Finding Your Strengths: Building Fulfilment (By Barbara Altman)

Your Strengths

Your strengths define your success. So many think of strengths as something they are good at. While I believe that to be true, strengths also bring high energy and vitality to your life.

There is a deeper meaning to your strengths. Listen to those activities that create energy. Engage in pursuits which build confidence, fulfillment, and purpose.

Your strengths are built on energy building activities. Your weaknesses will produce a lack of vigor.

The latest buzz for success calls for building on your strengths and networking with others whose talents match your weaknesses.

Let's look at money management, for example. I wouldn't know a number if it smacked me in the face. Of course, I would know a number! The fact is, numbers bore me to tears. I only deal with them long enough to balance my checkbook and to write in the amount after I've filled up at the gas station. I leave the more complicated stuff to Gary Fischer at Stifel Nicolaus. Some check the stock market daily for exact details. I'm just happy if it's on the plus side. Gary Fischer, I need you. You fill in the gaps for me when it comes to investments.

Weaknesses reflect those endeavors that suck the life out of you. I have to cook because I want to live. But cooking is not on my list of strengths.

Is it one of your strengths? Do you enjoy using cook books and pleasing your family with kitchen capers?

Cleaning my house is another energy draining sucker. So I leave that up to my cleaning lady. I would die an early death if I had to clean.

So what are your strengths? Do you enjoy reading? Joining a book club may be in your best interest.

Do you enjoy public speaking? Toastmaster's is just for you. There are several clubs in every city and in every country.

Do you enjoy finance? Doing a daily check of the stock market may be on your list of energy producers.

Listen to your gut. Let it tell you what your strengths are. Proceed to build your life around them. Delegate your weaknesses to others. At the very least, lessen the impact that your weaknesses have on you. Energy sapping pursuits are a part of everyday life. Don't let them dominate your existence. Let your strengths rule your life. Let your strengths propel you onward and upward.

It's All About The Battery, Equivalent To The Muscles In Our Body

Woman in White Tank Top Standing on Concrete Surface
The battery or battery pack, is the centre of every standalone renewable energy system. Everything comes and goes from the battery, and much of the safety and control equipment is designed either to protect the battery or to protect other equipment from the battery.

The battery is your vitality repository; it blends up electrons until they are expected to run something. The span of the repository decides what number of aggregate electrons you can store, however has insignificant impact on how quick electrons can be spilled in or out, at any rate in a short-term.

A littler battery will confine to what extent your framework will keep running without energizing. A greater battery will permit more days of run time without reviving. Be that as it may, there are common sense points of confinement in every heading. Batteries resemble the muscles in the body, they require some practice to remain sound, yet not very numerous or they get exhausted at an early age.

Taking an evade from the battery to the body. The muscles of the back give us our upright stance and permit adaptability and versatility of the spine. The shallow back muscles likewise act with different muscles to move the shoulders and upper arms. A shallow muscle, one of the superficial muscle, is an expansive fan molded muscle whose top edge frames the noticeable incline from neck to shoulder. It joins the skull and holds and turn the head and empowers us to prop the shoulders back.

Returning to the battery, we more often than not go for three to five days of support, which depends for a major part the value of battery stockpiling. At the point when under three days your framework will cycle the battery profoundly every day. When you begin expelling electronics from your battery, make a point to have an arrangement to supplant, or soon you will have a void store, or, as we call it frequently a dead battery!

The batteries couldn't care less where the source originates from. For whatever length of time that the voltage from the charging source is somewhat higher than the battery voltage, essentially said; the electrons will stream obviously "downhill". You can pull your battery into town to get it charged, or you associate it to a vehicle charging framework and go from that point.

Batteries are to a great degree overwhelming and love to eat your skin and garments. Make sure to secure whatever you can ensure about your skin before accidents happen. The best circumstance would have your resource at home, similar to a hydroelectric generator. For whatever length of time that approaching vitality stays aware of active vitality, your battery will stay cheerful to be topped off to around 80 to 90%.

How would we know whether our battery is full? A charge control is more often than not connected with a specific end goal to keep it from cheating. By working with battery charged devices, similar to a cordless drill for instance, yes it is not something worth being thankful for to leave the battery for ever on the charger as they can get to be overcharged and will be harmed.

A decent quality battery ought to have a cheat controller. A battery that sheds pieces of dynamic lead from the battery plate, is for the most part a reason of being overcharged on a continuous ground. The pieces that fall off are unfortunate and hazardous.

To make a long story short you can affirm yourself.

There are a great deal of similarities between a battery and our human muscles.

Recharge, don't over charge!

Cheers and Happiness!

Add Vitality to Your Life With The Love Factor

All through this life, I have been blessed with the gift of endless energy and vitality. People often comment to me in amazement, "How can you do so much? Don't you get tired?" Honestly, I sleep only 5 to 6 hours a night and always have. I'll let you in on a little secret. I call it "the love factor." I know some people would say that it is the food you eat, the quality of the sleep you get, and the genetic influences that determine your energy. I do agree that those elements play a part in the dynamics of one's energy level, but I suspect that beyond the physical realm is the "love factor." This love can be directed towards a person, pet, garden, job, sport, hobby, God, a mission or purpose or even one's true inner self. The "love factor" connects an individual to someone or something other than just oneself. When this union is made, the heart opens and emits a higher frequency of energy, which links the person to the universal life force and revitalizes their system.

On the other hand, when individuals are not connected to love, they may become depleted and depressed, feeling alone and hopeless. Their energy and vitality may get siphoned away by the stress and worry of the duties and responsibilities of life. A sense of meaningless may ensue and the body may become ill. Yet, in most cases, when these same individuals add the "love factor" into their hearts and think of someone or something they love when they are stressed or feeling alone, they will be infused with an energy from the divine to keep them going. Interviews have been done with prisoners of war who clung to the thought of their loved ones to sustain them from the harsh physical and mental suffering they were subjected to. Their love carried them through.

We all have times in life when we are presented with trying circumstances. For example, today a friend of mine called to tell me that she has cancer and is going in for surgery in just a few days. Her heart knew she needed to reach out and receive love. This is the other aspect of the love factor. Not only do we need to give love, we also need to receive it. Tracey shared with me that in the past few years her work situation had gotten quite toxic and negative. She described how she had to shield herself from the aggressive environment she was in every day at work. I could tell she was exhausted and frustrated from having to close her heart down at work. Now she expressed a desire to really live again. The cancer diagnosis pushed her to reevaluate her circumstances and choose to take time off to heal her body, mind and soul. The "love factor" is expressed in her awe at the beauty of life again. She said to me today, "I can't believe how beautiful the trees, flowers and my kitties are!" Tracey reconnected with her heart and the love of life.

Each of us has an opportunity daily to choose love over fear and to open our hearts to life. I invite you to look deep inside your heart and remember a time you felt a profound loving connection to someone or something. Breathe this love in. Let this "love factor" infuse you and elevate your energy and vitality. You will be glad you did!

How To Feel Like You're 20, No Matter How Old You Are

Agelessness is all about vitality, the creative force that gives birth to new life — the divine feminine that makes it all happen.
Blades of grass will push up through a brick patio even if there is a foot of gravel underneath the brick, because nature is always determined to push outward, upward and forward in the ongoing act of creation.
Vitality is our natural state. Taking all the right supplements and pills or getting that procedure done, isn't the prescription for anti-aging. It's ageless living that brings back a sense of vibrancy and youthfulness.
I'm all for exercise and healthy eating, but forcing yourself to go to a badly lit basement gym and work up a sweat on an elliptical machine is not going to make you ageless — especially if it's while staring at a concrete wall or a depressing 24-hour news channel, and avoiding any of the foods you really love.
Don't "battle" aging when you can dance with life and move your body joyously.
The "perfect" combination of weight training, low-impact aerobics and interval training isn't going to do it. If you have a passion for tweaking your workout routine, by all means, go ahead and do that, but don't think you have found the magic formula.
The real fountain of youth is the fountain of happiness, well-being and connection with what the writer Tosha Silver calls, "The Divine Beloved" (or God, Goddess, Source, Higher Power, the Universe, All that Is, or any other name that speaks to your heart and spirit). The anti-aging prescription is to love life, try new things and savor your experiences. Joy comes from feeling connected to the life force.
While your skin may not glow as it did when you were 20, you can glow with vitality if you see yourself as an expression of the Divine and a being through which "The Divine Beloved" operates. For you, agelessness may mean you finally find the courage to stop dyeing your hair to hide the gray, or it may mean you finally start dyeing it because it makes you feel better and you don't care what anyone thinks of your decision.
You get to decide what makes you feel ageless and how you want to express yourself. If your daughter says, "Oh, mom, you're too old to wear that," tell her, "No, I'm not!" Learn the skill of standing up to and defying the cultural editors of our joy and freedom — especially in your own family. And we have to teach our daughters to become ageless, too. They need to reject the notion that at a certain age, their value begins to decline. Those lessons start with you.
You can turn back the hands on the clock when it comes to physical health and vitality, by being open to what's new but not afraid to hold onto what's old, if it still works for you. If you feel like trying something new, try it simply because you want to, not because you're afraid of being left behind.
On one hand, listening to new bands and musical performers might help you to remain ageless, just like spending time around people 20, 30 and even 40 years younger than you, will help you stay connected to what is happening now. What you will also discover is that interests in things like art and music are in fact, completely ageless.
I know 20-year-olds who adore the music of Jimi Hendrix and Bruce Springsteen and are really into vinyl records. My tango community encompasses people from 25-to-75. Age couldn't matter less. Agelessness means you make your decisions based not on a fear of looking foolish, but on feeling comfortable in your body and being keenly interested in the world around you.

5 Keys to Making a Great First Impression

We used to think that it took seven seconds to make a first impression.
According to new research out of Princeton, it's about 100 milliseconds — the same amount of time it takes for a giant hummingbird to flap its wings.
We're all constantly practicing what psychologists call physiognomy, or reading a person's personality traits from their appearance.
"Appearance is our first filter," says Sylvia Ann Hewlett, author of new book "Executive Presence," "and it's happening all the time."
Job interviews, speaking gigs, client meetings, first dates — the list goes on.
"The really good news here is that it's about polish, grooming, and being put together," Hewlett says. "It's not about the precise shape of your body, texture of your hair, or the designer you wear."
As part of researching her book, Hewlett and her team at the Center for Talent Innovation did a survey of 4,000 professionals in the U.S., including 268 senior executives, hoping to decode what businesspeople think "capable" looks and sounds like.
The senior execs say that the following five qualities of appearance make people instantly look like leaders:
1. Looking polished and groomed.
"Carelessness seems to signal that you don't respect your coworkers or yourself," Hewlett says, "and you certainly don't respect the client if you show up with soup on your tie or bitten nails, anything to make you look unkempt."
To avoid that, clean up. If you're working in Silicon Valley, make sure you've got the appropriate skinny jeans; if you're on Wall Street, snag the perfectly cut jacket. And remember to brush your hair.
2. Being physically attractive and fit.
Attractive people tend to earn more and get hired more often than their less attractive peers. That bias gets carried over to senior professionals.
"Being physically fit gives people the confidence that you will take care of what you are asked to do, because you are taking care of yourself," GE executive Deb Elam tells Hewlett.
3. Dressing in simple, stylish clothes.
"Dress for your next job," Hewlett says.
To know how to do that, observe the people in your organization who dress well, then pattern yourself after them.
"It's not that everyone has to wear a gray suit," she says, "but this sense of polish and putting some thought into it does yield some benefits."
4. Stand tall.
The importance of height is seriously gendered. According to Hewlett's research, 6% of respondents said that being tall contributed to a woman's executive presence, while 16% said it mattered for a man's.
You can see it in the race for the Oval Office: The taller candidate has beaten the shorter candidates two-thirds of the time.
5. Looking youthful.
Looking youthful, but not like a child, signals that you have the "vitality to lead the charge and not succumb to setback," Hewlett writes. She sees the need evidenced in the cosmetic surgery market, as the number of Botox injections, facelifts, and "upper arm lift" operations continue to increase year over year.
But no matter how you're presenting yourself, you need to be aware of the audience you're about to impress.
"If you're headquartered in New York and making a presentation in Mountain View, do some adjusting to how you show up," she says, such as opting for a more California casual look.
"You want to show that you can be fluent," she says.
