Who Is Your Master?

You're a slave and don't even know it.

According to Websters dictionary a slave has two prominent definitions. The first states the following: "A person held in servitude as the chattel of another. The second definitions goes even deeper. It states the following: " One that is completely subservient to a dominating influence."

Addiction does just that. It becomes your task master and you become its slave. Addiction requires that. Complete unadulterated devotion, worship, and servitude. It requires great sacrifice and even then it is not satisfied. It says that you must do everything and anything to feed its appetite. It's cravings are more fierce than the largest grizzly bear, or the mighty lion. Because of our servitude we abide by whatever addiction asks.

We never count the cost. We never think of what we are losing in order to feed this domineering force. I have seen mothers forsake their children and sacrifice that righteous bond for a needle in their arm. I have seen fathers sell everything they own including their very soul to keep the high for just a little longer. Addiction does not care. It says that there is nothing above it. It is no respecter of person. It wants to kill everyone the same. It holds you in its clutches until it takes your life. Even then it wants more. It will carry on to someone else seeking their souls as well.

Wow we are slaves and don't even know it! We don't see the condition that we are truly in. We have become N.U.M.B. This acronym stands for Not Understanding My Behavior. When we are locked into the grips of addiction we become desensitized by it. We don't understand what our behavior is doing to ourselves, or those around us. The drugs create a box that keeps just it and ourselves locked in and chained together. To begin the process of healing we need to come to terms with our condition. We need to own it. "Look at what my life has become, look at what I have done." When we recognize it, and own it, we can begin to change it.

Yet how do we get to that point of cognitively recognizing our condition? When do we become aware or awake. I have seen parents lose their children to the system. Even that would not trigger that light bulb of self-realization. That look at my world. Look at the reality I have created. I have made a mess of things. That didn't do it. I have seen several people overdose and thanks to the life saving Narcan administered by a police officer lived to see another day. Even then that would not do it. So what does? What brings a person to that point of self realization and the yearning to change? It takes brokenness.

Brokenness comes when you become sick and tired of being sick and tired. The unfortunate reality is that some never get that opportunity. My own uncle died from a drug overdose in 2015. He was only 39 at the time. According to toxicology he had tried Fentanyl for the first time that night he died. It was determined that he died from a toxic mixture of Morphin and Fentanyl. Since that time there has been thousands who have died nation wide from drug overdoses. Thousands who never found the victory that comes in brokenness. See when we are broken, it does not show that we are defeated. It shows that we are set for a comeback.

Everyone loves a good comeback story. A tale of someone beating the odds. Someone who has overcome adversity to find victory just on the other side. That can happen even when your locked in the bonds of slavery to addiction.

In 1831 there was the Nat Turner Rebellion. It was a slave rebellion that took place in Southampton County, Virginia. During this revolt the slaves led by Nat Turner turned on their masters and eventually killed from 55 to 65 people. The slaves had become tired of their condition and treatment and rose up against their masters. We must come to that point as well. See there is a righteous anger to be found within the arena of brokenness. It is that anger that motivates us to make the necessary changes to begin recovery. We can't just recognize the problem and leave it to sit and become like cancer. Malignant and continuing to spread. We must become equally as aggressive to beat our master as we were to serve him. It is important for us to remember to use our anger in positive and creative ways to overcome the task master of addiction. It is not an easy path to take but it is one that leads to absolute victory.

When we realize that our life has become unmanageable we have taken the great first step to lasting recovery and complete healing. Now you have called out your enemy. You see him for the first time clearly. Now it is time to break free, and say I'm not going back. Addiction though does not let go quietly. It puts up a fight. It runs after you. It stalks you around every corner waiting for just one moment of weakness. It is important to find those you can lean on while on the path to recovery.

How Growth Changes Us

Ever seen a new born baby? Have you observed their behaviors? Well if you have you will conclude that they seem helpless. The truth is that child doesn't stay like that forever; as he/she grows it becomes obvious that they have changed either in size, beauty intelligence or Behavior. The point of interest in this blog post is Behavior. How the growth of someone affects his behavior? Is there a relationship between behavior and Growth? Well the answer is yes, there is but we will examine (3) of and the remaining (4) in Part 2 each stage of growth and see how they progress or change and what we can learn from that in our place of work and in School. The stages are: New born Baby, A toddler, At Middle Child-hood, A Teenager, A Youth, An Adult, An Old person

A New born Baby: New born babies are helpless, they Cuddle themselves without knowing what it actually is, but they openly and unconsciously accept help and Food from their ever caring mother, but there is something we fail to notice, it's the fact that they learn as they accept help from their mom, but as little children they don't grasp what they learn so quickly, rather they just keep it up there. You may be asking what I can learn from this.

Lesson: If you just got employed or you just got to a new grade at school, you are likened to that new born baby who just got into the world, in imitation of babies we want to readily accept help from those ahead of us, it may be our Boss or fellow colleagues but a little bit higher than us. We want to accept help, but as you accept help, also in imitation of that Child, you need to learn. At first you may not get it clearly but keep what you've learnt to heart

A Toddler: Ever seen a toddler? Ever stayed with one? Well a toddler is usually within the age bracket of (1-4). They have this quality of Exploration. They explore, and try everything possible. For example a toddler that still craws or a toddler that can now walk could see something on the ground, obviously they pick it up, and try to eat it, they are very curious. They hold your Tablet and try all sorts of things. They open the refrigerator and pull out and egg and start juggling it. Well, they are good at exploration... Remember this toddler was a new born baby before... He has learned a lot and is now trying to use that stored up knowledge gotten from the ever caring mother to explore... He has changed from the helpless to the Seeker, the ever curious child. With this he child still learn. There is a lesson Lesson: You are no longer a newbie at work, at school but in imitation of the toddler out have to start exploring. At work try things out, the same applies to school. Be curious and use that knowledge stored up from the assistance rendered, use it to explore, use it to learn more and get more knowledge.

At Middle Child Hood: The inquisitive nature of children, it's obviously true, they learn a lot they explore and they get to a point whereby they feel helpless but they don't keep such questions or challenges to themselves, rather they ask their parents, and their parents offer help, notice they have learnt something new right?, That's it that's how childhood goes about, the children gets close to their parents and store up more knowledge.

Lesson:Just like children, we want to learn to ask questions or seek for assistance when we need help, as a worker or student who has taken time to explore just as a toddler, we won't get it all straight during exploration, as a result we want you want to meet your boss or Teacher for help as you explore the more.

Being Content: How to Not Let Others Affect You

Ever wondered how to be content and happy without letting others affect you? How is it possible? Is it at all possible? This article answers these questions.

Let others' presence not bother you. You do your stuff all by yourself whatever you can. If you need co-ordination or help, ask for it. In break time, have fun and cut jokes and be happy. When you return to your work, do it coolly and be happy. You will cover many milestones this way. Stay in slow and steady mode - after all, you are the person who will win at it. Perseverance and determination always count.

Let others' words not sting at you. Make it go through one ear and out through the other ear. You may not allow what others say hurt you. Be firm and strong and speak boldly. Everything will work out and you do not have to be a people pleaser.

Let how others behave not bother you. You cannot expect everyone to be perfect and up to your standard. Nevertheless talk normally and accept them but don't let them hamper your thoughts or work.

Let how other people dress not bother you. If there is a dress code at work and someone violates it, they will have to pay for it. So you don't bother and sweat. If you don't like the way someone is dressed at a party or reunion, don't bother to say anything. Just keep your distance and mix with the people you are comfortable with and stay contented.

It's not your job to fix anyone. Let others do what they like, talk, behave or wear anything they like. You don't bother about these things unless it's your own family and would like to suggest something more rational or positive.

Learn to be content with your stuff in your place at work or home. Don't let anybody affect your peace of mind. You may sit in a garden for sometime or spend your time at a home library. Time will pass peacefully. If you crave for someone's company, let him or her know that and let them spend time with you for the time being and be content and happy.

Summing up, please don't let others' odd presence or behavior affect you. You may be in for a shock or surprise but it is totally their business. Control yourself and stay cool and at peace with yourself. That way you don't lose your temper or your peace of mind. Instead, tranquility surrounds you in your environment and you are left with your thoughts and work to enjoy and be content.

Behavioral Addiction

Addiction as commonly known is the dependency to a psychoactive drug accompanied by some symptoms that appear on the addict. However addiction is not only linked to the ingestion of a drug like alcohol or cocaine, addiction can also be considered as the development of a behavior that produces stimulation to the reward system such as gambling, social networking which is a behavior driven by the FOMO effect and even work-holism.

In fact humans are creatures with addictive tendencies. We are developing tolerance to many behaviors. You know that you are addicted to certain behavior when that behavior changes from a habit into an obligation, you struggle to avoid doing a habit and you may have social and mental problems.

At the beginning, you start to experience a rush of pleasure when you carry out a new activity, so you start doing that behavior over and over again, then this behavior turns into a habit that is hard to quit.

A behavioral addict experiences the same bad consequences of a drug addict minus the physical effects of the drug on his body.

Signs of behavioral addiction:

  • You are obsessed by the activity you are carrying out.
  • You may have social problems.
  • You are doing this behavior over and over again and find it hard to stop regardless of its consequences.
  • People around you are demanding you to seek professional help.
  • You always hide doing this behavior.
  • You always feel depressed.
  • You feel anxious when not doing that behavior for enough time.

About treatment: it is still arguable about the cause and the method of treatment of addictive behaviors like gambling or social networking. Many think of behavioral addiction or also called process addiction as a disease while others don't think so.

Professionals debate about whether good control of the behavior such as scheduling it or something like that or medication is necessary to overcome the problem. That lack of agreement among experts causes problems with prevention and treatment methods for addictive behaviors.

What happens in your brain?

When you start doing an activity you like, an increase in the level of dopamine and serotonin (the neurotransmitters responsible for pleasure as mentioned in this post) is increased in the brain making you feel high. And that what brings you back.

How to overcome process addiction?

  • At first you should take care of your overall health; good sleeping and nutrition have strong impact on how your brain works.
  • Seek help and encouragement from people around you.
  • Search for a healthier habit to replace your addictive habit.

Getting Bitter Or Better? 7 Simple Ways to Bring Harmony and Healing Into Your Life

How Are You Dealing With Anger?

Anger is suffering which many people do not realise. It is one of the reasons there are so many estranged families in society today and it is no surprise we become bitter rather than better when facing anger.

A couple who simply do not know how to treat each other anymore or parents who feel they have the right, even responsibility, to discipline their children with aggression.

Some people think it is normal to live in a household where shouting and saying hurtful things is acceptable behaviour and even bring this kind of aggression to the work environment.

What Is The Reason For Anger?

Whatever the reason for your anger perhaps it is time for peace.

A life filled with anger cannot be called a happy life. Some people consider anger to be the source of their power. It gives them the illusion of respect, but not in reality. In others, anger is a defence mechanism that is supposed to protect them, but it actually puts them in harms way.

Sometimes the realisation is not what comes first, but trouble and a breakdown of communication at home or work. Shouting louder does not result in the connections you desire.

Trying to control others will make you even more bitter, it just creates a vicious, losing cycle. If you realise that change needs to be made, you have to also realise that you can't control the feelings and opinions of others

To learn how to rekindle your love and get less angry less often you will need to realise the hurt you are doing to yourself and seek help, eventually bringing harmony and healing into your life.

7 Simple Ways to Bring Harmony and Healing Into Your Life

It will not only be you with the problem with anger, it often takes at least two. So if you want to stand up for change, not only on behalf of yourself, but for the sake of your entire household, your work colleagues or maybe even your employees make a decision to shift your focus from bitter to better.

Asking yourself the following questions could provide you with a strategy for a simple life and for positive energy to flow.

1. Could I have interpreted the provocation differently, if so how?
2. Could I have been more positive about the other people involved?
3. Could I/should I have avoided the whole situation?
4. Was the anger justified?
5. Could I have expressed my anger differently?
6. Were there other things that affected your anger?
7. If you had acted differently how would the outcome have changed?

Transform Judgment into Grace

It is much better to seek out help voluntarily, instead of being forced, help received after being sought proves more effective. You can also find solutions for anger management online.

Not only are online anger management classes convenient and prove very helpful for resolving anger problems, but they serve as a tool for self-development and opportunity to learn more about yourself; a benefit that has a positive impact on all areas of your life.

Behavior-Based Goals 101

Setting goals isn't complicated, but like everything else, there is a right and wrong way to go about it. Making intentions to change your behavior - whether it's to decrease procrastination or be friendlier when you're under stress - can be a lot trickier than creating them to change performance. Here are a few tips to get you started.

Focus on Future Performance

It's cause and effect - today's behavior affects tomorrow's performance. If you're having trouble meeting a performance-based goal you've set for yourself, consider that you might need to change a behavior instead. For instance, many people set targets to increase productivity. But regardless of how fast you type, if you spend all morning surfing the web you'll never meet your intention.

When it comes to behavior-based goals, your focus should be on future performance. Go out of your way executing your behavior-based intentions, stay consistent, and really work hard on changing the ways you handle stress or deal with interpersonal relationships. As you change your behaviors, the results will come.

Give Yourself Time

In some ways, changing your behavior is a lot harder than just increasing your productivity. How we feel, think, and react is second nature to us in a way that answering a certain amount of emails before lunch isn't. So don't be too hard on yourself if you aren't seeing the behavioral changes you want overnight.

Give yourself a realistic amount of time to make changes. You'll find it's difficult to change a behavior all at once. The most important thing is that you improve a little bit every day. Don't give up on your intentions, but don't get upset with yourself if it's harder to stick to behavior-based goals than it is to performance-based ones.

Measure Your Progress

Behavior-based objectives are harder to quantify than performance-based ones for a few reasons. It's not always easy to assign a number value to interpersonal skills or teamwork. It can be hard to track the ways you manage your time or communicate. Sometimes, behavior-based objectives are really subjective. But keeping track of your progress is important if you want to improve.

You may really need to get creative in order to measure your progress, and you'll definitely need to embrace the subjectivity of the process. Write down your thoughts and feelings. Rather than making charts and graphs, consider journaling to keep track of your positive and negative behaviors.

Creativity Is For Everyone

Creativity is a habit, a behavior--a choice with which everyone is born. The gift of creativity is either developed or lost through neglect. Unfortunately in many cases, we are lured away from our gift by our educational systems and even well-meaning parents and friends. However, there are those who receive the encouragement or circumstances to pursue a life of creativity or at least to allow it into some part of their lives.

In his book The Element: How Finding Your Passion Changes Everything, Ken Robinson tells the story of a mother who was concerned that her daughter had ADHD. She was unable to sit still in class and focus on her studies. The mother took her to see a psychologist. After talking to the child for a bit, the doctor asked the mother to join him outside the room and on the way out he flipped on the radio. He asked the mother to look through the opened door of the room. Her daughter was dancing and jumping up and down to the music. The doctor, in his wisdom, turned to the woman and said,"There is nothing wrong with your daughter. She is a dancer; give her dance lessons!"

This was the beginning of an incredible career for world renowned dancer and choreographer, Gillian Lynne (later known as Dame Gillian Lynne). Fortunately there were those in her life early on that understood her potential and were able to offer the direction and encouragement that ignited a spark into a flame of creativity.

There are volumes of stories about those who succeeded in breaking through to their creative lives by ignoring circumstances and living them anyway. As a failing student and with no thought of acting as a career, Dustin Hoffman took his first drama class only because a friend told him no one ever gets an F in drama. As a teenager, Paul McCartney was told by the Liverpool Boys' Choir director that his voice wouldn't fit in and dismissed him. Many creative careers were started by those cast out by the traditional system. So many times the creative spark is camouflaged in the jungle of status quo. It's no wonder why so many are in fear of treading the creative path, to any degree.

I believe that anyone who is willing to take the first steps toward living a more creative life will be blessed with childlike enthusiasm and joy.

"It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child."
~Picasso

You don't have to be Paul McCartney, Gillian Lynne, Dustin Hoffman or even pursue creativity professionally. All the benefits of Living The Creative Life are available to you by just getting in the game. Doing something creative every day gives you a greater sense of well-being and peace. It will add color and fulfillment to all other aspects of your life.

In their book, Ask and It Is Given, Esther and Jerry Hicks teach that the fastest way to manifest anything that you desire is to match the vibration of the desire. E.g., the match for more money would be the vibration of freedom, security and well being. The match for a loving, committed relationship would be much the same as money, as well as the vibration of fun and intimacy.

Establishing a creative practice is one of the easiest and most fun ways of setting up a vibrational field to attract our desires. There are no negative side effects to creativity. Creative pursuits stimulate new growth in the cells of our body, reactivate childhood passions, reduce stress, and add purpose and direction to our lives.

We are all born with the seeds of genius. The definition of genius is "a particular, distinctive, or identifying character of spirit." We are all distinctive; we all have our original ways of demonstrating spirit.

The definition of creative is "marked by the ability or power to create; having the quality of something created rather then imitated." We all have the ability to create something original. It just gets down to a choice to live more creatively, to find things in each day to appreciate and to do what turns us on--to be the creative geniuses we are!!

Mozart summed it up this way...

"Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination nor both
together go to the making of genius. Love, Love, Love - that is the Soul of Genius."

There it is! Love what you do, focus your attention on it, get lost in doing it and genius will find you.

"Only when he no longer knows what he is doing does the painter
do good things."
~Edgar Degas

Sublimate Your Aggressive Energy Through a Positive Way

Within evolution of human civilization, there have been dramatic changes. There has been a continual change in attitudes, practices, rituals, and manners. A tremendous change in human behavior resulted in a revolutionary change in the civilization. As for the behavior, the foremost thing that brings the change and is important to excel is enthusiasm. Enthusiasm can be called a form of excitement or anger in some ways. Especially when we take it in a positive sense. Taking it in a negative way, it is aggression, madness and ultimately destruction.

As attitudes evolved, aggressiveness and rage changed into energy with the coming up of civility. Now, in the present era, with a lot of civilizations existing on one small planet, we see no clear difference in that specific attitude. There are still two aspects that are a positive one and a negative one even within the same civilization. The thing is how to change that negative state into a civil state. For a lot of us, anger is a form of energy as we usually hold the same opinion for this. People who have a lot of verve and gusto are more likely to excel than those who are listless. Your verve gives your mind, energy to work well. It increases your creativity as well.

If our temperament is likely to change every time we encounter the things against our will, we gain a lot of energy in the form of anger. This energy should be sublimated and this can be done in a lot of ways. The most important and beneficial way to sublimate it is to use it in one's interest. Our interests and goals demand energy. If we fulfill the task of our interest with zest we are able to excel in it. Putting our energy, which comes from anger, into our interest or goal is possible because we like to do it.

Interest lightens up the mood and with the completion of it, we are likely to release and use our entire angry attitude that would otherwise be destructive. Destruction does not release anger, it gives rise to it. So the best thing we can do is to make the best use of our own brain. Our thought can make the best or worst use of us. We should think in a positive way. Anger takes over our brain. Educating our mind and having a good control of our emotions can work miracles.

Anger Management and Children: How to Help

Sometimes, it can be difficult to detect problems with anger management and children because feeling and expressing emotions is a natural part of childhood development.

A two-year-old throwing a temper tantrum is perfectly normal and a teenager storming out of the house because her cell phone privileges have been taken away is not an uncommon situation.

The challenge is knowing when behavior is not normal or healthy and when it can lead to larger problems with both development and emotional health. Parents, teachers and caregivers need to be able to identify children who may be having problems with anger.

Addressing concerns early is your best chance at dealing with anger management and children in a responsible and successful way.

Get to know your children.

Every child is unique, and understanding individual triggers, behaviors and resolutions is going to help you determine whether your child has a problem with anger and how to manage it.

When you are able to understand your child and recognize what contributes to particular behaviors, you will know when an outburst, a fight or an angry meltdown is something outside of what's normal.

There are some universal signs that help professionals identify anger problems, but in children these tendencies can manifest in different ways, depending on the character and personality of your specific child.

Remember that children learn by watching. If you can set a good example of how to manage anger, your children will have a better chance of understanding how to deal with their emotions in healthy ways.

Kids who grow up in families and households where there is physical and psychological abuse, a lot of yelling and inappropriate expressions of anger are likely to repeat the cycle.

Demonstrate the right way to express anger. Your kids will learn by watching how you handle yourself and communicate with others when you are mad.

Encourage your children to express their anger.

While you don't want them to fly into a rage every time the slightest thing bothers them, you also don't want to teach them to suppress their feelings. This can lead to unhealthy and damaging behaviors as well.

When you know your child is angry, ask her to talk about her feelings. Find out how to use those negative feelings to a positive advantage. Perhaps exercising, drawing or writing will help soothe your angry child.

You don't want your little ones to feel like it's wrong to be mad. You just want them to know how to soothe themselves and get past the anger.

Don't be afraid to seek professional help for anger management and children.

There are therapists and counselors who specialize in helping families and kids with anger management issues. If your child gets so worked up into periods of anger that you are afraid he is going to hurt himself or other people, you need to get him some help.

Talk to your pediatrician if you need a referral, or look for community resources. In addition to getting help for your child, get support for yourself too.

Surround yourself with people who understand what you're going through and can help you move through the difficult times.

Remember that solving an anger management problem is not something your child can do on his or her own. A child's brain is in a constant state of stimulus and development.

Kids don't know how to property respond to everything they feel. In order to learn the property responses, they need help from the trusted adults in their lives.

Make sure parents, siblings, extended family, teachers, babysitters, caregivers, coaches and other people in your child's life are on board.

This will make dealing with anger problems much easier and a lot more successful.
Take the time to try different approaches.

If one thing doesn't work, try something else.

Taking care of the anger issues that plague your child might require a lot of trial and error. Don't get discouraged and don't turn immediately to medication and drugs.

Summon all of your strength and determination, and you'll help your child get through it.

Understanding your child, modeling appropriate anger responses, encouraging emotional expression and getting the help you need will assist you in facing your anger management and children issues.

Parents And Children's Behavior - Points to Ponder

Learning To Read With Mom Photo, Children, Boys, Family, Books

At home little things are even more important. The behaviors of parents and children have its profound effect. It makes huge difference in parents and children's personality and psychology. Scholar's view in the following paragraph is self-explanatory:

"The beginning of both spouse and child abuse can be found in seemingly insignificant things, such as belittling the abilities and competency of another, constantly criticizing, being insulting or calling names, refusing to communicate, manipulating, causing guilt fleeing, repeatedly making and breaking promises, intimidating, threatening physical harm, making unfolded accusations, or destroying property."

It is a two-way traffic and has its impact evidently in their respective lives both positively and negatively. The point to ponder is to understand individual's rights and responsibilities. They both need to execute it emphatically and judiciously. Any deviation and distortion from the right path at the behest of materialistic gain will deeply affect them alike. A word of caution, they must think out of the box to comprehend the reality of life and its meaning the context of creation.

It is a fact that people learn from their mistakes and failures rather from their success. This particular experience becomes a tool to shape up own house and impart rich culture to younger generations. The transformation of constructive attributes will positively show improvement in personality. It then teaches them that respect is earned through command and not by demand. Here, it is important to emphasize that The Holy Quran highlights 'Dignity' apart from respect. This is the crucial and cardinal intersection that catapults the youth into the orbit of knowledge and wisdom. It gives parents a sense of pride to see their offspring achieve success and fame.

The youth will then be exposed to new vistas of behavior, which follows the foot-steps of wise people and becomes the beacon of light to others. This is the after-effects of adopting and molding individual's personality into meaningful ways. He not only improves upon self but also gathers others into the umbrella of sense and sensibility. At this point, the youth takes over the mantle and starts learning advancement of knowledge and its application. The self-confidence makes him strong and determined in self-improvement and also contributing to the society. It ultimately leads to development of the mind, which synchronizes with self-improvement and personality development.

There are many tools available to achieve success affecting different people in varying circumstances. Steve Tobak says that it is not intrinsic characteristic or personal habits that determine success or failure. It is your behavior. It means; it is an individual's discipline both in home and in working environments. It reflects your attitude, commitments and flexibility to understand and execute the values.

Analyzing the above scenario objectively will focus our mind on the existing circumstances in our society. The life is progressing with an accelerating pace forcing parents and children a daunting task to meet both the ends. It develops cracks in the delicate fabric of family relationship. Both expect more commitments from each other. Hence strained relationship, and families started to drift and seek solace somewhere else. This is the focal point where parents need to inculcate values in children and make them realize where to draw the line. The children need to understand their position and avoid excesses thereby losing their balance in life.

Parents should also realize that children during this era are exposed to more avenues to learn and understand ethical values. Parents who are ignorant of new vistas of knowledge expose lack experience. Their stagnant intelligence and rigidity in life are depriving their appreciation to gauge the situation. It then, denies the necessity to listen and understand to their children's mind. Of-course, their rich experience can be shared with children who in turn analyze it and adopt those values. Healthy interaction and critical discussion with each other objectively can be of great value to both.

How to Deal With Passive-Aggressive People?

woman in plaid blouse and blue denim jacket

The trouble with passive-aggression is that both the giver and the receiver often have no idea what's really going on. In other words, the person who's passive-aggressive (P-A) may know he hates conflict, may know he's feeling a little angry and may know he's covering it up. But he doesn't register how rancorous he really feels.

The person who's the object of the P-A's anger may never know what hit him because the rancor is well disguised. Consequently these incidents go largely unacknowledged for what they really are-hostility.

If you love a passive-aggressive person, you are probably making excuses for him on a regular basis. "Oh he can't help procrastinating, he's got so much on his plate." In truth, he procrastinates finishing the job you need to make you suffer. He never wanted to do it in the first place. Or, you defend his disturbing joke with something like this: "He's such a kidder." Really, the joke was not funny at all. Instead, it was thinly veiled hostility.

Identify hostile behavior.

There's that word again. Hostility. Once you realize the root of your loved one's passive-aggressive behavior is hostility, you can begin to deal with the problem. The first thing to do is stop making excuses for him. After all, he's really behaved in a hostile way toward you. And you've probably let him have his way without calling him on it. Perhaps for years. Now is the time to acknowledge that while the hostility is not overt, it's there, and maybe even more damaging than obvious anger. So what can you do?

Tell him the truth and consequences.

When a P-A is late and causes you to wait, or procrastinates, and puts your project in jeopardy, don't let him get away with it. Be open and honest enough to let him know that he's inconvenienced you. Repeatedly. Let him know that if he does this again you won't wait for him. Let him know that if he procrastinates you'll get someone else to partner with on your project. And then follow through and do it.

Call him on his dishonesty.

If your passive-aggressive mate tells you he supports your efforts to diet, and then fills the fridge with ice cream and cookies, you know one thing. He actually does not support your diet. Actions speak louder than words, and in this case, the P-A is not telling you the truth when he speaks. He is sabotaging you. You need to tell him so in an assertive and respectful way. You may not be able to change his behavior, but at least you have brought the issue out into the open.

When you confront a P-A with the truth about his behavior, you may also point out that it's often just as detrimental to him as it is to you. When he expresses his anger in an unhealthy way, sometimes it causes even more conflict-the one thing passive-aggressives find so difficult to tolerate. When he sweeps an unpleasant issue under the rug, it really doesn't hide the problem-it only prolongs it. Being straightforward with him about his behavior can help you both.

3 Self Help Principles to Effectively Handle Anyone

women's yellow and black sleeveless top

Have you ever found yourself in a situation or predicament where you just can't seem to get along with another person, or merely communicate in such a way for any sole reason at all? Whether it being achieving a certain desire or providing potentially beneficial advice that the selected other can't seem to understand. Feeling like you have tried everything? Fear not-The purpose of this post has you an old, yet very simple but seemingly forgotten self-help principles to aid your irrefutable frustration regarding such a common issue.

There are times in life where we find ourselves bewildered at our abilities to deal with other people, sometimes you're unsure whether it's you, them or the weather (for many reasons) nor come to terms with the complexity of exactly what is making such a task seem impossible.

Listed below are 3, easily digestible principles to keep in mind for effectively handling anyone; that when learnt and practised, will seem effortless. Enjoy.

Self-Help Principle 1: Never critique, complain or castigate.

Let's begin with a short parable. A man with an infamous reputation is often a feared criminal, in this sense, he is considered evil by his wrongdoing and acts of injustice. It is this injustice that society and its conventional values view this person contrary to the norm.

On a particular night in London, dozens of police officers were heard scrambling in and around Oxford Circus tube station as gunshots lit up the night. Screams and despair spread as the night grew older, rumour has it that one of London's most wanted was spotted inside and once noticed, took siege of human lives as form of leverage. Thousands of people listened and waited close behind the human blockade of officers, nothing like it had ever been seen before on the tracks of London. When this man was captured, Captain S. Montgomery stated that the man was unknowingly to the public, an enemy of the state previously turned rogue for reasons undisclosed, "He will disregard all consequences of behaviour," said the Captain, "and will kill in the blink of an eye."

The question we must ruminate is, how did this mysterious man regard himself? We know, because it is only until after finding in the residence of this man evidence that may be mutually exclusive with these intentions. a letter labelled, "To my younger self." And, as it read: "Beneath this vessel was a heart of gold, one that too many, times left cold."

Not too long before this, this man was going about his morning to surprise his girlfriend out-of-town near West Sussex. After he had arrived and noticed another male in the bed. Without saying a word, he leaped through the window and drew his gun, the gun shot and the air shattered. The bullet tore through space and silence fell upon him in its wake. He spoke but his words were lost in the quiet. That was the killer who said "Beneath this vessel was a heart of gold, one that too many, times left cold." The man was sentenced to death. When he was upon his last few hours, do you think he said, "This is what I get for killing people?" No, he said "This is what I get for doing what any man would do."

The point of this story is exactly this: This man did not blame himself for anything. Would you say that is an unusual thought process for criminals? I think not, now ponder this for a minute and ask yourself, if these men and women behind bars do not blame themselves for acts of such sin, what about the people who you and I have come in contact with? People do not criticise themselves, not for anything, no matter the severity or margin that they may be so very wrong by.

B.F Skinner, a world-famous psychologist had proved with his experiments that animals respond and learn much more efficiently when being rewarded with good behaviour and retain that information rather than castigated for poor behaviour. Further studies also proved that the same theory indeed applies to humans. In self-help we must be self-aware and acknowledge that the person we feel the need to correct or critique will probably justify himself/herself for what ever the reason may be. Perhaps even critique us in return?

Do you know of someone who you aspire to change or improve? perhaps a partner, friend, colleague etc. Why not begin with the man in the mirror? This is much, much more profitable and long-term efficient, and is also the pinnacle of self-help improvisation. Remember that before trying to handle others, that you are dealing with creatures of emotion, master this and things will fall in just the right places.

Self-Help Principle 2: Show a little appreciation.

There are roughly eight wants in life that we truly desire, I will label these; the eight things we desire most. We will be elaborating on solely one of these wants in this principle. The principle analysed and laid out is "The desire of importance." If you're interested in the other seven then you can head here.

Majority of these wants are more or less satisfied throughout our journeys, although there is one longing, deep, heart-wrenching desire that is satisfied rarely. I think you guessed it, the desire of importance. Who doesn't like a compliment? One of the most, if not the most sought after craving in life is the gratification of appreciation, hence the word "craving" not desire, but for appreciation and not importance. The person that can acknowledge this is all well, good and possibly on their way. However, to grasp this information and strictly apply it whenever you get the chance, this person will hold people in the palms of their hands.

The desire of importance has been around for centuries, this desire even stems off the infamous quote I'm sure you've heard "We buy things we don't like, to impress people we don't even know, with money we don't even have." It is why the rich build the biggest houses that you and I both know they can't make use of, it is why you feel the need to wear the latest fashion styles, it is why you want to drive the coolest car, this desire even impacts the way you talk about your brilliant partner or children. Some even fall victim into partaking in criminal activities, joining a gang or going as far as your imagination serves you, why? The answer is merely ego, the craving for appreciation, the desire of importance.

An easy way to begin: Bring to the table genuine enthusiasm among your people, appreciation and encouragement to others for small things, lead to a large impact. Positive reinforcement is actually critically important at times but be careful not to flatter. Flattery and appreciation are two very different things, the difference is 'sincerity'. One comes from the 'heart' and the other from the mouth. One is sincere and the other has an ulterior motive.

Again - the difference is 'sincerity'.

One comes from the 'heart' and the other from the mouth. One is sincere and the other has an ulterior motive.

What do average people do? The exact opposite.

If one does not approve or fancy something, they will scold their minions, partners and so on and so forth; if they happen to fancy or approve of it, most of the time they say nothing. Let us stop thinking of ourselves, our accomplishments and our desires. Let's attempt to analyse the person we wish to interact with and try to acknowledge their traits, disregard the flattery and acquire some genuine, real appreciation. Do this often and the people on the receiving end will hold your words tight, for longer than you can remember their faces.

Self-Help Principle 3: Give the person an incentive.

Let us begin with a bite size parable by D. Carnegie. A man is in charge of how he spends his time, this man enjoys fishing as his selected hobby and often spent the summertime in Maine. "I Personally am fond of strawberries and cream," said D. Carnegie, "but I have began to notice, fish prefer worms." This brilliant man did not think about what he wanted whilst fishing, he thought about what the fish wanted. So why not use this perfect little allegory and apply it when fishing for people?

Why be futile and converse about our wants? We are interested in what we want and others are interested in what they want, you may seldom stumble upon the occasion where others are also interested in your wants as you share a common goal or desire. But the rest of us are like you, only invested in what we want. Do you see where this is heading? The only way to strike influence and be able to handle somebody in these occasions is to converse about their wants, their desires, and you know what else? You have to show them how to get it.

Visualise yourself in a future situation where you are, the one attempting to get somebody to do something or change something. For example; You want your child to stay in and refrain from going out as they have an exam to attend the next morning, don't stand there and lecture them talking about what you want, we all know the answer and reasoning behind your want; but instead show them how heading out may impact the outcome of their grade scores and achieving that future opportunity.

Another parable to provide insight is; Mr Ralph Emerson and his son were trying to get their calf into the barn, however they inevitably made the common mistake and were only thinking about what they wanted. Can you guess what the calf was thinking about? If you've caught on you would assume (and you're correct) the calf is thinking only of what he wants, so the calf had centred his weight and refused to move. A bystander, the housemaid had been observing the entire situation, unbeknown to Ralph and his son, she had a broad perception of her surroundings, she thought of what the calf wanted; so she placed her maternal finger inside the calf's mouth and let the calf suck on her finger as she patiently guided him into the barn.

Tomorrow you may find yourself in a situation where you want to persuade somebody to do something. Before any form of communication, stop and ask yourself the question: "How can I make this person want to do this?" This question will not only stop absolute inefficiency and possibly embarrassing conversations ending with futile chatter of your desires, but give the person an incentive to do something. He who is capable of doing this, has the universe with him.

Message From the Universe: "Fool Me Once, Shame on You, Fool Me Twice, Shame on ME!"

Photo of Men Pointing To Each Other

"Speaking of ships silently passing in the night...

Even your own path crossing with a complete stranger, on a sidewalk, down the hall, or at Starbucks, on this holiest of adventures, amongst the billions now alive and the zillions who could have been, means so much more than most can even comprehend. Suffice it to say, however, that in such moments these fellow adventurers are closer to you than a brother or a sister, no matter who they are.

You are the "King" of the world,
The Universe"

Everyone that you will meet in your lifetime will have an impact on you and your well being. Some will change who you are for the better and others will make you live with regrets as to what did you do to deserve such encounters. You will come across some vampires that their sole purpose is to drain you from everything that you have and once emptied, will jump to the next victim and live you there, laying in a puddle of pain. Many will suffer from the same predicament, and stop trusting anyone else in their lives because of just a few bad apples/vampires. As you can understand the point of the story here is that people will change you as a person, because of their behavior. Just like a chameleon, changing colors as they bounce from one object to another, your personality depends on who you meet or come across with. Do you think this is the way to go? Aren't you suppose to be who you are, regardless of others behavior? Why should it depend on anyone else's malicious act on you for you to become just like them? The expression "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me"is applicable. Learning from mistakes and moving forward is crucial to all aspects of your life. Do not allow to make the same mistakes over and over again, especially if it's by the same person. It is hard to predict anyone's attention for that matter, but be vigilant and pay attention to signals, sudden change of behavior, things that seems to be odd or unnatural to you. Once you see them erupting, take immediate action and do not allow more problems to sink in. Work on protecting yourself first and foremost, and the rest can be handled the way you see fit.

I am not saying that everyone will look for ways to take advantage, because there are just a few who do that but because of them, it leaves everyone else wonder the kind of screwed up society we live in. Don't allow this to change you as a person or allow you to become like them. Continue doing the things that you used to do, such as helping others in need. In this case, avoid to pay it forward when it comes to being taken advantage of, as you do not want to do the same to others. Follow your gut feeling that by doing good to others while someone did something bad to you is breaking the link, the bad connection that creates so much anger and frustration to others. You want to avoid this at all cost. Something very important to add is to never judge anyone as you do not understand the kind of battle they are living with. Some people might be always smiling or looking happy but the reality is that they may suffer from severe depression and other kind of illnesses. Not taking this in consideration can push you to retaliate in the wrong way when someone is having a bad day because of whatever reasons. When someone is mean to you, try to understand that it is NOT your fault nor your actions that triggered this anger. Something else is lurking in that person's mind that pushed them to behaving aggressively towards you.

I'm Not Perfect

                  Woman Walking on Sand Dunes

I lost my cool today. One person pushed my buttons all day today and I finally just bit back. There are tons of excuses I can make for myself and my diminished patience. Lack of sleep. A head cold that's been plaguing me. The way the person was treating me all day. Etc.

But none of those excuses make me feel better about my behavior. Justifying my behavior does not make my behavior any better or any less demeaning. I was hurtful. And no matter what is happening around us, there is no reason for us to be hurtful.

Normally, I just take a step back and take some time away from a situation that is making me uncomfortable. I'm truly not sure why I did not tonight, but this experience is a good reminder to me that we always have more growth to do and that we are all human. No matter how much growth we do, there will be times when we lose our cool and when we are not proud of our behavior. The point of growth is to minimize these occasions though.

The point of growth is also to be able to look at a situation after the fact where you may not have behaved at your best and learn from it. What could you do differently? What were the events that happened-the triggers-that lead up to you losing your cool? Being able to analyze a situation and find what lead up to your behavior will help keep you from doing it again.

Another aspect of growth is not beating yourself up over past mistakes. Yes, I let a situation get the best of me today, but what can be accomplished from me sitting here berating myself for hours after the fact? Isn't it much more productive to just admit that you had a misstep and review what happened so that you can avoid it in the future? That's what I believe.

I believe that life is about learning from your missteps, and growing and changing. I believe it is not about being perfect, but rather being willing to admit that you are imperfect. Being able to see where you want to get to, not just with your career or family, but personally. Deciding the type of person you want to be in your life and figuring out a path to get there. Taking the time to take hard looks at your own behavior, admitting when you don't like what you see, and making the appropriate choices and taking the steps to change it.

So, who do you want to be?

Who Are You and Who Do You Want to Become?

Have you ever looked at yourself closely in the mirror and asked yourself who are you? It is a very self levelling activity and might surprise you when you get the answer.

Who are you is an open question. It demands more than one word answers so what will you say?
A client of mine once answered that she was a wife, a Mother, a daughter, a niece, Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, the Easter bunny, a magician and mind reader - and a few others besides and she was right. Most of us have many facets. But does it really answer the question, or are we just attaching labels to ourselves?

Look inside and ask who are you.
To give a real insight into who we are we need to look deep within ourselves. We need to explore our reactions to situations. We need to understand why we react in that way, what was the determining factor or where did we learn that behaviour. We also need to evaluate our values as a person. What do we believe, why do we believe that and where does that belief originate?

Who we are is a mixture of all those things. We are complicated and complex. We are individual yet similar. We are unique yet still have traits and characteristics that are the same as other people. What distinguishes us from each other. What makes us like or not like anyone else?

Most of us spend our waking moments thinking either about the future, what it might hold and what we want to do and become, or about the past, how it has affected us and what might have been if only...

However much we might like it, the past cannot be re-lived and the future is impossible to experience. All we have is the present and to be able to lead happy and fulfilled lives we need to know and understand exactly who we are.

In my work, I find that coaching people on how to answer this question fully leads to my own life being examined. I have done it now many times but I still find something new about myself each time. I have discovered what I am good at and what I should probably not try again. I know for sure what I like, what I don't like and what I want to achieve.

Focus on yourself - you have permission
The first time this happened I felt a little guilty as it was the client who I was focussing on and my actions seemed self-indulgent. I now realise that I am a far better coach because I did do it, and furthermore continue to do it.

Some clients also feel a little awkward the first time they take part in this exercise. Many of us were taught as children that this sort of self indulgent activity was sinful or selfish. We should be concentrating on others not ourselves.

We are taught that we need to strive to become better people, to be more and do more in order that we may have more. Although there is nothing wrong with having dreams or ambitions, more often than not these have been borne out of a feeling that we are not good enough to begin with.

Not having a good understanding of who we are, or being confident about ourselves and abilities leads to problems in later life. Success and ability is judged in our society, not by ourselves, but by others. Parents, teachers, lecturers and bosses will all have given their opinions on your capabilities. It is difficult not to internalise these comments and make them reality.

Who do you want to become?
We are pre-programmed as a species to "fit in" or be accepted. This need can lead to behaviours such as passive people pleasing to the other extreme, becoming manipulative or abusive. Knowing yourself is no sin, and it certainly is not selfish. It should be encouraged as a platform for personal growth and a way of becoming a more selfless individual.

The consequence of not finding out who you are will likely be that you will stay the same person as you are now. This is a good thing if you are truly happy with yourself. If you are not happy though, you will never get to be who you want to become.

So, I have a little question that you might like to spend some quality time reflecting on today:

Just who are you?

Rude Behavior? Walk On By

Man in Gray Suit Jacket Holding Yellow Banana Fruit While Making Face

It's inevitable: if you interact with other human beings, you're going to be subject to an assortment of slights, glares and smirks (if not downright rude gestures). Whether their behavior is intentional or not, the driver that cuts you off, the person in front of you in the "15 items only" line with 25 items in their cart, the sales person who refuses to make eye contact as they text away on their phone--are all annoying.

Sure enough, you fume, you have a conversation with yourself about how rude these people are; how you would never behave that way. You are justifiably irritated and you stay that way for the better part of your day. You then inflict your foul mood on whomever you encounter-your co-worker, child, partner, friend. Suddenly you're all thumbs, you drop things, you can't find what you're looking for and your back is acting up again.

Like Attracts Like. No big surprise. Like attracts like, energetically speaking, and when you're in a rotten place, you cease to perceive the goodness all around and in you. You can only relate to things that match in some way, your foul mood.

The solution is not to pretend you weren't slighted or dissed--you were. The solution is to recognize the behavior as something you don't want in your life, and refuse to attach to it. In short, don't cling. Don't latch on to the person's rudeness as if it were a life preserver and hang on to it for all you are worth. Let go. Immediately, totally, completely. They were rude, yes. You don't like it, fine. It's over.

You see, it's not the slight or the cutting-in-front that hurts you, not really. You may have to spend 5 more minutes in line than you intended, and you may have to remember to pay more attention to potentially irresponsible drivers, but there's no real harm here.

You're irritated, annoyed, but not damaged beyond repair. Unless you make it so.

The more you fume, dwell on the slight, rehash it endlessly in the theatre of your mind, the bigger it gets, and yes, then you can do damage to yourself over this truly insignificant event.

You have better things to do with your life; your time on this glorious planet. If you can, forgive the person (who knows what's going on in their life?). If you can't, that's all right too, but at the very least, let go and walk on by. You will be the happier for it.

A Very Special Secret

Have you ever wondered why some people attract success? How often do you look around and say, but I am much more talented than him, or, he never seems to work and I work really hard, or even, how on earth did he get all that money?

I think we all have and the answer is very simple, but it is so simple, we cannot believe that it really is the reason.

There are only two ways that these things can happen, that is, the people who are successful are using this "secret" and don't realise it, or they know the secret and are just following the simple formula.

Oh sorry, there is a third way that you can amass wealth and that is by being really competitive, ignoring your family, not caring about others and using force to MAKE things happen. This is only a good idea if you are prepared to pay the price. Unfortunately, when you adopt this system you are always watching your back, you are always stressed and what you get is never satisfactory and often not permanent.

When you are not in harmony with universal laws you never feel like you are 'in the flow' If you are forcing things to happen and always feel in competition, STOP, you are doing it all wrong.

So what is this secret? Well it is something that has been programmed OUT of us over the years and it is simply what Wallace Wattles calls the 'CERTAIN WAY'. I always think how clever those words are as they have two distinct meanings and both are relevant.

Firstly 'certain' means without doubt, and it also means specific. It is very relaxing therefore to know that provided you follow instructions to the letter, you will get specific guaranteed results.

We are told in The Science Of Getting Rich that obtaining wealth is in fact a science and like all science it is governed by laws or principles, therefore once we learn those principles we can obtain wealth with ' mathematical certainty'.

Most of these principles and laws let you know when you are not doing things correctly, exactly like the law of gravity, we adjust our behaviour to take this law into account, for example we know that if we step off a cliff we are only going to head one way, so we adjust our behaviour to avoid that situation.

The whole formula behind getting rich is based on the law of CAUSE and EFFECT, that is like causes ALWAYS cause Like effects.

If you do this, that will happen. Simple isn't it? Yes, but you will find believing and following these simple teachings the hardest thing you will ever have to do because they sometimes go against everything you have learned to date.

Getting exactly the same result every time from an action is a basic premise to how the universe works. Just imagine the chaos, if every time you did something, you got a different result. That might even be quite funny for a few seconds but nothing would be dependable and very quickly things would just disintegrate and go into meltdown.

This is in fact very good news because all universal laws are never changing and wherever you live, whatever your circumstances, provided you understand this principle you will always get the same result every time guaranteed.

All results in science depend on results being duplicable and once you have your theory, you can get others to test them under the same conditions and circumstances and get the same results.

So if one person follows the instructions and achieves the results, that is proof that the system works. This can only fail because you change the cause and therefore get a different effect. In my experience teaching this, every time I hear someone say it does not work, they have always done things in line with their existing beliefs and as a result have made small changes to the cause and obviously will get a different result.

Systems work, people fail.

It is our limiting beliefs that are responsible for ALL our difficulties in life once we have faith and belief in ourselves and trust the universal laws EVERYTHING changes. You cannot expect change if you do not change and the fact that there are guaranteed results once you do, what are you waiting for?

If you can see someone else has done and achieved what you desire belief in your ability to also do it is ALL you need.

Up until 1956 medical science believed that the human body was physically incapable of running a mile in under 4 minutes. It was a good job that no one told Roger Bannister because he did it. That in itself is amazing enough, but during the next two years over 50 runners achieved what was thought to be an impossible feat. What then had happened? Simply other athletes had been shown it could be done, so their limiting beliefs were removed and they knew it was achievable.

That is no different for you, you can achieve anything you can see others doing, but like an athlete how much effort are you prepared to put in. Just because you cannot run a mile in four minutes, does that mean it cannot be done? Make sure you are prepared to put in the effort and accept that there will be set backs but as long as you stay focused on your desire or clear mental image, there is no way known that you cannot achieve it.

People often say that their ENVIRONMENT is holding them back, rubbish, just another bit of negative programming that you can call up each time you need an excuse as to why things have not gone to plan. There are so many stories of rags to riches that it is impossible to pick just one as an example, but you know hundreds, so just pick your favourite and keep reading it until you realise that you could also do it.

Another well worn excuse for having not achieved your desired position in life is the fact that you have not got TALENT and ABILITY. That is a real myth as many very able and talented people end up working for the class dunce. It seems that talent and ability are things that may attribute to not being rich, as there are more talented and rich people who are poor than talentless people who are rich. Think about that!!

Having knowledge, education and a great BRAIN are not even a prerequisite for getting rich and there is ample evidence to support that.

Too many people have been taught that being THRIFTY and SAVING will lead to riches. Sorry another myth. I am not saying be irresponsible, but how many people who have saved for a 'rainy day' do you know who are rich. In fact those people can be in the middle of a raging storm and still refuse to touch their savings. It just doesn't make sense.

Access to CAPITAL will never guarantee success and lack of capital has never held anyone back who has the vision and desire to get started. Actually Wallace Wattles says that capital is part of the result not the cause.

Great isn't it to realise that none of the above things can stop you being rich. Obviously there are things that you should consider when starting a business e.g. doing something you are good at or enjoy is a good start and being in the right area is also important, starting an ice cream shop in the Antarctic, may not be the brightest idea but with just a few considerations, where you are may be just perfect.

Here is a passage from the classic The Science Of Getting Rich.

"If you have no capital, you can get capital; if you are in the wrong business, you can get into the right business and if you are in the wrong location, you can move to the right location."

So what excuses can you find now. Just get started and if you are already in business, look at your business through fresh eyes using all the above information to help you change things.

Receptive Behavior

Ultimately, habits are just an affirmation, really. With that, this article begins. Yes, we have a choice of what habits to have in life and existence as our path is our own. I mean, it is a choice of being drunken and unconsciously doing the bad and letting the bad happen or doing the good and making that happen.

When reality is thought about, sometimes even the best of us and especially the worst of us think that things are out of our control. Well, through habits good or bad, they really are. Sometimes, I think of reality like the grooves of a compact disc, wax record or tape recording as I am sure that many do, only the habit patterns and "grooves" are more complicated and permanent, and there is more of choice in outcome also. So, I can honestly say: If it is good, it is our virtue. If it is bad, it is our fault.

It starts with behavior and ends with a habit however you want to put it. If it is bad, like alcohol or cigarettes, it is called a negative addiction. If it is good, like exercise, cleanliness or something beneficial, it is called a positive routine. My point is, it all starts with behavior without question and ends with a habit, good or bad. Now, chance has its place, but the habit is the main thing that causes the rest of it to work or not work in its totality whatever the plans ultimately. Sure, things may not go exactly to plan, but the total workings of something depends on the attitude it is done with. You may or may not agree with me totally, but you have to admit, behavior and habit have something to do with everything we do, achieve or have or the lack of it.

So, I would like to end this way: Receptive behavior is always a positive, especially when genuinely understand what is going on and how to act accordingly in the situation and beyond it. The only time when it is a negative is when we are receptive to the wrong things as mentioned above, but when we take in the right things and take them to heart as habits, that is when receptiveness is the best. After all, good habits are easier in the longest run than bad habits, although bad habits may look easier in a destructive "quickly power grabbing" way sometimes. Good habits give you life, bad habits take it away.
