Acres Of Recycling Plastic And Aluminum, Acres Of Diamonds

Riches are found sometimes in the most unlikeliest of places, and wealth creation is sometimes dressed up in work boots disguised as lowly "meaningless stuff". Nevertheless, there is always gold and riches if you look for them anywhere regardless of where it may hide.

What do you think of when you think of riches? I feel that is an appropriate question to start this article off with, because, stereotypical riches are "easy" to come by like lottery winnings or a legal stock market win in a good market. But the real riches are something you have to look for. What I mean is for example: when Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak or Mark Zuckerberg got into computers they were not considered serious networking tools, or communication devices, they were toys. Remember Nolan Bushnell and the Atari gaming systems, Bally Games or Sega Games or the Pac-Man video games years ago. What happened to this perception of computers, those guys like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Mark Zuckerberg looked for the wealth potential in the toys and "trivial things" and made them into riches instead of waiting for the idea to come to them. I say all this not out of envy or "look at them", but I say in understanding: Riches come in the form of insignificance, "toys" or silly seeming nothing in their rough form. Look at the old Russell Herman Conwell essay "Acres of Diamonds", the farmer Ali Hafez thought that his diamonds were just rocks in the creek bed, and look what he was really sitting on if he looked a little more into it. On the other hand, the eighteenth century railroad magnate James Jerome Hill built a fortune on this principle in the cold, "valueless" Northwest region of North America near Canada if you look deep into the old encyclopedias and history books. So, think about that fact for a moment, before you make fun of the "stupid guy" or "silly gal" looking for that wealth in the impossible, think for a moment what they really could be doing, and get a niche or unique value yourself!

Indeed, I will make this statement and it will sound silly until you really think about it: All real opportunity is really recycling, right down to Alexander Graham Bell turning the screw and making speech possible on the phone where the other inventors could only sing on the phone like a toy microphone at best. I am not only saying be alert, but be deeply realistic in an abstract way that works to make you rich ultimately. "The town weird person" at first, great and prosperous later. It is all application and understanding that makes it anyway, regardless of the realities "normally perceived". If you want greater than normal results, you have to be abnormally creative. If you listen and perceive hard enough, your answer could be blowing in the wind, and look! "X" marks the spot where you least expect it.

Dealing With Reality

woman sitting on rocky mountain during daytime

We all want to win, but we all need to train for it. That is reality. Without real, hard earned understanding, we just hack at life and cannot live efficiently. When we take the time to learn the in, out and everything in life, we get better results. It is just like when there is a difference between flying to the top of a mountain in a helicopter, plane or air vessel and genuinely climbing a mountain.

When I think about the genuine nature of reality, genuine winners genuinely do not try to cheat. I use the words "try to cheat", because ultimately the very concept of cheating is unrealistic, and ultimately harder than if the honest path were taken to the same goals. Honest "overnight greatness and success" is years of visualization, training and understanding all facets of what is being done. If anyone says otherwise, they are cheating at a very deep level, not only themselves, but the people they are telling that big lie to. It is almost like the concept of the payday loan saying "get three months pay now" without the full disclosure of "get three months pay now, but pay three years pay worth of interest on it" at the very least! So, get this: Cheating is the big fantasy trip, dealing with reality fully straight is the genuinely winning trip anyway. If you travel the real road, you will achieve your genuine goal. Fake it genuinely and you will not make it.

Being real is always worth it, then is it not? A life based on lying and cheating at deep levels always costs more anyway ultimately. Real is the most direct path there is to any goal. It is the genuine journey of the hero, anyway. Reality will deal with you on this level: If you are genuinely willing to take the honest path, reality will rise up to meet you as you meet that challenge. When I say willing as a word, I mean wanting your goal and working your goal so fully and so consistently, with perseverance, that nothing will break you from going for it.

So, in the end, every limitation disengaged and you have fully evolved past it all, were you real or were you a cheater? only your heart and reality can answer that itself within yourself when you face yourself. Think about it. Only you can answer that question genuinely for yourself when you are evolved enough, nobody else can.

Where The Greatest Of All Results Comes From

Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali said and meant that he was the greatest. Well, the results we make start with that thought even if we do temporarily fail at times, and ultimately succeed. Success is created really, not born. Luck and good fortune at first are usually born, but genuine success genuinely takes skill and temporary experiment, seeming failure, and much understanding from those two things called temporary experiment and seeming failure.

It always has to start somewhere, originates with us and we always have a chance if we genuinely look for it and seek it. Our genuine achievements are the natural order of things when we really want them.

The greatest thing in existence then is certainty of understanding and repeatable success. To genuinely quit and say "impossible" is genuine failure.

We cannot wait for the world and existence to change toward us, we must do what we need and want to do to get our results. Every dollar we really will really ever earn, rich or poor comes from our efforts and our initiative. I did not say "given", but I did say and mean "earned".

One of the positive leadership secrets of Julius Caesar: He once came to an island he conquered with his army by boats. He took all of the equipment and flags off the boats, burned the boats and said something to the effect of "we win or we die and perish". The army of Julius Caesar won big against a bigger army, because they had more to fight for.

I suggest if you really want something, you or anyone should burn all bridges, ships or ways out to genuinely win ultimately. Let the reality of rational risk galvanize you. Win or die should be the mentality if you really want something anyhow. Without that "killer instinct", you are a loser even if you "win by luck" or "lose permanently without a fight". After all, a few hundred years after that island conquering Julius Caesar did, and in the twilight of the Roman Empire, and during the early rise of Christianity, martyrs like Saint Stephen and Saint Simon the Zealot when asked the question doing their own bridge, ship and escape burning so they would do nothing but the right thing to make them succeed with the causes they wanted and needed to put forth, said and meant something to the effect of "Render unto Caesar what belongs to Caesar, render unto Christ what belongs to the Christ."

The greatest of all results comes from that courage to take action and fully succeed without compromise.

Are You Doing Great in Life? If Not, Read This (By Dorothy M. Neddermeyer, PhD )

Because you are reading this article, you are moving towards your ultimate goals and life's purpose. Something 96% of people struggle to do.

Congratulations! You're on a good path-keep reading, you will be glad you did.

Because I truly want you to win, I want you to know every time you buy a personal development product... a book... or a coaching session, you are making a bet on yourself and your ability to live your dreams.

My win/win goal is to help your bet pay off.

Simple... and it is easier than you think!!

The sad truth is, many people (by definition) fail to bet any better than 'average.'

Approximately half the people on the planet are chronically below average-i.e. below average income, average debt of $15,000, average relationships and mediocre life satisfaction and health.

Average is mundane and discouraging. And then, people are desperate and compelled to take anti-depressants to cope.

It's one of the reasons I dedicated my life to live an exceptional life and to help others do the same. No one aspires to spend their life feeling average-no one.

I know you desire to feel Amazing, Strong, Capable, and Fulfilled.

I am here only to be truly helpful. I know you can earn and deserve the respect of many and live the life you desire.

You can live life as a high-energy, in-your-face statement of what's possible for humanity.

And you know what?

Negative thoughts creep into your mind without you even realizing it. Why because nearly everyone around you are verbalizing negative thoughts and as the cliché goes, 'monkey hear, monkey do.'

Even in the throes of incredible success negative thoughts pop up. Here are some of the negative thoughts I hear people saying.

· "I'm too old to make an impact."

· "I can't create anything at my age."

· "I am so far behind where I could be-I couldn't catch up."

· "The rich get richer and the poor get poorer."

· "I've done my best, and still can't get ahead."

· "This is just my lot in life."

· "It's God's will."

· "If I was supposed to have a better life, God would have given it to me."

Yes, even people who have it all-have negative thoughts.

Do you know what they do next?

He/she rejects the negative thoughts from their head like a CD with a scratch on it.

It's not a violent process when people who have it all have a negative thought. Instead it's a gentle "No thanks-not in my life."

Your subconscious mind is your greatest defense against invading limiting beliefs. Your subconscious mind holds all memory about all experiences, all truth and all answers to all your needs and questions. The conscious mind (ego) or unconscious mind is the source of those nasty beliefs that you have held onto for a long time.

As we have come to know, "We are our own worst enemy."

It really matters, that you know your subconscious mind is on your side.

Therefore, when you're about to ask for a raise... sitting outside your boss's office if you feel nervous, then you bet it'll matter whether your subconscious mind is at the meeting.

When you're about to take a chance and launch a business... and your past failure floods your mind with fear... you bet it will matter that your subconscious mind holds all answers to all your questions and concerns!

And if your car breaks down, your plumbing fails, or if there are circumstances beyond your control you need to allow your subconscious mind to give you direction. Or else you're in for a stressful ride! And I know you have had a few stressful rides, and you know people who have stressful rides.

You may have heard that life is 10% what transpires and 90% how you react or respond to it.

Well... when something goes awry, you don't have the time to consciously choose how to react or respond-you need to have a close and personal relationship with your subconscious mind to allow your subconscious mind to take over.

Your subconscious mind is connected to the universal knowledge and can react automatically with precision. Notably, you have heard many instances when people have experienced something that on the face of it, they would be dead. In that instance, it is considered a miracle. The truth is, the person's subconscious mind automatically directed the outcome.

The worse the situation is, the more your pre-conditioned responses take over, which may not be the best course of action or your subconscious mind, automatically takes over and the outcome is the best possible scenario.

So... how do you want your subconscious mind to be on duty 24/7?

What do you want to create for yourself?

If you have one or more unconscious beliefs, emotional or mental blocks, negative patterns or a frustration you can't quite place... then you need to clear the blocks and become the master of your mind-quieting the ego and unconscious mind and allowing the subconscious mind to be in the driver's seat.

When you are the master of your mind you will quickly find that you have a refuge or victim inside.

You can learn to install an ever-vigilant mental bodyguard to protect against negativity.

And you'll rest easier as you remember that your subconscious mind is in control. And you will feel totally safe. Totally secure.

Are you ready to recapture that mental power starting now?

If you are, let me be your best expert on the planet to install healthy new perspectives in your mind.

You owe yourself a chance to discover the latest, most reliable strategies for taking control of your inner voice, the inner voice that heretofore, has been blocked by the ego (conscious) and unconscious indoctrinations and conditioning.

This moment is the first moment of the rest of your life.

Are you willing to take the action required to claim your happiness, success, fulfillment, and enlightenment? Will you take advantage of the opportunity to create a new reality for your life?

It's time to SHIFT and get prepared for what's coming up for your life... so I want you to put your heart and soul into paying close attention to how much mental, emotional and physical pain you are in. Then, step by step you can make the SHIFT gently, easily, and without having to deal with the mental and emotional pain and stress of not knowing what to do, not feeling your best, and all the other OLD WAYS that are holding you back.

Remember you might need to ask for assistance.

Here's to living your best life NOW.

There is no shame in asking for assistance to create happiness and success. If you have read the books, taken workshops, had psychic readings, taken prescriptions and OTC drugs etc. and still struggle; you might have emotional blocks preventing you from moving into your happiness and desires.

This is an investment in your health, happiness, success, fulfillment, and enlightenment. Following the principles in this process will change your life forever and I want you to experience it yourself as soon as possible. Fear Doesn't Get to Win, and Pain Is Only Temporary (By Julie Martino)

Let me start by saying I've been called psycho or crazy for my radical beliefs all my life. So, if you feel you need to join the ranks of those who say such things, good for you - but they aren't going to upset or affect me. My words are for those who understand and need to hear what I'm saying.

I've lived through basically everything. In one form or another, I've experienced it all. I've been the misfit in the back of the room hoping no one notices me. I've been the popular leader feeling the pressure of everyone counting on me. I've led teams, and I've been the laborer.

I've endure abuse, verbal and emotional strain, loss, rejection, despair, depression, hope and fear.

I've experienced the loss of a child, through a still birth. Divorce through a broken alcoholic filled marriage. And raising numerous children through less than stellar circumstances.

I've known financial windfalls and deep down falls. I've carried my own house, paid for private schools, and also known the welfare line and food pantries.

And I'm here to tell you - it's ALL survivable!

Whatever you are going through today. Whatever wall seems to be looming in front of you. Whatever 'impossible' thing you feel you are enduring - you'll make it through!

Television, newspapers, people, politicians, every day people focus on fear and how hard things are - there's no way - it's impossible - it's gonna hurt - it's gonna be hard.

Yeah, it will be. And you'll sweat. And you'll cry. And you'll hurt.

But you WILL survive!!

And you will be STRONGER!

And you will LEARN!

You'll get past this and discover a strength in yourself you never knew you had, but better than that - you'll LEARN about yourself and life and choices so that you can do better from here on out.

This really will pass - and you will triumph in life! Keep going! Don't EVER give up on YOU!!!

Told you I was radical. But it's what you needed to hear. In the midst of all the daily stress and pressures of life, someone needs to be the voice in the crowd crying out - It'll be OK!

And that's me. Your personal cheerleader. I know you hurt. I know it feels too heavy. I know you've been here before and you hate it and you wish it would all just stop. You're gonna make it. You can do this. I BELIEVE IN YOU!! You're tougher than you think you are and you can endure.

The Mind of A Champion

What does it take to be a champion, an indisputable winner; what makes them different? You may imagine its extraordinary talent, and sometimes it is, but the reality is extraordinary talent is a rarity. It takes something beyond average and far more than mediocrity to be a champion. It takes perseverance; perseverance always prevails.

This phenomenon requires an attitude that refuses to accept defeat. Champions always get back up, no matter how long or hard they fall. Quitting, giving up or in and letting go are never a consideration in the mind of a champion. They understand that in life you will find a way or find an excuse. Champions never own a 'loser's limp' bag, they offer no excuses because they fail to recognize a loss. Champions understand that a perceived failure is a mere testing of faith; they will reach the goal. They carry the illusion of defeat straight to the next win.

Champions understand that in life one cannot be poor who has less, only those who desire more. They rarely bother to assess or compare their talent; their attention is focused squarely on achieving the goal. They don't need a handicap when tallying their score, understanding that handicaps exist only in the mind. You can't accept the things you can't see. Champions know that 'the me is see is the me I will be.' They are careful to see what they want to be and not what others think they are or can become.

Who are the champions? They are all around you. It may be difficult to recognize them because you don't know or understand their goals. The best way to identify them is in their refusal to give up or give in. Look for the ones who seem to be extremely tested yet refuse to give up. Champions always exhibit persistence; a determination to succeed, they persevere no matter the difficulty. The one who refuses to give up always prevails.

While it may seem that champions are called upon to let go of a lot, they understand that real security lies not in what they have but in what they can do without. In the end is it always worth it to them because they never gave up and never gave in; they simply refused to accept defeat. That's how they became a champion; this is the mind of a champion.

If you want to join this elite group you must get inside the mind of a champion and think like them. Persist, persevere and prevail. There is a raging fire within champions that propels them to press on, press on, press on.

The Palace of Persistence

The palace of persistence is a special place in your psyche that believes quitting is beneath your dignity. It is an attitude that spans the ages, in fact, all of your life time. It is who you are. There is another trait that is embraced in this special place, that of discernment. Those who don't believe in quitting are discerning about committing. They gather facts and carefully consider them, and they should. They are making a concrete commitment to persevere to the win.

To be truly discerning means that you make certain your desire to commit ensures that no one will be harmed by your actions, that the goal is worthy of the pursuit and that the win is meaningful. It has to matter more to you than any obstacles you may face. Once you have carefully examined these few facts the commitment is effortless. You believe in the goal and are engaged in the pursuit of it. Then you enter the palace of persistence.

Your commitment demands a pursuit of running to win with never a thought of stopping, no matter how difficult the endurance test may become. You are in it to win it. This is the hallmark attitude of a winner. You simply don't want to be the one who didn't. Your refusal to accept second place is based on one simple fact that you understand. The winner is the one who stands up last after being knocked down. Being knocked down is a part of the pursuit. If it were easy it would not take such effort or examination of what is involved in making the commitment. The principle of persistence means you fully intend to get up last after the final opponent has fallen and given up, tapped out and quit. You simply must.

From deep within rises the command, 'Get up, get up, get up.' And you do. Discipline, tenacity and determination are housed in your palace of persistence. You draw on it from that special place where winners reside, where the essence of you exists. The difference between those who tap out and those who win is perseverance, grit and determination; it is an attitude that cannot and will not be defeated. Why? Because quitting is beneath the dignity of one whose attitude lives in the palace of persistence! Commitment is the key to the palace doors, where all who enter win! Get up, unlock the door and adopt the attitude necessary to run to the win.

Your Rival Is an Asset: Engage Your "Enemy" and Win

You are not alone in wanting to avoid conflict. Most of us tend to avoid it. However, the potential for growth and self-discovery lies in conflict. That conflict is a chance to get to know the previously undiscovered sides of yourself. It may help your fear and discomfort about conflict change to excitement about personal growth.
When we work on conflict in groups, a useful attitude is that a group needs conflict in order to understand itself. Conflict may be the field's way of getting to know and appreciate its parts and of realizing its full self.

--From The Leader as Martial Artist, by Arnold Mindell

In a recent family conversation about how to support my mother after a fall in her kitchen, my sisters and brother and I had different ideas about how best to help her. We ended up putting five possible options on the table, options generated by our conversations with each other and with her caregivers.

The eventual solution, which turned out to be the perfect one for her (and us), was a combination of three of the five options we looked at. I was fascinated with how the process unfolded.

First of all, none of us got over-invested in our ideas. We put them out and advocated for them but were willing to look at the advantages of the other options. It was clear that each of us was more interested in helping my mother than in having the right answer. Our shared purpose in wanting Mom to "win" was greater than any individual need to win. It was very cool. Besides solving the problem, we also reinforced our common bonds as people who care a lot about our mom and each other.

As Spotify's Global VP of Design Rochelle King says in her online talk -- "Your Biggest Rival is Your Best Asset" -- one of the most effective tools to push forward the creative process is conflict.

Rochelle understood that in order to do her best job as a manager/mover of people and cutting edge technology, she had to learn to be comfortable with conflict. To appreciate the opportunity to see more than her slice of reality. Your biggest rival has good ideas. Why not bat things about and see if you can come up with a product or solution that neither of you would have found on your own?

With learning rather than winning as a goal, you will create great products, mend broken relationships, and find solutions more quickly.

You have to catch yourself at these things:

wanting to advocate
convinced you have the best solution
talking more than listening
persuading, cajoling, manipulating
debating only to win
demeaning others ideas
If you can catch yourself, you'll stop for the time it takes to breathe and create a ki moment.

So that you can:

listen
ask open ended questions
learn about what you don't know
ask more questions
seek first to understand
acknowledge what you hear
make their argument for them
look for solutions
These are actions that take awareness and practice. And in time, you will change, you'll be a different person. You won't even notice it happening. You'll just begin to have a more calm, centered, creative, and peaceful life. And things, oddly, will go your way without even trying.

Our greatest learnings often come when we are unaware that we are leaning something. We can study a technique or focus upon a project for days, and the truth or the essence of it just does not seem to click. Then something happens. The fog clears and we notice that we have moved to a new level of truth without ever knowing how we got there. It was not our straining or trying that brought us to this new level. It was our willingness to be aware of what had already taken place that opened new doors.

If You Want to Win, Help Others Win First

We are wired to compete, and that often leads to a mindset of trying to 'one-up' others. But truly smart achievers help others win.

When I was a kid, my dad taught me the most important principle of my life: “Give value: Do more than is expected.” It has been the foundation of my success.
From day one, we encounter competition on the playground and in the classroom. Later we compete with others for educational benefits, careers and promotions. We are wired to compete, and that often leads to a mindset of trying to “one-up” others. But truly smart achievers help others win, which directly impacts the speed of results they experience.
Now that I’m aware of this idea, I teach it to others. Often when I’m making a presentation, I’ll facilitate input. If someone says something that is very valuable, I have two choices: I can gloss over it by saying something like “that’s a good idea,” and then spout my ideas, or I can have a much greater impact with my audience—and especially with that individual—if I compliment the person and encourage him or her to share more. I might say, “Wow! That’s really a great idea, Bob! Tell us more.” By doing so, I create a triple win: Bob wins (I let him shine), the other audience members win (they have received valuable input from someone other than me), and I win (I gained trust, respect and rapport by letting someone else shine).
To be the best, have the best and deliver the best results, you must be completely comfortable and confident that you will win when you help others win. If you want to see amazing results, embed this philosophy in your life and your organization.

7 Tips for Getting Over Disappointment

1. Limit how long you let yourself feel bad.

Against my best judgment, I succumbed to Powerball fever and bought a ticket for the recent massive payout. Why had I been resistant to doing so? Because while the odds of winning the jackpot were 1 in 292 million, the likelihood of ending up disappointed were 291,999,999 in 292 million.
Most of us are aware the odds are ever not in our favor, but that inconvenient statistical truth does not prevent us from indulging a fantasy or two about what we would do were we to win. In essence, we buy hope for $2 a ticket—and that hope allows us to overlook the fact that we’re virtually guaranteed to lose. Hope gives us a few hours to indulge the extraordinarily remote if delicious possibility that we might actually win. Hope encourages us to visualize how satisfying it would be to march into work, tell our boss what we really think of them, and declare, “I quit!” or how rewarding it would be to see our parents cry with joy when we buy them a huge mansion.
Hope is great, but it comes with a downside—disappointment. The more time we spend fantasizing about how amazing it would be to win, the greater our disappointment is likely to be when we lose. The day before the Powerball drawing, there was a lot of hope in the air. The day after? A lot of disappointment.
So, for the millions who had to force a smile and mumble a hello to their boss while dealing with let-down (myself included), here are 7 strategies for getting over disappointment:
1. Give yourself a limited time to feel bad.
Acknowledge the letdown but don't get mired in it. If you didn’t win the lottery, give yourself an hour to feel bad. If you didn’t get a promotion or if your bonus was less than you hoped for, give yourself a day—but then move on.
2. Don’t ruminate about what might have been.
The more you dwell on the disappointment, the more it will hurt and disrupt your ability to focus, concentrate, problem-solve, or be creative. So be careful not to feed the disappointment and deepen your emotional hurt.
3. Avoid self-pity.
Self-pity comes with a price—it takes away feelings of empowerment and agency and makes us feel as though we don’t have control over our lives. So indulge it at your peril; it can foster a bad mood and even depression if you get stuck for too long.
4. Use self-compassion.
Be sympathetic toward yourself and compassionate about the fact that you hurt. Don’t beat yourself up or become self-critical; doing so will only hurt your confidence, damage your self-esteem, and make you feel worse.
5. Put it in perspective.
We often feel disappointed about things we are unlikely to remember in a month’s time. How many of us will think back from five years in the future to that day in 2016 when we didn’t win the lottery? Very few. If the disappointment you experienced was significant, try to focus on the larger picture of your life and remind yourself of all the things that are going well and for which you can be grateful.
6. Identify the next opportunity.
This is easier to do with lottery tickets, of course, than with more significant events in your life that cause disappointment, but as they say in baseball: There’s always next season. Regardless of what disappointed you, spend a few moments figuring out when and how you can try again.
7. Remember: Success does not equal happiness.
Research on lottery winners has found that their level of happiness rises dramatically after they win, but then reverts to the same level of happiness they felt before they won—usually within a year.
