Idea and Impact

The human mind is one of the most important organs in our body. Scholars define mind as the set of cognitive faculties, including consciousness, perception, thinking, judgment, and memory. It is also defined as the faculty of an entity's thought and consciousness. An average person needs to understand that it is the mind which cultivates initial input and translates into many constructive and destructive ideas. What conspires and transpires in the human mind that an individual's life revolves around it decisively. The decision which could be profitable, or damaging is subjective. However, objective analysis will explore the parameters of its boundaries to constrain the volatility of mind and motives.

Though the subject by itself is quite exhaustive in nature, however, I am touching its expansive nature peripherally. This concise and conclusive topic, highlights not only the salient features, but also the hidden information within its meaning and concepts. It also needs to comprehend its roots and source of concept benefitting humanity. To achieve the above, we need to explore the creation reality and purpose. It will help individual and society constructively, thereby, giving birth to a maturity and humility among masses.

This is the beginning of life in this materialistic world, yet, it needs to travel spiritually within this existence. The creation is a continuous process through different realms prior to reaching a destination which could be good or bad depending on an individual's performance. This culminating point is again limited to one particular realm. The Creator's plans and executions of creations is a continuous process on a predetermined path.

The journey commences in a simple way, but develops desires which are tangible or tacit. It means probing within the mental agility will explore implicit happenings. However, tangibility needs physical touch and feel. Point to ponder is that tangibility leans towards perception. Hence, it is some reality, but not total reality. Here, the impact comes into play, which on its own perception can be deep-rooted or peripheral depending upon mind's growth.

Carol S. Dweck, a psychologist on the faculty at Stanford University, proposed mindset theory to understand the effects of the beliefs that individuals hold for the nature of intelligence. It is also stated that mindset is divided in two segments; one is fixed and the other is growth. The fixed mindset relies on feedback, whereas the growth corresponds to success. Thus, the scholars evaluate the thoughts and impacts accordingly based on the what avenues it is left open to debate and discussion.

It is said that everyone is responsible to understand of their own mind through introspection. Others can only evaluate or read subjectively depending upon what is being revealed either directly or indirectly. Although the 'thought' that generates valuable information is subjectively inclined yet to objectively show powerful impact. Hence, these are two sides of the same coin. The impact correspondingly sways and surges within these parameters with its limitations. However, when broader values and new vistas are open then it travels into expansive territories revealing mind-boggling meanings and concepts.

The arguments revolve around thoughts prior to associating with impacts. If the thoughts are powerful then it shows profound impact and leaves a successful trail for people to reflect upon it. Otherwise, it gets relegated into some corner of memories eventually diminishes leaving no traces.

7 Easy Ways to Stimulate and Get That Creative Juice Flowing

Creativity - if only it were a pill we can take every time we are in dire need of it. But it isn't and it can be frustrating when our brains are as blank as the white sheet in front of us after an hour of waiting for an idea to pop up.

There are a number of things that stifle creative juices from flowing and doing things to stimulate creativity is just as important as avoiding things that stifle it. However, be assured of one thing, you can be creative if you will set your mind free to innovate, be it solutions, inventions, or artistic creations. The key is not to force your mind but to liberate it.

So here are 7 ways you can try to stimulate creativity by liberating yourself to think freely.

#1 Break the Routine

Routines are good because they help us do things faster in an organised fashion, but routines can stifle creativity. Like when you go to the same restaurant everyday, don't bother to look at the menu, and order the same thing. If you want to get your mental juices flowing, break out of your routine once in a while. There are a trillion ways to do this.

Go out of your office and bring your laptop to the park. Take a different route to work. Put on your clothes on with a different sequence. Wear a color you don't like. Eat something you've never tasted. Or go on vacation to a place you've never been.

Think of something out of the box or out of your comfort zone. The point is to allow yourself to see things in a different way, to realise possibilities, and to discover something refreshing.

What routines can you break this week? Have fun and creative in breaking them.

#2 Chill Out and Relax Your Brain

Do you keep a small notebook in your pocket? One comes handy when bright ideas pop up during the weirdest times of the day. Don't you just love how they come when you least expect them? When your mind is at ease and your subconscious is free to fly, you are most receptive to creative ideas. Doing things that relax our brain helps our imagination fly.

Feeling stuck up? Listen to good music. Music stimulates the part of our brain in charge of our emotions and creativity. Feeling choked inside your office, take a walk along a river or somewhere where there's water. The view and sound of water is known to having a soothing and relaxing effect.

#3 Exercise and Recreate

Feeling pressured? Play an enjoyable game or go on a 20-minute high intensity workout. Physical activity loosens up our body and our minds as well. There's actually a study that shows a positive correlation between regular exercise and creative performance.

Another great creativity booster is laughter. It is not only the best medicine for sickness, it is also a great prescription for creativity block because it helps get rid of stress, which in turn stifles creativity.

#4 Change Your Perspective

Much creativity and insights can be gained not only from others' creative ideas but also from simple people we meet every day. By looking through other people's eyes, we gain new perspective on things.

When was the last time you had a meaningful chat with a child or an elderly person? Was your attention called to something you would never have noticed in a thousand years? Getting to know people from different walks of life is a treasure chest for inspiration. Have a meaningful conversation with one person per day. Or simply listen to the people you meet along the way, and try to find something you can takeaway from your conversations.

Then there's also social media and the Internet where you can test an idea... get a conversation running... just by posting a mind-boggling question or even a survey as your status, tweet, or blog entry. Or go ask a select few through a closed Facebook group.

And as you go along, try to challenge old ways of thinking. Always keep yourself open to other people's perspective.

#5 Try a Fun Mental Exercise

Imagine you were tasked to lead a sales team to market air-cooling units in Alaska, how will you sell them? Think of something impossible to do and brainstorm how to make that thing possible. Think of as many uses as you can for human hair, or a pencil, a water tumbler, etc. Mental exercises like these train our brains to think out of the box. It is also a great team building activity.

#6 Surround Yourself with Inspiration

Some have a creativity room while others have an inspiration wall. The idea is to collect items and photos of things that inspire you and help stir up your imagination. If you are more auditory than visual, perhaps you can have a creativity playlist that gets your creative juices flowing.
Best of all, surround yourself with people who inspire you. There is something about hanging out with people who are on fire and driven with a passion for life. This is why choosing a mentor (or mentors) is important. Do you listen to tutorial CDs and read books by people who are successful in the field you have chosen? People with similar passions have the power to inspire and get your stirred up, and the wealth of experience this mentor or coach shares can trigger a wealth of ideas and strategies applicable to your journey.

Remember there are countless webinars available for free, and so are "mastery" groups you can join. Find one and get encouragement, inspiration, and lessons from determined people like you who are also serious about pursuing their dreams.

#7 Let It Flow

After you're done preparing for your brainstorming session or whatever it is you need creativity for, the next step is to be candid with your ideas and list them all down. If you think creative geniuses always get it the first time, or the fifth time, you're badly mistaken. The most potent creative sparks come from a long list of ideas that are either too boring or too silly. If you are writing something, start writing freestyle. Don't think of grammar, syntax, artistry, or what have you. Just write anything that flows out of your hand. The secret to finding an explosive idea is a willingness to explore and keep exploring.

How You THINK, You Are

While some people possess certain skills, abilities, attributes, and an aptitude, which might be beneficial, and give them, a, so - called, leg - up, on the rest of us, in the vast number of instances, and situations, it's our quality of thinking, which creates, either, a positive, can - do, attitude, or an abundance of weakness, and self - doubt. Those, with self - confidence, and a positive, self - image, generally, start off, with a significant advantage, over those who think, they can't. While your thinking, and thought - processes, are significant, the most essential component, is when one begins with the concept and idea, he will be successful, and begins to behave and act, as a success, does, his potential is exponentially, enhanced! As the adage goes, As you THINK, you are! With that in mind, this article will attempt to briefly examine, review, consider, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, why this concept is one of the most important, to one's ability to perform, to his potential.

1. Trust; temptation; timely; traction; thoughts: Our thoughts, often, control our actions, and thus, our performance. The more, we trust ourselves, the less likely, one is, to let the temptation, to accept, a short - cut, rather than the best approach. While most procrastinate, because of lack of, optimum, self - confidence, etc, the most successful individuals, proceed, with well - considered, timely action, When one refuses to remain within the limitations of his personal, comfort zone, and expands it, and proceeds, proactively, he begins to gain the necessary traction, to become the best, he can be!

2. Head/ heart; hear: When you have those, intimate, self - conversations, what do you tell yourself, and, precisely, what do you hear, and why? Will you be able to effectively utilize your emotional and logical components, with a head/ heart balance?

3. Inspire; imagine; image; ideas; integrity: While many claim to, few actually, proceed, with the utmost degree of personal integrity! WIll your thoughts inspire you, or be a hindrance? What image do you visualize, and what do you imagine, you can achieve? WIll you use these qualities, to perceive and conceive of, create, develop, and implement, quality actions, based on your ideas?

4. Needs; never: Will you commit, to, never - say - never? Will you identify, and prioritize, your personal goals, and address your needs, in a proactive manner?

5. Knowledge; know: Are you focused - enough, to make knowledge, your friend and ally, so you know, your options and alternatives, and proceed, with the finest judgment, and hopefully, wisdom?

How you THINK, you are! What do you think?

Your Life Is Waiting On You! When Are You Going To Show Up?

I first heard the phrase 'start before you're ready' from Marshawn Evans. I thought to myself she must be crazy. I can't start before I'm ready. Well I have to be honest. Marshawn was right. Once I got enough courage to do my own event, I thought to myself that I wish I would've started sooner.

Your Life Matters. Your life is waiting on you. Many of us are waiting for the perfect time to start our business, the perfect time to travel, the perfect time to move, the perfect time to buy a new car, the perfect opportunity, etc. While it makes sense to wait to do certain things so you don't appear to be completely irrational or illogical, the reality is that there's never going to be a perfect time. Perfection doesn't exist. Sometimes you just have to take a risk. You have to do something different. Yes, you should think things through and do your due diligence in terms of research and having some type of plan but once you've done that, at some point you're going to have to take a leap of faith. Your dreams need you. Even with a stellar business plan, for example, you may run into challenges. Life happens for all of us no matter how much we try to have our ducks in a row. It's life. You learn along the way. It's okay to make mistakes. You can use them as learning opportunities. I speak from experience as I've delayed taking action in my own life because I've felt like I wasn't ready, I had to be perfect or that I didn't have enough or wasn't as good as some other people in my industry. Steve Harvey is a comedian, television host, radio personality, actor, and author. Steve mentioned on his show that you have to jump. You'll never know if you can soar if you never jump. I agree. In other words, you don't know how amazing and incredible you can be if you never try, if never give yourself a chance. Every successful person had to start somewhere. It's easy to get caught up in thinking you have to have everything perfect when you see your competition or others in your field that may have a fancier website or high quality videos, for example. It can be discouraging. However, you must remember that they too had to start somewhere. Stop comparing yourself to others.

Everyone started out with an idea, a dream, a goal. They then got the crazy idea to actually pursue it. Something in them had to believe that it was possible so they started to take action. I guarantee if you ask any successful person if it was a nice and perfect road to success, all of them would say no. There were some twists and turns but they did not let that deter them. As they were on their journey to success, I'm sure there were people they came across that had better websites, better videos, more clients, better marketing, etc. and they may have felt like they weren't good enough. But they kept going and just got better along the way. That's all you have to do. What matters is your authenticity. You don't have to start out with the most expensive camera or the most expensive software. You start from where you are with what you have. It's enough. You can start with your iPhone. That's what I've done. What's important is to do what you can right now. Your life is waiting on you. Your dreams are waiting on you. Just get out there! If you focus on having everything perfect, you're likely to procrastinate and that will cause you not to move forward.

Your Dreams Matter. Your life matters. You matter. God has given all of us gifts and talents that we must share with the world. Your gift is what could save someone's life. Your talent is what could give someone hope. If you look at it from the perspective of the millions of people you're robbing by not sharing your gifts and talents then you wouldn't take it so lightly. It's not about you. You playing small is not benefiting anyone. Your gifts and talents were given to you so you could be a gift/blessing to others. Start before you're ready. Take the first step. Take action in the direction of your goals and dreams. The world needs you. Don't wait for the perfect time. Start from where you are with what you have. It's more than enough. Keep moving. As you grow, you'll get better. Your life is waiting on you. Don't delay. Tomorrow isn't promised.

Awaken The Dying Dream

Start, take one step after the other and don't stop till it's accomplished.

Just like everyone else, on more than one occasion you and I have had this wonderful dream; a dream to travel across the world and visit interesting places, to wine and dine with prince and princess, to be a worldwide-known celebrity and spend your time as you please; a dream to one day write a book, publish it and sell it to millions of people across the globe or perhaps to be that celebrity chef. Your dream might even be to be the richest man in the world. Too bogus? Why not? Ever heard of the popular quote 'if you can think it, you can be it'? Trust me, it's no lie. Everything you want to be all starts from the mind, your deliberate actions towards it, your level of discipline, how much dedication you have and your resilience, amongst other things.

Often times than not though, most people whose dream is to become the richest in the world have the origin of their dream from a rather selfish perspective. When I say most, I mean over 95%. The richest men and women in the world certainly didn't start with a dream of being the richest, they set out to serve. To put themselves and all of what they have to offer out there and reach as many people as possible. History has proven over and over again that it handsomely rewards service to humanity. Above all you'll feel a great sense of fulfilment and happiness. Perhaps your dream is to finish University and be the best in your field or to start up a business and grow it to a multinational company. The reality is that the bulk of us are not living this dream, we are not even close and worst of it all we stopped making efforts.

Thinking about it now we may want to ask, what happened? How did that dream die?

We grew older, the economy got worse, lesser money in circulation to go round, we stopped dreaming and we started accepting whatever the society has to offer us rather than demanding what we want. The society sold us the lie that we can't have what we want instead we should settle for what we can get. I strongly disagree! I don't believe in conformity. I believe we can be whatever we want to be.

What then do we do? Here's my approach;

1. Start dreaming again. You definitely can still be what you want to be. Where life exists, hope does too.
2. Once you lay your hands on that thing which you've dreamt of being, write it down. A written down idea is an idea in traction. Writing is a form of action, thinking and pondering isn't.
3. To inspire you, find someone (or people) who is successful at that which you dream of being. How did he/she start? What does he/she do as a routine? What are his/her habits in relation to this? The way he/she walks, talks, what he/she reads, how he/she dresses etc When you know this, it will be easier to get started. Modelling something already in existence, gives less for mistakes and also could make things get done at a faster pace.
4. Within your means, what are the first steps (or step) you could take towards actualizing your dream? The simplest, easiest step you could take. Write it down.
5. What could be your limiting factor and what resources do you have towards this first step? What skills or resource would you need to acquire?
6. After steps 1 - 5, start! And don't stop. Take a leap of faith. Put one foot forward. Take one step after the other.
7. As you progress, keep learning more about that which you want to be. Read books about it.
8. And finally watch yourself gradually becoming and doing that which you've always had a dream of. More opportunities will surface as you continue on your journey.

I wish you all the best on your journey towards awakening the dying dream.

The Keys To Life Transformation: How To Go From Down And Out To A Wealthy Person

PART I 1st KEY: THOUGHT PATTERN TRANSFORMATION?

To attract wealth, one must first think they are worthy of wealth otherwise they can block their own path with thoughts of inadequacy and fear. It is not enough to desire wealth, but one must feel that they deserve it. That is one of the keys to obtaining wealth. People who have been conditioned to believe their race, economic status, environment or religion precludes them from having the ability to wealth, have a hard time attaining wealthy status. Years of conditioning from discrimination practices can take its toll. In many cases people who have been financially disadvantaged were limited in educational, employment and lifestyle opportunities because of the lack of exposure to things that wealth affords. Fortunately, there are those who overcame the adverse conditions by sheer will and determinism. This feeling of inferiority, when deeply ingrained, can be overcome through methods of counter mind conditioning exercises which settle into the consciousness and ultimately into the subconscious minds.

MONEY HAS AN ENERGY FIELD:

Money has its own energy field and to attract it, one must be in harmony with its subtle energies. Just like love attracts love and fear attracts fear, money attracts money both in the ethereal and on physical levels. So if, deep down inside you don't feel worthy or really believe you can have it, you will not attract it. If you do feel worthy but to a low degree, you may find your experiences with money flighty and inconsequential. You may get it but cannot seem to keep the prosperity channel open.

To establish a more solid connection to your mental state of worthiness and ability to attract wealth into your life, one good way to start is through affirmations and or supraliminal mind conditioning exercises. From a religious point of view, there are specific biblical scriptures, ancient spiritual writings, prayers, psalms and affirmations that lend themselves to positive mental transformation and when spoken daily, can work very well. Supraliminal mind conditioning exercises are another solution. It is the process of removing negative thought patterns and replacing them with good ones that will help reach desired goals. For every negative thought that is removed there must be a counter thought to replace it.

PART II 2nd KEY: FEEDING THE CREATIVE STRATUM: The Art Of Imagination

1. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. ~Genesis 1: 1, 2

Before Anything Was In Existence There Was An Idea. Imagination involves the use of the mind to create images of desired physical manifestation. The part it plays in the creative process is important because it actually forces a thought form from an idea to actual real substance. There are many metaphorical references to this in stories i.e. Aladdin's Lamp, Biblical Manna, Peter Pan, the Wizard of Oz and more. It's all about imagining and channeling the imagination.

How can one channel the imagination? It can be done by working on bringing the imagined thought into manifestation. Imagine, think and then find a way to bring it into eye contact by use of pictures that illustrate the idea. If you want a luxury car, go to the car dealership and drive one, to get the feel of it and to have a real experience with it. If you want a new house, go and take house tours and take pictures of the homes, to identify your dream home. It's all about bridging the gap between your ideas and the real world. Through the use of the imagination you can transform your world into your dreams. I've done it before and certainly you can do it too. By use of the method of imagination I was able to obtain a car, digital piano, house and a wonderful income.

"To bring anything into your life; imagine that it's already there." ~Richard Bach, The Bridge Across Forever: A True Love Story

PART III 3rd KEY: OPENING THE DOOR: Giving Birth To Your Ideas.

Many times in life we are given opportunities for wealth but we don't recognize them. Sometimes these opportunities don't look appetizing and we don't think they fit into the scheme of our life and therefore discard them. Those opportunities that come clothed in pretty colors, appealing stature and entertaining modes are more easily accepted but unfortunately, they are not always the best options. Opportunities for wealth often approach us but it's up to us to open the door. We open the door... by using the key. What is the key... GRATITUDE!

Our Dreams, Our Thoughts, and our Desires, are like little magnets that pull life experiences and opportunities toward us. The stronger the desire the faster the opportunity appears before us and the better the fit to our ideal wishes. Once the opportunity appears, then we must open the door by embracing it with appreciation and gratitude. The more gratitude we have, the better the outcome of the Opportunity.

Most people don't really understand the power of Gratitude. They think gratitude is simply giving thanks and it is, yet so much more. Gratitude brings Action. Loving Action! The attitude of Gratitude keeps us humble and in the mode of giving and receiving which is called "The Law of Reciprocity. The "Law of Reciprocity" is a mutual "give and take" force that we must respect in order for wealth to be given in full measure. This law is spoken of in the Bible and other Spiritual teachings many times,

"Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Luke 6:38
"Do not be deceived; God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap." Galatians 6:7

While these scriptures are considered a part of spiritual teachings in Christianity, make no mistake, it does refer to a Law that operates in everyone's lives, regardless of religion, creed or color. It is when this Law is not respected in our lives that chaos begins.

When we are not grateful for what we receive and do not return in kind in some way or fashion, our soil or mind becomes fallow ground the seeds we plant there eventually shrivel up and do not yield. The channel of prosperity can and will constrict where there is no giving or benevolent spirit toward mankind. This benevolent spirit can take the form of service, monetary donations, loving kindness, wisdom, knowledge and more.

Examples of these actions are such as, giving money to a cause you care about, volunteering at a non-profit event, mowing someone's yard, taking food to a senior citizen, giving a friend a ride home, or donating things to Good Will etc. One Sunday, we were having dinner and pleasant conversation when a person in our midst admitted that he was jobless with no money to eat his next meal. As a result of this conversation, this jobless man received a job application from a friend who submitted it at the job. The man got a job and the person who submitted the application for that jobless man, got a promotion!

That is an example of the law of reciprocity and there is no doubt that gratitude surrounds us with the energy of love, kindness, caring, understanding, patience, and giving. In this way, it is not only the path to wealth, but also to good health and a happy life overall.

Gratitude is Powerful and the key to not only opening doors of wealth, but bringing forth opportunities to provide your needs and desires with the clothing of substance. If you want wealth in your life, become more thankful and show it in the forms we discussed above. Pay your bills with joy, not resentment, to see them paid off more quickly. If you want a new house, clean up and make beautiful the space you live in and you will be given a better one. If you want a better job, find some way to enjoy the present one and doing good things where you are and a new one will be given (maybe even a new promotion). If you don't have a job, give some time volunteering at a non-profit activity, a new job will pop up. You'd be surprised at what Gratitude can do to propel and bring to life your dreams! Make it happen! Be Grateful!

Wealth is achievable! It's not rocket science but it is the science of life! Once you have the keys to attracting wealth you can do it over and over again just like other wealthy figures in our spiritual teachings ie Solomon, Moses, Jacob and more. Learn their secrets and watch your life transform before your very eyes. Read this article to find out how to bring financial wealth, good health and joy into your realm. Turn the tide today and you'll never look back.

Believing Is The New Seeing

"I'll believe it when I see it."

There's something wrong with this sentence. To a certain extent, it could be true. You need to see results and consistency in something or someone before you truly are sure of it or them. But there's still a problem here.

When you have a really awesome idea, so awesome that it sounds crazy and you're not sure whether it's going to work out, then by saying "I'll believe it when I see it" is not going to help you out at all. You see, if you keep waiting to see results without expecting them to actually come true, then it's never going to come true!

I know, it might sound a little confusing, but let me give you an example of how it works. Your Heart tells you to do something really crazy, like travel to Paris or something. And instead of finding ways on how to do that, you instead begin wondering why on earth your Heart is telling you to do something which seems truly impossible.

You barely can afford dining at the fancy French restaurant across the street by yourself and now your Heart is telling you to book a ticket to that country? Ha-ha, yeah right, you're never gonna make enough money to go there, even though your Heart already told you that it is indeed very possible. "I'll believe it when I see it", you say, "No need to get my hopes up".

WRONG!

Did you see what happened? You thought it was impossible but yet your Heart said it was possible. Since you couldn't immediately see how you were going to get there, you didn't bother even entertaining the idea, let alone believe it in.

But you see, according to The Law of Vibrations and Attractions, whenever you think about something, especially with emotions, you send out vibrations. These vibrations will only attract to you things which will make sure that whatever you thought about will come true!

In the earlier example, you were really convinced that you would never make it to Paris, or that fancy French restaurant, even though your Heart really wanted you to go. Due to the ever-working Laws of Nature your thoughts alone are enough to make sure you will never get there.

But if you immediately thought that it was indeed possible and started doing a little bit of research of Paris instead of whining and complaining, then your positive thoughts, mixed with your emotions which are happy at that moment and are convinced that you can do it, would aid you into finding ways to dine at a fancy French restaurant in Paris itself!

Here the Law of Vibrations and Attractions works with you instead of against you. And you'll be eating French food in no time!

So, stop waiting to "see" things before you start believing them, because that's never going to happen. Start believing, then you'll see them!

Learn How To Turn Nothing Into Something

There are so many people out there complaining and whining that they can't do this because they don't have that. These claims are all futile excuses which are harmful to their personal growth as well as to their own success potential. If you are one of these people, you are blocking your own potential to succeed (no matter what your definition of success is, this applies to all). The "success formula" isn't complicated at all, even though the journey can be quite turbulent. The destination is always pure bliss!

So how do you get to this success, also knows as "pure bliss"? Well, here's an idea: you want to get to something, start with an idea and imagination. Easy right? You've got to let these ideas become so powerful in your mind and in your consciousness that they seem real to you even before they become tangible.

Here's how:

Imagine and think about all the possibilities: For those of you who are familiar with seminars, sermons, testimonials and everything of the like, you do know and realize that thanks to these events, you do see the possibilities (or at least you get an idea of what is possible). They also help you imagine and see all the potential.

Trust and believe what you imagine possible for you: When you have your idea in mind, you imagine that it is possible, then you start believing that it's indeed possible for you. If other people's testimonials and experiences aren't convincing enough, you can go with your own testimonial. Perhaps you were once able to accomplish something very important and self-satisfying that "you can do it again".

Work to make it real: You have your idea, you've seen what is possible (the potential), you're finally convinced and believe it is possible, and now it is time to put life into it. Put in work and start the miracle process. Read more about it, seek advice here and there, seek more knowledge about it... everything it takes to construct it.

Execute consistently: Start applying your knowledge fearlessly! Do what it takes to keep it alive for you, consistently. If you make mistakes (which you will along the way, and that is a great thing!), do not worry or despair. On the contrary, be thankful as what you take out of the mistakes is a greater lesson, greater than the mistake itself. You learn more and thus, grow even much more. Things can only get better!

"The key factor that will determine your financial future is not the economy; the key factor is your philosophy."
- Jim Rohn

Cultivating Burning Desire

When asked during an interview how he managed to reach the top as a professional body builder and Hollywood actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger replied with a single word, "Drive!" All great success ultimately begins with an idea, but what makes ideas become reality is the fuel of human desire. An idea by itself can give you a temporary feeling of inspiration, but burning desire is what gets you through all the perspiration necessary to overcome the inevitable obstacles along the way.
Take a moment to think about the goals you've set for yourself. (You have set goals, haven't you? If not, go read the article on setting clear goals.) How committed are you to achieving these goals? Under what conditions would you give up? What if you could significantly increase your desire to achieve these goals? What if you wanted them so badly that you knew with absolute certainty that you would absolutely, positively never ever give up? When you are truly 100% committed to reaching your goals, you move from hoping to knowing. If you want something badly enough, then quitting is simply not an option. You either find a way or make one. You pay the price, whatever it takes.
Those with an intense, burning desire to achieve their goals are often referred to as being "driven." But is this special quality reserved only for a privileged few? Certainly not. With the right approach, anyone can cultivate a deep, burning desire within themselves and move to a state of total commitment, knowing with certainty that success is as inevitable as the sunrise.
So how do you cultivate burning desire? You begin with an outside-in approach, altering your environment in ways that will strengthen your resolve while eliminating doubt. If you take the time to do it right, you'll establish a positive feedback cycle, such that your desire will continue to increase on a daily basis.
Here are eight steps you can take to cultivate burning desire to achieve any goal you set for yourself:

1. Burn the ships.

I'm not going to pull any punches with this one. If your goals are really important enough to you, then you can start by burning the proverbial ships, such that you have no choice but to press on. For instance, if you want to launch your own business, you can begin by making the commitment to quitting your job. Write a letter of resignation, put it in a stamped envelope addressed to your boss, and give it to a trusted friend with firm instructions to mail the letter if you haven't quit your job by a certain date.
One Las Vegas casino manager made the decision to quit smoking. He didn't feel he had the personal willpower to do it alone, so he took out a billboard on the Las Vegas Strip with his photo on it along with the words, "If you catch me smoking, I'll pay you $100,000!" Was he able to quit smoking? You bet! (Ok, bad pun.) This is called willpower leveraging. You use a small bit of willpower to establish a consequence that will virtually compel you to keep your commitment. As Andrew Carnegie once said, "Put all your eggs in one basket, and then watch that basket!"
In the classic book The Art of War, Sun Tzu notes that soldiers fight the most ferociously when they believe they're fighting to the death. A good general knows that when attacking an opposing force, it's important to create the illusion of a potential escape route for the enemy, so they won't fight as hard. What escape routes are you keeping open that are causing you not to fight as hard?
If you don't burn those ships, you are sending the message to your subconscious mind that it's ok to quit. And when the going gets tough, as it inevitably does for any worthwhile goal, you will quit. If you really want to achieve your goals, then you've got to burn those ships to the ground, and scatter the ashes. If you're thinking that the average person won't do this, you're right -- that's why they're average.

2. Fill your environment with desire boosters.

Let's say one of your important goals is to lose weight. Get some poster board, and make your own posters that say, "I weigh X pounds," where X is your goal weight, and put them up around your house. Change your screensaver to a text message that says the same thing (or to some equally motivational imagery). Get some magazines, cut out pictures of people who have bodies similar to what you'd like to have, and put them up around your house. Cut out pictures of healthy food that looks good to you, and post those around your kitchen. If you work in an office, then alter your office in the same manner. Don't worry about what your co-workers will think, and just do it! They may poke a little fun at you at first, but they'll also begin to see how committed you are.

3. Surround yourself with positive people.

Make friends with people who will encourage you on the path to your goals, and find ways to spend more time with them. Share your goals only with people who will support you, not those who will respond with cynicism or indifference. If you want to lose weight, for instance, get yourself into a gym, and start befriending those who are already in great shape. You'll find that their attitudes become infectious, and you'll start believing that you can do it too. Meeting people who've lost one hundred pounds or more can be extremely motivating. If you want to start a new business, join the local chamber of commerce or a trade association. Do whatever it takes to make new friends who will help you keep your commitment.
Although this can be difficult for some people, you also need to fire the negative people from your life. I once read that you can see your future just by looking at the six people with whom you spend the most time. If you don't like what you see, then change those people. There's no honor in remaining loyal to people who expect you to fail. One of the reasons people fail to start their own businesses, for instance, is that they spend most of their time associating with other employees. The way out of this trap is to start spending a lot more time associating with business owners, such as by joining a trade association. Mindsets are contagious. So spend your time with people whose mindsets are worth catching.

4. Feed your mind with empowering information on a daily basis.

Inspirational books and audio programs are one of the best fuel sources for cultivating desire. If you want to quit smoking, read a dozen books written by ex-smokers on how to quit the habit. If you want to start a business, then start devouring business books. Go to seminars on occasion. I advise that you feed your mind with some form of motivational material (books, articles, audio programs) for at least fifteen minutes a day. This will continually recharge your batteries and keep your desire impenetrably strong.
When you absorb material created by an extremely passionate person, you'll often find yourself feeling more passionate as well. A great book I read was Pour Your Heart Into It by Howard Schultz, the CEO of Starbucks. As I read the book, I was absolutely amazed at how someone could be so fanatically enthusiastic about coffee. Other enthusiasm-building authors/speakers I highly recommend areHarvey Mackay and Zig Ziglar.

5. Replace sources of negative energy with positive energy.

Take an inventory of all the sensory inputs into your life that affect your attitude -- what you read, what you watch on TV, the cleanliness of your home, etc. Note which inputs influence you negatively, and strive to replace them with positive inputs. I'll give you some good places to start. First, avoid watching TV news -- it's overwhelmingly negative. Do you really need to hear about the woman who was mauled to death by her neighbor's dog? Fill that time with positive inputs instead, like motivational and educational audio programs. If you like to watch movies, then watch movies that are full of positive energy, such as light-hearted comedies and stories of triumph over adversity. Avoid dark, tragic movies that leave you feeling empty afterwards. Dump the horror books, and replace them with humor books. Spend more time laughing and less time worrying. If you have a messy desk, clean it up! If you have young kids or grand kids, spend some time playing with them. Some of this may sound a bit corny, but it will really help increase your overall motivation. If you have a hard time motivating yourself, chances are that your life is overflowing with too many sources of negativity. It's far better to happily achieve than it is to feel you must achieve in order to be happy.

6. Dress for success.

Whenever you pass by a mirror, which is probably several times a day, you get an instant dose of image reinforcement. So what image are you currently reinforcing? Would you dress any differently if your goals were already achieved? Would you sport a different hairstyle? Would you shower a bit more often?
Although for years I enjoyed the ripped jeans and T-shirt look, I noted that when I visualized myself in the future, having achieved certain goals, I was dressed a lot more nicely. With some experimentation I found a style of clothing that looks professional and is also comfortable. So I gradually donated my old clothes to charity and replaced my wardrobe with clothes that fit the new identity I was growing into. (Consequently, there's a Salvation Army store with quite a stock of gaming industry T-shirts.) I learned this idea from an ex-Navy Seal, who stressed to me the importance of taking pride in your appearance, and I can say with certainty that it makes a noticeable difference. So make sure the clothes you wear each day are consistent with your new self-image.

7. Use mental programming.

This is a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) technique that will help you associate strong positive emotions to whatever goal you're working to achieve. Find some music that really energizes and inspires you. Put on your headphones and listen to it for fifteen to twenty minutes, and as you do this, form a clear mental picture of yourself having already achieved the results you want. Make your imagery big, bright, vivid, colorful, three-dimensional, panoramic, and animated. Picture the scene as if looking through your own eyes (this is very important). This will help you form a neuro-association between the positive emotions elicited by the music and the goal you want to achieve, thus strengthening your desire. This is a great way to begin each day, and you can even do it while lying in bed when you first awaken if you set things up the night before. You should cycle the music periodically, since the emotional charge you get will tend to diminish if you listen to the same songs each time.
Keep in mind that this form of mental programming is already being used on you by advertisers. Watch a fast-food TV commercial, and you'll note that the food is big, bright, and animated -- spinning burgers, lettuce flying through a splash of water, ripe tomatoes being sliced -- and don't forget the catchy tune. So instead of letting others program your desires for you, take charge and mentally reprogram yourself.

8. Take immediate action.

Once you set a goal for yourself, act immediately. As you begin working on a fresh new goal, don't worry so much about making detailed long-term plans. Too often people get stuck in the state of analysis paralysis and never reach the action stage. You can develop your plan later, but get moving first. Just identify the very first physical action you need to take, and then do it. For instance, if you've decided to lose weight, go straight to your refrigerator, and throw out all the junk food. Don't think about it. Don't ponder the consequences. Just do it immediately.
One of the secrets to success is recognizing that motivation follows action. The momentum of continuous action fuels motivation, while procrastination kills motivation. So act boldly, as if it's impossible to fail. If you keep adding fuel to your desire, you will reach the point of knowing that you'll never quit, and ultimate success will be nothing more than a matter of time.
If you apply these eight strategies, you'll add so much fuel to your desire that the fire will never burn out. You'll move towards your goals like a guided missile to its target, and you'll enjoy the process because you'll be so focused on the positive rewards instead of the difficulty of the tasks. If you get enough positive energy flowing into you, you'll soon have positive results flowing out of you. And you'll quickly become the kind of person that others refer to as "driven."
