Why Do I Feel So Stuck In Life?

Life happens to all of us! We look up and so much time has gone by and we realize that "this is not what I planned for my life". "This is definitely not where I thought I would be at this point in my life!" Disappointment will often set in and then discouragement and distractions begin to cause us to feel as though we are stuck in our current stage of life as we appear to have lost sight of our dreams and goals. This is one of the statements posted on most of our marketing materials and website. It is from a conversation that took place a few years ago with someone that shared their heart with us as they attempted to make sense of their life.

Well, I hope that I can help you as you are trying to understand why you are where you are currently. I can assure you that it is never too late to make a course correction in your life; it may not appear to be easy and I am not promising that it will be easy but, it will certainly be worth the effort. Shall we begin?

Why Do I Feel So Stuck In Life? Where Did The Bread Crumbs Go?

For some of us our life seemed to be so clear; we were going to graduate from high school, go to college and land that dream job! Some of us planned on having the "American Dream" in the sense that, we would graduate from college, have a higher than average paying job, buy that dream house that you always wanted and have your three point five kids and a dog, cat, maybe a goldfish or a bird even; I don't know but you had a plan is the point.

For some; your dream was centered on becoming that independent person that lived by their own rules as they blazed through life living the kind of life that others would envy. Then there are those who were going to change the world! Fix those things that you saw as broken; you were going to be the change agent for social injustice; you were going to fix what you saw as a broken education system, or bring accountability to government-local, state or federal. You planned on revolutionizing the entertainment, sports, arts, medical, and literary fields.

So, here we are. When we turn around and look back at our lives we can't help but wonder "where did the time go?" We often evaluate our lives based on where we are currently and where we wanted to be at this stage of our lives. But we had a plan! We had this thing all figured out, what happened? What happen to me? This is not how I imagined my life would be. And then disappointment begins to set in followed by discouragement as we survey our life choices and start to feel stuck as we realize that we lost sight of our dreams and goals. There are a few of us who may feel like they gave up on their dreams or compromised their dreams for lesser endeavors.

Resentment soon creeps in and we are invited to play the "Blame Game" which can be a very nasty and destructive game. That blame game is a hot mess! When we reach this point in our lives; we can't figure out what happened to our well thought out plan? We begin to have these internal conversations that tend to excuse our lack of perceived success and focus on how other people have failed to help us succeed. Those internal conversations can be very condemning and cause us to take on a defeated perspective-meaning that we (you and I) are the problem due to some undetermined defect in the deepest core of who we are. Some of us even wrote our plan out and for those "A-type" people; you may have included charts and graphs. Keep reading, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it is not a train.

Why Do I Feel So Stuck In Life? What has happened To Me?

Like I stated at the beginning of this post; "life happens to us all." So, now we are at a place where some of us have started to have regrets. Many people who reach this stage in the process have resigned to just sticking with what they are doing now because it is too late start something new. They have come to the conclusion that it is too late to chase after their lost dreams, "dreams are for kids" they often think as they continue to live in quiet desperation hoping things will change.

I was told a very powerful and thought provoking story earlier this year as I volunteered to help with a 5k run to help raise money to provide clean, drinkable water for a Massai tribe in Narok, Kenya. I was told from a very reliable source that the people of that particular village have developed a way of thinking that is a direct result of the poor quality of water in their area.

Whenever a baby is born it is not given a name; they will not waste a name on the child until they are absolutely positive that the baby will live. In that village, when a person is given a family name, that name is permanent- that means that when that person dies, no one can say that name anymore. So, they will not waste a name until they know that life will continue.

Many of you are a lot like that African village. You have seen how so many of your dreams and plans start out good only to fail. Maybe you have experienced that not one single thing that you have attempted to do ever made it off the ground. Some have had their dreams shot down, tore down, and stomped into oblivion as soon as you worked up the courage to share it with someone. There are others who experienced unimaginable and unspeakable things done to them. Survivors of domestic abuse, there are people who have overcome substance abuse or seemingly debilitating injuries and illnesses.

You do not dare to dream again, that is the last thing on your mind right now. You are just trying to find some sense of normalcy. You dare not waste a name on anymore dreams; you will not give it a name because you cannot bear to see one more thing fail in your life! But, even as you are reading this you can feel something stirring deep inside of you. You can try to ignore it, you can try to push that feeling down into the recesses of your inner being but, it keeps struggling to break out. It is almost as if it is screaming at the top of its lungs to be acknowledged!

We make attempts to retrace our steps eager to find the exact moment when things went wrong. We hope that somehow we can pinpoint that exact instant and by some means reset our lives and everything will be okay. It doesn't work like that unfortunately; but there are some things that we can do that have the ability to change the trajectory of our lives.

Why Do I Feel So Stuck In Life? Change Can Come.

In my line of work you can find so many examples of what is commonly referred to as stages of change models. These models simply chart the various processes or stages one takes when making changes in their lives. This is a widely used tool when dealing with addictions. As we go through this process at a brisk pace, I hope that you can begin to see that there's still time and opportunities to see your dreams come to fruition.

  1. This is when you're not thinking about making changes in your life. This is where impairment has taken place for whatever reason and you have rejected the notion of even needing to change things in your life. Not a good place to be in.
  2. This is the place where most of you reading this are right now at this moment. You're tired of being in that place of impairment or hurt; you're serious about the need for you to start making some positive changes in your life.
  3. Now you're at the place in our life when you want to get the heck outta your rut, so you start looking for strategies and people to help you to leave your place of hurt, that place of being stuck (impairment).
  4. Yeah baby! This is the place where you start to implement those things that are necessary to bring about desired changes in your life and you begin to experience movement. You are no longer stuck!
  5. Hey! Now we're moving on up like "George and Wheezy! This is where you are achieving most of the goals that you have set and doing so with very little assistance. You have left your place of impairment and you're looking good!

Now, there's something that is very important to that I need you to remember; there's another stage that some don't address and I get why but, I feel that you need to read what I'm about to write. There will be times when you may find yourself back at the place of impairment. Do not panic, stop all negative internal conversations and go straight back to using the strategies that you have learned to becoming unstuck and examine how you lost focus so that you're aware of that particular pitfall if and when it shows up again. I am a firm believer in the idea that you can use failure as a tool, a learning opportunity if you view failure appropriately.

Failure, even if you are the reason for your perceived failure can become a teachable moment if you look at the situation properly. When you choose to view failure as a learning opportunity, you are actually continuing your process of change which in turn keeps you from feeling like you're stuck. I hope this helps you in your journey towards becoming unstuck.

Using Personal Development To Discover The Source Of Your Anger

Angry,upset,pout,face,dissatisfied - free image from needpix.com

There is an entire industry that focuses on people's inability to control their anger. Some people do need therapy to deal with these issues and that cannot be ignored. However for most of us simply finding the source of that anger and then choosing to take action on dealing with the source will be enough to make a difference in our life.

I am confident in saying that the source of your anger is usually not the external factors you believe it is but you. You are the source. That is what we are going to explore today - how you are creating your own anger.

Control

You see I believe that all emotions can be controlled. We choose what to laugh at, cry at and be inspired by. Anger is no different in the fact if we get angry it is because we consciously chose to be angry. In most cases no one forced us to yell, pound our fists, flip off the guy in traffic or storm out of the room.

Getting angry over things we cannot control or believe could happen but haven't is detrimental to our happiness. A lot of anger comes from a place of feeling like we should be able to control something we can't. This is such a waste of our time and energy. Try to let go of the things that make you angry that you have no control over.

This includes the traffic, the weather, the news, Bob at the office or the anger you feel anticipating that something might go wrong. Anger is usually something you are a manifesting inside long before anything actually happens. Let's use traffic as an example of an uncontrollable.

Before you even leave the house you are angry at how traffic is going to be. Why do we get angry at the traffic? How does it make sense to be in our car giving it to the traffic people whoever they are and wherever they are? They can't hear you! What a waste of precious energy. Why not look at traffic as the mini vacation it can be. Listen to a personal development audio CD, comedy or whatever but you have the choice to make it what it is.

You have the power to change how you look at life which in turns changes how you live that life.

All those little things that bug you at the end of the day are just all you. You cannot change those things in life but you can seek to improve your outlook on them. Do you know who is really bugging you? Yourself and that little voice inside you that is telling you to be angry.

The Little Voice

Let's quickly examine this little voice just to be clear on how it plays a part in our anger. Is your voice saying you should be mad because...

  • You don't make enough money
  • You don't have the career you deserve
  • You don't have the body you want
  • Your boss doesn't appreciate or understand you
  • People don't treat you right

The list can go on forever but I am here to let you know that you control what that voice is saying. The little voice wants to blame everyone else for why you feel angry and take no responsibility. Stop blaming everyone else for what you don't have and see if it shifts the way you look at things.

At the end of the day everything we have is a direct reflection of the effort we were willing to put into it. Maybe you are angry that you know you could try harder but just don't. I can't be angry at myself for not being a millionaire if I don't want to put in the time and effort to become one. Maybe I will just be mad at the universe for not handing me the money. Ya right!

Positive Anger

How can something as negative feeling as anger have any positive attributes? Well the fact is anger is not always a bad feeling to have if you use it to create a positive outcome. We assert ourselves better with a hint of anger but become aggressive when we let anger control us.

Turn your anger into something positive that helps other people. If you take a look at how a lot of change is created in the world it can usually be traced back to someone choosing to be upset by an event in their life. If it wasn't for those people feeling a need to take action on that anger vs. dwell on it we may not have people who work toward world peace, a green earth, join protective services or combat cruelty to animals.

Using your anger to take action in a positive way is the best method for dealing with that anger.

If you are not looking to change the world you can also exercise, exercise and then exercise some more to combat the effects of anger. Once you become fully self-aware as to why you are angry you will handle it better in the moment but until then you need an outlet for all that anger.

This is especially true if you used to be physically active all the time and are not as much anymore. People do not realize the benefit the regular exercise was giving them because they never attributed exercise to reducing their anger.

Find something you love like running, yoga, martial arts or whatever you find gives you that release. Your body will not only benefit physically but your emotional health will shoot through the roof. If you are going to choose to let things anger you then you might as well benefit from it.

Simply by adding back in the type of exercise you used to love to do you may find some of that anger disappears. Who knows you may discover that the reason you were angry with yourself is because you had given up a physical activity you loved in the first place. You most likely will discover what you are blaming for "making" you give it up.

Acceptance

First ask yourself are you angry at the fact you feel angry? The angrier you feel the angrier you get. This is like adding gas to a fire expecting it to go out. Now is the time to forgive yourself for feeling angry, for the outbursts and the needless hurt you have caused others. Holding onto this will not allow you to make progress.

Accept the fact you are angry and that you are responsible for your anger. That may make some of you defensive and it is not meant to. I want you to feel a surge of personal power instead now that you realize you are the master and commander of your anger.

By acknowledging that yes you are angry with yourself for something you wish you would have done or something you did that you wished you hadn't you can be at peace with it and start fresh. You will never deal with your anger by avoiding admitting you are angry.

Do not be ashamed that you are angry because out of that feeling you will become afraid to fully express your emotions in any way. Even when you have mastered your emotions you will still feel anger sometimes but it will come out as positive self-assertiveness not as a self-destructive behaviour like yelling or overeating.

Accept yourself for what you are right now and move forward.

The Internal Source of Your Anger

I will be so bold as to say almost all of our anger has nothing to do with what is going on around us and everything to do with what is going on inside of us. We are usually angry at ourselves for something. Blame your lack of money on your career all you want but realize that it is you who wakes up each day to go to that career. No one is forcing you but you.

But Darrin, what about the bills, my family and my obligations? Yes we all have those but that doesn't mean you have to be unhappy to fulfill them. If you are unhappy with an area of life get to changing it. This may involve you leaving your comfort zone, taking on new skills and becoming someone you don't believe you are capable of becoming. I believe you can.

It can be difficult to break out of being routinely angry but I want you to see it for the routine it is. If you wake up feeling angry before anything has even happened to you yet then you need to discover the internal source of that anger. You are preplanning being angry.

We all tend to apply all of our past feelings to situations and always want to believe we already know what will happen so we can justify your anger. Just because it happened yesterday doesn't mean it will happen today. Even if it does that doesn't mean you have to react the same.

You never give yourself the opportunity for those situations not to happen or to deal with them in a different way by starting your day angry. Even waking up tomorrow choosing to only plan on reacting to everything in a positive way is a good first step to take.

What you have is the responsibility to not let others anger you through their actions. You are most likely angrier at yourself for letting them make you feel that way vs. their actual act of angering, you intentional or not.

We are angry at ourselves for letting other people control how we feel.

Wake up each day and treat it exactly like it is - a new day. Free of the past and only full of the future you choose to create. What would a day without anger feel like to you?

Today we explored how the main sources of anger could be:

  • You have given up something you loved doing; you believe you should be something more than you are, you are trying to control the things in life you have no control over and you are letting others control your emotions.

There could be others so keep digging deeper until you find the source of your anger. It could end up being one main source that has controlled all of your anger. You never know until you take the time to do the work.

The only feelings we feel are the one's we allow others to make us feel. Realizing you have that type of control means you can consciously choose your life.

Take Action Request:

As you can see this is one of the more lengthy posts I have written and this take action request will be more in depth also. If you struggle with anger please take the time to do this.

Get out your journal and write down everything that makes you angry right from the career you hate down to the fact your wife puts her socks on left foot first. Every little thing you can imagine that you know rubs you the wrong way. Now with that do the following:

  • Ask yourself why that particular thing makes you angry
  • Then ask yourself why exactly that particular answer makes you angry
  • Then keep going until the last answer sounds like "The reason I am angry is because I... " this is where you find the source of your anger and can acknowledge and take responsibility for it.

What I hope you discover is how you are choosing to let those things anger you. This exercise should also help you come to the realization at how silly some of the things are that you get mad at and really is just a matter of letting go.

Your Life Your Choice Your Design

"Anger is a killing thing: it kills the man who angers, for each rage leaves him less than he had been before - it takes something from him." - Louis L'Amour

Three Steps to Take Today to Get Your Work Off Your Hard Drive

Photo Of Woman Using Laptop

When your work, your writing, your ideas and your messages languish on your hard drive, not much good can show up from them. When you publish, create, write, build a video series or audio series, you can attract clients, attract business growth, build a legacy, and change the planet's consciousness.

Here are three steps you can take today to change the world, in some way, with your message.

The first is easier than it sounds: take inspired action.

The second is harder than it sounds: release the hold of judgment you fear from family, friends or well-meaning colleagues.

The third is vital and easily misunderstood: be strategic in how you take action. Choose among the venues and avenues for creation - blog, podcast, video series, book, eBook, webinar, speaking engagement.

So for the first action step, what can you build or create today that would change your life right away? Ask yourself these questions: can I make a video today? Can I record an MP3 audio today? Can I write a blog today? If you have work on your hard drive, ask yourself, what can I release or plan to release, today?

Next, you want to attack the judgment piece head-on. This is something some people call "the elephant in the room." When you fear recrimination, you might be stuck with lots of beautiful and inspirational messages that can't get out. To release this, first, commit to releasing the fear of judgment. Next, know that your trepidation could be awareness. What if some people judge you? Could you let that show up without blocking any of their perceptions? What if some people believe you are crazy? Since I personally communicate with spirit from the other side, this has happened to me a time or two. Could you let all the judgment show up and still honor your creations with expression? Yes, that. Today, commit to that. Or make a solid beginning.

And for the third step, choose a medium that is the most expressive for you. Begin with one medium, and by this I refer to an MP3 (audio) or an MP4 (video) or a written expression (blog, article or book). Choose some means of releasing some part of your message to the world. Tune into the audience: would it be more YouTube, Tumblr, Podcast or Amazon related? Would it like a hard piece of something to show for itself (a true CD or DVD or book on paper)? Would it be totally fine with online download-able content?

You aren't alone on this journey.

Yes, You Gotta Believe in Yourself - But There's a Catch

Woman In White Lace Dress

Believe in yourself.

Ah, how quaintly those three words ring throughout our collective childhood memories.

And for many a good reason. They're age-old wisdom, really. You know how some people say that every one of those cliché'd sayings always have their legitimacy back somewhere?

Yeah, this one's a prime example.

Believe in yourself is something we're usually told as we grow up. It's the predictable point of every other fable, fairytale, kid's show, cartoon, or other type of narrative cultural product aimed at children.

And indeed, why wouldn't it be? ALL confident people believe in themselves. The one common denominator for everyone who ever stood up for themselves and made a deliberate effort to change the world for the better, is confidence. And that means believing in yourself.

Oh, and claiming that believe in yourself is somewhat of a mantra within the world of self-help and self-development would be an understatement on par with "Batman Forever isn't exactly the greatest movie ever" or "Donald Trump can seem a little self-centered sometimes".

So then why is this one confidence coach all of a sudden coming along and telling you to NOT believe in yourself??

Well, I'm not.

But...

Like I've written about before, simply loving yourself isn't gonna cut it in and by itself if you want to achieve lasting confidence. Well, this is kinda the same thing.

And indeed, the two are highly alike. One couldn't very well love oneself without believing in oneself, or vice versa.

In fact...

Loving yourself = self-esteem.

And...

Believing in yourself = self-confidence.

"Okay, wait a minute, WAIT A MINUTE! So you're saying that there's a "but"... If I want to build my confidence... by being confident?!?"

No.

My point is, that simply believing in yourself is not enough to build lasting confidence if what you're doing doesn't truly support you and matter to you.

I'll even say it again for good measure:

To believe in yourself is not enough to build lasting confidence if none of what you're doing is truly supportive or truly relevant to you.

For example, you might believe in yourself when it comes to playing video games. And your confidence in your video game skills might be ever so justified. But if you sit around playing video games literally all day, chances are you're not gonna have much going for you out in the real world.

(Unless, of course, you're one of those professional gamers who go to tournaments and win huge cash prices and whatnot.)

You might believe in yourself in a whole lot of areas and still end up making a complete crash-landing of your entire life -- or even worse.

Think I'm kidding? I know this, because I did this. And lot of people I know did this, too.

... In fact, pretty much every successful person ever did this.

Yes, you gotta believe in yourself if you want confidence. It goes without saying. But the crucial "but" here is that your confidence won't last unless you...

  • Do what matters to you
  • Know what you're doing
  • Know why you're doing it
  • Do the right things at the right time
  • Stay focused
  • Keep at it and never give up

Do all of the above check out with you? Good. In that case, you can hardly believe in yourself too much.

Change The World - Create A Confidence Legacy Today

Confident business man 3

What is a confidence legacy?

The Oxford Dictionaries define "legacy" as:- "Something left or handed down by a predecessor."

For this definition, you are the "predecessor" i.e. after you have died.

So it reads - a legacy is "something you will leave or hand down to others after you have died."

So a confidence legacy is - is something you will leave or hand down to others with regard to confidence after you have died.

So, will you leave the world more confident than it was when you were born? And if it is to be more confident, in what ways will it be more confident, and what confident resources will you be leaving the world (i.e. books, videos, memories of how you lived and what you did etc.)?

It's not cheery to talk about dying, but it will happen, and it's best to plan your life with that in mind. To help you do this, I've two quick exercises for you to do.

The first exercise will help you work out how you want people to remember you after you have died?

All you need to do is:

Step 1 - List the categories of people in your life e.g. partner, family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues etc.

Step 2 - Write a short speech for each of the categories - and the speech is what you'd like them to say about you at your own funeral.

Once you have done this you'll have clarified how you'd like people to remember you after you have gone. This gets you to the core of what you really want out of life, and what is important to you. Once you know this you can start planning your life so you know what you need to do from today onwards, in order to make those speeches really happen.

The second exercise, really narrows down on what is important to you and what sort of general legacy you'd like to leave.

All you need to do is just imagine yourself on your deathbed, about to die. What sort of things will you be thinking about? What will you be remembering? What regrets will you have? What would you like to have achieved in your life? What would you like to own, and where would you like to have travelled to? How many people are your friends? Who will love you? How will your family be? What sort of legacy will you be leaving the world?

An additional question to ask yourself at the end of this exercise is - "What sort of confidence legacy will you be leaving the world?"

Write your answers out so you don't forget them.

Now that you know how you'd like to leave the world when you die, and what sort of confidence legacy you'd like to leave, you can now ask how can you leave this legacy? What do you need to do to make it happen.

In order to work this out, all you need to do is just brainstorm in what ways you can leave a legacy of confidence.

Examples could be:-

1 - The example of you having lived a confident life. This is you leading by example.

2 - A book about confidence

3 - Online videos about confidence

4 - A confident family. They are confident because you've raised them to be confident.

5 - Your neighbourhood full of confident people.

6 - All your friends and acquaintances, and work colleagues (both past and present) being confident.

These become your confidence legacy goals, and knowing your goals means you can start to create your plan as to how you are going to achieve your goals.

You'll need to come back to your goals and plan regularly (I'd say daily) in order to (I) develop it so that it lasts you a life time, (ii) to pull out actions that you need to do today, and (iii) complete some actions today towards your confidence legacy goals.

If you decide to leave a confidence legacy once you die, you will receive a lot of benefits.

The benefits you'll receive include, you'll:

1 - Be more confident now,

2 - Maintain your higher level of confidence for longer,

3 - Enjoy your life more, and

4 - Achieve more

You will also get a tremendous sense that you are contributing to the future of the world. This will give you a dramatic boost of confidence.

Having such a longterm goal means that when confidence shaking things happen to you, you'll be more confident as they'll be put into perspective and will appear smaller to you.

We should all plan to leave a confidence legacy. Can you imagine what our world would be like if we did? If everyone made it one of their life goals to leave everyone in the world, and future generations more confident, what a positive future that would be.

So just before you finish, decide that you'll leave a confidence legacy, and leave the world a better place. Give people something positive to remember you by. Do the two exercises, and enjoy feeling your confidence increase as a result.

Be Crazy Enough To Think You Can Change The World

Woman Standing on Cliff

Be crazy enough to think you can change the world, and you just might. Although it looks like it is set in its ways, humanity is in fact extremely open to change by people who dare to swim against the tide of history. The major changes and inventions in evolution are always made by such mavericks.
So, which kind of person would you like to be? Are you crazy enough to make a change? Do you want to take the easy path, the one less traveled or create yours? Can you keep going even when all the odds are against you?

Very often, you hear a small voice which tells you that you cannot accomplish your goals. It is all in your mind and yet, you struggle to get rid of it. When you hear it, it is hard not to believe in it. But instead of fighting it, do exactly what it says you cannot do. That is how you can overcome doubt.

People frequently believe that if something did not yet happen in history, it is either because it cannot happen or it should not. So many people believe that there is no point in trying, all of that because someone crazy enough has or is trying already. But to change the world, you must think differently.

"Do not go where the path may lead but go instead where there is no path, and leave a trail." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Challenge the Status Quo
And yet, some eccentric people are crazy enough to work diligently towards their dreams. They do everything so that their vision comes true. And they are the ones who think they can change the world, knowing and believing in what they want to create. It is great to admire such successful people but you must not try to become them; rather be inspired by them to create your own.

Throughout the course of my life, I do not know why, but I always love to challenge the status quo. People often think I break the rules, but I do not see it that way. I mean, do not get me wrong, I am a maverick. And yes, rules and status quo have their place at times. But too many people in this world put their mind on automatic and just follow the easy road.

Yet, if the world wants to progress and move forward, it needs some mavericks to challenge the existing conditions once in a while. No matter what your belief or feelings are; it is true that all of us have the power to change the world. But only those who are crazy enough to think they can alter it do.

Be Crazy Enough
Know that you are born with the same amount of power embedded within you. So do not be afraid to think or be irrational if you have impossible dreams. Keep on pursuing them until you transform or revolutionize the globe. Throughout history, there are multiple accounts of people who were crazy enough to think that they could change the world and actually did.

And yet, too many people think they do not have such potential, ability, influence, or even good ideas to change things on this wonderful planet. Well, these people are right. The reason being is that, as always, you become what you think about. You create what is in your mind, never more.

But then, you have those creative thinkers full of confidence, the great visionaries that think and are sure they can create things. These are the people who change the world around us. So, you have to be a go-getter, an innovator, and more often than not, crazy enough to believe in your ideas.

"When 99% of people doubt your idea, you are either gravely wrong or about to make history." - Scott Belsky
Go Change the World
When you do go for your dreams, it is never going to make sense or be obvious. You are never going to walk out of your door and see a clear way that you have to go. But if you ever do, it is a trap. If you go down the path that is already laid for you, it is going to take you to all the destinations that are already known.

Thus, it is going to take you to all of the places that nature drove people before you. But if you want to go somewhere unique, someplace only you feel like going, create something new, change the world and really live a life that has meaning for you, you have to craft it on your own. You have to take the first step through faith.

"As you start walking out on the way, the way appears." - Rumi
And as you are looking at the choices that are before you, you may see a path that is well-traveled. But there is also another that is not yet visible which will not become something until you step on it. You have to understand that this is what your life means to be if you are crazy enough.

Use your Natural Ability
But if you do not, the only frustration you will look back on with tremendous defeat is regret. You will know that what you did was easy, and even though it was you; it was already made by others before you. Yet, there is a natural mechanism inside of you, something that wants you to walk a path that has never been walked before.

And that ability is, right now, inside of you, which makes it even harder. You feel a desperate desire for things to be easy. But it will not be easygoing, it will be hard, and you are going to stumble, fall on your face, fail, but that is the only way you can change the world.

"Only a man who knows what it's like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even." - Muhammad Ali
Crazy Enough to Change the World
So, what you have to ask yourself is what you want. Do you want it to be easy, and follow the path to be well-worn? Or do you want the road to be yours? It is better to know that inside you is a natural resource that you can reach into and grab. And that it will be there at the moment you most need it.

You have to know what type of person you are. If you are crazy enough to think you can change the world, you have to be willing to walk the path less traveled, the one that does not exist. You have to be able to tread through the brambles. And be willing to fall because it is throughout that process of failure, pain, agony, and suffering that you will become the person you dream to be.

Therefore, it is the process that will make you, you and what will shape you. And it is that suffering which gives you the reserve to draw on when you need it the most. However, when you ask for safety and ease, know that you say a prayer for weakness.

Walk your Own Path
But when you take the hard way, know that you are forging yourself. When you make those demands, know that you are building a reserve tank that will be there when you need it. And when you walk the path that only you can walk, know that you are living the life you are meant to live.

And that is how you become the 'you' worth becoming and change the world. It is what happened to me. So, be crazy enough and do not be afraid to stand by yourself. Do not just use your talents and abilities only for your own success. But make a difference with them. Do something of significance.

As a result, when you put all of those things together, it just causes you not to accept the status quo. The choice to be the person you want to be is all yours. Your inner power bubbles within. It waits to come up and explode, and nourish the world with changes.

Know you Can Change the World
Down the road, many years from now, you will be more disappointed in the chances that you never took than the ones you actually did. So, do not be afraid to simply take a leap of faith. Leave the shore, sail away from your comfort zone, discover the unknown and live your life.

As you know, we all have a limited time on earth. So, you do not need to live your life according to the views of others. Do not let people's beliefs take over the inner voice of your heart and soul. Be bold enough to follow your gut. And be crazy enough to think you can change the world, and then you will!

Share Your Talent With the World

Woman Wearing Black Sports Bra and Jogger Shorts Smiling

Share your talent with the world. Don't be timid or selfish. Be bold and daring with your talent--all of it.

Fear is a threshold you must overcome. We need your talent in the world, now. Why are you stalling?

We depreciate ourselves during our creative process; yes, we all go through this sporadically while we are developing our dreams into reality.

Artists, writers, photographers, authors, speakers, farmers, business owners, musicians, scientists, gardeners, dancers, singers, actors, chefs, athletes, filmmakers, comedians, and in every field people are striving to make things better, to find an improvement, to make things unique, to change outcomes, to offer loftier products and services, and to turn the world into a more hopeful place.

In addition, everyone has a level of doubt about his or her work at times.

Writers, poets, and authors do not stop writing because previous talented authors such as Jack London (journalist and author), William Wordsworth (English poet), and Henry David Thoreau (author), were already discovered.

Artists and photographers do not put away their tools because Frederic Edwin Church (Hudson River School artist), and Ansel Adams (photographer), were already well-known as the pinnacle in their field of expertise.

Athletes train to exceed the current standard of performance and to surpass their own as we noticed with sisters Venus and Serena Williams, both ranked number one during their tennis careers at times.

Michelangelo did not begin painting the Sistine Chapel on his primary attempt; he had a lifetime of artistic skills developed through commissioned work he produced over his career.

Yes, superstars are intimidating; they set the gold standard in their industry for all of us to challenge ourselves and one another in becoming a sterling example of creativity and proficiency in our field.

On occasion, some people seem to have genes that come with a high level of expertise and skills already built-in, a prodigy or teens with awesome talent. Generally, this is not the course of progress.

The reality is once you master one level of skills in your field, you long for a greater level and a more proficient way to perform. Goals are reachable, then we struggle to attain and achieve even more. A level of enthusiasm and momentum grows with each success.

Once we build a foundation, a level of confidence develops through 'wins' both minimal and great.

Do not hesitate to create your ideas. The time is now. You will change the world in a positive form that is unique with your creative viewpoint. Share your talent with the world - all of it; we are awaiting your creative ideas to make the world a more hopeful place.

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, then go, and do that. Because what the world needs are people who have come alive." --Howard Thurman.

If You Want To Change The World, Start With Yourself First.

Attend To Your Own Personal Development

It was the American author and speaker John C. Maxwell who wrote: "Most people want to change the world to improve their lives, but the world they need to change first is the one inside themselves."

Everyone has an opinion on what is wrong with the world, yet few will do the work to improve their own lives.

It is easy to draw attention to what is wrong because on one level it is frustrating to observe these conditions and stand back while they take place.

I often remind myself and others, the world has existed for 4.54 billion years and is much older and wiser than us.

We have existed for an insignificant extent in that timeline and conditions weren't always ideal, in fact history shows conditions to be less than idyllic.

So, a Utopian paradise needn't exist for us to be happy. We can still thrive despite the unrest in the world because outside conditions aren't as bad as you believe them to be.

If you want to change reality start with yourself first and attend to your own personal development. In doing so, problems give way to solutions and will no longer affect you.

Author Larry Weidel writes in Serial Winner: 5 Actions to Create Your Cycle of Success: "If we all live the richest life possible, it's personally fulfilling, but it also changes the world."

Raise Your Level Of Consciousness

Most people are frustrated or angry with circumstances beyond their control. They believe if they can control these situations they will be happy.

Sometimes it is not possible since there are too many things to control. It requires redesigning your life to suit you, or playing God, neither of which are possible.

It is simpler to attend to your own personal development. So when you feel frustrated, angry or any other disempowering state, become curious and work on that part of you that is at war with reality.

It is futile trying to change conditions out there because life is constantly changing. It is like trying to keep plates spinning on a stick while more plates are added. You cannot keep up and they will eventually come crashing down.

It makes sense to
work on yourself so that outside conditions no longer affect you as they once did. This is the key to enlightenment, raising your level of consciousness so you transcend problems with a higher awareness.

Albert Einstein recognised this principle when he said: "We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."

Consider the following example, highlighting why you must attend to your own personal growth if you want to change the world.

Imagine 100 people who constantly complain about the state of the world. One day they collectively decide they've had enough and undertake personal development to change their focus.

Within months, they have stopped whining and are now open to life instead of being mired in their problems. They act from a place of love, peace and joy.

You've heard it said, you are the sum of the five people you most associate with. Therefore, if 100 people can influence five others, we now have 500 people who are now more self-aware than before. If that cycle continues, a tipping point will occur so that anger and fear no longer prevail.

Now I am not naïve and know this Utopian reality will not miraculously emerge overnight if at all within the coming decade. Yet, undertaking personal development will not only help you, but influence those around you.

I have seen evidence of this with my family and friends and those I've coached. You change the world not by pointing out what is wrong with it, but by upgrading your model of reality to coincide with what you wish to see in the world.

It's an inside-out job.

"You don't have to change the world. You just have to change what you pay attention to in the world. And that, it turns out, is hugely powerful," affirms Vishen Lakhiani in The Code of the Extraordinary Mind: 10 Unconventional Laws to Redefine Your Life and Succeed On Your Own Terms.

Upgrade Your Model Of Reality

It was the late Dr Wayne Dyer, a well-known self-help author who said: "If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change." He knew change must take place within and has a ripple effect in the lives of others. If that change is powerful enough, it will gather momentum to affect the whole of humanity.

I admit, it is difficult to focus on what is right in the world when we are governed by our internal state which gets the better of us. The media add to the negativity by reporting bad news to promote fear, and it becomes challenging to break the spell.

I often succumb to these disempowering states at times, so it is remiss of me to offer the advice and claim not to feel this way.

Yet, through my own personal development, I've come to appreciate these are fleeting states and I don't remain stuck in these conditions for long. Awareness has taught me that what I focus on builds momentum and becomes integrated into my reality.

So the advice is clear and simple: be aware when you are pointing the finger outside of you. Go within and attend to that part of you that is inclined to judge outside circumstances are bad.

Heal yourself first by integrating your shadow self and be mindful of your thoughts leading you down a path of negativity. If you do this often, you will break the cycle of incessant thinking that dictates there is something wrong with the world. It is worth the effort to your personal growth.

Eventually, problems that once consumed you will no longer affect you because you have upgraded your model of reality to coincide with a new awareness.

Message From the Universe: I Am by Your Side

"Of all your enumerable friends, not one of them loves you more than I love you, right this very moment.

Xxxxoooo,
The Universe"

At least you are being loved right? In this very large Universe of ours, and that does not include the Multiverse theory which might, possibly, have parallel Universes out there, we feel like totally alone among the 7.1 billion people sharing planet Earth. It can be difficult to comprehend how can we have impact among people in our direct environment. We all have a big impact, even though we may feel small or insignificant. If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito in the room. If you don't think that is true, then what is? We all have somewhat of an impact on people's live, even if it feels like we do not. Every of our actions, our behavior, our attitude, our participation, our generosity, and everything else you can do to change the world will make a difference. Never underestimate yourself. You are definitely making a change.

It can be hard to track who reads your blog or posts you write every single day, in a regular and constant basis. I write because it is therapeutic and it helps me cope with my own personal problems and potentially helps someone else living a similar situation as me. I do not write just because I know how many readers will follow me or comment on my post. That is irrelevant to me and should be for you as well.

Regardless if people read your post or not, sharing your knowledge is something that you should do and put it out there for someone to read. You are using your blog to express yourself and if it can help others, that is a great benefit. It doesn't matter if you have 100 likes or 1 like, what matters is exposing your talents and sharing for the greater good of society. You are not being judged by the amount of likes but preferably by the quality of your post. Never compare yourself to other posts that have 1000 likes but no depth or quality in the content. Most readers are interested in drama and stupidity. You want to attract the real readers. That's what counts after all.

You are being loved by the people that count, and not for the quantity, but the quality.

Message From the Universe: Waiting for the PERFECT Moment! There Is Never ANY!

"Did you know that if you can see a cloud, it can see you?

Same for trees.

And beauty.

Tallyho,
The Universe"

So much beauty around us but we fail to just stop what we are doing and start enjoying what is around us. We all have a focus in life, but while we try to understand our mission, our journey in life, we fail miserably in doing the thing we enjoy. We go with: " When I get the right job, I will be able to take advantage of life" or " when my business succeeds, I will have more money to enjoy life" or whatever else that crosses your mind when waiting for that perfect moment to do understand your purpose. I will need to be clear with you on something. There is NEVER a perfect moment, a perfect time, a perfect job, a perfect business, a perfect relationship, a perfect anything. There is NEVER that. You need to have faith that everything you do today will have great impact in how you live your life tomorrow. We all rely on faith that things should change for the better, because I trust God that it will. So what is faith? "It is the acceptance of which we imagine to be true, that which we cannot prove". You can't really prove that having faith in something will render the wishes and hopes that it will come true. The belief that you have towards the power from above is what keeps you on moving forward, and never waiting on that perfect moment to act. Life is so fragile, filled with uncertainties. You, me or nobody else can predict your future or how it will turn out. The only thing you can do NOW is to live your life NOW. We are running away and towards something, not really knowing exactly what it is. We fight in wars, in battles that are never really won because of all the destruction that is left behind. The world is NOT ours, we haven't built it. It came to us as a blessing, as a property that we rent, but do not own. We took what was given to us and added what we felt could change the world. Yes, it did change it, but do you think for the better? The Garden of Eden was already paradise, but because of the presence of humans, we created some kind of hell that we all are facing its repercussion. We need to all make a change, to start realizing that change is imminent before it is too late.

Environmental factors have a detrimental effect on us, human beings. We don't realize it because we go on our day without realizing that we are controlled, just like RC cars or airplanes. We are the receiver and someone is playing with the transmitter of that RC gadget. We need to change the frequency so we can detach ourselves from what I think can be destruction of human kind. There is something happening and it is not looking great for any of us. Opening our eyes is crucial to understand our environment and taking action. It is important that we take control of our own future because if we let it go as it is and not do anything about it, there will be severe consequences. It is a combination of what you see in the news (with terrorism as being a stepping stone to what can be worst and more damaging) because terrorism is just a way for us NOT to focus on what is going internally, in OUR country. They are keeping our mind busy with something else that will change our world as we see it. Time will tell! We just need to be ready for something that will shake everyone right deep in our soul.

Let's Change The World

Woman Wearing Pink Floral Sleeveless Romper Sitting on Gray Concrete Holding Earth Globe
The world is changing and the speed of changes is increasing every day. With the enormous flow of information and spread of knowledge is changing our society and our lives in an amazing way. Governments and organizations can no longer thrive in secrecy. Today everything is visible and everything can come to the light of day.

In today's society we have more opportunities and possibilities than ever before and our presence, knowledge and influences can have such an amazing impact on the world. Today we can share our knowledge and experience in so many ways. We can easily share it on social media, through status updates, articles, videos and more. We can so easily start a blog, a website, have newsletters and webinars to educate the world.

We can all become a role model for others and having a role model is very important. Having a role model, guide or a mentor that can show us the way to learn new things, how to improve our lives and how to become all that we could ever want to become. Success lies in education, learning new ways to be and do things. Some traditions are good but some are old and outdated. We often need to learn a new way to think to be able to grow into the person we want to be.

We all have the power to change and we all have the power to make an enormous impact on the world. Becoming a good role model and helping others achieve their dreams, helping others make their desire become a reality is something we should all strive for. We all have some unique experience that can help others see a new possibility.

Teamwork is the key to a better society and a better world. When we have found our speciality we should do our best to share what we have, what we have learned from life. There are people who are looking for information and knowledge that can help them take life to the next level. They are searching for something but often do not know exactly what they are looking for.

If we are visible, if we go out there and tell the world what we have to offer, someone, somewhere will tune into what we have. There have been great leaders that have changed and created a new vision for the world. They have impacted and improved the lives of so many just by speaking their truth.

The old Greek philosophers like Socrates, Plato and Aristotle that are still remembered and talked about today had something new to offer. In my childhood I looked up to people like Gandhi, Martin Luther King and Dalai Lama. The life and inventions of Nikola Tesla inspired me more than even I can imagine. They shaped me and affected me in so many ways. In more modern times I have gotten influence from Jim Rohn, Toni Robbins, Darren Hardy and other great speakers. We have Gary Vaynerchuk, a great leader who is sharing so much knowledge and helping people realise their own power.

They were all regular people like you and me. Still they believed and believe in something bigger. Their vision was so strong and there would be nothing that would stop them from speaking the truth. Galileo stated that the world was round and not flat, he could have withdrawn his claims to save his life but chose death instead. Speaking the truth may not always be popular but we need to speak the truth and we need to seek the truth. Some truths may not always be what we want to hear but the truth is always the best information we get for the long term.

For us who have found the truth or a truth, it does not matter how many people listen or believe what we are saying but we need to stay true to who we are and our vision of the world as we are all different individuals, there is someone out there who is looking for exactly what we are sharing.

We all have the power to improve and change the world. Many of us have been silenced and taught to obey, to speak and do what we were taught to speak and do. We all have our unique talents and vision. We all have something extraordinary to share with the world.

The question may arise that the world would become very loud if everybody would start sharing their own truth but that is and will not be the case. We know that as we are different individuals, there are leaders and there are followers. I am urging all humankind to follow their own truth and stay true to who they are but there will only be a certain few who will rise up in public to share the knowledge they have found.

We should support and urge the leaders in our midst to stand up and teach, preach. Then we have the followers who share their passion and will learn and apply it to their lives. The followers in their turn will lead a life that will impact the ones they are closest to. The leaders will create big ripples and the followers will create smaller ripples but every ripple is important.

We can see this as the world in whole. First we have our beautiful earth, then we have our continents. We have many countries in every continent and in every country we have many cities and towns. Some people will have the big role and their audience is maybe millions of people. Some have hundreds of thousands, some have tens of thousands, some have hundreds and some have a dozen.

We all have the power to impact the world in a positive way, we should all share the information we have gathered, share the knowledge we have learned to help others improve their way of life. Nothing is impossible and we are all extraordinary. As Dalai Lama said once "If you think you are too small to make an impact, try sleeping in a tent while there is a mosquito in there".

We should all rise to the occasion and be apart of this global change and help make the world a better place through teamwork.

Take care my beautiful friends and I am looking forward to hearing from you speaking and living in a way that has a positive impact on others.

Use Your Story to Light a Fire and Change the World

Whenever I’m feeling particularly uninspired or low, one of my favorite activities is to read the biography of someone famous and look for the part of their life story where they had struggled. I find that I learn a lot more from a person’s low points—my own included—rather than a highlight reel of their greatest achievements.
I’m deeply curious about how people reengage with life after a difficult, traumatic, or tragic event. How did they get back on the horse? In what ways did they succeed? What did they do that was “unsuccessful?” (Quick tangent: the word “fail” should be replaced in the English language with “lesson I learned on my way to success.”)
“If that woman can overcome her paraplegia to become a famous painter by using her teeth, then holy cow, I can do just about anything!”
“That guy lost his wife and daughter in a car accident and fell into tremendous grief, but then rebounded, found love again, and became the Vice President of the United States. If he can keep fighting on then, oh snap, I can keep on fighting, too.”
When people give of themselves through the telling of their stories it makes the seemingly impossible in our lives tangible and attainable.
According to Annie Murphy Paul, author of Brilliant: The New Science of Smart, when we listen to stories, more of the brain lights up, “Stories cause your neurons to fire the same way they would if you were doing the actual action talked about. For example, if you were listening to someone talk about kicking a ball, the motor part of the brain that would help you kick a ball in real life lights up.”
In fact, in his “Scientific American” article Jeremy Hsu found that: “Personal stories and gossip make up 65% of our conversations. “Now, whenever we hear a story, we want to relate it to one of our existing experiences. That’s why metaphors work so well with us. Whilst we are busy searching for a similar experience in our brains, we activate a part called insula, which helps us relate to that same experience of pain, joy, disgust or else.”
We can use this storytelling connection and sharing our souls, in an effort to leverage the story into having the listener take action.
When someone talks about their recovery story or healing story, or how they got help—the brain, in some way, begins to fire up with the possibility that they could take the same or similar action of the storyteller: healing, recovery, or getting help.
Of course there are lots of ways to tell a story, and an even greater amount of desired outcomes. But everyone has an important story to tell, whether or not they yet know how to tell it. And you have an important story to tell as well. And sometimes a story is not told through words but by the actions one takes and the life they lead.

‘How to Discover a Secretly Incredible Life in an Ordinary World’

Best-selling author Bob Goff’s 4 tips to get to the ‘do’ part of life.

“Love is never stationary. Love doesn’t just keep thinking about it or keep planning for it. Simply put, love does.”
It is a good philosophy, getting to the “do” part of life, isn’t it? It’s inspiring, it’s down to earth, and it belongs to Bob Goff. It drives his vision and his purpose.
Bob Goff lives to help, to love, others. He wrote the best-selling book Love Does in 2012, in which he printed his private cell phone number at the end of the book and gave away all of the proceeds, too. He is an attorney and the founder of Restore International, a nonprofit human rights organization, which, so far in its fight for freedom and educational opportunities, has brought more than 200 cases to trial, pursuing justice, intervention and education for at-risk women and children in Uganda, India and Somalia.
If you want to change the world, or change your way of “doing” things, Goff has many suggestions. Here are just a few of them, four ways to live an incredible life in an ordinary world:

1. Find your purpose.

Goff doesn’t get caught up making life decisions, big or small. Why? It’s so much easier to make decisions when you know your purpose and it’s at the front of your mind—and his is clear. His purpose, something he can sum up in just two words, guides all of his decisions. A clear purpose provides direction and, simply makes things simpler.
“It isn’t this big cosmic purpose—it’s just to love people,” he says.
Of everything he does, he asks, What’s going to help me get to my purpose? If it doesn’t further his purpose, he stops doing it. In fact, Goff quits something in his life every Thursday—anything that doesn’t line up with what he loves to do most or how he plans to make a mark on the world.

2. Cultivate change.

Another reason Goff quits things is because he loves to cultivate change—he wants to grow as a person, and keep growing, and he does that by constantly changing things up. Which explains why, for 30 years, his law firm, Goff & DeWalt, dissolved at year’s end; it was all over on Dec. 31.
“We blew up the law firm every single year for three decades,” he says. “And it was beautiful, because about Jan. 3, people would come back and I’m out of work, they’re out of work, we’re all out of work. We would just decide, Do we want to do this again? And we would know why we were doing it.”

3. Focus on relationships.

We’ve all heard that we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with, but Goff has a different approach. He focuses instead on the eight people who truly matter most to him, to his life.
“I’m trying to surround myself during my life with the eight people I’d surround my bed with on my death,” he says. “Your eight will change, but just figure out who those important people are and surround yourself.”
The closest, for him, is his wife, whom he calls Sweet Maria. He schedules speaking engagements in order to fly home every evening for dinner. Inefficient? Maybe, but that doesn’t bother him.
“I’m not trying to be efficient; I’m trying to be present,” he says.

4. Build your legacy.

Sometimes Goff carries an empty bucket with him—as a physical reminder to practice patience. When asked about the 30 years it took to start and grow his law firm, he quotes the famous line, “The harder I worked, the luckier I got.” But to him, hard work is not about busyness or being busy—it’s about being “full.”
“The idea is that whatever you fill your bucket with, you’ll turn into,” he says. “Instead of picking your career and backfilling your life behind that, what if you pick your life and backfill your career with whatever is left over?”
So what does Bob Goff fill his bucket with? Things that last.
“I’m not measuring who I am and what I’m about, but whether it works or not—I’m just gonna go, Does it last or not?
