5 Tips to Stay Positive During Recovery

Overall, the addiction recovery phase for drinking problems is quite a strenuous journey that demands immense will power to get back to a healthier life. It takes an individual's time and effort to stay sober and control cravings to stay away from alcohol and other addictive substances.

Moreover, one has to also overcome certain situations that tend to force a person to relapse to old drinking habits. In such, and similar other situations, it is essential to ensure that people stay strong and resolute against any obstacles that can digress them from their commitment to quit alcohol addiction.

As such, anyone trying to win the race against alcohol addiction can experience a relapse. Often, negative thinking becomes a major barrier in an individual's path toward recovery. Therefore, it is essential to ensure that the person stays away from any negative influences and remains positive while going through the recovery process.

Here are some simple ways by which a person can stay positive during the difficult phase of recovery:

  1. Stay happy: Overall, happiness is the key to success, even in the case of recovery from an alcohol addiction. This includes staying positive during the whole process. One should indulge in activities and hobbies that interest him or her. This will help the person remain joyful and stay in a better mood.
  2. Exercise regularly: Unlike the popular perception about exercise, it does not necessarily refer to undergoing activities that might exhaust a person completely. It can include a mix of things, including cycling, swimming, jogging, etc. In fact, other relaxation techniques like yoga and Zumba are also excellent ways to release endorphins, the mood-boosting neurotransmitters, in the body. Undoubtedly, physical activities by burning off excess calories and relieving stress, are an excellent way to stay happy.
  3. Communicate with loved ones: During the recovery process, effective communication with loved ones is essential to overcome emotional hurdles. Staying in touch with friends and family is important, as this will help a person in sharing his or her fears, doubts and uncertainties with his or her loved ones. It is also important to instill positivity and inspire the person to continue walking on the path of sobriety.
  4. Have patience: One should remember that sobriety can't be attained in a single day. It requires an individual to stay positive and firm on his or her decision to recover from alcohol addiction. A person should not consider the goal to be impossible and leave the path midway. Instead, he or she should stick firmly to his or her decision by enduring symptoms and undergoing the process patiently. It is important to always remember that though certain goals take time, once achieved they can change one's life completely. Therefore, appreciating even the smallest of achievements can help in staying motivated and positive.
  5. Set goals: A person under recovery should set certain attainable and realistic goals to stay motivated and inspired. It is equally important to ensure that the goals set by the person are well planned or broken into smaller achievable tasks to avoid any kind of overburden on him or her.

Quit alcohol to rediscover life

A person going through the process of recovery from an alcohol addiction should avoid going to places where it is easily available since it increases the risk of relapse. Staying happy is an excellent way to boost one's mental health and to ensure that he or she sticks to his or her goals to attain sobriety. Apart from these, it is also important to focus on self-help instead of seeking help from others to fasten the recovery process.

Taming The Monster In You

There is a monster in every man. It is only a matter of time and event before it is unleashed either by self, people or other means. It is like the negative photographic film of a beautiful picture. You will agree with me that no one wants to appear the way he/she is in the negative film - it looks ugly, evil and horrific; nobody would like to upload it as a profile picture. The negative photographic film is the direct opposite of you and so is your monster.

The angry mode of every man when activated is destructive no matter how gentle he used to be. If you don't believe me, ask some people who ended up in court, prison and hospital about the anger-provoking situation that led them there. You cannot destroy the monster because 'IT'S IN YOU' and is always there. Just like you always need the negative film to print more pictures of the same kind. You can only do one thing, 'SUPPRESS IT'. No matter how hard you are pushed, DON'T BE TEMPTED TO UNLEASH YOUR MONSTER.

The urge to drift to your negative part is a strong one. It's a tendency you need to check. You have to fight back and fight hard to overcome it. If you were shown a video of yourself in a destructive state, you won't probably like a playback. Usually, the monster in you is louder than the angel in you. When you do something wrong, it's never the work of the devil, it is the suggestion of the devil; you only choose which part of you accepts it. When you are facing the consequence of your actions, the devil will be innocent.

For instance, when you observe most of our leaders, you can tell which part of them is in charge of funds - the monstrous right? Yes, that egocentric part that always wants to amass the wealth and starve the citizens. But they were once followers like you and I, craving for equity and justice.

In the heat of a dispute, imagine you saying to a barren woman, "no wonder you never had kids" or to a dull kid, "you can never make it" or to a jobless man, "you can never succeed" or to the sick, "you'll never recover". Even when they forgive you, they will never forget such cruel words. The only good thing is - only God's words never fall to the ground, yours can, so stop wasting your saliva. Just like the CPU of a computer, humans use their brains to process words and unlike the CPU, we interpret it differently. The words spoken are indestructible and even when scores are eventually settled; the wrong words continually linger and hurt the recipients.

When a lady says, "I hate men", find out if she was a rape victim. When a guy says, "I dislike women", find out if he suffered multiple heart breaks. When a young girl says, "I will distribute this HIV to all men", find out how she contracted it. These people are acting on the basis that the monsters in them have been unleashed.

Let me paint a scenario; if someone hits you hard and you bear the pain and walk away, you may live peacefully for another 50 years or more. If you retaliate on the other hand and you both resort to a higher degree of violence which escalates into the use of weapons, you'll probably spend the next 50 years of your life in jail or be bedridden and that is if you manage to escape death. Why not let's leave the probabilities for the mathematicians to solve and move on with our lives.

If you want to be remembered by someone forever, hurt him/her enough to imprint a scar that cannot be erased. Your name will always crop up anytime the person has to narrate his ordeal throughout his/her life time. Unfortunately, you will only be remembered for something gruesome.

I could remember my childhood days when playing as kids led to the accidental knocking out of the front tooth of a friend who boasted that he wouldn't fall down no matter how hard I pushed him standing on one leg. Unfortunately for us, it was a permanent tooth and now when he smiles at me, I weep in my heart. It was an unintentional incidence that led to an irreparable loss, I am only grateful he stays miles away from me to free me from guilt.

So friends, now that you know the consequences of unleashing your monster, it is imperative for you to learn how to deliberately put it under subjection, you have to TAME THE MONSTER in you. Ask God to help you, smile always and STAY POSITIVE!

Message From the Universe: Controlling Your Thoughts = Controlling Your Future

Woman Holding Yellow Petaled Flowers

"Thinking is life's only variable.

Everything else was settled a long, long time ago.

Sittin' pretty,
The Universe"

Unlike a monthly mortgage which is a fixed cost, your thoughts will vary depending on your feelings or whatever else is happening in your life at that exact moment. If you are happy, your thoughts will be of positive nature, and the opposite is also true. Hence, the reason as to why your thoughts varies on a daily and even hourly basis. However, the thoughts that comes across your mind today are actions that will come to fruition in the near future, so the good or bad cycle continues to take effect. If your thoughts are good and exciting today, you will feel and experience things that are good and exciting in the near future, which is why it is preferable to always stay positive and happy. Easier said than done right? I agree, however, do you really have any choice? What are your options here? Continue allowing yourself to think negative and expect positive results? Seems to be to easy to be true but it is. Happiness is not complicated, as well as creating thoughts that originates from your own mind. I agree that you have NO control for others thinking, but we are talking about you now.

So what is will your next course of action? Negative or positive thoughts? Feeling depressed or happy? Life will throw you difficult challenges, that's a given, but how you react to these challenges is within your control. You can either respond to everything with emotions or just figure out the best probably solution that will allow you to brush off that challenge and move forward. Your mind can figure out all plausible solution, do not underestimate its capability. The key is to take a breather, understand the existing challenge, analyze all possible solution, choose the one that fits your needs and trust your instinct. Whatever you decided is what will work for you. Do not allow others to choose for you as you will have to deal with whatever consequences to whatever choices was given. Might as well be your own. If pointing finger to others is what you do best when things go wrong, then allow others make decisions for you and allow them to control your life. For all others, men up and live your own life. You only have ONE to live.

Stay Positive Through the Winter Blues

Woman Stretching on Ground

Short days, cloudy skies and inclement weather add to the gloom that often comes with the winter season. This mood of gloom often peaks right after the holiday season is over. The celebrations, blinking lights, parties and fireworks are over yet the days are still short and the air cold. You're feeling low and there may be a good reason for it.

Extended periods of low light and darkness have a direct effect on your hormones. Specifically, your body generates serotonin in response to exposure to daylight. In the absence of daylight, serotonin will be lower in your body. Serotonin plays a role in regulating your moods, your attitudes in general and it may also influence how hungry you feel. This can lead you to snacking, which may only sink you lower if the snacks are loaded with sugar or starch.

For many people, the feelings of sadness and depression in winter are symptoms of seasonal affective disorder, or SAD. Sleep may be disrupted by low levels of serotonin, as the body needs it to help produce melatonin which helps you to sleep. Other general symptoms include excessive napping, irritability, panic attacks and obsessing over things that seem trivial to others. Without assistance, most people find their symptoms abating when spring arrives, around April or May depending on where you live. The days are longer and warmer and serotonin levels and outside activities begin to regulate your body in a happier cycle.

Activities that help to boost your serotonin levels can go a long way to prevent SAD from affecting you during the winter. A variety of SAD lamps, or blue light lamps or sunlight lamps that emit daylight spectrum light have been shown to boost serotonin temporarily and enhance the mood. Twenty to thirty minutes a day in front of one of these lights and you should notice a difference quickly. Exercise is a great way to regulate your hormones and improve your overall health and fitness, which naturally leads to higher self-esteem and a positive outlook. Even a twenty-minute walk each day can make a big difference.

Avoid high carbohydrate sweets and starches as much as possible, including pasta, rice and bread. These foods spike your insulin levels which leads to further drowsiness and that only adds to your low feelings. Instead, choose nutrient-rich vegetables and proteins with every meal. These foods help to boost your metabolism and help to keep your hormones in balance. If you face a long gap between lunch and dinnertime, eat a few nuts such as walnuts or almonds. These nutrient powerhouses will keep you balanced and ward off the hunger pangs that tempt you in the wrong direction. Add Omega-3 oil to your diet as it also makes a direct contribution to enhancing your mood.

Go to as many open houses, social meetings and group gatherings that you can. Go walking with a friend. Connecting with other people keeps you socially engaged and outwardly focused. If you made a New Year's resolution, now is the time to put it into action. Aside from the health benefits of exercise, a regular routine or project with specific milestones is likely to lift you out of the doldrums. Celebrate every small accomplishment and before you know it, spring will arrive and you'll wonder what all the fuss was about.

Keep on the Sunny Side

There are not many things of import in this world that you are able to directly control. Quite possibly the most important aspect of your life you will ever be able to control is the orientation of your mind and your thought process. I have learned that no matter how bad a situation is, it could always be much worse. During my time in the Navy I served on board a submarine. I don't want to bore you with the technical details, but suffice it to say it was not always a party underway. I learned during that time away from my family and civilization that it was a choice to be sad or upset about being out to sea. I thought that if I can't change being under water for months at a time, I can at least change my attitude about it.

Keep in mind that I was never overjoyed to be out to sea; however, I realized that moping around and being sad about my situation was not doing me any favors. I knew that I could be underway and miserable, or I could be underway with a good attitude. After I changed my mindset and refused to indulge in any self-pity my time on the sub became exponentially better.

I have since separated from the Navy, but still maintain the same thought process. I set a baseline for each day I have to face. That baseline is if I'm not on the boat then I'm having a good day. This is something that anybody can use to help themselves. When you wake up in the morning think to yourself of places you would never want to be, and then be comforted that you are not there. This approach to life is simple, and it will not always be easy. If you suffer the loss of someone close for instance. When faced with a situation like that understand that it is OK to be sad and miss that person. What is not OK is to stay in the pit of despair forever. I will not presume to tell anybody how long they should mourn for a loss, but I will say there comes a time when you have to pick yourself up and move forward with your life.

How do I stay positive when everything seems to be so negative? Simple, take a look at your environment and change whatever you can to better it. If the news makes you depressed, then watch less of the news. Or after you watch the news and become disheartened by what you see, find something that makes you laugh. If you're feeling blue one day, then look up pictures of puppies, kittens, ocean sunrises, etc. anything that you find happy and peaceful. Do not dwell on the things that you cannot change, but rather find the things you can and then change them.
Having a positive attitude is a trait that will take a conscious effort. You will have to learn how to best process the information that can change your mood, and then teach yourself the best way to move forward with a smile. For me, I refuse to stay sad for long. I made a choice years ago that I refuse to be a product of my environment, but rather will make my environment a product of me. Just remember that you have a choice and you have the power within yourself to make every day a good day. Be excited each morning that you wake up and can face a new day and you are given challenges that you can overcome. No matter what happens, you can always find at least one positive thing.

Four Ways to Deal With Gossip

three women sitting on brown wooden bench

Here's the ugly truth. Gossiping tells more about the person gossiping, than it does about the person being talked about. Not only is it extremely hurtful to the person being spoken about, but it also shows that the person who is gossiping talks badly about other people and that they can't be trusted with personal and confidential information. People who gossip to you will also gossip about you. ~ Spanish Proverb.

So why do people do it? One reason we share things about others is to hot-wire a connection with a friend. The closeness in that friendship is built on talking bad about other people. Famous vulnerability researcher, Brene Brown, spoke about this on the Oprah Winfrey Show commenting that these types of friendships aren't true friendships because the intimacy that surrounds the relationship is built on hating the same people and this is counterfeit trust, not real trust. She instead referred to this as "common enemy intimacy".

We also find it easier to highlight other's problems to distract us from facing our own. It makes us feel better about ourselves because we get to revel in the fact that other people have problems too. This is especially gratifying when their problems are seen as more severe than our own.

Four Ways to Deal With Gossip:

1. Appreciate the difference between "helpful" and "gossip." There are times in life when it is genuinely helpful for you to know the personal background or personal details of a friend's life. But if someone begins sharing intimate details of another's life and you are in no position to help (or have no intention to help), it is not helpful speech. It is gossip. And will only lead to disaster.

2. Stop it before it starts. If your conversation begins to turn toward gossip, take the high road and end it. A simple sentence that goes like this, "I'm not sure I'm in a good position to be having this conversation," quickly shifts the focus to yourself while communicating your point to your partner.

3. Engage in meaningful conversations about the people around you. There is a 100% chance that you have not fully explored the deepest places of the heart and life sitting right in front of you. Rather than engaging in conversation about someone else, choose to ask deeper questions about the hopes, dreams, and fears of the people who are present.

4. Stay positive with your speech. Use positive words as much as possible - even when talking about another. Speaking positively about a person who is not present rarely leads to gossip and almost always leads to a closer ally. This positive speech will also encourage the people around you to do the same.

Have you given up gossip? If so, what happened as a result and how has your life changed?

What is it that makes you give in to gossip?

Have you ever been the victim of gossip? How did that affect you?

How to Write Your Own Daily Affirmations (By Rosina S Khan)

Affirmations help you in that they allow you to stay positive and retain the positivity throughout the day. When do you use affirmations? You can make your own on a daily basis. How do you do that? Read on to find out.

For instance, you wake up one morning to find out that one of your kids has fallen off from her bed and broken her hand. A day that starts like this is certainly set for cloud and gloominess. But you write an affirmation sometime in the middle of the day in your lovely journal and feel better and more focused on positivity. Here it is:

My children are always well taken care of and I pray for their highest good.

What if it is a rainy day all day long one day?

You cannot go outside in the rain to the nearest supermarket and drip in rain. So you write an affirmation as follows in your journal and feel good for the rest of the day:

Today is a rainy day. So I like to cuddle with my family indoors and spend quality time with them.

You are hard at work, having a very busy schedule. But your colleagues urge you to join a treat in a nearby restaurant. You cannot let them down. So before leaving for that treat, you quickly write down an affirmation for your good as follows:

A lot of work has to be done. Yet I manage to take time out with my colleagues. It distracts me for a while and does me a world of good.

It's a summer day. All your children are dressed in white shorts and T-shirts. You and your hubby are dressed in summer clothes as well. Before you leave for Disneyland as you planned, you quickly drop down an affirmation in your journal as follows:

Today I feel happy to be with my family all set to go to Disneyland. I feel strongly that my hubby and the children are sure to have loads of fun.

Someone close to you in the family passed away at a young age. You feel so upset and teary at the thought. In order to control yourself, you write the following affirmation:

I cease to take life for granted. Yet while I am alive on this mighty planet, I make the best of everything.

It's one of your older friend's fiftieth birthday. You want to gift her something appropriate on the occasion but you have no idea what that would be. You think of a variety of possibilities and yet you cannot settle on anything. So you write an affirmation in your journal:

Dear God, I sincerely hope I can find the proper gift for Alice's birthday which comes to good use for her as well as make her happy.

Summing up, come to think of it, writing affirmations is not that much of a challenge. Think of the situation you are in and leverage it towards a positive thought and write it down. Yes, it can be that simple and easy breezy. The more you write them down and practice on a daily basis, the better expert you become in figuring out daily affirmations.

Message From the Universe: Success Is Very Near

"In case you were wondering right now, in the unseen, all bets are on your continued inevitable success.

Insider trading is legal here.

Tallyho,
The Universe"

I should then do more insider trading if it comes to being all positive and successful. I am ready to bet that a good percentage of the population who risked their financial freedom by starting their own business and failed abandoned their dreams right before they would have reached their ultimate success. They were on the right track, did everything they were suppose to do, followed everything by the book, but yet, felt like they were running on a treadmill and never going anywhere, where in reality, they were so close to reaching their ultimate goal.

Here is the inevitable truth. You will never know when you are close to success, or failure. Signs might be apparent thought, where you feel like you are going nowhere and peddling into the unknown. On the other hand, you should stay positive and always feel like you have already reached the success you been looking for. The feeling and the belief that success already happen is the stepping stone for something great soon to happen. Imagine this. Let say you have inherited millions of dollars but it will come when attorneys are done with the paperwork. They do not give you any specific date but do guarantee the amount of the inheritance. The first thing people do besides jumping up and down is formulating a plan of what to do with this new found wealth. They decide as to where they will invest the money, how many square footage their next home should be, how many car garage it should have, what color Ferrari to purchase and are already contacting real estate agents and visiting car dealership. The feeling must be incredible. Remember, you haven't received the money yet but are acting as you already had.

You are happy, in amazing mood, your perception to things are different, life is great. Now, how about adapting this attitude and concentrate on you being the one receiving this inheritance. You are working hard on yourself, doing anything and everything to reach success so you do deserve to feel like you have already reached it, even if it's just for ONE day. Once you feel amazing because of that little mind game, you would want to feel amazing again the next day, and the next and so on and so forth. The feeling of stress or being poor is no longer an integrated element of the equation of your life because you replaced it with abundance. Take it one day at a time and let that feeling grow on you. If you do not want to visit a Ferrari dealership because they would request you for a $20 000 deposit right before you enter to make sure you are serious about buying, go online and choose your color and model. Same goes for the home, do some virtual tours and find the right dwelling for yourself and your family. Let me know how you feel when you are done with this exercise.

Message From the Universe: Do Not Make a Mountain Out of a Molehill!

"From here, of course, all earthly problems appear small - really small. That's because we know they're fleeting, they prepare you for the "best of your life," and you chose them, not wanting to obtain their rewards in any other way.

But from where you are, of course, they can look gigantic. That's because they're often seen as permanent, limiting, and imposed upon you by chance, fate, or circumstance.

Get real. See them from our perspective.

To the best of your life starting right now,

The Universe"

There are as many grains of sand in all the deserts and beaches in this planet as there are stars and galaxies. So just pick up one grain of sand, carefully look at it, analyze it for what it is, and imagine yourself INSIDE that little grain of sand, in a quantum level, as this is who we are when we compare Earth with all the rest of galaxies, planets and stars in our Universe. We feel that our problems are monumental when we face them today, but the reality is that these problems are given to us because the power from above knows you can handle it. We deal with issues daily, some small and other pretty large. We focus on looking for a solution to alleviate the gravity of that problem. Once solution is found, we move forward. Ideal situation isn't? For most, it is but others have the difficulty in understanding the letting go part and moving on. They let that issue ponder and consume the energy they have left to move forward to bigger and better things. They feel and stay trap on that issue, gravitating around it like the moon with our planet. They feel like no solution can be the best solution and keep on feeling sorry about themselves and their situation.

Learning to let go and finding A solution, and NOT the best solution is necessary for you to learn to move past that issue and focus on more productive aspect of your life. No need to worry as many more problems will arise in your lifetime but if you get into the habit of solving problems and learning to move forward, the rest of your issues will seem pretty easy to overcome. There is no unique solution for all your problems, and even if you do find one, you might come across another solution that may be better. Do not regret anything and just learn from all the lessons life is giving you. You are a smart person and you need to stay positive and on track to reach your dreams and goals. We all want to be the best we can be and strive for excellence. However, make sure to not let excellence become an obstacle. There is no such things as perfection, so learn to live with that.

Isn't being successful in life what most of us are after? I mean how to achieve success in life by living out your passions!

Being successful in life was a topic that I have updated and re-purposed, and since these keys discussed made such an interesting and informative subject I promised readers I 'd include it in today's article.

And a special head's up at the end you won't want to miss!

OMG, I just love clear sunny days! It's not just that the clear skies make me feel better, I can pop out of my house and soak up the little bit of Vitamin D that eventually soaks through the clouds

It's that buzz in the air of people being in better moods and being successful in life.

It's about everyday people trying to succeed and stay positive, and I mean this season can also come with a bit of a slump.

It's harder to get yourself to work at the pace you are used to.

I've discovered that if I shift my focus a little bit during those clearer days, I can still get a ton done, move forward projects that have been sitting around waiting for my attention all year, AND have a fun time relaxing with my friends and family.

Being successful in life is all about shifting HOW you work, WHAT you are working on, and WHO you are being during this season.

The Course in Miracles states, "The happy learner can not feel guilty about learning."

Sunny and bright days can be both about learning, productivity AND play!

Here's some great keys for being successful in life and truly achieving your dreams:

Please note that these are my favorite keys for being successful in life and why I'm suggesting them for you.

Keep in mind that just because I do recommend all 3 of these keys, doesn't mean you have to dive in head first into all 3, unless you're like me who is always wanting to move quick and learn up all I can.

If you're the type that likes to get your feet wet first before diving in, then choose just use one of the keys for now, see how it suits you, and then go for the others while on your path to being successful in life.

Remember, the Course in Miracles further teaches, "What you experience you will make manifest."

1st Key Thought: Maximizing Your Life

Ways to Live Life on Your Own Terms is a thought process that is one of my most favorites for connecting with the future of your dreams and being successful in life, that will create an energy aligned with the Universal Intellect.

You must learn to let the Law of Attraction work for you! I've seen this key thought alone absolutely change people's lives!

This thought process will help you with a mind for success, while living your "WHY", as you begin attracting wellness and wealth.

Miracles, not magic!

While I was in a down period, I forced myself to dive into the first key of thought, and within a week I found a way to launch a co-working group that I joined within minutes of seeing the opportunity.

It's been so great!

One, because they were offering a crazy good opportunity, and two, because sitting down for dedicated periods to get things done helps me move huge projects forward.

I learned to just pick a project that keeps getting put off, show up and TRUST my inner heart, and seemingly difficult things easily gets done.

It's like the Course in Miracles teaches, "When you have learned how to decide from your heart, all decisions become as right and easy as breathing."

2nd Key Thought: Miracle Mindedness

Learning to think "Miracle minded for life" (not magic) can be inspiring, powerful, uplifting and grabbing types of thoughts.

Try to learn more today about creating the life you deserve, that is detailed and filled, and life changing!

No kidding, this way for thinking will transform you.

This key set of thoughts has helped me create really powerful connections, while organizing thousands of people at a time to move through a challenge.

A better question is, who has helped me mastermind and setup these amazing automations to give my audience such a great experience? When I first decided to think "Miracle minded" I had no idea how powerful it was (and frankly no idea where I 'd be heading).

This way for thinking showed me what it could do, how to get moving forward in my dreams and bring them to reality!

There are some wonderful books and audio/videos that you can research for getting you crystal clear on your goals and a strategy to bring your vision to life!

Again, like the Course in Miracles principles teach, "Decide that your true free will is right, and is how you create in this world.".

3rd Key Thought: How to Think Like those Being Successful in Life.

Tell yourself that you want to "Have a billionaire's brain," can be a great way to begin thinking, I guess we may say?

Everyone at the top has been there, and everyone has success secrets.

Do some research and see how the most successful on the planet use "Easy to profit solutions." And learn from the "Fall" of the most successful, and how they overcame it and got back on their feet.

One book I read shows the value of mindfulness meditation and exercises to get you on a path to wealth and abundance in your life.

I must say, there's a lot of information available, all you gotta do is do the research.

4th Key Thought: Coming Soon.

You may know that challenges are the primary way many successful people build their businesses.

They want to help you grow your impact, following, and client/customer base in a way that feels great and truly supports others. They love writing about their success stories.

You can learn how to see your audience taking actions, moving forward, and experiencing positive changes in their lives.

It can be SO much fun.

Many have grown their followers and business through challenges for the past few years, and moved by leaps doing it. Many now have thousands of people taking challenges and still have managed to make it an intimate, connected, and powerful experience.

I've finally given into all the requests to help YOU make your own challenge AND harness the principles that drive great challenges, so your challenge can have the greatest impact on your audience (and your business!).

Bottom line is, keep a close eye on what's available and what you feel comfortable with, and as my articles progress I hope to be announcing some more key thoughts for you to research.

After all, it's about being successful in life, and, with lots of love!

Right?

To your success in life!

Manifestation Secrets

The power of the universe lies in your own mind

Manifestation might seem easy and natural for some but hard for many. Have you ever heard of the phrase "Baby Luck"? Yes, when you were young you may find yourself a lot luckier than you are now as an adult. It was like the universe responded more to you at a younger age than to your current age. The older we grow, the tougher life seems to be. That is natural as we have unknowingly developed negativities and ego along the way in every life experience. Those negative thoughts and ego you built up have blocked you from getting what you want. It gives you doubt in everything you plan to do, clouds your mind, and finally weakens your spirit.

Fear & Disbelief

Even for the people who seem most confident when talking or acting may hide their self-doubt, disbelief, and fear deep in their minds. Those feelings obstruct them from achieving their goals and be the best version of themselves. They become more worried about how they would feel if they fail instead of focusing on achieving their goals. And the universe responds to that fear and manifest it accordingly.

Ego & Arrogance

On the other hand, being arrogant and possess too big an ego would not help with successful manifestation either. People with big ego see nothing more than themselves. They miss all the needed details required for a successful manifestation. Manifesting what you desire requires sensory details. You need to visualize it, feel it, hear it. The clearer the image of what you desire, the faster it would manifest itself to you.

Insight meditation to increase awareness

Practicing your awareness can help you realize negativities before letting it consume you. We may find we screw things up for ourselves just because we let temper take the better of us. When angry, we can not think clearly and tend to say things we would regret later. Even when we don't say anything, negativities arising in our mind emit negative energy to the universe. That energy will attract the same back to us. That explains why we mostly have an unpleasant day when we start our day in a bad mood. Insight meditation helps us aware of any feeling that comes to mind. We can observe it without judging or labelling. No like or dislike. When we put no fuel, no emotion to it, we will see a strong feeling finally die down or dissolve itself after a while. That would leave your mind with the positive thought or at least the neutral feeling.

Stay positive!

All it takes for you to get what you want out of life is to learn to communicate with the universe, with your inner self, with you subconscious mind. Always stay pleasant and you will emit positive vibe around you that would send a signal to the universe and attract more good things into your life, like a magnet. You need to be crystal clear about what you want, able to visualize it, feel it, and commit to it to let the universe know that is what you want. You then vibrate the right energy to the universe, and the law of attraction will work the magic for you.

8 Tips For Personal Growth

Do you want to enjoy a better life? If so, you have to change by facing opposition. However, this change should not be a hurdle for you. What it should do is sharpen your vision and make you stronger. Given below are 8 tips that can help you with your personal growth.

Face your difficulties

First of all, you need to build your courage to face the difficulties. Remember: it's not easy but it's doable. At times, the only thing that holds us back is our own opposition.

Get selective

You may not want to share your news with everyone. Not everyone will share your fears and hopes. At some point in life, you may feel nourished, annoyed or depleted. You have to accept it and then move on. Things change.

Make life easier for others

You should not take anything personally. Actually, when you make your mind to change, people around you will also change both emotionally and mentally. This may not be fun. At times, it just can't happen. After all, people have their own timetables, agendas and limitations. So, accept these things about others and move on.

Hold your ground

Once you have decided on doing something, stick to your plan. Don't worry about what others say. It's you who should worry about your life, not others. In other words, you may not let your worries consume you. All you have to do is what you have to do. That is it.

Stay positive

You may want to stay positive no matter what. It's a good idea to surround yourself with positive people, positive music, positive words and positive thoughts. On the other hand, don't let negative people shake your decisions.

Talk to like-minded people

For instance, if you are going to launch a business, you should look for people who took similar risks and got success. You should keep in mind that there are a lot of courageous people out there who can share their stories with you.

Leave some relationships

With the passage of time, some relationships disappear or diminish and others grow stronger. Therefore, you should meet new people and make friends with ones who can help you grow. In the beginning, it may be hard for you, but you will be able to do it with the passage of time.

Change will benefit you

You should bear in mind that change will benefit everyone. If you look at your family, you will understand this point. As a matter of fact, even if you look at your own life, you will realize that change has benefitted you as well. So, if you keep this point in mind, you will be able to achieve a lot of success down the road because your personal growth will be at peak.

For personal growth, you need constant courage. Just keep in mind that the effort is worth the results. This will help you deal with your difficulties. It won't be harder for you to face the fierce opposition.

How to Get Back on Track After an Unproductive Day

Strategize

After an unproductive slump, your tasks and things on your to-do list probably have new time constraints on them. That blog post due in two days' time you were supposed to have done by 12pm? It's 3pm now, but you've got a conference call in 15 minutes. After that, there's a mandatory staff meeting. After that, you're supposed to be reviewing a project with a colleague.

First thing's first - make a new plan.

Reassess the tasks you need to complete and figure out which are the most important (and urgent) on that list. Take time to figure out what your priorities are, which can be delegated, and what can be left for another day. Then start making your way through them in their new order.
Start easy...

When you're strategizing to catch up on the work you missed, consider where you want to start. Lots of people find starting small helps them to get back in the swing of things - it's called structured procrastination. Getting started is often the hardest part, so crossing something easy off your list gives you the momentum to tackle your bigger to-do's.
... or go hard

Alternatively, you might want to jump in at the deep end and start with your most difficult or time-consuming task. Ever heard of the book "Eat that frog"? It's based on a quote by Mark Twain:

If you eat a frog first thing in the morning that will probably be the worst thing you do all day.

- Mark Twain

The idea behind is to complete your worst task first. Get it out of the way so it isn't sat on your desk, filling you with dread. Once the worst is over, the rest of your to-do list won't seem so bad.

Whichever way you decide to start is entirely up to you, as long as you actually start.

Try out some productivity techniques

Once you've got a plan in place, it's time to get to work. To avoid another unproductive set-back and to stay focused, try some proven productivity techniques.

Whether you try the Pomodoro Technique and do some time-blocking, use smart tools to minimise distractions, or simply set a timer for 5 minutes and see how far you get, finding the right method for you can make a huge difference to your work.
Figure out why

Finally, it's important to try and figure out the reason behind your temporary lapse so you can stop it from happening again.

Maybe you've taken on too many commitments and are feeling burnt-out. Or maybe you're getting distracted by other things like emails or Facebook notifications. Whatever the reason, identifying and knowing which steps to take to avoid it will help you to stop it from happening again in the future.

Depending on how long your unproductive slump was, it might take a day or two to get back on track. Most importantly, remember that everyone has off-days and, provided they're infrequent, they're nothing to feel guilty about. Take a deep breath, refocus and stay positive.

What Causes Frustrations

Frustrations are significant because these imply that you are being held back by self-imposed barriers, limitations and habits. You are the reason why you're feeling frustrated. Your frustration can immensely hinder your progress, which can result in bleak thinking and low morale and can eventually lead to indecisiveness.

Your current frustration can also overwhelm emotions, stress, and depression. You might even find that it can lead to impatience and causes you to become more reactive and angry. Learning to manage your frustrations could lead to a whole new world of promise.

Externally, your frustrations will manifest in some form of resistance. For instance you might have been making some good progress up to this point, but then suddenly something went wrong which thwarted your efforts. Even if you know that you can overcome this hurdle, you can't control the situation that causes your grievance for not meeting your expectations resulting to frustration.

Internally, your frustrations respond to perceived inadequacies, weaknesses and limitations. For example, feeling somewhat incapable handling a problem because you feel weak or inadequate in some way. You need to defeat your weaknesses and turn them into strengths. Frustration can be a fast motivator especially when something didn't quite work as expected. It can automatically hinder your progress.

In handling this ill-feeling, it's necessary to stay positive. Don't be sorry. It will prevent you from seeing things clearly. Instead of feeling sorry for yourself, find ways on how you can successfully control your emotions. Discipline, persistence and determination are needed to get a positive result. Don't get disheartened or think about quitting; rather encourage yourself to think more creatively out of your shell. If you respond accordingly, you can immediately find alternatives. But if you are eaten with frustration then you will fail to make the right choices and decisions that will help you to get through this situation successfully.

Oftentimes you become frustrated because you continue to see things as you've always seen things. The moment frustration hits, you must immediately view the situation from a different perspective. It's actually never helpful to attach yourself emotionally to the situation.

In my experience, frustration can at times be very overwhelming and lead to high levels of stress. This circumstance make me lose my grit. Sometimes I feel I might lose my sanity because of helplessness.

So, to avoid feeling hopeless, find ways to relax. Relaxation helps you clear your mind and move through your stumbling blocks successfully.

There were times in our lives that we feel helpless and hopeless. Let's not be sorry because once we are eaten with our frustrations, we cannot see things in a different light.

Let's Find Out How to Survive Stress

Let's face it; whether you're a busy homemaker or a high flying executive, today's popular mind-set is to be as busy as possible with nearly every hour and minute crammed with some kind of work. Yet the day-to-day pressure can build into chronic stress, which if ignored, can be detrimental to our mind, body, and spirit.

The Body

While most of us have stress in some form, an unhealthy response to stress happens when the demands of the stressor exceed an individual's coping ability. While stress is actually a psychological state of mind, as it considerably affects our physiological state. "In a classical stressful situation, certain stress hormones such as cortisol are released which increases the heartbeat, sweating, uneasiness, and the urge to urinate," with the initial indicator usually manifesting as an inability to sleep. In the long run this leads to problems such as indigestion, acidity, ulcers, low-back pains, high-blood pressure, heart attack, stroke, high cholesterol, depression, headaches, and fatigue, to name a few. Long-term stress also affects our immunity and reduces our disease-fighting capacity.

In Teens

While the teenage years can be highly stressful, some typical stressors include: stress from school, social anxiety, and depressive feelings - for example, not belonging, self-harm and other dysfunctional coping strategies. Another big one, particularly pertinent to today, is social media inappropriateness. While teens and adults overlap in how they cope with stress, the only difference is that adults express stress verbally while teens tend to isolate themselves during times of high stress. "This is because teenagers are unable to properly manage their stress due to a lack of healthy coping skills,".

Negative Implications

If the stress is not caught and addressed in time, teenagers may utilize reckless and destructive behaviors, substance abuse, and physical violence as unhealthy coping skills. Teenagers' academic and extra-curricular progress may also deteriorate if stress is not handled appropriately.

Getting a Grip on Teen Stress

Maintaining effective communication with your teen and adopting healthy coping skills are the two most effective ways to manage with stress.

1. Be available - make some time no matter how busy the schedule is - structure opportunities into daily life. Spending time with your teen shows them that you care even though they are pushing you away.

2. Be realistic and flexible in your expectations but praise effort more than just results.

3. Be patient and consistent during their developmental phase - they are changeable and trying to make sense of their place in the world - they can defy reason and sense sometimes.

4. Do not minimize their feelings in hopes of them "getting over it". Their feelings are real and affecting them in ways that need to be addressed.

5. Be practical and constructive in your approach - they may need your wisdom and organization - even if they say they don't.
You cannot and should not shield them from all stresses and risks. You must set limits as well as consequences to what is acceptable and unacceptable at home, school, and elsewhere.

THE MIND

Stress Reactions

When stress is excessive, it results in one of four reactions- -anxiety, apathy and depression, anger and aggression and cognitive impairment. "Stress can be caused by traumatic events, events which challenge our limits, as well as internal conflicts,". "For example, if your boss criticizes you unfairly, you feel the stress." You want to be able to explain why he/she is wrong but also have a fear of upsetting your boss and this stress or internal conflict causes you to ruminate and these thoughts can very quickly spiral out of control: My boss thinks I'm incompetent; I won't get the promotion I deserve. This series of ruminations results in catastrophic thinking, which can lead to worry, anxiety, feeling depressed and insomnia.

Top Ways to Alleviate Stress

Talk about what is stressing you to someone who listens to you, understands the stress environment and cares about you.

Ruminations create a "pressure-cooker effect". They bounce around creating pressure. Releasing this through talking really helps.

Most relationships in life are reciprocal. It's really important to establish good social networks so that people may be there for us in our hour of need.

It is very important to remove the source of the stress, if possible, by taking control and being active. For example, rather than being a victim of bullying in the workplace, you may choose to either put in a complaint or move post.

Distraction is a useful technique to avoid stress. Taking up a new challenge or a new activity is often very helpful.

MODERN DAY

Electronic Stress

Smart phones, gadgets, and computers all help us stay super connected but at a high price. "Smartphones add hugely to modern day stresses in that the workplace and social media permeate our lives so that we are never really free,". "We are working or socializing 24-hours a day, checking our phones last thing at night and first thing in the morning when research shows that each time we receive an email, we can take up to 20 minutes on average to re-focus on children, partners or other focuses.

Planning

The best way to deal with smartphones is to switch them off when at home; however, this is impractical for some. "The alternative is to have windows of when you check your messages, for example 9 to 9:30pm, and to put it away for the rest of the time," and be sure to avoid using your smartphone one hour before you sleep.

Finding Solutions

Today the aim is on maximizing the usefulness of our time and squeezing as much as we can from every minute of the day. So how can a person find time in the day to destress? We need to learn to tackle the external pressures and even our own inner voices that tell us that to be successful, he says as these are old mind-sets that we have learnt over the years that are no longer relevant. "We must replace these thoughts with new one's that support us in the true value of taking time to de-stress the right way,".

Shelve Your Stress with These Tips

1. Practice Regular Exercise - Exercise impacts a neurotransmitter that works like an antidepressant on your brain while lessening muscle tension.

2. Go Outside - Even five minutes in nature can help reduce stress and boost your mood.

3. Focus on Your Breathing - Ideally you should be breathing primarily through your nose through a simple technique called Buteyko breathing to help you restore beneficial breathing patterns.

4. Participate in Activities - You Enjoy Engaging in a hobby helps you enjoy yourself and take your mind off of stress.

5. Eat Healthy - Schedule time to eat without rushing and be sure to consume fresh, healthy, whole foods.

6. Stay Positive - Keep a list of all that you're grateful for and make a commitment to stop any negative self-talk.

7. Stay Connected - Loneliness can be a major source of stress, so do some volunteering, meet up with friends or take a class to meet others.

8. Take a Break or Meditate - Taking even 10 minutes to sit quietly and shut out the chaos around you can trigger your relaxation response.

The Positive Side of Stress

Is stress something that needs to be reduced, suppressed or avoided? Or can we accept it, use it, and embrace it? It turns out that which one of these mind-sets you hold plays a key role in how the stress in your life affects you.

Mindset

It's not our stress levels that need to change, but our attitude to stress itself, reveals Menon, because how you think about stress and the stress in your life plays a profound role on how it affects your well-being. She explains, "It determines whether the presence of stress in your life is harmful, which can ultimately lead to burnout, depression, and heart disease or whether that stress actually leads to greater well-being and resilience."

The Science

Research shows that when you tell people about the importance of stress mindsets, you encourage them to choose a more accepting and embracing attitude toward the stress in their own lives, suggests Menon and in turn, they actually become healthier, happier, and more productive at work, even in very difficult and stressful circumstances. According to research at Yale University, people who hold more a negative perception of stress and believe it should be reduced or avoided, are more likely to experience what we typically think of as the negative outcomes of stress. They're more likely to have health problems or illnesses, suggests Menon and they're more likely to become depressed and, are less productive at work. "But on the other side, people who hold a more positive and accepting view of stress are protected from the negative effects of

stress, even when their lives are stressful," she tells, and they're healthier and happier. They're doing better at work and they're better able to find meaning in their struggles.

The Question

Therefore, can changing how you think about stress make you healthier? Menon points out that the science says 'yes' - when you change your mind about stress, you can change your body's response to stress. "Research shows that stress is actually enhancing; in one study at University of Wisconsin researchers tracked 30,000 American adults for eight years," she explains, and they found that subjects with a lot of stress had a 43 percent increased risk of dying - but only if they believed stress was harmful. What is surprising is those who experienced a lot of stress but did not view stress as harmful were no more likely to die than the normal population. In fact, Menon reiterates that they had the lowest risk of dying of anyone in the study, including people who had relatively little stress.

The Big Picture

Although stressful experiences are an important part of life, how you think and how you act can transform your experience of stress, Menon says. "When you choose to view your stress response as helpful, you can create the biology of courage and resilience," she explains. "Stressful experiences help us learn and grow and they can actually be an opportunity to develop our strengths and choose our priorities."

Four Ways to Deal With Gossip

Image result for gossip

Love,
