8 Tips For Personal Growth

Do you want to enjoy a better life? If so, you have to change by facing opposition. However, this change should not be a hurdle for you. What it should do is sharpen your vision and make you stronger. Given below are 8 tips that can help you with your personal growth.

Face your difficulties

First of all, you need to build your courage to face the difficulties. Remember: it's not easy but it's doable. At times, the only thing that holds us back is our own opposition.

Get selective

You may not want to share your news with everyone. Not everyone will share your fears and hopes. At some point in life, you may feel nourished, annoyed or depleted. You have to accept it and then move on. Things change.

Make life easier for others

You should not take anything personally. Actually, when you make your mind to change, people around you will also change both emotionally and mentally. This may not be fun. At times, it just can't happen. After all, people have their own timetables, agendas and limitations. So, accept these things about others and move on.

Hold your ground

Once you have decided on doing something, stick to your plan. Don't worry about what others say. It's you who should worry about your life, not others. In other words, you may not let your worries consume you. All you have to do is what you have to do. That is it.

Stay positive

You may want to stay positive no matter what. It's a good idea to surround yourself with positive people, positive music, positive words and positive thoughts. On the other hand, don't let negative people shake your decisions.

Talk to like-minded people

For instance, if you are going to launch a business, you should look for people who took similar risks and got success. You should keep in mind that there are a lot of courageous people out there who can share their stories with you.

Leave some relationships

With the passage of time, some relationships disappear or diminish and others grow stronger. Therefore, you should meet new people and make friends with ones who can help you grow. In the beginning, it may be hard for you, but you will be able to do it with the passage of time.

Change will benefit you

You should bear in mind that change will benefit everyone. If you look at your family, you will understand this point. As a matter of fact, even if you look at your own life, you will realize that change has benefitted you as well. So, if you keep this point in mind, you will be able to achieve a lot of success down the road because your personal growth will be at peak.

For personal growth, you need constant courage. Just keep in mind that the effort is worth the results. This will help you deal with your difficulties. It won't be harder for you to face the fierce opposition.

How to Overcome Tragedy by Learning From It

Add caption
If you have gotten yourself into a tragedy, take the lessons you learned and move on. There is no better way to overcome it. This article highlights some tragedies you may have to face in life and yet overcome them all.

Here are a few examples:

1) You lost your job because your company is downsizing its employees. You take the lessons such as, teamwork, getting along with people, your learned expertise and so on. It's tragic for you when you focus on it this way only. But when you broaden your vision, there is more out there to achieve. Life is full of possibilities and opportunities; it's your moment to grab them instead of feeling downright broken.

2) Your spouse has filed for a divorce and has demanded custody of your children. You know you are going to miss them all - the fun, excitement, thrills of all the moments are going to be a part of you always. Take these moments and savor them. Set up meetings to see and talk to your children. Enjoy being with them instead of being sad and grumbling. The sadder you are, life is going to throw more snowballs at you. It's wise to be happy and accept the lessons of life and move on.

3) Suppose you have been on a long drive with one of your close friends. The road is bumpy and your friend is driving and missed a sign. The car collides head on with a truck. Your friend is badly hurt but by a miracle of good fortune you are completely safe. But you can't help feeling sorry and guilty for your friend because it was you who insisted on going for the drive. What lessons can you take from this incident? God spared you definitely. Buy why? Reason out yourself, take the lesson, make new friends and move on.

4) You are in school as a senior student. You are in an enigmatic position. The school knows you for your good performance, speaking and writing skills, tech knowledge and a variety of other good qualities. The school knows you will be a graduate with flying colors. While you prepare happily for your final exams, you hear news that your grandma has passed away. You are not able to concentrate on your studies any longer. You want to be at the funeral and drop the semester. You talk to your parents about it. They unhappily consent to your wishes. You attend the funeral and say a few wise, good words on behalf of your deceased grandma. You come back to your school for the next semester. Your results are not as smart as they are supposed to be. Your teachers are not happy; neither are your parents. How can you turn this scenario into a breakthrough? Reason out yourself, form future plans, figure out yourself who can help you further in your endeavors and move on.

The tragedies I have exemplified so far are bound to happen to anybody anytime on this earth. All we can do is to face them, think out alternatives, take actions on them, overcome them ultimately and move on with grace.

5 Tips For Building Inner Confidence (By Helen Leathers)

"The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation, and go to the grave with the song still in them."

Henry David Thoreau

This quote makes me sad. Mostly because I think it is probably true. The mass of men - and women - go to their grave with the song still in them. I want to inspire people to stand up and sing their song!

Why don't most people sing their song? Why do they lead lives of quiet desperation?

Is It Because They Lack Confidence To Do It?

There are loads of ways you can pretend to have confidence - to fake it 'til you make it! There are workarounds that might give you a bit of a boost - wearing those heels, or a particular outfit perhaps. But what if you could develop complete inner confidence so that you could shine regardless of where you were, what you wore, or who you were with?

How do you develop confidence like that? Well, here are my 5 tips that have worked for me

5 Tips For Developing Awesome Confidence

1. Know Your 'Why'. What is your vision, your mission or your purpose? If you have ever had an absolute mission you will know how focussed and unstoppable you can be. If you have never experienced this, think about the vision that Oprah Winfrey, Richard Branson, Angeline Jolie, even Madonna (I love her, but some people don't) have. They know exactly what they want from life, what their mission is, what song they must sing - And they damn well sing it, don't they? Finding your purpose is massive. Having a vision for how you want your future to look, why you are doing what you are doing, who you would like to help or inspire are all reasons 'Why'. What is yours?

2. Follow Your Intuition. I know, I talk about this a lot, and there are many reasons why that is. When you trust in your intuition, you just know that the right people, places and things will appear, as if by magic. Ladies, when we work with our intuition we stand in our power - we engage with one of our feminine superpowers! And it is amazing. We can feel guided, lucky, safe, on track, and ultimately confident.

3. Breathe! Take a breath before you walk into a room. Breathe deeply before you have to stand up and speak. Breathe from your belly - that means not holding your stomach in by the way - allowing your lungs to fill properly. Breathing is especially important if you have to present, or even just do a 60 second pitch at a business event. If you know how to breathe correctly - allowing your stomach muscles to relax on the in breathe, and then using them to help actively expel the air as you speak and exhale, you will also sound more confident and be able to project your voice further. Your voice will sound more full and rounded rather than wispy or quiet.

4. Energy. You need enough energy to keep yourself full of life and vigour, this is really practical and also a bit more esoteric. This is a vast subject but think about enough sleep, good exercise and fresh air (get those happy hormones flooding your bloodstream), great nutrition, quiet time, and what ever else you need to ensure you are at your optimum. But also understand how to ground your energy to help with confidence in the moment. It can be as simple as planting your feet firmly and evenly distributing your weight rather than standing (wobbling) on one leg - especially if you're in heels ladies! Bend your knees slightly and just imagine roots coming out of the soles of your feet. This sinks your energy in to your lower body and helps you to be present in the room. Excellent just before speaking or, if you feel a little overwhelmed go in to the toilets and do it before going back to the event!

5. Posture. Posture can have two different meanings here. The way you stand physically, and your approach or attitude. When you believe in what you are doing (see point no. 1) and you have the right energy, and trust your intuition, you will have a positive approach and attitude, and people can sense that. In terms of physical posture, stand tall, ground your energy (see above), shoulders back, engage your core (that's your stomach muscles if you're not sure) and lift your head (as though someone is pulling a strand of your hair from the top of your scalp so that you extend your neck, keeping your chin level with the floor). When you stand tall and confident, it is almost impossible to feel un-confident. And if you start to slip into that feeling I can almost guarantee that your posture has slipped. Think of old TV clips of soldiers on parade
Each of these will give you a confidence boost, but used consistently over time, and combined together you will find such inner strength that you will feel confident in almost every situation.

Please don't lead your life in quiet desperation, please discover what song you are supposed to be singing and start to share it with the world. Even if it is just with those closest to you. Don't go to your grave with your song still inside.
