Do You Believe In You? 7 Actions to Ensure Your Ultimate Growth!

I am not sure if you have asked yourself this question in a reflective way; or given it any deep or meaningful thought, but it is a question with a significant amount of depth and worth!

You may approach this question very lightly or feel that it is a very limited concept, only applying to a narrow part of who you are, but your belief in yourself (whether good or bad) permeates every interaction you have, your thoughts, the actions you take and the decision made consciously or subconsciously... fundamentally this question and how you respond to it has a bearing on your entire existence!

Believe In Your Ultimate Potential

You are a phenomenal creation who has been endowed with a brilliant set of skills, capabilities and gifts, which, when given a proper focus, a specific intent and the correct outlet; can be expressed with great significance and have an immense impact on the lives of those around you as well as your society as a whole!

This may perceive to be a rather grand statement and one of inflated promise... but it is true!

You have phenomenal potential within you! A potential that can change lives and your environment for good!

Remove Your Biggest Source of Doubt!

You hold yourself back by adopting a mindset that intrenches itself into a comfort zone. This reinforces some ideas and perceptions that, on face value have their sources in well-meaning character-based principles; however, this is limiting your potential and the ULTIMATE PURPOSE you were created for.

Do not let your defence of the good around you stop you from achieving the great that is on offer!

Some ways this limiting mindset becomes apparent:

You defend your current position or situation. You may not like what you do or how you are living... but you defend it! Your defence manifests in your constant rationalizations of NOT going for your goals or it focuses on the responsibility of now as opposed to the greater responsibility of growth. You defend your results by thinking that this is as good as it is going to get!

You continuously convince yourself that "the successful ones are the lucky ones" and that "you're just unlucky". Well to be frank we all make our own luck... good or bad!

You do not feel that you are able to carry more responsibility than you currently are. You feel that you may get "burnt out" or that more responsibility is only ever a burden. The truth lies in that the more we give, the more we get... we are created to serve and give and do... often way more than we think we are capable of!

You often feel that you do not deserve to partake in the abundance that is around you! You may think and feel that you are not capable of doing what others are able to do.

The alibi that you may reinforce... more abundance more problems! The problems abundance brings are lot better and easier to manage than the problems that poverty, lack or limitation bring.

You have to be thankful for what you got... and that's that! Be thankful, accept and do not ask for more... as though asking will lead to some sort of punishment. Never mistake dissatisfaction with felling ungrateful. We can be thankful and dissatisfied at the same time. A feeling of dissatisfaction is a sign of your inherent desires wanting greater and more effective expression!

Often the religious person may use the "God Willing" alibi as an excuse for a lifetime of weak or non-existent action! For the faithful an expression of increasing faith is one where we demonstrate an increasing belief in ourselves by taking bigger action and making greater sacrifices.

All the above are endemic of the mental cancer that is Doubt or Unbelief!

Begin to change you mindset to eradicate this cancer!

The Best Lies Within...

The best part of a changed mindset is that you are open to the changed perspective that a new awareness brings, along with the belief that new understanding fosters with respect to how you believe in yourself!

Some fundamentals you need to understand:

We have all been created equally and endowed, in equal abundance, with gifts and talents to contribute in increasing measure, to the upliftment and success of everyone we are connected to but more importantly ourselves.

There is an equal amount of time given for all... how we choose to use it is what makes a difference in the results between people.

Adversity is an Opportunity... No one is sheltered from adversity! Your adversity may appear more intense or impossible to overcome but your adversity is unique to you. This is to ensure that the specific development of your unique and wonderful skill and gift along with its intended outcome is realised!

Change is not only possible but necessary.

The brilliant benefit of ever increasing self-belief is that you are able to adapt to circumstances more rapidly, you recognise opportunity to serve and contribute in every interaction. You recognise that you are the best gift you can give when you make the most of yourself to give the best of yourself; all of this is capped off by the mental freedom that comes from knowing that there is no person, opinion, circumstance or situation that will ever hold you back again!

7 Actions to Ensure Your Ultimate Growth!

  1. Decide: do not focus on what you believe is possible based on your current results or status... make a decision for what you really want!
  2. Think in detail: highlight and get very specific about the characteristics, detail and definition of your goal and the freedom this will bring. Think like this constantly as though it is guaranteed!
  3. Take Action: starting with small manageable milestones, begin to implement a changed lifestyle, new discipline and improved routines. Progress to bigger accomplishments and gains as your confidence and your belief increase and become resolute!
  4. Model your behaviours: align your behaviours... the good ones, after a person that has accomplished what you want to accomplish or has attained
  5. Study: we do not know what we do not know... that is why you need to study more about yourself, what makes you... you, the success principles that surround you and also the strategies you can adopt to bring about significant change. Sound knowledge leads to a steadfast belief!
  6. Gratitude: continuously focus on finding a way for your gratitude to increase. Gratitude is a wonderful skill to develop as this connects you intimately with your source of supply!
  7. Persist: the most fundamental way to develop belief is by focusing your efforts and energy into a specific outcome then continuing until this specific outcome has been achieved! Its not over until you Win!

At invinciblemind, we believe in the unlimited potential of the mind and are striving to share the life-changing effects of a renewed mind!

Learn how to Unleash Your Ultimate Potential with invinciblemind... Your future self will thank you for the immense decision!

The Hardest Question to Ask - What If I Had Nothing to Be Thankful For? (By Virginia Adams)

As I sat making a mental list of gratitude containing all that I have to be Thankful for this year, I dared to peer down a different side of that mental list. For me the most frightening question to consider is what could be taken away from me before I lose faith in my divine connection to my higher source? A tad bit "Jobish" I know!

Do you dare to ask yourself, when it is all said and done what ties you to this life or your current reality? What is sooooo connected to you that it may blind your Holy Vision, muffle your Divine Hearing, and taint your Perfect Knowing. There is always someone or something that you feel as if you could not continue on without. What if tomorrow it was all taken away? Would your holiness be diminished, would your connection to the divine be cut, would you be less than who you are right now in this moment? Or would the loss of everything that has you tightly anchored in this reality actually free you?

Rock bottom for an addict is actually the catalyst for discovering that when all else is torn away the one perfect Knowing is that your higher power has got your back. It is by turning it ALL over and discovering that we are powerless without a divine connection or divine oneness that the soul sicknesses begin to heal.

Some people choose to embrace rock bottom, they take it on as a cloak of religious vows in the hopes of progressing their spiritual connectedness to their higher power. Vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience.

Nothing truly can prepare us, or can give us a glimpse of how we would respond if it "all" was taken away. I'm not just speaking of today or the future you. What if your past was taken away? What if everything that you held to be true and dear to your heart regarding the memories of your past was altered, changed and/or made into a nightmare. I know you are thinking how in the world can the past change? Your past is just your minds record of how things, relationships, events, etc. played out. What happens to a person who discovers they have repressed memories that change EVERYTHING they thought they knew to be true. What then?

Then there are the people who are being challenged right now with devastating illness, loss of a loved one, of their jobs, their homes. The pain of this world, this illusion can at times be crushing. Ah thinking and feeling about all of the possibilities hurts my heart. I even had to re-read The Book of Job. Poor Job! What a mournfully sad human story. But a beautiful story of the steadfastness of blind faith. Job knew that the one and only thing that mattered was his divine connection to his creator.

The question I ask myself today is Who Am I if all is swept away? The only thing that I know cannot be changed, altered and/or diminished in any way is my connectedness to my source. I can cover it with a multitude of veils; I can pretend that it does not exist even to the point of forgetting. But when it is all stripped away, when we are at the bottom of the pit, when darkness has swallowed us whole there will always be the Knowing that my God has me in palm of his hands.

In the end, when we are ending this life, the ONLY thing we have, the ONLY thing that will matter is that connection to divine Love. This takes me to the last scene in one of my favorite movies, "The Never Ending Story". Here is the dialogue.

Bastian: Why is it so dark?

Empress Moonchild: In the beginning, it is always dark.

Bastian: What is that?

Empress Moonchild: One grain of sand. It is all that remains of my vast empire.

Bastian: Fantasia has totally disappeared?

Empress Moonchild: Yes.

Bastian: Then everything has been in vain.

Empress Moonchild: No, it hasn't. Fantasia can arise in you. In your dreams and wishes Bastian.

Bastian: How?

Empress Moonchild: Open your hand.

Empress Moonchild: What are you going to wish for?

Bastian: I don't know.

Empress Moonchild: Then there will be no Fantasia any more.

Bastian: How many wishes do I get?

Empress Moonchild: As many as you want. And the more wishes you make, the more magnificent Fantasia will become.

Bastian: Really?

Empress Moonchild: Try it

6 Helpful Ways to Refresh an Overwhelming Day

It's always hard to be in a situation where you are burdened by many things and you can't accomplish anything. For this case, you have to restart the button, recover from being overwhelmed and return to your tasks. To help you refresh yourself, here's what you can do:

1. Give yourself a break to ease the stress

You have to remind yourself that there's a big world out there. It's important to get away from your troubles and physically set a distance from them. So, what about read a fascinating book that is totally different from what you're doing or find time to see a movie.

2. Stretch once in a while, get some exercise

Same concept matters here, but now with physical involvement of yourself. You may work out in the gym, take a long run or enjoy swimming. It's good to do this exercise in the middle of the day to separate the stressful morning from the rest of the day.

However, we can't just do this every day or getting into a gym for example is practically possible. Nevertheless, make sure that you move and stretch one in a while. Take some decision to walk in a city or when you are going home from work.

3. Breathe deeply

This step is much shorter and practical. Have time to take a full 120 seconds to inhale and exhale very deeply. Repeat it for 6 or 7 breaths per minute. After doing this, everything will be a little bit clear and better.

4. Be thankful always

Believe me or not, you got many things to be thankful for. You are alive living in a good place or in a city or in a country. Your life is so comfortable with the use of modern devices that entertain you, inform you of many important and interesting things and other things brought by modern life and you can enjoy them for free. Most of all, you have people whom you love and people who loves you, though you don't realize it yet. No matter how tough life is, but so are you. Just take some moment to reflect and rest.

5. Take time to pray or meditate

Well, you need a place to meditate to think and reflect with your life. Find a good place such as a church or a temple or any place to get some connection to a higher being and pray for a good life.

6. Call a friend

Do you have a friend from college or s childhood best friend that you haven't talked for a long time? Maybe it's a good time to get the chance to talk with someone who you are close with. Have a great conversation with someone who's not part of your present drama.

The Importance of Rest and Recovery (By Daniel Brennan)

"Rest and be thankful" - William Wordsworth

Today we would like to talk about the yin and yang of life. Learning how to rest and recover so you can be productive with much more intensely when you have to be.

Over the past few weeks, I have been traveling, playing golf up and down the East coast of America. Long drives of up to 20 hours, little rest or time to myself and below average nutrition led to an almighty collapse of my immune system during the trip. After about 7 days of the 10-day trip, I began feeling ill and just over a week later and many days stuck in bed/on the couch, I'm finally beginning to feel like myself again. So apart from losing a week in my life, what could I possibly learn from this latest crash of mine?

Well, let's begin to explore where this might have come from. In my opinion, a lot of my problems would've stemmed from weeks/months of going 60-80% all of the time. What do I mean by this? Well during Conor McGregor's preparation for the Nate Diaz rematch, he realized that his preparation for the first fight couldn't have been worse. He rocked into the gym at whatever time, stayed there all day doing bits and pieces of everything and there was no specific structure to his days or his life. Was he working hard? Yes, of course. But he was working hard in the wrong ways. As he explained himself, there were no definitive start or end times to his training sessions nor was there any specific training set for him to do. Therefore he got to the gym and kind of went at 60% for a long period of time which took a massive toll on his body and his ability to endure a 5 round fight. During his preparation for his rematch, however, he did everything he needed to do to prepare him for a 25-minute war inside the octagon. He began each session and ended each session at a particular time and he had a full rest day every 3-5 days and this was the key. He would go 100% during his training sessions in anticipation for his rest day, which he felt he had earned. And when you feel like you've earned a day off, you no longer feel guilty when you take a day off which we all fall victim to. Once a week, he would do a simulation of the actual fight day, in which he would do everything identical to what he would do on the day of the fight. He would get up at the same time, eat the same meals, go to the gym at the time he would go to the arena and then spar a 5 round war with a training partner. Everything was specific and down to a tee.

So what relevance does this have to my life? As I said, I went at 60-80% all day for many weeks in a row and although there were days off in between, there weren't real days off because the guilt would wear me down just as much as a hard training/practice session if not more. This then leads to a lack of motivation and the feeling of being worn out, but all the while, you know you've just had a day off and practice must begin again tomorrow. In turn, between the mental warfare, the long and not so productive days on top of probably a lack of sleep and quality rest, your immune system takes a hit like no other and you become constrained to your bed for a week.

If you were to look at your life as a heart and your days as the heartbeat, you might notice something. What I noticed is that the heart doesn't work at 10,20,30 or 80% all the time. What the heart does is works at 100% for a pulse, and then it rests, and then repeats until one day it stops for good. That can equate to your creative life in the same way. If you can find a way to do work, in short, productive pulses, you'll not only get more done but you'll feel fresher for longer. Keep reading for tips on how to do so.

Intense Focus

In order to enhance your creative life and those creative bursts in your life, you need to cultivate intense focus. Josh Waitzkin talks on the Tim Ferriss Podcast about being able to turn focus on and off so intensely that Marcello Garcia, one of the greatest grapplers of all time was asleep in the minutes before his biggest ever fight. He says he could wake up and just turn it on and that using intense interval training can help you accomplish that.

Interval training can help you cultivate the idea of turning it on and off very intensely. Your only focus in the 45 seconds between sets is to get your breath back and get your heart rate back down as low as you can before going again. Apart from the obvious benefits on the mind that exercise has, interval training, if done correctly can help you immensely in turning your focus on and off. Kind of like the way Conor McGregor changed his training approach but on a micro level. Beginning with interval training or intense focus periods followed by release periods can help you on the road to mastering your creative life.

Switching Off

Royalty-Free photo: Social Media icons on phone | PickPik

Another big concern of mine that I noticed about myself this weekend was the inability to switch off. Obviously being sick, I wasn't in much of a state to go anywhere or do anything and it came at the perfect time, to be honest, because the Ryder Cup was on. I sat all day Friday to Sunday watching it but during that time I noticed something. Although I was lying on the couch 'relaxing', I was never really relaxed. Every advert that came on, I grabbed my phone to check social media. The repetition of absolute nothingness that social media is, makes us somewhat brain dead and it controls our thinking without us realizing. The next time you decide to rest and recover and perhaps you do want to watch some TV, I urge you to actually just watch TV and leave your phone somewhere else because when your phone is by your side, you're always on edge and always in between the TV and your phone - the exact opposite of what you need for your creative life.

Caging the monkey mind and giving yourself the freedom to focus on one thing at a time can help the longevity of your focus and energy immensely. The reason is, that when you spread yourself too thin, you wind up in a hole because (a) you don't get as much done and (b) you find yourself in between two minds and neither of which serve you as best as they can.

If you are going to switch off or take time off during the week, that's absolutely fine and necessary in fact, but if you're going to do it, I urge you to do it fully because, ½ switching off means ½ switching on and this isn't what you want in your creative life. Always keep in mind that how you do something is how you do everything.

Creating Your Ideal Day

The power of creating routines and good habits is at the core of this productivity dilemma. The reason being is that if you can create routines that allow you to do 'productive' things virtually on auto-pilot then they will simply be how you live and not another thing on your to-do list. I encourage you to sit down for an hour and create 2 things - the perfect work day and the perfect day off (rest day). What would these look like? How would your day go? What would you do? What time would you wake up/go to bed? What would you eat? Would you workout or watch TV all day? Would you read? Spend time with friends and family? By creating the perfect day, you will soon see that this isn't only possible, but very plausible provided you don't fill it with activities from the sun up to sun down. Once you understand and know the habits you'd like to create, it is as simple as putting them in place and constantly reminding yourself why you're doing it in the first place because motivation is like bathing, it doesn't last.

  • Create short bulleted lists of the things you want to do on both work days and rest days.
  • Put your day up for a brutally honest review.
  • Allow yourself time off each day or a full day off every 3-5 days.
  • Reading is my #1 recommendation for switching off (especially fiction).
  • Short bursts of creative work are best.
  • Work hard in anticipation for a day off. You'll appreciate it more and you'll work harder when you work.

Remember, you don't appreciate something until it's gone. Likewise, you don't fully appreciate a day off unless you've worked hard and smart in the days leading up to it so be sure to work hard and smart and don't feel guilty for having a day off. You deserve it.

Message From the Universe: When Your Success Is Inevitable

"When in doubt, show up early. Think less. Feel more. Ask once. Give thanks. Expect the best. Appreciate everything. Never give up. Make it fun. Lead. Invent. Regroup. Wink. Chill. Smile. And live as if your success was inevitable, and so it shall be.

Happy global domination,
The Universe"

It's all about a feeling right? Just like the song "I gotta feeling" from Black Eyed peas. Feel the energy you possess, feel the success even before it happens. Feel like nothing can stop you, and that you are invincible. You know you are capable of accomplishing anything you put your mind into so why ever think otherwise. Appreciate everything you have, be thankful, be grateful and get that hungry feeling of getting everything you ever dreamed off. I am sure that despite the challenges you are facing or will face in your lifetime, you will push through and will come out a winner. Never allow anyone to convince you otherwise, and especially that little voice inside you that will try to negate your effort and will certainly create fear in your mind to abandon your goal. Listen to that other voice that direct you in the path of righteousness and encourages you to never let go of your dreams. This is the ultimate voice you need to listen to. During moments of anxiety or stress, I am sure you will always figure out ways to push through these moments and find the best solution that will fit your needs and expectations. Life is a journey, NOT a destination.

As life being a journey, never forget to LIVE that life, and not wait for getting to where you want to be to finally live that life. As we all know that some destination is the end of life, never feel like you stopped living that journey to start living when you arrive at destination. This is never the way to experience life. The moment is NOW, TODAY, AT THIS MOMENT IN TIME. Never think like: "When I get this job, I will be able to buy this or that" or "When I have a family, I will be able to do the things I always wanted to do" or " When I graduate, I will have more opportunities available to me". Nothing is guaranteed so when you do live that life, learn to live it TODAY so you never end up regretting not living it when you are no longer able to enjoy it. Life is too short to live this way to start taking the time to enjoy the moments you have and appreciate the many opportunities you live in everyday. The most important thing is to NEVER give up. Success is right around the corner.

Time Is Too Precious To Waste Loathing

Life is too short to spend on bickering. Do not waste your precious time feeling bitter. Whatever grudge you are holding will just be a detriment to your life's unfolding. Let go of it, before you regret the life you wasted complaining.

There is more in this world you can be thankful for. Just look around you and you will see the gifts that surround you. The sky which may not be always clear is an evidence that it is a wide world you inhabit, and that you may explore anytime you like. The ground you stand on may not always be solid, but alas, at least you are standing still. You may any moment fall or roll, but you could always stand proud that you subdued the trial. The air you breath in is just a proof that you are alive and that it is ever so free, similar to how so ever you are free to choose a better tomorrow. The trees and plants around you, which almost no one bothers to care for, are still there subsisting and growing, and will only be completely scorched if everything else is gone.

Imagine yourself living in the past when there were very few of what you have now. Are you not more than lucky today? You have more resources to use to improve your life or change whatever it is to change. Do not bother proving yourself to somebody who probably is not even bothered about you. Instead be busy taking advantage of the blessings that had been brought to you. Ponder on memories that will uplift your spirit; take a break on issues that are unappealing. Engulf on tasks that will give you satisfaction and will leave you no room to contest.

Time is something you never can beat. It never slows down let alone stops, nor it is not going to play backward to change its pace, and it just goes on and on. However you, even if you pause and turn again and again, your life will come to an end. So think! Do not be inane pulling yourself back on things that give pain than gain. Replete every minute of you with happy thoughts and feelings. Engage in activities that will make your day fulfilling. Fill in the lonely gaps with peace and consolation; find no pleasure in thrusting implication. Stop your habit of looking back to people, events or things you are angry about because it will just go up in smoke. Always remember that time is not going to wait for you, and you will reach the finish line saying, if only I have more time.

Why We Should Be Thankful in Life

Gratitude is one of the many stepping stones on the road to happiness. It is one of those virtues, that if you cultivate today, it will stay with you for the rest of your life. Gratitude is not just about being grateful for what you have, it is in fact about being able to appreciate the good in life and being able to turn around the bad so that it doesn't dampen your spirits.

Gratitude as a virtue can act as a shield if you let it, and it will protect you from all the bad in the world because once it is a part of who you are, no matter how much someone or something tries to upset you, you will be able to put it into perspective and lead a happy life without wallowing.

Here are some examples of how gratitude can help you and those around you-
If you've had a bad day at work and now you're forced to sit in a grey, cold conference room to attend some meeting. You can immediately start looking for something good in there, like the view outside the room, or lovely colleagues. This thank you that you send out will return to you by making you feel warm and happy.

Even a simple thank you can work wonders. If you're going shopping to some market and a vendor hands out a bag of fruits to you. Stop for a second and thank him/her like you really mean it. See how that smile will infectiously spread on their face too. You didn't even have to do anything big. A simple thanks will now have a ripple effect for the rest of the day.

Compliment someone on something. It doesn't matter whether the compliment is big or small; what matters is whether you really mean it. It is important to understand that if we really mean the things we say or do, our behaviour will communicate that message to the people around us. That compliment you make might earn you a compliment in return, get you a new friend, or just give you the joy of making someone's day special.

So how can you cultivate the practice of gratitude in your life?

Gratitude journal- studies suggest that if you write things down, the effect goes deeper than skin. Note down about five things you are grateful for, every day and see how much positivity that creates.

Write a letter- if someone has done something good for you, even if it was a very long time ago, write them a letter thanking them for whatever it is that they did and how much it is appreciated by you. This might open doors to new rekindled friendship for you.

Learn from your mistakes- When faced with a bad situation, ask yourself what you can do about it. What it is that you can learn from what happened and ensure it doesn't happen again.

Smile- here is one of the simplest solutions. When you answer a call, smile. It will reflect in your voice and the other person might enjoy talking to you.

Gratitude is very important if you want to lead a peaceful and happy life.

Activating Your Gratitude For More Energy

Do you have an attitude of gratitude? Is it energizing? It is rewarding in many ways, ways you'll be glad to experience.

Wayne Dyer taught me a powerful lesson - after he died. He taught me about starting my day with gratitude in a way I'd never done before. It was much simpler than other approaches I'd practiced before. Consequently, it was more satisfying and energizing.

First, practicing gratitude opens you to more joy. When you appreciate all the big and little things in your life, you find there are more things to appreciate. Everyone receives many gifts through the day --- every day. If you are practicing your attitude of gratitude you see them. Seeing the bounty of good in your life lifts your energy. Seeing those gifts helps support you during times it doesn't feel you are getting good things in your life.

When you live with your head down, grumbling about all that's wrong in your life you are miserable, you miss the gifts, and your energy is in the pits. That's not a good way to live. And you aren't someone others want to be around either, adding to your misery. Ooh, what a sad downward spiral that is!

When your life is full of criticism of the things and people in your life you cast your dark shadow all around you. Most people tend to avoid critical and sour people. How are your friendships and work associations going for you lately?

Here's the tip I took to heart: as you wake up each morning, and put your feet on the floor, give thanks. Give thanks three times. Then start your day. There is always something to be thankful for, especially first thing in the morning, and your day will start better when you think of three things and express that gratitude.

One twist I've added to that gratitude start is to stretch before getting up and putting my feet on the floor. That stretch, learned from my cats, wakes your body up so you feel truly alive! That stretch loosens your muscles and gets your blood flowing. I'm grateful for that feeling - every day.

It doesn't take much time. It's powerful. It's uplifting. It's energizing, especially in combination with the cat stretch. Try this every morning for a week, then a month, and see how it changes your life.

Have you exercised your attitude of gratitude today?

Be Thankful

The things I have learned to be thankful for:

If you have a car... be thankful

If you have a roof... be thankful

If you have any money in a savings account... be thankful

If you have more than just condiments in your refrigerator... be thankful

If you have supportive friends... be thankful

If you have an actual bed to sleep on... be thankful

If you have a supportive family... be thankful

If you have a job... be thankful

If you have enough strength to get through your daily REQUIREMENTS... be thankful

If you had enough to eat today... be thankful

If you have electricity... be thankful

If you have a safe neighborhood... be thankful

If you are not in fear of losing your roof... be thankful

If you've ever had enough to be able to bless another... be thankful

If you've never had a Christmas without presents... be thankful

If you've never had a Christmas without a tree... be thankful

If you've never had to pray your child will heal on their own because you couldn't afford a doctor... be thankful

If you have ever been able to take anything you have for granted... be thankful

There are so many more things we could add to this list - every day common things we just skip right past but that really affect people all around us:

If you've never been abused... be thankful

If you have more than dirt floors... be thankful

If you're children didn't have to be sold as slaves... be thankful

If you've never experienced addiction or incarceration... be thankful

If you've never known unexpected job loss or eviction... be thankful

We want to believe that somehow it is because of our own wonderfulness and intelligence and hard work that we've been able to avoid these things. But the truth is - it's by GRACE.

There is no way for us to protect ourselves from the pitfalls and tragedies of life and to think we somehow did and that those 'less fortunate' simply need to be 'more like us' - is presumptuous and rude.

Be thankful - and discover a different level of content and joy. None of us makes it entirely on our own. And recognising all the ways we've been blessed or helped along the way - recognizing how little control we really have, makes us appreciate all that we have just that little bit more.

And it allows us to have more acceptance and generosity towards those around us that are still learning the life lessons we have mastered. For only our assistance will help them reach new levels - not our rejection or judgementalism or declarations of how we got it all figured out.

Message From the Universe: I Can Only Help Those Who Help Themselves

wakeboard-aquatics-action-1701825.jpg

"While I would actually LOVE to help every living soul on the planet remember who they were in prior lives, why the pyramids were really built, and how their past beliefs shape present manifestations, I'd infinitely prefer to help them bust a move here and now, learn some new tricks, and live their dreams. Which, incidentally, is the only reason anyone ever chooses to come back.

Let's do this,
The Universe"

If you really want to accomplish something in your life, you need to take action and not expect opportunities to just come and fall on your lap. If you don't put yourself out there, nothing will ever reach out to you and beg you to offer you that half a million dollar salary. Life doesn't owe you squat and the feeling of entitlement you have should be buried and never brought back to the surface. You are better than that. If you want something to happen in your life, it is important for you to get up and do something productive. Stop feeling like you are the victim and stop blaming everybody else for your actions. Assume your responsibilities and do something about it. You still have a potential great life in front of you so go out there and grab it. The Universe can ONLY help the ones who help themselves. If you want to see great things happening, you need to take action TODAY and live your life to the fullest. Learn to enjoy and appreciate the little things and be thankful to be alive and well. If you have health, you have everything.

Not many have that luxury to be able to take initiative and go for their dreams. Many are just stuck in the feelings of guilt. They are jealous for others success and accuse them of being backstabbers because of their financial success. There are better ways to do things than feeling the way you do. If you want wealth in your life, start taking action towards it. Think about ideas and strategies on how to formulate the best plan to make your dream a reality. I am sure you are smart enough to make all of this happen. You can change things around in a heartbeat and you should take advantage of our great land for offering tremendous opportunities to everyone who is willing to put in the hard work and dedication. There are no secrets here, it is pretty straightforward. No need to cut corners as you will end up in the wrong track. Even if you do, there is always a way to get back to the beginning and start again. Many have succeeded later in life, even past the age of retirement (KFC Chicken) and never gave up despite the many challenges they've endured all through their lives. They pushed forward, no matter what. If they did it, you can do it as well.

Freelancing 101: How to Get Yourself Motivated (By Elizabeth Galit)

Woman In White Blazer Holding Tablet Computer
Lots of people talk about freelancing in the way they make it sound like it's always a vacation. As a freelancer, I can somehow attest to that, since I always find to have the option of putting off work and take a nap instead. Very few people to no one won't tell us the biggest problem of freelancing - how to get your work done throughout the day.

Let's face it - the comfort of our home tempts us to just sit back, relax and do nothing. This happens a lot to me, and whenever I do it, I always find that I have to pay for it in the end. Either I don't sleep at all to reach a deadline or I don't have money in my bank account. Worse, both.

So what can you do to keep yourself motivated and finish your work without cramming for the deadline? Here are a few simple tips.

1. Have an early morning. I've read somewhere that waking up at 6 am helps you get motivated to do heavy tasks for the day. This has been so hard for me to achieve since I am on certain medications that give me late nights. But will power is indeed, powerful. Make it a habit to wake up as early as possible everyday to get more things done throughout the day.

2. A few stretching and a glass of fruit juice does the trick. I'm not sure if you've experienced this, but there are mornings when you feel like you're so tired and feel so heavy you think you can't lift a finger and start working. Try stretching a little bit and drink some fruit juice (usually orange juice or anything citrus-ey) to make you feel refreshed and energized.

3. Make a schedule for the day. Even if you're working at home, creating a schedule as if you're in a full time job helps big time. Assign a certain time and make it your work-begins-at time. And make sure there's also work-ends-at time, just like when you're in an office.

4. Take time to relax. This is the beauty of working from home. You get to take coffee breaks like, every hour. Make sure you don't ogle on your computer all day long. This is important: AVOID WORKING MEALS! Go to the kitchen for lunch, peep out the window, go to the veranda for coffee. Your computer table is just for work, okay? Okay.

5. Rewards never fail. In my personal experience, gone were the days when I would get motivated by higher salary. I no longer look forward to lots of money, but the things I can buy with it makes me pretty much excited. Treat yourself after a big project - go to an expensive Italian restaurant all by yourself or watch a movie or go out of town and look forward to these to keep yourself motivated. Keep in mind that although we are freelancers and we have all the time in the world in our hands, we still work so we need that much awaited break!

6. Self-discipline and positive perspective is the vital key. Of course, if you can't discipline yourself, then you won't be able to do anything. For me, it's focusing on the positive things that work. Don't forget to meditate and be thankful for the new day and think of the good deeds you can contribute today. It makes me feel good and somehow productive, too.

Message From the Universe: The Universal Question Remains: Is All This a CHOICE or FEELING?

"How about no matter the temptation, you no longer think or say, "I'm tired," "I'm hurt," "I'm angry."

Don't even think or say, "I'm happy." Instead, whenever the urge arises, think or say, "I choose to be tired, hurt, angry or happy." And give it a little time.

Because this is how you become anything,
The Universe"

Should we assume that Happiness is a choice? It is said, in the message above, that we should CHOOSE to be happy, hurt, angry or tired. If all of these feelings are choices, then what about people sharing their discontent by saying: "I feel angry towards this person, or I feel tired after a long day at work, or I feel very happy today because of all the great things that are happening in my life". So again, despite what the Universe is sharing towards choices or feelings, we, as humans, shouldn't take all of this literally. Depending on how we perceive life in general, we will opt for either one. Should we feel or choose? Could it be both? Why should it be ONLY one or the other? Unfortunately, choosing or feeling is not like a mathematical equation where the answer is based on logic. There is NO logic when it comes to who you are, as an individual. We are not computers, not yet, that is. We wake up every morning, and should be thankful for having that privilege. We get up and should be thankful for being able to use our legs to walk towards any destination. We breath, see, talk, use our arms and hands to perform the basic tasks in our lives, but forget to be grateful. WE take things for granted and feel entitled that all of what we already have is because LIFE is obligated to give it to us, which is, for many, very common perception.

Sorry to bust your bubble here, but life doesn't owe you anything. Just take a look around you, see all the innocent people being victims of screwed up people living in our society, killing for no reasons whatsoever. They were at the wrong place, at the wrong time. There were 14 of them, in San Bernardino, CA, that left their home in the morning, never ever predicting the end of their lives on that day. Let's analyze that a bit deeper. Can we say, based on past research, using metaphysical methodologies, that all 14 people who died were sharing the same negative thoughts in their mind, feeling miserable about something, not being appreciative about what they already had, or sending negative vibe to Universe for that despicable act of violence to happen on that day. How about Paris on November 13th? The same can go for the 2996 people who died on September 11th, 2001. How can that be possible? How can the Universe create an environment so destructive for 3000 people to die on that same day, from a deadly terrorist act (if we can call that terrorism, many questions remain unanswered about September 11th)? We can't really answer these questions as they go beyond what our mind can comprehend. It is above and beyond our level of understanding. We may have profilers specialist explaining the reasons as to why a terrorist can perform such deliberate act of violence to innocent victims by analyzing their childhood, what kind of life they lived and so on and so forth. From there, they can explain the reason why they went to these kind of extremes. However, no one can explain how the mind works, and despite troubled childhoods, we have seen people excel and achieve amazing things, becoming great people and helping others succeed. On the other hand, the opposite can also happen where people with great childhoods can create havoc by terrorizing people for no apparent reasons. They chose their destructive path and couldn't care less of who they bring with them. They know that if they simply commit suicide, no one will remember them. However, if they take 10 or 15 innocent victim lives while committing suicide, this is where their name is eternal. Choose the righteous path, and always feel happy day in and day out.

Accepting Your Blessings - Tips for Recognizing What You Truly Have

Do you focus on lack or your blessings? It's so much more relieving to concentrate on your blessings than lack. The more you spend time thinking about lack, the more you are engulfed in lack. On the other hand, if you shift your mind on to your life's blessings, more and more blessings enter your life. So how do you recognize these blessings? Read on to find out.

You wake up one morning. Look around you - what do you see? Yes, what do you really see?

You have a cozy home with all the utilities such as electricity, gas and water. You have a cooler and heater and can set the temperature as you wish. You have a closet full of dresses and clothes from which you can choose to wear for the day.

Your hubby and kids are waking up. You feel blessed for having a family. You have breakfast together. You have food in the refrigerator, both cooked and uncooked.

You go out in your car and follow the signs. You drive to work. As you drive, you take a glance at your wonderful surroundings: trees, flowers, gardens, roads, homes and so on.

When you reach your office, you have a ready elevator to take you to the required floor. You have a PC and laptop to work on. You have access to the mighty reign of internet to get help with your work projects and existing documents as well.

You have a coffee break to talk to your colleagues. You share thoughts and ideas before you return back to work.

You return home to find your family who have also turned in for the evening and night. You have dinner together and you have a chitchat together before you retire to sleep.

So many people around the world have lost family members owing to illness, war or other form of disaster. They don't have enough food to eat. So many can hardly read or write and yet they have to make their both ends meet. Needless to say, many are jobless as well. They do not have the fare to ride on a transport nor do they know driving let alone, own a car. Their daily frustrations do not allow them to appreciate the beauty surrounding them. Nor do they have a proper home to rest, relax and sleep.

Aren't you thankful for all the blessings of your life that you do possess? I have helped you to recognize them and now probably you can find many more on your own. Be thankful for all the blessings and more and more of them will surround you as you continue to focus on them. Forget the things you lack. Worry should not be a part of the formula. Be happy for all you have and that is the simple secret to having more.

8 Ways to Live a Happier Life (By Adejoke Adeyanju)

Woman Open Arms While Closed-eyes Smiling Photo

This topic resonates so much with me, I have fallen in and out of depression, there was even a time in my life when I contemplated suicide, happiness looks kind of easy, but it is such a task and it's something people strive for but often difficult to reach.

In this article, I present to you 8 ways to live a happier life, based on my personal experience and what has worked for me; Enjoy.

1. You need Faith in your life.
According to an online dictionary, Faith is complete trust or confidence in someone or something. I don't care whether you're a Christian or a Muslim, or what church you attend; all that doesn't matter. You need Faith in God in your life, that's what will pull you through the challenges of life. Faith gives you this confidence and quiet trust during life turmoil.

2. Be Thankful.
Happy people are always thankful people. There are so many things to be thankful for; things that you would ordinarily overlook; the gift of sleep, a bed, food, safety, good health etc. Practice the attitude of gratitude, it makes you appreciate life.

3. Do something, you Love.
One of the biggest sources of unhappiness is expending your energy on things that you don't love. Most often times we do things simply because we have to or to fulfill the expectations of others. For example, you may be working at a job you absolutely hate because of the salary, job security etc. Instead of spending your energy on something you don't love, why not concentrate your energy on something that you love and watch your self-esteem and happiness soar. Success can only come when you do something you love.

4. Flush out every form of Negativity.
You can't be happy when there's negativity around you; negative people, negative thinking, and negative words.

5. Have a positive attitude.
Be optimistic about life. More than half of the things we worry about never happen. Great things happen, when you think positively and have the right attitude. People with a good attitude are active and productive. Attitudes drive behavior. If you want to → succeed at anything you need to have the → right mindset. When you adopt a positive attitude, life becomes a rewarding adventure instead of something to get through.

6. Surround yourself with loving, supportive people.
We cannot run life alone, it is not an individual race; we need other people. Social interactions can be a source of happiness. We're social beings, even if you're an introvert or a loner. Life's too short to live it completely alone. People with perceived positive social relationships even live longer. So be social, surround yourself with people who make you feel good, and release those who make you feel bad.

7. Travel.
Don't spend life in one little corner; take some time out to see the world (while you still can). Travelling is an escape from reality, gives you a new breath of life, moreover, it's an opportunity to meet different people. Meeting people and seeing new ways of living, expands your horizon, gives you exposure and a new zest for living.

8. Laugh
What do I mean by Laugh? Learn to laugh at yourself. Don't take yourself too seriously. Don't beat yourself up for making mistakes. If you make a mistake, learn from it and move on. Sometimes, laugh at the mistakes you make and move on.

In summary, in life; it is not what happens to you that counts. It is how you react to what happens to you, especially when you have unexpected problems of any kind. The only source of → happiness - and unhappiness - comes from inside you.

Happiness is not something that comes to you. It is something you create now, today. Waiting for something to change in order to be happy is waiting to live → your life.

Attitudes for Success

Woman Balancing With Right Foot
If you want to be successful in your life, there is no shortcut or a secret for it, you just have to change your attitude and thoughts in order to become successful and have a happy life you always wanted to live.

Many of us wonder why some people have vast circle of friends as compared to themselves. In addition, why some of the people are so famous whom they know but they are not. The reason is their attitude.

There are huge differences between your and their attitude, which makes them different from you.

You can use these tips to implement in your life and achieve success.

1. Positivity: Positivity of your thoughts are the most important in earning achievements. Cut off the negativity from your life and feel something good in everything. This is the first point of achieving success.

2. Things which make you happy: In order to fill your life with positivity, you must think about the things which make you happy rather than the things which will make you sad.

Think of the happy and precious moments and do not over think about the depressing moments of your life.

3. Live every moment: Try to live each and every moment of your life by looking forward for the happy moments. It will be helpful in achieving success.

4. Be Thankful: Most of the people feel incomplete when they see another person with more luxuries. This attitude will make your life miserable and you won't find a single moment of happiness, so try to be happy in whatever you already have and be thankful for the things and relationships you currently got. Maybe the things you are taking for granted are the things one is wishing to have in their life. So stop complaining and try to achieve more good things by working hard.

5. Make the most out of it: In order to achieve success you must never miss an opportunity to learn new things in your life and you must take advantage and utilize your precious time in learning something good rather than wasting it.

6. Facing failure: There are some who lose control of the situation. Whether they like it or not, they become overpowered by their fear of failure and paralyzed by it. They cannot move forward and would rather not take the risk or the action that must be taken. They are held back from achieving their goals and realizing their potential, simply because they are so afraid of failure that they would rather not do anything.

7. Don't be a procrastinator: There are some of the things in our life which seems unpleasant to do but still we need to do it, instead of avoiding them, don't act like a procrastinator, instead try to complete these unpleasant projects in little portions and reward yourself after completing that particular job.

10 Tips To Get Your Week Started on Motivation Monday

People have asked me plenty of times how I stay motivated. They've asked me if I ever get tired of working at break-neck speed. The answer is simple. You have to figure out ways to remain motivated when you're looking to accomplish your dreams and goals.

We're not robots. Some days are better than others. But, on those down days, you have to figure out how to stoke the fire. You can't reach your goals without the motivation to get there. It takes consistency and persistence; especially on the days you're tired or are getting push back and just want to quit.

1. Choose Your Life's Theme Song: I wrote about this in my motivation book. If you don't have one already, get a theme song. Music is a great motivational driver. I have three songs that motivate me: "Big Time" by Peter Gabriel, "Another Day In Paradise" by Phil Collins, and "Show Me the Way" by Styx. There are plenty of tunes to choose from. Pick a song and play it when you need to get a boost.

2. Don't Be So Serious: I get it: Life is serious. But, it doesn't have to be that way all the time. I know we all want to achieve our goals and dreams and that takes work, but you have to have some fun. If you ever visited my offices, you would see a place where people work exceedingly hard, but the atmosphere is fun. The same is the case in my house. We take time out to enjoy little things because the only way to any success is to enjoy the process.

3. Don't Do It Alone: Not too long ago I heard the founder of a major company say that she did not tell a soul about her idea for her product for a year. She wanted to focus and not have any pushback. I don't tend to agree. What I've found is that telling everyone is the way to go. It helps keep you accountable. And, if you get pushback and you stop, well clearly you really didn't want to make that particular dream happen. I prefer not to do it alone, but if going it alone works for you until you're ready, do it.

4. Embrace Failure: If you're not failing, you're not really trying. Period. We live in a world that is all about "winning." That's great. We all like to win. But typically you can't win without failing. "Fail fast and fail often" is embedded in the American business psyche. I've noticed that entrepreneurs and freelancers get this, but many others don't. Change the narrative in your mind. Failing is okay. It shows you're trying. Just get up and keep going when you fail. Don't stop.

5. Take It In Small Parts: I'm a big believer in dreaming big and having a grand vision. Why not? Dreams and goals are aspirational. They're not meant to be little. If you're dreaming big, that's great. Keep those dreams alive by breaking them into small parts. It's almost humanly impossible to do something big and grand in one fell swoop. It takes a lot of parts to make the whole. So, break your dreams and the vision into smaller achievable parts.

6. Reward Yourself: When you accomplish a piece of your dream, reward yourself. It's important to give yourself something for having done a great job. Alternately, when you have a particularly tough day or period of time trying to get from A to B, take a time out. Do something for yourself. It doesn't matter what it is. Just do it for yourself. Consider it a "pre-reward" for then turning around the next morning and not quitting. Reward your tenacity.

7. Be Visual: Earlier I mentioned music as a motivator. Any goal or dream also requires some sort of visual. Use it as a reminder of where you're going. It doesn't matter if it's a Post-It note on your refrigerator or vision board full of pictures of the life you want to lead. Whatever it is, get it on paper somehow and make sure you look at it every day. Don't write it down and place your dreams in a drawer-literally. Get the written or photographed dream and plan somewhere you can see it daily.

8. Be Thankful: This one is an important one. I think a lot of people forget they have a lot to be thankful for in their lives. I've spoken to people who are going through a tough time and they tell me that they're offended when someone tells them, "Well, at least you don't have cancer and you have food to eat." Their point is that suffering in this world is relative. One person may seem to have it worse than another, but to any person, whatever they are personally suffering is still tough. My thinking is that no matter what, there's always something to be thankful for in life. Maybe it's simply a sunset, a song, a smile from a stranger or a hug from your kid. Be thankful every day for one thing-no matter how large or small. It helps.

9. Don't Take Your Eye Off The Ball: We're human. Sometimes we're not at our best. If you are having a down day and can't muster the strength to keep going, it's okay to take a day off. You have to be kind yourself. The trick is in not allowing it to become two days and then three days. If you need a break one day, that's fine. Get your strength back. But, the next day, get back to business and do something toward your dreams.

10. "Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, give up.": Those are the words of Winston Churchill. He said them to a group of students after London had endured 57 bombings by the Germans. You never give up. You look in the mirror and you never give up. When you give up, here's what happens: You're defeated. So, on those days when you feel like hanging it all up, don't dare. It'll pass. Breathe and keep going.

Nevertheless, make sure that you move and stretch once in a while. Take some decision to walk in a city or when you are going home from work.

3. Breathe deeply

This step is much shorter and practical. Have time to take a full 120 seconds to inhale and exhale very deeply. Repeat it for 6 or 7 breaths per minute. After doing this, everything will be a little bit clearer and better.

4. Be thankful always

Believe me or not, you got many things to be thankful for. You are alive living in a good place or in a city or in a country. Your life is so comfortable with the use of modern devices that entertain you, inform you of many important and interesting things and other things brought by modern life and you can enjoy them for free. Most of all, you have people whom you love and people who love you, though you don't realize it yet. No matter how tough life is, but so are you. Just take some moment to reflect and rest.

5. Take time to pray or meditate

Well, you need a place to meditate to think and reflect on your life.
