How The Mind/Body Connection Works To Prevent Stress

Are you stressfully caught up in the world or wisely above it all? Stress indicates a lack of understanding of how your mind works. It indicates an incorrect relationship with whatever you're thinking, feeling, sensing or doing. -- All the faculties of your unique personality. The problem is that everyone else in the world is just as unique as you, and sometimes your uniqueness clashes or conflicts with theirs! What to do?

Well you could simply kill anyone who disagrees with you -- but we've learned from Forensic Files that it's not that simple. Short of murder, there are many ways to resolve conflict but most are short lived because they deal with the stress symptom rather than the cause. Medicine and psychiatry are of little help. If a pill or surgery doesn't fix it -- they are lost. You're going to have to do it yourself -- and it's an inside job.

Here's the knowledge and method: The first and last thing to understand about stress is that it's caused by your taking life personally! You're erroneously experiencing life from a personally-biased perspective instead of a neutral one. Your uniqueness can make you a very interesting personality -- but you are more than just a personality. That's just the "body" part of you.

You also have a "mind" part. The mind part is your aware or "spiritual" part. The part that's aware and in control of what your personality is thinking, feeling, sensing and doing while it's doing them. --Two separate and distinct entities working together as one. And here's the key: To the degree those two entities are kept separate from each other, stress is not possible!

Here's how the relationship works when it's working correctly: Your body self is personal; your aware self is impersonal. Your aware self relates to your personal self as if the personal self were totally separate from the world. Your aware self is as if totally oblivious to the fact that you're in the world at all.

Your aware self treats mental, emotional, sensual and physical activity as if they were totally autonomous. It treats them solely in and of themselves - without any external or further context at all. Thoughts are just thoughts. Feelings are just feelings. Sensations, just sensations. Movement, just movement.

There are no whys or wherefores. No reasoning, evaluation, opinion or commentary at all. No "personal" considerations whatsoever. The awareness knows things simply and exactly as they are! Period. The method and mindset, then, is to simply keep a mirror-like distance from all you see, hear, think, feel and do -- all the time, to the best of your ability. It's amazing!

How The Law of Attraction Can Improve Your Life

In life, there are a lot of different things that can positively affect your life. You may not immediately think of certain things, but it's true. For instance, you're not going to find many people scoff at the notion of eating right and exercising. In fact, this is the premier thing that you can do for your body. It helps with weight loss, management, and can even stabilize mood. It's something that can absolutely pay off in a lot of different ways. The body can be mended and helped with exercise, but what about the mind? People may find that the mind is a difficult thing to really work on, especially when it comes to getting a handle of anxiety, and more. To elevate the mood, you may want to look at why and how the Law of Attraction can help.

The Problem With Negativity

The first thing that you are going to find to be true is that millions of people are negative. Just turn on a television and you will be hit with a lot of news and updates that are absolutely problematic. There's nothing good that can come from manifesting this into your life. Millions of people are dwelling on the wrong things, and they are starting to see themselves get sick as a result. If you don't cast aside the elements that are anything but positive, you will start to slowly weigh yourself down. When you're dwelling on things that are outside of your control, you will no longer have positivity in your life, and that can be problematic. The law focuses on removing these issues and building up your self-esteem, confidence and more.

An Outward Change

One of the premier things that the Law of Attraction does is it makes you a bit more jovial. When you go into work, when you talk to others, and when you are just living your life, you're going to exhibit a great deal of outward happiness. This beautiful update will allow you to become more popular, and people gravitate towards that. You'll be surprised by how much a smile can change the way that people see you. Imagine walking into your work smiling, laughing, and enjoying the day. That's the kind of positivity that is infectious, and it's part of the notion of attraction overall.

The Big Question

The biggest question that you will no doubt ask is simple, does this work for everyone? The short answer is absolutely, yes. However, it doesn't happen overnight. If you're going to make a lifestyle change, you need to work on it slowly so that you can see a great amount of momentum come your way. If you expect changes to occur permanently, over 24 hours, you will not get moving forward. However, if you take your time, and you work through the positive elements that are necessary, you will end up in a whole new world of positivity. Test this out a bit and see why so many are seeking out attraction instead of dwelling on the negative elements that can manifest in life.

Expectation Is a Slippery Slope (By Sue Ellam)

Many schools of thought these days recommend releasing expectation, and thereby freeing ourselves. As most of us know, this is easier said than done. Personally, I think that expectation is the cause of much of the misery in the world today.

Physical expectations

When I was a teenager I remember meeting a young woman who was grieving for the loss of her life. Her life was dancing, and she had trained for many years to be a ballerina - her expectations were high and she had this big career all mapped out in her head. Her ultimate goal! Then the unexpected happened - she had an accident and injured her foot so badly that she would never be able to do pointe work. As far as she was concerned her life was essentially over.

How many people have been on a diet and been 'really good', but then hop on the scales at the end of the week to discover that have only lost 1lb, when they were sure they should have lost 2 or 3? How many have then felt the desperation and inner disgust that somehow they can't achieve what others seem to do effortlessly, and that somehow they are doing something wrong? How much happier they would have been if they had concentrated on health rather than weight and embraced any loss as a step in the right direction!

Then there is the serious matter of expectation of illness, as in 'cancer runs in my family, so I will probably get it' (substitute the word cancer for any illness of choice). The expectation of the illness, metaphorically keeping the door open for it to arrive, like an unwelcome but expected visitor, weakens us - it puts us into victim mode. Almost as though there is nothing we can do and that illness is a foregone conclusion. A better way to look at it would be to acknowledge that our family has a susceptibility to a certain illness, and then examine the diet and lifestyle of the people who have had it - which has often caused it in the beginning. By becoming more vigilant, we can often break the chain which means that our children won't be brought up with that same expectation.

The mind is a powerful thing and, if it isn't used correctly, it can have devastating effects on the body. I remember reading about a woman expressing concern that her brother would die when he was 41. On asking why, she said that all the male members of her family died at that age, going back several generations, so there was a strong expectation and 'family knowledge' that this would happen. Sure enough, her brother who had apparently been in good health, suddenly died before his 42nd birthday - as predicted. When asked about the female members of her family, she responded with confidence - oh, it never happens to us!

Mental expectations

We go to school, college and/or university and are told that if we work hard then we will have a well-paid and fulfilling job. When I left school the expectation was that I would have to work my way up the ranks for many years before reaching the pinnacle - whatever that might be! The expectation was that I would take a particular route (in those days the routes for women were predominantly secretarial, nursing or domestic science!) and plug away at it until I retired. Unless I got married of course and had the expected children. I remember being refused employment once, not because I wasn't qualified for the job, but because I was newly engaged and would 'obviously' be getting pregnant within a year or so and they didn't want to have to employ someone else at that time. This might even happen these days - but employers would be less likely to express the idea in fear of legal action!

It's very different these days and people leaving education will either have the expectation that there are no jobs to be had, so why bother. Or, they will expect to be able to live a laptop lifestyle, travelling the world, or at least be seriously wealthy by the time they are 30. I'm obviously generalising here, but you get the drift. The expectation has changed from belief in a long hard trek to the top of a profession, to almost instant gratification over the space of a few years.

The danger is that expectations become belief systems - which then become very hard to break!

Emotional expectations

Both physical and mental expectations tie very closely into the emotional ones - the emotions are what cement the belief systems and cause the ultimate pain and sorrow when expectations don't materialise.

How many people give love and affection to someone, in the expectation that they will receive equal love and affection back?

How many marriages don't live up to expectation? The 'happy ever after' being replaced by the mundane every day events, which is a natural progression after all. Initial expectations of any relationship can often be too high to be comfortably lived with on a day to day level. If divorce rears its head there is often a deep sense of failure attached to it, rather than recognition that people change from day to day due to their personal experiences, so the person who we married a few years ago won't be the same person we are married to today - and vice versa. The question is, can we grow together and release our expectations - or at least update them?

We have a habit of emotionally attaching ourselves to outcomes of all sorts:

  • Has our child/parent shown by word or deed how much they love and appreciate us?
  • Has our favourite entertainer let us down by not dressing well enough, not writing a better song or being caught in inappropriate behaviour?
  • Has our chosen spiritual/religious leader shown that they have feet of clay, or changed their own beliefs?
  • Has our favourite team won their game?
  • Has the 'wrong person' won that talent contest?
  • Has someone else got the job that we believed had our name written on it?
  • Has someone had the temerity to disagree or disobey us when 'we know' that we are better informed than them?

All this emotional input, which is dependent on other people fitting in to our own expectations, is exhausting. The only person we can control is ourselves, and we would be much happier if we focused on that and let other people do their own thing!
In conclusion

Imagine how much happier we would all be if we didn't attach our happiness to someone else's actions. We ultimately aren't, or shouldn't be, the centre of someone else's universe!

If we can release expectations of other people, and ourselves for that matter, life would become much more free flowing and pleasant. People would be more likely to want to be around us too as they wouldn't feel the pressure of having to 'perform' to please us!

I believe that the only expectations we should have is of ourselves and the Universe (or whatever name you call it by).

  • Our expectation of ourselves is to be the best that we can be, and do the best that we can do in service to others, whilst honouring ourselves and releasing any people or situations that don't honour us to the same extent.
  • Our expectation of the Universe is that it will have our back. It will provide the people and situations in our lives which will best suit us, help us to grow spiritually and ultimately make us happy! That we will be able to trust the process completely and relax in the knowledge that we are being looked after and always will be.

In this way, it will be easier to live in the present moment as we will more readily detach from the expectations of the future. We never really know what is going to happen - it's all just an educated guess really - fueled by lots of emotional wants and needs. Therefore, why spoil the present by continually looking to the future. After all, our future is created in the present moment, so we are only shooting ourselves in the foot!
I wish you all peace and happiness in the present moment, and a future full of the peace and happiness you have created right now!

Awaken The Dying Dream

Start, take one step after the other and don't stop till it's accomplished.

Just like everyone else, on more than one occasion you and I have had this wonderful dream; a dream to travel across the world and visit interesting places, to wine and dine with prince and princess, to be a worldwide-known celebrity and spend your time as you please; a dream to one day write a book, publish it and sell it to millions of people across the globe or perhaps to be that celebrity chef. Your dream might even be to be the richest man in the world. Too bogus? Why not? Ever heard of the popular quote 'if you can think it, you can be it'? Trust me, it's no lie. Everything you want to be all starts from the mind, your deliberate actions towards it, your level of discipline, how much dedication you have and your resilience, amongst other things.

Often times than not though, most people whose dream is to become the richest in the world have the origin of their dream from a rather selfish perspective. When I say most, I mean over 95%. The richest men and women in the world certainly didn't start with a dream of being the richest, they set out to serve. To put themselves and all of what they have to offer out there and reach as many people as possible. History has proven over and over again that it handsomely rewards service to humanity. Above all you'll feel a great sense of fulfilment and happiness. Perhaps your dream is to finish University and be the best in your field or to start up a business and grow it to a multinational company. The reality is that the bulk of us are not living this dream, we are not even close and worst of it all we stopped making efforts.

Thinking about it now we may want to ask, what happened? How did that dream die?

We grew older, the economy got worse, lesser money in circulation to go round, we stopped dreaming and we started accepting whatever the society has to offer us rather than demanding what we want. The society sold us the lie that we can't have what we want instead we should settle for what we can get. I strongly disagree! I don't believe in conformity. I believe we can be whatever we want to be.

What then do we do? Here's my approach;

1. Start dreaming again. You definitely can still be what you want to be. Where life exists, hope does too.
2. Once you lay your hands on that thing which you've dreamt of being, write it down. A written down idea is an idea in traction. Writing is a form of action, thinking and pondering isn't.
3. To inspire you, find someone (or people) who is successful at that which you dream of being. How did he/she start? What does he/she do as a routine? What are his/her habits in relation to this? The way he/she walks, talks, what he/she reads, how he/she dresses etc When you know this, it will be easier to get started. Modelling something already in existence, gives less for mistakes and also could make things get done at a faster pace.
4. Within your means, what are the first steps (or step) you could take towards actualizing your dream? The simplest, easiest step you could take. Write it down.
5. What could be your limiting factor and what resources do you have towards this first step? What skills or resource would you need to acquire?
6. After steps 1 - 5, start! And don't stop. Take a leap of faith. Put one foot forward. Take one step after the other.
7. As you progress, keep learning more about that which you want to be. Read books about it.
8. And finally watch yourself gradually becoming and doing that which you've always had a dream of. More opportunities will surface as you continue on your journey.

I wish you all the best on your journey towards awakening the dying dream.

Daily Decisions: Why You Should Think With Your Heart

Daily every moment you make small and big decisions. Do you put your heart in when you think with your mind? Why do I ask? Read on for answers.

Your heart is the core of your being and bears true feelings. While the mind thinks, its inner critic is at work. So your thoughts and feelings are pulled in different directions and you make an inconsistent choice.

Always think with your heart because your heart will always tell you the truth through the feelings you have about a particular situation or matter. Your thoughts are secondary while your heart is prime.

You make the best decisions when your thoughts and feelings are on the same plane. That way your decisions are solid and can never be wrong.

Practice and practice thinking with your heart. Ask yourself: What does my intuition say? And the heart will answer for you. Whenever you find your thoughts discordant with your feelings, stop. Distract yourself for a few minutes by focusing on something. It can be a home item, office ingredient, a picture or even a view. Then come back to the choice you are about to make. Look what your heart says. Find out what your mind says about the same matter. If they are in harmony now, you are well off to make a good decision.

Therefore, when you make a choice or decision, always figure out if you are thinking with your heart. In most cases you will be not. So attempt again and again until you do it on autopilot meaning it becomes a good habit for you and there is not much effort on your part.

Heart and mind are crucial elements of the body. While feelings belong to the heart, thoughts belong to the mind as I have already mentioned. Thoughts and feelings are not in the same category. While your feelings agree with your gut instinct, your thoughts may have a problem because of your mind's inner critic. In other words, while your feelings will be positive, your thoughts will be negative. That is why I advise you to learn and relearn to harmonize your thoughts and feelings.

As I have already mentioned, if you are able to do it on autopilot, you will never ever make a wrong choice. You have successfully educated yourself into making good decisions no matter how big or small. Isn't that wonderful?

Balancing the Mind and Matter

Image result for yoga poses

There is no species that is more organized than the human race. Yet we have managed to condition ourselves to high levels of stress throughout our lives. We grow up with education based stress, financial stress, social stress and emotional stress. But we rarely pause and ask ourselves: Am I Well?

What Wellbeing is

Wellbeing is often loosely described as a state of physical and emotional harmony. It is important to define a person's state of wellbeing as positive and negative, as it helps them evaluate the quality of their lives. But this general definition has many layers.

Negative wellbeing is with reference to a person who has been influenced by external problems and is physically unwell, emotionally distressed and socially unresponsive. This could either result in an agitated, anxious state of mind, or a dull, unmotivated individual. Positive wellbeing, on the other hand, refers to a physically and mentally fit individual. They may be enthusiastic, involved members of society or calm, relaxed and equally efficient.

What one must note is that a person with a positive wellbeing state faces the same problems as the person with a negative wellbeing state. What is the difference then?

The key to positive wellbeing is to understand that physical and mental fitness are interrelated. You cannot be fit in one case without being fit in the other.

But how does one prevent oneself from succumbing to the stress levels of their surroundings? We rarely make time in our lives to keep fit. We helplessly crouch under the pressure of working for a living, keeping our family safe and emotionally satisfied, and fulfilling our social duties. We cannot get rid of the problems themselves. But what we can do is rearrange our physical and mental conditioning to stress and create a state where we can easily avert the stress!

The Path to Positive Wellbeing

What methods can we adopt to improve our overall wellbeing? Technology can help to some extent, if used correctly. It will help you connect to a large array of counsellors- the Network of Empathy. But Technology and other such artificial tools can only help you acknowledge your problems.

Doctors and Company professionals are also a major help, but they often choose to only treat either your physical ailments or your emotional ailments- you will rarely find an expert who will help you attain overall wellbeing.

There is one school of thought that strives to help you balance both physical and emotional wellbeing- Holistic Healing.

The Holistic Take on Wellbeing

Holistic healing is deeply involved with positive wellbeing. It believes that physical, mental and social harmony is necessary for a healthy life. It also believes that there are many ways to achieve this, and a person is free to choose the method that suits his interests best.

Yoga, for example, is an exceptional branch of holistic thought. It is popularly associated with mere postures and positions- but the very psychology behind yoga is obtained only through years of training and expertise.

Yoga believes that for an individual to be truly well, he must engage in physical and mental exercises to attain balance, stability and perfect clarity of thought. A practitioner of yoga will often display the "calm" type of positive wellbeing. This is naturally the most sustainable form of wellbeing.

Rome Was not Built in a Day

There are many branches of the holistic path for one to explore. In order to pursue positive wellbeing, it is important to persevere in a chosen path with patience, faith, and will. Human spirit is the best healer but it is also vulnerable to negativity.

We all possess the will to acknowledge our internal and external stress and deal with it. Wellbeing first starts with a ray of hope.

What Is Concentration?

Concentration is the ability to focus the attention on one subject, object or thought and at the same time exclude from the mind every other unrelated thought, ideas, feelings and sensations. It also means taking your mind off many things and putting it on one thing at a time. During concentration, the mind focuses on the object of concentration, and only one thought occupies the mind. The whole energy of the mind becomes concentrated on this one thought.

Many people perceive that meditation is concentration or vice versa. But It is not so. In fact, Meditation helps you achieve concentration.

How to attain concentration?

Exercise and Meditation are the keys to improve concentration. There are many techniques that can help.

1. First thing first, decide what you want to concentrate on.

It has often been noticed that you reflect what you perceive. You start impersonating someone's way of talking, walking or the way they eat in a matter of a couple of minutes just by concentrating on the act.

2. Avoid Multi-tasking.

It is always good to be proficient. But there is a difference between proficiency and multi-tasking. Being proficient means giving your best to successfully complete a task. This is attainable through concentrating on one task at a time. The time you consume thereby is significantly less. Whereas when you multitask, you are distributing your attention on more than one activity and therefore you are not able to concentrate on one particular task. It definitely increases the chances of errors and the amount of time consumed is high which in turn reduces your productivity.

So, you should ensure that whatever you do you should put your full heart and mind into it.

3. Key to deep concentration - Stay calm.

Deep concentration is a matter of increasing or directing your life-force or conscious, cosmic energy. The more you have this kind of energy, the better. Scattered energy doesn't help. It must be calm, focused energy. Learn to be calmly concentrated.

Rushing into things, bumping into goaded thoughts often leads to over excitement and exertion. Your thoughts flicker, your concentration breaks. So, it is always worthy to keep your eye right at your goal and stay calm.

4. Parameterize your energy.

One such technique is Paramhansa Yogananda's Energization Exercises. Controlling your energy is an important first step toward the ability to concentrate deeply.

5. Take breaks

Take a stroll, walk on the grass, inhale the freshness of the air, the smell of the flowers, the cool breeze and relax. Make yourself do this often and you'll be able to return to your task recharged and be ready to focus more creatively.

6. Practice Concentration

How can you practice concentration? It can be done by doing some exercises.

Meditation is the most powerful of all concentration enhancement techniques. Learn a few simple meditation techniques and practice them at least five minutes daily.

Sit in a place where you can be all by yourself. Practice focusing on an object. Stare at it continuously and find its intricacies.

7. While meditating, watch your breaths

Loosen yourself. Experience the calmness of your body. Breathe in and breathe out.

Just Observe!

This teaches you to focus your mind on one thing at a time. As you observe your breath, it will slow down, along with your mind (this is scientifically well-documented), and you move into a dynamic, peaceful (but not sleepy) state of being. Your mind will become rejuvenated and creatively receptive.

8. Switch between complex and easy tasks

To not lose the track, it is always desirable to switch between tasks which demand less focus and the ones that demand high focus.

Playing call of duty requires much more attention than watching a movie. When you toggle between such tasks, you contemplate the tasks better.

Conclusion

The power of concentration is immense. It helps to retain even the trivial details. Once you attain the power of deep concentration, it will bear fruitful results for you.

Harkuni Murakami, a Japanese writer, once wrote, "The power of concentration is the most important thing. Living without this would be like opening one's eyes without seeing anything".

You become more aware, more responsive. Your productivity shoots up. Your acumen and sense of adaptation amplifies. It eventually makes you more attractive and confident.

"Attain the power of concentration, attain yourself."

All Change Begins In The Mind

Let's talk about effecting change in the mind faster and with less stress. We've all heard the saying, "It's all in your mind." It's usually delivered in a manner that does not serve us well.

So, what if we just look at this in a more constructive way? What if we could understand that actually everything does begin in the mind?

The best way to demonstrate this is if you just take a moment. Now look around the room you're in. Just look around the room and look at everything in that room. Scan everything that you see in that room, even including yourself. Understand that all these things you see, didn't just appear by accident, they had to begin somewhere, did they not? Where did they begin? They first began in the unconscious mind, long before you were even aware of them. When those things became important enough, they were transferred into the conscious mind, which allowed you to develop your awareness of them.

Again when it became important enough, action was taken, whatever was necessary to allow them to manifest in the physical world. Knowing that, gives us great power to understand that there are things going on inside our unconscious mind that we are not even aware of yet, because everything is created in the unconscious mind first then into the conscious mind and then action causes manifestation.

So, how can we best use this? What if we knew the answers that we need to find solutions to sort out our problems already existed? It could be anything, it matters not. The process is the same. Maybe it's in your business, maybe you want to come up with some better ideas, maybe your health, anything in your life. Just think about what there is that you want to change, because all the answers are in your unconscious mind.

You see, when you go inside the mind, it's like stepping into the TARDIS in Dr Who. It's bigger inside. It's so huge in there. It has no limits.

Everything that you need is in there so you can access ideas and solutions, bring them into conscious thought then take action to allow them to manifest in the physical world. This allows you to know that you are making the right decisions because the solutions delivered by our unconscious mind are always right.
For this reason, always follow your instincts.

So, what's the best way to achieve this? To create less stress, change happens naturally. It just seems to be like a natural flow of things. Following a simple three step process affects change faster, with less stress, knowing that you have the right solution.

STEP 1

We need to first go into our unconscious mind. How do we do this? The most effective means is through hypnotic processes. Self-hypnosis allows us to bypass the filtering system; communicate directly with the unconscious / subconscious mind, and it's almost as if you can walk around inside this massive space. We can just walk around and see what's available to us.

Step 2

Then to transfer this into conscious thought, transition happens through a process of mindfulness. By being mindful of what the solutions are, you link unconscious to conscious thought, bringing about whole brain function.

Step 3

After you transfer the answers you seek into a conscious mind state you take appropriate action. When you take appropriate action, take the steps necessary, changes happens naturally.

Next time you think about what you want to change, don't try to sort it out in a logical, analytical sense. Cut to the chase, always remember, go to the source; to where it first begins.

Follow the three step process. Tap into the unconscious mind through self-hypnosis. Transfer solutions into the conscious mind by way of mindfulness and take action to allow it to manifest into the world. Just start trying this process; three steps and you'll be amazed how natural, how much easier it is, and how fast this works for you.

Enjoy your journey on the inside!

Five Suggestions to Double Your Reading Speed

Many people would like to read more, but don't have the time. Then there are those who have the time, but don't like to read. Reading is a fundamental skill that everyone needs, and the better one is at this skill, the more enhanced life tends to be. Most people learn how to read in school, and after they leave school, their reading skills tend to stay about the same. Some are more ambitious, and look to take their reading skills to a different level. Here are five things that, if practiced, can help you double your reading speed.

1. Don't sound out each word
This is probably the most important thing to do to read faster, and it is the most difficult thing to overcome. When we first learned to read, we were taught to sound out each word. That also helped to spell the word correctly, as well as to pronounce the word properly. It takes much longer to pronounce each word than it does to look at the word, and just understand what it means. If you look at the word, and move right to the next one, the mind will remember what the word was, as it links the current word back to the first one. When you look at 2, 3, or more words at a time, this will get easier, which leads to our next suggestion.

2. Read 2 or 3 words at a time
Looking at each word and sounding it out is a long way to get through a sentence. After you have mastered looking at the word and not sounding it out, then try doing it with two words, then three words. When you are reading multiple words at a time, the brain is able to pick up the meaning more rapidly, and you can go to the next phrase, or group of words. It is quicker to read phrases than just reading each word. With practice, this will become second nature.

3. Have good eye span.
Don't dwell on each word or phrase. Move your eyes at a good pace, but don't move so fast that you do not understand what you are looking at. When you look at the last word in the sentence, move your eyes rapidly to the next line, and look and move along the sentence.

4. Do not regress
One of the biggest obstacles to reading fast is regressing. It is natural to want to have a clear understanding of what is being read. As your reading speed increases, the tendency to regress will be less and less. You have to make a conscious effort to move along and not go back. As you move along, the word you may miss should not interfere with the meaning.

5.Vary the speed
Everything that is read does not have to be read at the same speed. Some things that are more technical will be read slower. The mind will pick up some things very quickly and others not as quickly. Move along at a pace that is comfortable. Move as fast as you can while still understanding what is being read.
With practice, the above steps will help you become a faster reader with better comprehension, and you will enjoy reading more books.
