Living a Precious Life
I spoke with a friend this morning. She explained to me that she likes to fantasize about being free of her physical body and soaring effortlessly in the etheric realms. She sounded bored with her life and over whelmed with the responsibilities of her day- to- day existence. She wistfully described her longing to be free of all the emotional pain, boredom and the numerous duties associated with being in human form. I listened with an open heart and mind, and thought to myself, how very sad that my friend is missing the magic of each moment and the surprises that life can bring.
I reflected on our conversation and realized that she must be overwhelmed with the prospect of her life continuing to be the way that it is now and always being stuck in the grind. Although from the outside her life looks pretty successful. She works in the helping profession, has a devoted husband, good health and owns her own home. Nevertheless, she is unhappy with the monotony of paying bills, cleaning house and being a good wife. The boredom of her daily routine seems unbearable. She has lost the spark of remembering the preciousness of each moment. How I wondered, can she regain her enthusiasm for living?
Then three words starting with the letter 'p' popped into my head. I heard my higher self say "Purpose, passion and play are the ways to counteract boredom and being overly responsible and create a solution to living life in a more meaningful way. When a person aligns their work with their core values then there is a special grace that happens as they do their work. For example, if somebody values helping the Earth and they work in a field that prevents pollution then they are living an inspired purposeful life through their work. On the other hand, if a person values caring for the Earth and they work in a field that harms Mother Earth, then they will most likely feel depleted and drained from their work and lack a sense of purpose.
Next, if there is passion connected to how one spends their time in life time in life, then they will feel life becomes more valuable and significant. Passion carries a quality of putting ambition into action with heart. In other words, if you are excited about what you are doing and are willing to go the extra mile to sacrifice whatever it takes to get the job well done then you are living passionately. For example, the writer who stays up until the wee hours of the morning because they are so inspired by the written word coming through them that they sacrifice sleep for passion. The opposite would be the person who dreads going to work and feels tired and weary of their job so much so that they can barely get up in the morning.
Finally, the third remedy to boredom and over work is play. Having a playful approach to one's duties and responsibilities brings a fresh outlook. When a person takes time to balance play and enjoying themselves with the duties of life, then they come alive and reconnect with their joyful nature buried within. A simple solution like going to see a funny movie or enjoying an improve comedy night could be the anecdote to the doldrums of an overly responsible life. When one takes time to nurture their playful child within, they are less resentful of the adult responsibilities of living and more able to cope with the day- to- day stresses of life.
I called my friend back and invited her to consider the possibility that life is offering her an opportunity to make new choices. I reminded her that her passion is important and her purpose of helping humanity is still pure and can be resurrected in her work. I also suggested she take time to play and plan some joyful activities into her life. The magic of life is so much more fun when shared with a friend and life can be full of happy surprises when we remember how precious life is.

Life - Just Like a Game of Ludo
Did I hear you say "Life is dicey"? Living life is like casting dice in a game of Ludo. A die has different faces but you only need one face to start your game; a six (6). Once you start, you can no longer predict the faces you display when you throw; maybe 1,2,3,4 or 5. You just play with whatever you have whether it moves your token to the finish square safely or it drags along, whether it takes you far or slows you down.
In reality, you don't play this game alone, you play with an opponent and each person takes his/her turn to race the tokens to the finish square smoothly. Sometimes, the race of one of your tokens ends suddenly and is returned back to start from scratch, while some get to the finish square. Some complete their task along the way by getting rid of an opponent's token. Every move you make is a risk because you never know what your opponent is plotting.
Every time you release a token with a 'SIX' indicates that every new chapter of your life starts perfectly.e.g.the day you were born, got married or got a new job, but the journey thereof is so unpredictable. Every move your token makes represents the steps you take as you move along the pages of life. Sometimes it's towards your victory but at other times, it's towards your defeat.
Not every chapter you open ends happily. Most tokens are returned to start from scratch meaning sometimes life hits you so hard that you need to go back and start the journey all over again. When your token makes it to the 'home coloured squares', the player feels safe; when we finally achieve what we desire at the end of the road, it's usually a resting place where no one can get us.
Each player finishes one at a time which means we can't all make it at the same time, some are smarter, some are slower and some cheat to win. To avoid being a loser, you need to acquire the necessary skills needed to outshine your opponent. You need to know and apply the rules of the game and think one step ahead of your contemporaries.
You have to win no matter how complicated it is because you cannot afford to be a loser. No matter how many times your strategy fails, no matter how many times you get knocked out and have to retrace your steps, just keep playing because THE MORE YOU PLAY, THE BETTER YOU GET.

Are You Living Life Looking Forward or Backward?
Do you ever ask friends or family what they are looking for or expecting from life? Mostly we reserve these questions for children growing to adulthood or first time encounters with people. Otherwise we assume we know the answer. You may be surprised by what others are expecting from life, even you.
Many people set goals and carefully make plans to reach them while others goals have long since departed from their consciousness. Complacency allows us to just take life as it comes, celebrate some things and bemoan the things we would rather have avoided. It's human nature to do this. Still, even if you never set a goal, you are heading somewhere! Is it an accident, those places you find yourself as you wonder through life? The truth is you mapped the course and followed it; hence your arrival at your own today.
We exist in a wide expansive world, aware but not really imagining that it matters to us beyond the lane we choose to travel in. Like any careful driver on the road who commands the direction, detours and exits on a journey all of us are commanding our future. We are the driving force in our own life; where are you going, do you know? It's easier than you imagine for anyone to determine their destination.
Just like any driver on the road you are destined to arrive at the place you have focused intently on. Are your conversations mostly about how things used to be, about people who were in your life or the pain or joy they created in your memories? Do you believe you are in a no- win situation where misery is a frequent companion, where maybe life has even taken you to a place where you require the anesthesia of some kind of substance to get through it? Does life mostly feel like a hopeless rerun with little or nothing to excite you about tomorrow? If so, you have chosen to take the exit ramp at 'Barely Get Along Street.' It is a hopeless, hapless place where people park their dreams permanently. They get along with barely any emotions save anger and bitterness, never realizing how much energy is required to fuel despair. All of theirs is allocated to keeping that fire of remorse burning. Their life is being lived looking through the rear view mirror, a much smaller view of the opportunities they are passing. They can barely see anything at all except what is behind them. This is living life looking backwards, believing the very best has come and gone; and so you stare at what was with no faith in what can be.
The other option is so much more exhilarating and fulfilling. When you are always looking forward you rarely miss an opportunity. You can be fearless as you imagine what can be, must be around the next curve or turn. You are free to embrace life, to dream and imagine that this dream or something better will absolutely be your reality. Your life is filled with hope, joy and the faith that the very best can and will be. You understand that what appears to be a setback is intended to guide you to the right turn you just passed, a detour to return you to the path that will take you where you were really going. The pain of losing someone in life is encircled by the warm memories of what was shared together. Losses are not less painful, they are just not crippling because you have enough faith to accept what you cannot change. Life is bigger than you. This is a life lived looking excitedly through the wide expansive windshield where you enjoy the passing scenery, are aware of the vast possibilities and pay attention to your own inner voice that guides you to a place where possibilities become probabilities. It is not happenstance that you are heading to a place you were always hoping to go; it is the expected result of based on what you were focusing on. This is living life looking forward.
You don't necessarily need to plan the steps to get to a desired destination, or even narrow down the probabilities. This common practice limits your own higher consciousness, much like choosing a limited menu at the best restaurant. Leaving the details out allows far more possibilities to emerge. Dare to look forward and know that all that you can see is a small sample of what can really be.
