How To Become Your True Self.

If you are reading this, then, learning how to become your true self is one thing you and I have in common. We share this immense desire to transform our lives and go beyond our current way of life. But sadly, most people live their lives pretty much the same way, having no clue to why they exist.
But why should you bother to grow into the person you are meant to be? How can you discover your real reason for living? What can you learn from it? And what can you accomplish?

First, you have to live and be your authentic self. Your mission in life is to express your true self boldly, create what you love and also love what you do. Believe it or not, you can transform your life and be what you truly desire. But it also means moving beyond your current way of living and accepting new habits.

Discovering Your Why
For most people, life is not a perfect and clear picture. We all go through struggles. Thousands of people have no clue to what they should do. But is not life a journey of self-discovery?

If you want to be your true self, you have to be curious, open to exploring the unknown, and ready to accept the surprises that come along your path. It is the only way to discover what makes you feel alive. Even the most significant figures in history started from somewhere confusing, but if you are like me, you probably like a lot of things.

"He who has a 'why' can endure any 'how.'" - Frederick Nietzsche
So, knowing your reason for living is a vital step in becoming your true self and creating a life you enjoy living instead of merely going through the motions. Yet, a lot of people know their "why" but do not dare to follow through with it. They are scared of what might happen, looking at what could go wrong rather than focusing on what could go right.

Stepping into Your True Self
If you feel unsure of yourself, know that you are not alone since most people are in the same boat.

To be what you ultimately want, you have to change some things in your life, even direction, which is not always easy. It is a lifelong process of believing, learning, growing, and evolving while following your vision.

Thus, the next crucial step to becoming your true self in life is to commit. You need to choose if you want to make a change or transform your life this year. Stick to it, whatever comes your way. And then, begin spending time with books, positive influences, and information about your field.

Albert Einstein had a mentor, Max Talmud, who once a week introduced the young Einstein to math, science, and philosophy. Mozart had his father who was a renowned composer himself, which assisted the child in developing his abilities. So, every master was once a beginner!

Obeying Your Gut Feelings

"You have to trust in something? Your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life." -Steve Jobs
Don't get me wrong; it takes courage to challenge the ideas that make one successful. But getting lost in the crowd is also not your most elegant option. No one ever made a difference by being like everyone else. Since childhood, you can agree, that no matter the noise, your true self always finds a way to whisper to you.

In fact, it is that little voice that gives you hints at some moment in life, telling you that you are wrong. And it only is when you decide to trust it and follow it that you will feel being on the right track. Yet, it might be an uncomfortable and even tricky journey. The burden will be so massive that you will want to give up or give it all you have got. Go for the last one.

Being Your Authentic Self
When you begin to follow your gut and become your true self, haters will come into the picture. Going against what society expects of you is hard. But believe me; it pays to follow your gut if you have the determination to finish what you start.

So, do me a favor next time you hear an irritating doubt in your head about not keeping conventional wisdom because you secretly questioned it. Just try the exact opposite of what doubt tells you to do and see what happens?

Therefore, be your authentic self, your true self. Do not let the expectations and opinions of other people limit who you are or affect your decisions. It is your life, not theirs. Do what matters most to you, not what is convenient. There is more to life than pleasing others. So, you need to make a choice.

Pursuing Your True Self
Too many gifted people are not benefiting from what they are good at. You have a unique gift, and the world should know about it. But you might not trust yourself enough yet. You can be as big and successful as you can imagine. No matter whom you are or what you dream of doing,

So, make the bold challenge to pursue your true self and what you want. The only thing you need is to follow something you are emotionally and genuinely connect with. Then bit by bit, make an impact. Leave a mark with every opportunity you have. Yet, you have to prepare for the sarcasm and rejection.

But do not quit! And do not think too far into the future. There are always rules, but guess what, rules and limits can be stretched. The things around you which you call life are made by people that were no smarter than you. So you can change it, and even influence it.

Creating Your True Self
If you have to accept a wrong job just because you need to pay the bills while working on your vision, then do it. But do not, like most people for the sake of security, endure the pain of doing for life what you do not want. It is always possible to create your own path by becoming your true self!

And if you believe you cannot, know that you can do much more than you think. The crucial thing about any journey is the courage to get back up again and continue after failing. There are countless stories told about people who failed numerous times. And yet, they kept chasing their dreams in the midst of the stumbling hurdles in their way and succeeded.

As a result, your path could change, but your vision has to stay clear throughout your journey. And understand that you do not have to be right, you just need to start. So, stick to your true self and the bigger picture while getting prepared to adjust and accept change along the way.

Daring to Be Your True Self
Dare to be your true self by expressing yourself fully. Do not hold back. Keep doing what you love, even if at first, no one shares it, buys it, or also sponsors it. Show up every day and trust in the process. Eventually, the magic will happen!

"Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it."- Bruce Lee
You have to stop listening to everyone else. Most people tend to think that they are not good enough and give up before they even start anything. And yes, criticism, doubt, fear and insecurity are always present, so the only solution to be your true self is to just act in spite of them.

Shaping Your True Self
What matters is that you persist. Stay determined. Give yourself permission to make mistakes and be okay with it when you do. Learn from it, and move on to the next action. Picasso, Mozart, and countless others achieved mastery of their art after years of trials and errors. But they kept going, and never held back.

Of course, you cannot predict the future, but you can help shape it. It does not matter what happened to you in the past, where you come from or what is happening to you now. But what matters is the actions you take with what happens and with the potential you have to be your true self.

And to wait for the perfect moment to start out on a career that means the world to you is a waste of time. The mind can convince you into believing that you are never ready. It might be very uncomfortable at first. But you deserve to become your true self. So do not overlook the train of opportunities anymore.

3 Clues to Your "Why"

If you want to make a difference and live a life of significance, you find your why. You need to tap into your purpose. Everybody has one. Your why is the life's blood of your ability to achieve significance.

If you know your why and focus on going there with fierce determination, you can make sense of everything on your journey because you see it through the lens of "Why". Once you find your "Why", you will be able to find your "Way". How do those things differ? "Why" is your purpose. "Way" is your path. When you find your "Why", your path automatically has purpose. And life becomes much more meaningful and complete because you have context to understand the reason you are on the journey the first place.

Does the "Why" always comes first? Can you find your way and then find your "Why"? You may be wondering. What has to come first? The good news is that either can come first. But if the "Why" comes before the way, your ability to tap into power of significance will come more quickly and immediately be more effective.

Think of it like this. Have you ever wondered why people often find great joy in packing for a vacation? They spend weeks building up great anticipation, looking forward to those warm days on a tropical beach or trips down the slopes of their favorite ski resort. So they pick out each item that goes into the suitcase with great care.

When you get ready for a great trip, almost all your effort is focused on your purpose of the trip. That's why it's a lot more fun to pack for a trip than it is to unpack afterward. This concept applies more broadly to our lives. Whatever path you travel, you are going to be able to do things more significantly because you understand your purpose for being there.

When you start your day with your "Why", you will find yourself continually doing things that inspire you. Finding your "Why" gives you the focused and driven energy.

If you tap into your "Why", your life will open up to significance. It will be within your reach every day because you will be able to do simple things that matter. Significance is usually not a result of anything spectacular. It is based on small steps in line with purpose. Knowing your "Why" helps you to know what to do and to follow through.

Know yourself and settle your "Why", and you will have the capacity to focus on others.

Knowing your "Why" gives you great security and comfort in everything you attempt to do That confidence and self assuredness is usually appealing and reassuring to others because most people long for it.

The first question you must ask yourself is this: How can I add value to others? If you can quiet yourself enough to listen for that answer from within yourself, you will begin to understand your why.

I have to tell you that this question has been the foundation and driver of every significant act in my life. Did you get that? Having a life that matters comes from the ability to add value to others. This is where significance starts. Let that idea stir within you.

So here are three questions you can ask yourself and which will help you to find your "Why".

Here we go. Here is question number 1.

Question number 2 and 3, I will share with you in the following weeks.

Question 1:

What do you cry about?

This first question asks you to look inside yourself and think about what breaks your heart. What disturbs you? What inflicts emotional pain? What causes you so much discomfort that you are motivated to take action and do something to bring healing to that situation?

So, what makes you cry? What makes your heart break? What touches you at the depth of your soul? Do you already know the answer? Or is it something you need to start exploring and thinking about?

When trying to figure out what makes you cry, you can look at your personal history. You can think back to your childhood. You can tap into social justice issues that get you angry. You can think about the last thing you got highly emotional about - or the thing that you always get emotional about. Any of these things can be clues to what makes you tick. And they will help identify your "Why".

Question 2:

What do you sing about?

What always makes you happy? What puts a bounce in your step? What makes you jump for joy or spontaneously break into song? Emerson said: "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well".

Doing acts of significance brings you more deep satisfaction than any other work. It fires you up and keeps you going. As the saying goes, work is not work unless you would rather by doing something else.

What do you sing about? What gives you great joy? What feeds your passion? What feeds your soul? What gets you excited?

When you ask other people "What do you sing about?" many people respond by thinking about what entertains them. There is certainly nothing wrong with being entertained or having fun. But what we really talk about is something that makes contented joy spontaneously rise up within you. It's the kind of thing you would do for free, just because. Once again, these are clues that help you to understand your purpose and know your "Why".
