Ask Yourself, Why, You WANT, To Be, You?

I want to be me. These famous song lyrics, although, compelling, inspiring, and motivating, fail to answer, the key question, which is, why, you WANT to be, you! Groucho Marx told us, It's a matter of mind, over matter. If you don't have a mind, it doesn't matter! Few of us, seem, ready, willing, and able, to, truly, proceed, in an introspective, objective manner, and attempt, to give ourselves, a check - up, from the neck - up. With that in mind, this article will attempt to briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, and, why, the happiest, healthiest people, are those, who take the time, and make the effort, to learn, what makes them tick, and are able to be happy, with themselves, etc.

1. Who (are you); what (you think and believe); where (your personal vision): Who do you want to be, and are you, close to, being that person? How might you be happier, and more content/ self - satisfied? When was the last time, you focused on, what you, personally think, and believe, and proceeded, with the independence, to be, your own person, rather than simply, trying to fit - in, with any particular mold, society sets and creates? How important, to you, is your personal, vital vision, and where, do you aim, to be?

2. Attitude; attention; aptitude: When, one possesses, and proceeds, with a true, positive, can- do, attitude, he looks, at ways, to achieve, instead of, reasons, why he can't (or, it's impossible)! How one focuses his attention, often, determines, his results, and judgments! When this is combined, with the commitment, to, develop, the finest possible, skill - set, and well - developed, aptitude, you become able, to achieve, to the best of your potential!

3. Needs; nurture; nuances: When was the last time, you considered, thoroughly, your specific needs, and tried to nurture them, by coordinating your actions, with, what you seek, and desire? Rather than, merely trying to be accepted, by fitting - in, to the group, around you, develop a willingness to accept and use the nuances, which most appeal, to you, personally!

4. Timely; trends; truthful: It won't help you, if you lie, to yourself, so be, truthful, discover your true strengths, and weaknesses, as well as what makes you happiest! Never procrastinate, but commit, to, consistently, proceed, in a well - considered, timely manner! Make today's trends, your friends, by learning and analyzing them, and focusing, on your best, personal path!

What do you hope, and WANT, to be? If you won't, no one else, will care as much, as you do!

2 First Impression Skills You Can Do Now

First impression skills can be learned. The following 2 skills are the nuts and bolts of making a lasting positive first impression.

Making a positive first impression takes only a few seconds. It also requires only a few seconds to do or say something where the consequence may be impossible to fix.

First Impression Skill # 1 Be Honest

Each of us learn this fundamental truth, be honest, in youth. Yet, many people embellish the truth about themselves.

For example, during a job interview, people boast of how they made a project successful or how they are very good at doing a specific task.

The truth is they contributed little to the project or only have a basic understanding of how to do a task.

Little white lie is okay, right?

The first impression skill of honesty goes beyond interviewing for a job.

Like a job interview, on a first-date, people tend to spin-their-story. They do this thinking this will win the heart of the person they are with.

Little white lie is okay, right?

The first impression skill of honesty is important because embellishing who you are is foolhardy.

Why?

First, astute potential employers will do a background check. Similarly, first dates and people you meet for the first time do exactly what you do when you meet someone new - check their social media profiles.

Question, is your social media profile consistent with who you are?

It needs to be. Potential employers check-it out. Would be dates, check-it out. And everyone and anyone who you meet for the first time is likely to look at your social media footprint.

If you are anything less than you, you will be found out. First impression skill number one is be honest.

By-the-way, why do I say 'skill'?

Answer, because it is so easy to fall into the trap of little white lies that you have to consciously work at being truthful. Being honest ought to come natural. Today you have to learn it.

First Impression Skills #2 Be You

Trying too hard to make a great first impression can be disastrous. What happens, is that you try to be what is out-of-character for you. Most people can see through this.

The secret to a great start is just being you.

Okay, sounds easier than said. You want to be liked. You want the job. Maybe you are even a little self-confident, so you try to pretend to be more macho than you are.

Unfortunately, you cannot keep up the charade forever.

Just being you means the other person, potential employer or potential love, meets the real you. If there is not a good match between the real you, better to find out now than weeks down the road. Better to not start a relationship than to have one based on a disguise.

First impression skill number 2 is stop trying and just be. Be you.

Be You - Only Better By Learning Your Identity, Passion And Purpose

Living a purposeless life is the worst kind of living. The most successful people today are those who have already discovered what their purpose in life is and have created ways of working towards achieving just that. But before you even get to realize what your true purpose in life is, you would need to start by knowing who you are and what you are passionate about. The three work hand in hand in making a better you. To be the best you do not need to be different, you just need to be yourself and let your abilities and qualities guide you.

Discovering identity

Self-knowledge is the starting point of your journey towards being a better you. The question here should be what makes you tick and what are your thought processes? You would need to pay attention to your thinking and thought patterns for that matter. The sooner you know your thoughts, the easier it will be for you to catching those that may not yield positive results so you are able to piece together your identity pieces. Practicing attentive non-judgment is necessary because then it helps you become aware of the thought patterns and acknowledge them at the same time without beating yourself too hard.

To get to identify yourself, you would also need to notice how you identify yourself. What factors play a role in how you identify yourself and what effects does that have? As you do this, you can jot down the self-definitions and thought processes and you will start seeing a clearer image of just who you are. Ensure that when defining yourself, you record negatives too but you also define your core values and define yourself in the most positive ways possible.

Discovering calling

Start by noticing what captivates you the most. This is a simple way of finding out what you are passionate about. There may be several things in life you are passionate about, but by attending to them one by one, you will manage to find out which one of them carries more weight for you. Reflect on your past deeds and what transpired from them; think about what you attempted and failed and the reasons behind the fail. By taking life inventory, you will be able to steer away from paths that are not where your true calling and purpose in life is.

Other simple ways of getting to know what you are passionate about and what your true purpose in life is by answering at least 50 questions about yourself and penning down the responses that you give. They should all be based on what you think your calling is so that by the end of your evaluating you will start having a clear picture of what you are purposed to become and do. You can also ask for the opinions of others and use your core values to guide you to your exact purpose in life.

No life is as fulfilling as a purposed life. Start making the steps to self-discovery today and you will start living a life you are passionate about and purposed for.

You Matter

8 Truths To Accept Before You Can Be Happy

Photography of Woman Surrounded by Sunflowers
Many of my coaching clients first come to me looking for the epiphany: that instant moment when you have it figured out, and all of the emotional pain is wiped away with clarity. Sometimes it happens for them. They return with excited emotions and they say, “I had my aha moment!”
It’s great to have an epiphany, but what you do with that new clarity is what matters most.
Most of our habits are so ingrained in our lives that changing behaviors causes regression. Most epiphanies force us to see situations and ourselves in a new light. The next step is courage. And taking that step to live out your epiphany is when real transformation happens.
In my own life I've had some powerful moments. But the ones that have impacted my life the most are the ones I've put into practice.
Below are eight epiphanies everyone should have. They have certainly changed my life for the better, and maybe they can help you.
1. You aren’t what people say you are.
What matters most is what you say and feel about yourself. You get to choose; you can let others define you and tell you who you are, or you can show them who you are. Be you. The world needs you as you are.
2. Plan B is often better than Plan A.
The most freeing moment in your life is when you let go of what you think is best for you and allow the universe to show you what you really need. Stop holding on to what is no longer working: that job, that relationship, that dream. If it feels like hard work and is causing you more pain than gain, it is time to release it. Instead, follow your heart.
3. You are not the number on the scale.
At the end of your life the weight struggles, the food wars, or the obsession with new diets and trying to look a certain way will have no relevance. The only thing that matters is what is in your heart. How you make people feel and how you make YOU feel is more important than how you look.
4. The journey is more important than the goal.
Yes reaching goals are important, but the actual process of becoming, growing, learning, and morphing into who we need to become is the real sweet stuff that makes a wonderful life. Enjoy the journey as much as the reward.
5. Being alone doesn’t mean you'll be lonely.
The fear of being alone strikes the heart and makes many people settle. But when you learn to love your own company, you will see that you are never really lonely.
6. It will never be all done.
The to-do lists, the chores, the things we race around to get done, will never be done. It is called life. Situations, chores, to do lists will always unfold. Instead of focusing on the end result, be in the process and celebrate what you have accomplished.
7. Emotional pain shows up to show us what we need to change.
Sadness, depression, and heartache are gentle reminders to probe deeper into our life. Look at what is not working and be open to living your life in new ways. You will see that one day it will all make sense.
8. You don’t have to find your purpose; it will find you.
The transition period between you were and where you are going can be painful, but on your journey of finding purpose. Recognize that there is purpose in the pain. Each step you take is helping you carve out more of how you really are. Instead of regretting or resisting, try turning inward and embrace the journey into joy.
