that day. Jotting those down is pretty much all it takes to get a boost in well-being over time.
There’s a second lesson here: the reverse is also true. Keeping track of the bad things will make you miserable. A convenient memory is a powerful thing. Do not train your brain to see the negative, teach it to see the positive.
Wanna make yourself and someone else extremely happy? Try a gratitude visit. Write someone a letter thanking them and telling them how much what they have done for you means. Visit them and read it in person. It’s a proven happiness WMD.

Do what you are good at as often as you can
Signature strengths” are the things you are uniquely good at and using them increases happy thoughts. Exercising signature strengths is why starving artists are happier with their jobs.
Think about the best possible version of yourself and move toward that. Signature strengths are the secret to experiencing more “flow” at work and in life.

Spend as much time as possible with people you like
Spend as much time as possible with people you like. The happiest people are social with strong relationships. Not spending more time with people we love is something we regret the most.
Being able to spend more time with friends provides an increase in happiness worth up to an additional $133,000 a year.
Being compassionate makes us happier (causal, not correlative.) Share the best events of your day with loved ones and ask them to do the same. And compliment them — we love compliments more than money or sex.
But I’m an introvert, you say? A little bit of extraversion here would do you good. Happiness is more contagious than unhappiness so with amount of exposure to others, well-being scales.

Money is good. Many other things are better.
After about 75K a year, money has minimal effects on happiness. Read that again. Not that money won’t increase happiness but if you want to be happier, your time and energy are better spent elsewhere. It will not increase your moment to moment mood.
The Amish are as satisfied as billionaires and slum dwellers can be surprisingly happy. The happiest of all income groups is people making 50-75k a year. Money is good but wanting money can be bad.

Give
Giving makes us happier than receiving. In fact, it can create a feedback loop of happiness in your life. Volunteering makes us happier and can therefore be the most selfless way to be selfish.
Helping others reach their goals brings joy. Doing nice things for others today can literally make you happier for the rest of the week.

Savour
Take time to really enjoy the good things. What are the best ways to savour?
  • Positive mental time travel: Happy memories or looking forward to something
  • Being present: Not letting your mind wander and being absorbed in the moment.
Savouring is one of the secrets of the happiest people. Focusing on the limited time you have in this life is a good way to remind you to savour what is important.

Strive
You don’t usually do what brings you joy, you do what is easy. Set ambitious goals and strive. Thinking about what happens to you in terms of your self-esteem will crush you — look at life as growing and learning.
Sitting on the couch watching TV does not make you happy. You are happier when you are busy and probably have more fun at work than at home. Thinking and working can beat sad feelings. A wandering mind is not a happy mind. Mastering skills is stressful in the short term and happiness-boosting in the long term.

Be optimistic, even to the border of delusion
Optimism is key. Yes, pessimism softens the blow of bad news but it isn’t worth it.
Does this make you out of touch with reality? Maybe but being a little deluded is good:
  • People with positive illusions about their relationship are more satisfied, score higher on love and trust and have fewer problems.
  • Overconfidence increases productivity and improves teamwork.
  • Self-deception has been associated with stress reduction, a positive self-bias, and increased pain tolerance, all of which could enhance motivation and performance during competitive tasks.“
Love means being slightly deluded. Happy people believe their partner is a little more awesome than they really are. Someone you think is great who also thinks you’re great — it’s one of the primary things you should look for in a marriage partner.
Thinking happy thoughts, giving hugs and smiling sound like unscientific hippie silliness but they all work.

Fundamentals are fundamental
Cranky? Before you blame the world, eat something. Take a nap — it can purge negative emotions and increase happy thoughts. Sleep is vital because your mood in the morning affects your mood all day.
Get your sleep. You cannot get away with cheating yourself on sleep and being tired makes it harder to be happy.

Frequency beats intensity
Lots of little good things is the path to happiness. You want frequent boosts not rare big stuff. (And this explains the best method of how to split a dinner bill with friends.) For the most part, don’t bother to try and reduce the bad so much as you increase the good.
Stop thinking about big events that might make you thrilled — it’s the little things of everyday life that make lasting improvements to our happiness. You’re not going to win the lottery and it wouldn’t have the impact you think it would.

Avoid life’s most common regrets
We know what people most often regret before they die:
1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
2. I wish I didn’t work so hard.
3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.
There are things you can do every day to improve your life.
