Message From the Universe: The Purpose of Complaining

Clerk, Business, Business Woman, Busy, Corporate

"Once you realize that everything you've ever been through - every scuffed knee, lost deal, and broken heart - will eventually play wildly in your favor, it's kind of hard to complain.

Not that you would anyway.

Tallyho, ho, ho -
The Universe"

Now let's say you do complain, who listens to you anyways, right? We all have our own problems, and the only thing you get out of complaining is having less and less people around you listening to your crap. You want complain? Go, just make sure you complain to a wall, because this is what going to be left once you have brought in so much negativity into your life and to your friends and family. Avoid that at all cost. You have issues? Start by working on finding solution to these issues. Get away from toxic relationships if you are in one or two. Work on making yourself a better person first before you expect others to be better towards you. Change your inner world before tackling the outside one. It will make a huge difference in your life. That is a promise.

So how do you approach negativity or current events in your life that are not so appealing? Well, try looking at these uncontrollable events as them happening whether you like it or not. Instead of trying to battle them, embrace them, learn to accept them. Afterwards, work on extracting the good from the bad. You say there is nothing good coming out of it? I beg to differ. There is ALWAYS a good out of every bad. The answer is: "LESSON". You are constantly learning through this wonderful journey we call life. From an inside perspective, I agree that it might not look very convenient for you, but no matter what happens, you have learned a valuable lesson and as long as you are not repeating these same mistakes again that created this terrible ordeal, you will be able to tap yourself in the back for surviving it and live to tell the tale. This is definitely priceless.

Declutter Your Life, Change Your World

Decluttering and organizing your surroundings can be life-altering - lifting the weight of the possessions, papers, digital clutter and commitments that burden you can open your space and mind to opportunities that were previously obscured. This month I offer a few simple tips to help you start to experience the peacefulness that comes with decluttering some key areas of your life. Keep in mind that organizing for the long term involves more than just clearing the clutter, but experiencing some quick victories will most likely motivate you to dig in deeper and create a lifetime of benefits.

Possessions: Answer these questions about each item or category of items to decide whether or not to hold onto them:

· When did I use this last?

· Am I likely to use it again?

· Why don't I use it more often?

· Do I love it?

· What would happen if I got rid of it?

· Does this enhance my life?

Papers: For each paper (sorry but yes, you do have to look at each one - you wouldn't want to toss the birth certificate that got mixed in with the grocery store ad, right?), ask if it's a WASTE:

Is it Worthwhile?

Will I use it Again?

Can I find it Somewhere else?

Will anything happen if I Toss it?

Do I need the Entire document or magazine?

Digital Information: Declutter your digital life the same way as your physical life - make a decision about each item to determine whether or not you need it. Store similar information (you get to decide what that means to you) together. For email, unsubscribe from newsletters (except this one!), blogs, social media feeds, ads, etc. that aren't essential or don't enhance your life.

Commitments: Decluttering your commitments means saying "no" to demands on your time that aren't essential or beneficial. Evaluate your appointments and other obligations against your goals and note which aren't in alignment with who you are, who you want to be, or where you want to go in life. Create a plan to eliminate or minimize those commitments - make a call, send an email, find your replacement, resign at the end of your current term, find a way to do it more efficiently, etc. Don't just go with the flow - take charge and eliminate what's getting in the way of you living your best life.

Although creating and implementing a plan to get and stay organized is more involved than simply decluttering, I hope the ideas noted here will help you see that there is a path to a simpler, less burdensome life. I wish you success on your journey.

Change Your Mind, Change Your World

Have you ever felt like you are not given the kind of respect you deserve? In a way like you are taken for granted or not taken seriously? In one way or another, all of us have felt this way. We've yearned to be looked at as an authority, someone people look up to and trust. We're not taught in school how to do this or our parents didn't tell us the secret on how to gain authority. It's something we learn and gain by ourselves. And the answer is as simple as changing your mindset. What? No way! Oh but is. People tend to underestimate the power of the mind. Change your game by changing your mind.

Take the time to look back and think about all the people in your life who were an authority, a leader, guy at work who has more credibility than you or the man who you look up to and inspires you. They are up there not for the reasons you think. If you really think about it, they aren't the smartest of the bunch, not the most educated, neither are they the best. And in no way do they even call themselves an expert or guru. No. Instead, they are up there because they are great teachers and advocates for the success of their customers or employees.

Let's take for example Richard Simmons. Who doesn't know this guy? This famous fitness personality has been a household name ever since he started gaining popularity during the first few years in his career. Stop and think though, do you really think he is the best person to really get people into shape? Is he the Einstein of fitness and nutrition? Or does he even call himself a master of his craft? Of course not.

People look up at him and give him authority because he is a great educator. Instead of sharing information that's far too complicated to understand, he figures out what your problems are and finds out a way to fix them. He even has social media that he updates on a regular basis with topics that are helpful and easy to understand for his fans and followers.

He doesn't try too hard to impress his followers because by now they're already pretty impressed with the commitment and desire to solve people's problems.

Depending on what field you're in, you can share with people things you know that you think they will want to know as well. If you're a nurse for example, you can make a blog post for common health problems and quick remedies people can do at home. Remember, the simpler you can make it, the better. People will trust you better if you give them easy solutions. Like Richard, you'll soon be the expert you'll want to listen to.

You can be an advocate also by showing people that you have their best interests at heart. Using the nurse example again, they can start up conferences to take up people's concerns and try to solve it they best way that you can.

So let's make a recap. How will you be viewed as an authority again? Make that mind shift. Find out what concerns and troubles your target. Give solutions. Show that you care. And help them climb up that ladder of success. Ladies and gentlemen, that's how it's done.

Words Are All I Have

We live in a world of words. We have a word for everything, some of these words and labels mean a great deal to us. Words such as "Love" "Happiness" "Success" "Prosperity" "Joy" describe conditions most of us want. But there is one word which controls them all. Meaning, there is one word which describes a condition which will bring us all of these things, or keep us from getting any one of them.

If a youngster asked you what this word is, could you tell him, or her? If, from all the words in our language you were asked to select the one word which would influence your life more than any other, could you choose the right one?

I call it the "Magic" word, and it is "ATTITUDE" This is the word that controls our life, our entire world. If you are curious about what kind of attitude you have, a simple test will give you the answer. How is the world treating you? If your attitude to the world is good, you will obtain good results. If your attitude is excellent, excellent will be your results. If your attitude is negative, then little that is positive will be your experience.

Our environment, which is another way of saying how the world treats us, is nothing more than a reflection, a mirror actually, of our own attitudes. What you put out will come back to you. It would be impossible to estimate the number of jobs lost, promotions lost, sales lost, marriages ruined, all because of an attitude that expects others to change toward us, rather than for us to set the tone, positively in our interpersonal dealings with the people in our world

A traveller from LA wanting to move to a smaller and quieter town in Iowa, stopped at a viewing site to admire the beauty of a certain small town. He noticed an old man sitting nearby on a stool. Approaching him he asked, "What are the people like in this town?" You see, I am thinking of moving here and would like to know"

"What are they like where you come from?" asked the old man. "The people in LA California, are positive, and friendly" answered the traveller. "Well, said the old man, you will find the people over here to be much the same!"

A few weeks later another traveller also wanting to move to a quieter place, stopped to admire the view and saw the same old man sitting on his stool. He also asked the same question "I'm thinking of moving from a large city to live in this place but would like to know what the people are like?" "Well what are they like where you come from?" asked the old man. "They are a bunch of selfish, money mad idiots" said the traveller.

Once again the wise old man said, "You will find about the same type of people over here!" and so, the moral of the tale is self-evident, your world responds to you as you expect it to. It's your attitude that makes the difference.

By way of application, in 30 days you can change your world and your environment by making this simple test. For the next 30 days decide to treat every person you meet, without a single exception, as the most important person on earth. You will find that they will begin treating you in the same way, you see, every person as far as he or she, is concerned, is the most important person on earth. We have been told that people don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care. I have found that you can and will improve your world when you improve your attitude.

Everything I have or lack in my life is due to what I have done or failed to do in my past. Everything I will have or lack in my future will depend on what I do or fail to do between now and then. M L

To your success
