There Is an Upside to Failure

Why Failure is Not the End

Sometimes when we fail we feel it is the end of the world. There is not one person on the planet Earth that has never failed in his life. The truth is that everyone fails once or many times in their life. You are not alone in this process of failing. It is normal to fail with your business, or your lover, or your friends. But, when you will fail, keep in mind that you are not alone in this and that you should keep moving forward.

There is a reason behind every failure

Failing is all about learning. It is all part of the process - the learning to move forward. Think of Albert Einstein to tried 1001 times to create the light-bulb. His vision and sense of purpose failed him forward.

It isn't always fun when things don't work out the way we planned. It is totally normal to feel de-motivated, without any enthusiasm and willingness to keep going in one thing that you have really want to feel some sense of purpose.

You know how they say: "If you fail 9 times, the 10th time will be a successful one"! The process of failing is difficult.

However, when you fail, feelings of disappointment, why try, de-motivation are seemed real. But, before you decide not to again try, keep in mind that failing is not the end.

When you think that you are on something, fail forward, work with enthusiasm, vision, and purpose, the end results will be what you expected.

Failure is Purposeful

It is often difficult to keep up the motivation. Your sense of purpose can seem illusory as if dreaming. It exists to remind you of what you really want from your life, career, relationship and friendship. When you envisage your dreams as purposeful, a spark of motivation and enthusiasm increases. Your heart is starting to beat faster and faster. You are feeling alive again!

All this is because your vision is an open door to your inner wisdom. Even if you fail once another path will be shown waiting for you just around the corner.

Nothing is lost, you just need to give yourself a chance to keep in your mind's eye all the situations you want to see, when everything seems so negative and without any sense of purpose.

You will feel tired of pushing yourself and stay motivated. Do not worry, nothing is lost.

Whenever you are unsure of what direction to take time to sit quietly. Ask your most pressing question and sit in your heart. Breathe deeply into your heart space, a place of knowing. Through practice you will change your neural pathways into a more coherent state. As well, the answer will come without all the negative self talk we often tell ourselves.

Failures Build Characters

woman sitting on grey cliff

Failure is the flipside of success. Call it the opposite of success and you are not wrong.

Our mindset determines how we look at this 7-letter word. I am sure you agree with me, here. But, if not, please read on.

To some of us, the word is a stepping stone. To others, it is a stumbling block. Different stroke for different folks.

But, whichever way you view this failure scale, there are consequences. It may be positive or negative, progressive or regressive, constructive, destructive.

When we set targets, objectives, timelines, or whatever. It is either we meet out targets, or we do not.

If we meet our target, we regard ourselves as being successful and if not, we indulge in self pity. Some will even blame outside factors for their failures.

Others, who read our body language and attitude, also see us as having failed. But have we? Well, from the negative point of view, we have failed.

However, those who are positive, optimistic, constructive, and always looking at life from a brighter angle, know the real meaning of failure.

To them, it is temporary, a stepping stone, time of rest, sober reflection and character building.

When you lost out in a relationship, marriage, project, career, education, finances, whatever, it is most likely you feel discomfort and downcast. It is natural and I have felt this way times without number. We all have.

But, let us look beyond the temporary discomfort and see our situations as yet another opportunity to strengthen our characters.

Yes, that is exactly what it is - an opportunity to be focused, resilient, humble, determined, sincere, optimistic, transparent and truthful, in our dealings with ourselves and others.

I have observed that powerful, wealthy, famous, and successful achievers in developed and developing countries, go through many failures in life. In reality, no one is immune to failure.

Till this minute, these people are still going through failures and have refused to give up. This is the spirit I too is trying to cultivate.

In truth, everyone - the wealthy and the poor go through failures. How we look at the word depend on our mindset.

But, building of noble characters by great and ordinary people across the world is fired by failures. Reflect on this.

Failure is good, desirable, the other side of success, and helps build characters for everyone in every country, in service to God and humanity.

Learning From Regrets

woman standing on the desert while her hands up

Most people have regrets about something in their lives which become an emotional baggage even when they are already dying. They feel sad, repentant, or disappointed over something that they have done, or something they haven't done or a loss or missed opportunity. They feel remorseful and sorrowful over an event, behavior or choice they have made in their lives.

Failure to act tend to be more memorable and enduring than regrettable actions.
If the mistakes made harm other people, there's a good reason to be regretful. With the realization that other choices could have been made with less negative results. But the failure to take action in a situation that may have resulted in harm could also be a situation where regret is understandable.

A lot of people who are living in the expectation according to society, friends or family lead a miserable life. They are regretful because they do not have the courage to live life to the fullest and are not brave enough to exist based on what they want to be not on what others want them to be.

According to a study I read, it was found out that women had most frequent regrets about romance, whereas men had work regrets. This implies that we don't really take the time to truly examine what really contributes to a long-term happiness and meaning in life. There are many factors that can significantly impact our happiness. But what's important is we live our lives according to our choice not with others.

We all have regrets. These can include things said or done; things left unsaid or undone. Paths that weren't followed; opportunities missed due to fear or insecurity. However, one of the biggest regrets in life by a lot of people is not being there for someone at the end of life.

Sometimes we work too much that we miss our child's milestones, youth and their partner's companionship. Most often, we are also afraid to show or express our feelings. We take life too seriously and we allow worries to diminish our happiness which should not be.

Life is too beautiful to complicate it with making a fuss over nothing. In the end, we regret every single minute of our unwise decisions.

Me, I live my life to the fullest despite the setbacks that I have in the past. There might be regrets but the bottom line is learning from them and now I am free to do what I want and not only live life but also exist happily with my kids.

Living your life according to your own terms is a key to dying without regrets. While we still have time, we should not give up too many of our dreams for the sake of pleasing others.

Failure Is the Condiment

Man Wearing Gray Blazer

Quote By: Truman Capote

Many of us have been taught that not achieving immediate pleasure is a need. Failure is life's way of moving us in a different way and actually letting we greet eventually achieving that success we have been endeavouring towards.

Failures have given us a true understanding of self and drove us to attain that success that we envy. Failure is not an end, it is only a beginning. That failure makes us rethink to constructs a new plan, pushing us in a direction we may have not originally planned.

FAILURE IS A BEND IN THE ROAD, NOT THE END OF THE ROAD. LEARN FROM FAILURE AND KEEP MOVING FORWARD - Roy T. Bennett

Victorious personalities relish their past failures because they consider them experiences that added value to their life. And there is nothing better than the feeling of success after years of endurance, struggles, and tribute.

Our failures do not define us, they encourage us. We can accept falling short of a goal but we could never live with ourselves if we gave up trying. Just one line in the sand on the success side of our life is worth all of those hash marks in the failure column. A few dashes of inadequacy and a sprinkling of botched attempts make that main course of success that much tastier! Failure is not the end, with the right mindset; it will catapult your success.

Failure is not the end of the road. In fact it is the beginning of a beautiful journey. Success is neither a cup of tea nor a piece of cake. It is something more than an achievement. Unfortunately many of us give up and do not like to follow the experience of failing. It's impossible to taste success in life without experiencing some kind of failure.

Nobody in this world chooses to fail, but everyone tastes the bitter cup at some point in their lives. It serves as a mirror at each end of our life. It reveals our strengths, weakness, and helps in demonstrating ourselves by strengthening our efforts.

Failure doesn't mean we quit; it means we just need to try harder. It is just an experience or lesson which drives a person to his success until he will not give up.

Failure doesn't mean that everything is over; it means that you have a chance to try something new. It doesn't mean that everything is finished; it implies that you have an opportunity to have a go at something new.

Society doesn't reward defeat, and we won't find many failures documented or written in history books.

Sometimes we don't fail. We try our effort in wrong fields. Our talents are measured in a way that are not meant to be. So it's necessary to know why you failed. Knowing you are judged in a wrong manner you have to change your forte. It's not failure, just a new beginning and this time in the correct turf

Life Is Not Easy - At Best, It Is Satisfying

Topless Man Standing on Cliff

All failure is a temporary stepping stone to success at best. The most genuine successes have the bigger seeming failures that are the most temporary stepping stones to genuine permanent successes. Take a good inventor for example: A good or great inventor is mostly a failure, but one success or two, and they are in "The Legends Club", so to speak. What do I mean? Okay, Thomas Edison was said to have failed many times at inventing the light bulb before he found what worked, right. That is the simple version of what people with great ideas go through before they make it to success. Usually, failures are even bigger and time investments are more pronounced when working toward genuine success.

At worst, when quitting happens, someone else takes up the mantle from that quitting and makes a success of themselves. So, I can honestly say that the person who quits or lets the loss be "the end of them" does not want to achieve the goal they are after genuinely enough. Because, ultimately, what can be conceived rationally and worked on persistently, can be genuinely achieved. The greater the goal, the more this sort of time investment is needed and wanted to achieve it. It may not be easy, but when success happens, it is satisfying as Michelangelo having been rumored to say about the Sistine Chapel painting and art: "If they knew the hard work that went into easy looking genius, they would not consider it so easy or worthy of awe." I get it. "The Legends Club" of those who have succeeded and "arrived" genuinely is filled with this type of thing where success comes after diligent, realistic and hard yet smart work.

The only meaningful loss there is really is the loss that teaches a lesson and helps you succeed later. All other quitting, losses and lapses are worth nothing but "drama queen" type feeling sorry for yourself and weakness.

When you join the "legends" and "geniuses", you will find the first sentence in that last paragraph completely real, honest and true. The only meaningful loss there really is teaches a lesson that helps you succeed later. Indeed, at the end of this article, I can honestly say that the only meaningful win in life is earned. Everything else is "the luck of the draw" purely. So, if I captured reality in a bottle let me know.

Why Failing Isn't A Big Deal

Close-up Photography of Pink Lotus

We all want to succeed at what we choose to do. But when we experience failure after failure, it's hard to believe that success may be just around the corner.

There have been lots of articles about famous people who failed on their way to success. Some of them failed thousands of times, and yet they still persevered.

Their secret? They believed in themselves and in their dreams. And, as David Bayer has said, "Beliefs are decisions." Once a positive dream-affirming decision is made, possibilities and opportunities begin to appear that, when grasped, will ultimately build a path to success.

The individuals listed below kept getting up after they fell down. Eventually they achieved enormous success.

Let's see if you can match the individuals with their failure or the negative feedback they received. Place the correct letter in the column to the left of the number. (The answer key is provided below the table.)

Importance Of Failure

Failure is a word that no one wants to hear. It is the biggest fear of a human being yet it is faced by every human being on earth at least once in their life. We need to learn how to deal with this word 'failure'.

A lot of people in this world give up on their lives just because they couldn't achieve something they desire. People ignore the fact that failure helps the man to distinguish what he did wrong.

Here are some tips which can help you get into the positive side of life and change the failure into victory.

1. SAY NO TO GIVING UP

Before starting anything that you think will give you success, promise yourself that you will never give up if you failed at this particular task. This promise to self makes your mind ready for both failure and triumphs. But what if you didn't do that in the start? Then always remember that it is never too late. If you think that now you can do nothing or you are over, you are just making an excuse.

2. LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES

This is the opportunity that you should not let go of. Suppose you are in a football ground. You are playing alone and there is a goalkeeper. You make an aim and strike the football but the goalkeeper stops it. This goalkeeper is life. It is challenging you at every point and it will continue to do so till you take your last breathe. You strike the ball for 9 times in a row and fail. But in the tenth attempt, you strike it in such a manner that you retrieved those 9 'in a row failures'. That's how it works. You cannot quit till you leave the ground. And if you leave the ground, you gave up. Those 9 attempts proved that you somehow learnt from your mistakes.

3. NEVER THINK THAT YOU'VE GOT ONLY PLAN A

The worst thing you can do after failing at some project is thinking that it was the only plan you could ever think of. Don't ever underestimate yourself. There is always another plan. If plan A fails Plan B and if plan B fails Plan C. If you are into achieving something, no one or nothing in this world can stop you rather all the world will conspire to make you achieve it.

4. POSITIVE MINDSET

This is the most important thing that you need to live a contented life. Always think positive. Spread positivity. Never let yourself down. If you bring negativity around you, it will not let you achieve your dreams. Positivity is all we need to grow and establish ourselves in this world.

People need to let go of the bad things or failures faced and should start prioritizing over positivity. By doing this particular act, they can achieve their life goals and master the game of life.

Message From the Universe: You May Be Closer Than You Think

"Dreams are like that, most of the time you don't even know how close you are, until after they've come true.

Sometimes, even, the very day before they come true, it still feels like they're a million miles away.

Something to remember.

Tallyho,
The Universe"

Close to your dreams. No one will ever know, prior to starting a venture, if he or she will ever succeed in it. As well, it is impossible to determine how close you are from success when everything around you seems to not go the way you expected or anticipated. You may experience more failure than you would ever want in a lifetime, deal with major obstacles in life that seems to never end, work day and night without seeing a dime or even light at the end of this dark tunnel we call life. Guess what? That happens to everyone who is venturing out on their own. You may be so close to wealth and by pushing a little bit harder and further to what you are doing today, you will get to your destination. Keep digging a bit longer, keep knocking on more doors, keep on asking for things so at the end, even if you do not get to that chamber of gold or diamond, you know you've tried it all. You can live life with no regrets.

We all doubt ourselves as to how are we going to get to where we need to be, and forget that the Universe has a say in all of that. You should focus your energy in your thoughts and the Universe will focus on the HOW it should happen. You shouldn't waste your time on HOW it will all work, as you should work more towards thinking positive thoughts. No one can ever tell you how things will turn out, or if your business is on the right track, or if this job will offer you great opportunity in the future. Life is all about trying different things, about working towards your goals and figuring out what works best for you. The rest will come in due time as the Universe stands behind you and makes sure you get to wherever you need to go.

The Will To Succeed Is Important, But What's More Important Is The Will To Prepare

Your intense desire to succeed cause you to change the status quo. It helps you start and motivates you to endure in the face of obstacles. it's what permits one to beat overwhelming odds. Once you create that burning obsession, you'll do whatever it takes to realize that goal. You'll invest all of your time, energy and self into attaining what you want.

The number one reason why people are stuck and unable to progress is due to fear for failure and not wishing one thing badly enough. Once you wish to succeed as unhealthy as you wish to breathe, then you'll achieve success. Knowing the explanation behind your desire is that the key to understanding however way you'll go.

You heard people achieving bigger success after going through a lot of odds. These people walked aloof from their trials and tribulations understanding what they truly desired because they knew their purpose.

When the going gets rough, the sole factor that keeps you going is your will to succeed. Sometimes people end up quitting the instant they encounter resistance. Conversely, you'll be ready to overcome any obstacle if your desire is strong enough to beat all odds.

When it involves being eminent, success mostly comes right down to fixing time and energy in order that once a chance arises, you are able to give your best. Having the will to organize is as vital as the will to win.If you wish to seek out success, target developing the need for preparation. simply do not let preparation overtake you.

In fact, there's no such issue as failure, there is solely feedback and the feedback we get ultimately verify however prosperous we'll be. When we fail we've got 3 options: opt to quit, that is that the solely real failure; opt to ignore the feedback and check out once more; or we will learn from our failure, adapt our approach, and check out once more.

Every major success is built on a solid bedrock of previous failures. You utilize failure as a stepping stone. Shut the door on the past. It doesn't mean that you attempt to forget the mistakes, however, it means that you do not linger over it. You do not let it drain your energy, or weaken your resolve.

Only those who dare to fail greatly will reap success. If you are not ready to fail, you will ne'er come back up with something. Our greatest glory is, not in ne'er falling, but in rising anytime we tend to fall. A man should be sufficiently big to admit his mistakes, sensible enough to cash in on them, and powerful enough to correct them.

When you take risks, you learn that there'll be times after you succeed, and there'll be times after you fail, and each learning experience is equally vital. It's failure that offers you the correct perspective on success. It's fine to celebrate success however it's necessary to learn from failure. In fact, the most important risk isn't taking any risk. at all. As a matter of fact, the only factor that's bound to fail isn't taking risks.

The more you fail and recover and improve, the higher you become as an individual. The best mistake you'll be able to create in life is the fear you'll create one. Success is staggering from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm. A part of being a person is learning to require responsibility for your successes and for your failures. Do not blame others or be jealous of others accomplishment. Seeing someone else's success as your failure could be a cancerous way to live.

Failure ought to be our teacher, not our funeral director. However our will to succeed should be as important as our will to prepare for committing mistakes along the road to success. Failure are a few things we will avoid solely by nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing. We just have to accept that we cannot always make the right decisions in life.

Acceptance is the key. We need to accept our limitations. We don't always make the right choices but we need to understand that failure is not the opposite of success, rather, it's part of success.

Separating Failure From Success

Photo of Person Holding Crystal Ball

What makes someone successful?

Many things help, there's no question. Seeing what other people don't. Being lucky. Having the courage to try things even when they're risky. Money. Connections. Specialised training and all the right certifications.

If you have all of these, you'll probably succeed. Then again, you might not. And if you have none of them? Well, you might just succeed anyway.

How do people do it? How does one person rise above the crowd? Is it really a matter of chance or some mysterious, undefinable X-factor?

Einstein didn't think so. He had a very clear idea on what allowed him to crack some of the greatest physics puzzles in history. And it certainly wasn't his intelligence.

It's resilience - the ability to stick with a problem. If you keep trying after everyone else gives up, you'll find the solution eventually. And when you do, people will call you a genius.

"It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer." - Albert Einstein

I'm not saying anything new here. You already know the value of endurance. The athlete who can keep pushing a second longer will win the gold. A businessperson who can tolerate uncertainty a day longer will achieve miracles.

It's only failure when you quit. Everything else is a lesson.

How do you improve your resilience? You keep your body healthy, for a start. Light exercise and eating the right foods will fuel you and stave off illness. But your body is only half the picture. Resilience is as much a mental game.

Meditation is a great way to strengthen your mind. Metta meditation, also known as loving-kindness meditation, is so effective that just ten minutes a day can slash your stress levels. This is why everyone from soldiers to students to healthcare professionals turn to meditation. Many people from these high stress groups swear by it to keep themselves functioning.

For people who struggle with meditation, self-hypnosis is another option. It achieves a similar mental state to meditation, only some people find it easier and more effective. I recommend it - it's done wonders for my health. A paper published in Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice showed that it reduces stress hormones in the body in just a few weeks.

How do athletes stay focused, even under pressure? Sports psychologists like to encourage visualisations to improve performance, stop stress and even heal from injury.

Even just simple things, like staying optimistic and socialising improve everything from your mood to your immune system and healing rate. And they decrease your risk of getting sick or injured in the first place.

Want to learn how to use these techniques? The March edition of Awakened Thought focuses on resilience. This is just a taste of the techniques you can start today that will improve your resilience. You'll be happier and healthier if you do.

As a side effect, you'll succeed the way Einstein did - by sticking with his problems longer.

How Do You Cope in a Crisis?

There are times when we may feel world-weary, overwhelmed and jaded. Something has gone wrong, or perhaps yet another crisis has occurred in our lives. It may be as a result of one specific incident, life has thrown us a curved ball. Or there may have been a sequence of disasters and now the final straw, something seemingly minor has landed and our resilience has folded.

How is it that some people seem able to take crises and testing times in their stride, whilst others really struggle to cope?

- There are people whose mindset always seems to anticipate setbacks and disaster. They can seem overly enthusiastic about catastrophizing situations, looking at the potential for rejection and misfortune with their 'what if' or shocked 'that could have happened' attitude. They speculate about things that haven't happened, the 'what if he'd fallen and broken his arm', or 'what if she'd let your secret out of the bag?' This mindset predisposes them to negativity, panic and a desire to be over-cautious, even though caution's not always the most helpful or effective approach.

- Having a more relaxed approach to life can mean that if something bad does happen or a situation doesn't work out as planned it doesn't have to spell crisis and failure. In fact, people who have a more positive, receptive approach to life and the difficulties they encounter are often more upbeat and not as easily deterred. They usually have a positive outlook and see beyond any immediate problems to find alternative ways of resolving things.

Setbacks, viewed from a different perspective, can reveal interesting options and may in part result in important lessons, insights and new opportunities. But we have to be receptive to the signs. When something doesn't work out as we'd hoped it may be that another unexpected door can be opened. I've certainly found that some of my 'great' ideas that crashed ultimately resulted in outcomes that I'd never have anticipated at the outset. But there had to be a preparedness to discuss and negotiate in order to reach that resolution.

- Remove 'I should, I ought, I must' from your mindset. The pressure of other people's hopes, expectations and disappointment can turn a setback into a crisis and seriously affect your ability to think clearly and move forward. Think through what's right for you, be clear about your own talents, abilities and interests and remember that successful people often work long hours and deal with setbacks because they are motivated and enthusiastic about their goal. Working to someone's agenda rarely carries the same passion.

- Crises can provide the people in your life with the previously unconsidered opportunity to step up and demonstrate their potential. Family, friends and perhaps even business colleagues may offer a valuable supply of strength, understanding and support when crises happen or things go wrong. Be big enough to share the load with them, they're your 'team'. Do them the courtesy of letting them in on your struggles and be prepared to accept their help when they are there for you. They often appreciate being included, and may be able to suggest some great ideas!

- Breaking down a crisis into 'bite-sized' chunks can be a useful approach. Then you can discover that it's unlikely that every aspect will be equally troublesome. By taking a step back from an 'insurmountable' problem it's often possible to scrutinize the various parts that combine to make it so serious and list each specific, individual element.

I find that there are often five 'chunks' to a serious problem. Chunk one, what you can deal with now; two, the part you need to do some work on before having to pass it on to someone else for their input; three, what's already in hand and being dealt with, four; what is finished with and can immediately be passed over to others; five, what you can do nothing about. Let go of what you can do nothing about and determine the best order to start dealing with the other matters that you can influence.

When you apply this calmer approach you may discover that you're less overwhelmed than you initially thought. This enables you to then start resolving parts of your crisis, reduce its intensity and so regain some semblance of control.

- In any crisis situation it's important to look after yourself too. Be committed to regular sleep times, eat as well as you can, stay clear of drowning your sorrows in booze, sugar binges or worse. Turn off your technology each evening and allow yourself some quiet time, as well as time for fun, friends and exercise.

Be genuinely interested in other people and what is going on in the outside world, away from yourself and your situation. These healthy distractions can stop you from becoming too self-absorbed and introspective and so become better able to cope in a crisis.

Dealing With Self-Doubt

Have you ever dreamed of doing something bigger than just your standard daily grind? Have you ever wanted to start a business or write a book? Do you ever hear a little voice inside your head? You know the voice. It's your negative alter ego telling you your dreams are just that dreams. The voice tells you you're not smart enough, rich enough, or creative enough. That little voice has plagued me for many years, and it was only recently I got the nerve to tell it to SHUT UP! I will never understand why we all have that little voice, but we all know it is self-doubt. Even the most confident person deals with self-doubt, and it doesn't go away. You can be living your dream, and still have moments you question your capabilities. Even though it may be a lifelong battle, here are some questions to ask yourself when that negative feeling creeps into your mind.

If you never reached your goals, would you be satisfied?

I began to ask myself that question when fear and doubt became crippling. I felt confined to the point I was suffocating. Terror came over me when I thought of never pursuing my dream. That feeling outweighed any doubt or fear that I had that I might fail. The fear of not at least trying lit a fire in me, and I haven't looked back since.

Where did your self-doubt originate?

We are born with a level of confidence, but as we get older, our experiences shape the way we think. Did you have parents or family members that were negative? Were they quitters? Did they predict a negative outcome before even attempting the task? If you've grown up around people with these attitudes, it is hard to break the pattern. Read positive thinking self-help books. Attend events and networking events with people that share the same interests. Surround yourself with people that want to see you win.

Can you accept failure?

We all know failure is a very unpleasant situation. I've read many books and heard lots of speeches embracing failure. Who are they kidding? When you fail, it feels like the whole world is watching and laughing at you. When you have minor successes, no one pays attention. Failure is not an excuse to give up on what you want to do. Keep in mind this relates to attainable goals. If you're trying to be a pilot, but have never taken a flying lesson, that's not attainable. The journey to build something out of nothing is not paved in gold. You will have stumbling blocks along the way. When you stumble, take a step back, regroup, and continue to push through.

I've failed plenty of times, and the more I failed, the louder the voice of self-doubt got. But even though the negative voice was loud, my dream always screamed louder.

Positive Affirmations to Use When You Are Feeling Lazy

Has anyone told you you are lazy? Perhaps you've told yourself that many times. You can use positive affirmations to move yourself past your reluctance or inability to take action. But first, let's look at what might be behind the supposedly laziness.

How Fear Impedes Action

Most people others call lazy actually have deep-seated fears. Some of the most common ones are fear of:

  • responsibility
  • failure
  • success (which often is related to responsibility)
  • being different
  • being separated from friends and family

Any fear you have is based upon the belief that what you are contemplating doing is unsafe. You acquired these beliefs when you were very young. Almost all of them originated before you were the age of five.

How Not Knowing Impedes Action

Many people appear to have a lack of ambition simply because they don't know what they would like to do with their life. They haven't found their passion yet. They haven't discovered what it is that will motivate them to do something more than they are doing now.

If someone appears to be a dedicated couch potato, you can be sure that if there is a fire they will get moving. Having passion calls for having an activity which ignites the fire within to find a goal and follow through with it.

Usually fear of making the wrong choice interferes with discovering something the person is passionate about. Those who have always been excited about something in life or who have always known what they wanted to do when they were adults have a difficult time understanding anyone who can't find themselves.

How Affirmations Help

People who appear lazy often repeat the same statements, "I don't want to," "I can't," "I'm not interested," or other self-limiting beliefs. Each time a limiting belief is repeated, it reinforces the limitation. When you use positive affirmations, positive statements, you are counteracting the limiting belief. You are also beginning to construct a new pathway in your brain which will open you to different possibilities.

Suggestions to Move You Forward

If you want to change, you have to take action. This begins by changing the messages you give yourself.

Change the "I can't" to "I can." Follow that up with doing something different that you know you can do. It can be as simple as walking around the block.

You might want to replace "I don't want to" with "I want to find out what I enjoy." Follow that with the action of listing three things you enjoy doing. Then repeat to yourself, "I am discovering what I truly want to do with my life."

If the difficulty is that you are afraid, take a deep breath, hold it for a count of four, and then exhale as much as you can. Follow that with the positive affirmation, "I have the necessary courage to overcome my fears."

Jumped Starting the Subconscious

Every time you use a positive statement rather than a limiting one, you are opening your subconscious mind to a different possibility in life. When you use limiting words, your subconscious mind wants to support those words. When you use words opening you to possibility, your subconscious mind wants to support you in that area.

Indecision Is Death (By Ellie Rome-Reed)

I have had a lot happen on my path and sometimes I have had to make difficult decisions. Regardless of what you're going through, you have to make a decision. Because doing the indecision limbo is going to kill you.

I read Napoleon Hill's "Outwitting the Devil" and really resonated with the story. I have a lot to say about the book, but I will stick to the singular point: Indecision is death.

Napoleon Hill was struggling. He didn't know what to do or what his next step would be. On a walk one night, he received information about what he should do next, from his other self (or his higher-self). He made a decision to follow the guidance of his higher-self and it led to amazing things happening in his life!

Back to my decision: I was on the fence about leaving my 9-5 job. I was dealing with non-stop migraines since November 2016 and I had been on short term disability. During that time, our nanny quit and my autistic son started acting worse than ever before. I knew the doctor would not sign any more paperwork unless I agreed to Botox, which intuitively I knew was not a healthy option for me.

So I spoke to coaches and mentors, all of whom encouraged me to make a decision either way and stick with it. I even had a conversation with an amazing person who said, "Logic and responsibility can trick us sometimes." He told me not to go backwards. So I made the decision to quit.

For the next couple weeks, I started to wonder if I was making the right decision (you know, ego tries to keep you safe with the known instead of the grander possibility of the unknown). So I did what anyone who had made a decision and didn't want to waffle back and forth about it would do: I hit send on my resignation letter.

I felt an immediate relief. The stomach ache that had plagued me for weeks was gone. I was able to sleep through the night again. I even stopped grinding my teeth.

It didn't matter if I had enough money in the bank, if everything was lined up, I had to make a decision and commit to it. Because when you commit, the Universe shows up to support you. Or rather, "Leap and the net will appear."

Don't get stuck in the cycle of, "Let me think about it a little longer." You will never stop thinking! Make a decision, get out of that discomfort! Then you can step back and ask, "Does this decision serve me?" When asking that question, you haven't let the opportunity pass you by. You can always change your mind later, if things no longer serve you.

Here's another piece of advice I learned: Define failure for yourself.

What is failure to you? Now don't give up on that thing you said yes to until you actually "fail" at it. And I guarantee, you won't fail. But until you've reached the point of failure, you don't know if you don't try AND you will regret 100% of the shots you don't take!

Make a decision. Try something new. Give yourself a chance at success.

Everyone has a story, but sometimes we allow fear to prevent us from sharing it with the people it could most inspire. Everything you want is right outside of your comfort zone. Allow yourself to dream big and know that it is possible to achieve every one of your dreams. They're all on the other side of fear.

Message From the Universe: May the Force Be With You

"No matter what "they" say and no matter what they do, and no matter what they don't say or don't do, they actually love you.

I know because they told me.

I love you,
The Universe"

When you speak to people about your goals and dreams, even with family and friends, you may encounter some resistance. Some might try to discourage you and consider it as constructive criticism about your intentions. WE all should welcome constructive criticism but you need to take it from people who experienced it themselves. Someone who have never taken any risk in life, have worked their 9-5pm job for the past 25 years aren't in a position to tell you what will work and what won't. So what do you do? Listen or ignore advice from family and friends? Well, it is really up to you. As you know, your family will always LOVE you no matter what you do, as long as you keep things legal and safe for everyone. However, you can't let others dictate your dreams by telling you if your venture will work or fail. Let's say you experience failure, the best thing that would come out of it is a lesson right? So it is CRUCIAL for you to fail in life, and fail not once, but many many times. There is NO better school than life experiences. Take advantage of those lessons and as long as you learn from them, you are gold.

You want to live your life to the fullest so start doing that TODAY. Do not wait for the best timing, or when you finish your studies, or when you have a better job, or a bigger home or this or that. You want to make changes today and whatever obstacles you will face along the way, just deal with it and move on. There is no better time to do things than NOW, right at this moment. Every human beings in this planet are seeking the ONE thing in common, being happy. Some will use money for them to reach that happiness, others will be health, or any other venue to reach that ultimate level of joy. The key here is to apply what you've learned and most importantly avoid making the same mistakes over again. You want to move forward, not backward. Just like the Big Bang, it all started with the concept of singularity, where all matter was so dense within that infinitesimally small point that everything exploded with such a force to create what we see today, OUR UNIVERSE. We also started as a tiny egg in our mom womb to become who we are today. We constantly change for the better, at least I hope, but it really never ends. Just like everything else in life, we all need to grow and become the best we can be. That is why learning is a lifelong journey, because knowledge never really ends, unless you allow it to happen.

Everyone Loves A Winner

Winning is a habit, and so is the other thing of losing. Genuinely simple as an affirmation made enough times, we can all raise ourselves and our vibrations up if we give ourselves a chance to do that. For genuine winning is simply the habit of never quitting until you genuinely do succeed.

This will be a classic motivational article in many ways, with an emphasis on habit and affirmation. Also, this will spotlight the realities of the habits of winning and losing also.

Winning is as simple as a habit, it is not a fixed situation in any way. It does not depend on where you start, where you are, and how much behind you are or even how much advantage you have. It is a habit or to put it another way that is almost the same, it is an affirmation.

The biggest losses come to those who quit. For those who master, the biggest gains come and come always. There is not any real loss for them, even starting over is looked at as an advantage.

The best winners are the winners who depend on mastery instead of luck. Sure, luck can be at best preparation meeting opportunity. But genuine mastery despite temporary failure is even better than that always.

To get beyond breaking even or almost, you must master yourself fully. That is the key to greatness. Without that key, all doors are locked. Skill is developed, it is not come by luckily. Hence, the seeming fault with the definition of luck that it is preparation meeting opportunity. Preparation is a form of mastery, and opportunity can only be noticed by those who are prepared for it.

Winning is everything when it is genuine, but is nothing when it is a genuinely lucky break of chance as described by anyone who is unfortunate enough to be lucky in the accepted sense. Mastery is the best way to go indeed.

Winning is repeatable when mastery is involved. Loss is mandatory when luck is depended on. Think about those two sentences, and you will see that they are really true, honest and real. Tragedy is quitting before mastery is reached. Happiness is being a master. Sure, that sounds simple until you realize the emotional frustration of loss and think: "What then? what now? I did my best!" Well in that case, it will take a little or a lot more to win through mastery because when you master instead of quit, that is when your best is good enough.

How to Stop Surviving and Start Thriving

The Obstacle Is the Way

You are born to thrive, not just to play it safe in your comfort zone.

You might try avoiding failure because it weakens your self-esteem - although failure is a prerequisite for success.

Ask any entrepreneur or adventurer, and they will tell you failure is essential.

However, I do not wish to embellish this article with positive psychology to make you feel good.

So let's cut to the truth since something drew you here, whether by accident or as a regular reader.

For many, surviving means getting through the daily grind, only to endure the same battles all over again. This is not living because you are needlessly clutching to life.

I realise you will have commitments and obligations. Mouths to feed, expenses and a mortgage to pay.

Still, there's a better way.

You may want more, though life can be difficult and challenging at times.

It's worth reminding yourself, however, that the obstacle is in fact the way.

Some people seem to be thriving under whatever conditions they're faced with, while we wonder why we are stuck in our predicament.

To thrive means to grow and flourish, not simply to scrape by. This is the premise of the film Groundhog Day, in which a weatherman played by actor Bill Murray, strangely lives the same day over and over again.

No one wants to get by when you have hidden potential waiting to emerge.

"You have everything you need to thrive; you just have to plan for the race of your life. Each person's journey and process is unique. The key to adopting a disruptor's mind-set is to honestly assess your internal value chain to overcome every obstacle in the way," states author Jay Samit in Disrupt You: Master Personal Transformation, Seize Opportunity, and Thrive in the Era of Endless Innovation.

A Shift in Mindset

Those who thrive nurture their personal growth and step outside their comfort zone. Those content to merely survive are happy not to disrupt their lives because of the anxiety and tension involved.

You can use tension and anxiety to give rise to creativity and opportunity.

Thriving requires a shift in mindset and taking chances on occasions.

The key to thriving is recognising you are unhappy and willing to make changes, irrespective of the steps involved.

There is a staleness to surviving, in that you become wearied and discontent. Your soul calls you to venture into the unknown where freedom and good fortune lies.

"Survive first, thrive later: that's the motto of the lower brain. The well-documented tendency of our lower brain to encode negative, fear-based memories more readily into our unconscious memory than positive ones is referred to as negativity bias," affirms author Linda Graham MFT in Bouncing Back: Rewiring Your Brain for Maximum Resilience and Well-Being.

No one enjoys setbacks and mediocrity because the human spirit is full of potential and purpose. Life consists of constant change, for it is sewn into the fabric of our lives.

To shift from surviving to thriving, simply begin by attending to your negative thoughts.

Destructive thoughts can run deep into a person's psyche if left unchecked. Replace the negativity by addressing the underlying beliefs supporting them.

You cannot move from surviving to thriving in days or weeks. Personal development is a journey of self-discovery and the pinnacle of achievement.

You deserve to have more and be more.

But, you must take the first step and move forward in that direction.

Dr. Alex Lickerman reinforces this thought in The Undefeated Mind: On the Science of Constructing an Indestructible Self. "Indeed, the ability to soldier on when obstacles block our way to any goal, whether our life's mission or our most trivial wish, has to be considered as much a part of resilience as the ability to survive and thrive in the face of adversity."

Thriving Is a State of Mind

Don't be concerned getting from point A to B in the shortest time. For as soon as you arrive, there will be another place for you to transition to.

Take responsibility for your life by choosing your conditions, instead of blaming outside circumstances.

As you know, victims are stuck in a despairing mindset, believing the world owes them something. They contend life conspires against them, without realising they create their own circumstances.

It helps to know what you want from life. I'm not talking about superficial things such as the car you drive or house you live in. Yet something deeper: your purpose, what kindles your spirit and makes you come alive?

I realise this is difficult for many to answer. Though it is important to know what is of significance to you.

"When in survive mode, thriving takes a back seat. Although many opportunities might arise for a shift to a positive thriving mode, the brain with this narrowed focus is incapable of registering and capitalizing on them; this is part of what keeps the negative vortex going. Negativity is therefore a self-reinforcing and self-fulfilling mechanism in the brain," states author Shirzad Chamine in Positive Intelligence: Why Only 20% of Teams and Individuals Achieve Their True Potential and How You Can Achieve Yours.

Thriving is a state of mind in as much as surviving is a negative state of mind. Therefore, shift your awareness from negativity to what is working in your life.

There is nothing novel about surviving. If you remain in this state for too long, your spirit contracts. This is tied to the deeper purpose for your life, regardless of whether you know about it.

We all want to find meaning in our lives. However, if you do not make empowered decisions, you relinquish it to your unconscious desires.

"This old, struggling 'you' is not natural or 'real'. Your higher self is the most natural 'self' for you to be. You were meant to thrive. But you'll only find this out when you take action," avows Steve Chandler in Time Warrior: How to Defeat Procrastination, People-Pleasing, Self-Doubt, Over-Commitment, Broken Promises and Chaos.

Take small steps without being fixed on the destination. Ultimately, your journey is one of self-discovery.

The journey is filled with highs and lows. The lows help you to master yourself, so you gain lessons significant to your personal growth.

As a final point, refuse to accept negative conditions being permanent. It was Charlie Chaplin who quipped; "Nothing is permanent in this wicked world, not even our troubles."

Knowing you were born to thrive is motivating, since there is more to your life's narrative than you presume.

It involves merging into a grander version of the life you only thought possible.

Everybody Wants to Achieve Success in His/Her Efforts

Everybody wants to achieve success in his/her efforts. As we pass through many facets of our lives, a large number of persons find it difficult to achieve success/progress. The reasons are many: i) inability to reflect and introspect, ii) a large number of persons is entrenched in the web of bad habits (acquired in the teenage).

To change the trend, read the "Path", understand the concepts; practice little by little. Then, you can achieve amazing success in all your endeavors.

• First, in the list that you need to do is increase your level of confidence. Of course, it is natural that the level of confidence varies from person to person. You can call it an inherent property of the body and mind together that has combined to action. But definitely, you can bring upon change if you want to achieve it. Psychologists are of the view that inaction mainly rises from lower confidence levels. If one has to achieve success then one has to gain confidence through hard work, facing failure and tackling success.

• The next thing that you can give importance to in this respect is to improve your social skills. Researchers of the University of California have found out that a successful businessman gains his so-called position by better social skills and his cognitive ability. They have performed various observations which have led them to this conclusion. Thus, they are of the view that if one is socially adept and smart then he/she can earn more and be much more successful in comparison to others. You can also take to these methods and imbibe them into your nature to witness the success you had been looking for long.

• Another thing that you should be paying attention is to your authenticity. The much-sought-after leadership quality that comes from self-disclosure and self-honesty. This helps a person to make the right decisions that are based on their values. It is true that through sincere devotion, commitment one can achieve better success than through forgery, contrition, and cheating and lack of proper devotion. So, if you are trying to emulate the efforts of a successful leader then it does not mean that you are being fake but it would mean that you are taking a serious effort to make ends be successful.

• On studying several adults and kids it was found out that grit is a significant point of success. Grit gives one the energy and the determination to make ends meet in the way they want. This helps to turn thoughts to reality maybe not in a few moments but definitely in years after working hard. What one should keep in mind is that the hope and positivity that would mark to the right path.

• The next thing will take your heart down because this is something that you will surely love to do. Psychiatrists say that investing in the relationships help in a much better way to deal with success. The key to happiness is love. This love need not be the romantic or fantasized love. It can be for family, for friends, for relatives, for your cute pets and anything and everything that is in your world. Saying that I do not negate out the romance and love that you might have always thought of. Love would definitely impart to the success in your life and make you feel happy for it.

• Stanford psychologists have found out that the way to look at personality affects their capacity for success and happiness. Those people who are having their mindsets fixed believe in intelligence, character, and creativity as unchangeable qualities. Avoiding failure is another quality that proves smartness and skill of a person. Only the people those are having mindsets of growth do recognize failure as a way to success. This can happen through facing challenges, and learning from criticisms. A common saying is that "man's true potential is unknown" and it is quite justified because the outcome would be undoubtedly the success and that would not be far behind.

• The last but not the least the ability to delay the temptation of gratification. There might be several temptations that might come in the way. You would have to refrain yourself from the temptations. Studies have been performed with small kids who were given marshmallows and were promised to be given more if they could move aside the temptation of the first one. The children who were able to stand out in the test were later found to grow up to be better human beings that the others. Their skills were refined and they were intelligent in their ways.

Thus, we believe that by increasing your confidence level, improving your social skills, paying attention to your authenticity, having grit, investing in the relationships, growing mindsets, and delaying gratification one can achieve success. These are in fact the most important and easy ways that can lead one to success. If you can understand the methods and apply them fittingly to your life then you would surely lead by overwhelming success someday in the near future.

The Best Revenge Is Massive Success

In life, apparently, the best revenge is massive success. While I tried and experienced many things in the course of my existence, I succeeded in some of them, failed terribly in others and even gave up on a few. However, failing is something no one is immune to and that we must all go through it.
Is great achievement indeed the best payback? Why are we all failing at some point in our lives? What can failures teach us? Whatever good could come out of tragedies?

Of all the people who have experienced massive success, there exists no exception to a life without failure. In fact, the masters have failed more times than the students ever tried. The determining factor is that successful people did not give up while others did. And that is why success tastes so sweet after many bitter disasters.

"The best revenge is massive success." - Frank Sinatra
However, often being considered the underdog myself, I am always rooting for the long shots, no matter who they are. For whatever reasons, people who are misfit, marginal, black sheep or dark horse are discounted continuously and put aside in life.

The Design of Success
Nonetheless, the story of these marginal is perhaps one of the oldest and most celebrated stories of our world. By being different, they often create change and achieve massive success. And we are all miracles of life. Yet, as miraculous beings, we usually look at what we do not have.

We instead prefer to compete with others, fight, hold grudges, get angry, and even argue with people who we care about. And yet, we supposed to be the smartest beings on the planet. It all seems so ironic!

The people who create massive success for themselves can let go of petty things. They influence their minds, learn, move past trivialities, and focus entirely on what they want out of life. Successful people are not being dissuaded by things like pain or failure but instead able to push past the barriers in their way and ultimately succeed.

The Misfits of Great Success
There are plenty of underdogs who achieved massive success as their best revenge. A great example of that is Sylvester Stallone. Here is an actor who came to be known through the films of "Rocky." Yet, do you know his story? Mister Stallone was at one point in his life homeless, without a cent in his pocket. He lived in a bus station for close to one month.

The movie industry rejected all of his auditions. He got turned down more than 1,500 times and told he was a 'nobody.' Can you imagine? Mister Stallone failed more than one thousand five hundred times before seeing the light. Did you know that once, he was even forced to sell his dog for 25 dollars just to cover a bill he had to pay?

He felt so sorry because his dog was his best friend. But he afterward repurchased it. And it is that same dog that appears at his side in the first Rocky movie. However, imagine just how good the revenge of massive success tasted to mister Stallone when his film had won three Oscars.

The Best Revenge Is Massive Success
Even if you are going through hard times right now, or are experiencing setbacks or failures, or if people are telling you that you are not capable of doing something, or say that it is impossible, know this: Success is possible when you believe and keep trying.

The best revenge is massive success because, in this way, you can prove to yourself first what you are capable of achieving. Do not try to convince others wrong or show your abilities because, in time, all of that will happen on its own. Consider success instead, as the best alternative.

The Taste of Success is Sweet
To reach massive success, you need to fail countless times. You might need to fail more than a thousand times like Mister Stallone. And yes, after many failures and many years of pushing forward, success can genuinely feel like the best revenge and taste so sweet.

But, once you get there, and you reached the top, all of your hard work pays off. When you accomplish the apparently impossible, you can celebrate that triumph. However, you should set the bar higher and push harder to complete even more.

Massive Success is Possible
You have to believe in yourself. Know that you are capable of a whole lot of things, much of which you do not even realize until you try. Man in all his greatness has achieved improbable things that would shock most people of the past. Massive success is most certainly the best revenge when you finally accomplish your goals.

You then realize just what you can achieve when you put our minds to what you want, focusing on it and have an unstoppable persistence. Anything is possible as long as you put your heart and soul into what you desire and pursue it with every fiber of your being.

Success is Pushing through Fears
You cannot reach success without breaking through your fears. But those steps forward also take you out of your comfort zone and change you into a stronger person. Success is not only the best revenge but is also the power that pushes you beyond the fears that are holding you back.

The reason being is that to achieve anything that may endure; you have to overcome your fears. It also makes you reach more in-depth which is something that transforms and profoundly affects you.

Success is the Best Revenge
As you work in silence, your success makes the noise for you. Other people begin to talk about your achievements, and it spread at the speed of light. Success is indeed the best revenge because you do not even need to tell anyone about it.

Then the doubters and the haters hear the news, and they become upset. In fact, a lot of people do not like to see others succeed because it makes them unhappy. They see you, a person that they know or not, who can reach massive success while they were not able to do the same thing.

Your Success is Hope for Others
Once you reach success, you become a sign of hope for other people around you. They then realize that they can also achieve their dreams as long as they do not give up and persevere over the obstacles that are in their way.

Other people can use your success as an example of what is possible in life. Not only will it be an even better payback for you, but it will in turn also be the best revenge for them. Therefore, help them prove what is possible in life when you refuse to give up and push through.

I know there a lot of people in this world who have very little belief in themselves. I want to tell them that they can achieve anything they put their mind to. Just use the success of others as a roadmap to accomplish what seems unachievable to you. So remember: Massive success is the best revenge!
