Perfectly Imperfect Reduces Stress

I remember my friend Paul once asking me "What do you call the medical student with the lowest passing grade?" The answer is "Doctor".

You see the lowest passing grade is still a pass and the student is given the title of Doctor because of it.

We are living in a rather interesting world where people have a distorted idea of what they need to do and achieve in order to feel good about themselves. Often, they think that unless they can be perfect there isn't any point in trying. This can lead to feelings of shame, guilt and anxiety as well as lack of confidence.

Let's think about the concept of the Bell Curve. This theory states that approximately sixty-six percent of a group in any field is "average". That leaves seventeen and half percent as "below average" and seventeen and a half percent as "above average". It doesn't matter whether you are talking about students, mechanics, accountants or knitters. The numbers more of less apply to any category.

I often see clients who are struggling in different areas of life who tell me that they have low self-esteem and are tired of "pretending" that they are doing okay when deep down they feel like failures. They have invested time and energy into focusing on things that they cannot or did not do instead of on strengths and accomplishments.

When challenged to begin reaching out for personal goals they are hesitant stating that they don't believe they would be "good enough" or reach their expectations for success. But, with further questioning it becomes apparent that their expectations are unreasonable. They not only want to be in the "above average" category consisting of the top seventeen and a half percent, but actually think they need to be in the top five or ten percent.

The highest passing grade or acceptable level would only be doing as well as eighty-three and a half of one hundred people (add seventeen and half percent in above average plus sixty six percent in the average group). Put another way, as long as they are doing better than the seventeen and a half percent that are below average, they are performing at an acceptable level.

Now that doesn't mean that one can't do better than this. It does mean though that healthy pride can be activated at a level lower than what skewed expectations would demand.

There are so many things in life that I don't do well. I am below average when it comes to sports for example. But I don't use that to determine my value as a person. I believe it is more important that I am honest, kind and have a good work ethic.

In fact, I am perfectly imperfect and proud of it!

Are you measuring your value by only considering your biggest weaknesses? Are you ignoring your strengths when it comes to determining your self-worth and confidence?

Maybe it is time to adopt the stance that you also are perfectly imperfect. And be proud of it!

How Do You View Your Mistakes or Failures?

Do you take them personally and conclude you are not as good as you thought you were? Do you beat yourself up and languish in pain and misery over them? Or even worse, do you use them as reasons to give up or change your goal or profession? Do you fear them so much that they end up becoming self-fulfilling prophecies? All of the above are common reactions to mistakes and/or failing that many people occasionally or regularly make.

As common as the above reactions are, they do not come naturally to us, but rather are learned in our environment. Very early on in life almost all of us begin to dislike making mistakes and failing. Thank goodness that we are not born that way, or it is likely that none of us ever would have learned to walk or talk. Can you imagine babies trying to walk and each time they fail berating themselves about what a screw-up they are? Or imagine if they attempt to talk and gobble-de-gook comes out and they conclude they are not good at talking and give up to focus their energy on drooling−which they are already pretty good at doing.

One of the key differences I have noticed in the higher performing people I work with is the way in which they view their mistakes and failures. First, they tend to be much more understanding of them in the sense that they know they are going to happen. Viewing mistakes and failures as inevitable turns them into part of the process of getting better versus the more common belief that they are a threat to their own value or competence.

Secondly, they have an understanding that if they want to get better they have to constantly be attempting things that are currently out of their reach. No one ever learned to ride a bicycle by staying on a tricycle. In other words, no progress is made without risks. They understand the more things they attempt, the more things they learn to do and the more skilled they will become.

The best of the best that I have worked with are able to completely distance their ego from their mistakes. Failure and mistakes are looked upon as necessary annoyances that will enable them to reach their goals faster. When people ask me how to reach their goal(s) faster, my standard reply is that it's simple, just learn to fail successfully faster and more often.

The great basketball coach John Wooden once told me that most people think the team that makes the fewest mistakes will win, but he has found the opposite to be true. When teams are not making mistakes, they are usually playing it safe and not striving for greatness.

Wouldn't it be great if everyone looked at their mistakes and failures simply as gifts of learning new ways to do things? The truth is, nothing is stopping any of us from doing just that. Like anything, with deliberate practice this will become a habit, and there's a high likelihood that if you adopt this attitude it will enhance your happiness and success.

Our Failures Prove Meaningful - A Note To Steve Jobs' Stanford Revelation

U.S. Service members assigned to Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa participate in a friendly game of soccer with children from the nearby village, outside of Chebelley village, Djibouti, Aug. 3, 2018. Over 30 Soldiers and Airmen volunteered for the outreach event organized by the 404th Civil Affairs Battalion. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Master Sgt. Sarah Mattison)

'Now each of you is going to name his or her most favourite life motivator. One whose philosophy you adhere to unconditionally,' said a psychology professor in an integration class for university novices when the academic year rolled out, straight after my high school graduation. Fresh, inexperienced and village-originated, it came out soon that I feared myself from mingling with loud, aggressive and several pontifical city-grown-ups, so that my concentration in classes gradually decreased and hangouts with somebody alike was out of question.

Despite arrangements for stay at my elder aunt's and my family's pride on first member for a long time accepted to university, I was suffering. Even though I was surprising myself with study results in detested courses such as Math or Meteorology, there was no experience of the 'student life' for which many end up missing their academic years once over. I felt and was mostly alone; taking piercing looks and by-comments to heart, fighting it with ever more in-depth self-studies, long-runs and well-being simulation. Wearing a mask grew oppressive; my uncle back home was progressively submitting his self-conscience to Parkinson and, meanwhile the second term, he died. Attending mourners were greedy for uplifting information on my progress, building another level of oppression with stressful expectations from me. Another elder aunt's health back home was getting down. Finally, I announced inevitable year-interruption of my studies, which of course turned out to be my own choice of spillout as well.

I did not have my 'motivating pacemaker' back then, except that I was possessed with spiritual works of Paulo Coelho and thus named him to the class, which was met with recognition, say nearly everyone knew him and nearly no one named religiously non-iconic or mass non-leading examples. I had never thought of Paulo Coelho as my inner motivator and I had not appointed him to be. I merely stretched out for him in emergency. Now I know that, like him, I like entering people's 'interiors' to weaken their cancers of self devaluation and of world malady impression.

Steve Jobs, a renowned life motivator, gave one of his most winning stimulating public revelations with a tint of academic-commencers reflection. May this realistic picture of 'failures' do not shatter anyone's stability based on wrong presumption that 'one needs to lean on a successful life-inspiring person' where only the success deems inspirational. For knowing the successful side only leads to copying. Whereas knowing the true struggle, which preceded, leads to the essential learning.

And so amiable Steve Jobs unloads significant portion of feared concerns from the newly admitted Stanford students by serving them the truth of life inevitability to failures, which are going to turn in their favour, as long as they do not settle by giving everything up. No theatrical sugar talk, but a seemingly 'dramatic' BREAKFAST OF HOT REALITY, DRY FEARS AND HARD-BOILED OUTCOMES to waken them, the still unfamiliar young ones, and, at the same time, to remind the experienced ones, that 'NO ONE IS EVER TO ESCAPE' the 'final count-down'. Thus cherish your limited time, ignore the dreary surrounding opinions and become passionate about 'what you truly want to become', because no one else but us sets the verge of the road.

Incidentally, outside of Jobs' opening speech we received a complementary tool for unsettled hunger for life and 'foolishness', and that is Steve's discovered and developed SKILL OF PERCEPTION, OUR INTERPRETATION of passed and contemporary to near and distant future.

Message From the Universe: The ONE Success After the MANY Failures

Low Angle Photography of Man Jumping

"It won't matter that 10,000 doors might be slammed in your face, because when door number 10,001 flies open, revealing pathways of jade and gardens of love, with flowers dancing, fountains sparkling, friends blushing, moonbeams glowing, and abundance abounding, you'll completely forget about all the other doors.

Happens every day,
The Universe"

Just like Thomas Edison with the light bulb, it worked only after the 1001th try. His response was: "I didn't fail 1000 times, I found 1000 different ways to create a light bulb before finding the right way to do it!". This is how life is all about. Nothing will work the first time around, but every time you try different strategies, you are on your way closer to getting the right one to work. It will take a lot of learning, and NOT failing, before you get it right. Do not despair as it can ONLY stop you from moving forward. Life will try to stop you on your track, just to see how much you want it. You will need to do anything and everything in your power to make things right until you get to where you need to be. Focus on your accomplishments and not on what is left out there for you to reach success. Sometimes, the path to success can be overwhelming, to say the least, and many abandon their journey way too early. They feel it can be too much of a burden or effort to follow their dreams. No one will take your hand to guide you to where you need to be. Everyone have their own struggles, and your success is definitely the last thing in their mind, which I don't blame them.

If you really want something that badly, then don't expect anyone to do things for you. Do not think that anyone will bent over backwards to do the work for you. Sometimes, you will need to do things that you dislike a lot, but this is the best way to pave your way to success. I know it will be a difficult journey, I know it will require you to work day in and day out, and not have any fun at all. Sacrifice will be required but as long as it will allow you to reach your goals, then so be it. Just make sure to not spread yourself too thin as you may end up not accomplishing anything. Just remember that NOT everyone is looking to succeed the way you are, or gain the amount of money you want, so the path you are in has NO competition whatsoever. There is so much abundance out there anyways, and even if the whole 7.1 billion people on planet earth had your same ambitions, there will still be enough for everyone to get their share of the pie. So isn't that enough to make you smile and prepare your next plan of attack? It would for me.

Learn To Persevere, Be An Optimist

Man Wearing Blue Shorts Holding Vehicle Tire Facing Waterfalls

Shri Krishna said to Arjuna in the consecrated Mahabharata, "Na Dainyam, Na Palayanam", implying that one should never escape from his problems in life, and never even quit or bow to their enemies. According to Him, once you build a will to do something, and decide not to back out on your mind, body or spiritual level, you have already won the life battle. Focus only on your goal while overpowering your biggest enemies - Lust, Anger, Greed and Extreme Attachment - and you are half way through.

Have you ever thought that this small, but priceless Mantra conferred by Yogeshwar Shri Krishna holds true to each and every field in life? Yes! Even in the corporate world.

Persevere

What does it need for you as leaders to succeed in the corporate world? Before anything, it's your Attitude. The attitude to keep going! Once you develop that, you need a passion to follow your dreams. Perseverance is the key to achieving your dreams and aims. If you are a newbie in your sphere, it's important. If you are an employee, it's important. If you are an entrepreneur, it's important. And if you are a leader, it's again important.

If you're wondering why, the reason is that challenges and failures are part and parcel of all these jobs. Every person, no matter what position he is at, needs to build that much-required resilience in them. And that needs work. You have to train your brain to make it learn how to remain positive and focused on the goal in one and all situations.

The challenge is to stay on the course irrespective of the storm

Of course, be it a fresher, or a budding entrepreneur, or anyone else; everyone requires to have a sense of positivity. Since, everyone's aim is ultimately to lead in their lives for a long term. But, it is a real big challenge for those playing the role of a leader in a business. These people are the ones who need to take others along with them while moving ahead in their careers. So, how does a leader's sanguinity help?

There are three things:

1. Productivity - The first onus on the shoulders of a leader is to ensure productivity at the end of their subordinates. A positive and happy environment will anytime help augment the productivity level of employees. In fact, they become more creative and energetic. Enthusiasm is directly proportional to productivity. If you, as a leader, are happy and enthusiastic, your energy will spread among your team like fire. If you are determined, it will be as easy as it sounds. All you need to do is maintain your cheerful attitude in different situations to make your people feel the same. It will make you and your team face any challenge that comes your way.

2. Constant Learning - Discover your power to keep fighting and going - come what may - by always keeping a learning attitude. You might feel sometimes that the pressure is a lot to handle. But, at the same time, you need to remember that Church ain't out till they quit singing. Keep trying different things until and unless you come to know what works the best. Forget how many times you failed; focus on the one opportunity that's still left.

Remember how Nokia lost the game eventually? The CEO of the company, Stephen Elop was literally into tears while delivering his speech. And all he could say was, "We didn't do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost". 'We lost', which means he simply gave up to his dreams.

And how Blackberry couldn't make it up to the next level? It's not that the technology was too old or something. But, it's all an adaptability game. If one just cannot learn to adapt to the newest trends, one must forget about the advantage they had yesterday.

Both the companies simply only needed to comprehend the rage. They failed due to lack of competence and moreover, the will to improve themselves.

On the other hand, Apple could also go bankrupt years ago. But, did Steve Jobs cede, or did he look for a way to survive in their market? Or rather, to stand apart from the crowd? Well! Even though Jobs was fired from Apple, he returned and tried everything until he made the firm create a niche in the market, while turning the iPod used to encourage people to purchase Macintosh computers into a completely different product range. In fact, he went ahead with developing modern phones under the brand understanding the demand of that epoch. This attitude of him to focus on what customers need, and more importantly, to keep moving on and persisting helped him make Apple a successful brand capable of competing against the other top brands of today like Microsoft and Google. Creativity and buoyancy were the essence, though.

3. Positive air is charismatic - Do you yourself like to be surrounded by those who radiate negative vibes? Certainly, not. How will you be able to attract people around you, then, if you are not positive and proactive? So, there you go. Keep an encouraging and smiling gesture always to grow as a good and successful leader.

Be an Optimist Once and For All

During good times, anyone can feel positive. But it is a big deal to remain optimistic during hard times. Positivity certainly doesn't imply that you have to run away or get rid of any kinds of failures. Running away or quitting is just not an option, never. In fact, the idea is to accept the failures that you encounter on your path, and learn and grow out of them with a positive outlook.

Sakshi has thoroughly researched the topic and written this article to help with self-improvement of people in the corporate world.

Super Tips For Turning Failure Into Success (By Naomi Sodomin)

How to Turn Failure Into Success

Acceptance, Communication, Success
DO NOT Let Failure Affect Your Self Worth
"Success is failure turned inside out."
Author unknown.

I honestly wish I knew who wrote this so I could thank him for giving me a guide to what success looks like. I was a freshman in high school when I read this quote and it stayed with me, not only stayed with me... but it changed my life. It was so clear, things can really be that simple!

Whoever wrote this must have known about a young girl who wanted to be successful but had no idea what success looked like. She thought her life was full of failures but in reality, the failures were really successes. It's like holding a t-shirt in your hand and you're about to put it on but then you realize it's inside out. What do you do? Well, you fix it and you put your shirt on the correct way. Then you go about your business, never giving it a single thought.

My friend, it is that simple. All you must do is take the failures and turn them into successes. Why is it so hard for you to turn your failures into success? Because you've tied your self worth to both the success and the failure.

Here's the problem. As humans, we give everything way more meaning than it should carry. For example, let's say your marriage failed and you started blaming yourself. You ask: How come I did not see this or that? Shouldn't I have known better? All the signs were there, so how could I have missed it? I'm such an idiot... and on and on... the madness goes. Pretty soon, you begin to feel badly about yourself. You start calling yourself dumb, idiot, loser, etc. You begin to think about all the people you let down and what they must think of you. Sound familiar?

What if you didn't give it any meaning at all? What if a failed relationship was just a failed relationship? What if a bankruptcy was just a bankruptcy? What if losing your job was simply that. What if none of it had any deeper meaning at all?

Here's what you should do to keep the failures in your life from affecting your self worth. First, you must stop taking everything personally. This was huge for me. When I stopped taking everything personally, and looking at them as "things that happen in a broader context" I could look at things more objectively. The failures aren't personal. It's all part of this thing called "life". Everyone who takes on this human incarnation is going to have a certain level of failure as well as success.

The second thing to do is to look at the failure objectively. It has no meaning except for the meaning you give it. I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to work with T. Harv. Ecker, author of Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. One of the things T. Harv. Ecker taught me was that nothing had any significant meaning at all. He constantly reminded me of this simple fact. It's the same thing with failure and success. They have absolutely no meaning at all besides the meaning we give to them.

For a lot of people, having success means they've made something of themselves. they've proven to aunt so and so or their father that "I'm not a loser." Here's what I've learned. You don't have to prove anything to anyone, not even yourself. Just accept that your successes and failures are impersonal.

I meet millennials who seem to define themselves by their career. What they do for a living has become such a priority, they don't even realize how closely they've attached their self worth to it. Today, the pressure to get married has been replaced with the pressure to become successful in your career as quickly as possible. Sure, it's a good thing to be successful in your career, but you are not your career. There's more to you than the initials behind your name or the title of your job. When you are at the bottom of the totem pole at work, you can't translate that as to where you stand in life. This is where you are today. That's not where you will be five years or ten years from now, so why does it matter so much?

Here's a different take on it. You may lose your job, all your money, and all your earthly possessions, but you can never lose the ability within you that got you those things in the first place. And if you can remember that, then you can turn every failure into success. When I left Florida, I left with my Honda Civic, my clothes in the trunk, and a few toiletry items, and that's all I had. My tribe was very upset because they felt like I had thrown away everything I had worked so hard to achieve. What they didn't realize was that my ability to get those things was still within me.

I don't know how I knew this but I knew that I could own another home. I knew that I could recreate an even better life than the life I'd had in Florida, and I did. I want you to awaken to the possibility that you can create better. You can always have better than you had before. The ability to get a great paying job is inside of you. The ability to start a new business after you've lost a business that you've worked hard at is all inside of you.

Last year I had the opportunity to interview Angela Martindale. She transforms lives from ordinary to extraordinary. She's a highly sought-after nutritionist, and fitness coach to Hollywood moguls and models. She's the creator of Chi Yoga Flow. The one thing that stuck with me during our interview is the fact that she lost everything after her divorce. Angela moved in with her parents with only a backpack crammed with a few personal items. This is after she had built a thriving business. But what she still possessed was the ability to create the results she had created before! Although her ex took her earthly possessions, he couldn't take her ability to rebuild both her life and her business. Angela anchored herself down and rebuilt not just her life, but also her business, and today she is happier than ever. In the process, her work has truly transformed my life and the lives of many other women.

If you want to turn your failures into successes all you have to do is detach your self worth from both the failures and the successes. You've heard of child actors or other performers who committed suicide or became drug addicts and alcoholics because their career started to slide. This happens because their self worth was attached to their job. When your self worth is not attached to your job, your career, or your bank account, you are free to turn your failures into successes. The next time you find yourself down, just remember Angela's story and remember what my mentor, T. Harv. Ecker said: "Nothing has meaning except the meaning you give it." Stop giving your successes and failures meaning, just live your life. Enjoy the successes when they happen and when you fall down, just get back up, dust yourself off, and get back in the game.

This Is Why Working Harder on Yourself Than Your Job Is The Key to a Great Fortune

A Powerful Inner Resolve

The late American motivational speaker Jim Rohn knew something many people don't: success is an inside job.

A good deal of your future success will arise from your mindset.

It is no surprise that those who are successful encounter frequent setbacks and failures.

To the uninitiated, failure may represent the absence of success. However, the person with a growth mindset knows failure is an opportunity to improve on their last attempt, drawing them closer to success.

If success is a journey then it comprises valleys and peaks, notwithstanding the many setbacks.

Gary Keller and Jay Papasan write in The One Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results: "Extraordinary results aren't built solely on extraordinary results. They're built on failure too. In fact, it would be accurate to say that we fail our way to success."

The key to success lies in your willingness and determination to prevail, even in the face of adversity. It is an inner knowing, despite evidence to the contrary, that you will overcome your obstacles and silence your critics.

The right mindset and a powerful inner resolve are required on the path to success.

Setbacks are not intended to discourage you from attaining victory. They are orchestrated to enrich your personal growth and lead you closer to success if you stay the distance.

Working harder on yourself than your job requires paying attention to your mindset and nurturing your inner most thoughts.

Every failure, every obstacle draws you closer to the person you must become to realise victory.

Success is the sum of your personal growth. The person who attains outstanding success has cultivated their inner world and surmounted the challenges imposed upon them.

"Success builds on success, and as this happens, over and over, you move toward the highest success possible," write Gary Keller and Jay Papasan.

Upgrade Your Mindset

Those who work hard on themselves instead of their job are invested in their personal development. They are committed to reading books, attending seminars and lectures, working with the right coaches and mentors and are lifelong learners.

They are humble in the face of victory and gracious in defeat. They realise life is about constant learning, developing and nurturing their greatest asset - themselves.

They do not have all the answers, but are willing to step out of their comfort zone and try new things, knowing the slightest information will create a snowball effect in terms of success when the time is right.

It was the French poet Victor Hugo who once said: "Nothing is more powerful than an idea whose time has come."

The person who works hard on themselves is a leader who helps others succeed before them. They understand that in giving, they receive greater abundance and prosperity. This is a universal law and principle that whatever you sow, you shall reap.

A job pays you wages and if you are involved in sales, a commission. Nevertheless, it was Jim Rohn who reiterated in his talks: "Profits are better than wages."

He understood that when a person develops their greatest asset and their innate strengths, he or she can create unlimited income. A wage is the fee you receive set by your employer, based on the exchange of services rendered.

Profits are unlimited only by your earning potential.

Jeff Olson explains in The Slight Edge: "Every day, in every moment, you get to exercise choices that will determine whether or not you will become a great person, living a great life. Greatness is not something predetermined, predestined or carved into your fate by forces beyond your control. Greatness is always in the moment of the decision."

As you upgrade your mindset, so too does your bottom line.

Many people are unwilling to develop their greatest assets because they need certainty in their lives by way of a weekly income. It is this want for security that is their downfall because the harder you work on yourself, the greater your fortune because the sky is the limit.

You will only soar as high as you believe yourself capable of.

Therefore, your self-worth will determine your net worth.

As you develop a superior mindset, your net worth skyrockets because you are invested in your greatness, which yields far greater returns on your income.

The greatest fortunes are those developed over time, because success is a journey and requires staying the course.

Success requires a growth mindset that leads to the greatest victory and fortunes.

It is the pay-off of devoting time and energy on yourself, rather than simply working harder in your job.

Message From the Universe: What Are YOUR Priorities?

"Actually, when you think about it, everything boils down to priorities. Everything.

And that's a lot.

Tallyho,
The Universe"

So what are YOUR priorities? What is it important for you to do today? Why would you do that one thing and not the other? What is your definition of priority? What may be a priority for you may be a secondary task for someone else. We all have our priorities, and in most cases, it's all selfish ones. Unless you have a sick sibling or family member to take care of, your priorities revert back to you primarily. You focus on what's important to you and focus on accomplishing that specific task. Hence, for many of us, we work with the same model where everyone is doing the same, which is what benefit them the most. Succeeding in your career is a priority after you finish college, where you are all enthusiastic to put your newly acquired school degree in practice. You then work your butt off for a goal that no longer become the same priority as it was in the beginning. Yes, you are still ambitious to reach your career goals, but the nature of the priorities has changed. You see things differently as life gave you new experiences, both success and many failures.

If you look a few years back, you saw the world with a different pair of lenses, while now, your view of the world is different and more substantial. You care about others above yourself, and you want to be more helpful to others and offer more of your time and energy. If you look at it from an outside perspective, these acts of service became your new priorities. Since it is OK to be a different person from who you were in the beginning, it is also OK to change priorities. Be more giving, enjoy life more, provide for others, give yourself more, look at life differently, and most importantly, live your life.

Message From the Universe: Being Where You Need to Be

"There's a reason you chose Earth, exactly when you did, as exactly who you are, with those already in your life and those who soon will be: To be an example, to shine your light, and to give hope.

Yeah, you were needed.. super bad.

Kind of obvious now, huh?
The Universe"

We all have a mission on planet Earth and whoever we come across will either teach us a lesson, contribute to our success or make us fail. Depending who you are as a person, you either will let your experiences teach you a lesson for you to grow or crush and break you down. You decide the path you want to go. Failures are lessons, and nothing else. Nothing is permanent, except death. In 50 years from now, death will no longer be permanent with advance medical and scientific research, but for now, I guess death is a pretty permanent event in your life. So how do you want your life to be? Will you let things or people bother you to a point of you allowing it to control your own life? How will you react when facing adversities? What are you going to do overcome your pain and still keep on moving forward? Only you can answer these questions. No one will ever do anything to you when helping you with these struggles. Learn to depend on yourself to get to where you want to go. Some family and friends can assist you when walking towards the right direction, but the rest is left up to you. Make sure to not disappoint yourself in this journey.

Nothing is easy and if it was, everyone would do it. If being a millionaire is your ultimate goal, expect to work your ass off to accomplish your goal. You will come across many obstacles along the way, many friends and family members who will do everything they can to stop you from accomplishing your goals while trying to come out as giving you the best advice to guarantee your ultimate success. You need to learn to listen to your inner voice that will be the one guiding you on the right path. If you do come across failure, learn from it and keep on going forward. Some little tweaking might be needed to make things succeed. Once you have reached your goals, you will forget all the suffering, all the sacrifices, all the hurdles you faced throughout your journey to ultimate success. So what will be coming next? Well, it really depends on you. Your new journey has just begun and you will come across the same hurdles and challenges. The difference now is that you know that there is light at the end of the tunnel and if you put in the same amount of energy, the same dedication and belief in yourself, you will again succeed far beyond your expectation. You will now know what it takes to make it big on planet Earth.

Message From the Universe: The Behind the Scenes!

"The trick is remembering that, at all times, far more is happening on your behalf than your physical senses will ever reveal.

Like right now.

Because of how much you're loved,
The Universe"

We work hard every day and every night, trying to make something out of our lives and pray for ultimate happiness. For some, because of the nature of life, it may never happen the way we expected and get discourage by the results. Despite our long hours, our struggles, our sacrifices, we still experience hell on earth and wonder if it was all worth fighting for. As an entrepreneur, we will have successes and lots of failures. As with my personal experience, I am comfortable to say that failures are more common through your journey in life. I am not sure as to why the Universe is targeting business owners to plague them with the worst issues to test their determination and desire to move forward, no matter what happens. I guess it (the Universe) love challenges and entrepreneur feed that sick mind of the Universe by dealing with constant hurdles and delays. It is somewhat funny to see that when facing a difficult challenge, I tend to look up into the sky and scream to the Universe: "That's all you got? You can do better than that. Bring it ON". Always be careful what you wish for, believe me, I know, and the Universe does NOT hesitate to BRING IT ON, very hard that is.

Overall, whatever life throws at you is there because IT knows you can handle it. So harder the problem, more credit you are given because of your aptitude to deal with difficult problems. If the challenges were simple, this is when you need to worry as the Universe isn't seeing you as a capable individual ready to tackle the difficult challenges of life, in results, ONLY throws you the easy stuff. As you continue moving forward in life, regardless of the hell you are dealing with, things are happening in the background, good things that is. You may never perceive it as such, and may ONLY look at the bad part of this fabulous equation of life. Change your perception, and KNOW that lot more is happening behind the scenes of your human soul. The Universe is looking at your progress, your changes, your determination, your persistence, and apply its magic to make things happen the way it is SUPPOSE to happen. Stop asking as to the "How" it will happen, but focus more on the "When" it will happen. It is no longer a question of "if", because at the rate you are headed, expect miracles coming out at you and experience the life you always wanted. Again, be careful what you wish for!!!

How to Turn Life's Lemons Into Lemonade

This article is a shift in terms of focus. Although relevant for the fields of business development and growth, the theme of this article is on personal development before business development.

I've always been a huge fan of sales gurus and personal growth experts like Zig Ziglar, Earl Nightingale, Norman Vincent Peale, Dale Carnegie, etc. While initially thinking these guys were full of 'it' and irrelevant; now, with time and experience having matured me to a reasonable level (I hope), I've come to not only attest to truths that these guys and others live by and teach, but also their beliefs and wisdom are very relevant and timeless.

One of the core truths taught and deeply ingrained into my subconscious is the following: failures in life will either strengthen and motivate you to grow and develop or they have the very real ability to break you down.

What do I mean when I say failures in life? Well, quite simply, these are the moments in our lives that the results and outcomes come totally different and often more severe than we had anticipated. Whether it's a job loss, divorce, eviction, bankruptcy, failed job interview, a blown investment, or being defrauded by someone, we all face these challenges at one time in life or another.

The key that I've learned about these negative life events is that you have A CHOICE in how you respond. The thing that keeps most of us in 'ruts' of negativity, isolation, and hopelessness is that we allow ourselves to be motivated by fear in a wrong way. Rather than thinking about how worse and severe a negative life event can become, why not choose to be motivated by the fear of the situation to take hold of hope. Choose to take a strong hold of hope and never let go no matter how bad it hurts or feels.

Now here's another underlying truth in being motivated by the fear of negative life events: don't labor your mind or put a heavy burden on yourself for solving your problems overnight; instead, relax, rest, and remain positive. What I've learned and continue to grow in is that more than likely the answer needed to resolve the problem(s) is right under your nose or floating somewhere in your mind. How do these 'uh huh' moments happen? Truly in the most odd ways possible to be completely honest. There's no secret formula (or at least one that I've found that works) or secret sauce that induces these moments, but here's one way to put yourself in the state of mind to increasing their frequency: relax, live life, serve others well, listen more than you speak, forgive completely, and love sincerely.

Money And Power: Master The Games

Start with the smallest unit of power and end with the largest units of power. Work with everything from atoms, groups of atoms, energy and money to understand all of power for, indeed, life and existence are mentally controlled, not mentally created. When you seriously consider things, a primacy of competitive consciousness does not work, but the primacy of creative reality does work. The primacy of creative reality is what this article will be about.

Sure, I can say the standard, you have to work hard, get lucky and all else will be added argument, but, that would not go with the primacy of reality argument I have in any way.

We all have temporary setbacks or failures until we do genuinely succeed succinctly and fully with full understanding of what we are doing and why. Why is that? It is because of the primacy of creative reality I am writing about. Let me explain:

Life is like a combination lock, if you do not put in the right combination numbers into the lock, you cannot open the lock with the tumbler in the lock whatever you try. Sure you can break the lock, but the lock is still not legitimately opened. Indeed, when you understand the combination, it is genuinely time to open the lock and succeed. When you do not know the combination, it is not time. Sure, this sounds like a bit of Oriental philosophy and "belly button contemplation", but this is how the primacy of reality really does work. Without that understanding, nothing is done, nothing is created, and all reality will not work as desired or needed.

So, let me explain something here: I am seemingly being vague to make you think about reality in a different creative way and I am explaining this fact here after I wrote the bulk of the article to give you that "Oh, I get it!" feeling that makes you put together the pieces of the puzzle coherently and consciously. Sure, I could be less vague, more "organized" and more obvious. Indeed, I would be depriving you of finding your own answers and genuinely appreciating them genuinely.

To win the games, you must play yourself, and blaze a trail of your own with help that is genuinely understood, appreciated and consciously accepted. Otherwise, all you can say is "What is this?" without getting the clue at all. After all, applied knowledge consciously used is power. Knowledge without consciousness is just a useless dusty encyclopedia that never gets used.

No One Said Success Would Be Easy

When it comes down to it, no one ever said success would be easy, but if anyone did, it would be a lie. In reality, there exist no shortcuts or casual paths to succeed, no matter the value or meaning of the things you want. Yet, some people still believe they can find a loophole and get a stress-free ride.
Are you determined enough to be successful even when things are terrible? Are you someone who gives up the instant you hit a wall? Or are you the one that fights and discover an opportunity to turn that obstacle into a stepping stone to success? Are you willing to crawl just to keep moving forward?

I understand that many of us become frustrated and disappointed with the working world. As you grow up, it is an enormous disenchantment to realize that most of what you are taught by your relatives or peers about success is not the real facts.

You learn that you should just work hard at whatever job you get, and you can succeed. But when you are working hard at a position where you build someone else's dream instead of yours, or your boss does not appreciate your efforts, you are getting no satisfaction or fulfillment.

I am not trying to push you to get a business on your own but to find a better avenue for your future. If you desire to be successful, then you have to begin preparing your mind to realize that success is not going to be an easy stroll through the park.

The Peaks and Valleys of Success
First, success comes with loving what you do. And like any admiring, it often means being passionate and persistent to accomplish your dreams. Set-backs, barriers, and failures will always be a part of any success and victory. You need to know it is all of those peaks and valleys that make success so rewarding and prodigious.

"Success is going from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm." - Winston Churchill
In second, be attentive to your mindset because sometimes, it can become the main obstacle to your success. Your mind may come to tell you that you are not able to reach the goals you have set for yourself. And it especially happens when you stand in the midst of times of trouble.

The Tangible Term of Success
The moment that defines success is when you realize what type of warrior you really are. There is more to success than what meets the eye. Understand it is not only working hard because if it were, but millions of people around the world would also be much more successful than they are now.

Are you working for someone else? If yes, think about the investment of time and energy you are giving to someone else's dream. You are building their vision, not yours. Of course, the definition of success is different for each of us. So, be aware of what your extraordinary efforts can get you in the long run.

If you do not obtain some benefits from driving your energy into your job, then it is time to reflect. Success should not be to exhaust yourself if all that investment on your part does not translate into some tangible achievement. It is non-sense to donate every waking moment to your job if you still get a miserable raise at the end.

The Ingredients of Success
The ingredients you always need to have for the journey to success are many but let sum up to the most important ones. These components can take you further than any other qualities. You need the power that no matter what, you keep going and conquer any obstacles in your way.

"If you're going through hell, keep going." - Winston Churchill
Ingredient of Success - Persistence
When you can put your mind to something and are willing to do whatever it takes, success can only follow. But you need a lot of patience, put in tons of time and often adjust your strategy to get there.

It is where you have to apply the "10 times rule," from a great entrepreneur of our time, which is to expect ten times more than what you initially thought or calculated.

Ingredient of Success - Process
The process is a part of success. You cannot dwell on each setback or failure along with your journey, as they are merely stepping-stones to make you move forward and avoid the same mistake. Try to see them as lessons that shape who you are as you go.

Ingredient of Success - Fearlessness
Stop asking for easy ways or shortcuts, and break your belief that every successful people were born that way. The reality is that every successful person is fearless and ambitious. Fearlessness and boldness are components you should get more interested in.

Ingredient of Success - Courage
At times, moments of setback, loss, failure, and concern will come along the way. So when they do, make an effort to nourish your courage rather than fueling your fears. Parts of your journey to success will be hellish and challenging, but there is the only thing that makes it worse, and it is giving up.

Ingredient of Success - Vision
To be successful in everything you do and in life, you will need to have the vision to see it through. It means that you might have to battle, run, walk, and even crawl before you can fly. But if you have the drive and the willpower, not only will you win, but you will achieve success.

No one said success was going to be easy, but it is not impossible if you have the right mindset and understand, imagine, accept and overcome the challenges along your path to victory.

The Magic Ingredient of Success
Forget the good fortune of coming from a wealthy family, or having an excellent education in school as an element for success but instead realize that believing in yourself is the magic ingredient for it. Self-belief associated with sheer determination is what success and fulfillment are made of.

"Champions keep playing the game until they get it right." - Billie Jean King
So, if you want to become a champion in your life, in anything you undertake or in your calling, keep moving forward. Learn to keep playing the game until you win, no matter what adversities you face. It is the only way you will ever achieve success!

Success Is Not Easy
Now, you can see that there is more to success than just hard work. And remember that if you decide to be an entrepreneur, you will likely become a leader. So the qualities to inspire others, as well as your determination and belief in what you are doing, will be the critical elements to your personal growth and success.

Remember also another important point! There will be days where your actions will be big ones, while other days, even doing your best will bring only very little. My advice is to keep moving forward with persistence until you reach success.

You are the captain of your ship called life, so you decide which way to sail. And if, on your journey to success, you have to battle, run, walk or even crawl, make sure that you care about what impact you make on others. So keep moving forward, and success will follow.

Achieve Success Through Judicious Use of Your Time

Success according to one financial expert, is "rarely an overnight phenomenon. It "is invariably the result of years of effort, of failures and restart, of hurdles cleared and problems avoided".

Yes, one day you will be where you've always wanted to be. But this will, however, depend on how judicious you make use of the time available to you.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams and work hard towards achieving them. The future belongs to those who keep pushing on and on, even when they have nothing left. The future belongs to them that do not cower in the face discouragement because they have set a goal so high that even failure, unemployment, recession, depression cannot destroy.

When such ones fail, they get up again and start all over for they see failure as a stepping stone and a reason to learn better ways of doing business.

But back in the days I didn't understand this philosophy.

Back in the days, I was an avid political critic, supporting one political party against the other and preferring one candidate against the other. I will spend several hours reading political analysis in the news prints, criticizing government's policies that do not resonate with me and gluing myself to the television to remain politically informed.

There's nothing wrong with having such a hubby really, other than that I realized along the line that those activities do not add any value to my financial wellbeing. They did not put money in my pocket. They were liabilities holding me captive. They were my comfort zone. And of course a comfort zone is a poverty zone. You do not grow financially in your comfort zone. So I had to break free from these habits to seek personal development. To engage in activities that can enable me leave a legacy. Now I have learned to surround myself with people who can inspire me. I study materials that can promote my financial intelligence.

Presently, many people have yet to realize this. Some feel that, because they have monthly paycheck, they do not need to seek other opportunities. But Robert Kiyosaki said "SALARY alone can not solve your money problems. You need a Secondary Source of income to balance". And again he said, "SALARY is the MEDICINE for managing POVERTY, it doesn't CURE it. Only your BUSINESS or INVESTMENT Cures Poverty".

Which of us do not know someone who was rich previously but is poor now? Have you ever stop to ask why? The "why" of course, is that his income stopped because his job stopped and he does have residual, passive income to keep him afloat. Network marketing affords individuals the opportunity to develop passive income.

Why have some chosen this platform? Among many other reasons, network marketing allows you to set up a business with minimal cost and with little or no overhead. More so, it is flexible. It can be done part time or fulltime and you have the rare privilege to choose the number of hours to work.

Stop hoping that one day government will solve your financial problems. That doesn't happen anywhere in the world. Your destiny is in your hands and it's never late to begin right now.

Why an Indomitable Will Is the Key to Success

The Power of Resilience

A young man asked Socrates what the key to success was. So he invited him to meet at the river the following morning.

There, he asked the young man to walk into the river with him.

As the water made its way up to their necks, Socrates suddenly ducked him into the water. He struggled furiously, but Socrates kept him under until he turned blue in the face.

The young man struggled to free himself but finally came up, gasping for air.

"What did you want most when you were under water?" asked Socrates.

"Air," the man replied.

"That's the most important key to success. Wanting it as much as you want air. For only then will it be yours."

This delightful tale underscores the message that success emanates from strong desire and inspired action.

Success is a tough game because we assume it is linear. However, in real life it involves setbacks, failures, detours and minor victories.

But the failures and setbacks deter people from realising their dreams.

Mental and emotional resilience is essential to overcome these obstacles.

"Resilience and Motivation are two of the critical abilities for which Winner's Brains are wired," state authors Jeff Brown and Mark Fenske in The Winner's Brain: 8 Strategies Great Minds Use to Achieve Success.

Resilience is associated with the Navy Seals who undergo rigorous training known as BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL) during their initiation. The training eliminates a large portion of candidates due to the mental, emotional and physical demands placed on new recruits.

It is this same resilience that must be summoned to chase your dreams.

You must develop an unquestionable will to succeed, no matter the setbacks that will arise.

A strong determination is fuelled by a powerful force encouraging you to endure in the face of setbacks.

I call it having a compelling Why?

Your Why is your motivation to succeed. It is the reason you rise above your challenges when it matters most.

I don't believe life tests us so much as it prepares us for what is to come.

"If you rise from a fall once, you become that much more confident you can rise again," affirms author Sam Weinman in Win at Losing: How Our Biggest Setbacks Can Lead to Our Greatest Gains.

Obstacles force us to take massive action or regrettably, concede defeat.

It the same process the Navy Seals undergo. The commanding officers test their resolve to decide if the men can deal with dire conditions.

Life prepares you for success by forcing you to reach beyond your comfort zone.

It poses challenges to nurture your resilience, though you may realise at some point that the goal or dream is not what you really want.

Most people have dreams they aspire to, but few have the indomitable will to succeed in the face of obstacles.

Success Shapes Character

As the saying goes: to the victor go the spoils.

The human will compels you to persevere in the face of adversity.

It lights up the flame of your spirit and sends you forth to meet challenges armed with courage, strength and resilience.

Without these powers, you are at the mercy of conceding defeat because of weak motivation.

With a powerful will, there is determination and decisiveness to your actions. You are resolute, firm and compelled to overcome life's obstacles, knowing they are placed in your path to nourish you.

"It's not what happens to us, but our response to what happens to us that hurts us," avows the late author Stephen R. Covey in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

You should avoid short term disappointments and smaller prizes to achieve your long-term goals.

It is said success is a journey not a destination. Whilst an overused cliché, there is merit to its meaning.

Without setbacks and failures, you are unable to develop the fortitude and strength to meet your dreams when they arrive.

Success shapes a person's character. It sharpens the saw as Stephen R. Covey states.

Therefore, connect with a powerful Why and nurture it if you wish to succeed. I assure you, when the time is right you will be greeted with the finest victory imaginable.

Remember: what you seek is seeking you, as long as you stay committed to the path.

The will to succeed is apparent when you face your challenges and setbacks. No one grows in perfect conditions. In moments of darkness, you either rise above your impediments or cower in defeat.

The American New Thought author, Napoleon Hill, writes in The Law of Success in Sixteen Lessons: "Until a man selects a definite purpose in life he dissipates his energies and spreads his thoughts over so many subjects and in so many different directions that they lead not to power, but to indecision and weakness."

An Optimistic Outlook

Success coaches refer to will as grit: the inner resolve, courage and strength of character to persist through adversity.

To develop an indomitable will and harness an optimistic outlook, irrespective of what transpires. Optimism is an inner knowing that conditions will turn out for the best regardless of what lays ahead.

Similarly, develop a powerful will through your accomplishments and seeing the process through to completion.

I'm reminded of the story author Napoleon Hill tells of a prospector who spent months digging for gold, before giving up and selling his equipment to a junk man. The junk man made millions soon after discovering a trace of gold less than a metre from where the prospector had stopped digging.

An indomitable will is essential for success otherwise you succumb to the pressures of life. The will lights the flame of hope and courage and encourages progress.

It is the American author and speaker John C. Maxwell who captured it perfectly in his book The Difference Maker: Making Your Attitude Your Greatest Asset: "Most people want to change the world to improve their lives, but the world they need to change first is the one inside themselves."

So, do not wish for better conditions or an easier path because you will become listless and discouraged.

Persevere and endure your challenges.

It would be remiss of me to come this far and not mention Professor of Psychology Carol Dweck who states in Mindset: How You Can Fulfil Your Potential: "The passion for stretching yourself and sticking to it, even (or especially) when it's not going well, is the hallmark of the growth mindset."

An indomitable will to succeed will lead you far in your journey of self-discovery.

The desire must emerge from within and be matched with the same need for air, as told in the opening tale.

Only then will you realise the narrative of your success story is far greater than you ever imagined.

How To Step Up And Stand Out To Create A Life Full Of Meaning

Take Action NOW

A life of meaning becomes apparent by stepping up to play a greater version of your life.

Commitment and passion are essential to living a complete life. One calls you to honour your path and the other to embrace the challenges that lie ahead.

To play big in the game of life, one must take bold risks without retreating into the comforts of the known.

Many people prefer the path less trodden. They work in jobs they dislike to pay the bills and do what's required of them while living ordinary lives. However, this way of life suffocates your magnificence by conforming to societal norms.

You are meant to achieve more.

Your limiting beliefs hold you back from claiming your greatness and purpose because you question your unworthiness.

"We experience the greatest richness in our lives when we invest in some task or value and it returns to us by way of satisfaction or meaning," writes James Hollis in What Matters Most: Living a More Considered Life.

I invite you to go all out and not hold back. A life of regret is not a life of meaning but one of guilt and misery.

There is no joy in lamenting the past, for the best time to take action is NOW.

Meaning is found when you venture into the unknown. There, your greatest accomplishments arise when you draw on your inner resources.

It is not enough to survive, you must thrive in all areas of life to realise your full potential.

To stand out means to live boldly, to impact your life and the lives of others.

It's no coincidence that you are endowed with precious gifts and talents. Perhaps you are still discovering them, yet the common thread is not withholding them due to fear.

Fear keeps you trapped in a self-imposed prison and stifles your genius if you buy into its narrative.

"As soon as you believe that a label you've put on yourself is true, you've limited something that is literally limitless, you've limited who you are into nothing more than a thought," affirms the spiritual leader Adyashanti in Falling into Grace.

A Journey of Inner Discovery

Life is replete in meaning when you step up. In those moments your true calling is known, for you have dared to venture into the depths of your greater self.

You cannot go back to your former life once you've awakened your talents and genius, for you evolve to a higher state of consciousness.

There is nothing satisfying in pursuing the ideals society lays out for you. These are the norms rather than the rules. You must become the exception - the trailblazer destined to embark on a heartfelt journey of inner discovery.

"Let success mean only that you're committed, and failure only that you've made insufficient progress," writes Alex Lickerman in The Undefeated Mind: On the Science of Constructing an Indestructible Self.

You may have an inner calling, yet contemplate whether to turn this into a viable career.

Here's my one minute wisdom: I don't know the answer and neither do you.

The only way to find out is to try. Lay it on the line and take a risk, however small or big. You won't know until you keep trying. Yes, you will fail. You will also fall and not want to get up.

However, your efforts may pay off and you will be rewarded. On the other hand, it may not work out initially.

Nevertheless, follow your impulses and try again.

It is a deeper sense of meaning that summons you to give it all you've got until you succeed.

Author Victor J. Strecher writes in his book Life on Purpose: How Living for What Matters Most Changes Everything: "So let your purpose be big, lofty, even outrageous! I want to wake up in the morning with my purpose foremost in mind and go to bed at night knowing that I worked toward it."

Life will kick you hard when you're down and insist you to stay there. But when you play big, falling down is your lesson and getting back up becomes your journey of self-discovery.

As often stated, it is not how many times you fall, but how often you rise. In those moments, your inner resolve, passion, and commitment to stepping up counts.

My fascination with authenticity has grown in recent times to such a degree that I devoted an entire book to it titled, Awaken Your Authentic Self.

Authenticity means aligning with the essence of your greater self. It is the higher mind, not the scared and anxious small self which convinces you of your unworthiness.

As you merge with your authentic self, you awaken your inner powers and step into the life destined for you.

It's not enough to read inspirational posts on Instagram or Facebook, hoping to feed your soul and go back to living a conventional life. You must take bold action, even in the face of fear and doubt.

"It's never too late to start. It's always too late to wait," states author Jeff Olson in The Slight Edge.

The magic comes at a price and is the tantalising fruit dangling at the end of a branch. For you must climb out of your comfort zone to seize it, and only then will the spoils be awarded to you.

What do you have to lose?

Your pride? Your sense of security?

Consider what you will gain when you step into a life of greatness. To focus on your shortfalls means missing out on the rewards.

Step out on a limb if you wish to realise your hopes and dreams. No one will do it for you. No one will care if you don't take risks, but many will if you succeed.

"The three killers of dreams are detail-itis, excuse-itis, and the hesitation virus. And they all stem from doubt," says author Larry Weidel in Serial Winner: 5 Actions to Create Your Cycle of Success.

A Life of Greatness

It does not serve you to blend in with the masses, to be popular one day and discarded the next. The unpopular and nonconformists are those who make a dent in the world.

If you want to create an impression in your life and the lives of others, dare to be different. Dare to expose your uniqueness. Dare to be someone you've never been before.

Take risks, small ones - big ones. Who cares, just take them for goodness' sake. Stop hiding behind your pride or wallowing in your sense of entitlement. You are not entitled to anything other than hard work, perseverance and grit.

So, fail often. Fail fast. Embrace your failures and stop hiding behind your doubts because they're killing you, one breath at a time.

Learn quickly and embrace the opportunities that come your way. Expect nothing other than gratitude to play your hand as you see fit.

Some cards will fall your way, other won't. That's life. Try again.

When you're consumed by tiredness, go deeper into yourself. That's the 1% where the magic happens.

Author Larry Weidel says: "Winners know that if you don't figure out what you want, you'll get whatever life hands you."

Don't settle for second best. Second best is life of mediocrity. A life of mental and emotional torment. A life of doubt and resentment. Don't be that person. The fire in your belly is there for a reason, don't extinguish it before it burns brightly.

Laugh at your mistakes and cry at your setbacks. Be as human as you openly can be and enjoy your frailties and shortcomings.

Embrace the person you are today because like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon, you will be a different person tomorrow when you step up and stand out.

I wish to leave you with a passage from author Vishen Lakhiani's book The Code of the Extraordinary Mind: 10 Unconventional Laws to Redefine Your Life and Succeed On Your Own Terms: "What if life was not meant to be safe? Instead, what if it was meant to be a beautiful joyride, with ups and downs as we take off the training wheels of the culturescape and try out things outside what is practical or realistic?"

So, strap yourself in for a wondrous exploration to the core of your being; the centre of your universe.

When you arrive, you will unite with the essence of your greater self, the timeless being who has survived many setbacks.

The person to scale the greatest summit in their quest to create a life of meaning, not regret.
