How Do You Control Anger?

Anger usually stems from impatience. Trying to learn to be a bit more patient will help you in many areas of your life. But first let us look at some of the causes of anger and impatience.

Why is everyone so impatient and angry lately? It seems that nobody has any tolerance anymore. Just take a look around you. If it isn't road rage, then it is just the general aggressiveness of people around us and it just seems to be getting worse.

Why people are so impatient nowadays is due to the fact that we live in a society of instant gratification. With all the advances in technology, we want everything to work quickly and efficiently and with no problems. The instant results we get from this technology have increased our appetite for instant gratification in other aspects of our lives. We aren't willing to wait in line for anything. We would rather spend on credit then save up for anything. We don't even have the patience to read an entire article anymore.

Unfortunately, impatience has its downside in more ways than one. It can even cause us harm.

Impatience can cause anger issues. If for instance you were driving behind a slow vehicle, how many people will risk their lives passing, rather than wait until they are absolutely certain that it is safe to do so. Impatient people often make unsafe choices and bad decisions.

A recent study also found that impatience could also lead to obesity. It is far easier to eat fast food than wait for a healthy meal to be cooked.

Impatient people are also very likely to be chronic procrastinators, as they don't have to patience to see a difficult task through to completion. Impatient people are also more likely to abuse alcohol and this can also lead to violence.

Impatience can also lead to the loss of friendships. Impatient people have lost the ability to listen to meaningful conversation. Who wants to chat to somebody who is always in a rush or who taps their foot and looks at their watch when you are trying to talk to them?

So we need to make a conscious effort to work on our patience and anger levels. Take the time to see what triggers your anger. Work out if you are tired or hungry at the time, and then make a conscious effort to be more patient and less angry the next time the situation strikes.

Try to simplify your life. Multitasking does nothing for your stress or patience levels. It is difficult to stay focussed when you have too much on your plate. Beware of time wasting gadgets and hobbies. Try to plan your day in advance, and then try to stick to the plan.

Last but not least, try to be realistic. Don't expect things to always happen as fast as you would wish. Remember you can't always control circumstances. Rather focus on those circumstances that you can control. The reality of life is that it does little good to worry over the things that you can't control.

The Golden Words For A Successful Life

It is pretty obvious that when we use golden words to our advantage, we get a better chance for a successful life. These words which work like magic push us to keep going and not quit. Yet, too many of us give up too soon when it comes to sticking with a change or a brand-new thing in our lives.
Why do people decide to make a change then just give up? What makes it happen? What is the reason that pushes them to quit on things? Have you ever given up on something in your life?

At times, I know I did. We begin by getting excessively happy and fascinated to chase something we just set for ourselves. It feels like it is worth it, that it will work out, but after a while, we come across barriers standing in our way. Then our emotions get the best of us, the dream fades away, we are disappointed, forget the golden words, and so we give up.

So, how do successful people keep going while the others call it quits? Well, it is because we live in a generation where instant gratification is the 'new style.' Therefore, most people are impatient as they judge that things are just taking too long or getting too complicated.

Patience, time, hard work, sacrifices are a part of the process for any successful life. Failing, making mistakes and going through hell is going to happen no matter what we do. It is in those times of hardship that golden words come even more into play.

In life, many things do not go according to plan. If you fall, get back up. When you stumble, regain your balance. Never give up. Do not quit. Keep going. Those are golden words you could use to push yourself through when you encounter fences, walls, barriers, and obstacles in life.

Using Inspirational Words
We all need such inspirational and motivational words made of gold to start, keep going and reach our goals. The barriers in front of you will not cease to exist, but you sure can prepare yourself. Therefore, you have two choices:

  • Keep going and overcome the walls, obstacles, doubts, and fears you get.
  • Give up, quit and walk away.

So, using any golden words can keep you strong and motivated in any situation in life. Know that your feelings frequently get in the way and try to take control as you face difficulties. These emotions are not doing you any good, so you have to use powerful phrases to get a boost and keep a move on.
The Essential Golden Words
We all use golden words of motivation to drive us further in life or through something we believe in. Do you ever give up when things became too hard? If the answer is yes, why do you?

I know we all did at some point in time. But next time, do not quit. Stay on track. Follow one course until successful. Below are my top golden words for you to use anytime you feel like starting something, pushing through and keeping at it until completion.

Believe in Yourself
The first golden words and the number one rule for success are to believe in yourself. You need to believe beyond doubt that you can do it. Not just on the beginning, but all the way through. So, repeat "I believe in myself" and trust in your abilities.

Next time someone tells you that it is impossible or you cannot do it, prove them wrong. Learn about and copy successful people. It is time to awaken the warrior within you.

Be Determined
The next golden word you should get is "I am determined." You determine to get through barriers that will make you a successful individual. If you can keep going, be determined, push on with your efforts, and do not quit, you will inevitably arrive where you want.

Remember that all you worked so hard for will be gone the instant you choose to quit. So, be like the wolf climbing the hill, coming to get what you came for, and always hungry for more.

Be Grateful
Know that no matter how hard your life now is, the moment will pass. Therefore, be thankful in any circumstances, even the most difficult ones. The phrase "I am grateful" is of those golden words that keep you in a positive state while problems arise.

I know it is not easy, but you have to focus on cultivating gratefulness, and your life will change. Do it even when your life is good or not so good. Do not settle for anything else.

Keep Going
Time is often necessary. Things will not happen overnight. You just have to keep going and find a more efficient or even another way to go forward. The golden words "keep going" should often be used and kept in your repertoire. Focus on them when you have a hard time, think there are no more avenues or feel like giving up.

Do not underestimate the power of these unique words which can help you complete specific goals. Just like the soldier in the film "Hacksaw Ridge" that keeps going all night to save as many of his injured fellow combatants as he can. And says to himself "just one more." Therefore, be the hero of your own story.

Stay Strong
"Stay strong" is another of those golden words you should keep in mind. The road to success is everything but an easy one. If something is harder than you thought, it is time to stay strong and keep going.

Staying strong will help you progress so that over time, things will get easier. Do not be discouraged if things are not going your way. Remember: the goals we are most proud of are the most challenging.

Be Patient is also a Golden Word
Great things take time, but nowadays everyone is a hurry to get. Most people want instant gratification. But remember this golden word: "Be patient." Anything worthwhile creating takes a lot of time, and each thing has a natural time to come into life.

Be Always Inspired
You have to always be inspired, so just imagine your end goal, and continually remember why you are doing what you are doing. Remember what do inspire you in the first place about your goal and focus on the golden words "I am always inspired."

When you begin a project, make a change or create something new, you feel captivated, inspired and all pumped up. After a while, these emotions start to wear off, and you realize it is not that easy. So always keep your inspiration boost up.

Face Fears
Another of those golden words is "I am not afraid, and I face my fears." Know that by facing your fears, you can leave your comfort zone. You can then grow and develop. Once you have obtained each milestone you set for yourself, you will be able to go even further.

Therefore, when you leave your comfort zone, you go beyond your limits and boundaries. You learn new skills and get more knowledge.

The Ultimate Golden Word: Never Giving Up
When you think that things should be easy, but they are harder than you thought, you may feel like quitting. That way, no more effort is necessary. You could give up, and no more problems. Welcome freedom!

One of the most famous golden words you need to have is "I never give up." All successful people do persist, keep going, move on even after failure and never give up. If you copy this mindset, you are well on your way to a successful life.

A Final Suggestion about Golden Words
A final suggestion is that you may have to repeat these golden words to yourself over and over, many times. You just have to do it until you get it becomes a natural part of you. And remember that your present conditions are not your definitive results.

A beautiful thing about golden words is that you can acquire and learn them. Stay strong. And do not be discouraged. Successful people always use the above phrases and keep going no matter what. You do not have to quit anything. Just know that you were born a winner!

Is Your Life Running on Autopilot?

Ever get the feeling your life is somewhat running on autopilot?

That you're not really working on what you truly want, and that you're putting off certain necessary things because you feel a need for instant gratification?

And, in turn, do you ever think that you "really should be doing" X? That you really "ought to be doing" Y? But maybe you can't, because you "have to do" Z?

I know where you're at. It's not a good place.

Why would we allow ourselves to get there? Why would we allow ourselves to be running on autopilot like that?

As far as I can see, most people tend to let their lives run on autopilot to a certain extent. Not necessarily out of fear, but because they identify with what other ordinary people do, which is... Ordinary stuff.

Those who stand out are always the confident ones. Those who have the guts, the energy, and the resourcefulness to do what they want, and what's necessary to get to where they want.

The non-fident ones, on the other hand, tend to be full-out running on autopilot. They tend to do whatever they do, because they feel like they "should", or "have to".

And, since this is essentially an inhibitive way of living, they tend to overcompensate on activities of instant gratification, e.g. getting drunk every weekend or slouching in front of the TV when not at work. - Effectively creating a loop of guilt and emptiness without purpose.

Oh, I've been there.

Does anyone genuinely want to live like that? Of course not. But many people feel obliged to, simply because they don't know any better.

"What do you mean by "know any better"?? What exactly do I need to know then?"

Good question. And for that, you get the answer right here:

We "should" not do anything. We "ought" not do anything. In fact, we don't even "have" to do anything.

There is only what we want to do, and what is necessary to do.

"But then shouldn't we do what's necessary? Don't we HAVE to do that?"

Well, no. It'll probably have consequences if you don't. But really, we're entirely free to do whatever we want.

Confident people know this. Confident people act from a mindset of freedom and safety. Whereas non-fident people tend to act from a mindset of desperation and captivity.

"But what about paying my taxes? If I don't pay my taxes, I'll get punished somehow, right?"

Probably, yes. But that's not the point.

The point is, confident people do what they want AND what's necessary.

Not because they feel forced into doing what's necessary, but because they're proactive about not having bad consequences happen to them - and about doing what they want.

Non-fident people, then, tend to do what others want. Or at least what they think others want. And, hence, to be running on autopilot.

"I really ought to be doing my homework".

"I'm 30, I should be married by now".

"I have to get this report done on time".

I hear bells ringing all around.

I'm not saying that one's daily tasks and chores aren't at all necessary. For the major part, they ARE more or less important. But they're not necessarily essential to what we truly want to do.

ACTION ITEM:

This week, note your daily tasks by durance and importance. At the end of each day, and at the end of the week, add them all up.

How many hours a day do you spend on doing something you allegedly "have to", "need to", or "ought to"? How many hours a day do you spend on doing something you truly want to?

5 Things You Should Never Do During Work Which Kill Your Productivity

No matter how successful you are right now, it's still an everyday challenge to stand guard against temptations which eventually nudge you away from your important trail.

Whether you know it or not, there are 5 things that are killing your productivity if you initiate any of them during work. Let's put a light on them and get you out of this dangerous shadow right now.

Productivity Killer #1 Checking Emails First Thing In the Morning

Checking emails is one of the most evil time killers which is often disguised as productivity.

We love checking emails because every time there's a new hit in the inbox, we feel a sense of significance that "someone needs our attention". Happy chemical Dopamine is released, we feel good, and we will be too curious not to have a look.

Worse still, when we do this activity first thing in the morning, we're conditioning ourselves into a reactive state. It will be extremely difficult to revert back to the proactive state required to create progress you have planned.

What you should do is to schedule one to two 15-minute time slots (e.g. 12pm, 6pm) where you quickly delete most of the unnecessary emails while replying a few important ones.

Productivity Killer #2 Browsing Internet Mindlessly

The Wi-Fi & mobile device combo has aggravated the pandemic of instant gratification.

Computers and internet use has become popular at around teenage times in my generation. But it's even worse for kids nowadays as they were conditioned by this status quo from the day they were born. (I can foresee that this global problem is going to intensify across all fields when these new bloods continue to join the workforce.)

Anyway, it's very easy to start searching "interesting stuff" when you're using your computer. If you're not disciplined enough, you will fall into this trap of endless information searching black hole that kills your productivity.

Install some website blocking software if you need to. Set them to 30-60 mins of focused time where you will be disabled to surf around the internet junk. If you can, turn off the Wi-Fi completely if all you need is to write some good content in a Microsoft Word.

Productivity Killer #3 Engaging In Chitchats

Have you ever met someone who is an amazing orator with such a crazy ability to talk about this, to chat about that, to keep the one-sided conversation going and "blah blah blah" all day long until the boss comes back?

Yuck. How annoying to work under the same roof with such colleague!

If you're forced into such situation, the number one thing you should do is to give zero reaction, positive or negative, to that chatterbox. Show no emotions so they don't get anything from you.

Secondly, excuse yourself from the environment and explain that there are urgent important things you have to handle.

Chi chats are dangerous because even though that person isn't annoying and you love what you're talking, you will fall into an emotional loophole that carries your attention completely away from the work you were doing.

Stop entertaining people during work. You're not a clown.

Productivity Killer #4 Thinking About Your Outcome-Based Goals

Yes, I am saying that thinking about your future, grand, idealistic goals will kill your productivity!

If you always focus on how far it is you still have to go in order to realize your vision, you will feel unmotivated to take any actions. "It's too far, too hard, too arduous anyway," your brain thinks.

Instead, focus on performing your habits required in the goals.

Treat taking the next action as a success so that you show up, you perform the habit, and you make real progress that moves you closer to the final outcome.

Set your emotions and outcomes aside, just focus on the next action step.

Productivity Killer #5 Falling Into Shiny Opportunities

There are tons of legitimate, real, good opportunities around us that we can utilize to succeed. Sadly, most of us never fully take advantage of them and just keep failing one after another.

The reason is because we don't commit ourselves enough in the opportunity, and get carried away by other new, bright, shiny objects that carry our attention, energy, time and effort away.

If you want to succeed, focus on the work you're already doing. Spreading your focus on multiple opportunities is just going to diverse the intensity required to crush through challenges.

Don't kill your productivity like that. Don't kill the success that's waiting for you like that. Don't kill the final 10% of the journey to greatness like that.

Focus on one, make it work, and then you may consider expanding your empire.

No excuses!

How to Stay Productive and Get Loads of Work Done

How are you going to stay productive in the most boring and slow of times?

Many times at age 16 did I once sit on the couch with my friends watching the latest episode of Game of Thrones just hoping that I will become a millionaire by putting just a few hours of work in a day.

I hated work. Work was the one thing in life that I wanted to get away from.

One day, however, life struck me. I had made a goal to have $1,000 in my checking account within a one-week period, and I didn't reach it. I sat on the couch doing nothing about achieving my goals. My bank had -$4 in it because I spent my money on snacks and items of instant gratification.

Had I stuck with my plan to get my business going rather than watch TV, I would have attained my $1,000 goal.

Here is how to stay productive in tough situations:

1. Go to Work

You know that feeling you get when you first awake in the morning, where you're groggy as hell and want to stay in bed? That's the first battle you need to fight throughout the day.

Fight the urges of wanting comfort so you can feel an unbelievable amount of comfort in the future!

2. Get Started

The most difficult battle to fight during your day is simply getting started with work. It's hard to start a task if it's puzzling or requires a lot of energy.

But, just doing the smallest piece of that straining task will relieve some of the pressure.

The key to progressing past this situation is to use momentum as an advantage to your side of the battle.

3. Automate Repetitive Tasks

Personally, I have a lot of tasks to do throughout the day which require me to do the same thing over and over and over again. To make it easier, I use cool programs like Automator on the Mac for organizing my computer files or other technology I can use to make the tasks in my day more convenient for my time schedule.

We live in a day and age where we shouldn't have to worry about the small, almost-annoying jobs that haunt our productivity.

4. Be Personally Accountable

Accountability is the best skill an individual can master in their lifetime because it strengthens bonds with those closest to you, and, if you're personally accountable, actions which require large amounts of focus will become easier to perform. When you're personally accountable, good habits are created, providing profit to you for long term success.

Keep yourself to your own word. Accomplish your goals with zero laziness.

5. Set Daily Goals to Accomplish

What are your dreams? Do you want to own a mansion in the future, or a Lamborghini sports car? Write down everything you know you want with a particular dream and figure the price it's going to take to reach that dream.

Create daily goals which will help you to reach benchmarks. Once you've reached a certain number of benchmarks over a period of time, you will have achieved a dream.

If you stay persistent and consistent with accomplishing your goals, you're going to reach your dreams at a quick pace. If you don't stay consistent at least, you're going to lose sight of your dreams.

6. Avoid Distractions

Ask any self-made successful person how they got to where they are, and they are most likely going to tell you to stay focused. Work with focus and take control of the environment around you because the people around you want something different for you than you do, and different is bad.

Look at the work you need to get done each day like it's a battle. Fight the distracting urges and become victorious with your achievements.

Two tips of advice regarding making it easier to avoid distractions:

Go somewhere peacefully different. Get your mind off the environment you usually spend your time in to relieve your mind of stress and regain focus on work.

Avoid social media. I did an experiment with my daily productivity where I uninstalled social media from my phone and logged out of social media on my computer. The amount of productivity I had went from only eight hours a day of work and thinking about my life to eighteen hours of work and life strategizing (actually creating plans and back-up plans). I was producing three times as much as I was when social media was available.

7. Develop Passion for What You Do

If you do the work you do for the money rather than for what you love to do, you're going to produce some at first, but, over the long-term, you're going to crash. Experiment until you find something you love more than anything else.

I love writing. I will be writing for the rest of my life not because I can make crazy amount of money from it but because it's fun to me. My heart beats faster and my brain just goes crazy excited whenever I write or create a story. Find what you love and pursue with your full heart. Life becomes more fulfilling when you use what you love to do to give back to the people you love.

Use these 7 methods above and you'll accomplish more than ever before. Stay focused and know that even in bad times or when you've reached rock bottom, you'll have knowledge of how to stay focused on what you love rather than sitting on the couch.

Why It's Vital That You Plan Your Life

Most people would rather plan their next vacation destination or what they are going to buy during their next trip to the mall rather than their own lives. Many executives, entrepreneurs and business owners would rather build their businesses than devote time and energy into planning their lives.
Planning your life must happen if you want to win at the long game, 20 or 50 years from now. Planning your life is all about finding out who you are as a person, what makes you tick, what your values are and what deeply satisfies your soul.
After my keynote presentation a few weeks back for a sales organization, I had a lengthy conversation with one of the national sales leaders and he expressed his sincere gratitude for the wake-up call I had given him when I was on stage. At first I was unsure what he was referring to, but then he went on to say, “I have worked and planned 30 years to get where I am now and not one hour went towards planning my own life. Everyone from the outside views me as a major success, but something deep inside feels missing.”
This happens because what we think will give us instant gratification, things such as making more money, landing the big promotion, purchasing our dream cars or where we are going to go for the next big vacation means absolutely nothing if we don’t know who we are as a person, what we really want out of life and what our values and priorities are.
The belief that taking the time to plan life and get serious about what’s meaningful is a waste of time will eventually eat you alive and leave you unhappy. You have to get your inner life right before your outer life is right.
Just because you may make a lot of money, have an excellent career or drive a nice car doesn’t mean anything in the long term. It may temporarily put a smile on your face and make you feel good, but without planning your own life first, it will leave you empty and searching for the meaning that has been missing for so long as life continually goes on and the older you get.
Every single one of us needs meaning. Plan your life and then translate that over to building your career. Don't let life pass you by.
