The Most Important of All Human Qualities Is a Sense of Hope

Hope For Children | High Resolution | Royalty free stock photo ...

It's interesting to observe that some people fray under the pressure of experience, but eventually learn they're called to mend their life along the way, whereas for others this experience is not liberating. Like Humpty Dumpty, they have a great fall and apparently are unable to learn new things or to unlearn old ones. Consequently, to be a human being is, one wonders, to find the nectar available to us in our own journey. But lots of people pretend that they already know everything they need to know.

It is really incredible that in this day and age human beings remain as foolish as ever they were. Meanwhile, let's remember that the apostle Paul warned us, "be transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Rm. 12:2). He thought about our interior life. I do believe that the most important task in our lives is to make connections, that is, to make relations. Would there be another way to learn?

We live in a materialistic society and are trained from our earliest days to be acquisitive. No doubt, this materialistic outlook has seriously influenced our education. The other day, someone told me with sadness, "the only thing people are interested in today is earning more money." It seems that Mammon is worshipped as never before.

We have the task to live a good life without excuses. Although the moral implication of the attitudes of modern man is daunting, this should not dilute, or block, our search for companions for our journey. It is we who are responsible after all. So, it's foolish to blame others for our failures. The most important of all human qualities is a sense of hope. A sense of hope may take various forms, but the effect is always the same. It's only natural for healthy beings to look forward to something better.

Do you remember the Lilliputians and their neighbors attack each other because they couldn't agree which end to break an egg? Maybe aren't we all living like that? This is one of the chief functions of satire and irony. They enable us to see that many of our actions are comic or absurd. We are always reminded by good mentors that a happy and fulfilling life is not really far removed from ourselves.

The sense of hope must be single out as man's most important quality because it is associated with life itself. There's no future for human beings without hope.

Embark on Art Exploration for Wellness and Personal Growth

Woman Sketching on White Cardboard

Why should women practice art? Artistic expression is considered as a fundamental need of human beings. This article aims at helping you start a fascinating creative journey by implementing 4 easy steps:

STEP 1: Be freed from unconstructive thinking.

The old-fashioned belief that art is something that only children practice or that it is just a waste of time should be dismissed altogether. Art practice can be a very liberating and empowering process for any woman. It is a fantastic opportunity to unravel your hidden potential or simply to unwind after a hectic day. People create artworks to communicate and to make sense of themselves, other people, and the world around them. It is also proven that art has therapeutic effects. It can be a mompreneur's special haven; you can express yourself and let go of any stress and tension associated with the modern way of life. Quite often as a working mother, you may feel overwhelmed by your responsibilities and multiple roles. Yet, by practicing art regularly, you can gradually restore your equilibrium. You can express your feelings and release tension at the same time. You become rejuvenated and return to your everyday life with new energy and an enhanced perspective on your real strengths and capabilities.

STEP 2: Explore your interests.

In order to practice art regularly and benefit from it in the long-run, you should find what interests you. So some introspection is required. Ask yourself: What do you like? Painting, dancing, writing, creating music, or taking pictures? You are more likely to continue an artistic activity you really enjoy. Of course, you can combine all these activities in case you are drawn to all of them. This is also one of the main strategies used by art therapy, which allows the combination of different avenues to creative expression. The more deeply you are immersed in the creative process, the more enthused and enthralled you become by what you can achieve with art.

STEP 3: Experiment and practice with confidence.

It should be stressed that you do not need to possess any special skills to produce art. After all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In classic art therapy, emphasis is laid on the creative process rather than the artistic outcome. This can also be your own guideline when creating art alone, without the supervision of an art therapist. You may not be able to gain specific insights which can only be offered by a professional, but still, the pleasure of free expression is a reward in itself. Do not be afraid to experiment with different materials, approaches, and methods to maintain your keen interest in artistic practice.

STEP 4: Develop your vision and maintain your motivation.

Traditionally the focus of professional and amateur artists alike has been on depicting harmony. Unlike science where priority is usually given to the process of analysis and dissection, one of the main preoccupations of people who embark on a creative process is to collect and unite elements in order to produce a harmonious whole that replicates nature in a way. Keep this in mind whenever you want to practice art to be inspired and stay true to the value of your mission. Make sure you devote enough time for regular practice. If you start practicing art and experience the satisfaction that comes from artistic expression, chances are you will feel motivated to carry on and make creative expression an integral part of your normal routine.

It is indisputable that art helps you live fully. It connects you to your authentic self and helps you find your inner voice. It enables you to articulate a message. It turns you into an agent that communicates. By doing something you really like, you become absorbed in the particular task, and experience unique emotions; you genuinely rejoice in your engagement with creative materials and methods. After some time of habitual practice, you will feel proud of your artistic growth, and this will boost your self-confidence. You will feel happy about following a creative path with surprising discoveries about yourself, the role of art, and your environment. The more you delve into art practice, the more you may realize that the boundaries between art and life are blurred, at least in some cases.

So follow these four steps and, if you wish, you are welcome to share your unique experience with us: Let us know how and to what extent you have benefited from implementing this plan for artistic exploration and personal development.

Be Vigilant and Observant in What and Who You Attract

Woman Facing the Ocean during Day

***Attraction is a funny thing.- Sometimes our energy attracts people, places and events that are not healthy, or have very distorted views of attracting attention or for earning a living. Living in abundance should be done with vigilance, persistence and be careful who and what you attract. Yes, act and attract like who or what you want to attract and hopefully and more often than not, those people and things will come back to you. Life gives us so many miles of unwanted circumstances or trials and reason for caution. Look at the warning signs on the wall, if someone is too eager or anxious and rushes you into making decisions for their own selfish benefit, with no promise of return on your time or investment, don't proceed, though don't be a hermit. Be a hero and continue to pursue and or attract what brings you the most peace and rewards your accomplishments- that's what shows appreciation and respect for what you gave and released- it will come back to you!

Living in abundance is not as difficult as it seems. More than anything it is how you utilize what is already within your own hands or within your own reach. There are so many things by where you can view an opportunity, or a means to earn a living.

Begin to contemplate what drives you to do things, look at and take stock of your current and past actions, versus your past successes and accomplishments. Use examples of daily deeds that require your natural skills, begin using those skills to create work opportunities- you aren't really working because you are naturally, highly skilled, and perform with passion.

Anytime you enjoy doing what you do is not really akin working at all. If pursuing or doing your passion is effortless and earns you a living, then you are not really doing a job so much as sharing your efforts with others. Enjoy utilizing what is already within you. When work is joy, it's no longer work, it's fun!

Whether you have a knack for organizing or a gift for designing, decorating, or you are a winning motivator, share your expression with others. If you enjoy reading and writing you can be blessed to do research. You'll find it liberating, motivating and also quite engaging.

Engage in what feeds, ingratiates and nourishes your mind. That's how you learn to be in alignment with your life purpose. Find your living purpose, while still breathing and productively alive on planet Earth. There are so many examples of how following your calling and performing,or doing the habit you enjoy is no longer classified as a skill, job or profession, it's more of a craft. If what you enjoy sharing or expressing presents you with the opportunity to fulfill your life purpose with ease, then in my assessment, you now have an obligation to teach and share your wisdom with others. Winning your life battles means helping others win their battles too, with the same force, tenacity and drive that you achieved for yourself!

Focused effort, accomplished in clarity and done daily is an amazing work ethic. You can achieve anything and everything that your heart desires by believing that what you do daily is important. Really bringing your heart, head and thoughts in alignment with what brings you peace, release, comfort and internal joy. Pleasing your heart is a smart way to live. Learn to lean more on your heart than on your thoughts and mind.

Knowing how to be in balance with your internal compass is a tremendous achievement. Being heart smart is more than just what you imbibe or digest. Showing importance in what you breathe, in who you engage, and in where you receive counsel is also being heart smart. Be the biggest consultant to yourself, before you allow the advice, input or opinion of anyone else to penetrate your heart. People, other than yourself, need to appreciate you and offer words of kindness, respect and encouragement. If they have self-value, they will readily give and acknowledge the -value of others. There are a lot of deceptive people that prey on the benevolent nature of the people that they meet. They may seek to attain your place in society by theft, exploitation or by their mere high-powered aggrandizement known as insanity. Just because somebody can afford to pay for their forum does not mean that they are legit and operate their business in a lawful and respectful way.

There are more criminals doing radio talks shows or people that claim to work-from-home, though they have extensive international criminal tentacles based hidden fraud and deceit. Not all blogs are for the benefit of the reader. Be careful where you click, download,or on the sites that you use, peruse or solicit for assistance. Some are disguised, or are unknown or appear to be new, though they are the same bad sites or businesses operating again and again in disguise to you. A lot of sites have blogs with content that was ripped-off rehashed or illegally re-routed. They do this to earn a living, a low-life loser that didn't want to legally and properly pay a writer, or that couldn't write anything of value by himself.

Be vigilant and aware that you are setting intentions and attracting energy everyday. Be extremely vigilant in who and what you attract. Question, investigate and report people or events that bring you disdain or who disrespect your work, time, effort, reputation or name.

5 Hard Truths That Are Actually Quite Liberating

We humans believe in self-improvement. God bless us, we do. We believe in better, faster, thinner. We believe in six-pack abs. We believe in firm and tight. We believe in younger. We believe in living life to the fullest. We believe the sky’s the limit. We believe there’s nothing we can’t do if we put our minds to it.
We believe in second and third chances. We believe in as many chances as the world will give us. We believe in picking ourselves up and dusting ourselves off. We believe in getting right back on that horse. We don’t give up. We read books and blog posts (like this one) and attend retreats and seminars that teach us how to succeed, how to live longer, how to find our true selves, how to meditate, how to put down our phones and be more mindful.
God bless us, we try. And we try.
As a writer, I fail way more than I succeed. And as a human, failure is a given. We fail ourselves and those we love in ways large and small. Our bodies, in the end, fail us.
But we keep trying. There’s something admirable about that. And, to be honest, a little heartbreaking. We poor humans are never quite enough for ourselves.
I know whereof I speak. I’m a born striver. I’ve spent most of my life trying to do better. Which means that I’ve spent most of my life not feeling quite good enough. Over the years I’ve amassed an impressive collection of self-help books. Because I’m a fiction writer whose shelves are filled with books by the likes of Virginia Woolf and Alice Munro, I’ve always been a little bashful about letting others know that I own so many self-help books and that I’ve found some of them, well, helpful. I’ve always kept them in boxes in my basement where no one could see them.
A few weeks ago, when my family moved, I had the opportunity to go through these boxes. All those self-help books told the story of a man who has spent years trying to improve himself, a man who is perhaps wiser and more peaceful in some ways, but still struggles with the same challenges and demons that led him to self-help books in the first place.
As I write this, I am sitting in my new house. My bookshelves are filled with hundreds of books, but way up high in a corner one shelf is reserved for the self-help books I decided to keep—a total of 12 (I just counted). I must have thrown away three times as many.
Lately, I’ve been trying hard not to try so hard. Which, of course, is an oxymoron. So perhaps a better way to put it is this: I’ve been trying my best to accept what is. I’ve discovered that when I’m able to accept reality, when what is is enough, an enormous weight lifts from my shoulders and I’m as close to free as I ever feel.
I know, I know, I’m still preaching self-improvement, but I see it as a different kind—a radical and mindful acceptance of reality.
The following five doses of reality may sound negative, but the catch is, they’re not; they’re actually liberating.
1. You may not be as talented as you think you are or would like to be.
Some days it seems that everyone in the world is writing a book or making a film or recording an album or trying to make it as an actor. And that’s fine. The practice of being creative is incredibly meaningful and rewarding. But not everyone has the talent to be successful to the same degree. And that’s okay.
2. You will fail more often than you succeed.
It’s important to set goals and to try our best. But success is not given. The process is really what matters. There is honor and even beauty in failure.
You may try and try and still never achieve the goals you set out to achieve. And that’s okay.
3. You are special, but not in the way you would like to think you are.
So many of us need to feel special. We want to feel important. We want to be admired and loved. It’s part of the reason why so many people want to be famous.
Every human life is singular and important, but no human life is more special than any other. Not even yours. And that’s okay.
4. Most of what happens in life is beyond your control.
You can try to plan your life, but your life has its own plans. We tend to fight against life’s detours even though they often end up being precisely what we need. Anything can happen to you at any time. And that’s okay.
5. Everything changes.
This is something we know on many levels, but perhaps not on the most important level. Nothing is permanent; everything passes; everything lives and dies. Even those you love most. Even you. It can be freeing to accept this difficult but unavoidable truth.
Only by imagining the alternative—a life in which nothing changes and everyone lives forever—are we able to see that change is what makes life precious. And that despite even this truth, it will be okay.
