When Your World Comes Crashing Down

Sometimes life hits us between the eyes and delivers an unexpected turn of events. The shock and resultant impact can make us question why it's happened. Have we been bad, is it karma, do we deserve this? The answer is often a resounding 'no'. It is what it is, nothing more or less than that. But, nonetheless, we have to deal with it and recover.

When our world comes crashing down others may not appreciate the magnitude of what we're going through or how what's happened has affected us. Consequently comments that are dismissive, superficial, maybe even offensive can come our way whilst we're struggling simply to get out of bed.

Even friends and family may not appreciate the distress we're going through, how those things are so devastating for us. When we miss out on being pregnant for another month and hear a cheery, 'you're young, you've plenty of time, there's always next month!' Or when they're blase about our beloved cat failing to return home and we hear comments like, 'you'll get another, it's only an animal', demonstrating no understanding of how much our beloved pet means, how they're such an important part of the family. Or even comments like, 'there are plenty more fish in the sea' when our latest relationship ends.

We can feel overwhelmed when we've invested so much of ourselves into something that fails to materialise or come to fruition. Grief and loss are often experienced at these difficult times in life. Even when we've had time to prepare ourselves for what's to come it can still be an earth-shattering loss. We may manage to maintain a stoic exterior, appear calm, unfazed and resilient, but inside or when we're on our own it's often a different story. Our world has come crashing down taking our future plans, hopes and dreams with it.

How can we cope when our world has come crashing down and we're experiencing such a sense of loss?

- Keep your own counsel. Avoid comparing yourself to others. Your feelings, challenges and situation is very different to theirs. Accept that others may not be as empathic or supportive as you'd like them to be, possibly through no fault of their own. It can be disappointing, tough to tolerate, but there's little we can do when they simply don't understand.

- Choose who you share your story with. Be cautious at randomly exposing too much of yourself and your feelings at such a vulnerable time. It's easy to absorb much of other people's comments, advice and input, but question, would they really do what they so freely advise you to do if they were in your shoes!

- Listening to others can bring its own stress, prompting us to make inappropriate decisions and choices. When they're being so 'supportive' we may feel it's good manners to listen and follow their advice. We may even regard them as an expert, feel compelled to trust their judgement, defer to their wisdom, be swayed to go along with the most persuasive argument or most popular point of view. Listening to others can provide insights and information, help us move our thoughts along, but at the end of the day it's your life. They're not as invested in the outcome as you are.

- Check your perspective, how are you feeling? Some days are more positive than others, those others we take everything personally. When you're aware of how much you can influence each situation you can be more in control of your responses.

- Consider therapy if you suspect you have long-standing unresolved issues. Getting help is a positive way to learn from what's happened, enabling you to pick yourself up and then move forward. And working with a neutral professional who's skilled at providing the right kind of support can be an important way of helping you turn the situation around.

- Acknowledge that loss and endings bring different stages of grief. You may well go through them all, some more than once. The stages can include denial, anger, depression, bargaining/negotiation until there comes an acceptance of where you're at. All can take time, with no limit on each individual case.

- There are many kinds of outside help if you're not looking for one-to-one therapy. Online forums and discussion groups can connect you with people with similar stories where you're able to share hints, tips or sometimes simply tears and company. Knowing you're not on your own can in itself provide reassurance and comfort.

- Take the focus away from yourself. Volunteer, share the lessons learned, your insights and sensitivity by giving time and being supportive of others. When you help others it often helps you too. You'll find some people will have had tough, fraught experiences, others may need to know there's company and support available. Get involved and recognise your own growth, strength and resilience.

Above all, appreciate that things take their own time but resolution will eventually come to pass.

Message From the Universe: Perceiving Appearances

Man Wearing Black Tank Top and Brown Shorts Climbing Rock

"Courageous is the soul who adventures into time and space to learn of their divinity. For while they cannot lose, they can think they have, and the loss will seem intolerable. And while they cannot fail, they can think they have, and the pain will seem unbearable. And while they cannot ever be less than they truly are - powerful, eternal, and loved - they can think they are, and all hope will seem lost.

And therein lies their test. A test of perceptions: of what to focus on, of what to believe in, in spite of appearances.

Tallyho,
The Universe"

This post probably is talking to many and giving him to all humanity. You might feel like everything you do is not rendering the results you were expecting, or the fortune and glory you were wishing for. You will think that no matter what you do and how hard you work will just be a complete waste of time. So you wonder, What am I doing? Where am I going with all of this? What should I do or pursue? All these feelings of uncertainties, doubts, questioning your own value, wondering the reasons why you were put in this earth. No humans strive to lose or fail or anything else in that aspect but without it, you will never be able to define yourself as the person you were meant to be. Yes, it is painful to lose, or fail, or lose hope in what you thought would change the world. You decide what you want to do after facing the end results to all your hopes and dreams. If they end up with success, then great for you. If not, will you just abandon or lose hope for life? Will you just stop living?

Sometimes it can be difficult to face challenges when they all come to you at one time, but no matter how quick or hard they hit, you need to face them and work around them to find the best solution. Remember that the best solution is YOUR solution. Asking advice to others will just blur your judgement and affect your decision making process. You are the ONLY one who can have direct effect on all outcomes of your life and make the necessary changes needed to come out a winner. The key is to keep calm throughout the process and not alarm yourself at every little potholes in your path to happiness. There might be plenty of them so you need to walk or run around them to avoid falling and getting hurt. Life will constantly test you, here and there, with some little deserved breaks in between. You really have a couple of choices here. Either you wish to live a very calm and non eventful life and not see much return from it or what to risk it all and experience great rewards. You need to tell the Universe what you want. Nothing will be smooth sailing and witness great success. You can't have your cake and eat it too. So what will you choose? Serene life with nothing much to show for OR very active and challenging life that will render AMAZING success.

Do You Always Know What You Want?

Man Wearing Jacket Standing Near Tree

Do you really know what you want and are you prepared to do whatever it takes to achieve it?

I have been watching a TV program called the "Seven Year Switch". When I saw it advertised I thought it would be a group of youngsters like "Love Island" not my cup of tea, however I happened to see the second episode by chance and realised it was a serious attempt to sort out failing partnerships. I was hooked.

By pairing with another couple each person was able to realise their faults with the help of their temporary new partner, who was able to see the situation from a new perspective. This encouraged dialog. With the result that three out of the four couples decided they would work on their differences and make their relationships work. During this period they were helped by two councellors.

This got me thinking about the situation many couples find themselves in. Swamped by day-to-day living it is easy to lose sight of what you really want, and how to support the fulfilment of dreams for yourself and other family members.

So often nobody talks about irritations, desires or hurt feelings they lie buried to resurface periodically as harsh words and rows. We seem to have lost the knack of really communicating our wants needs, hopes and desires in a caring way. Anger is at the forefront of relationships everyone seems stressed, selfishness and thoughtfulness seem to have taken over.

Even world leaders like Donald Trump and Boris Johnson are known for their thoughtless tweets and comments. Diplomacy appear to have gone out of the window!

Road rage is rife instead of courtesy and old-fashioned good manners. Youngsters swear and run a mock in schools and in the streets upsetting residents, besides threatening staff, in schools and hospital and even the fire brigade are under attack in some areas. Why is there such a breakdown in good family values and disciplined.

These wayward youngsters, often knife carrying, gang members, don't seem to know what they really want out of life, or have the desire to live a law-abiding existence. They follow the wrong role models and rampage for want of something better to do.

Sometimes businesses lose track of their direction and without changing strategies can haemorrhage great losses.

So to get what you want out of your relationships, your work or business, your hobby or life generally stop and think and then communicate with those around you, and listen to their needs too. Learn to compromise and you will be in a happier place.

I am a great fan of positive attitude books and the power of the mind for turning things around and achieving goals. These can be particularly helpful if you are going through a rough patch. In essence they all say - you are the captain of your ship steer it in the direction you want to find yourself or you can end up on the rocks!

Women, Do Not Let Go of Your Dreams

Hopes = Dreams. Let me repeat myself, HOPES = DREAMS. Now some people may tell you that dreams are just “illusions” or “pictures you experience in your head while sleeping.” Dreams are real. They are a part of you. They are a part of your destiny. The old adage that you have bad/strange dreams because you ate something that didn’t agree with you before you went to bed is a lie. Come on women!!!! Our bodies are designed far too intricately and with such expertise to listen to unwise sayings and the “they say” sayings. Your brain…your Spirit…are not controlled by the foods you eat before bedtime. Let the “experts” conjure up whatever makes them feel better to explain something away, but I tell you this…since ancient times, dreams were given to lead you, guide you and are a part of who you are. Now, I’m not saying that all dreams are explainable. I will say that ALL dreams play a part, to whatever extent, in your destiny.

Dreams are “devices” given to us to speak to us about our hurts, fears, joys, loves, plans, paths to take and not to take, they are GUIDEPOSTS. The definition of a guidepost is: a sign on a post by a road indicating directions. Since you were a little girl, dreams have given you signs, indications, and most of all have been the Universe/God’s way of leading you along the path of destiny and interweaving in you hopes to manifest at the right moment.

Have you had or still have naysayers in your life that have attempted to kill your dreams? Let me let you in on a little secret…the only one who can kill a dream is the One who gave it to you. The Power from above is not controlled by humans. If a dream was given to you for a purpose (whether known or unknown) and it died, then only one person has the power to do that, no one else. Also, keep this in mind. Only YOU own your dreams. Your hopes/dreams were never given to one other person on this planet…they are entirely owned by you. Think back (maybe you don’t have to think too far back), where you spoke out loud about a hope/dream and immediately darts, arrows, cannon balls and fire just were sent from every direction to put out that light that sparked in your heart. What did you do? Did you let the ammunition penetrate and darken the light? Or did you put up a shield and say no, this/these dreams/hopes are mine! If you did use the shield, then you are to be commended. However, if you are like the millions of women who let even one dart penetrate the light and darken the hope, then the dream has been “asleep”. Not dead, “asleep”.

When I speak of these dreams/hopes, I’m speaking of those that are healthy to you, not dreams/hopes that have manifested from a broken/bitter/revengeful heart. Those dreams/hopes are not healthy to you and that topic is for an entirely different article!! Let’s focus on that one hope/dream that has seemed to follow you your entire life and when you experience something related to it, such as a word, a song, a location, etc., anything that would cause your heart to “leap or twinge”, then know that that dream/hope is not dead. It has been “asleep”.

2015 is the year of Emergence. 2015 is the year for the emergence of dreams that were once thought lost. It is the year of women “emerging” from their sleep and/or “emerging” from the womb of life to enter the Day of Light. Womb of Life to the Day of Light. What does that mean?

In the mother’s womb, all is given to nourish the baby in order to grow, to develop right up to the point where the baby can survive and continue to grow once it “emerges” into the world. A full-term baby is one that has remained in the womb for the proper time in order to be equipped to function once the baby “emerges”. Such is a dream/hope that was given to you at some point in your life that has never left you. This dream/hope that resides within you now, at this moment, that ember that never burned out, this is your life purpose. (For clarification, this dream/hope is not another person in your life.) It was a seed that was sown at a point in your life where the ground was fertile, and through the years it has been watered with rain (maybe hot rain!), but it was encased inside and nourished even when you were not aware of it. It has matured and in 2015, this dream/hope is going to emerge.
If you are a woman who is serious about pursuing the “vision”, the “dream”, the “hope”, that you were given, then move on what it is that you were given. PURSUE THE VISION. How?

Steps to Pursue the Vision/Dream/Hope:

1. Get a journal and write down the dream/hope that is in your heart that was never quenched. Did you always want to be an author? A teacher? Did you want to be something completely OPPOSITE of where you are now? Have you wanted to travel the world? Write down in a journal your dream/hope no matter how impossible it seems to obtain right now.

2. USE VISUAL SOUND. Our two senses, sight and sound, are two of the most powerful senses we have. Even if your natural eyesight is not good or is not there at all, you always have your “third eye”, your spiritual eye. Your spoken voice is powerful. I say this with the utmost certainty: those who have hard hearts and use their voice for negativity and to harm anyone will ALWAYS have it rebound into their own lives. So I’m speaking to women here whose hearts are ready to enter into their destiny with “clean hands and a pure heart and a right Spirit”…speak out loud the visuals you were given. Speak out loud the dream/hope you were given. Then watch the movement happen.

3. Do not give up. Would a mother stop pushing after seeing the head of her baby? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! EVERY DAY, speak out loud your dream. EVERY DAY. When you see a manifestation happen that is part of your dream, BUILD ON IT. Don’t stop, keep speaking and watch the next one appear.

I speak to you, the women of destiny today, that all naysayers in your lives are REMOVED.

I speak Light into your homes, beauty into your atmosphere and that a determined force to compel you to keep moving enter your life. To whom do I speak:

TO THESE WOMEN:

You were forged in the fire of darkness, you were brought to the threshold of pain, and yet you still kept on. You spoke in anger yet you refused to become bitter. You held love in your heart and it was ripped to pieces, yet you kept on. You removed yourself from all trauma and drama and were cast off to the side because you refused to “join the crowd” in misery. You were secluded and left alone and yet you prospered. You knew how to fight and every muscle ached, yet you kept on. The boundaries you once held so dear were broken and disrespect for your time seemed to abound, yet you kept on. You righted the wrong and you were despised due to your truth you held, you kept on. You stood in the face of anger and betrayal and you did not let it leave a scar, you kept on. You trusted with all your heart and the lies kept coming, you kept on. You removed yourself from bitter company and were rejected by the “social elite”, you kept on.

I say to you THIS DAY…NOTHING is going to keep you from your destiny. NOTHING. Your time in the womb of life is done. Your time to emerge is here. No one who cast a stone your way will remain standing. Your Light will shine in the Universe. YOU were the diamond being forged in the fire. YOU were kept safe and unharmed despite the pain. YOU will stand when others cannot. YOU ARE READY. YOUR destiny is here!

4 Key Attributes Necessary for Success

We all have hopes and dreams, but sadly, not all of us reach them in our lifetimes.
We all deserve to reach our goals, but this isn’t going to happen without a little (well, a lot) of work. Luckily, there are several ways to can ensure that you are putting yourself on the path to success!
Here are 4 key items that differentiate those who succeed from those who do not.
1. Successful people practice healthy daily habits
Successful people spend their days exercising daily habits that happen to be healthy, while unsuccessful people tend to practice unhealthy or unproductive habits.
These habits are often subconscious, but by bringing them to the light, you can absolutely turn negative habits into positive ones.
Tom Corley is the author of Rich Habits, and spent 5 years studying the daily activities of 233 wealthy people and 128 people with very little. Tom found that the vast majority of wealthy people practiced healthy daily habits, including:
  • Daily exercise to keep energy levels up and weight in a healthy range
  • Spending around 30 minutes per day reading education books or taking in information to spark inspiration and increase knowledge
  • Participated in “extra-curricular” activities after work two days a week, like volunteering or attending networking events
On the other hand, Tom found that those living in poverty practiced daily habits that were just the opposite (watched a lot of TV, did not exercise, did not strive for self-improvement.
The simple truth here is that the small actions you take each and every day either build upon your path to success, or they take you further down the path to poverty (or staying the same).
Take a look at the things you do every day – are these actions (or inactions) sending you down the right path? If not, what can you do to flip those negative habits into positive ones?
2. Successful people think positively and confidently
Wealthy people tend to have a positive, confident mindset. Negative thought patterns and negative self-talk are the biggest roadblocks that keep anyone from success. If you’re constantly telling yourself that you are not smart enough or ready enough to begin striving for your goals, it’s going to be very difficult to get there!
Successful people do not let negative thoughts stand in their way. They have learned to remove the negative beliefs that they have about themselves and replace them with self-encouraging talk.
Do you hold yourself back with negative beliefs? Take a day to simply notice what you say to yourself. Are you putting yourself down? Make it a daily practice to acknowledge the negative thoughts and shut them down with positive ones.
Eventually, the positive thought patterns will become your natural way of thinking.
3. Successful people break down dreams into step-by-step action items
Without a clear roadmap to success, you’re sure to make plenty of wrong turns!
Successful people not only set clear goals for themselves, they break these goals down into small daily tasks.
For example, if your goal is to make $5,000 this month freelancing, a successful person would break this goal down. If each client brings in an average of $500, then they must secure 10 clients per month. If they need to make 3 referral calls to gain one new customer, they must make 30 referral calls per month, or one each day.
The successful person would put this one referral call each day into their daily routine in order to ensure they reach their goal.
On the other hand, many people never reach their goals because they don’t see the road to reaching it. Without breaking it down into manageable pieces, it can be very overwhelming to even take that first step.
4. Successful people show up even when they don’t feel like it
Building on the last key, successful people show up daily to chip away at their goals, even when they’re not in the mood. They realize that getting work done is not a matter of always feeling inspired, and that often, that inspiration only comes once they get started.
Successful people are consistent with taking the necessary steps to reach their goals, whether this means learning new information, creating new content, meeting new people, or – most likely – all of the above!
You CAN be as successful as you imagine. Turn these keys into daily practices, and in time, you will be surprised with your progress!
