Message From the Universe: When SMILING Gives You Wings! Or Is That Redbull?

"Did you know that the average person looks 793.7% more attractive when they smile?

Not to mention healthier, wiser, slimmer, richer, and cooler.

They do.

And smiles "become things" too,
The Universe"

Not surprised at all with that statement. People are more attracted to people who smile vs people who frown. Unless you are a miserable person, you will be attracted to people who live a miserable life and share their sorrows and ungratefulness to the rest of the world. There are plenty of them with this kind of approach to life and how many more can they bring with them to the abyss of depression. It is really your choice to decide what path you would like to take. Believe me, the opposite direction to depression and sadness and misery is always the better one. Change your perspective, change your life forever and decide today to make a change for the better. Your attitude will change accordingly as you will not let the little things bother you any longer. You will look at life with eagerness and joy. You will not allow the small things bother you, nor the big things either. All great challenges in life are dealt better when being calm, stress free. When something happens out of your control, there shouldn't be any apparent reason why you should panic because this event would have occurred no matter what, because it was meant to be, regardless of how much you tried to avoid it or control the outcome. You need to learn to live with it and construct ways to control your feelings and emotions to properly find logical solutions.

It may be hard to smile when dealing with crap on a daily basis, I agree with you on that one. Just look at it this way. Don't you sometimes come across someone who behaves so immaturely towards you and is so stupid that you can't help yourself from laughing, even if their stupidity costs you time and energy or money? Their stupidity is out of your control, obviously, but you learn to accept it or not deal with that person any longer. So you just deal with the damage done and move forward. So let's consider life events to be stupid and immature and having to deal with them with damage control in mind. Life events are out of your control so the only thing you can actually do is just laugh at the situation and figure out how to alleviate the damages. Not much else you can do but once you have mastered this process, I can assure you that your smile will come back and you will attract more good things in your life that will make you forget the bad ones.

How to Cure a Food Addiction (By Belen Campugan)

Directions to Treat Food Addiction

You may tell yourself, "I'm not subject to nourishment; I essentially love an OK sweet, occasionally." Well, I'm here to tell you that sustenance addiction is genuine; it impacts a greater number of people than you know, and producers truly arrange sustenance things so they are as addicting as could be permitted. Yes, that perfect solidification of salty, sweet, and tasty was made to confirm you keep touching base at for extra. That is the reason I created The Hunger Fix, in light of the way that I have to change the beguilement that is settled against you.

Here are six methodologies to cure food addiction:

1) Take the test. To begin with, you need to see whether your relationship with sustenance is a strong one. Take the my sustenance Addiction Quiz. This is a phenomenal assessment made by Yale University pros to survey your relationship with nourishment. Experts acknowledge that the bigger piece about people who are overweight or huge have some level of nourishment addiction. Regardless, anyone of any age and size can have this issue.

2) Know your staples from your treats. Our brains are altered to hunt out the delightful prize of customary carbs like berries from a thorn or veggies from the earliest starting point. We appreciate strong fats from avocados, olive oil, and fish and lean meats. Our brains drive us to scavenge around to discover these sustenances so we have lively essentialness (from carbs) and continuing fuel (from fat). This normal whole sustenance has overseen us since the start of time. Our brains were changed in accordance with the taste of these prizes. Now and again, we'd like a treat that contained more normal sugar (grapes) or fat (dairy or meat). This mix of staples and treats transform into our normal equality of strong supplements. Burst forward, and now we have makers creating "hyperpalatable" nourishments overflowing with sugar, fat, and salt. Likewise in light of the way that they are ubiquitous, humble, and adequately accessible, less people cook. Grab and go is right away the best approach.

3) Rein in your prize, center. Right when the hyperpalatables fight with standard sustenance, your cerebrum's prize, center, which secretes the delight compound dopamine, gets caught. Insulin levels go up and you have to push an always expanding sum. The greater part of a sudden that bowl of fresh berries can't fight with the über prizes of a Pop-Tart or a chocolate-covered breakfast bar. An intermittent treat, for instance, a birthday dessert, moreover prompts a dopamine surge, yet then your cerebrum settles down to more run of the mill levels of dopamine. In any case when you can get your included hyperpalatable sustenances without stopping for even a minute and you start the day with that sugary/oily/salty cake and grande sugary coffee drink, you wind up with an unending want extra.

4) Recognize the "False Fix." After the relentless presentation and usage of these hyperpalatables, which I insinuate as "False Fixes" in The Hunger Fix, your cerebrum truly changes. The brain can't persevere through this level of hyperstimulation. Appropriately, it reduces the amount of dopamine receptors so you presumably won't feel it as overstimulation. That is the inspiring news. The appalling news is that by doing this, your normal serving of sustenance is no all the more as compensating. You wind up not feeling as fulfilled and satisfied. You know the choosing result. Not satisfied, you wind up with second and third and fourth partitions, pressing on weight along the way.

Nevertheless hold up, there's extra: meanwhile, your prize center is always caught, the mind's CEO, the prefrontal cortex (tap your sanctuary and that is the spot the PFC is put), is becoming hurt and debilitated. The PFC can no more help you control main thrusts or stay focused and vigilant. That is the reason, when some individual is in full-on addictive mode; parity is an easily proven wrong issue. Dynamic and weighty new studies underpinned by the National Institutes of Health financed have showed that the psyche yields of sustenance addicts show the same changes and mischief as those of a cocaine customer. Furthermore, for your information, look at also exhibits that table sugar (sucrose) is more addictive than cocaine.

Great, what's the result? Science-based detox and recovery from the nourishments and refreshments that you know are making you lose control and overeat.

5) Know your enemy. Make a summary most of your False Fix sustenance that you know will lead you to comprehend of control and overeat. As you get prepared to detox, look around you and stock the persons, places, and things that enable your nourishment addiction. This isn't virtually trading up False Fix sustenance for Healthy Fixes. It's in like manner about taking a gander at your entire lifestyle so you can make new, healthier choices to support your recovery. You're not going to change everything overnight, so you'll start with less, however compelling steps to ensure possible, whole deal accomplishment.

6) Remember these words: MIND, MOUTH, and MUSCLE. That will help you form how you'll detox and recover.

Start doing it right now! No more procrastination for a new healthier you.

Why Do Secrets Entice Us?

There are certain words that entice us with the unspoken promise that there is an answer to a question we may not be conscious of having. "Secret" is one of those words.

We are all looking for answers, for meaning...

· to understand: why we're here; what life is about; what will make our lives better;

· to learn what will help us: be better, be happier, be healthier, be richer, just be more, and possibly make a difference.

Consider the cachet of a document marked "Top Secret," "Confidential," or "Classified." Think about how you react when you see a sign on a door that says "Restricted" or "Private." Don't you start to wonder what makes that document or door so very special that no one else can have access to it?

What is it about the idea of a secret?

"Psst! Do you want to know a secret?" When we have a secret or know someone else's secret, it can make us feel special and mysterious.

"I've got a secret and you don't know it!" When we know that others have a secret, we are tantalized. There is something seductive about someone else's secret. We start to imagine what it is and we build up its significance in our own minds until we feel that we can't rest until we find out what it is!

Maybe it hearkens back to our childhood, when there was so much we didn't know and so much we weren't allowed to know. We were told: "Wait until you are older." "This is only for adults." "This is nothing you need to worry about now."

Our natural inclination was to be curious and to try to seek out the answers for ourselves from any source available (no matter how unreliable). If we were precocious or overly sensitive, we did start to worry and experience a sense of exclusion.

Then we grew up and became adults, but we still didn't feel that we knew answers. We were frustrated and angry because it seemed that other people knew the secrets and selfishly wouldn't share them with us.

So, when someone promises to tell us the secret to anything important to us, we are eager to learn it. Finally, we can get the answer that we have lived our entire lives wanting to know.

Or maybe we haven't necessarily needed to know the answer, but we are irresistibly drawn by the promise that a secret, any secret, is going to be revealed.

It's too bad I didn't have this epiphany earlier in my career. I would have started the title of each of my articles with "The Secret of... "

7 Reasons Why Life Is Better Without Booze

I was the consummate party girl for 20 years before I finally realized that alcohol was taking more than it was giving. I quit drinking two and a half years ago at the age of 35 and have never felt happier, more confident, or as in control of my own destiny than I do now that I'm sober.

Here are just a few of the reasons why life is better when it's alcohol-free:

1. Your health gets better. Becoming a non-drinker reduces your chances of developing a plethora of alcohol-related illnesses, from various cancers to liver and heart disease.

2. Your looks improve. Alcohol is responsible for puffiness in the face, sunken eyes, premature aging of the skin, and a dull complexion. Becoming a non-drinker will result in healthier looking skin and brighter eyes.

3. It's easier to maintain the weight you want. One bottle of wine has as many as 700 calories, more than a Big Mac! Plus, when you give up wine, you’re more likely to exercise if your weekends aren’t taken over by hangovers.

4. You have more time to get stuff done. If you regularly crack open a bottle of wine after dinner and have a few glasses during the course of the evening, you'll be down approximately 30 hours every week on time to GET STUFF DONE! That’s time to organize the kids for school the next day, time to blast the housework, or time to read, study or develop a hobby or skill. A boozy lifestyle equals non-productive evenings.

4b. You can even finish a book. I've always tried to write a book, but never finished more than a few chapters, when I'd inevitably hit the wine. Now, as a non-drinker, I've just had my first book published, The Sober Revolution, co-written with Sarah Turner, and am already partway through writing the next.

5. You have more patience. As someone who drank almost every night, and often to excess, I was less than patient as a parent to my eldest daughter. Now the mother of a second little girl, my parenting skills have grown massively and I always know I'm doing my best as a mum.

6. You find out who you really are. Alcohol has such a powerful effect on the body and mind that it’s impossible to find out who you are when you’re regularly getting sloshed. It's only with living alcohol-free that true self-discovery becomes a possibility. By learning to know yourself better, you have a fighting chance of finding out what you want from life, as well as all that you're capable of achieving.

7. You feel good about your life. When you're permanently sober, your choices are always your own; alcohol-free living means never waking up again crippled with regret and shame. And that is priceless.

After breaking free from the alcohol trap, I desperately wanted to help others see how much better life is without the constant negative cycle of drinking to excess, bad hangovers, and mornings filled with regrets. That’s why I set up Soberistas.com, a website which brings together a totally non-judgmental community of like-minded people who've either kicked the booze or who are looking for help in doing so.

Good luck with your journey and keep me posted!

8 Ways To Simplify Your Life (And Make It Healthier, Too!)

Luckily, simplifying your life doesn't have to be complicated. Here, eight smart streamlining solutions that will leave you happier and healthier — proof that sometimes less really is more.
1. Cook a batch of your favorite soup on Sunday to last throughout the week.
In the chill of winter, nothing hits the spot quite like a bowl of hot soup — especially when it means you don't have to worry about cooking for the rest of the week. This one-pot meal makes it easy to fill up on veggies and — thanks to its high water content — leaves you feeling fuller longer, so you're less likely to overindulge later. Stick with broth-based versions for a hassle-free week-night meal that's high in nutrition and low in calories.
2. Choose one designated spot for always-lost items.
Mornings start out pleasant enough — a fresh shower, a hot cup of coffee — but can quickly turn chaotic in a search for missing keys, wallets and more. Pick one place (say, an accent tray or colorful ceramic bowl) to stash frequently forgotten items like keys, sunglasses and pocketbooks. Your entry table will score a pretty new accessory, and you'll bring order back to your mornings. Everybody wins!
3. Quit comparing yourself to others on social media.
Thanks to Instagram and Facebook, you're always informed of who nabbed a new promotion, who bought their dream home, who snagged the biggest engagement ring and which island your jet-setting friend is vacationing to next. Don't let these perfectly filtered photos leave you second-guessing your own accomplishments. (Come on, nobody's life is that perfect.) Next time you're tempted to keep up with the Joneses, refocus your energy on your own dreams.
4. Save full makeup for special occasions.
Wish you had an extra 20 minutes a day? Minimize your makeup routine. Pick two can't-live-without-them cosmetics, such as mascara and tinted lip balm, then save your full-face makeup for special events like date nights and parties. Not only will it save you time and money, but your skin will also appreciate the breather.
5. Donate clothes that you have not worn for over a year.
Give old clothes new life by donating them to a non-profit whose work you admire. Not sure which pieces to part with? Turn all your hangers around backward. When you wear something, hang it back normally. Anything that's still facing backward by the end of the year goes in the give away pile.
6. Streamline your daily vitamin regimen.
Vitamins are a great way to fill gaps in your diet and ensure lifelong wellness. The trouble is, you often need to several different supplements to get the nutrients you need — and that's assuming you remember to take them all at the right time.Smarty Pants' adult fiber vitamin is the first and only vitamin to combine a full multivitamin, omega-3s, fiber and Vitamin D in one nutrient-dense, gluten-free gummy. Their vitamins are made with organic and natural sweeteners — no high fructose corn syrup. Bonus: For every bottle you buy, Smartypants makes a vitamin grant to Vitamin Angels, a nonprofit that delivers vitamins to undernourished children in the US and abroad.
7. Start your day off with an easy-to-make smoothie.
Rushed mornings are no excuse to skip the most important meal of the day. Smoothies are a fast, portable way to get the healthy vitamins and minerals you need to power you through your morning meetings and beyond. For a yummy green smoothie, toss spinach or kale into a blender with pineapple and plain yogurt. Prefer salty over sweet? Mix plain Greek yogurt with almond butter and half a banana for a protein-packed AM shake.
8. Keep all your obligations written in one place.
If you're prone to record notes and appointments on scraps of paper, napkins or even the palm of your hand, find one central location to consolidate your scribbles. Shoving all your lists into one envelope or box will insure you don't lose track of your to-dos. Even better: Compile all your notes into one master document at the end of each day.

7 Daily Habits That Will Make You Healthier

Rituals are essential to maintaining a harmonious daily routine and create the resiliency and positivity to navigate our lives successfully.
Here are seven rituals that you can easily adopt into your daily life and create more balance and better health as a result. They're practical, simple and require barely any additional time or previous skill. There's no reason you shouldn’t make these part of your life.
1. Start your day with a positive affirmation about yourself.
The way you view yourself and your life in the morning sets the stage for the rest of the day. Say something like this to yourself: "My life is beautiful and I have plenty of opportunities to succeed and be happy," "I'm capable, deserving, and ready to create an amazing life for myself and my loved ones," or, "I'm proud of my body and I deserve to treat all of myself with love and kindness." If you have a hard time coming up with positive affirmations first thing in the morning, take some time and write out three to five affirmations that target areas you struggle with. Changing your internal dialogue through positive affirmations is a fundamental part of changing your life and the opportunities that will come to you.
2. Slather your body in lotion SLOWLY.
It’s so important to touch your own body on a regular basis (this is important especially if you tend to dislike your body), so instead of rushing when you get out of shower, take just one or two extra minutes and rub lotion on your entire body with firm pressure, slow movements and loving attention. This is not a time to judge your bumps and curves, it’s about feeling your own skin.
3. Listen to calming music.
I live in NYC, and the crowds can easily get to me, so I listen to calming music on my phone while I walk, ride the subway or work on new projects. If you're driving, try listening to calming music while in traffic. I promise it will work wonders on your road rage. Get me some Mozart, please!
4. Swap coffee for tea.
I used to reach for a cup of joe every chance I got. I admit it, as a European I love the taste of strong coffee, BUT it also kept me wired, affected my sleep, and added to my stress and anxiety which manifested itself in the form of a frequent uncomfortable knot like sensation in my throat. I cut back my coffee consumption to one small cup in the morning and have loved exploring different teas as a replacement. I love the comfort of consuming something warm that also leaves me feeling calm and centered.
5. Chew your food slowly.
Many people have a tendency to inhale their food in a matter of seconds. Chewing your food properly, however is an essential part of the digestive process because saliva contains important digestive enzymes. Chewing also breaks food into smaller particles and makes it easier for your body to absorb nutrients. Taking more time chewing your food can help you avoid uncomfortable sensations like overeating and bloating as well as weight gain.
6. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, and dedicate that time to think of things for which you're grateful.
I turned taking the stairs into one of my daily rituals because it's a simple way to do something positive for my health on a consistent basis, and it's a nice reminder to do my gratitude work. I recommend taking the stairs if you have to get to floor five or below. If you want to up your game even more, walk up the stairs on the balls of your feet instead of planting your whole foot, and you’ll get a nice definition in your calves (what a great extra bonus!).
7. Gently stretch your body throughout the day.
It doesn’t have to be a whole stretching routine every time, but simple stretches throughout the day can go a long way in terms of reducing tight shoulders, a stiff neck, and an achy back. Start with simply lifting your arms up above your head, stretching your wrist, rotating your neck in different directions, getting up from your chair and doing a little forward bend. It doesn’t have to be a tough and sweaty routine. Simple goes a long way. It will increase blood flow throughout your body, loosen your muscles, mobilize your joints, and freshen up your mind.
