Accomplishing Your Goals

woman praying beside tree

Anything in life is achievable if you set your mind to it. My father used to tell us that there is no such thing as can't. With that mindset we grew up completing whatever task was set in front of us. That should be the first thing in one's mind. A positive attitude and belief in yourself is essential. Life is full of ups and downs and that means many knock backs will happen. A successful person learns from them and gets up and moves on.

Some people don't have goals but go through life taking opportunities where they present themselves. In other words, they get a job and usually stay in the one line of employment for most of their lives. Others, who are less stable, may move from job to job without a clear idea of what they really want from life.

The really ambitious ones take up a profession and study for a degree or even a doctorate. That, however, may not get them the job they require unless they can present themselves to the world with the authority expected of them.

So how do we know what we want to achieve in life. In my case it was always with me as I was born knowing there was a particular job waiting for me. With memory of my reincarnation it is my belief that everyone has lived many times before. They have brought with them knowledge from their previous life that is their mindset and guide.

This is where our link with the Spirit of the Universe comes in. It is our subconscious mind and the little voice within that tells us when we are on the right path. If we stray from it we feel lost, stressed, and deeply unhappy. Once we return to it our mood quickly changes and life is worth living again.

Many have never heard of this 'phenomena' and they believe that they plan their lives and live according to their desires. That is far from the truth because everything in life is par to the plan of God and whatever we do affects many people.

The Spirit uses everything to test us for strength and it knows who the spiritual people are and is guiding them accordingly. So if you hear that little voice speaking to you then use it and your goals will be accomplished. Ignore it and you will find that nothing you do will work out. The choice is yours and that's how God has made you.

Boost Your Confidence In All Areas

Man Standing in Front of Chairs and People

We are all more confident some areas of our lives than others, even the most confident of people have some areas they feel they are lacking. Whilst even the least confident have some areas they feel confident.

Confidence is a feeling of assurance that you can complete the task successfully with ease, in fact you scarcely consider the task at all! It may be a task related to your work or home life, something you practise daily: such as public speaking, teaching, child rearing, cooking or it may be confidence in a sport, that you know you play well.

Whatever areas you feel confident in, you feel good about yourself. Especially when you are faced with these tasks.

Many of us have areas in our lives we would love to feel more confident. So how can we achieve this, when are lives are so busy. Training and guidance from experts together with lots of practice, plus belief in yourself will all boost the feeling of confidence and expertise.

Compare the first time you tried to drive a car to you confidence years later. Consider how new Mums' feel with their first-born, especially if they do not have younger siblings. Confidence can be learned and developed in all areas and will make you a more rounded happier person.

Sometimes teachers and parents influence how confident we feel, by being critical in childhood, but as adults we can take control of our lives and change this.

I am confident in most areas of my life, but would hate to speak in public, and I am a complete technophobe. The very thought of anything technical sends me in a spin. So these and a few others are my areas that need some work! So which are you areas will you be improving this year? A new year is a great time to start something new, what will your challenge be?

So to sum up: lack of confidence is natural, to improve in any area get good training and practise your new skills knowing you are improving in that area. Have belief in your efforts and enjoy compliments.

So will yours be a gym challenge, losing weight, or a new hobby? Or with the money pressures everyone is feeling it could be earning a second income. Whatever it is have a happy healthy and prosperous New Year.

Procrastination and the Brick Wall

Leverage is the answer.

I don't usually have a problem with procrastination, I am generally confident in my abilities and quite practical. If I have done something similar I just assume I can do it.

However there is one area that puts me in a spin, anything new that is technical and I "just know" it will cause me trouble. How silly when 10 year-olds can master computers, and play computer games with ease. Why do I have a road block? Am I wired differently or is it all in my belief system?

Probably my belief system is at fault according to the experts, maybe I should try some NLP, or (NLC according to Anthony Robbins). As I grew up in a more practical age, I think that is why I learnt those things easily and now electronic devices seem somewhat scary to master. However it seems I should gain some leverage and change the way I look at challenges.

This means making a list of all the gains achieved in completing a task, make it very powerful. Then make a list of all I will miss out on if I don't accomplish it. So that the pain of not doing the task is much greater than the imaginary pain I have been feeling when I road-blocked the task. We all move from pain to pleasure it is a case of transferring what brings us the most pleasure.

When I gain a burning desire to achieve something that outweighs the pain I perceive I will stop procrastinating and look forward to completing the task. Perhaps some lessons from a 10 year-old would help too!

I tried the method yesterday and a task I had been avoiding for 6 months with never-ending excuses became much easier, (unfortunately no youngsters were around to help me!) It's a great feeling when you beat the road blocks, try it and see what you can achieve!

Despite my technophobic tendencies I have an online business, and as I dissolve my challenges I love completing my new tasks; the satisfaction gained is amazing. What will your new achievements be?
