When You Heal Yourself First, The Rest Will Fall Into Place

Nothing Is An Accident But Results From Our Thinking

How would you describe your relationship with yourself? Is it a kind, compassionate and nurturing one or does it encompass a critical voice? It is important we understand the way we treat ourselves because it impacts how we relate to others. I realise many people have been hurt, whether it be through childhood wounds or intimate relationships. We have all experienced pain and suffering at some point. However, this shouldn't mean we carry our emotional wounds around and unload them on others. Whilst we may not have consented to the experience that caused us pain, it is incumbent on us to heal the wounds and find our way back to wholeness.

Life is not fair at the best of times, yet if we buy into this narrative, we are bound to lose hope. It is better we see life as a process where good things happen and sometimes unfortunate things happen. I'm not convinced life is out to get us. However, in my early 20s I was certain it was, since unpleasant experiences seemed like I was being punished. It wasn't until my early 30s I realised it was my thoughts that regulated how I interacted with life. That is to say, the wisdom of the years has taught me that life is impartial and my thinking determines my outlook. I am the tuning fork and life echoes back the experience of my thoughts. Ever since then, I have become attentive to my surroundings and inner world. For example, if I'm ruminating on something negative, I will see evidence of this in my waking life, such as repeated TV commercials about what I am focusing on. I am attentive to it and snap out of it quickly. Have you noticed this in your life? Do you observe your surroundings and pay attention to your inner world such as your dreams?

The point I wish to make is that healing is an inside out job. It begins by nurturing our thoughts with what we want to show up in our life. What we believe at a deeper level becomes our destiny, whether we like it or not. We are not victims given the deeper meaning behind every experience that teaches us valuable lessons. I see life as one giant mirror and we are the architects and creators of our reality. What we call a deleterious experience is the universe shining a light on our thoughts. I know this may sound insensitive but the universe doesn't care what we think about. The universe is aligned with fundamental laws and when we abide by them, the circumstances of our life flow like a stream. We create every experience through our thoughts. Therefore, if we wish to heal the past, we ought to concede that nothing is an accident but results from our thinking. Is this an idea you are willing to embrace? Irrespective of your life's experience up till now, are you willing to give life a chance?

Heal The Distorted Beliefs And Replace Them With The Truth

When you make it a priority to heal yourself first, everything falls into place. When we perceive life differently, outside circumstances begin to reflect our thoughts. Granted, it may take a while but what is the rush? I often hear people talk about healing to the extent it is now embellished on social media with inspirational quotes. But no one tells us what it requires because no two paths to healing are the same. Some people spend their entire life healing and are still wounded. Healing requires understanding we are already whole as spiritual beings, yet throughout life we take on beliefs that distort this sense of wholeness. Healing is seeing past the illusion we are broken or need to be fixed. Whilst healing is important, integrating our wounds into the wholeness of our true nature is vital. We were never broken to begin with but lose our way throughout our earthly existence.

Healing requires putting the pieces of our life back together and stripping away what is not essential. It requires letting go of negativity by way of: fear, anger, anxiety and other disempowering states. These states find their way into our psyche and just like a computer virus, cause destruction until it takes over. Our job is to heal these distorted beliefs and replace them with the truth. We are none of these things and that is why healing is a return to love; the place we originated from and where we will eventually return. This is the essence of the message espoused by the spiritual teacher and author Matt Khan who writes in Everything Is Here to Help You: A Loving Guide to Your Soul's Evolution: "When rooted in the vibration of love, we don't have to be completely healed in order to bring forth the kindness and care that already dwells within us. Love inspires us to console the innocence within our heart that wishes it felt something other than how things are." With this is mind, your task over the coming days is to write down a list of what you believe is standing in your way of living a remarkable life. On a separate page, write down whether you know for certain this is true? How can you reframe these beliefs? What needs to change to create empowering beliefs and are you prepared to do the work? Once we heal ourselves, life begins to mirror our inner world because we have attended to the root cause of our pain.

Life Is Not To Be Feared (By Maxine Whitfield)

All us have come here with a special mission. Some of us know their purpose while others are either not aware or not ready to know. So many are asleep, yet I have spent my entire life being guided to know these truths to help you see your life with a new pair of eyes. I am a Light worker who volunteered to come to earth to enlighten all of you.

I was raised in the city of San Francisco by parents who did not want me. My life started out as a rejection until I realized I had to learn to love myself. During my life I have been outcast by all family and friends as I have always been different; the black sheep. I was bullied for three years while in Jr. High school which changed me from an outgoing person to one that spent most of my time alone. During my life I have experienced every single issue which put me in a place of understanding others emotional needs. Therefore, through my experiences I have become an expert emotional healer along with my Reiki healing.

My path was set into motion with all my trials and tribulations, to be the world healer that I am today. I truly believe that the best education is personal experiences. I have authored a few books where some are written while others are poetic messages which I channel. I receive 98% of my messages from my ascended masters along with my analytical mind which helps me understand life from a higher dimension. Earth was only an experiment to see if we were given free will with no memory of our true selves to see if we would be able to find a higher power. This task was accomplished. Now we are going through an ascension where our planet earth is turning into heaven. Venus, the love planet, will be Earth. Only those that live in unconditional love of self and all others while knowing that we are all connected as one, will reside on this planet. Others will join when they are ready to.

Gone will be disease, stress, judgments, religion, and racial issues as those that reside here will only be about love. This is a very exciting time to be here. We all volunteered to be apart of this massive change. We are all the true warriors of the light experiencing many pains, trials and hardships to overcome while helping this planet ascend. My goal in life is to help you learn how to help yourself; to see your life with different eyes, different thoughts, and to feel life instead of mostly using your logical mind. You have the power to create what you desire, manifest anything you want and heal yourself.

Life is not to be feared and once you realize that everything happens for a reason, then you too will see how positive your life truly is. This is my mission; my gift to you and the world.

Loss of Hope and Happiness

Have you ever felt immense burden because you have to live through another day? Are you counting your days down to nothing in particular? Do you feel a lot of weight holding your shoulders down and keeping your productivity low? Are you filled with a lot of negativity and sadness? You can have some days like that because everyone feels sad once in a while, but if you have caught yourself feeling that way for a really long time you could be depressed.

So what is depression?

It is the feeling of an impending doom, or living in sadness for a really long time that can affect your daily activities and routine. It can come off as irritability or anger in most cases. Depression might seem like a long black cloud of sadness and nothing else, but there is a lot more to it. About 13% of Americans take anti-depressants every day. And this number is on the rise across the world as we progress into a more connected and advanced world that is forcing us to run a rat race.

Let's list some symptoms of depression to understand it better.

Helplessness - a lot of times when you are upset or ill, you may lose hope in yourself, but you at least think that someone else will be able to help you. However, when depressed, you even lose that hope of anyone else being able to help you.

Loss of interest - whether it's your favourite activities or daily chores, you just find it extremely difficult to leave your bed and do anything.

Insomnia - you lose sleep because you are so upset that that's all you can think about all day and all night long. Loss of sleep will soon show its effects during the day causing disorientation and lethargy.

Self-loathing - if you can't figure out what is the reason behind this sadness you're feeling, you will soon start hating yourself. Thinking you are worthless, a burden on everyone and you will feel guilty for every small mistake you make, such that these feelings are out of the ordinary.

Physical symptoms - your stomach could churn all the time, your feet could hurt and you could experience a sinking feeling inside.

Depression also has many types that we should be aware of. Following is a list some types of depression.

Major depression - it usually occurs as one long episode in people's lives or can have recurring appearances. Studies suggest that this kind of depression lasts for about 6 months.

Mild depression - also known as dysthymia can be understood as a thin blanket of depression that can go unnoticed but lasts longer than the period of major depression. What I mean by a thin blanket is that it can be misunderstood as a nature or natural state of the person who is depressed.

Bipolar depression - this has the symptoms of major depression but its effects are spread on a spectrum. The person could feel very hyperactive and lose concentration for a while but after a week or so could become very disinterested and lethargic.

Seasonal affective disorder - as the name suggests, this type of depression is directly related with the kind of season. Usually, the depression begins in winter months when the days get shorter and wanes by the time summer is around. But in many cases it can be the opposite and summer can bring sadness.

Now that we have explored the causes, symptoms and types of depression, we should conclude by briefing ourselves with some ways in which we can tackle depression on our own.

Ask for help - while depressed, you could feel like you are a burden on the people around you, but you must remember that your loved ones are only around because you are important to them. So you should reach out to them and ask them to help you through the difficult phase of your life.

Stay busy - you will feel like not doing anything for days on end but you should force yourself to maintain your routine and keep a healthy social life. Your interaction with others will invariably help you out.

Exercise - if you are feeling anger, guilt and helplessness, channel all that negative energy into exercising and learn a new sport or do something you like because physical exertion will keep your appetite up and maintain your health.

Eat Healthy - to heal yourself and recover from your sadness you need to eat a balanced diet with a good amount of healthy fats and carbohydrates to keep your feel good hormones nourished. Starving yourself is not the solution to any problem.

Depression, even though it can feel like a black presence looming over your shoulder, it can be fought. Don't give up the fight.
