Persistence Is Taking Rest and Taking the Plunge All Over Again

It has been a year hiatus and here I am again, have newfound courage and kindness to myself to endure toward a new journey to a writing, solitary world. Yes, coaxing myself to get busy again and share the wisdom gained from "adulting", and making time believing--- in the goodness of the universe to those who have the courage to persist, despite limitations and all. This, I guess, can make a lot of difference to this mundane existence.

When I stopped writing articles, I had this notion that I have been repeating myself. It seemed that I have reached the peak of my creativity and had to go slow, down to the valley, where crest of inactivity buried the passion to the center of the earth--and, hoping that one day, such would be reborn, like a phoenix from ashes. So, here I am--vibrant and vigor-laden, ready to gamble again, against the discriminating eyes of the editors, and whims of those who are fond of reading articles with sense.

From the different situations I have been in to the new relationships sought and cherished to the lessons learned from relating to the love and hatred formed along the way to the endless attempts to become a better version of myself to the long and winding road to contenment..whew!

Such a journey made me more loving to myself, more understanding of other persons around, kinder to those who needed the most kindness and all.

Still, the incompetence of becoming like "human king,"hinders sanity to become saner, and the humanity to become more humane.

Each one deserves the chance to fully develop into a magnificent creature of the ONE who chose all of us co-existing and learning along the way toward maturity and all.

When one reaches the belief that everyone is valuable, liken to a kitten to its cat and a child to his mother, only then could our existence be meaningful and uplifting. Nobody deserves to experience pain from immaturity of some, cruelty of few, and insanity of one.

All we need is love. Just like my passion to writing, has been invigorated and all when kindred soul coaxed me to take up my parked pen again, and let the words find their own glory, when they have fallen to the right places-- worthy to be heard and taken as wisdom to everyday living, loving and learning journeys.

So, take a rest if you may, but please don't stop pressing on after... with your passion, whatever it is.

The Wall Of Frustration For One Person Is The Perseverance Factor For Another

Scientifically, perseverance is everything. Talent is a reality, but it does not count as much as perseverance or persistence. Bluntly, I say, responsibility is power, especially for yourself. In this game of life, we can try to cheat, but in the end we only cheat ourselves because we know fully what we did that we seemed to escape from. The ultimate wall of frustration is not to have that perseverance that does not recognize failure genuinely.

The rich and powerful get more rich and powerful, because losing is not genuinely accepted in the mind and cheating is not an option either. Mistakes, and weakness are simply training for perfection and strength.

The ultimate check and balance is honest persistence and real perseverance, if we do not have those two things we cannot achieve anything in life genuinely. The genuine wall of frustration then is to want ease and luck to be the law instead of what really is the law, work and persistence.

Oh, yes, cheating looks fun until you catch yourself genuinely and unrealistically even in the most "unbeatable" cheating situation. Sure, you can "get away with everything in the eyes of others", but what about yourself, that is the difference that counts, you cannot beat yourself ultimately.

If you want to genuinely climb to the mountain top, you cannot use the helicopter or chair life, it will never be the same as genuinely climbing. Reality has to be genuinely and persistently lived, and talents must be developed to genuinely get anywhere. I remember when my Dad told me about patience, understanding and tolerance being an adjunct to discipline, thought then control. Sure, I instantly understood, but, you must develop from within without wanting any part of the "way of the lucky masses" that has an outside to inside approach to life that is too pragmatic instead of genuinely creative and original from within. In fact I call patience, understanding, tolerance, discipline, thought, then control "The Big Six". Without those big six genuine factors, everything in life comes down to nothing, and without persistence and perseverance, everything is really nothing but gambling. I know, that is harsh seeming, but at least it has the benefit of being the honest and realistic truth about it all.

Life and existence are knit with what we are, not what we want to be anyway, however we try to look at it all.

Think Young (By Linda Hancock)

I usually smile when I am around young children but there isn't a bigger grin that when I am with my three-year old granddaughter, Nariya. We spent some time together this weekend and she reminded me of so many things in life that adults often forget:

  1. Be curious - Talk about questions! "Grandma, how did you get here?" "Where did you get those cards?" "Do you have Paw Patrol?" Each answer was quickly followed with another one of her questions. She loves to learn and knows that asking questions is a great way to get information. No assumptions on her part. Just questions.
  2. Share with others - Right in the middle of a project she would say "Just wait Grandma. I need to tell dad." Then she would run to her dad and share the new information she had gained. "Dad, Grandma came in her car." Or "Dad, Grandma has cards".
  3. Relax - It was within the first couple of minutes of entering the office that I noticed she had kicked off her shoes and was enjoying life in sock feet. What a great example for all of us!
  4. Try new things - It didn't take long until Nariya figured out that she could turn the lights off and on using a remote control even without coaching! I was surprised when I heard her dad knocking at the door. Nariya had figured out how to lock it! Adventure is her life fuel.
  5. Adopt persistence - I am not sure how many times she asked her dad if she could PLEASE have the candy that I had given her. She was clearly told that she couldn't open it until after lunch but that didn't stop her from asking again.
  6. Connect - This little one can quickly melt a heart with her practiced wink, quick hug and charming smile.
  7. Plan ahead - When she was leaving, I thought Nariya would say "Bye" but instead she announced, "I'll come again" and then turned to her dad and asked, "Are we going for a Slurpee now?"
All of the above are lessons that each of us can learn if we are willing. As we age, it is easy to lose our curiosity and get stuck in a rut. Often, we state that we are too busy to share information or enjoy time with others. Our conversations can be self-centered and lack intimacy.

The "shoulds", "have to" and "musts" of life can steal opportunities to relax and connect with others. Instead of kicking off our shoes and sharing a laugh, we run until we have blisters and work until we are exhausted.

And as for the future, we might give up rather than being persistent. We often don't have reasonable goals that stir our passion so there isn't any point in even trying to plan ahead.

This week I challenge you to think and act more like a small child. Soak up the moment. Ask good questions, relax, try something new, connect with others, set some goals, make plans and move forward in life with a healthy persistence!

I know you can do this - even a three-year-old can!

Benefit Yourself (By Joshua Clayton)

We all do love to win without exception, but who loves to train, not cheat, and do it without short cuts of any sort? I will give you a sort of answer: The person who fully and really wants the unadulterated achievement. Cheating and other "tricks" are for people who do not really want to achieve anything genuinely worthwhile, but the genuinely special people earn what they want, fully earning it with love of what they are doing fully.

Realistically, there will be those who disdain this reality and cheat, but for the few that do not. Here I am, writing about the reality that if you really love something you will do it in an original way that is devoid of ease, cheating and weakness.

My girlfriend Diane loves to say and mean that we all have spiritual contracts that we signed up for. I agree with this. But to cheat, or escape or to destructively fear is to break those contracts however "good" or "bad" we made those contracts and realities.

I realize that sometimes there are pauses in progress where I do want to "cheat" or "escape". I realize though that to go through with reality without cheating it is better than living in a fantasy world where nothing is really achieved and everything is cheated. Call it intensity, or call it what you want to, but indeed, I call it being honest with myself as well as others. This is where character is born in reality. Where do you think the saying comes from that "character is doing the right thing when nobody is looking" really comes from anyway? Yes, exactly. The best people have this gift, the worst people will do anything to escape responsibility whether anyone notices or not. So, the ultimate key to benefitting yourself is character. Without it, you are a cheater and if you "succeed" at cheating, you are a hidden weakling. With genuine character, you are a winner. So, I end with a quote on perseverance, determination and perseverance from United States President Calvin Coolidge:

Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
Persistence and determination are the key to all successful soul contracts, not just in my opinion, but in my universal reality.

An Unbelievable Story Of Failure And Persistence - Part 2 (By Sergei VanBellinghen)

Following the first part of my unbelievable story of failure and persistence, this last portion shows you how I turned obstacles and tenacity into boldness and audacity. You have to realize that when back up into a corner, you only have two choices: either fight or give up. What would you do?

Now, let's continue from where we left off in the initial story. It was around 8 o'clock in the morning when I arrived at destination, the train station in the center of Warsaw, Poland. The last thing I ate was on the train, early the previous evening and at this point, I had nothing left.

After getting some water from the sink in the men's rooms, I thought to myself "What to do, hitchhiking again?" "No, from here, it is impossible." As I watched all the trains, I thought "Yes, of course, the train!" To my persistence, I now had to add boldness and resourcefulness.

Persistence Thinking
I went and looked at the schedules for the next train going closer to my journey's end. The nearest place was Berlin, Germany. There was a departure three hours later, at 11:25 am. I had no choice but try to get in. And I begin to think about the best way to sneak in without a ticket.

So, I looked at earlier trains to observe how the conductors checked passengers. Their actions were precisely the opposite of what I knew. They were not checking tickets when you enter the wagon but while the train is on its way. In Ukraine, there is a conductor for each carriage. And they check passengers for tickets before they enter the wagon. All of a sudden, my persistence grew into audacity.

Here was my chance! I waited for my train to Berlin and got into the last wagon. I left my luggage in one of the compartments. Then I realized that there were not a lot of people in my wagon. So, I started to walk along all the wagons and back. This way, I could see any ticket controller coming my way.

Persistence Forcing Chance
Suddenly, my heart raced as I saw three controllers checking tickets in the back of the wagon. My only option now was to walk to the first cart. I then locked myself in the restrooms and waited for fate. There, I thought about all plausible ways as I gathered my persistence and determination to overcome this barrier.

I heard one of the conductors knocking at the door and asked me for my ticket. So, I unlocked the door and told him that it was in my luggage in the last compartment of the train. He decided to walk with me to the final wagon to verify my ticket.

But as we were passing in a wagon full of people, with me in front of him, several persons stopped him and asked questions. In holding him back, I felt the urgency to continue walking, hoping that he would not call for me to wait. Persistence and boldness were compelling me to keep going.

An Incredible Blend of Persistence and Audacity
I then went straight to my compartment where I closed the curtain over the door. There, I was alone, and so, I spoke to divine intervention asking for the conductor to forget about me. My heart was pounding so strongly that every footstep was putting me on guard but he did not come.

I felt somewhat relieved. However, worse things were going to happen. I fell asleep of exhaustion for around an hour until another conductor came in, pulling the curtain. This time, it was a woman. She said "Your ticket sir?" So I gathered all of my persistence. And then, with all seriousness and a lot of audacity, I said "Your colleague has already checked my ticket. So I believe it to be enough, don't you think so?"

The woman looked at me, nodded a yes and left without another word. I was even surprised at my audacity as she closed the door behind her and walked away. A few minutes later, German and Polish customs agents came in to check my passport for a few seconds and left. I realized that we were then on the virtual borderline between Germany and Poland.

Creativity through Persistence
The first city we stopped at, in Germany, had to be Frankfurt. So I looked out the window, only to see the three Polish conductors who were on the train, walking away. They finished work. I then looked in the corridor of the wagon and saw new controllers, German this time. This time, I knew that my persistence and playing a poker face would get me nowhere.

Therefore, I decided to leave the train and find another way to make it to my final destination in Belgium. I had taken the train in Germany years before, and I knew how the national railway was functioning. And so, I had already a plan in mind.

I looked for a city train to Berlin, as there is one every half an hour. There are always two floors in those trains. So again without a ticket, I got into the train. I then calculated that I would need the persistence to play around 45 minutes at cat and mouse with the conductor to arrive in Berlin.

Playing Cat and Mouse
So, when the controller was on the top floor checking people's tickets, I got down to the bottom level. Then I would go back up to always be behind her. I played around with her until she got too close to me. So I decided not to take further risks, got off at the next stop and waited for the next train to come by thirty minutes later.

I got into the next train and began playing the same game until I finally arrived at the central station of Berlin. There, I got some rest sitting on a bench. So far, persistence, boldness, and audacity were paying off. I then looked for a train to Brussels, Belgium.

And there was one at night. Therefore, I went to ask the ticket price and explained to the cashier that I was without money but it was to no avail. Her heart was of stone. She merely told me that usually, the one-way ticket to Brussels is 52 euros, but there is a promotion to 19 euros tonight. It is roughly 23 dollars instead of 62.

Persistence Pushes Me to Beg
So, it was good news, but I needed 19 euros. However, asking or begging is not my style but persistence gave me no choice in the matter. I was not ready to give up, not that close. Thus, I asked a few persons, but they all refused. One lady speaking English listened but started to walk away until she looked into my eyes telling her "Please, I really need to get there."

It made her believe my story. She gave me twenty euros and wrote down her name and bank account so that I may send the money back to her later. I thanked her and went to buy my ticket. When I got into the train twenty minutes after, I was alone in the compartment. I lay down and slept on two seats until morning when we arrived in the "Brussels Midi" train station.

Now I thought about what to do next. I decide to go to my grandmother to have information to find my father. My thoughts ran wild thinking that he might have changed. I took the metro and bus without ticket, again. My persistence to reach my destination kept pushing me forward.

Persistence is Mysterious
While arriving by foot at the bottom of her street, I just saw my grandmother taking out her garbage. When she saw from more than fifty meters away, she hurried up and returned inside her house. Not thinking about anything wrong, I knocked on her door. I believed that she was going to open to me. Well, not at all! Sad, don't you think?

I do not know why and I will never do, but I needed to insist three times on the bell to get an answer. She finally opened, not her door, but the window on the first floor which gave onto the street. Sometimes, persistence really brings us into strange situations.

You would believe that she would be pleased to see me. Well, wrong again! She did not invite me in, me, her own grandson, after twenty-five years of separation. Not even for a coffee! She could see that I was tired from whatever journey I was on. Yet, she just answered my questions very vaguely saying that she did not recognize me until now.

My Bag Pack of Persistence
What a lie! Even at that moment, when she knew it was me, Sergei, her grandson. However, she continued to hang out of her window without coming down and inviting me to enter her home. She said she did not know anything about my father. Then she coldly closed the window without telling me goodbye. And she left me there in the street like a common beggar.

So, do not be surprised if I do not have any affinity with the paternal side of my family. One can only endure so much. I just decided to give up any contact with them, and today, well I build my own family.

"Blood makes you related, but loyalty makes you family" - Unknown
Afterwards, I went to see an old friend, but he was not working in that store anymore. However, one of his colleagues, I do not remember his name, was very friendly and help me reach my final destination with the next train. And so, I took my bag pack of persistence and went on my way again, arriving at the end of my journey four hours after.

An Unbelievable Story Of Failure And Persistence - Part 1 (By Sergei VanBellinghen)

Through this unbelievable story of failure and persistence, you realize that behind every success is an uneasy path. There are fiasco, embarrassing efforts, barriers, setbacks and even, drastic changes of direction. It always is the first awkward steps on the road to be successful in anything you undertake.

This story began in December 2005; I was comfortable with what I had, even if I knew I wanted more. At the time, I lived in Ukraine with my first wife, Marina. I needed some legal documents from Belgium, and for that, I had to meet my evil father which I did not see for twenty-five years. So I was reluctant to go.

For a time, I tried my best to ignore that little voice in my mind. But then, something strange began to happen. The more I tried, the more it felt like something I needed to do.

So instead of fighting my feeling, I gave in and embraced it. I had to make a trip from Ukraine to Belgium without much money. At the start, I had no idea how I was going to deal with all the obstacles and failure. I just knew I needed persistence, and so I set a date and decided to go for it.

My Story of Failure and Persistence Begins
A few days beforehand, I wrote down my goal on ten small pieces of paper and put them everywhere around the house. I had sufficient money to take the train from the city where I lived to Kiev in the cheapest wagon. It carries fifty-four people with no real separated compartment.

I had to keep building persistence on the way. The only thing remaining now was to take action. I planned to make my trip step by step and deal with whatever came my way. Next, I knew that with so little finances, my back would be against the wall. This way, there could not be any second thoughts like backing up.

Comfort is the leading killer of success. Nevertheless, I proceeded. When I arrived in Kiev, in the train station, I went to ask how much would be a ticket to the closest town of the Polish border, and it was the city of Lvov. I then understood my failure; I did not have enough money to continue my voyage.

The Next Step in My Persistence
I asked the cashier if she could reduce the price of the ticket, but she categorically refused. Here was the first barrier, but my persistence was still unshakable. As I walked away, a man accosted me. He said that he was a train conductor and had overheard my predicament. And with what little finances I had, he will get me a place in the train to Lvov.

He told me to come back at noon on platform one near the last wagon and to pay him when I was on the train. So I sat outside in the sun waiting for time to pass by. I met the conductor at the time required and followed him in the train. He gave me a ticket, said that place 51 was mine, and I gave him the money I had left.

I left Kiev around twelve-thirty. Then I tried to sell my watch to people on the train to reach the city of Warsaw, Poland but no one was remotely interested. It was another failure, but I had persistence. However, I understood that I would have no other choice but get off the train when on the border.

Persist or Fail
In the middle of the night, the train stopped two kilometers from the Polish border. The staff had to change the size of the wheels as in Europe the length of the train tracks differs from those in the former Soviet Union. While at the same time, the passport control agents passed by and asked for my passport.

At this point in my story, I will quickly summarize a couple of obstacles as to how my persistence resisted and overcame them. Ukrainian customs tried to get money from me as they usually do. But I was ready for that.

In Kiev before taking the train, I went to the police and told them that I had lost my wallet and was without money or credit cards. So they had to register my complaint and give me a document certifying that I had no money. I showed that paper to customs, and they left me without a word.

Persistence Opens the Door
The train conductor told me that it was time for me to get off the train. When I got off, it was a cold minus 16° Celsius (3° Fahrenheit). As I saw the lights of the Polish border, I started to walk along the road to get there not knowing what to do next. So far, I avoided failure and barriers in my way.

When I arrived on the border, I waited close to the cars that were leaving after customs check. I waited now for thirty minutes in the freezing cold and for persistence to open the door. Suddenly, a Polish customs agent came out of guard post and asked me what I was doing there waiting.

I explained somewhat my situation. The agent said that he would try to help me find a vehicle that was going towards Belgium. I saw him talk and ask so many cars to take me on board but no one accepted. As a result, I waited two more hours in the cold, and I remained strong. I then realized my eyes brows were frozen as well as my eyes lashes.

Persistence and Failure - Factors of Success
But I was determined, like a candle which refused to go off, even when it feels surrounded by a dark storm. A bus stopped, and the Polish customs agent called me up inviting to sit on the front of the bus going to Warsaw. How grateful I was for this young man!

It would take around four hours to reach Warsaw, and I did not want to think at that instant how to get further on my trip. I just wanted to rest for a while and let everything go, so I did. Yet, I had escaped another failure.

I can never be sure if it is the pattern of the subconscious brain, or if it is the law of attraction. But what I do know is that if you set any goal and have so much persistence that finds a way when failure arises, success is pretty much guaranteed.

A Summary of Persistence, Failure, and Belief
It was around eight o'clock in the morning when we arrived at destination, the train station in the center of Warsaw, Poland. But more was to come to test my persistence and see if I could persist over failure. And like it is such a long story, I will continue part two in next Saturday's post.

It is the ultimate success formula as any success expert would call it. I also call it the law of attraction. You may call it the will of God if you wish. Name it whatever you believe it to be. But you need to realize that if you want something, anything, you can accomplish it.

No matter if you believe in the afterlife, you live only once as far as I know and time is running out fast. So be who you want to be and have persistence in all that you desire. It is better to try your best, rather than to have regrets when on your deathbed. So accept failure and make persistence part of your life.

Never Quit, Persistence Is The Way

Persistence attracts opportunity, with those three words, I begin this article. Sure, when you are exasperated, early quitting always sounds good, especially when it all gets "bloody" or hard. When you are tired, some of the greatest successes come after the next wind. I will not say "second wind", because it sometimes takes multiple streams of persistence to succeed, and not any streams of persistence, and just one try without trying again to genuinely fail.

The greatest quitter in the world is never known, because all quitters quit before they succeed or "make it". Rest assured, though, the greatest successes in the world are the ultimate seeming "failures in the beginning". From Gautama Buddha who spent seventy years "going crazy" trying to figure it all out from suffering in the world itself to the "biggest why things in the world" under the Bodhi Tree, to Jesus Christ who "ended" his ministry with assassination by Crucifixion, only to come back in an even better form ultimately, and have one of the greatest mass ministries on Earth bigger than anything else going on Earth. So, what is the greatest persistence in the world? It is one of us if we do not genuinely quit too early.

The only thing that separated Alexander Graham Bell and the rest of the inventors of the telephone, was this, persistence and a simple turn of a screw connecting a wire, also an understanding of vibration and consistency that matched nothing else going. Alexander Graham Bell understood vibration and consistency (knowing it would take a constant and not intermittent current to transmit speech over electrical wires), although it seemed simple, that turn of the screw was the difference between intermittent inconsistency and consistently and productively working, and what stemmed form all of this to full fruition?: Oh, just cell phones, every communication medium on the planet including radio and wireless gadgets like that we use every day. Even though Lewis Latimer really invented, drew and patented the light bulb, and not Edison technically, I genuinely give credit where credit is due and warranted, whatever the realistic consequences. This is what separates Christianity from the other religions in a sense when Jesus Christ said the simply logical statement: "Render unto Caesar what is the property of Caesar, and render unto God genuinely what is the property of God." in the New Testament Biblical Books of Matthew and Mark.

My point and synopsis is as follows, then I will end this article: To live in reality whatever the consequences is success. To follow through with a genuine path is success in every way. That is the synopsis. Success is guts, persistence and genuinely good work and little else. That is the point, take what you need from that, and make it work for you. Thank you for reading.

How to Destroy Bad Habits

Smoking

Have you got any bad habits? Of course, you have, no use pretending otherwise. It's natural and all part of being human. You may want to change them but be honest, you don't find it easy. This article will help you replace them with good habits, one habit at a time.

Quick Exercise

Fold your arms. You didn't have to think about doing that did you? You just did it. However, if I asked you which arm was on top, without checking, you probably wouldn't know. You have been so accustomed to folding your arms a certain way that it's become a habit. The question is, was it a habit which was consciously made or unconsciously made? In this case, I suspect it's the latter. So what, you might be thinking, it doesn't really matter which way I fold my arms. That may be true in this case; however it's not always so.

This Doesn't Feel Right

Now try folding your arms the other way - unless you're a very rare breed, I expect you found it awkward to do and somehow it just didn't feel right, did it? Because you have folded your arms multiple times in the same way, it has become effortless. Such is the almighty power of repetition. Now think about all the tasks you do on a daily basis from showering, getting dressed, making a cup of tea to more complex matters such as driving and you will find that you also do these in a certain way, without consciously thinking.

This is all fine and dandy when it comes to habits which are either good for you or neutral. The fact that you can do all these things so easily is beneficial because it saves you a lot of time and energy. Let's be honest, though, some of your habits are destructive, whether they be a habitual mode of thinking, poor diet, too much alcohol, little exercise or even not charging what you're worth!

Can You Do Something About It?

Yes of course you can. Is it easy? It depends on your definition of easy. It entails the same level of persistence required to create the unwanted habits. I have heard and read many times that it only takes 21 days to change a habit. So I decided to do a simple experiment on myself.

True Story

I noticed I was in the bad habit of leaving the toothpaste cap off and the toothbrush (electric) on the basin instead of putting it back on its charger. I decided I wanted to change this habit and set to it. It took me a good 6 weeks to crack it for the most part and even now, very occasionally, I forget to do it. What I will say, though, is that at the beginning I had to work harder to do this and gradually it's become easier. I don't think I'm totally unconsciously competent yet, which means that I'm still having to think about it. My conclusion is that it takes quite a bit longer to correct a habit than I have been led to believe.

The Practical Part

Let's cut to the chase then and create a strategy for changing habits which puts you in the driving seat.

1. Decide what habit you want to change.

2. Ask yourself on a scale of 1-10 how important it is for you to change that habit (with 1 being low and 10 being high). Providing your answer is 8 or above, you can kill it dead. You also need to make sure that it's really your decision and not someone else's. i.e. what's the benefit to you of changing it?

3. Choose the replacement behaviour.

4. Take the new action consciously.

5. Reward yourself in some way (preferably not with food or drink).

6. If you lapse, merely correct yourself without beating yourself up.

7. Keep practising until the new behaviour becomes permanent.

You can, of course, apply this process to any number of habits you want to change, one at a time.

And, as always, if you know someone who might benefit from this article, please do share it with them - they won't be mad at you for providing them with value. Promise!

The Follow-Through Challenge: Caesar and Nine-Year-Old Jahkil

Man Climbing on Rock Mountain

Caesar, not as in "Caesar's Palace" in Las Vegas, but Caesar, as in Julius Caesar, the man, was truly an amazing individual. If he were alive today, I sincerely believe he'd be the most successful man on the planet, for one simple reason: the dude had incredible follow-through. Whatever he promised his legions, the people of Rome, or his friends, that he would do, he did. Period. Despite an avalanche of apparently unsurmountable challenges, he always came through.

Why on earth, you ask, should this matter to me, here and now? After all, Caesar has been dead for over 2000 years, and our world is vastly different from his. True. But I have learned a lot from his example, from his dedicated, passionate, unstoppable follow-through.

Namely, that goal-setting isn't enough. You see, most of us are great at goal setting. Isn't that what we do every New Year's when we put forth those resolutions? They're really just a set of goals. And don't we (I!) too often find the same goals making their way onto our New Year's resolution list year after year? Boring! Wouldn't it be a whole lot more satisfying to accomplish those goals so you could set new ones in the following year?

I have a friend I dearly love, who has been telling me for the past 5 years that he's going to write a book. A story near and dear to his heart, one I now know so well I think I could almost write it for him - and yet it never makes its way onto a page. He has his goal! To write his book. What he hasn't got, is Caesar's gift for follow-through.

Follow-through isn't complicated, but it does take two primary characteristics: passion for your goal, and the persistence to see it through. A fantastic example of someone who has demonstrated phenomenal follow-through is a nine-year-old boy in Chicago, Jahkil Jackson who when he saw the plight of the homeless, decided to do something about it.

What struck Jahkil is that homeless people didn't even have the wherewithal to start their day, so he created "Blessing Bags," filled with toothbrushes, toothpaste, socks, soap, deodorant, the ordinary self-care things we all need. Jahkil personally distributes the "Blessing Bags" from the back of his godfather's pick-up truck, a truly hands-on young man. Since February of 2016, when Jahkil started his adventure in giving (at age eight!), he's distributed over 2000 "Blessing Bags." His goal is to distribute 5000 by the end of this year.

Now, 2000 "Blessings Bags" didn't appear by magic. It took a whole lot of planning, thinking, creativity, reaching out to resources, figuring out all the what-how-who-where-when. In a word, follow-through. And yes, Jahkil is the prime mover in this. The goal was/is huge! Most of us, myself included, would be daunted by all that it takes to bring such a project to fruition. It took disciplined, consistent effort - supported and nurtured by Jahkil's ardent desire to do good where he believed it could make a real difference. Caesar would be proud.

I invite you to a challenge - the follow-through challenge. I invite you to select a goal, any goal, large or small, that you can feel truly passionate about, and then I invite you to invest your heart and soul into it, to persist! To figure out the steps to getting there, to prioritize the steps, to set deadlines for yourself, to find the resources, to make the effort, to keep going when the going gets tough. To surround yourself with people and thoughts which inspire you, to keep your enthusiasm high when it flags - as it will and does for all of us, even the most successful.

In other words, I challenge you to prove to yourself that you can achieve your goals! And oh, what fun you will have when you do!

The Winners Or Those Who Can Take It Best

Persistence is more powerful than talent or innate ability, although both can help when you have them. Thinking about the art and reality of persistence, some of the greatest things, inventions and work have come out of persistence, even greater than natural talent can yield at times. That reality is what this article is about, and that is what you are going to get in the purest sense of that reality. After all, persistence and genuine desire and practice prolonged productively can make a force of nature out of a person that is superior to "natural talent" and "innate skill".

When I think about the life of a quitter, it is a bloody mess, that is it. If you can survive the bloody messes, then persist and persevere past them, that is when winning starts. Even Michael Jeffrey "Air" Jordan did not make his high school basketball team on the first try before winning all he did in basketball. Indeed, perseverance despite bloody messes and scars is where winning starts, nobody can tell anyone with sense any different either.

A genuine dyed in the wool "lucky" winner in life that has everything really working for them had lots of practice first, and lots of perseverance before genuinely "getting there". That person had so much practice and perseverance that it would look effortless. At least, that is my line of thinking on the realities of genuine winning. That is why genuine winning really is rare, and lottery winners who "get lucky" seem to be a "dime a dozen". Who wants to train and work when it is "easier" to "get lucky" too many rationalize. But when you earn it harder, you lose it harder and keep it better, any genuine winner rightly rationalizes.

Sure, moving "the big iron ball of reality" is a daunting task for so many, as it should be. Effort and earning is better than having it given to you always instead of depending on "easy lucky breaks" because it is appreciated more at least at a deeper level of mind and spirit or subconscious level of mind because of the fact that it was not easy, and it was earned.

After all, some of the greatest tragedies stem from the lucky breaks, unearned and easily given successes without the effort and perseverance to genuinely earn something. After all, life means nothing but the next genuinely great and sustained effort anyhow, and the earned means everything, the given and luckily "come by" means nothing. Not being able to duplicate a success can crush the spirit, being able to be permanently successful through genuine effort makes better and enriches the spirit permanently. Giving up leads to nothing and sustained effort leads to everything anyway.

How to Stay Positive When You're Unemployed

1) Keep a gratitude journal

When you're faced with the fear of not being able to support yourself, or potentially your family, it's easy to get caught up in looking at what you don't have: you don't have an income, you don't have quality food, you can't pay the bills and you're drinking lemonade instead of champagne.

It's entirely understandable, but lethal, to focus on what you are without. You'll feel like a failure, which will prevent you from selling yourself as a winner on application forms and in interviews. You can spin this.

A wealth of psychological research shows that gratitude and happiness go hand in hand. Billionaire Oprah Winfrey has famously kept a gratitude journal since she was young. It's a simple, but transformational concept.

At the end of every day, you write down what happened to make you thankful. Did somebody hold a door open for you? Was your bill a little less expensive than you anticipated? Did your child do something beautiful?

No matter how tough your day was, you can always find something to appreciate. In your bleakest moments, you might find yourself simply writing "I am grateful that my sister let me use her shower" or even "I am still alive." It's in those moments that you'll truly understand the value of gratitude.

2) Treat it like it's your job

You're not unemployed. Your job is to get a job. It's probably the worst pay you've ever had, but if you work hard you'll be rewarded with skills in patience, persistence and, eventually, employment.

Imagine your new boss in a sleek suit, shaking your hand firmly and looking down at you. Would that boss be okay with you, pyjama-clad, strolling into the office at 11am, getting comfortable in front of the computer and opening YouTube?

Right now, you are your own boss. That means you have to get to the office at 9am every day. It means you have to work at polishing your CV, get advice from recruitment agencies, apply for jobs, maybe even practise your special skills or read up on how to improve your application forms and interview techniques.

Take an hour for your lunch, if you would do at work. Finish at the same time as you would do at work. Take weekends off.

This not only helps you get into a routine, but it stops you from feeling lazy and helps you keep track of how much effort you are putting into the job hunt.

3) Take breaks

I don't just mean take fifteen minutes to have a cup of tea (although I don't know what a cup of tea can't cure). I mean take a mental break. When you're faced with constant rejection and a lack of feedback, your motivation can plummet. You only have your own voice to listen to and, after a while, it might start saying "You can't do it", "You keep failing", "You're not as good as the other candidates" or worst of all "You'll never get a job."

What would your best friend say if they heard you talking about yourself like that? If they would say, "Your amazing because you keep trying" or "You're getting closer to the goal with each day, each application form and each interview so don't worry", you've chosen a good friend. Catch yourself when you are mentally beating yourself up. Take a break. Breathe. Tell yourself exactly what that good friend would tell you. Then say it out loud.

Self-motivation is incredibly important for success. It's the spark that will get that application started, that phone call made or that CV written.

4) Talk about it.

Bear in mind, 'talk' doesn't mean 'whine.' Moping is okay in small, infrequent doses but it's also something you just have to break through.

Share your experience with someone you trust. Have your friends or family members ever been unemployed? Ask them about it. How did they feel? What did they do to overcome it? Absorb all the advice you can and use it for yourself. You might (or might not) be surprised by how many people have been in a position similar to yours. This is not only the age of redundancy, but the age of people who feel freer to regularly change jobs and chase dream careers.

5) The Golden Rule: Never Give Up

You are not going to remain unemployed for ten years. It's not going to happen unless you work exceptionally hard at being unemployed or have unresolved psychological or physical issues blocking your way.

It might take months, it might take longer than a year, it might not be your dream job, but you are inevitably going to be employed. You are going to be financially supported somehow during your unemployment whether that be by savings, a parent, the government, a spouse or friend. There is always a way for you to get help. It can be agonisingly difficult and you might learn lessons about your pride, but it can be done.

I recently met a successful, vibrantly happy man who has a history of unemployment. When he was homeless, he had every right to dwell on this pain and fear. Instead, he used the golden rule to weather him through his storm. He had been employed before and knew he could do it again. He had recovered from an addiction and, because of that, knew he was strong enough to recover from homelessness. He had many more years of life ahead so he could try again. And again. And again.

You'll only get there if you try. Be gentle with yourself and never give up.

Do You Believe Persistence Creates Success?

For centuries, people have chanted that the most persistent person wins the prize. In this article, I am going to challenge that belief. I assert that it is not persistence that makes the difference. It is the stripping away of beliefs that allows an individual to keep going. While I understand that people in the stands watching a sporting event have opinions about successful athletes. On the field, there is something happening that the fans cannot see. The same applies when people view what they call persistence.

To start, the human brain stores everything it hears, smells and sees in neuropaths. Those neuropaths possess your attitudes and belief systems. When you were born, you were told you could be anything you wanted. However, when you said you wanted to be CEO of a Fortune 500, you may have been told about being realistic. If you were black or Hispanic, you may have been warned that being CEO of a Fortune 500 is so rare for blacks and Hispanics that it's best to focus on being a doctor or lawyer. Many women may have been told the same. In addition, you were told that women and minorities have to work twice as hard as white males, especially if those males came from affluent families.

This kind of conversation creates cognitive dissonance. That refers to a situation involving conflicting attitudes, beliefs or behaviors. This produces a feeling of discomfort leading to an alteration in one of the attitudes, beliefs or behaviors to reduce the discomfort and restore balance. In other words, being told you can be anything you want, but CEO is unrealistic, creates internal conflict and tension. One path is to stay in the conflict and pursue your dreams. The other is to avoid the conflict and take your parents' advice.

While the cognitive dissonance may have initially started with your parent(s), you inherit the same conflicting thoughts your parents have. Since you trust your parents, you trust they know what they are talking about, even if you believe you can be the exception. (Depending on socioeconomic class, being a doctor or lawyer may appear to be unrealistic. Therefore, the child is told to focus on getting a lower paying job with benefits, for example. By the way, many children are discouraged when they want to be professional athletes.)

To go against your parents is to simultaneously go against conversations stored in your neuropaths. As you can see, this creates a quandary for the individual. As a result, a woman or minority could sabotage a great career because they spent time looking for evidence to prove they can't be CEO of a Fortune 500. They would seek evidence they have to work twice as hard. Even those two beliefs work against one another. Why?

While the job of CEO is extremely demanding, he or she must be able to delegate. If a woman or minority believes working twice as hard is what got them to the position of CEO, they may believe that is what they have to do to remain in that position. Eventually that person will become overwhelmed because they did not delegate effectively. An overwhelmed CEO could result in a poor performing company and eventually lose their job. There is a saying that the best CEOs work on their companies, not in them.

Furthermore, you may be so exhausted from working twice as hard that you may become disheartened to pursue a higher level of management. So working twice as hard can be a double-edged sword.

What does this have to do with persistence? If a woman or minority was told that being a CEO was unrealistic, they will have mental barriers that stop them from pursuing CEO. While those conversations may be stored in your brain, upon introspection, you will see those thoughts and beliefs are not your own. They are the beliefs of your parents, teachers, media, etc. Therefore, you are not obligated to adhere to them. As you strip away the inherited beliefs of others, you can make a clear path for new thoughts and beliefs. This time they will be the thoughts you choose for your life.

On the other hand, if you never inherited conflicting beliefs, you would have a clear mindset. That mindset would allow you to move through each phase of success in your life with power and alacrity. To the observer, you would look persistent. Contrary to the observer, you would have the advantages of seeing no barriers. The same possibility occurs for the person who strips away inherited barriers. With built in barriers, you spend time being in conflict with them or stripping them away. If you don't know how to strip them away, you are stuck. Without the barriers, you have freedom and open fields to do what ever you want.

In Time, You Will Thank Me For This Article (By Joshua Clayton)

Woman Standing on Cliff

The use of affirmation does not take chance, luck or silly fear. It takes time and patience. But, how many of us do have that. Although, you may get a little offended by the answer, I am going to answer that question. Rhetorically, I can say this: You do not have time to do them, you do not have patience to wait for results, and you want it now! Other than that, affirmations work just fine for anyone, including you. So, be warned, this article is not for the few that have patience and time, and a realistic viewpoint. In a sense, I am humorously insulting you with a challenge to have the patience and realism to better your life.

Right now, I am thinking of self-hypnosis and autosuggestion concepts and the fact that they are actually easy to master, especially when you have the patience and realistic viewpoint to conquer yourself over time and work. But that is just it, you have to let it all seep into your subconscious like good sticky Asian, slow-cooked rice or soup. Indeed, the most powerful concepts of affirmation are those types of affirmation which involve self-hypnosis and autosuggestion, also (as I have realized) you have to allow them to work, you cannot force any issue or expedite the results. So, I ask this challenging question in the next paragraph:

Is there any reason you need it "now"? If there is, I understand. If there is not, I still understand, but I say have patience and be willing to put in the time and effort that you instinctively know it will take, it will work.

Speed is not power, but persistence is really power like a train engine locomotive working out to its highest speed slowly, but surely. My Dad lost his foot in 1979 to diabetes, and he wanted to get rid of his ghost limb feeling through hypnosis so he could get on with his life, and through that insufferable patience I inherited from him, he did, through a program of self-hypnosis and patient massage, care and understanding. The point and moral to that little sentence about my Dad is that through your own efforts and patient work you can empower yourself fully and master yourself. But through impatience and laziness, you will not even get out of the door on time.

After all, how do you think I overcame childhood asperger syndrome and adult onset schizo-affective disorder to be coherent, honest and intelligent enough to write this challenging, powerful and probing article that challenges you to master and take power over yourself? I consider myself only starting on the road, but I am always working on it, that is all I can say for myself humbly in this article.

Message From the Universe: Trusting Yourself Is Crucial

"Having a dream... Courage.

Visualizing your dream... Persistence.

Physically moving towards your dream... Guts.

Letting go of the "cursed hows"... Wisdom.

The look on your friends faces, when they see you on the red carpet... Priceless.

Yeah, that oughta light a fire -
The Universe"

Sounds like a familiar TV ads with MasterCard right? I guess everything you do or every step you take is getting you closer to reaching your ultimate dream. Having a dream is great, but not knowing how to visualize it can be detrimental to understanding what you are trying to gain with this dream. Let's say you mastered visualization with lots of meditation, it is important to take action and taking the necessary steps to actively reaching your goals. There is, like with anybody else on earth, a little voice inside wondering HOW the hell will this ever be done or achieved. You start questioning yourself, and putting lots of your energy on the negative thoughts instead of the positive ones. You forget that the how's aren't your problems since you've already delegated this task to the Universe. Yes, your read it clearly. The How's isn't your problem, just make sure you continue delegating this task to the force from above. The Universe will abide by your wishes as long as you continue walking on the path to success. Many will think it can't be that easy. Guess what? More you think of it not being easy, and less easy it will get. So why torture yourself this way? What is the point to all that?

WE all know that throughout your journey to success, you will come across family and friends who are very afraid of you succeeding. They will do everything in their power to warn you, to advise you, to share their concern about wasting your time and energy on things that will NEVER happen. They will come up with the worst scenarios as potential failure can happen and you may lose EVERYTHING. OK, let's analyze that one for a second. First, why did you allow them to know anything about what you do for them to give you any advice? Are you waiting for their approval for the things you want to do in your life? Do you need their authorization for creating your own future? So how do they know anything about your dreams or goals? No one should know anything except yourself or the people you know you can trust or mentors who are there not to judge you but to encourage you when wanting to reach your dreams. Stay away from the ones who are afraid of their own shadow. Stay far away from them if you can. They are afraid of doing anything positive in their lives but don't want to be left out when YOU succeed. So by the time you do walk the red carpet, look around and enjoy the success. Be ready to get calls from the so called friends who discouraged you to congratulates for an amazing job. The look in their eyes when they read about you on Fortune 500 magazine... PRICELESS!

Are You Persistent and Audacious? Jerry Weintraub's Story (By Rand Golletz)

Until his death a couple of years ago, Jerry Weintraub was a legend (in his own time) in the entertainment business. The consummate showman, he promoted concerts (including Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, etc.) and produced movies (including Nashville, Diner, Ocean's 11, 12, 13, The Karate Kid).

From Rich Cohen in Vanity Fair at the time of Weintraub's death:

"He came out of New York in the early 60s with nothing but his wit and charm and wild desire to experience all life has to offer. He ended up with the fame and wealth and property and the rest of it, but mostly the man had friends. He knew everyone. He was everyone's key guy. He was the guy behind the guy. He was the guy behind the guy behind the guy. And the guy behind that.

The news of his death, at whatever age Jerry was claiming at the time - like his favorite kind of weather, it was usually somewhere in the high 70s to low 80s - comes as a great shock and a sick joke. There will never be another like him. It took the perfect parents in the perfect neighborhood at the perfect moment to create Jerry Weintraub. If you accompanied him on a verbal jag, you never forgot the voice. Yes, there were the flashing eyes and the broad shoulders and the big hands and the huge laugh and the oddly patrician grin, but mostly there was the voice. Funny, wise, sardonic, and warm, it got in your head and stayed there. Even now, when I'm about to cop out or give up or give in, I hear it: "Don't be a schmuck. Keep going. It's gonna be great."

As is the case with most successful people, his backstory wasn't all glamour and riches. He was a grinder, initially toiling in New York City with two partners and booking mostly second-tier entertainers into small venues. Eventually those two partners moved to Los Angeles and opened a west coast office. Weintraub followed them some time later. Fast forward.

Elvis Presley had spent the 1960s largely out of the public eye. He made records and films, but for eight years he made no concert appearances - NONE! Jerry had the bold idea to take Elvis on tour. He knew no one connected to Elvis but somehow managed to acquire the phone number of Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis's legendary manager.

He called the Colonel and explained what he wanted to do. Parker listened and politely said "no thank you!" For the next YEAR, Weintraub called Colonel Parker EVERY DAY. Somehow he believed that eventually the Colonel would give in.

One day Jerry's phone rang, and it was Parker. "You still want to take my boy on tour?" he asked. After getting off of the floor, Weintraub answered "of course." Then Colonel Parker proceeded to tell Jerry that if he wanted to do it, he should show up in Las Vegas with a million dollars (when a million dollars was a ton of money) at a specific time - sort of a down payment. Jerry agreed but there was one big problem: He didn't have a million dollars, and he knew no one who would give him the million, let alone within the tight time frame the Colonel demanded.

He got on the phone and called everyone he knew. No luck. Finally a friend in New York mentioned that he knew a guy in Seattle with a lot of money who also happened to be an Elvis fan. Jerry called him and after proposing the idea, the guy agreed to send him a million dollars. No contract; no guarantees; totally unsecured.

Weintraub asked the guy to wire a cashier's check to a bank in Las Vegas made out to Elvis Presley but to his (Weintraub's) attention. Jerry then drove to Las Vegas and on the prescribed day and time, he checked to see if the money had arrived; it had not. He then called Colonel Parker and asked for a bit more time. The Colonel agreed. The money arrived a short time later.

He delivered the check to the Colonel. They agreed to a 50/50 split on tour proceeds.

At the conclusion of the wildly successful tour, the Colonel and Jerry met in Parker's hotel room to have a toast and debrief. Weintraub saw several suitcases and assumed they contained clothing. One at a time Parker emptied each on a large table. They contained cash. Lots of cash. Millions of dollars.

Weintraub inquired as to where the money came from. The Colonel said that this was the proceeds from the sale of tee shirts, key chains, programs, and other memorabilia.

Jerry had never seen that much cash and as he stared, the Colonel swung his cane over his head like an axe and swung it down through the money, dividing it in half with a theatrical gesture. He pushed one pile of money to one side, and the other pile to the other side. He then said that the money on one side was Jerry's, and the money on the other side was his and Elvis's.

He looked at Weintraub and said: "I know we didn't discuss this, but we're partners, and you should get half of everything." That half was several million dollars.

At the beginning of the tour, Jerry was not a wealthy man. At the end, he was a multi-millionaire. His success fueled his confidence and ambition. He became one of the most successful impresarios in show business, managing talent, promoting concerts and producing movies. Quite a story, and quite a guy.

My questions for you: When was the last time you bet on yourself and took a big leap? Do you have a vision for your business and life that is big and bold, or are you content being just "OK?" Are you comfortable asking for help when you need it - financial or otherwise - or are you consumed by fear? Does the voice in your head (we all have one) speak to you in possibilities or limitations; with boisterous exuberance or timid whispers? Are you persistent, and do you persevere regardless of the obstacles in your way?

What It Takes To Be A Success In Life

If you ponder about what it takes to be a success in life, you have to realize certain uneasy aspects of what it is. You got to step out of your comfort zone. Have persistence and determination. Be broke for a while. Lose some friends. Have some sleepless nights. But most people simply do not get it.
So, what does it takes to be successful? Why is it so scary for many people? What can you do to keep going when things get tough? How can you persevere to be a success in life?

Success is not a straight line, and the only way to it is crooked. It is going down in the valley and then back up over a mountain. Most successful people have failed more times than you ever even tried. You should not wait for the stars to realign, you have to reach up and rearrange them the way you want. In this way, you create your constellation.

But there is only one slight difference between what it takes to be a success or a failure, and that is that you cannot stop believing in any way. No matter what anybody says, or tells you, you have to know beyond what is humanly possible.

You have to believe in your mind that you can. Do not allow anyone, even family, friends, acquaintances, teachers, or whoever it is to tell you that what you are dreaming for yourself and your family is not possible.

Anything is possible if you do not stop having faith that you can be a success. You have to plant your seed, water it, and accept it as true, even before it happens. Success requires hard work, persistence, and determination but other things come into account also. Here is some of the stuff it takes to be a success.

To Be a Success - Persistence and Determination
Persistence and Determination are a great combination to be successful. Persistence is an incredible quality which allows you to continue doing something or trying to do something, even though it is hard or opposed by other people. Determination is never giving up, especially in your own mind.

How true this is but not simple! So, a part of what it takes to be a success in life is definitely determination and persistence! If you are persistent, you open the door to many more possibilities and have a deeper appreciation for all of the things in life, especially the little things.

If you do not begin or do it, nothing is then possible. Most people do not even try, sadly, and many just try then stop or give up. Very few people try and try over and over, do again and again, and never give up. But those are the people that ultimately succeed and win.

To Be a Success - Hard Work
The bridge between reality and a dream is hard work. No ideas work unless you dare to do the job. Ideas without execution are simply disillusions. You can have the best concepts in the world, yet you have to understand that your ideas and the way it supposes to happen are not the only approaches in which it can occur.

To be a success, you have to stop making excuses and focus on making it happen. You have to focus on one thing, one area at the time. Put all of your energy in watering one area because if you spread the water across many seeds, you do not have as much water for one seed.

So, when you have mastered that one seed; you can then move on to the next one. If you believe in your dream enough or in what you are trying to accomplish, then you can see it. You have to foster the belief in what you are dreaming, put in the work so that it may become a reality. The way to the top and to be a success is through persistence, intelligence and hard work.

To Be a Success - Words Become Reality
Many of us are where we are based on upon what we believe. And it is not what you believe on the surface, but deep down in your subconscious that is holding you back from moving into the life, you feel you deserve. Your unconscious is running a tape through your mind telling yourself you are not good enough, not worthy, not smart, which is an audiotape that is playing for too many people.

If you are not conscious of that, then you end up acting out of this belief system and not out of what you know to be the truth. You are, in part, where you are today because of what you have been saying about yourself.

Words are like seeds. When you speak something out, you give life to what you are saying. And if you continue to say negative words, it can eventually become your reality. You are planting seeds when you talk, and at some point, you are going to eat that fruit. To be a success, you have to plant the right seeds. You are going to reap fruits from the exact grains you have been sowing.

In other words, you cannot talk negative, expect to live a positive life and be successful. You cannot talk defeat and expect victory. And you cannot talk of lack, not enough, cannot afford it, or never get ahead and expect to have abundance.

To Be a Success - Actions and Change
To be a success, you rather have to prophesy good things and wins about yourself. Then your life will move in the direction of your thoughts and words. Too many people go around and prophecy just the opposite. Things such as "I never get any good breaks in life," "business is slow," "I probably get laid off," "Flu season is here, I will get it."

Most people do not realize that they are predicting defeat. It is just like they are calling negativity in.

You have to act the other way around and believe that good things are already yours, and act as if they already are. This way, you can draw this to yourself while you are working towards it.

This way your actions are in alignment with what you say and think. The actions and choices you have previously made are created because of what you believe to be true for yourself. When you want to be a success, you have to act and change the way you think. You have the right to be great. Be different. Stand out. Change your destiny. And quit talking that it will not happen.

To Be a Success - Willpower
It is not enough to think you can be a success; you have to declare it out loud. Do it in front of a mirror. You have to speak out your future. Those words, repeated over and over, will get deep down inside of you. They will not only change your outlook but also change who you are.

Yes, life is hard at times, but you have no option. Handling the tragedies of life is difficult. It is hard when you put all of your efforts into something, and it does not work. Misfortunes happen to all of us, but when it happens, the real question is what are you going to do with it? Ask yourself the resources that you need to be a success and how to make it happen.

You have to fight back, one inch at a time. There will be many sleepless nights, but you will get to the next level if you keep moving. You have the choice to either give up or keep going. If you fail and still want to be a success, try again.

To Be a Success - Self-Education and Sleepless Nights
You have to read books instead of getting frivolous things. Material things come and go, but knowledge and experience are indestructible. You have to work on yourself and fill your mind with what you need to be a success. All people fail, even the most successful, so forget about your past and make the rest of your life the best of your life.

Most people read a lot of books on how to become successful, but writers tend to leave out the dark parts and rarely put them in the books. So, when others tell you that you will never amount to anything, just keep grinding. Do not stop hustling because these people are waiting for the time when they can say: "I told you so."

Do not let life tear you down. Do not spend so much time comparing yourself to others. Do not try to be in somebody else's life. Instead, do your own thing. Keep going and believe you can be a success. It will bring you where you want to be. Have confidence in what you do. So be relentless.

To Be a Success - Friends' Loss and Help
Remember that anytime you walk into a room, know that you are special. You have to know that you mean something to this world. Sometimes, the outcomes are not always what you desire them to be but real failure in life is not trying at all.

You are the master of your fate. And it is very likely that you will lose friends along your journey to be a success, but they will be replaced by value and quality rather than quantity. The path to success is the definition you have of it. Real success is what makes you happy, but you have to be willing to work for it.

But realize that to be a success, you cannot do it alone. You have to ask for help. Most successful people will help you by giving advice, principles to live by, solutions and not money. Some might not step up and help you but others will. But know your worth and let no one put you down. And do not assume but ask.

And yes, to be a success, people will laugh, try to talk you out of your dreams, or turn their back on you. They will not understand what you are trying to achieve, and a lot of people will not be ready for it. But let me remind to continue to dream. It does not matter where you start at, or who tells you what or who you can or cannot be, I believe in you.
