Two Woman Chatting

Motivation may get you started, but when it comes to achieving a goal and sustaining the results, you need to rely on more than just your desire to succeed.

In a study about goal achievement conducted by Psychology professor Dr. Gail Matthews from Dominican University in California, the results showed that people who wrote down their goals, shared this information with a friend, and sent them weekly updates were on average 33% more successful in accomplishing their stated goals than those who merely formulated them.

It's clearly not enough to make a declaration about what you are going to do. You have to put in the work, face the possibly of making a few sacrifices and develop a plan. Yes, we can make vision boards, create daily journals or recite positive affirmations but accountability is the only way you will go the extra mile to turn an aspiration into an accomplishment.

Accountability partners serve as confidants, motivators and serve as a means to keep you in check. By arming yourself with the right people in your corner, it totally increases your level of commitment, motivation and help see you through the tough times.

Your Accountability Partner:

1. Will be your biggest cheerleader

Accountability Partners are steadfast motivators. There will be days when your motivation and mental strength will be tested and the excitement you once felt starts to wane. It's on these days that your accountability partner will be your biggest cheerleader by being the one to say 'Yes you Can' on the days when you don't feel like you can continue. They can remind you of what you have accomplished and help keep your goals in sight as you work to make them become a reality.

2. Will challenge you to make what seems 'impossible' possible

We make sure to select accountability partners that understand your goals, and are willing to push you out of your comfort zone. There may be times when you feel apprehensive about taking a risk or your limiting beliefs cast doubt about your potential. These are the times when an accountability partner can help you push through the anxiety and realize that the obstacles that we perceive as mountains are merely bumps along the path.

3. Will celebrate every milestone on your journey no matter how small

During the quest to accomplish a goal, we often get caught in thinking about how far we have left to go rather than how much we have already accomplished. How often do you stop to celebrate your milestones? Your accountability partner keeps your progress in perspective by giving you a pat on the back when you need it and helps you to remember that the journey is just as important as the destination.

4. They will make sure that your goal remains a priority

Once you have a partner to keep you accountable, you will think again about abandoning your goals at the first sign of trouble. In addition to their roles as motivators and cheerleaders, your accountability partner wants to see you succeed.

We make sure to select likeminded women

that won't allow you to give up easily and will help you stay on course. Even when you may feel distracted, you will have the added comfort of knowing you have someone in your corner to bring you back on track.

5. They prove that you don't have to do it alone

One of the greatest benefits of having an accountability partner is the feeling that you will never walk your journey alone. There will always be someone in your corner to help motivate you, dispel your fears or even give you a reality check when you need it. Working towards a goal becomes a team effort instead of a solo one which may help lessen the fear of the unknown.

The Mind of A Champion

What does it take to be a champion, an indisputable winner; what makes them different? You may imagine its extraordinary talent, and sometimes it is, but the reality is extraordinary talent is a rarity. It takes something beyond average and far more than mediocrity to be a champion. It takes perseverance; perseverance always prevails.

This phenomenon requires an attitude that refuses to accept defeat. Champions always get back up, no matter how long or hard they fall. Quitting, giving up or in and letting go are never a consideration in the mind of a champion. They understand that in life you will find a way or find an excuse. Champions never own a 'loser's limp' bag, they offer no excuses because they fail to recognize a loss. Champions understand that a perceived failure is a mere testing of faith; they will reach the goal. They carry the illusion of defeat straight to the next win.

Champions understand that in life one cannot be poor who has less, only those who desire more. They rarely bother to assess or compare their talent; their attention is focused squarely on achieving the goal. They don't need a handicap when tallying their score, understanding that handicaps exist only in the mind. You can't accept the things you can't see. Champions know that 'the me is see is the me I will be.' They are careful to see what they want to be and not what others think they are or can become.

Who are the champions? They are all around you. It may be difficult to recognize them because you don't know or understand their goals. The best way to identify them is in their refusal to give up or give in. Look for the ones who seem to be extremely tested yet refuse to give up. Champions always exhibit persistence; a determination to succeed, they persevere no matter the difficulty. The one who refuses to give up always prevails.

While it may seem that champions are called upon to let go of a lot, they understand that real security lies not in what they have but in what they can do without. In the end is it always worth it to them because they never gave up and never gave in; they simply refused to accept defeat. That's how they became a champion; this is the mind of a champion.

If you want to join this elite group you must get inside the mind of a champion and think like them. Persist, persevere and prevail. There is a raging fire within champions that propels them to press on, press on, press on.

Create Your Own Happy Destiny, Let These Tips Teach You How!

Being truly happy in life is something everyone wants, but due to how busy our world has become, we forget about what true happiness is. Lately, we've been revolving too much on material things, thinking that getting the latest gadget or the nicest clothes are what can make us happy.
We forget about spending time with our loved ones, about enjoying the untouched beauty of nature and the outdoors, making other people smile... these simple things that give us the feeling of accomplishment, of self-worth, and of course, of happiness.
If we get too absorbed with gadgets, fashion, trends, and all that stuff that usually just provides temporary happiness, we lose track of creating our own happy destiny. That being said, allow us to help you get back on track towards your happy destiny through these tips:
Most of us think that happiness springs from achieving a goal or getting rewards, but researches from a Swedish university Gothenburg University indicate that these only provide a temporary high. After the initial excitement of winning or attaining something, we shortly go back to being unsatisfied and sometimes even unhappy. That being, what does make people happy? The Gothenburg University researchers found that it's putting a lot of effort and working hard is what make people feel happier and more fulfilled. Despite how hard work is usually associated with stress and therefore unhappiness, it feels a lot more rewarding achieving something through hard work than from taking the easy way in. Dr. Bengt Bruelde, lead researcher in this study, even stated that 'People who were most active got the most joy. It may sound tempting to relax on a beach, but if you do it for too long, it stops being satisfying.' That being said, never let mediocrity tempt you into doing things the easy way, you'll find happiness by working hard!

United Healthcare once did a study on people who did volunteer work for just a few hours every week. Now, there are people who have the passion for volunteering, others may think it's too much effort and time consuming. To those of you who don't volunteer, the United Healthcare research actually found their participants to be 73% less stressed, and 96% happier. Certain psychologists have come around calling this feeling the 'helper's high', a kind of happiness once feels when they know they have helped someone else. Another scientific explanation behind this is when you do a good deed, mood-boosting chemicals called oxytocin and dopamine are released into your system. Want to increase your chances of having a happy destiny? You can start by being open to helping others out, whether it be a friend, a family member, or even a total stranger!

To have a happy destiny you also need to make time for going out into the outdoors, more specifically somewhere where you are surrounded by nature. This is most important for people who live in highly urbanised areas and are constantly surrounded by the stresses of city life. A study from the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health published in 2009 even indicated that the closer one lives with nature, the healthier and happier they are. They studied medical records of 345,143 Dutch people, some who lived near nature or a green space and some who lived further away. They found that people who lived closer are less susceptible to depression and anxiety, while these were more prevalent in people who lived further away from any form of nature. If you don't want to become one of the latter category of people, try going out more into greener environments and leaving all the city business behind! Better yet, you can start living in a place much closer to any form of beautiful greenery, such as a park.
Work hard, help others, and immerse yourself in nature every once in a while, these are only three examples of what you can do to reach a happy destiny. There are plenty other things you can do, but you can start off with these first!
