How To Be As Confident As A Genius

The Oxford Dictionaries describes "genius" as being:

- Exceptional intellectual or creative power or other natural ability.

And

- Very clever or ingenious.

For this article I'll be focusing on the "creative" or "ingenious" element of being a genius.

I'll show you how you can think up "creative" or "ingenious" ways of looking at confidence. Each new way of looking at your self-esteem you come up with, will take you one step closer to being:

- Even more confident, and

- Being a confidence genius.

I must warn you in advance that until you get used to this technique it can make your head hurt as it makes your brain really work.

The technique is simple. All you do is compare anything with confidence, and ask yourself how are they similar. That's it! A simple but very powerful technique.

Let me give you an example.

As I sit here typing, some of the things I can see are:

1 - A garden fence,

2 - A bird box,

3 - A six plug extension lead,

4 - A beard (on the TV), and

5 - Rain.

That's the easy part. Now for the hard part. How are these objects like confidence? Asking this question will give me new insights into confidence. Here goes. I'll just work with the first one.

1 - A Garden Fence. Firstly I'll write down the characteristics of the fence. It holds back stuff. It provides privacy. It provides security. It's bio degradable. It's been painted to blend into the surroundings rather than stand out. It's strong. It marks the boundary of what is mine and what belongs to other people. It cuts down on noise pollution coming into my garden. The birds use it as a place to watch out for my cats. I can hang things off it. The plants can grow up it.

Now I'll write down at least one insight for each characteristic.

A - It holds back stuff. Insight = I'll be able to say no to things I want to say no to.

B - It provides privacy. Insight = No one can see inside my mind and heart, so they can't see how confident or insecure I am feeling. It's only what they see on my outside and how I act that determines how confident they think I am.

C - It provides security. Insight = If I have self-esteem, it'll protect me form those who want to hurt me.

D - It's bio degradable. Insight = My confidence is not damaging, in fact it benefits the world I live in.

E - It's been painted to blend into the surroundings rather than stand out. Insight = People won't see the effort I put into developing my self-esteem, they'll just see the increased results and success I have.

F - It's strong. Insight = Once I have become more confident, no one can take that away from me unless I let them.

G - It marks the boundary of what is mine and what belongs to other people. Insight = I can either build a stronger fence to shut people out more, or a smaller fence to welcome people in. If I can increase my self-esteem, I'll be more comfortable letting more people in, and this is a good thing.

H - It cuts down on noise pollution coming into my garden. Insight = Confidence makes my life more pleasant.

I - The birds use it as a place to watch out for my cats. Insight = If I have more self-esteem I'll be better able to look out for dangers coming my way. More importantly I'll also be able to look out for opportunities.

J - I can hang things off it. Insight = Confidence is useful. The stronger it is the more things I'll be able to do.

K - The plants can grow up it. Insight = If I have more self-esteem, even more will come to me naturally.

L - If cared for it will be around for many years. Insight = If I do regular, daily, maintenance to my confidence, it will look after me for a lifetime.

Wow. Now my head is hurting. As you can see I've quite a few insights there. Some insights will just be reminders of what you know already. Some will be more useful than others. You need to work through your insights and decide which ones you will use and how you will use them.

Now all the above thinking is going to be wasted unless it changes your behaviour.

The next stage is for you to figure out what you'll do differently moving forward to give you more confidence. Without a change in behaviour the thinking will be wasted. The thinking alone is not enough to increase your self-esteem.

You need to start by just taking one insight, for instance the one that came from the fence being bio-degradable.

You need to figure out how that insight is going to make you behave differently. You need to come up with actions as a result of your insight.

Action = I will get excited about increasing my self-esteem, and using it to leave a legacy for the world. To start this off I'll have a five minute brainstorm, and list as many ways my increased confidence can leave the world a better place when I am gone.

What I'll do now is spend five minutes furiously tapping away at my computer (with my kitchen timer counting down the five minutes) listing as many ways which increasing my self-esteem from right now, throughout my life, until I die - will enrich the world i.e. leave a legacy. Once I have the list I'll work out some of the things I'll need to do to make it happen, and start doing some actions towards that today.

What this confidence-genius exercise has done for me is to give me a much greater reason for wanting to improve my self-esteem. It's not just about me having a better life anymore. It's about using my life to leave the world a much better place for future generations. Who'd have thought that would come from looking at a garden fence!

This technique is not quick, but is well worth your investment in time and energy. Once you've learnt it, you can also use it to tackle any problem you have.

Give it a try right now. Invest at least a few minutes now, working through this technique, And remember once you've done this you can call yourself a confidence genius.

No Matter What A Woman Looks Like, If She's Confident, She's Sexy (By Rosemarie Sumalinog Gonzales)

Sexiness is not the way a woman looks, but the way she carries herself. It is about her depth, and substance. Beyond her physical appearance, a sexy woman has a dignified choices, and a refined character.

The beauty of a lady isn't within the garments she wears, the figure that she carries or the means she combs her hair. How a lady carries herself and also the means she dresses have to be compelled to promote the subsequent kinds of words: modesty, discretion, wisdom, beauty, magnificence and refinement, however not sensuousness, luxury, extravagance.

To be yourself in an exceedingly world is the greatest accomplishment. Sexiness comes not from not what you look nut on how you carry yourself with grace and confidence. With every step you are taking, you'll grow stronger and stronger, more skillful, confident, and undefeated.

Trust yourself. produce the type of self that you simply are going to be happy to measure with all of your life. create the foremost of yourself by fanning the small, inner sparks of risk into flames of accomplishment.

Being an attractive woman means acting like a lady. It means having a firm management of words and actions; acknowledging weaknesses; bearing in mind that if somebody angers, it's rather more effective to reply in a sensible manner than a belligerent manner.

A sexy lady is stable and secure. Wondrously caring and infinitely smitten is that the attractive lady. However she is proud of her immense self-worth. For this reason, she doesn't throw herself at anyone. The sexiest girls know when to decision and when to refrain from occupation. The esteem isn't stricken by the approval or attention of anyone.

No matter what form or size you are, you ought to feel assured of yourself. The age of a lady is not an issue. In fact, there is nothing sexier than a wise lady. A really appealing lady thinks before she speaks and acts. Emotions are the result of a habit, and the sexy woman has gotten into the habit of mastering her emotions so that they cannot master her. In other words, a sexy woman is not dominated by negative emotions.

Above all, a sexy woman knows how to control her emotions. Even if she is really boiling up, she can still stay calm and compose. A truly appealing woman thinks before she speaks and acts. Wisdom can be developed at any age and contributes tremendously to the charm of a woman.

As women, we want to be considered sexy far beyond our looks. So, what are you waiting for? Be positive in your outlooks and everything else will follow.

7 Secrets to Improve Self-Esteem

Low self-esteem is not a problem only faced by teenagers and youngsters.

There are many adults today - even in their golden years - who don't have good self-esteem.

This is sad because low self-esteem can make our relationships suffer, we are constantly envying other people and make us feel... pretty much lousy about ourselves.

It's time to change that!

Good Self-Esteem Will Make You Feel Great About Yourself

I'm sure you know a person or 2 who are comfortable in their own skin.

They don't crumble when people criticise them unjustly. They are comfortable saying 'I'm sorry' when they are wrong. And they are confident of their own talents. They can laugh at themselves.

The wonderful thing about high self-esteem is that it gives us

more success at work
we seem more attractive to our partners
we don't need others' approval
life seems more bright and joyful and less gloomy
we feel great about ourselves

However, I don't think it's our fault entirely if we have low self-esteem.

That's because the way our parents brought us up, had a HUGE impact on our confidence levels.

Were you expected to be 'perfect' when you were young?
Were you harshly criticised if you had a big dream or wanted something badly?
Were you constantly compared to other kids?
Have you 'failed' at achieving something (eg: losing a game, scoring a D in an exam) and made to feel as though you were a complete failure as a person?

The above are some examples of how our parents might have unknowingly stumped our self-esteem.

7 Ways to Re-build Our Self-Esteem

01

Accomplish more
I'm not referring to accomplishing something as big as winning an award or getting a medal at some sports event.

We can set small goals, pursue the small goals and achieve them. Once we've achieved our goals - be it small or big goals - we will have esteem-like feelings.

Make sure that the goals you set bring satisfaction to yourself. Don't set goals to please another person or to get praise!

Do you know what's interesting?

Bragging a little bit of our accomplishments on Facebook or Instagram can also boost our self-esteem. Just don't overdo it or we will be a tad annoying 😉

02

Be Aware of Your Talents
This might seem obvious to some of us.

But low self-esteem people are not aware or choose to ignore their strengths.

If you put pen to paper and list your strengths and talents, you might be surprised that your list is longer than you thought.

Or, you can get a trusted person to list your strengths. You will get insight into your talents you were not aware of!

03

Treat yourself like a worthwhile person
This is where self-care comes in.

Pamper yourself with a massage, a warm bath, diffuse some essential oils (geranium essential oil evokes feelings of self-love if you are into the metaphysical), play with a pet or child, journal, exercise, dine at your favourite place... basically do activities which make you feel awesome.

These feel-good activities will send signals to your mind that you are a valuable person worthy of nice things in life.

04

Fake it till you make it
Is there a celebrity whom you admire because she is so confident of herself during interviews?

Or someone you know personally?

We can model their body language. Confident people tend to shake hands firmly, make eye contact, speak clearly and stand tall. When we adopt their body language, people will treat us with respect which in turn, makes us feel confident.

I personally admire Queen Rania of Jordan. She gently draws boundaries when meeting people in public places whilst maintaining a smile on her face and very polite body language even when unknown women rush to smother her with hugs at events.

Jennifer Lopez is another celebrity who is a master in people skills. She can answer awkward interview questions with jokes, she laughs at herself and effortlessly makes herself seem humble and approachable. It's a well-honed skill.

05

Talk & spend time with high self-esteem people
I adore spending time with people who are positive.

They help me to reframe any problem I have as something that will pass.

High self-esteem people will make us feel energised and recharged after spending time with them.

They are open to admit any mistakes or 'failures' they've had and they will still be supportive of us when we make mistakes ourselves.

In short, they accept you for who you are, flaws and all.

Value these people tightly.

06

Be Kind to Yourself
I like a quote I came across recently: "You can't get life wrong because there's no such thing as getting life right."

Everybody makes mistakes. Successful people make even more mistakes than the average person.

When we 'fail' at something, focus on tweaking our strategies. 'Failures' are feedback that our strategies need tweaking.

'Failures' have nothing to do with us as a person. So don't beat ourselves up when we falter.

07

Tame the inner critic
All of us have inner critics. These pesky little things will negate our capabilities.

Inner critic example: "My superior praised my work today. I think he was just being polite. Or maybe he is in a good mood. I'm sure my work wasn't that fantastic."

We can reframe it with: "I feel good that my superior praised my work today. It may not be perfect, but I did the best I could. I feel proud for pushing myself."

I've heard of a successful businessman who has an unorthodox approach to this. He visualises his inner critic as an iguana (of all things!). He said that all of us have these 'iguanas' living in our minds.

When negative self-talk starts in his mind, he will shrug it off as the 'iguana' blabbering (yet again).

This is one creative way we can separate our destructive self-talk from ourselves.

Please remember that changes in habit or mindset takes time. 🙂

We will not be a confident superstar immediately after applying all the 7 tips above. If we've been having low self-esteem for years, we can't just switch to being a confident person in 1 day.

Be kind to yourself and give yourself time to change.

Can Introverts Be Confident?

I hear this question a lot. And it's not hard to figure out why. So, CAN introverts be confident, then?

Let's have a look. But for the purpose, its important to define 'introvert'.

The Cambridge Dictionary* defines an introvert as "someone who is shy, quiet, and unable to make friends easily". However, I consider this definition not only to be lacking in detail, but also to be incorrect. I find this much more in-depth description from New World Encyclopedia** far more exhaustive:

"The introvert is introspective and finds meaning within, preferring their internal world of thoughts, feelings, fantasies, and dreams. [... ] Thus, one who is introverted is more likely to spend time alone or in contemplation, as these activities are rewarding. They may avoid social situations entirely, not because they are shy or misanthropic, but because they choose to. Introverts often enjoy long, one-on-one conversations about feelings or ideas, and may give excellent public presentations to large audiences. However, they find solitude, alone with their thoughts, nourishing and restorative."

That one hits the home run. Not only because it's more detailed, but because it makes the important distinction between introversion and shyness.

As you may have gathered, shyness is strongly associated with low confidence and self-esteem. And so, this is what makes so many people confused.

So in other words, while shy people tend to be introverted, not all introverted people are shy. And in yet other words, just because you're introverted doesn't mean you're non-fident.

On the contrary, some of the world's greatest achievers were introverts. And I don't just mean faceless, corporate suits hiding behind huge desks in tall glass buildings. We're talking Barack Obama, Albert Einstein, Lady Gaga, Mark Zuckerberg, Bob Dylan, Marilyn Monroe, Abraham Lincoln, Beyoncé Knowles, Emma Watson, Christina Aguilera, Steven Spielberg, Warren Buffett, J.K. Rowling, Michael Jordan, Harrison Ford, and Marlon Brando here.

The reason so many people ask this question, it would seem, is that in our highly media-oriented culture, introvert behavior and the daily doings of introverts isn't something we're exposed to at all.

Think about it. Introverts keep to themselves most of the time. So, do the introverts' sitting around and minding their own business get sought out by the media? Does it make for great news and entertainment?

NO, duh. What does make for great news and entertainment are the outward directed actions and creations of, well, extroverts, mostly.

And really, can you even blame any media outlets for not doing a reality-style docu-soap about 10 introverts in a house not talking to each other? I mean, I wouldn't want to watch myself silently working at my laptop and occasionally eating for 7-8 hours every day.

And yes, I just used myself as an example. Because I'm largely introvert. And yes, I still mostly choose to spend time alone. But I've learned to love speaking and performing in front of crowds, and mingle with people at events. Hell, I've even learned to accept the social Top Ramen that is small-talk.

So, straight from the horse's mouth:

It's not the introversion itself that keeps anyone from doing anything. It's simply the lack of confidence. They're two different things.

Just because introverts keep to themselves doesn't mean they can't do any of the things that extroverts do. On the contrary, if you're an introvert, you can be one of the world's richest business people.

You could be the world's most talented and successful basketball player. Founder of the world's biggest social media. One of the world's most popular and biggest-selling authors, musicians and movie directors. And did anyone say president of the United States?

The proper question, then, is not can introverts be confident?. Rather, it's can introverts be confident in a culture that values extrovert behavior?

And fortunately, the answer is a solid yes.

On the Paradox of Finding Comfort in Low Confidence

If you know anyone with low confidence, you'd want them to feel more confident, right?

However, things aren't always that simple.

Low confidence is a lot like depression. In that it has that one counter-intuitive paradox to it:

Depression and low confidence holds us back. But for that same reason, they can actually feel safe.

Indeed, confidence can be scary!

Well, actually, it's not confidence in itself that's scary. On the contrary, confidence is the antithesis to being scared.

However, if one has low confidence or none at all, the IDEA of having it can sometimes be quite frightening.

Indeed, if you have low confidence, confident people can come off as brash, intimidating, and careless towards other people's sensitivities.

Therefore, staying in your "safe spaces" can seem all too easily obvious. You don't speak up; you tend not to disagree; maybe you don't even get out much.

Ultimately, your low confidence can end up as a sort of trusted companion to you. Because not taking any risks can seem safe and secure.

And - you guessed it - here's what's wrong with that... :

Deep down and honestly, beyond all the fear, doubt and superficial comfort, we all know that we want more than that. Some of us might even know that we actually CAN DO better than that.

But taking action can be scary. Because often, we wouldn't know where to start. Nobody told us. How would we know?

And what if we mess it all up beyond repair?? We could ruin our reputation, right?! And other people would maybe LAUGH at us!!

...

Here's what we all need to realize:

The biggest risk is not taking any action at all.

Altogether now:

THE BIGGEST RISK IS NOT TAKING ANY ACTION AT ALL.

Only when we've made it fully clear to ourselves that our perceived comfort in low confidence is by far the bigger evil can we move towards action.

And the good part is that often, the biggest difference is not what action we take, rather than the fact that we take action in the first place.

See, if we truly want to get confidence, we gotta start by getting used to taking action. And, popularly speaking, this means, get off your ass and deal with your circumstances.

But no, really: If you don't take action on your own behalf, who do you expect will do it for you?

Nobody will! Your parents won't be around forever. And your friends' support, however generous, only goes so far. Their food budget isn't yours, and you can't stay on their couch forever. (Or, indeed, any couch.)

And of course, this only applies to those lucky enough to have parents and supportive friends. Not everyone is.

Whatever the case, it really is up to you to take action.

ACTION ITEM:

This week, stretch yourself. Challenge yourself in an area of your life where you have particularly low confidence. (And if that's "all of them", just pick one.)

If you're anxious about approaching other people, do it. Ask a stranger for directions anywhere and exchange a few words in the process. If you feel like you could have done a lot better, do it again.

Getting our of our comfort zone is the true killer of low confidence.

One Person I HATE More Than Anyone Else, Meet My Number 1 Enemy (By Felicia Starks)

If there's one thing I know about internet marketing journey... I've failed way more times than I've succeeded. I can even take it a step further and just flat-out admit that over the years I've failed, more often than not, in most of the other areas of my life as well.

- Business ventures

- Relationships

- Finances

- Etc, etc...

But there is always a positive side to failure...

You have nowhere to go but "up"

As Winston Churchill once said:

"Success consists of going from failure to failure

without loss of enthusiasm."

But here is one person who I HATE more than anybody else who is solely responsible for all my failures.

My Evil Twin.

You see, on the surface I may seem like a fit and cool woman who's in control of my life. And sometimes I am. But MANY times I'm NOT. Deep down inside I have an evil twin. She's this chick who has no clue what to do with her life. One side wants to eat according to her nutrition plan, get her training workout done, get her IPA's (income producing activities) done, be a great mom, daughter, sister and friend, give back to the world, and empower, uplift, inspire and positively impact people's lives. But my Evil Twin wants to sleep in without an alarm clock, skip my workout, watch "Scandal" and my favorite TV shows, eat cheat food all day, surf the web all day, and snuggle with my "blankie" on the couch.

BOTH of these people exist and are alive inside my head...

And they fight with each other all day long like Dr. Jekyll and Mrs. Hyde trying to see who can win.

And guess what?

YOU have the same two people inside YOUR head too.

The "Winner" inside all of us is who we want to be.

- In control and emotionally stable

- Confident but humble

- Driven yet balanced

- Focused and productive

- Unselfish and kind

- Patient and persistent

On the other hand, our evil twin is the person we must learn to despise. It's the person we're embarrassed about. The one we're not proud of. The one who opens their mouth and says stupid stuff we regret. The lazy one that gives up when things get tough and makes us feel like a friggin' loser.

And here's the thing...

Our Evil Twin is always there. Inside our head ready to take over and screw everything up. But don't try to ignore or deny your Evil Twin. Make sure you at least acknowledge their existence. If you don't, they'll take over your life.

Then STARVE them.

The only way to do this is to consistently FEED the "Winner" inside you BEFORE your Evil Twin takes over.

When you do, the "winner" in you becomes like a tree planted

by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose

leaf does not whither... whatever you do will prosper (Psalm 1:3).

This is how you take away ALL of your Evil Twin's powers and paralyze her from taking over your life.

So remember: you have TWO people living inside your head...

The "Winner" you want to be and the Evil Twin you despise.

The Winner in you wants to live everyday with a purpose and have an extraordinary life.

Feed her like a hungry HIPPO!

But your Evil Twin strives for mediocrity, constantly trying to beat you down and make you average. Go ahead; acknowledge your Evil Twin's existence. Then stomp her out like a fire by FEEDING the Winner inside you. It's the only way to avoid the internal poison of your Evil Twin and stop her from making you average, like the status quo and miserable.

ACTION STEPS TO KILL YOUR EVIL TWIN:

One of the most effective ways to kill your Evil Twin is by doing feared things first. Every night, right before bed, make a list of the five things you must complete the next day for you to have considered it a total success. After you've written your five things (no more, no less), figure out which item on the list you dread and fear the most.

C'mon... you know there's at least ONE thing on that list you do not want to do.

Next, schedule time to make sure you accomplish this item first, before you do anything else the next day.

In other words...

Always Attack and Do Your Feared Things First

Whether it's making a video, writing a value rich blog post, training, making a phone call you don't want to make, an unresolved conflict, or other "unfinished" business in your life...

... The more you delay or procrastinate, the more the fear will grow and build up inside of you allowing your Evil Twin to dominate your life.

But when you do your feared things first, it will empower you and amazing things will automatically start to happen to your body and your life.

Your confidence will EXPLODE.

If you're still not convinced that attacking your fears is relevant to killing your Evil Twin, while helping you achieve your dreams, goals, and desires...

Just read this quote and it you'll probably think twice:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,

talented, fabulous?'

Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking

so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

-Marianne Williamson

I totally agree. Facing your fears head on and feeding the "winner" inside you is clearly the path to reaching your full potential with your body and your life. And if you do this consistently it will take your personal discipline to a whole new level.

Is Your Life Running on Autopilot?

Ever get the feeling your life is somewhat running on autopilot?

That you're not really working on what you truly want, and that you're putting off certain necessary things because you feel a need for instant gratification?

And, in turn, do you ever think that you "really should be doing" X? That you really "ought to be doing" Y? But maybe you can't, because you "have to do" Z?

I know where you're at. It's not a good place.

Why would we allow ourselves to get there? Why would we allow ourselves to be running on autopilot like that?

As far as I can see, most people tend to let their lives run on autopilot to a certain extent. Not necessarily out of fear, but because they identify with what other ordinary people do, which is... Ordinary stuff.

Those who stand out are always the confident ones. Those who have the guts, the energy, and the resourcefulness to do what they want, and what's necessary to get to where they want.

The non-fident ones, on the other hand, tend to be full-out running on autopilot. They tend to do whatever they do, because they feel like they "should", or "have to".

And, since this is essentially an inhibitive way of living, they tend to overcompensate on activities of instant gratification, e.g. getting drunk every weekend or slouching in front of the TV when not at work. - Effectively creating a loop of guilt and emptiness without purpose.

Oh, I've been there.

Does anyone genuinely want to live like that? Of course not. But many people feel obliged to, simply because they don't know any better.

"What do you mean by "know any better"?? What exactly do I need to know then?"

Good question. And for that, you get the answer right here:

We "should" not do anything. We "ought" not do anything. In fact, we don't even "have" to do anything.

There is only what we want to do, and what is necessary to do.

"But then shouldn't we do what's necessary? Don't we HAVE to do that?"

Well, no. It'll probably have consequences if you don't. But really, we're entirely free to do whatever we want.

Confident people know this. Confident people act from a mindset of freedom and safety. Whereas non-fident people tend to act from a mindset of desperation and captivity.

"But what about paying my taxes? If I don't pay my taxes, I'll get punished somehow, right?"

Probably, yes. But that's not the point.

The point is, confident people do what they want AND what's necessary.

Not because they feel forced into doing what's necessary, but because they're proactive about not having bad consequences happen to them - and about doing what they want.

Non-fident people, then, tend to do what others want. Or at least what they think others want. And, hence, to be running on autopilot.

"I really ought to be doing my homework".

"I'm 30, I should be married by now".

"I have to get this report done on time".

I hear bells ringing all around.

I'm not saying that one's daily tasks and chores aren't at all necessary. For the major part, they ARE more or less important. But they're not necessarily essential to what we truly want to do.

ACTION ITEM:

This week, note your daily tasks by durance and importance. At the end of each day, and at the end of the week, add them all up.

How many hours a day do you spend on doing something you allegedly "have to", "need to", or "ought to"? How many hours a day do you spend on doing something you truly want to?

Trouble, the Transportation to Transformation

Image result for reach destination

Just in the midst of our gentle walk through life along comes trouble, trouble everywhere; the shortest walk we ever take in life is the walk towards trouble. The one constant is that it never arrives alone. Everyone gets their turn at meeting this undesirable companion; it happens when we are being remodeled to become something more. Trouble is the method of transportation.

Many times trouble is accompanied by losses, one right after the other. It is a shedding of the old that will no longer be needed as we become the new. What is without dispute is that a multitude of methods may be employed to take what you have but no one can take what you are destined to become. This is the joker in the deck that can trump every other card! By whatever method Is available, we all become what we are being reshaped to be.

Being forced to travel a road that is particularly difficult signifies the depth of the change we are being prepared for. It is also an indicator of how far off our chosen path we may have strayed. There are very definitive steps in the process. Just as a package is dropped into the mailbox, picked up, dropped at the post office, sorted and transported to the next facility and then on and on until it arrives at the desired destination, there are short, temporary stays on the way for humans. There will be times when the package will be temporarily out of place until it is delivered. So too is the human who is becoming; the life path will make short stops to readjust and be rerouted in order to be successfully delivered. This may leave one feeling like they are totally out of place. It is a part of the plan on the way to being delivered to the destination. Setbacks are set ups for success!

Take heart if you are in this process. Trouble prods you on down the road and forces turns that you may not have dared in the past. Those uncomfortable places where you feel stalled and stuck are the times to pay close attention. Even though you are certain you have no need to learn the lesson before you rest assured that just down the path you will need everything you have learned there to successfully navigate to your destination. You are on the way to a successful delivery to your highest and best good!

Perhaps the best part of this transformation in knowing that once you have learned these lessons and become balanced and confident in the 'new you' life will have prepared you and made you strong enough to charge the gates of hell with a water pistol... and win!

Wait for It - On the Virtue of Patience

Image result for patience

Building confidence takes patience. -- In that it takes years.

Some people attract confidence naturally. But, unfairly as the world works, not everyone does.

If life's truly got you down, turning it around is one of the bigger projects you'll ever undergo. And even with a fairly normal life, rising above the average and becoming extraordinarily successful will also take years.

Trust me.

This is one of the major reasons that people get stuck in unsatisfying lives: We often end up settling for certain conditions because we think they're inevitable. This can be because we've endured them for a certain period, and/or because we find ourselves coming back to them.

It's all due to a lack of one little term, which means a world of difference between those who succeed and those who don't... :

PATIENCE.

When someone settles for less, there's necessarily a bi-sensation of giving up. And even though this might feel nice, it only does so because it's comfortable. And, more often than not, comfort is what keeps us from getting where we want to be.

How many times have you planned to get up early only to snooze within the first millisecond of the alarm clock?

How many times have you wanted to lose weight only to keep gorging on junk food several times a week?

I could go on, but you get the point.

We settle for things by allowing them to happen. And by not being sufficiently patient we give way for allowing something to happen which we might end up settling for, even though initially we wouldn't necessarily want to.

This is especially true for people of low confidence. When we're not confident, we think unrealistically less of our abilities, therefore often not putting in the necessary work to succeed in whatever our pursuit, thereby getting used to failing.

And, in turn, we end up thinking of not only ourselves, but of everything we do, as a failure. - Which, in a classic example of downward spiralling, affects our patience negatively.

However, if one has enough patience to succeed, guess how that affects our confidence - and our patience? Yes, exactly.

Patience is crucial. Not only to succeed in any endeavours, but to a basic, good life. Think about it: If you want to achieve ANYHING worthwhile, how are you gonna do it if you deem failure in the midst of the process only because you get impatient??

I don't want this for you. I don't want any of you to settle for less than you truly want. Allow yourself to slowly build the patience of a saint, and you will be able to reap whatever tremendous benefits you want.

ACTION ITEM:

For 24 hours, turn off your phone, don't go online, and don't watch any TV or listen to any radio.

Why? Because we've gotten so used to these everyday distractions that our attention span, and, hence, our patience, suffers drastically. The longer you're able to abstain from these kinds of instant gratification-kinda stimuli, the better your patience will be.

How To Increase Confidence In Men

Confidence is the key to dating success. As strange as it might seem to guys, what you do for a living, what your interests are and even how you look are all secondary considerations for women. What women really want is a man who is comfortable in his own skin, a man who's happy, capable and self-assured. Self-confidence is extremely sexy to a woman. So how do you show a woman that you're confident?

Don't show off:

Nothing turns a woman off faster than a man gloating about how much money he makes. Bragging about things you own; cars, houses, clothes, and so on, will make you seem self-conscious.

Clean yourself up:

You don't want to be stressed out about body odor when you're talking to a woman. Try out different body washes, antiperspirants and body sprays until you find the right combination that works for you.
Research has backed up the notion that simply smelling great can make men "look" more attractive to women.

Don't talk too much:

Stop trying to top everyone all the time. Instead, ask a lot of questions. This allows you to remain in control and steer the conversation. Needing to dominate every conversation or present oneself as the authority on every subject is a clear sign of insecurity.

Compliment others:

A lot of guys think projecting confidence means drawing attention to themselves and away from others. complimenting others on their appearance, not only indicates that you're a gentleman, but it also subtly communicates that you are in a position to evaluate others.

Maintain eye contact:

When meeting a new person, your eyes say at least as much as your mouth.

Looking someone in the eye comes naturally when you're feeling comfortable and confident,.

Speak clearly:

Don't talk over people or interrupt them, but whenever you're speaking, speak a little louder than you normally would.

Don't be mean:

The first positive thing people typically say after meeting a new person is, "He seems nice. Nice is the first checkpoint you have to pass on the road to friendship, partnership or romance.

Have a sense of humour:

A great sense of humor is the most instant, obvious, magnetic force that makes a woman sense a man's confidence, and therefore feel the first sparks of attraction for him.

By focusing on these steps, the kind of women you want to meet will start sensing that you just might be "Mr. Right."

10 Signs You Really Are a Leader (and Might Not Know it)

Many times people who influence us the most aren't even aware they are leading us.

We often feel that to be a leader you need to be born a leader, or be drawn to leadership, or have a leader-ly position.
We think of leadership as a title that has to be deserved or earned.
But leaders are rarely, if ever, born. If we had to isolate a factor that creates leaders, it's probably some combination of circumstance and persistence.
Many, many leaders walk among us--in all kinds of people, places and positions.
Some of the greatest leaders you'll ever meet aren't even aware of their own leadership.
Here are 10 signs that you may be one of them:
1. You have an open mind and seek out other people's opinions. If people are drawn to you because you are open to others people's opinions, you are a leader.
2. You offer advice and counsel. If you find yourself advising your colleagues, and your friends are asking you to counsel them--if people seem to seek out and value what you say--then your empathy is strong and your perspective has real-world usefulness to those around you. If you often help those around you navigate their rough patches, you are a leader.
3. People count on you. If people rely on you, it follows that they trust you to follow through and deliver on your promises. If you hold yourself accountable and demonstrate the kind of day-in, day-out responsibility that leads others to trust you, you are a leader.
4. You're a good listener and people confide in you. Being able to listen to others, having people speak to you frankly without worrying about who you'll tell or how you might use that knowledge against them, are signs of strong leadership--not to mention of being a nice person. If you understand that listening is more important than speaking, and if people know they can confide in you, you are a leader.
5. Others follow your example. The most powerful form of leadership isn't persuasion or argument or force, but example. Whether times are good or bad, people notice who's present, who's effective, who's working hard without distraction. When that person is you, others naturally follow you--and you are a leader.
6. You insist on excellence. As Aristotle said, we are what we repeatedly do, and therefore excellence is not an act but a habit. When you are in the habit of standing up for excellence and you hold yourself and those around you responsible for quality, you are telling others that you act rather than talk, show rather than say, deliver rather than promise. If you are not making excuses or blaming others but holding up the standard of excellence and quality, you are a leader.
7. You have a positive attitude. Positive, optimistic people make people around them happy. A positive outlook doesn't blind you to problems or issues but allows you to seek out something good in almost every situation and to know that eventually things will be all right. It's the kind of spirit that keeps people motivated and spreads optimism, and it means you are a leader.
8. You treat people with respect. Knowledge may give you power, being smart may give you an advantage, but when you give respect you will always receive respect in return. If you look for the good in everyone you meet and respect them for who they are, it's likely that they hold you in high esteem and that you are a leader.

10. You are confident and passionate. Most people are always watching each other, looking for cues about how to behave. Being confident means moving with assurance, being passionate about what you believe and refusing to let anything get in your way. If you work consistently toward a cause with vision and confidence, you are a leader.9. You genuinely care about others. If you spend time supporting, guiding and sharing your knowledge with those around you, giving them the opportunity to achieve success, and if you care about their well-being and do all you can to help them attain their own success, you are a leader.
Are you failing to see something important within yourself? Weigh yourself against these traits, reconsider what you think you know, and recognize yourself for the leader you may really be.
