All Misfortune Is A Stepping Stone To Fortune

No matter how many setbacks you encounter in life, just consider them as part of your stepping stone to your fortune. You will realize how fulfilling it can be when you focus your mindset on the positive things that life brings instead of the problems.

People who were able to make a difference in the lives of others have legacies that last for a lifetime. They won't become what and who they were if not because of the hardships and struggles that they encountered in life. They rose from failure to failure before they succeed.

Failure can in fact be an impetus to success if we use it to our advantage. When we welcome trials as something to be learned from, we become our best version. Though it is not easy and it really stings but if we look at it in a different light, we are not wasting our valuable time because overcoming one misfortune to another will make us stronger and more determined.

Sometimes, we feel impatient for the wasted time we spent on something but oftentimes there is always better out there waiting to be discovered and explored. We can't change what happened in our lives but definitely the way we react to those circumstances impact on what will happen next in our lives.

We cannot decide the time and place of our misfortunes. These happen when we least expect them like an unexpected guest who comes to our home surprisingly. We can do nothing about it but accept and embrace it as part of life. Who knows, it might offer us a good fortune.

I believe that everything happens for a reason. Instead of whining, we better move forward and do something to turn it into a good fortune. Misfortunes can only become stepping-stones to success when we welcome them with enthusiasm and hope in our heart. When we don't complain, there is a chance for us to understand why something needs to happen. By doing so, we are able to handle our misfortune better than we expected.

When are able to grasp the lessons that misfortunes offer, it can help us become more conscious of our life. Living with awareness is a vital step to seeing misfortunes differently. When we don't blame others for our bad luck or fate; we realized that the rest will follow. Blaming others for our circumstance won't help us grow; the very reason why misfortune keeps on repeating one after another.

The disappointments that we overcome prepare us to adjust to whatever misfortune we will encounter in the future.

Go Big, Go Bold

At most we yearn for the finer things in life such as a majestic promotion at work, an exquisite car, an eccentric project but the question is what you are doing towards attaining your desires. We love to dream yet we all shy away from acting towards that dream. It requires courage to go an extra mile.

We are at most contended with taking baby steps. In fact let me put it this way, the word "Risk" on its own has a different meaning to various individuals. For some a risk is more of an opportunity to progress in life whilst for some when they hear that word it instantly triggers the flight or fight mode. We do not want to cross the border line because risks are associated with failure, double loss and simply put instinctive fear.

We are afraid of taking a risk because we know not how much more we are going to lose after having already lost so much in life but here is another question: How will we ever know what is on the other side when we never allowed ourselves to cross that line? We want to stay within a constricted zone which is limited but what fruits has it brought forth so far. Some limitations that we think we have are merely of our own doing. No one will plough the field for you if you do not set out to seek for one to delegate, no one will harvest if not appointed to.
The point l am trying to drive home is, do something, take the initiative towards seeing that dream come to life.

Go big, go bold, give it your best shot and if it fails, it fails.
After all who said you will always succeed at everything you try out. We all need those knockout blows which teach us to toughen up. I mean only then can we know that next time l need to attack from the left angle, because we took the initiative. Do not be near sighted but rather be foresighted. Success comes to those who are bold, who are willing to take up anything no matter the outcome. After all we can only measure success at times by how many times you fall and get up until you never have to fall.

Don't be afraid to jump from the peak of the mountain, it is a huge risk but fortune does favor the bold. Those that are willing to go out there and give it their all regardless of how it turns out. Dream big but most of all be bold enough to take risks that see your dream come to life.

A lot of obstacles may come our way but what we need is Courage, confidence, perseverance and belief in one's own capabilities. See yourself where you want to be and then start the climb. Even if you are bold, never lose your best accomplice which is patience. A good resolve and patience will comfort you when you reach a rough patch but boldness does not give up. It rather replaces fear with courage, facing the fear just as David from the bible faced Goliath knowing that he who was in him was greater than he who stood before him.

Live a life of no regret, knowing that not only did you try but you gave it your all. Your potential is your confidence, believe in yourself and Go big, go bold.

Have a clear picture of where you want to be, a vision, and set out towards seeing that vision come to life. Action taken differs depending on the intended goal to be reached by every individual be it evangelism, public speaking, leadership role, starting your own company you name it. It is very difficult to implement an action that a certain individual has implemented, what works for him might not work for you. It is easier to take a leap of faith when we believe, when we believe in ourselves. For when we believe, if we fall we pick ourselves up, and soldier on because we have faith in ourselves that we can, it might not be now or tomorrow but some day some time something will definitely happen.

Happiness In Action

What is happiness made up of?

This question may seem trivial, but as far as genuine happiness is concerned, it is the flawless question ever to start with. In our day-to-day life, we perfectly know that something is missing in us. We are the most miserable generation on the planet. Instead of finding out what is missing precisely, many people stare at something which is fictitious. Fictitious religions, for instance, have become refugee camps of despondent people.

I conjecture that the problem is not about happiness itself, but rather about the missing or concealed ingredients of happiness. Anytime, anywhere, one cannot be blissful because he wants to be. In the first place, what is happiness, and what is made up of? This way, if nothing else, one can unravel the constituents of happiness.

If happiness is made up of something which is visible, do we have the right eyes to see it? Happiness has been within us since the day we were born, but unfortunately we go far away in a foreign place to hunt it. Is it that we are blind or do not want to see? Imagine that you happened in a completely dark place! You do not know where you are exactly; your eyes are completely swallowed by darkness. You do not know what is surrounding you. You could be at a top of mountain, on a roof, in a jungle, valley or dark room. What would you do then to come out of this darkness? I guess you would try out all possible options to come out or start to listen your intuition. In such situation, the need to free oneself is enormous. The risk comes along with it, is also enormous. That is exactly the situation in us particularly in this decade. We deadly want to be happy, yet we do not know what happiness is.

I once asked a friend of mine: "What is happiness made up of?" His response was stunning, yet very funny. He said: "Happiness is the addition of what you have; its content is purely a tangible material.'' It seems a simple formula. Mathematically one can add or subtract, and see how much he or she is happy or sad; it may seem ridiculous, though. I have seen this formula working somehow with several people. I have come across a number of people who believe that true happiness is tantamount to money, fortune, position or family. My friend, for instance, whenever he receives money, his happiness, all of a sudden, bubbles up. Money can transform him from a rocky mood to a shining star in our marvelous galaxy. Money seems the driving force behind. This is always the case in capitalist societies.

At the highest level, the above formula manifests itself as hypocrisy. You might have heard people bragging about their success or fortune. It is pointless to show off, but when it comes to false happiness, hypocrisy is the only reliable formula. If you doubt this fact, we can demonstrate it easily. Celebrities, for instance, are the happiest people on earth; they dominate the media and everyone worships them for their fortune. Such publicity and popularity gives them a mighty impression that they are at the top of the world. Little by little, however, life brings them down to reality and in effect their happiness diminishes. Very few celebrities accept that hard truth, whereas the majority resists strongly and thus they overdose themselves with drugs. I call this false happiness in action.

False happiness is precarious or capricious; it is subjected to change soon, and entirely contingent on outside circumstances, such as people, failure, success, money, wealth or family. Sometimes the sky is clear, while at times it is foggy or hazy. That is exactly what happens in our mind when we depend on events. You may wonder what causes precarious marriages, mercurial personality, ephemeral success, transient laughter and many other personal or interpersonal problems. That is what happens when we depend too much on self or collective generated circumstances.

What about true happiness in action?

Here we go. The most vital things in life, such as happiness, love, health and compassion, are free and more real than real. They are easily available to every one of us freely, but once we lose them it is absolutely hard to restore or buy them at a market.

In the world, there are two stories: the story of the rich people and poor ones. The story of rich people is about dearth of happiness, health and love, while the story of poor people is about paucity of money. But who is richer in reality? I guess the poor people because they have the fundamental things at hand. Whatsoever, one should live practically or wisely without fear to maintain the most noble things in life. Take for instance children. Children are either practically happy or sad. You will never find them swaying between happiness and sadness. Children are honest, yet unconsciously; they are completely oblivious of that fact that they are the happiness people in the world.

When one is unconsciously happy like children, everything seems perfect; nothing is missing. On the contrary, when one is thoughtful, everything seems obscure, tough or challenging. Now I wonder if thought is the only problem of happiness. Thought is a heavy storm that can overshadow happiness. Enlightened masters believe that thought makes the mind foggy, and thus one should clean out the mind to embrace thoughtlessness. In other words, thoughtlessness is a symptom of healthy mind and robust body. It is true that when the mind is clear or transparent, we enter into a state of ecstasy. The whole world becomes a field of happiness, love and joy. You should always remember that we cannot seek happiness; we can only protect or maintain it. We were born happy with full of potential to be happier and the happiest. Now the original question changes and becomes: "What are you made up of?"

Turn Failure to Fortune

How many stories do you hear during the day of someone who failed at doing this, or they failed at doing that? Even greater than that, how many times do you hear about failure during the course of a lifetime? Some marvel over the failure of other people, and they can be adamant about a person's flaws or shortcomings.

But, what if the person who failed could reach above and beyond to something higher than a letdown? You, in your own life and endeavors, may have experienced setbacks and things that may not put you up to par. Failure is not a good feeling, and if you buy into it too long it can burden you down and push you away.

You can live above failure in your own life. Whether that failure is in business, the workplace, relationships, ideas, or what have you, you can live above failure. You as an individual can turn the failure that you encounter into fortunes. Now, when I use the word "fortune" someone may relay that word to thinking I'm talking about a lump sum of money. To me, fortune is in connection with success.

Success, I believe, is something that every individual desires to have. Success can empower you and make you feel alive inside, so to speak. It is possible to turn failure to fortune. Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Charles Darrow, and Walt Disney are just a few of the people who turned failure to fortune. Read behind them and the story that they lived through.

This relates to you too. It doesn't matter what it is that you may have experienced failure in. You can turn anything that's on the downhill slide upward and raise the bar. You have a unique way of soaring in that career, business, or whatever field it may be. Yes, you can take that failure and look it in the face and turn it into fortune.

Fortune can also be a form of empowerment. You have to be empowered to overcome failure and to see success. Success doesn't mean that you have to be some big wonder. An empowerment is an enablement to succeed. As I said before, fortune to me means success, and every person can succeed.

Fortune can be anything you attribute to success. It doesn't have to be the lottery, or some fairy tale adventure to be considered fortune. Fortune is available for you when you build up the momentum to go toe to toe with failure.
