A Journey of a Thousand Miles Starts With a Single Step

The adventure of a thousand miles starts with one step. We need to do the troublesome things while they are simple and do the extraordinary things while they are little. But we often make thing complicated. We will never make an adventure of a thousand miles by fussing about to what extent it will take or how hard it will be. We make the adventure by making every day stride by step and afterward rehashing it and again until we achieve our goal.

Appreciate the journey towards a thousand miles and attempt to improve each day. Never lose the enthusiasm and the passion for what you do. Ignite the flame within yourself to make things happen. Believe that you can reach whatever you dare to dream. Never allow negativity to dominate you.

You need to visualize your dreams to turn them into a reality. One reason why dreams never go anyplace is on the grounds that the visionary remains quiet about everything. It is a calm dream that just lives within his brain. The person who needs to accomplish their dreams must share it to numerous individuals. As we consistently state it, we start to trust it to an ever-increasing extent. When we tell our aspirations in life to other people, it becomes conceivable. Moreover, it make us accountable of what we told others. It actually goads us on to really do it so we don't look silly.

We need to make a plan to reach our dreams. In fact, what we get is what we plan for. Our fantasy won't simply happen. We need to outline every step we make for accomplishing that fantasy. Thoroughly consider the majority of the subtleties. Separate the whole plan into little, useful tasks. At that point, we need to set a time frame for achieving each undertaking.

Most of the successful individuals we see are generally the hardest workers. While others are perched on their couches watching achievers dealing with their objective to accomplish their dreams. When we take a shot at it every day, in the end we will accomplish our goal.

Humility is the genuine key to progress. Sometimes successful individuals are eaten by too much success. They frequently overwhelmed by the outcome of their hardwork. Humility ends this pomposity and self-reveling trap. Humble individuals share the credit and riches, while staying engaged and hungry to proceed with the adventure of progress.

When you have achieved your objective and experienced your dreams, appreciate it. Give yourself an enormous reward. Help other people appreciate it. Be benevolent and liberal. Utilize your dreams to help others. Again, you can aspire for greater dreams and turn them into reality.

Trust me, my journey has never been easy; but I made it. There have been many good and bad times; but the decisions I made at every one of those occasions have helped shape what I have accomplished today.

A New Direction - A Path to Knowing

woman looking through window

We all get to that point in our lives when we have questions that no one can answer.

Our destiny is not often easily reachable sending each one of us to embark on a journey to find or know ourselves.

Sometimes you feel alone, discerning this is your path, solitary quietly yet you find there have been many walking down this lane with you

In our current economic times where there seems so much uncertainty we search for answers.

It's sad as many may live our entire lifetime without ever discovering our potential. Quietly you can hear the answers and guidance - a higher power that is within reach.

Higher Self

This is the power that is within you. It is your REAL self. The real you that has the total consciousness.

The "you" that is connected to the Light that never gets caught up in your daily darkness of emotional turmoil but maintains a divine perspective all through.

This higher guidance or higher self has the instruction manual to help you manage your thoughts, goals, plans, intentions and every emotion you encounter in your everyday life.

All that is required is to connect with your higher self and have faith the answers will come to you.

How to Connect with Your Higher Self

You get disconnected from your higher self any time you see yourself different than you are. You may have learned through all your fears, confusions, tears and anxiety to stay calm. By learning how to connect with your higher self- inner power, you will step into an awareness far beyond. Many are the times we allow our ego to speak, thinking it is our higher self-speaking. There is a difference in the language that differentiate ego from spirit.

It is important to distinguish between the two voices. The Higher self is what guides us to fulfill our path and wishes day in and day out. Connecting to your higher self is done purposely in the following ways:

  • Conscious imagination - Imagination is healthy, especially if it is higher self-imagination as it gives you the right answers you require in life to progress. The higher self gives you answers or advice that is more knowledgeable and wiser than you. It gives you insights into situations that have proved tough.
  • Journaling - Write down questions that have been disturbing your mind and listen up for answers and write them down as well. Journaling can be coupled with listening to your ego but with time, you will realize you are no longer dwelling on your ego anymore. Deeper and more meaningful answers will begin to surface, don't filter, just type all of them. Playing meditative music in the background has been known to work well in this session.
  • Visualization
  • Two Way Conversations

Remaining Connected

Remaining connected to your higher self is very important but fear stands in our way.

How To Be A Hero - Why Do We Love Heroes So Much?

Fire Fighter Wearing Black and Yellow Uniform Pointing for Something

Why do we love Heroes so much? Why do we watch movies and read books and listen to stories of people who overcome difficult situations? Who step into the battlefield and fight valiantly? Who face their fears and display courage, even when the odds are against them?

Why?

Because that's who we all aspire to be.

Joseph Campbell outlined a common story that is followed by heroes from ancient mythological stories through modern day movies. He called it "The Hero's Journey." He believed that, not only are humans drawn to this story, but that we all have the capacity to live it.

Have you heard of Joseph Campbell?

Allow me to introduce you.

Joseph Campbell was a 20th Century mythologist, teacher, and philosopher. He was an influential thought leader and author who wrote many books. As a college student, I had a part-time job working for the Joseph Campbell Foundation, where I was introduced to his ideas.

There is a movie, Finding Joe, that explores Campbell's ideas about the Hero's Journey. I highly recommend it! It features modern day philosophers, spiritual leaders and authors like Deepak Chopra and Ken Robinson as well as musicians, professional athletes, and even my old boss from the Foundation.

The Hero's Journey

In the movie, author Alen Cohen says "We're not separate from the characters we see in our stories and in our novels. They are us. It's one journey."

The hero's journey is defined by a few key elements. First, there is a separation and a call to adventure. The hero embarks on a journey to an unknown or unfamiliar place (physically or emotionally/spiritually). Along the way, he encounters challenges and temptations, and eventually he must face death (either physically or metaphorically). It is by overcoming that experience that they are reborn and transformed. Then they have earned the title of "Hero."

There are whole books written about this, so I am summarizing here. But the point is that the story line is the same, even though the details can be dramatically different.

The Creative And Entrepreneurial Call

There are many different "calls to adventure" that can jump start a hero's journey. And we can experience it repeatedly in a lifetime. In the movie, some of the instigators were physical challenges like a crazy skateboarding trick. Sometimes they are thrust upon you, like a serious medical condition or tragic experience. There can be geographical separation, like moving to a new location, country or culture. Or a different kind of separation, like losing a job or a relationship.

As a Content Creation Coach, I believe that both entrepreneurship and creativity are heroic calls to adventure. They involve taking a risk, entering the unknown.

"The forest represents the darkness, the unknown, the edge of your world. And it takes the courage of a hero to go into that forest. The people in your community don't understand why you want to go into that forest. In fact they're pulling you back, they're asking you 'Why can't you be happy with what you have here?' But there is this urge within the hero to go and explore."

That is how philosopher Brian Johnson describes it in the movie. Sound familiar? I think it sounds a lot like the entrepreneurial calling, or the creative calling. You have a drive within you that you can't ignore. That is what Joseph Campbell would call "Your Bliss."

One of his most famous quotes is "Follow your bliss." I used to mail t-shirts with that quote on it from the Foundation offices.

But following your bliss doesn't mean trying to be happy all the time. Following your bliss means doing the thing that you can't not do. That's where your own journey starts.

The Discouragement Of Heroes

"If this path of the hero's journey is fairly simple in design, why then is it that everybody isn't living it? The answer is that most people on the planet live under a kind of mass hypnosis." - Alen Cohen, Finding Joe

Everywhere we turn, we are seeing messages that actually discourage us from following the hero's journey. In our consumer society, we are led to believe that we should seek comfort, make money so we can enjoy the easy life.

But that's not who we are. In fact, that doesn't really exist. We are called to be more.

Deepak Chopra described it so beautifully in the film by saying, "It's very difficult for someone who's brought up in this environment of instant gratification, with the media, with advertising, with all the promises of instant gratification... You lose contact with this mythical domain that is actually part of your soul. It's part of everyone. It's their passion, their bliss, their unique skills, unique ways of expressing themselves, it's their song, which if they sing, they could do anything."

What is your bliss? What is the next step on your own journey? Have you seen the movie? What did you think? I'd love to hear from you in the comments.

And I'll leave you with one final quote from Joseph Campbell himself...

"I don't believe people are looking for the meaning of life as much as they are looking for the experience of being alive."

How to Be Observant - The Road to Success (By Sergei VanBellinghen)

Woman Facing the Ocean during Day

When you have big dreams and goals that you have not yet achieved, you almost certainly discover that the road to success is far from easy and always under construction. The journey along the way is great, yes, but it is, in fact, the times when you are often the most uncomfortable.
In truth, the most successful people I know all say that there are much more difficulties on the road to success than one would expect to find. Even if you choose to follow something you love doing, it does not mean that success will come naturally and effortlessly. It will simply be more enjoyable.

For many, it is not comfortable. It is hard. But in sticking with it, it is worth it, as it always is. Usually, most people have a few small jobs and then one job or a career that they have for the rest of their lives. But some of us don't. It was such for me; I got a different life.

Are you wondering what pushes someone to get on such an uncomfortable road?

Well, I am 53 years old today, I was born with horses around me, race horses, and so I grew up by beginning riding at age 3, I went on to be a horse jockey. Being too heavy and racetracks being closed in my country, I went on to be a horse vaulting Acrobat which you often encounter in circuses.

But as a child growing up, I always knew I wanted to build my own business. It was an incredible, profound sense of how I wanted to live my life, even before I knew what path I would take. My life is just one example of many which show that the road to success is not just a bed of roses.

Your Journey Always Begins Optimistically

When I then got the opportunity to work for a big circus in the Soviet Union, I refused because animals were treated poorly. Today, I boycott circus because of mistreatment on wildlife. When you begin to go after your goals, you think very optimistically.

It is because you have not yet faced any stumbling blocks nor understood the false myths about success. But that optimism is a part of the willpower which gives you the necessary drive to follow through on your path to success.

And if you want to see the journey to fruition successfully; then you must be aware of the price that you are going to pay to realize it. During an exhibition in the USA, I defected, worked with horses at first, but got into becoming an O.R. Technician for a veterinarian which in turn made me move to California where I worked in Hollywood movies.

The road to success is constantly being created. Here I was in a country where I did not know anyone, where I did not speak the language, where I had no place to stay, where I had no job and all of this with no money and doing this alone.

Could you do it? Could you pay that price for your success?

Of course, this is extreme, but it is how I chose to do it. So far, I have done it five times already. I had to make it happen to be where I am today. I had real awkward moments on my road to success, but I also had great times where I saw miracles going on in my life. I couldn't be more grateful for it!

The Price to Pay for Success

Over the years, you and I may have faced many hurdles. You know that you do not get there until you make it through all the barriers in your way. All the successful people you see do not come into the world already having success.

The ones who manage to overcome those obstacles succeed in realizing their dreams. So, I left the United States to Moscow, Russia where I worked in security, then back in my homeland Ukraine to work as a bodyguard and chauffeur for an acquaintance.

Each time a year brought another challenge and reason to throw in the towel, but I did not. And while I felt like I was the underdog, it just empowered me even more. I just followed the price to pay for success by going to Belgium as a chief of security. But after two years, the firm closed its doors. I found myself a year without work.

Everyone has bumps on the path to success or any other road for that matter. But I think we need it. Whether you face small or large challenges, they are all made for you to grow and progress.

I believe that if you are not at least somewhat uncomfortable, you are not pushing your mental barriers hard enough.

The Obstacles and Sacrifices You Face

My road to success led me then to Vienna, Austria where I began to work on the streets as a customer sales representative for a sightseeing tour company. Following this, I got into my own business as a digital entrepreneur as a marketer and a self-improvement & success consultant.

Being an entrepreneur requires you to face obstacles and unpleasant sacrifices like working instead of fooling around. You think while others sleep; network while others enjoy a social life or research while others spend time in front of the big screen.

What you are after becomes an obsession. And when you feel like wanting something so terribly, it is only a matter of time until it comes to be yours. There are so many dark things that you may see on your way to success such as sleepless nights, rejection, doubt, disappointment, failure, stress, fear, long hours, pain, sorrow, loneliness, setbacks and more.

All kind of feelings will be encountered on your path to success. But if you want to see it through, you must be ready to face these feelings throughout your journey. You should allow yourself to reach the potential you have been given, even if the road to victory has bumps.

The Road to Success

Do not be surprised by what you are going to encounter because the road to success is paved with sacrifices and determination. Along the way, you will have to face stumbling blocks, twists, walls, barriers and curves.

You might never know how far the road will take you or if it is just around the corner, but at those times, push a little harder. Your journey will be determined by your willpower, hard work, belief, consistency, resolution, and above all persistence.

You need to be willing to take risks and fail as many times, only to get up and try all over again, and again. The road to your success is not a straight line, but much longer and has more bumps than you could imagine, particularly if you have or start your own business.

But when you do succeed and overcome all the obstacles, there is no greater pleasure than making your dream come true. Just stay focused on the end result. It doesn't matter how tough things are, never, ever give up. It is all part of the journey to success.

If I am telling you all of this, it is because you need to prepare yourself for the things you are going to face. This path is not for everyone and is not pink every day, but in the end, when you successfully make it to other side and realize that you accomplished your objectives, you will be grateful you did.

Today I help like-minded individuals on the road to success by helping them create a life they dream of having.

Befriend Your Mistakes: Explore and Soar!

Mistakes and how you manage them will, to quite a large extent, determine your path and the degree of success that you experience in this world.

Too often, mistakes are viewed as roadblocks or detours on your journey toward accomplishing your goals. But think about the impact of this reaction...

Can you see how this is really an overly cautious and self-defeating perspective? One that clamps a tight lid on your curiosity and your creativity?

Think about how children learn, exploring their world for the first time. How many bumps and bruises do they collect as they learn to put one foot ahead of the other? How many unsuccessful tries does it take before those first successful steps?

And yet, this is anything but wasted time. Along with each so-called 'failure' comes the incremental learning that eventually leads to success.

Mistakes - They Never Get Old
And so it is with us, too, no matter how old and how experienced we are. Our miscues and errors can always be mined for gems of wisdom.

Jony Ive has a very practical perspective on this whole process.

But who is Jony Ive and why should we be interested in what he has to say?

Well, he's Apple's senior vice president of design and he has played a very significant role in shaping Apple's design choices since he joined the company in 1996. Arguably one of the most successful companies in the world, much of Apple's success is due to its twinning of technological excellence with a unique and elegant aesthetic.

And what Jony Ive says is this:

"There's no learning without trying lots of ideas and failing lots of times."

If you're afraid of getting it "wrong" you're not going to try the idea you just had. You'll dismiss it out of hand, and then you'll never know what might have come of it.

In fact, eventually you'll probably stop even having so many ideas. You're training yourself to shy away from "mistakes." This, in turn narrows your world and nips many a possibility in the bud. It's a challenge that many people face - and perfectionists, in particular, struggle with this.

How do YOU feel about it? What does your learning process look like and where do you put a lid on your own creativity?

It's really worth thinking about - and I'd love to hear what you discover as you explore.

Message From the Universe: The Journey to the Unknown

"The one thing all famous authors, world-class athletes, business tycoons, singers, actors, and celebrated achievers in any field have in common, is that they all began their journeys when they were none of these things.

Yet still, they began their journeys.

You are so poised for greatness,
The Universe"

The Universe had a start with the Big Bang, and it is said that is it constantly expanding, which means that the Universe is constantly progressing, taking up more space, and opening new worlds and galaxies and possible other Universes. We, as humans, should approach life the same way. Always wanting to be better, but to be better, we need to start somewhere. There is also a beginning, and that beginning is based on your thoughts and actions. IF you feel you need to change, then go for that change. You need to create a master plan and be clear with your intentions. Know what you want to do and just go for what you believe in. Never let anyone stops you in your track telling you that your goals and dreams are too big to make them happen. You are in control of your own life.

Greatness is within all of us, but it is important to understand how to expose this greatness and work on developing it throughout our journey in life. You can't stop and say that you have reached the best you can be because this will be far from the truth. If you look at God himself destroying Earth with the flood and realizing that his first few tries were not good enough and God tried again and again until he got it right. If God feels the need to make changes in his own creation, do you feel you shouldn't? Are better than God himself? We all need to change and look for the best side of us and extract what we feel is good and pure. Once you have mastered that part of you, focus on removing the remaining negativity that might linger within your subconscious mind and only accept the positive thoughts. At this point, you will witness great changes and will look forward to a new and exciting life.

The Problem With Willpower

I'm addicted to learning and recently I've been enjoying a number of writing classes. Our stories have some common themes.

First, there's an unselfish goal. Our hero can't have any personal gain from their achievement. Second, several mighty obstacles to reaching that goal appear and defeat seems imminent. Finally, an enormous sacrifice made by our hero helps them reach their goal but at a huge personal price.

It makes for a great story, but in real life it's a recipe for misery. We're biologically programmed to self-preserve, to grow, to avoid pain and seek out pleasure. And unless we're sociopaths, we also get a nice hit of feel good chemicals when we do good in the world.

While our biology tells us to seek out pleasure, our stories tell us this is selfish and hedonistic.

Scott Adams has a great book called How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big: Kind of the Story of My Life and he's got an interesting theory on selfishness. I won't spoil the book for you, but it got me thinking. Suffice it to say that he suggests you look out for your own best interests without being a jerk. And that may be a good formula.

I think it's from our stories that we get the idea that if the journey is miserable, it makes reaching the goal sweeter. There's a puritanical belief that suffering is the only path to real achievement. But that doesn't make a lot of sense.

I believe that misery is an indicator. There may be moments of boredom or discomfort along our path, but the journey we choose to take should be enjoyable most of the time, punctuated by moments of excitement and driven by passion.

You would never prepare an entire meal with spices and ingredients you loathe in hopes of having a delicious meal. Yet, we do this with our goals all of the time. College students buckle down and power their way through classes they hate so they can get a degree in a field of work they think they'll love. People plug into willpower and endure jobs they hate so they can get a promotion in hopes that job will be better. We feel we can punish ourselves into a happy and fulfilled life. That's what the stories tell us, but it's not true.

Passion and the inevitable consistency that flows from it is far more important to success than willpower. Passion carries us through those brief boring or unpleasant bits we need to do so we can get to the fun stuff. But it should be interesting and fulfilling and fun along the way.

Think about the goals you're working on. Yes, it will be exciting when you achieve them, but are you enjoying the work you're doing to reach that goal? Do you feel passionate about each step? If not, do you have the right goals? Or do your steps need adjusting?

3 Clues to Your "Why"

If you want to make a difference and live a life of significance, you find your why. You need to tap into your purpose. Everybody has one. Your why is the life's blood of your ability to achieve significance.

If you know your why and focus on going there with fierce determination, you can make sense of everything on your journey because you see it through the lens of "Why". Once you find your "Why", you will be able to find your "Way". How do those things differ? "Why" is your purpose. "Way" is your path. When you find your "Why", your path automatically has purpose. And life becomes much more meaningful and complete because you have context to understand the reason you are on the journey the first place.

Does the "Why" always comes first? Can you find your way and then find your "Why"? You may be wondering. What has to come first? The good news is that either can come first. But if the "Why" comes before the way, your ability to tap into power of significance will come more quickly and immediately be more effective.

Think of it like this. Have you ever wondered why people often find great joy in packing for a vacation? They spend weeks building up great anticipation, looking forward to those warm days on a tropical beach or trips down the slopes of their favorite ski resort. So they pick out each item that goes into the suitcase with great care.

When you get ready for a great trip, almost all your effort is focused on your purpose of the trip. That's why it's a lot more fun to pack for a trip than it is to unpack afterward. This concept applies more broadly to our lives. Whatever path you travel, you are going to be able to do things more significantly because you understand your purpose for being there.

When you start your day with your "Why", you will find yourself continually doing things that inspire you. Finding your "Why" gives you the focused and driven energy.

If you tap into your "Why", your life will open up to significance. It will be within your reach every day because you will be able to do simple things that matter. Significance is usually not a result of anything spectacular. It is based on small steps in line with purpose. Knowing your "Why" helps you to know what to do and to follow through.

Know yourself and settle your "Why", and you will have the capacity to focus on others.

Knowing your "Why" gives you great security and comfort in everything you attempt to do That confidence and self assuredness is usually appealing and reassuring to others because most people long for it.

The first question you must ask yourself is this: How can I add value to others? If you can quiet yourself enough to listen for that answer from within yourself, you will begin to understand your why.

I have to tell you that this question has been the foundation and driver of every significant act in my life. Did you get that? Having a life that matters comes from the ability to add value to others. This is where significance starts. Let that idea stir within you.

So here are three questions you can ask yourself and which will help you to find your "Why".

Here we go. Here is question number 1.

Question number 2 and 3, I will share with you in the following weeks.

Question 1:

What do you cry about?

This first question asks you to look inside yourself and think about what breaks your heart. What disturbs you? What inflicts emotional pain? What causes you so much discomfort that you are motivated to take action and do something to bring healing to that situation?

So, what makes you cry? What makes your heart break? What touches you at the depth of your soul? Do you already know the answer? Or is it something you need to start exploring and thinking about?

When trying to figure out what makes you cry, you can look at your personal history. You can think back to your childhood. You can tap into social justice issues that get you angry. You can think about the last thing you got highly emotional about - or the thing that you always get emotional about. Any of these things can be clues to what makes you tick. And they will help identify your "Why".

Question 2:

What do you sing about?

What always makes you happy? What puts a bounce in your step? What makes you jump for joy or spontaneously break into song? Emerson said: "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well".

Doing acts of significance brings you more deep satisfaction than any other work. It fires you up and keeps you going. As the saying goes, work is not work unless you would rather by doing something else.

What do you sing about? What gives you great joy? What feeds your passion? What feeds your soul? What gets you excited?

When you ask other people "What do you sing about?" many people respond by thinking about what entertains them. There is certainly nothing wrong with being entertained or having fun. But what we really talk about is something that makes contented joy spontaneously rise up within you. It's the kind of thing you would do for free, just because. Once again, these are clues that help you to understand your purpose and know your "Why".

Message From the Universe: Where Opportunities Knock More Than ONCE in Your Lifetime

"Never compromise a dream.

Do what you must. The fears, beasts, and mountains before you are part of the plan; stepping-stones to a promised land; to a time and place that is so much closer than even you suspect.

Don't let your eyes deceive, for even as you read these words, your ship swiftly approaches.

Tallyho,
The Universe"

Do not be fooled by these sales people telling you that THIS is an opportunity of a lifetime and that NOTHING like this will ever come again. Yeah Yeah Yeah, heard that one before. Opportunities do NOT come and knock on YOUR door, YOU go knock on them. You have the right to knock on as many doors as you want, make a choice to which door seems the most beneficial to you, and once you have chosen that knock, make sure to knock it down hard. Yes, your knuckles might hurt a little, but that shouldn't stop you from getting what you want in life. Once you've knock down the door, if nothing inside seems appealing to you, you shouldn't get disappointed or depressed. Plenty more doors out there are waiting for your knocking. As many dreams and goals that may cross your mind on a daily basis, you will have the same amount of doors waiting for you to go through. Do not let the fear of the unknown stops you from moving forward. No one really knows what is behind that door, but since you created that path that lead you to that door, you feel pretty confident that your destination will be as magical as the journey. If not, then so be it. Another better destination is available through another door.

We are all familiar with the complexities and hurdles life has to offer, and there is nothing really we can do about it. Some can dodge bullets like Neo from the Movie the "Matrix", and do that all through their lives but others will eventually get hit and it will hurt bad. However, those who get hit will manage to get up and heal their wounds and move forward and still succeed. So who has more merit? The one dodging every bullets or the one getting hit, heal and move on? I guess it all depends on many external conditions that you are experiencing at this moment. Some would love to have that capability of dodging every bullet life throws at them because of them having to deal with so many challenges day in and day out, while others would prefer getting hit by the bullets so they can experience that pain and give them more tools for their life ahead, allowing them to built immunity and learn from valuable mistakes. The choice is yours. No one else out there can see life the way YOU see it. Never compare yourself to anyone, especially when it comes to using your weaknesses against their strengths. You will lose every time. Stay wise my friends!

The Path To Success Is A Very Lonely Road

Most people do not seem to get the fact that the path to success is a very lonely road and is never a perfect one. In truth, it does not even occur in a straight line but rather in a sinuous one since reality on the way is full of ups, downs, twists, turns, obstacles, and setbacks. Not an easy feat to achieve!

But whoever said it was going to be easy?

I do not mean to spook you, but you should be ready for it if you embark on such a journey. You need to know that this path is not for everyone and is a very lonely road indeed. But if you who are brave enough to follow your dreams, no matter how impossible, you will get there with enough persistence and patience.

The ability to stay focused for hours, days, months or even years on the path to success is the fruit of an exceptional blend of abilities, mindset, and skills that you can develop and tap into over and over to realize your biggest ideas.

Many dreams will begin, some will end just before encountering success, and others will get to fruition. Most people seem to believe that if the timing is not right or if things are not perfect, then they will never succeed.

And if you continue, you might change or adjust your sails along the way, because success is never a final destination. It is an essential thing to think of because each journey towards success in your life will evolve.

Why Success is a Very Lonely Road

You may get upset, frustrated, and even have the desire to give up when certain things are not going flawlessly as you planned it to be. My advice to you: Don't give up! The goal here is not to avoid such setbacks but rather to learn how to use them to your advantage by making them work for you instead of against you.

The road to success is a very lonely one. What I mean by that is that the sacrifices you have to make often leave you feeling isolated, like a lone wolf walking down a path looking for its prey. But realize that it filters the weak person out from the determined.

In missing sunny days and not being as social as your friends, you inevitably distance yourself, and people around you will feel like you are ignoring them. Weekend nights at home working on your dreams can often leave you feeling like one of those hermits walking across some desolated mountains.

You will find yourself having fewer friends. The sacrifices you make on the path to becoming successful come with a high price at times, but it is worth your while. Most people look at those who have more success with bitterness, jealousy, and even hatred. They fail to realize the work you had to put in while they were having fun.

It is Not a Straight Line Either

Now that you have a much understanding of the statement "The path to success is a very lonely road," you should understand that it is not a straight line either.

There are twisted and curved lines called failure, confusion, friends, enemies, family and mistakes. But, by arming yourself with weapons like determination, persistence, faith, and focus, you will make it to a place called Success.

To succeed you have to improve each day, work hard, hustle, be resourceful and self-conscious, and yes, build relationships with all. And if you choose to arm yourself with these weapons, I know you will be better equipped on the path to achieving success.

Again, it is not easy. Very few people have the guts to do this. But those who do, focus, which stands for "Follow One Course Until Successful." Such a small amount of people make goals, use time, ask the right questions, take risks, get other's opinions and make the moves that they say they would.

Actions speak louder than words. You stand out. You are reading this for a reason. So believe you can achieve all of your dreams and even more.

The Path to Success is a Journey

There is a maxim which says "If you find a path with no obstacles, it probably does not lead anywhere." Everyone has to overcome barriers in life, but a successful person is the one who faces failures with strength and audacity and surmounts them.

The path to success is a journey, one small step at the time, day after day, week after week, month after month. If you believe your dream is worth it; then you must commit to it, make the sacrifices you have to, and endure the loneliness.

It is through trials and errors, and failures that you learn. If you fail somehow and then, decide to work harder or find another way for the next time around, you will most likely succeed. But if you lose willpower on the first few obstacles coming your way, then you will continue to fail.

Do not be afraid to dream big, set goals that most think are impossible. The harder you work, the better your bed feels as you lay in it. Be aware, use your abilities and be your best. Once you make the commitment to succeed, keep going!

The Key is Patience

There is another key on your way to success, and it is called patience. Too many people are in such a hurry for instant gratification, and do not understand the real signification of "Success Overnight."

To be successful, you have to be patient. The motto of the accomplished man is "Let's try again and again." It is your determination, hard work, patience and trust in the process that lead to success.

You have to face the challenges that life throws up at you because it is the only way to succeed. If you look at the life of any successful person, you will see that they had to face many challenges and struggles.

You have to do the same at some point, even if people doubt you. But understand that it is then that you know you are doing it. It also depends on the person you are. Are you the type which fuels you to go after what you want, no matter what others say?

If you rise when you fall, you will succeed.

A Few Tips on Your Way to Achievement

To Be Successful, Be Prepared To Be Doubted

In truth, to be successful, we have to be prepared to be doubted and often lose before even truly win. Success is a lifelong journey to walk on and ascent. While most of us begin our journey on what seems a smooth road, it quickly changes, bringing us uninvited turns, and unknown ups and downs.
So, how do you keep going? How can you deal with the pain, doubt, and criticism? In what way could you ever cope with failure? Is it worth all the trouble?

Well, if you want to succeed you must be prepared for any eventuality and have the resilience to face the inevitable. To be successful, you always have to take risks, change, adjust and self-develop. It is a pathway of personal growth that teaches you to deal with pain, doubt, and failure. You learn that you have to get up each time and push forward.

In any case, when you want to be successful, just be prepared because you will be doubted and tested beyond reason. An important advice is once you begin following your path, you want to fail as fast as you can because if you do not, those failures may become more costly later on.

But success can be achieved! There are countless of diverse possibilities, and where there is a will, there is a way. The world's most successful people often speak about their journeys. They even share their thoughts on how to realize it, and on how to reach it.

"Learning from the worst of times will prepare you for the best of times." - Billy Cox
The First Lesson to Be Successful
Ask any successful person, and they will tell you that for any significant accomplishment they have made, they had to undergo countless of failures. Failures are a way to know how to progress. They are lessons that lead us to be successful, but many do not always see failure in that way.

Often than not, failing is an undesirable vibe. Yet, failure is indeed essential to be successful at something. Most people never experience such feelings because they fear failure like a disease. But you should embrace failure. Yes, no one says it is easy, but it shows that you at least had the balls to try.

Therefore, when you want something, you must be willing to sacrifice and fail to acquire it. It is not an option you can avoid. When failure happens over and over, it can be very discouraging, but it is also the reason why most accomplished people are mentally strong. They never underestimate failures but rather know that they are the laying groundwork to win later.

Be Prepared to Feel Pain
To be successful, you must travel through a painful journey. You need to agree to take suffering as your traveling companion, because resisting it is futile and generate more difficulties. Feeling pain is an unconditional part if you want to pursue success. Just know that every painful story has the probability of reaching a fruitful conclusion.

Doubt and pressure are inevitable. Both stimulate you to make changes, this way teaching you what you need to reach success. At times, stress can drive you in the right direction. So, see each day as a blessing with brand-new odds and opportunities to continue forward.

Be Prepared to Be Doubted
Now, when you want to be successful, you should always keep your dreams close to you because when you share or talk about them, cynics and critics begin to appear. The reason being is that those people are too scared to pursue their own dreams, so they try to crush yours.

It is the way most human beings are when one is trying to be successful. So, avoid those negative thoughts as they are extremely contagious. A lot of closed-minded people will doubt you, try to scare you and even discourage you from going after your dreams.

Therefore, you need to be immune to these impacts when you are on your quest for to be successful. Work in silence and let your success speak. Just prove these naysayers wrong. You may not succeed the first time around, and it also may not happen for the first five times but do not stop until you do.

"The successful warrior is the average man, with laser-like focus." -Bruce Lee
To Be Successful Is a Choice
To be successful is a choice, and of course, it is all yours to make. Let me remind you that while you walk on your journey to success, you will at times find yourself in a floating or random direction. You then will experience powerful instants of feeling lost and desperate. And it is in these times that you must hold tight and get control of your willpower.

You need to be prepared to battle that tiny voice inside your head when you have to push yourself to keep doing what you do not feel like doing. When things look grim, you may feel like quitting, but it is the fastest way to ruin your chances. When you are on the front lines or in awkward moments, keep at it, rather than quitting. So, when wanting to be successful, you must persevere and rise.

"Don't limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, you can achieve." -Mary Kay Ash
Be Ready to Doubt Yourself
As you begin on the road to success, you find that you have feelings of being entirely paralyzed at times. The reason is that you doubt yourself. Every so often, you doubt your abilities, knowledge, or choices you have already made. You may even doubt your intuition.

Doubt creates a conflict within you over what choice you have to make to move forward. You should not delay because of thinking you might carry out the wrong decisions. To be successful, you have to push through any doubt you have and not allow it to distract you.

Know that the only wrong choice is not making one. You have the option not to doubt yourself so that you can grow and achieve. Doubts are an unavoidable part of being successful. The crucial part is that you act despite your fears.

"If you really look closely, most overnight successes took a long time." -Steve Jobs
Be Prepared to Lose Relationships
On your path to success, you should realize that some friends, relatives or loved ones will not be willing to support you. Wanting to be successful takes an incredible amount of energy, effort, and sacrifice. So be prepared as most of your relationships will not tolerate it, because they might feel like you owe them more of your time and effort.

All accomplished individuals make tremendous sacrifices to get to where they want to be. They trust that their friends, relatives, and loved ones will be beside while on their journey and support the sacrifices which they have to make.

You have to be prepared to lose relationships with the people who do not avidly share in your dreams. As you go along the road to success, your path will narrow down, and a handful of relations will fall off of it.

Be Willing to Be Hated for No Reason
The truth is that most people do not like successful people. Ordinary people hate the ones who have or do everything they cannot. Envy and jealousy always play along when standing out of the crowd and humbly chasing your dreams.

So, if you want to be successful, be willing to be hated for no reason. Strange as it is, no matter who you are or what you do, there will always be a certain amount of people who will not like you. But success is your biggest revenge. Therefore, learn to let your haters make you even greater.

To Be Successful Is Worth All the Trouble
To achieve anything and be successful, you have to believe in what you are doing. You have to know beyond doubt that you can and will succeed, and you have to trust the process. Anything can be accomplished when the right thoughts and actions are united. Success is worth all the trouble!

"Define success on your own terms, achieve it by your own rules, and build a life you're proud to live." -Anne Sweeney
So, the lesson here is that you need to become stronger from your failures, not weaker. Analyze why you failed. See what is wrong and what is right. Make an evaluation of your skills in the areas needed for you to be successful. Adjust your sails and keep moving forward.

Obstacles, walls, and failures are nothing but other necessary elements for your success. It all starts with you. While you see that to be successful, you have to make sacrifices, keep the focus on your vision and trust in the process; it still all worth it in the end anyway. Tomorrow may never come; so start today.

Standing In the Sands of Time

Focused life energy appears like the beam of a laser pointer, directing you to observe specific points. The pointer is a powerful tool, demanding that all attention is carefully engaged. Focused life energy is the most powerful tool in your tool box of life. Scattered life energy appears like a kaleidoscope with continuous breaks in the design. While you may find it more dramatic and entertaining its value is limited to simply observing. It doesn't really direct you to look at anything except the breaks.

Life energy is scattered by variables we have been exposed to that were dramatic enough to consume your attention. This cycle typically begins in early childhood where life skills are honed. This is unfortunate because you have far less control over the events that may even be bizarre but are presented to you as 'normal.' Even though you smooth it over, looking away from events and the damage left behind, it is no less a shattered childhood causing confusion and bad choices as you learn to navigate mixed signals in your daily life. Sadly this spills into adulthood where you practice a 'go along to get along' approach or the exact opposite, rage. Both are guaranteed to make your journey difficult and far less successful than it could have been. It is not uncommon to see a survivor attitude surface as the twists and tangles of life begin to unravel. You learn to ignore the niggling doubts that things may not be as they should and compromise or simply swallow the bitterness that accompanies the pain of the losses. Both invite a friend named Misery into your life journey. By adulthood you may even be comfortable with this old friend, trusting it more than happiness.

Like living under cover, you learn not to expect much from others in your life and rarely believe good things will last. This is a part of the 'survivor syndrome' that keeps you prepared to let go when you imagine you have lost. It is the 'I ain't scared and that didn't hurt' cry from a child still attempting to make it through the pain. There is no healing if you remain on this path, but there are some surprises.

You may find yourself in relationships where 'give till it hurts' becomes your mantra. Like a doormat with a smiley face on it you keep on keeping on, many times attracting abusers or narcissists into your life. This ensures that you will be pummeled like a punching bag with others rage, insults and outrageous demands. On and on it goes, or so you thought. The surprises arrive as warning shots from within. You may ignore them at first, like the signs of an approaching heart attack or stroke that you ignore. Why not since you are the survivor? You may skip right past those early warning signs but like a freight train barreling down the tracks, the one that gets your attention is approaching if you ignore the early signs. Something really is happening here.

You are not alone on this journey. You are accompanied by your higher consciousness, a part of you that has survived intact. More importantly, you are sharing this journey with your Creator; you may recognize this as your soul. This is the source of those warning shots. It is an alarm attempting to wake you up, asking you to make a change now. This part of you has made a decision. No longer willing to continue on a path that has veered so far from the one filled with hope and promise that accompanied you into life, you are provided perhaps a final opportunity to make the necessary changes that allow your life to be enriched with things that are in your best interests offering purpose and joy, or leave.

Too many times the human response is to stand in the sands of time, firmly fixed in place, staring at the tide as it washes over your feet. The tide literally drags away the sand beneath you. This is a reflection of the years passing by being pulled from beneath you, disappearing forever. Life may seem not to be fair or that your path was more difficult. Why, why you wonder? Why did it work out this way, why did things never change? The answer of course is because you never changed. Even when the warnings came you survived them and returned to the sameness that was suffocating the best that you could become. Why?

Intimacy Is Attractive (By Jeanna Gabellini)

Photo Of Man Kissing Woman

Many years ago I attended a 70th birthday party for an extraordinary coach and leader, Chuck Roppel. The invitation said the price of admission to his one-man show was that you had to wear a dress.

I had no idea what we were in for at this event. We dolled ourselves up and were delighted to see that even the men attending wore dresses (although some very reluctantly!).

The dresses were used as a potent metaphor for the different "dresses" or "roles" we wear throughout our lives. We have the dress of being a good student... or a rebellious one. The dress of an employee for this company or an owner of that one.

We have our dresses that stay on for decades or the ones we try on and tear off immediately. Each dress leads us to the next dress.

Chuck's one-man show took us through all the dresses of his life up to that point. I thought I knew him well after being in a leadership program with him for a year and hanging out with him for over a decade.

I was wrong.

Chuck revealed so much about himself at his celebration that most people were moved to tears and/or hollering with joy. He created so much intimacy in the theatre that the room buzzed with admiration and love for this amazing man.

He did it by simply being himself and inviting us into his journey. He told stories, tap danced, sang, and dressed in his own ball gown at the end. He held nothing back about who he has been and what he craves for the future. It was sooo attractive.

I believe more intimacy can be allowed into all of our lives. In fact, I'd love to see more of it in the business world. Much more. I mean real intimacy.

Too many people are hiding behind what will look professional or trying to make a good impression. Some folks don't even know they have armor on. When you withhold who you are, you pinch off the flow of abundance. You repel instead of attract.

Now, I'm not promoting airing your dirty laundry. We don't need to know all of the details of your past. But we are attracted to people who know how to create intimacy by fully showing us what's underneath the dress.

We want to see You. Simply you. Be good at allowing YOU to come through everything you do in your biz, and your 5-Star Clients will come a knockin'.

To become successful, you have to start at the beginning because it is a process. To finish any great endeavor, you have to start first at the very beginning and work throughout the end. Remember a winner never quits whatever setbacks are there along the way.

The more you develop yourself, the more the possibility for you to succeed in any given area of your life. To get from where you are to where you want to be. It should be aligned with the direction of your dreams. Map out the circumstances you need in order to get ahead in your life. Make realistic goals. A taste of success in one of your goals will motivate you to achieve the next goal. Either right or wrong, you start moving forward. That's the time that you learn because each right or wrong step will provide you wisdom and direction.

Having Regrets of Past Failures?

“Many times what we perceive as an error or failure is actually a gift. And eventually we find that lessons learned from that discouraging experience prove to be of great worth.”
― Richelle E. Goodrich

What Are You Unconsciously Accepting?

Words of Wisdom

I love the scripture passage that talks about Paul's experience after a shipwreck in Acts 28:3-6: "Paul gathered a bundle of sticks, and as he laid them on the fire, a viper, driven out by the heat, fastened itself on his hand. When the Islanders saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, "Surely this man is a murderer. Although he was saved from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live." But Paul SHOOK the creature off into the fire and suffered no ill effects. The Islanders were expecting him to swell up or suddenly drop dead. After WAITING a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they CHANGED their minds and said he was a god!"

When we read this passage, we might relate to it only as a historical event or we can choose to dig deeper to get insights and apply it to our life. For me, I see this passage as the drama of life taking place in the heart of everyone that walks the face of the earth. Whether they are aware of it or not it makes no difference. It's operation, as the law of gravity, unfold in each and every one of us at different times during our journey on earth.

Environment is our looking glass

If we are not watchful, we might unknowingly allow our environment - people, institutions, friends, or even family members to project dis-empowering ideas or thoughts upon us. The scripture parallel relating to this idea is "The Islanders (which represents the worldview, society, institution, and race mind) were expecting him to swell up or suddenly drop dead". If we allow those negative ideas, thoughts to take root by accepting and getting emotionally involved with them, they will take effect. This is not because those ideas or concepts have any power of their own. But, simply because we moved internally through our thoughts, feelings and moods; and gave power to them. By law, they will reproduce in our outward experience as conditions.

We all are immersed in the race or world mind; suggestions of the world are continually impinging upon our consciousness. Our mind receives according to our degree of receptivity.

The race mind operates like a silent killer. The person who is asleep can allow the race mind to awaken fear, doubt or worry in them; because they do not have the awareness and understanding to shake off the latent poison. They inadvertently move to the tune of the race mind internally and thus manifest that which is projected upon them. So sad yet so true!

What are you Focusing On?

Whatever we give attention to, and get emotionally involved with goes forth to produce its kind in our outer experience through circumstances and conditions whether positive or negative. The world - society or people we come into contact with may be projecting ideas and concepts based on our past behavior, background or experience. If one is asleep (not spiritually alert), those ideas can take root or continue to propagate themselves.

Remember your past does not define your future except you accept it and continue to get emotionally involved with those negative concepts. Nobody has power over another; the power is within each one of us. We are given the choice on how to use it whether for good (well-being) or evil (misery).

We need to shake off any unconscious latch the world - no matter what or who it is - want to place or project upon us and FOCUS on our ideal. Change occurs from the INSIDE OUT, not the other way round. Trying to change something on the outside without the corresponding INNER SHIFT is futile. If done correctly and persistently no power in the world can stop you, but they will come around to aid you.

This is so simple, sometimes misunderstood and made complicated. You see, we need to hold steadfast to that which we want. If I hold up a horrible painting in front of a mirror, it will reflect exactly the picture held before it. The mind is the mirror; that is why the Law of the Lord is always perfect. Our world is always a perfect reflection of our inner state of consciousness.

Develop the Habit for Success

Meanwhile for some people, this process might require a 90-day continuous discipline of the mind. The mind can be likened to a horse; I understand that it typically takes 90 days to tame a wild horse. The human mind, though more powerful than the horse, if left untrained can run wild and rule a person's life. But when tamed can be our partner rather than our adversary. This takes practice and consistency.

Marcus Aurelius Said:

Our life is what our thoughts have made it!
Video showing a horse trainer, watch how the wild horse is tamed. One needs to follow this process if they want to discipline the mind. This is a beautiful analogy of the conscious and subconscious mind brought into harmony. The subconscious mind is the powerhouse. It is written "As a Man thinks in his Heart (subconscious) so is he". Through discipline and continuous practice a wayward mind is brought to subjection!

https://youtu.be/9Dx91mH2voo

The more we commit to personal study and lean towards taming the mind the more we grow internally. With time our outer world will reflect that which we are dwelling upon internally.

Take Action

One sad thing that I have come to realize is that some people would rather choose to remain asleep. This is fine, and I respect their choice because honestly the world also needs its sleepers not everyone can play the role of an actor without an audience. It takes one who is asleep to show another person that they are awake. This is a world of contrast; a world of choices, for there cannot be an inside without an outside. My hope is that this article would stir someone who is asleep to wake up and embrace their divinity. This is the most thrilling and exciting period to be alive and as Alvin Toffler said:

The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot LEARN, UNLEARN, and RELEARN
If we do not think for ourselves, and if we do not cleanse our minds, we will suffer, because we allowed fear, false beliefs, and erroneous concepts of the world to impinge themselves upon us. Then the world-mind does our thinking for us and acts upon us bringing accidents, disease, suffering, etc., into our lives.

The world-mind is the mind which believes in disease, failure, misfortune, terror, and superstition. If we do not pray and cleanse our mind regularly, we may also get into trouble. There is no chance or accident; for all is Law. There is a mind, a state of consciousness, which is the cause of all.

To your New Awakening!

Persisting Through Resistance

The story of Nelson Mandela's fight for freedom is a great example of the quality of persistence. Born on the 18 July 1918 in Mvezo, a small village in South Africa to Nonqaphi Noskeni and Nkosi Mandela, he was originally named Rolihlahla Mandela.

Nelson Mandela took keen interest in the apartheid rule dominant in South Africa upon hearing his elders recount stories of his ancestors' bravery during the wars of resistance. He was determined to contribute to the liberation of his people. The years that followed saw him sacrifice more than twenty-seven years, fighting relentlessly for racial equality in South Africa. Although the journey was full of bumps - betrayals, defeat, trials and even convictions, his efforts finally paid off, as generations to come will still feel the impact of his legacy.

Now, while striving towards building a global business, a career or fighting a cause, throughout your journey there will be resistance, sometimes from external sources and at other times from internal sources. This could appear in form of fear, defeat or low self-esteem. How do you persist through them? Here are three suggestions to guide you.

Set your eyes on the prize

The prize is synonymous with the motivations for your aspirations. Simply put, what do you stand to gain after you have attained that goal? All Nelson Mandela wanted was for racial discrimination to end in South Africa. This quote from his Dock speech at the Rivonia trial of 1964 provides insight into his motivation.

"I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and equal opportunities. It's an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it's an ideal for which I am prepared to die."

Setting your eyes on the prize helps you to endure and also propels you to go the extra mile in your endeavors.

Learn from your mistakes

You will make a lot of mistakes along the way, but a mindset that failure is part of the process will help you move forward. Hence, focus more on learning from them and moving on quickly, and remaining resolute. The Harvard Business Review recommends that business leaders should study causes when analysing a failure event. They should create an environment that counteracts the blame game and encourages employees to feel more comfortable with learning from their failures. The result of this, in the long term, is strong controls and secured processes.

Shut out Negativity

Psychologists agree that people are likely to remember unpleasant memories than they will pleasant ones. It is OK to agree that you are not getting your expected results if that's your reality. You can always review your methods and devise new strategies to meet your goals. Look out for constructive criticisms and try to resist the urge to dwell on the negativities.

Your focus should be on the goal at all times. Whenever you are stuck, remember the popular Nelson Mandela quote: "It always seems impossible until it's done."
