How to Improve Your Emotional Health

Physical health is important and so is emotional health. If it is out of balance, we tend to experience a few physical symptoms like high or low blood pressure, mood swings and pain in the body. Feeling good about yourself is of utmost importance. It eases you off with the struggle of facing ups and downs of your life.

Here are 5 helpful ways which can help you boost your self-esteem and enhance your emotional health.

1. Associate with Like-Minded Fellows!
You may or may not like having too many friends in life. But it is important to have their back up. You always need people whom you can share your concerns without being hesitant. No matter what age group you fall in, you can always grow the circle of good companions.

2. Stay Up For Learning Always!
It is truly said that knowledge is power. Use this amazing power to boost your self-esteem. If you are facing any issue, learn about how you can heal it. The more you learn, the better you are able to deal with it. Besides, you can always pick the area of your interest and enhance your knowledge.

3. Get Going Regularly!
You don't have to act perfect in everything you do. Take up any exercise and enjoy. Regular exercise works best on every aspect of health, be it physical, emotional or mental. It also works wonders for people who are dealing with moderate or mild depression but don't take medication.

4. Take Time Out for Intimacy!
Intimacy is vital and so are its benefits. It brings you every sort of emotional benefit. Despite making you feel good about yourself, it amazingly works on boosting your self-esteem. Discuss with your partner and come up with a plan that suits both of you and make the most of it.

5. Follow Your 'Passion' with Passion!
No matter what background you have, you can always have at least one hobby. Figure out what brings you more joy-whether you love taking care of plants, listening to music, collecting antiques of penning down your thoughts. Develop your passion and take pride in what you do. It will definitely help you boost your self-esteem.

6. Observe Your Eating Pattern!
Indulging in Alcohol can help you temporary but it will lead you to harmful results later. The same applies to food as well. You can eat whatever you want but it is important to watch over it. Enjoy having smaller portions and indulge into regular exercise. If you maintain a healthy weight, it helps in achieving good emotional health.

7. Heal Yourself with Yoga and Meditation!
This is one of the most effective activities for managing stress. It is a focused form of beautifully guided thoughts. However yoga is movement-oriented, yet it has also been a proven stress buster since ages. You can also add deep breathing or muscle relaxation techniques. Start practising any of them for around 30 minutes thrice a week and then make it regular.

15 Habits of Extremely Happy People

Happiness is every person's goal in life. Even though most people have no idea of what to do to be happy and what happiness really adds up to. We all strive to stay relevant to our goal.

1. They are not self-absorbed

This is a person that generally does not make everything about themselves. They are open-minded and allow their thinking to go beyond their heads. They welcome other people's suggestions and criticism. They don't take other people's opinions about them personally. They build their character based on well-thought out choices and opinions. They positively accept correction from people and also appreciate other people's way of life.

2. They are appreciative and contented

Being contented and showing appreciation is a character trait that most people don't have. They take a lot of things for granted not knowing they deprive themselves of the small joys of the world. Being able to appreciate someone else for how they have dressed, made their hair, their new pair of shoes, being able to see the other person laugh and smile and having contributed to them having a nice day is even a greater way of being happy.

3. Making alone time and meditating

This is a vital part of being happy and knowing yourself better. Having alone time helps one check on their character, know what makes them happy, sad, set life goals, etc. When meditating, one learns what to focus on with life, what makes their life better and how to better themselves. Making sure to have some alone time also keeps someone in a peaceful mood and helps them to face their fears.

4. Doing things that make them genuinely happy

Being happy is a full-time job, so each of us needs to find what genuinely makes them happy and avoid hypocrisy. Doing what genuinely makes you happy will help someone from harboring hate and toxic feelings caused by forced happiness and pretending to be happy for everyone else's sake. Most people have an illusion of happiness and they don't try and find genuine happiness or what activities genuinely make them happy. So they end up feeling unfulfilled and sad. So, finding genuine activities that make you happy is a great step to being extremely happy.

5. Having a positive attitude towards life

Life brings a lot of challenges with it and the sad part is life challenges are inevitable. People have to find better ways to cope with that. People with positive mindsets have it easier when difficulties come to their path. They see problems as challenges that they have to face to pass a given stage and enable them to relate to things in a better way. Those who are afraid of challenges will always feel condemned and sad because they never know their way through.

6. Being at peace with yourself, friends, associates, and family

You should try, as much as possible, to be at peace with those close to you. These include friends, family, work associates and, even your partner. These people play a major role, what they do can directly affect.

7. Enjoying every moment

Most people take for granted moments spent with other people; either playing, out for coffee or chilling in the house and even time spent with their family. They fail to maximize the fun they would have had during these times. This is also a way of harboring regrets and unfulfilled moments that people have. Hence having bad days and tough times.

8. Respecting yourself and not settling for mediocre

People who know what they want in life don't settle. They know their purpose, set goals and work towards them. Despite the challenges they might face on their way to success, such people don't give up. They are grounded and they don't settle for mediocre results that are unfulfilling to them. They know their self-worth and they work at achieving what they set their minds to.

9. Staying healthy

Health is a major contributor to happiness. This entails having good eating habits. Make sure you have a balanced diet, take lots of water and make sure your meals are hygienically prepared. This will help you avoid sicknesses and stay healthy. Exercises also helps people stay in shape and avoid diseases caused by unhealthy eating, it also helps someone unwind and feel relaxed. Ensuring one is clean by bathing, putting on makeup, perfume. This helps boost someone's confidence and makes them feel good about themselves.

10. Rewarding and feeling good about yourself

Everyone loves gifts and being appreciated. Most people forget that you can buy yourself gifts, appreciate yourself and feel good about it. We all have our shameful struggles or our bad habits that we aren't proud of. When you stop a bad habit and no one notices, treat yourself out, buy yourself some new belt. People might not know how big a deal the situation was or how much you struggled with it. Awarding, and giving yourself credit for it, is not a bad thing. This will help you see yourself as an achiever and will also boost your self-confidence.

11. Surrounding yourself with people and things that bring positivity in your life

The people and things someone surrounds themselves with say a lot about them. They highly contribute to someone's character and thinking. If you surround yourself with people who are always about the positive side of life and encouraging one another to be better versions of themselves, then there are high chances that that is the kind of person you will be. This character building technique is important in our lives. You should be careful who you relate with because they influence you in a wonderful way.

12. Treating people with kindness, respect and being happy for them

One can create happiness by seeing other people happy. This is also a way of trying to live a fulfilling life. Help people out when you can, reach out to them when they need your help. Visit the patients in hospitals, help out in orphanages, give food to the homeless. You feel fulfilled when you are able to make someone smile and be happy. Treat your friend who delivered a presentation. These are some of the ways in which being kind and helpful to others can bring to you happiness through these simple gestures.

13. Not comparing yourself with other people

Comparing yourself, your personal achievements and successes with those of other people is not a healthy way of being happy. Most people forget that everyone is totally different from others and we all have different struggles in life. Comparing yourself to other people is an injustice to yourself and you end up degrading yourself and end up leading some sad, unmeaningful life. You should try and better yourself from what you have. You should not consider another person's success makes them better than you for any reason. Focus on bettering yourself on what makes you happy and fulfilled. Make your own path to achieving your goals and dreams.

14. Have life-improving goals

Most people settle for what they are offered even when deep down they know it is not what they want or deserve. This ends up making them feel less of a person or not fully recognized by people. Make sure you set goals that help you become a better person. Either mentally, financially or physically. Strive to make the best out of yourself and when faced with challenges don't despair. Make the best out of your worst experiences.

15. Allowing yourself to be human

We focus so much on other people and make considerations for them rather than for ourselves. We forget that we also hurt, feel, cry and make mistakes. A lot of people are so focused on their mistakes and setbacks, they forget that they also fall, fail and make mistakes, which is okay. They should accept that mistakes are inevitable, and you can always make the best out of them and learn something. Forgive yourself as often as possible, accept your faults and apologize when needed, or when you know you are at fault. Don't forget, you are just as human as everyone else and, just like them, you also can make mistakes and be at fault.

Conclusion

We are all entitled to being happy and finding fulfillment in whatever we decide to do with our lives. People should realize their happiness solely depends on their choices and perception about life and what it brings with it.

Procrastinating? Try This Simple Formula

Do you have those days when you just aren't motivated or inspired to follow through on your good intentions? You're lethargic, stuck in procrastination, and just can't seem to get started. On days when I don't feel like meditating, exercising, writing, cooking healthy food, or doing anything I really need/want to do, I've found a simple formula to get me going: low expectations and an easy warm-up.

I start with low expectations by telling myself, "If I do a little, that's good for today." I usually define "a little" as half or less of what I might normally do. For example, with exercise, it might be 10 minutes of cardio, instead of 30, and one set of 5 strength exercises, instead of two sets of ten exercises. With writing, I tell myself I'll just write a paragraph or two. Because I've done more in the past, I know this lesser amount will be easy.

With my low expectations in place, I start with an even easier warm-up, something that feels like nothing at all. For exercise, I just start moving. This could be a walk or riding a stationary bike with little resistance. If I'm writing, I start with one sentence of any quality. I just get something written down.

Once I've gotten myself moving in this small, easy way, I often find the internal juices start to flow. With exercise, I begin to breathe a little deeper, feel a little looser, and my energy increases. With writing, ideas come to mind, associations click in, and I often find myself in the flow.

Invariably, I exceed my low expectations and end up feeling good about my efforts. I remember why I wanted to do what I'm doing. It feels good. It's taking me somewhere I want to go. It helps me feel productive, purposeful, and alive! At this moment of feeling good, make sure you record this experience in your memory. Then, you can recall this positive feeling of "being in the flow" to support you to get going the next time.

Now, if I do a little exercise and a little writing every day, it's easier to stay in the flow. It's easier to be consistent with a small doable action. That's the power of having an intentional daily practice to grow something that's important to you-be it your health, relationships, business, art, or spiritual growth. Small consistent actions are the building blocks of big accomplishments. They're the key to deeper meaning, purpose, and productivity.

And, if I just don't feel like taking action--if I find myself procrastinating--I go back to my low expectations and easy warmup to get me going. If getting started is the hard part, make getting started as easy as possible.

Are you ready to be free from procrastination and self-judgment?

Simple Secret to Clear Your Mind & Boost Your Energy & Brain Function (By Kevin Schoeninger)

How often do you feel mentally foggy, emotionally stressed, and/or physically lethargic? In this article, you'll learn how to instantly clear your mind, while boosting your energy and brain function.

I went downstairs to my teenage son's lair the other day and found him intently slouched in front of the Xbox. He had been down there for a couple hours. When I asked him how he was doing, he returned a lethargic mumble. Xbox is one of his favorite activities, and I love that he can play online with his friends, strategize, problem solve, and have fun.

However, too much time sitting and playing Xbox makes his brain dull and his body lethargic.

We have a deal with him that he can play Xbox as long as he goes to Kung Fu at least 3 times a week. Fortunately, on this day, Kung Fu was just minutes away. I asked him to get his uniform on, so we could get going.

A remarkable thing happened at Kung Fu. After about 10 minutes of warm-ups, stretching, and forms, he was laughing and talking. His energy was brighter. By the end of class, he was talking up a storm in the car on the way home. The physical activity had transformed his energy, attitude, and mental clarity.

And this happens without fail pretty much every time he goes to Kung Fu.

In the same week, my wife was struggling with some old mental-emotional patterns. She was very self-critical on her looks and lacking confidence in what she is doing for work. From my perspective, this is crazy, because, for one, she is absolutely beautiful, and two, she is wonderfully good at her work doing Intuitive Readings and Reiki.

Nevertheless, there was no pumping her up or talking her into a better mood.

Then, she went to her Ninja training workout. This workout really tests her on obstacles, strength, mental focus, and endurance. She was a gymnast growing up, yet the balance, power, agility, and strength asked for by that class really pushes her to the edge.

She called me on the way home from her class-and she was gushing with enthusiasm. She had just made it up the "Warped Wall," and completed a preliminary "Salmon Ladder" that she had been working on for months. She was physically tired, but, at the same time, emotionally energized and happy.

The self-criticism and self-doubt were gone.

As a Personal Trainer, I've seen this happen again and again with my clients for over 35 years.

They come in tired, stressed, frazzled, frustrated, or worried-and they leave relaxed, energized, mentally clear, and feeling good. And, research back this up.

Physical training gets blood flowing, bringing more oxygen to all your cells-including your brain. It pumps lymphatic fluid, which clears toxins from your cells. It stimulates good-feeling neuro-chemicals called "endorphins." And, it even stimulates new neural connections, boosting your mental clarity, brain function, and creativity.

I've proven this time and time again with my own workouts. Whenever I am in a mental funk, feeling lethargic, or frustrated with a problem, I workout-and not only does it boost my energy and clear my frustration, the solutions to what I am working on seem to magically appear. Because of that, I often keep a pen and paper handy when I workout.

Now, over the years, I've discovered that there is one key to shifting your energy, clearing your mind, and boosting your brain function using physical activity. That key is to push up to your limits to some degree. That is what stimulates more oxygen delivery, new neural connections, and those endorphins.

You can do this using cardio, strength, stretching, or mind-body training-or ideally some combination of all of the above.

Using cardio training, which is any continuous rhythmic movement that elevates your heart-rate and respiration, you need to go at an intensity that makes you breathe heavily and rapidly, at least for a short period of time. It's best if you do this alternating harder and easier intervals.

Using strength training, with body weight or external resistance, you need to push your muscles until they feel somewhat challenged. Take a break and do it again.

Using flexibility training, you need to stretch to the limit of your flexibility and then work at that edge by imagining that you are breathing into and out of the muscles you are stretching. In this way, you gradually, mindfully, increase your range of motion.

Using mind-body training, you need to challenge your body with tasks that ask for your full attention, such as balancing, practicing a skillful activity, or focusing on the sensations inside your body while moving.

In these ways, you engage your mind and body, challenge yourself at least slightly, and come away feeling mentally clear and refreshed as well as physically relaxed and energized.

So, the next time you feel mentally foggy, emotionally stressed, and/or physically lethargic, take a break for physical activity. Engage your mind with your body by challenging yourself in some way and paying attention to the feeling of what you are doing. Then, notice how you feel afterwards.

Record that good feeling in your body, so you can remember it to motivate physical activity the next time you feel foggy, stressed, and lethargic.

If the memory of physical activity doesn't pull you out of your chair, consider putting a regular exercise class in your schedule, setting up a regular routine with a friend, and considering what physical activities you really enjoy-such as dancing or hiking in nature.

Physical activity that challenges you slightly and feels enjoyable is a surefire way to instantly clear your mind, while boosting energy and mental clarity.

So, what are you waiting for? Get up and move!

Your body and mind will thank you!

Too tired to exercise?

Six Steps to Alleviate Stress for Chronically-Ill Individuals

Managing stress is hard for most of us. However, it is especially hard for the chronically-ill person as she experiences a lot of pain and fatigue at all times. And this pain and fatigue over time can cause stress of its own.

The best thing you can do with stress is to learn to cope with it. Today, I will show you how to manage stress in six easy steps.

1. Cope with pain or discomfort right away instead of waiting until your pain gets so bad that you are stressed out by it. You may want to take a pain pill or just simply rest. But listen to your body.

2. Practise self-care. The best way to reduce stress and to manage it is to consistently take care of yourself, even when you are feeling good and all is well. Do things that you enjoy every day. Don't forget to meditate and take deep breaths. All of this will help you in the long run to feel better.

3. Cope with feelings of frustration, confusion and anger right away. If you feel very frustrated or angry, it is time to stop and take things off your to-do list. Please don't just keep on going. Instead, just take the time to make space for yourself and how you are feeling. Journal, crochet, take a long walk, take a long bath. Do whatever you need to help yourself focus.

4. Take steps to maximize the quality of your life. It can be hard to do this suddenly. However, if you take your time to do things that you enjoy and to not overdo it and put yourself first every day so that you don't overstress, you will be improving your quality of life.

5. Understand your condition. They say that knowledge is power. And this is absolutely true when you are living with a chronic condition. You must try to know as much as you can about what you are experiencing. Go to workshops and read books about it. There is a lot of literature on all different chronic conditions.

6. Observe your own body. Determine if you are getting more disabled or if your condition is getting worse. Take the time to look at yourself in a full-length mirror often. This will also give you a good indicator if you are standing straight, how your posture is, and so on.

By taking these steps, you will be managing your stress and taking a bold step forward towards living better with your chronic illness and breaking the cycle of pain and disability. Only you can do this for yourself.

Delving Deep for Inner Insights

Man in Red Polo Shirt Thought a Good Idea

If you've done something you're embarrassed or ashamed, unhappy or guilty about avoid just coming away from the situation and feeling bad. The following is a process you can follow that can take you from feeling bad to feeling good about yourself and the situation in a matter of minutes.

Consider a recent occurrence that gives you that sinking feeling and observe the emotions and physical sensations that come to the fore. Try not to judge the emotions and sensations or try to suppress them. Just allow them to be for a moment, and tell yourself that with or without these feelings and bodily sensations you are OK.

Ask yourself what happened, what was the outcome of that occurrence? Then ask yourself what were the thoughts, feelings, habits and behaviours that led to that outcome? A useful technique to use here is the 'Ask Why Five Times' technique. This involves asking yourself why you thought or felt what you did, and why you behaved the way you did. The idea is that you keep asking the question 'why' in different ways to get to the answers.

Some of the variations of the 'why' question may be:

· What's the reason behind me doing, thinking, feeling this way?

· What is it about this thought, feeling or behaviour (T, F or B) that appeals to me?

· What benefit am I getting from this T, F or B?

· What does this mean to me?

Avoid 'I don't know' answers as this lets you off the hook. Ask yourself 'If I were to guess what would I say?' Your best guess is based on your gut reaction and is usually right.

Don't stop until you start to delve into territory that is new for you. Then continue to ask questions. When you start to repeat the same answers you can be pretty sure you've got to the end of the questioning process.

Your aim is to uncover some of your automatic ways of being that are the deep-rooted, underlying, real reasons for your behaviour. It is also about uncovering the true reasons for any lack of fulfilment or satisfaction you may feel in life.

At that point it's about asking questions such as:

· How can I think, feel or behave differently to start to change these habits?

· What actions can I take to bring about a different result effortlessly and easily?

This exercise if carried out correctly can give you some significant insights into your motivations for doing what you do, and puts you in a position of control. When you uncover the real reasons behind your behaviour, thoughts and feelings you start to understand who you truly are. And this is the beginning of you taking control of your life.

Message From the Universe: Quit Playing Games With Your Mind

"Dues? You don't have any more dues to pay! That was all taken care of eons ago.

I know, I know... you don't believe this. OK, Plan B: You do have dues to pay. You must slave and scrimp, you must wriggle and pimp, work overtime, pound the pavement, sacrifice, barter, and be selfless; endure the naiveties of others, work a job you don't love, unlearn a lifetime of bogus teachings.

Are these the dues you believe in? Well, have you not paid these... ten times over?

It's like you won the galaxy's "Live the Life of Your Wildest Dreams Lottery" a long, long time ago, but instead of checking your numbers, you just keep buying more tickets. What's up with that?

Happy Tuesday,
The Universe"

We tend to not believe in ourselves hard enough to comprehend the complexity of events that surrounds us. We feel like we do not deserve the good things that SHOULD happen in our lives and focus more on the things we care NOT to have. By doing so, we feel that when facing a hard challenge, it is a part of our journey in life, a part of what we were destined to deal with at any given time. Putting long hours at work, responsibilities, financial obligations constitutes what we call a normal life to live. We keep wishing for fortune and glory to come into our life but our thoughts thinks differently. Even though we feel that we have paid our dues to society and it is time to live a good life, we act differently as to this unattainable wealth is meant for others. We do not give ourselves credit to understand that abundance is out there and that everyone on earth can take their piece of that pie. Our mental approach to this unattainable wealth stays the same as we feel like we haven't done enough in our lives to deserve that tasty pie. These actions continue to perpetuate your mind as to keep doing the same thing over again and hoping that one day, if it ever happens, will bring in the things you always dreamed about. This attitude is conflicting to what you need to share with the Universe and it will never render the desirable results you always worked so hard for.

To change things in your life, you first need to start changing your thinking. Everything starts with you. When you go on the web, and order something from Amazon and made your payments, do you go back on Amazon the next day and order the same exact thing or you just wait for your order to be shipped to your home? For most humans, we are already certain that, if the fulfillment part is done correctly, you should receive the item within the next few days. The same works with your thoughts. You need to think something good, and use shifters that allow you to think good things before the bad start polluting your mind. Shifters are the things that you love doing, activities that makes you happy, people that you love spending time with. So when bad things happen, use these shifters to go back into feeling good about life, feeling excited about doing things that brings back positivity into you well being. Get away from this negativity and focus on your short term goals. Do not let yourself get intimidated by your dreams, or feel like they are too big for you to handle. Just focus on taking that first step and create that momentum so you can reach your wildest dreams. Going back to the Amazon example, never second guess your thoughts and having to double check if events should occur a certain way. Think positive and let the Universe take care of the rest. By doubting, you are telling the Universe:" hmmm, I am not sure about this thought or don't know if I deserve these good things happening to me." You are then allowing the Universe to stop processing your order and shipping absolutely nothing into your life. The Universe knows best so once you ask for things, let it take care of fulfilling your demands. One more thing, before you keep buying these lottery tickets, look at your chosen numbers first to make sure it it is NOT a winning ticket.

Goals Vs Intentions, What Gives?

I've been sticking to my extra self-care practice once a day 90% of the time and it feels amazing!! Realizing some days it won't happen, but for the most part it will, has made all of the difference in feeling good instead of not. It can be easy to beat ourselves up if we're not perfect all of the time - and for me - if I can do this most of the time I am legitimately happy and satisfied and that's really all that matters. What will make you feel good about your goals and intentions this year?

So I've heard a lot of judgements lately about the word "goals" and how no one wants to crush anything anymore and how that doesn't feel good. I've peeled back the layers on this and hope this helps you in looking at what feels best for you. In today's article I identify the ego and how it plays a part in this practice.

Goals vs. Intentions

What I've come to realize is what's rubbing people the wrong way about "setting goals" is that it tends to be about pushing. Pushing for more, wanting more, never being satisfied with what you have, and continuing to strive. Bottom line meaning you are not enough. Whatever you have now is not good enough, meaning you're not good enough, as most people measure their self-worth by what they have or don't have and not by whom they are on the inside. Their worthiness comes from the external and is not internal.

This is the ego.

Those thoughts that are telling you don't have enough and need more. That you need to keep striving so that one day you can finally feel good enough after you have "made it". Whatever that means.

Here's the thing though. The ego is never satisfied. So if this the thinking you are identifying with and listening to...

IT WILL NEVER BE ENOUGH!

You will get there only to find you need more, and the cycle starts all over again.

So when people are getting upset with the term goal setting, what I really believe deep down is that most people are setting goals from their ego. And this is why it feels off. We're tired of this. We want a new approach that actually makes us feel good as we are now and not as though we are lacking in some way.

What does that look like...

DECISION.

The decision to follow our hearts and what brings us joy, and xoxo.

How Do You Know If You Are Living Your Purpose?

As a society, we continuously contemplate the meaning of life. In trying to define the reason for being, we attempt to understand the purpose of our own lives. That said, how do you know your purpose?

Some believe that purpose can be derived from chasing a passion. Oftentimes, people equate passion with activities they enjoy most. However, the most successful people do not limit their life's purpose to activities that only bring pleasure. Their desire to accomplish something great is bigger than any inconvenience life presents. These achievements are made only through a high level of commitment, prevalent in the face of any pain or discomfort.

For example, Usain Bolt is the fastest man in the world. When he trains, he pushes himself so hard that he occasionally vomits during his workouts. Though far from pleasurable, the result for him is the ability to break world records in the 100 and 200-meter races. How many are able to say they are willing to endure that extreme in order to become the best at their passion?

Nowadays, many people pursue one aspiration after another. These changes can take place over the course of weeks, months, or years. Consider this: if your passion is your purpose, why would it change?

In other cases, people seek purpose by looking for signs. They wait for events to occur or people to show them the way. However, it would be fair to say that most people go to their grave without ever knowing their life's goal.

Others may have witnessed a sign, but lacked the courage to pursue it. They reassure themselves saying, "it's not the right time" or "I don't have the money to fund my goals". Some wander in circles, needing another sign to prove the first signal was in fact leading them toward their purpose.

Seeking purpose, to say the least, is a complex process. Perhaps it is complicated because we have made it that way. We are conditioned to wait for life's purpose to do something to us. It is no wonder most go to the grave without knowing and experiencing their life's purpose.

To be the best at something requires practice and preparation. In Malcolm Gladwell's book, Outliers, he said those who mastered their craft did so because they practiced for 10,000 hours. That implies practicing in the face of good and bad days. There is no magic to it.

How do you know what to allocate 10,000 hours of practice to? That question may be key to finding one's purpose. Perhaps feeling good or waiting for a sign can be a dead end street. Perhaps the only way to know one's life purpose is to declare it. Instead of waiting for the right moment, take a stand and decide what your purpose will be.

If you say, your life purpose is to be a criminal lawyer, declare it and take action. Perhaps the only key to finding your purpose is right on the tip of your tongue. If you can stand for your own future to be who you say you want to be, you can announce it and practice and prepare to fulfill all the goals that come with that purpose. This approach would allow you to 'live on purpose', instead of 'looking for a purpose'. What purpose will you declare for your life?

Uncover the Light which is your inner divine Self, and although we know the importance of feeling excellent, the majority of time in life we forget it.

We are so hectic at handling the "important matters" we must oversee every day and fulfill, and we forget the more important matter" Feeling excellent, live a tension totally free life".

Remember, A Course in Miracles teaches about tapping into and being aligned with the center of your inner Light. It's the highest quality of Who and What you are!

This is a technique that you hold in mind a favorable image, a minute of your past where you were feeling excellent, or simply a thought of an occasion that makes you feel all lit up inside.

Some people discover it is difficult to hold an image, and my response to them is just pretend you see what makes you begin feeling excellent.

The significance is not how plainly you see, however how strong you feel.

Capture Miracle Moments:

We do not remember all things happen in our lives, but we remember some moments.

The function of this way to feel happy is to assist you in recalling those wonderful memories so that they will make you better.

Till you find your ability to always feeling excellent, you will enjoy the process of working toward that goal.

Course in Miracles states, "It is through us that peace will come."

Give thanks to your inner Light which you have uncovered, for supporting you and pointing the way for feeling happy.

Be Appreciative

Say thanks to your mind for letting you realize how the world you needs you, and be grateful to your physical sensations for providing you the awesome feelings of the universe within you.

Remember that the ways to feel happy in this world is what you offer to the universe you shall get back a thousand fold or more!

Because they invest in the universe, the most highly effective people on this planet are always feeling excellent.

To that feel good feeling in you!

Hooked On A Bad Feeling

A woman walked into the beauty salon, sat down, looked in the mirror and said, 'You know, some days I wake up, look in the mirror and just want to kill it with a broom.' She imagined the hairdresser saw what she saw. One was looking through the eyes of fear, the other looking for possibilities. Maybe you are one of the people who say, 'Every day I wake up, look in the mirror and I'm still fat, still ugly,' or like the woman who demanded a refund from a makeup seminar because, 'You promised to make me beautiful and I'm still ugly!'

Sometimes the people around us help us embrace bad feelings about ourselves. Being bullied, sibling rivalry and abusive relationships, including friendships, are the most common causes of this. Building good strong emotions about ourselves is a work in progress; it requires being vigilant and ever aware when we are slipping into a negative state of mind about who we are.

Any observer knows when we are afflicted with this. Feeling bad about ourselves causes our shoulders to droop. We hold our head down to avoid eye contact, sure that we will find repulsion in the eyes of those around us. We rarely smile leaving facial muscles lax; this actually alters our appearance. Many times we are driven to excesses to cover false perceptions. We either wear too much makeup or none because we imagine it doesn't matter. Hair colors may vary like the seasons while clothing choices run the gamut from looking like an unmade bed to dressing for a cocktail party at 9:00 AM. All are inappropriate and attract the very attitudes we are trying to avoid. Worse, people who are afflicted with this rarely are hired for really good positions and attract bad partners who tend to further abuse them. This reinforces the original fear based bad feelings. It leaves one feeling like a caged rat running on a wheel, going nowhere, trying to escape from passersby who stop to stare. There now, we have consigned ourselves to a life of mediocrity, a hum drum existence where we finally end up with a partner and maybe a friend whom we 'go along to get along' with.

How can one escape this self-inflicted, caged existence?

1) Find someone you truly love; never accept treatment from anyone that you would not accept for that person. You are learning to treat yourself lovingly.
2) There is a deserve-ability issue here. You can only have what you believe you deserve. Discard the reasons why you may not deserve anything you want. Get out of your own way. You are leaning against the door where it is delivered.
3) Believe you are welcome; feeling welcome is essential to feeling good about any situation. If anyone says you are not welcome, cross them off; they are beneath the new you.
4) Search online for the best hairstyle for your face shape, the correct colors for your skin type and the most flattering style of clothes for your body type. Forget finding someone who looks like you may want to look. You want to look and be the best you can be.
5) Stand in front of a mirror with a piece of paper. Cover each of your features and find the best one. Highlight that one.
6) Find a wall and back into it; square your shoulders. Now drop your shoulders to a natural position so you will not appear to have your back up. Get a book and a pair of heels. Place the book on your head and walk across the room until you have mastered walking with it on your head. Now you can confidently look others in the eye.
7) Your consciousness responds to the things you say and believe. Never again make a disparaging comment about yourself. It does not know when you are joking. What you say and believe will be delivered. Believe in and speak words about the you that you want to be.
8) Find something you love to do and get involved in it. Join something, read something or do something different at least once a month. You are creating new good habits.
9) Find something to laugh at, even if it is an online video. Practice smiling and finding joy.
10) Accept that you are more than a human being; you are a human becoming.

All of these things teach you to be discerning, about your own life and situations around you. If you are uncertain about anything, your first impression is the most correct. Don't inject anything to alter it. Learn to trust your own judgment, to laugh with others instead of imagining they are laughing at you and most of all, learn to laugh at yourself, These are all joyful endeavors. You are unique. Everyone is beautiful in some way. You have a purpose. You are entitled to happiness. You must participate in your own success. None of these things are as difficult as living in the shadow of your own fears.

What's Perfect About This? (By Kathryn Corbin)

Image result for feeling joy

I can tell you it didn't immediately feel wonderful when my internet went down. Again! After I'd already had three service techs come out in one week [including one appointment that lasted more than 3 hours], each one assuring me I would have no more issues. It didn't immediately feel wonderful. In fact, my stomach was in knots and I felt awful.

But the thing is I can't stand to feel awful anymore. It's just not OK anymore.

So I did what I coach my clients to do - Step back and ask: "What's perfect about this?"

Determined to feel better, I breathed, chanted and sincerely asked "What IS perfect about this situation I do not like?" In addition to sweet relief, I got these answers:

*I can practice Feeling Good No Matter What.

This is the muscle I most want to strengthen. I want to be the kind of Conscious Creator who can notice something unwanted and immediately DECIDE to be OK. Feeling good inside is SO much more important to me than external conditions.

*I can remember I am never required to feel bad.

There is NO situation that requires me to sit in prolonged suffering. The first thing to remember when something unwanted happens is that I have a choice in how to respond. I am the decision maker for my life and I get to choose!

*I can practice rising above unwanted circumstances.

It feels good to take my power back and shift my focus. It feels good to know I have the ability to raise my vibration and feel good regardless of conditions.

*I can appreciate what I DO have and what IS working well.

Appreciation is always helpful in climbing back up the emotional scale.

*I can remember that feeling good is the most important thing.

My desire to feel good is the reason I want the reliable internet service or any other condition anyway.

I get it. Sometimes expecting ourselves to find something perfect in truly dire circumstances is a stretch. At those times, a softer question such as, "What wonderful thing will come of this?" might be easier. We can all remember unwanted situations that turned into something truly valuable.

Another good question to ask and answer is, "How can I feel good even under these conditions?" [A takeaway from my first Abraham-Hicks workshop, May 2005 in Asheville, NC.]

What's perfect about this?

What wonderful thing will come of this?

How can I feel good even under these conditions?

These questions enable me to quickly find my way back to feeling good no matter what.

Everything that happens is a gift bearing the opportunity for higher levels of joy and empowerment within. I accept that I simply can't expand without real world opportunities in which to practice.

Each time I choose to feel good no matter what, I raise my dominant vibration - which makes it quicker and easier to find my way back when contrast brings its next gift.

Each time I choose to protect my vibration as my most precious treasure, life becomes more fun and more joyful.

As Abraham reminds us: "If you had one goal, and that was to feel good, you would never again need to hear another word from anyone. You would live successfully and happily and in a way of fulfilling your life's purpose ever after."

How To Make The Law Of Attraction Work For You (By Kathryn Corbin)

Photography of a Woman Holding Lights

One of my stellar clients [they're all stellar!] wrote on his Session Prep Form that he had received yet another promotion at work and his co-workers were teasing him about "building an empire."

He also said co-workers have been asking him how he does it, i.e., how he continues to receive promotions and expand his team and excel at a pace that is unfamiliar for most. Plus, he's only 31 years old and most of his direct reports are significantly older.

I don't think they were really expecting an answer and probably wouldn't have understood his real answer anyway, but I asked him the same question. How do you do it? He acknowledged that as an excellent question and promised to think about it and let me know what he came up with at the following week's session.

He decided it had to do with deliberate focus and positive expectation. He said he is very deliberate about what he wants and makes sure his desires are backed up by belief.

I totally agree with him about those two and I would add one more - feel good. In fact, I'd put feeling good first.

As we continued our discussion, it occurred to me that these three steps apply to more than this client getting a promotion at work. They actually apply to everything and are the three steps to making the Law of Attraction work for anyone.

Let's recap:

1 Feel Good. Maintaining a high vibration is essential to allowing in what you want. When you feel good, your vibration is high and you're a vibrational match to your desires.

2 Deliberate Focus. Clarity is required here. You must know what you want and you must be clear about what you want. With a clear and deliberate focus, you broadcast a laser-like signal and the Law of Attraction easily matches that signal.

3 Positive Expectation. As he told me about this most recent promotion, he said, "I knew it was coming!" He has trained himself to believe that his desires are not only possible but probable. How many times have we heard people who get in the "hot seat" at an Abraham seminar say, "I knew I would get up here!"

"Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right." - Henry Ford

If you think the positive expectation part - the belief part - is difficult, it's not. We've been taught that our beliefs are set in stone, but that's not true. We now know that a belief is simply a thought you keep thinking. And you can choose to think thoughts that align with your desires.

To me, knowing that we can choose new beliefs is the most empowering information ever! Is it difficult? No! Does it take practice? Yes, it does!

The questions then become:

*Are you willing to feel good and take good care of your vibration?

*Are you willing to get clarity about what you truly desire and focus deliberately in that direction?

*Are you willing to practice thinking thoughts that align with your desires until they feel like a sure thing?

If you're willing to do these three things, you can easily and joyfully make the Law of Attraction work for you!

Improve Self Esteem: The Ultimate Tips

Everyone is aware of the benefits and significance of ensuring that all kids possess strong self esteem once they enter the school and also when they go out of it. Self esteem is known as the difference between being a successful one and thinking that you don't amount to something. On the other hand, when we get outside of the school, it's rare to look for cheerleaders who will be on our side. It means that you'll have to learn how to improve self esteem on your own.

Self Esteem - What Is It?

Self esteem is somewhat the way you're feeling regarding yourself and this is usually not associated with factual situations of your entire life. For instance, you can be a millionaire yet you don't have self esteem for the reason that you think you have to become a billionaire. With that, you might not be happy and satisfied with the truth that you could just run a marathon in as long as 5 hours, instead of your aim of 4 hours. People are more prone to defeat themselves in all forms of crazy and weird ways and when you failed to learn the best way on how to improve self esteem earlier, you would just be doomed to unhappiness and failure.

Assess Your Life

One of the most difficult things for most people to do while they are reaching adulthood is to assess their life. It could be painful and heartbreaking to see things that you did not do and the mistakes you've made. It's the reason why most people prefer to consult a therapist to get over such things. On the other hand, when you've neither the time nor the cash, you may prefer to do it on your own.

You just have to sit down with a sheet of paper then write down all positive things regarding yourself, regardless how tiny they are. When you're funny, when you have nice and good looking toes and when you own a clean and classic car, it is no longer important. You simply have to surround yourself with positivity to learn how to improve self esteem.

Ask Others

After that, it's time to ask other people what they think and feel regarding you. Let them know what you do - that you're attempting to learn how to improve self esteem to be better and you will love their feedback regarding those positive things that they see and notice regarding you. Let them know that there's no time to think about negative things and you will be grateful to just hear good things they can say.

Create a Script

This time, you will need to make a script which will be based on the positive elements of your life and also your personality. It would be up to you to find ones which will really make you feeling good and also, you have to keep repeating those things to yourself again and again. Through focusing on good and then leaving the negative ones behind, you'll instantly learn that the key on how to improve self esteem can be found inside you. There are 2 options every day, to be negative or positive. When you wake up with a bad mood, it would be with you all over the day, yet you could change it anytime through the use of positive affirmations.

This Article Is Where The Hard To Do Becomes The Really Easy

Life is as hard as we feel it is, and it is a funny thing, but, to quote and paraphrase Dennis The Menace from the old cartoon strip: "Why do dumb things seem so smart while you are doing them?" Dumb things seem smart, because from an awkward glance they look easier than the more intelligent path that does not try to cheat honesty. Sure, that is a simple, but loaded answer that will be explained in this article: I am not against wanting to have life easy, happy and feeling good. When you have to cheat, skip over things, and fear genuine honesty, reality and morality because it is too hard, "nasty", "bloody and realistic, that is the time for the "check up from the neck up", because reality cannot be skipped over, it has to be dealt with or come back worse later. Some will know instantly what I mean by all this, some will not and will wince at the reality of it all and file it under "I want to go back to sleep and deal with it in three hours", but, I say again with more emphasis: Life is as hard as we feel it is.

The real truth about all situations bad or good is that we cannot avoid reality and if we try, it will come back later even worse or more horrible.

The people that really live in the big fantasy world think that they can cheat reality even and put on a big show like they are the best at living in it when they are the worst at dealing with it. I think of lawmakers putting a "band aid law" on global warming and smog covering the earth, saying that it does not exist and we will deal with it in thirty years as a chief example. I think of the people who say everything is fine now and the problem is not that big now, and that business as usual now, will not have consequences ever that are bad. I think of the heroin junkie in Ohio or Idaho that loses their arm to infection and then their lives because they want to cheat unhappiness with a consistent "high". I think of how "dumb things seem so smart while you are doing them", and leaders, news media people, and professional cheaters lie to us daily while looking dynamic and pushing all the problems lazily down the road to snowball on us later and collapse everything ultimately, and leave a message like "it is not our problem, we died a long time ago when we did that stuff".

But, since I brought up the big problems, now I will bring up what I think, believe and understand are the big answers: Face reality, deal with what needs to be dealt with genuinely and live a life that faces things honestly. I can hear some of you read this and go it is too simple. But, is not honesty that simple? I mean, above, I mentioned all of the genuinely hard work equations and Rube Goldberg style cartoon justifications for dishonesty and cheating that are genuinely hard on everything ultimately.

My own story: I am not perfect or even great, I wake up and look at things too honestly and realistically to live normally in this society. I read too much, I think too much, and worst of all, I cannot lie good like most people do to maintain that unrealistic "I am perfect" thing. I just went to my psychiatrist today, and I have a therapist appointment a little while after that. My real disability in my opinion is, I am too open, realistic and I am a horrible liar to myself and everyone else. I am too honest about it all. If I could pull it all together like Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, Ben Carson, The Kennedy family, The Bush family, and the rest of their perfect and elite families, I would not only fit in, but excel, because I would be at the top of the food chain that "does not deal with it". But my people and my family, especially my Fraternal side or my Dad Joe gave me a gift, or to those elites I mentioned, I got a curse, I look at things too honestly, realistically and genuinely with a natural conscience there. Sadly, everybody wants to be dazzled by the fantasy, not deal with reality. What do you think was the secret of the success of all those 1980s evening drama shows like Dynasty and all that came after them anyway? It was and is the fantasy. Reality is "disgusting". But sell them a fantasy and "the dumb always seems smart", but in reality only reality can be reality.

The Sunny Side of Your Mind: Five Steps Towards Improving Your Mood

This is obviously a takeoff on the song, "The Sunny Side of the Street." This is the second installment on the theme of Victimhood and how and why one should resist the temptation to go there because it is so destructive to one's life. Unfortunately, I speak from personal experience. It's not that I have been a true victim in life or really considered myself one, but I must admit that I have entered in that pond from time to time in an effort to soothe my "inner child" by wallowing in self pity. Unfortunately, it never works. Thinking dark unhappy thoughts, regardless of your intent, still and always will create dark unhappy feelings and moods; it is a simple case of cause and effect. Your mood does not take sides; it just does what it is told. Thus sad thoughts create sad feelings every time. In other words, you can't win by being a victim; life just doesn't work that way and it only leads one into a vicious cycle of anger, sadness and negativity (not a good formula for a happy life.).

Please don't misunderstand my intent here, unfortunately life does create some actual victims and I am not in any way trying to minimize the suffering of these brave souls. In fact, I am saying just the opposite, there are true victims and those who just want to wear that mantle. And then there are those people of superior character and courage who are true victims but transcend it all the same.

The realization that I have finally come to after living more decades than I enjoy admitting to is that "mood conquers all." I used to think, believe and accept that a bad or dark mood was the direct result of my circumstances and until and unless this was changed, I had no choice but to suffer the consequence of my current life situation. This led me, in my younger days, to seeking out venues where I could drink and party to boost my mood or think of the "magic scheme" that would free me from my rollercoaster like emotional ride.

Then one day, when my partying days were over, I learned the truth about one's mood. That truth is that mood, for the most part, is not so much controlled by ones circumstances, which we cannot often control, but by ones thoughts, which we can.

As the song goes, "I used to walk in the shade with my blues on parade," but "Life can be so sweet on the sunny side of the street," the same holds true with your thinking. So now that we know what not to do here is my formula for a lifetime stroll down the "sunny side of your mind."

Five Steps Towards Improving Your Mood

Make it your Intention to be a Happier Person: This may sound simplistic and even a bit Pollyannaish, but it is nothing of the sort. I hereby give you permission to feel okay or even good even when things aren't going your way. Those of us who wait for everything to be just right to feel good have a long wait indeed. Believe it or not but feeling good and having a good experience can be mutually exclusive, in an overall sense. Like having a positive attitude even when things don't go your way.

Maintain Awareness: Be aware of your negative thinking and nip it in the bud

Make Your Happy List: Write down a list of the things in life that make you feel happy when you think about them, preferably things that you have actually experienced and carry positive emotions. Both see and feel these experiences in your mind.

Daily Practice: Go over your "List' in your mind on a daily basis, as many times as possible especially upon rising and before sleeping. Do this at least three times a day for the first two weeks and then as often as possible.

Going Forward: Then revert to your Happy List whenever you catch yourself feeling bad or in a dark mood.
What I have written here is not just a theory, it is a simple and practical way of feeling "Happier," which I use myself and teach to my clients with excellent results.

So give it a try, the only thing you have to lose is the blues!

Emotional State: Can Looking Good Allow Someone To Feel Good?

If one wanted to change how they feel, they could end up focusing on their appearance. There are a number of reasons as to why they would do this, and one reason is because of the society they live in.

In today's world, a lot of attention is placed on the external, and as a result of this, it can be normal for people to spend a lot of time on their appearance. This can even go one step further, and this means that it will be an obsession.

Following Others

Thus, if one was to focus on how they look, it is not going to be hard for them to find people who are doing the same thing. Along with this, they will also find that there are plenty of ways for them to change how they look.

On one hand, one could change their hairstyle or join a gym, for instance, and on the other hand, they could have some kind of cosmetic surgery. The route they take can all depend on what their current situation is.

Two Sides

However, even though one could be in a position where it might only be necessary for them to make a few minor alternations; they could believe that this is not the case. Based on this, other people could say that there is nothing wrong with how they look, but it is not going to be possible for them to accept this.

For example, one could believe that they need radically change their appearance, and this may even include having surgery. Now, while their friends could be saying they look fine to avoid upsetting them; they could be telling the truth.

A Different View

One way of looking at this would be to say that one is unable to see themselves clearly, and this then sets them to have an idea of themselves that doesn't match up with reality. And even if they were to change their appearance through having surgery, they may find that it doesn't have a lasting effect on how they feel.

Therefore, one could end up having something else done, and this whole process could go on and on. At the same time, there could be a reason for one to take this approach, and after having something done, they could feel so much better and that could be the end of it.

Thinking Things Through

What this shows is how important it is for one to take the time to think about whether it would be the right thing for them to do. And to also look into whether there is actually something wrong with their appearance as opposed to something wrong with what is taking place within them.

As if it does relate to what is taking place within them and not their appearance, they will save themselves a lot of pain by placing their attention on what is taking place within. This may cause one to experience more pain in the short-term, but it will save them a lot of pain in the long-term.

The General Approach

However, if one as to make a few minor changes, it might not be long until they start to look different. This will be the case if they were to change their hairstyle or to get a sun tan, for instance.

On the other hand, if they needed to lose weight, it is naturally going to take them a little while longer. Yet as long as they stick to a plan, the work they put in will soon pay off, and their health could also improve.

Feedback

Once their appearance changes, one may find that they start to feel different, and if they are in the process of losing weight, for instance, this will give them the motivation they need to keep going. One reason why they will feel different is because of how they look in the mirror, and if they find it easier to wear certain clothes, this will also play a part.

Another reason they will feel different is due to the responses they are receiving from other people. The positive feedback that they receive from others will end up having a big effect on their well-being.

Defined By Others

If one is unable to feel good without receiving positive feedback from others, they may find that this gives them a greater need to look good. It could also cause them become obsessed with their appearance.

Still, all the time that one is receiving positive feedback from others, they might not realise how dependent they are. They will be feeling good about themselves and that will be the only thing that matters.

A Big Impact

What this shows is what can happen when one takes care of their appearance, and so if one wanted to feel good, it will be a good idea for them to look good. Based on this, it could be said that it should be normal for people who look good to feel good about themselves.

Another way of looking at it would be to say that the people who are seen as attractive in society will be immune to feeling down or depressed, for instance. They look good and so there will be no reason for them to suffer emotionally.

A Closer Look

It could be said that this would be going a bit far, as everyone has moments in their life where they don't feel good, and this is partly because we all experience loss no matter what we look like. This is something that can't be defined; however, that doesn't mean that that's the end of it.

There are also plenty of people who don't feel good about themselves even though they look good, and if they do feel good, it could be an experience that soon passes. For example, there are plenty of models and actors who have the looks and the money, and yet they end up in rehab.

Awareness

Thus, is could be said that it would be naive for one to believe that their emotional state depends on how they look. Still, this is not to say that it doesn't have an effect and that one should neglect their appearance; what it emphasises is how important it is for one to have a balanced approach.

It will also be important for one to have a healthy relationship with their emotions, and for them to work on other areas of their life, such as their relationships. If one finds that they find it hard to feel good about themselves, no matter what they do to their appearance, it might be necessary for them to reach out for the right support.

This can be provided by a therapist and/or a support group.
