Persistence Is Taking Rest and Taking the Plunge All Over Again

It has been a year hiatus and here I am again, have newfound courage and kindness to myself to endure toward a new journey to a writing, solitary world. Yes, coaxing myself to get busy again and share the wisdom gained from "adulting", and making time believing--- in the goodness of the universe to those who have the courage to persist, despite limitations and all. This, I guess, can make a lot of difference to this mundane existence.

When I stopped writing articles, I had this notion that I have been repeating myself. It seemed that I have reached the peak of my creativity and had to go slow, down to the valley, where crest of inactivity buried the passion to the center of the earth--and, hoping that one day, such would be reborn, like a phoenix from ashes. So, here I am--vibrant and vigor-laden, ready to gamble again, against the discriminating eyes of the editors, and whims of those who are fond of reading articles with sense.

From the different situations I have been in to the new relationships sought and cherished to the lessons learned from relating to the love and hatred formed along the way to the endless attempts to become a better version of myself to the long and winding road to contenment..whew!

Such a journey made me more loving to myself, more understanding of other persons around, kinder to those who needed the most kindness and all.

Still, the incompetence of becoming like "human king,"hinders sanity to become saner, and the humanity to become more humane.

Each one deserves the chance to fully develop into a magnificent creature of the ONE who chose all of us co-existing and learning along the way toward maturity and all.

When one reaches the belief that everyone is valuable, liken to a kitten to its cat and a child to his mother, only then could our existence be meaningful and uplifting. Nobody deserves to experience pain from immaturity of some, cruelty of few, and insanity of one.

All we need is love. Just like my passion to writing, has been invigorated and all when kindred soul coaxed me to take up my parked pen again, and let the words find their own glory, when they have fallen to the right places-- worthy to be heard and taken as wisdom to everyday living, loving and learning journeys.

So, take a rest if you may, but please don't stop pressing on after... with your passion, whatever it is.

How To Ride The Wave Of A Positive Thought

Woman Exercising Bear Body of Water

What were you thinking a moment ago?

Was it positive, uplifting or disempowering?

Notice your feelings generated by the thoughts.

Are they pleasant, neutral or disagreeable?

If you're able to move your attention to your emotions, congratulations, you know how to ride the wave of a positive thought.

What do I mean by that?

If you observe a surfer on a wave, you'll notice it will turn into a large swell at one point. With enough momentum it surges into a larger wave, carrying the surfer to the shoreline.

Thoughts come and go from the landscape of your mind like ocean waves. New thoughts enter your stream of consciousness every one second. This means thoughts don't last, unless you direct your attention towards specific ones.

We live in the feelings of our thoughts, not the outside circumstances that influence them. External conditions do not impose upon your thinking, however it can produce an emotional response if the stimuli is strong enough.

"Truth is: Getting stopped by a thought, negative or positive, lays the groundwork for any disconcerting experience. It's never what we think, but that we think that gets us into hot water," affirms sports psychologist Garret Kramer in, The Path of No Resistance: Why Overcoming is Simpler than You Think.

Some days a thought produces a negative emotion while other days it's insignificant.

Why?

What has changed apart from the day?

We react to our surroundings on those occasions for unknown reasons, i.e. tired, moody, hungry, etc. At that time we're ruled by our thinking more so.

Your mind doesn't differentiate between a positive or negative thought. It doesn't register them in this manner - but you do, as the observer. When we label thoughts, we assign them importance over others, so they occupy space in our minds.

I want to be clear: You are not your thoughts.

You are not your thoughts, because they appear and dissolve from your mind and none are permanent. They may be repeated often, but they are never permanent. To imply you are what you think is misleading, to the degree you might experience a positive thought one moment and a negative one the next. If you are defined by that distinction, who are you according to this narrative?

If we live in the feelings of our thoughts and experience an anxious thought, it doesn't imply you're an anxious person. It means you experienced a thought which produced anxiety in your body. You may have an illuminating thought the next moment which cancels the earlier one. There are exceptions of course, governed by a clinical diagnosis by a trained mental health professional.

So the question arises, who are you then?

Garret Kramer affirms once more, "All you really need to do is leave your thoughts alone. Why? Because when left alone, as we've seen, all thoughts are impotent. You're free to excel no matter when or where a negative, or even a positive, thought invades your brain."

The key to overcome unwelcomed thoughts is not to eject them from your mind, but to be mindful of them. Approximately 50,000 - 70,000 thoughts pass through your mind every day. Thoughts flood into your consciousness on a moment-to-moment basis, like a TV show streamed online.

If thoughts flow into our consciousness, how can we reduce the impact of the negative ones?

By being mindful of disempowering thoughts, you bring them to the forefront of your mind and become conscious, rather than unconscious of them.

Unconscious thoughts are part of the landscape of our minds. Similar to streaming a TV show on a computer, you can be distracted by a pop-up window selling you a product or service. Your intention is to view the show, yet the distraction pulls you away from it. Unconscious thoughts have the same effect. They emerge from nowhere and can lead us to dark places if we're unaware.

"The pain that you create now is always some form of nonacceptance, some form of

unconscious resistance to what is. On the level of thought, the resistance is some form of

judgment. On the emotional level, it is some form of negativity. The intensity of the pain depends on the degree of resistance to the present moment, and this in turn depends on how strongly you are identified with your mind," states author Eckhart Tolle.

The key is to recognise our unconscious thoughts without invoking negative feelings or adding a narrative. We do so by witnessing them through the eyes of equanimity, instead of reacting with negative emotions or actions.

To ride the wave of positive thought, first note the feelings produced in your body. Note your emotional response without becoming invested in them.

Eckhart Tolle states, "Emotion arises at the place where mind and body meet. It is the body's reaction to your mind - or you might say, a reflection of your mind in the body."

Empowering thoughts have an enriching quality, demonstrating they are in harmony and balance. Thoughts that produce an uncomfortable sensation, is your body's way of showing you they are out of alignment.

In this setting, the body is a feedback instrument informing you of your thinking.

You needn't be attentive to every thought. Yet, if you're aware how those thoughts generate positive or negative emotions, it's possible to choose more balanced thoughts.

When an inspiring thought emerges, move into your body and notice your emotional response.

Is it in your chest, stomach or elsewhere?

How does it feel?

Is it a tingling sensation that radiates or does it move to other regions?

Meditation is useful when sitting with your thoughts in a quiet setting. Even as little as five minutes in silence helps you become acquainted with your thoughts, instead of passing through your mind without conscious awareness.

To ride the wave of a positive thought, note the feelings they produce while shifting your awareness to them.

As you witness your thoughts, your awareness observes them thus diminishing their intensity.

In time, you create longer streams of positive thoughts, having become familiar with their ebb and flow.

How to Write Powerful and Positive Affirmations

Writing affirmations is a powerful and uplifting personal experience. Affirmations are simply positive or negative statements that we make, as we go through life and many life challenges.

Our thoughts and feelings are what control our actions. Usually what we believe is how we are deep down inside.

Words are powerful and if you don't use them correctly they have the power to shape you in ways you wouldn't believe. Is this true for all statements? Not exactly, but those that we internalize do.

Writing and internalizing our affirmations become important in shaping or reshaping our habits of thought. When your thoughts change you become someone different.

How many times have you thought back to certain ways you used to act and thought to yourself now I could never be that person now? What if you had the ability to truly be and do anything you put your mind too?

Well you can, but it takes learning and practice.

We have all heard the saying from our parents "You can be anything you want to be can do anything you want to do." They weren't lying, but they didn't tell you how you can do those things.

It all starts with your mind, your thought patterns, and your actions.

How to Write Powerful Affirmations

1) Use the First Person - A majority of the time you should begin using "I" statements. ( I will... , I am... ) These statements do not have to be true statements, but statements of a personal choice or a certain behavior you desire to portray. For example, "I earn (X) amount of dollars by this day." Or "I am so happy and grateful for the positive uplifting things happening in my life."

2) Make them Declarative - Meaning leave out any adjectives or adverbs. Be brief and to the point. The objective is to make bold statements that come across as definite.

3) Use Present Tense - "I am happy." "I am 10 pounds lighter." This is usually difficult for most people because it hasn't happened yet and they have a hard time believing it putting into their mind self-doubt.

4) Commit to Your Statements - Whatever you write down decide at that moment that it is what you are going to do and follow it every single day. Take no days off. If you do you must start over from day one. Even if you don't believe what you are saying be/do it anyways. You are reshaping your mindset helping you to move forward in a powerful way each step you move forward. Read them daily and read them often... 2-3 times a day. Eventually you will begin to believe it.

Begin immediately to take to necessary steps to reshaping your mind and reshaping your world. If there are things in your life you want to change you have to power to do so no matter what the situation.

Initially it's not easy, because your habits need to be redirected into new habits. It all begins with your thinking.

When written properly affirmations can be an effective tool in creating the world you desire. Bringing forth the riches you seek mentally, emotionally, physically, financially, and spiritually.

Do You Eliminate the Positives or the Negatives?

If there's one thing I know well, it's that life is good and always getting better. IF you let it. A business associate once told me, 'This is the worst it will ever be. It only gets better and better!' That is an empowering belief!

The pessimists (and the close-minded) will say 'How awful! You're doing so bad it can't get any worse!' Well, OK. One of my friends actually believes it CAN get worse, no matter what. He is thankful for what he has, which he should be, but mainly because 'it could be worse.'

Why is the first statement good and the second bad?

It's relative. The first statement assumes two things: 1. the past is the past and doesn't equal the future and 2. It will ALWAYS get better than it is now.

The second statement assumes 2 things as well: 1. It is a struggle to get and keep what you have and 2. Things are more likely to get worse than better. If not, why the focus on what could happen?

Your outlook on life determines so much. It is your filter.

Do you know what a filter is?

A filter eliminates undesired particles and things from whatever is poured through it. Its entire purpose is to purify what is poured. A filter lets in what is good and pure through while keeping out the unwanted.

We use filters all the time in life. We filter our coffee. An internet search is a filter. We use content filters to keep explicit images away from our kids' computers. The whole idea is to protect, whether coffee, our kids or just our time and experiences.

We also have mental filters. We view the world through these filters and it applies preconceived notions and ideas to what we see, hear, experience and do. If we believe that getting fired is a bad thing (which it certainly can be for most), that is how we will experience it.

But think about this. Several years ago, I was let go from a job. It was a job I hated because of my boss and the environment there. My doctor was encouraging me to leave the job for health reasons. My wife wanted me to leave for happier shores. Not long after being let go, I saw my doctor and she commented how much happier I seemed, even though I was still unemployed.

Getting let go was the best thing that could have happened to my health. We didn't starve or get kicked out of our home. It was actually a positive.

What is a devastating event for one person can be an uplifting, positive event for someone else? It all depends on their filter.

What kind of filter do you have?

Do you eliminate the positives or the negatives?

5 Ways to Operate From a Place of Service (By Chris Atley)

I enjoyed some time this week with my fellow sisters in business. It's so important to be around people who lift us up and see our own greatness, even when we can't sometimes. The conversation was heartfelt, uplifting and meaningful.

One topic that came up was around service. Our fellow millionaire mascara Mom - that's right she created a million dollar business selling mascara and now empowers over 140 000 women in her down line - shared some key tidbits about being in service. She said something important, and I want you to really hear this.

When you can focus on service your business will completely take off.

When you can focus on service your business will completely take off.

I've been saying this for a long time, and so this is near and dear to my heart, but sometimes we have to hear it over and over, from multiple sources right?! Coming from a place of service in all areas of our lives is what creates abundance and love in all areas of our lives.

Today I share 5 ways that will help you operate from a place of service, including our millionaire mascara guru's top tip, and how to move through what is blocking you from doing this.

1. Ask the universe to guide you. We have an unlimited resource at our fingertips and most of us don't believe in it. Well we do to some extent, but we still try so hard to control the "how" we're going to make things happen ourselves. Ask for guidance and then pay attention to what you're shown. I almost said listen, but for me it's not a voice I hear and I do believe this is different for everyone. For me, it's a knowing. It starts as a quiet thought that becomes repetitive if I don't take action on it. I just "know" deep down inside it's the right action for me to take, and once I decide to do it it's easy and effortless to carry it out. AND when I take action from this place there is always a great, miraculous outcome:-) Imagine that?

Tune in and see what this is for you. When you have known deep down something was true and you took action on it, where did you feel it in your body? Were any sounds important? Were any physical feelings important? Contrast this to a time when you talked yourself into something instead and it wasn't the best decision. Where did you feel it in your body? Were any sounds important? Were any physical feelings important? Knowing when you are in sync with this guidance will help you make decisions from this place and strengthen your connection to it.

2. Standing in this place and making decisions from here, involves a huge element of letting go. Letting go of control the "how", essentially means letting go of fear. The fear of the unknown. The fear of what if it doesn't happen or workout. The fear, the doubt and the worry. It involves an element of trust. Knowing there is something bigger you are connected to that is guiding you. That always has your back. The universe is literally here to guide us not only in our actions and next steps, but through every single thought! It is there to guide our thoughts from a loving place instead of a fear based place. Practice asking for guidance often.

3. Ask questions. When you are spending time with a potential client to serve, ask a ton of questions. It's not about you, it's about them. How you can serve and help them in that moment? You won't know unless you ask questions and focus on them. You might discover that it's not your product or service that will help them or make the most sense at that time. That's okay and you have to be willing to let them go. This is where standing in faith that you are always going to be guided to be shown more people to help is imperative. You are taken care of, if you let yourself be.

4. Honour and love yourself enough to receive. The best way to do this is to make time for self-care. Self-care is really about appreciating yourself enough to do the things you love that bring you peace. What is that for you? Schedule it in every day. It also enables you the space to hear / listen / receive the guidance that is there for you. Take the time to tune in.

5. Be willing to let people go. Whether it's in a sales conversation or with existing clients. Allow people to be where they are and avoid trying to convince, shame or guilt them into to enrolling / or staying. Yes, your service is amazing, and there are also a lot of other services that are amazing. If yours isn't a fit for them, it's okay. When we can't let this stuff go, it usually reverts back to a bigger fear of not hitting our numbers. Again, back to #1 & 2. If we can stand in trust that we will always be shown more people to help AND that our number one goal is to be of service and to help, then it's okay to let them go. You will also find that the more you stand in service, the more your business will grow anyway because you will have let go of fear (the need to get), and have raised your vibration to love and service. When you feel good enough to receive it back, that's when everything takes off exponentially. Just focus on others and you won't need to worry about your business.

My millionaire mascara Mom's favourite is number 1. She will ask for guidance ALL of the time regarding who she can help. It might even be someone in the Starbucks line;-) It might not always be convenient, but we need to listen to it.

I have found that asking how I can be of service in the morning brings about the most amazing an unexpected ways throughout the day! I can also say it's not always about business. What's interesting though, is when you're in service in a non-related business area, things sure do flow "out of the blue" business wise. It's pretty magical, and this to me is living in true abundance, where we're giving and receiving love and connection.

12 Tips For Conquering Anxiety

Anxiety is part of the human condition. Search for somebody that never ever feels anxiety. Some individuals are more resistant to stress and anxiety than others, but everyone can reinforce their capability to manage anxious sensations. Establishing a high level of anxiety is a learned ability. Reducing stress and anxiety is an ability, too.

The crucial factor to managing anxiety is to begin reducing it as soon as possible after it hits you. The more it develops, the more challenging it is to manage.

Deal with anxiety rapidly and easily:

1. Break your day into small pieces. Just worry about the percentage of time in front of you. If you're sitting in a conference at 9:00 AM, there's no need to fret about how you're going to pay the electric bill or exactly what you're going to have for dinner. Take the day a minute at time and keep your interest on that minute.

2. Create a mantra and utilize it. Have a positive and uplifting phrase you repeat to yourself. You'll eventually begin to think it and you'll obstruct any negative self-talk.

" I'm happy with the ability to manage any circumstance."

" My life is filled with joy and positive energy."

3. Workout. The quickest way to relieve anxiety is to work out enough to sweat. A casual walk is better than nothing, but to get the greatest benefit, it's necessary to get your heart beating hard.

4. Utilize distractions. Distractions never ever fix the underlying problem, but can supply relief. See a movie, play cards, or do a crossword. Hang out with a friend. Give yourself a break and put your focus in other places.

5. Keep going. Anxiety occurs since some part of your brain is attempting to stop you from doing something about it. It has learned that it can control you by making you feel miserable. You can reduce the anxiety you feel by plowing ahead. Your brain will learn that making you feel anxious does not work.

6. Give yourself 20 minutes to fret and worry each day. Schedule your worry time. You'll find yourself less inclined to fret throughout the other 23-plus hours of the day.

7. Change your environment. Leave your existing environment and provide yourself a change of scenery. Go to the park or invest some time at the coffee shop. Spend an hour window shopping. Shake things up a bit.

8. Hang out with your pet. If you have a pet, you know how reassuring they can be. Rest on the floor and have a heart-to-heart with your pet. How could you not feel better?

9. Write in a journal. Get your anxiety out of your head and down on paper. There's something cathartic about writing when you're stressed out. Make a habit of writing about your life each day.

10. Discover the best aroma. The right scent can be relaxing. Travel to the candle store and find something that makes you feel excellent when you smell it. Or check out some of the aromatherapy oils at your local health store.

11. Find a hobby that requires concentration. It could be chess, playing the piano, or knitting. It doesn't matter what the pastime is as long as you enjoy it and it requires your complete attention. It can be a fantastic way to invest your down time.

12. Envision. Envision something positive. Fantasize about Maui or keep in mind a favorable experience from the past. Imagine your perfect day.

Dealing with stress and anxiety is necessary. Effective individuals are successful due to their ability to handle stress and anxiety effectively. When you feel fear begin to build, deal with it instantly. A high level of anxiety is very difficult to manage. Develop a list of methods that can be carried out rapidly when stress and anxiety first appear.

10 Creative Ways To Get Yourself Motivated

Men's Blue Dress Shirt
I believe we are all motivated by something or another. It is said we each have a natural tendency to be motivated in one of two ways: either towards something pleasurable for us or away from something that's painful.

I've noticed that if I have someone visiting me I'm motivated to getting the house in order.

If I have a meeting to attend I'm motivated to getting done whatever I need to prepare for that meeting. I may run out of time. The quality may not always be what it should. But I have a good stab at getting things done.

If I'm criticised by someone about something I've not done I feel shamed into action.

On the positive side, if I'm faced with a project that's exciting, challenging and uplifting in just the right measure for me, and I decide I want to do a great job or reach a certain level of attainment, I'm also motivated to take action - and I often produce good results in this instance.

I have to feel I can achieve, and achieve fairly easily. If I feel in any way overwhelmed I'll be demotivated.

So I suppose the question is how can you turn that which is painful for you into something that appears more pleasurable?

1. Can you change the image you have in your head of that thing you don't want to do? For instance if the image is of pushing a boulder up a hill, could you change the image so that it becomes a pebble being kicked along the ground? Does this change the way you feel about what it is you're tackling? If so how?

2. Can you focus on how you'll feel once you've done what you're dreading? If you keep the end in mind all the time and focus on that feeling of satisfaction this can be a big motivator

3. Can you outline to yourself the benefits (pros) of doing what you don't want to do? Could you devise a pros and cons grid, where the pros are positively encouraging you to act, and the cons are spurring you into action to avoid the discomfort of not doing?

4. Can you break down the project or task into smaller activities that you schedule in to complete over time? We don't always have to do everything in one go - and if we attempt to do so, it can at times feel quite overwhelming.

5.Could you imagine the worst-case scenario for yourself if you don't complete your project or task, and allow this to push you into action?

6. Could you in some way hold yourself accountable by sharing your objectives with others whom you trust? Can you do a deal with someone: I'll stop smoking if you stop drinking?

7. Can you think of 3 instances where you felt completely demotivated to do something but did it anyway and felt great afterwards? What did you do to get yourself to move in the direction of your project or task? Can you replicate that for this current activity?

8. Could you give yourself a challenging time limit that'll spur you on? Can you make it a race against time? Setting challenging but realistic time limits can help to increase not only your focus but also your overall speed.

9. Could you reduce the amount of time you spend on the project you don't want to tackle (even if you spend just five minutes in the first instance you will have done something - even if it's just to think about the project for five minutes)?

10. Could you delegate the project/task (or part of it)? This could free you up to do the stuff you're best at. Does it make sense for you to do it? Are you the best person for the job? Be honest! If it's going to take you a week to do something you dislike that someone else could do in a day and enjoy, maybe it's time to delegate.

Are You Brainwashing Yourself?

Have you ever felt like you've lost your sense of power and maybe even all logic? That feeling that nothing is going to go your way?

The downward spiral seemingly starts out with an event.
You've been diagnosed with a health verdict that sounds scary. Your mate or family member seems to be rejecting you or something important to you. Money is needed for some bills and it's not appearing as fast or in big enough amounts to keep your anxiety down.

I remember reacting to all of these situations in the past with a feeling of desperation and hopelessness.

I had talked myself into a state of panic, literally believing all my fears were coming true, and my whole body reacted as if they were. I felt I could do nothing to affect the situation. I had brainwashed myself, playing a tape over and over again in my mind, filled only with fearful thoughts.

Each time I arrived back in my body with a sense of power, I looked at the situation with a new awareness.

Lucky for me, I now recognize when I am about to fall for my fear filled lies. Sometimes it's easy to step off the merry-go-round of overwhelm. Other times I need my coach or a very grounded friend to remind me of the truth. The truth being that most fears are made up in our minds. And that I am a worthy and magnificent woman. That I simply need to get my butt up, dust off the self-pity and fear, and go do something different.

Getting out of your current environment when you are feeling stone-walled is a great start. Go for a walk, go meet a friend who is uplifting, run some errands or go play with your friends. These things all remind you that there is a big marvelous world out there filled with good experiences. When left with your own fear based thoughts, it can feel like you are having a daymare (a nightmare while awake!).

And if you're going to talk yourself into something, make it something grand!

Self-talk I prefer to use when shaking off self-defeating thoughts:

  • I rock! I just had amnesia for a moment.
  • I'm going to take some action because there are lots of great things waiting for me to experience.
  • I get to have whatever I want! This will all work out in the end.
  • All is well. Look at all of the great things I have in my life and all the other fear-fits I have survived.
  • I'm calling so-and-so to remind me of how wonderful I am.
  • I am up to important things in this world and I don't have time to kick myself around.
I'm sure you can come up with your own empowering self-talk. And you might as well go big...

  • I will conquer the world.
  • My TV show will blow Oprah's following away.
  • I am tapped in like Einstein.

Have a little fun. Goofiness never harmed anyone.

Everything will work out in the end. And even when it doesn't, it does. The money will come, sooner or later. You will have a great partnership, if you so choose. You can heal your body and amaze your doctors.

Talk yourself into the good stuff, instead of believing the bad stuff.
