Internal Motivation VS External Motivation - The "Secret" To Monumental Success

The biggest problem for most people is they are externally motivated.

This means they focus on "things" external to them, such as cars, houses, clothes, technology (computers/phones), games etc. Whilst everyone is guilty of this to a certain degree, the best people are internally motivated.

Internal motivation sounds new-age woo-woo so I'll explain what it is.

Say you have a burning desire to fly. Or maybe you want to go to the moon and see what it's like to walk in zero gravity. Perhaps you're an artist. You could be a musician. Everyone has an underlying idea / ideal which makes their soul burn with passion. This is internal motivation.

In almost every case of monumental success (epoch defining), we find one core ideal lying at the heart of the individual's desire to risk their entire life upon a series of events that lead up to the eventual achievement of their goal. Some of the more pertinent would be Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Hannibal and even Hitler.

To take these examples, we can actually examine them as we would other people...

Alexander wanted to see what lay beyond the "outer ocean". Ancient Greeks believed the world was essentially a donut with a huge "outer ocean" surrounding the land (they obviously had not discovered the Americas or the poles at this point). His conquests were simply his way of trying to get to this ocean and see what lay beyond.

Caesar wanted to be like Alexander. A vain and ambitious man, we already know that he was as shrewd political operator. Born into a demi noble (patrician) family 50+ years before Jesus, many contemporaries described him as arrogant. It wasn't until he was 32, however, that Caesar encountered a statue of Alexander the Great when he was service as Quaestor in Spain. It is reported (by Plutarch) that Caesar broke down and wept - when confronted, he replied "I have not just cause to weep, when I consider that Alexander at my age had conquered so many nations, and I have all this time done nothing that is memorable?". Shortly afterwards, he returned to Rome to pursue greater political aspirations.

Hannibal invaded Italy in an attempt to subdue the fledgling Roman city state. In a time just after Alexander the Great, and around 150/200 years before Julius Caesar, Hannibal's "Second Punic War" was a huge upset in the region. Despite being best known for taking an army - with elephants - over the Alps, Hannibal's military victories far outshine this stunning feat. However, it would not have been possible had it not been for his father - Hamilcar Barca - who forced Hannibal to swear that he would destroy Rome when he was just 6 years old. Obviously, the young Hannibal took his oath to heart.

Adolf Hitler is interesting. Firstly, the raving madman many people seem him to be is a false post-war propaganda play. When you look at the man, you see someone fraught with internal conflict and a longing for acceptance in a world where he felt he was "special". What's vital about Hitler is the way in which his political ascent was triggered by his time on the Western Front. Upon hearing of the armistice in 1918, he was fraught with despair. Whilst this "trigger" was interesting, what actually lay at the root of his experience was an opera called Rienzi. The original manuscript has been lost (Hitler owned it and it was lost after the war)... but from what we know, it's Wagner's story about how a lowly Roman Plebian rose through the ranks of a corrupt government to lift his populace out of servitude.

The point of all this is that at the core of ALL massive success lies an underlying "trigger". This trigger is typically the ignition for something much deeper. This deeper ideal is what you really want but have either been told - or in many cases have identified yourself - as being something you can "never do". In other words, the "trigger" gives you a justification to actually pursue your true intentions.

The first step to becoming majorly successful is to first understand what you REALLY want out of life. As mentioned, if you want to "fly", there are many "ways" through which this can be achieved... becoming a pilot being one.

As most people never spend 2 minutes thinking about this type of thing, they never give themselves permission to consider it at all. This is why they live lives of silent desperation... consuming until they die.

Indeed, our modern world - devoid of heroes like they had in Ancient Greece - is now focused squarely on making as many people as high-powered consumers as possible. Everything will be fine just as long as you're a good tax & debt slave.

If you want to achieve monumental success, you WILL have to do "the work". Of that, there is no doubt.

However, if you want to be one of the "few" who truly make it, you need to consider what you really want. This is not something logical... you can't really "say" what it is. It's just a feeling you have. Again, everyone has one - the question is whether you have the courage to bring it to reality.

Feeling Frustrated - God Has the Right Timing for Everything

Ever wondered why your dream goals are not manifesting? Be patient. God has all the answers. For more insights, read on.

You may have waited for too long with hope in your heart. But you didn't see your dreams materialize. You needn't change your dream goals. You can meet all of them but you need a shift in mind or attitude or you may think about a detour in the direction towards your goals.

Still feeling frustrated? Affirm all your dream goals and let go of them. In reality I have seen the dreams I let go of and forget, get manifested quickly. While the dreams I cling to and get attached hardly get manifested. So, after you have written down your goals and intention and addressed to the Universe, it is very vital that you let go off gracefully and do not think or worry about them at all. Because the longer you attach to them, the longer and harder it becomes for the dream(s) to materialize.

Another important tip I will pour over here is work on one important goal at a time. After it gets realized, take another goal and work on it. And the process goes on smoothly and effectively.

Still another tip I could dispense here is that even if you are detached from your dreams, you may realize, they are taking too long to manifest. This is because God has the right timing for each of your dreams to manifest and keep your faith. Do not let self-doubt creep in at all as it will hamper the manifestation process.

Your emotions also play an important role in the realization of your dreams. Happy and joyous as well as cheery mood always help to give you what you desire fast by the universe because you become the right vibration match for it and it is able to land on you your most desired goal.

On the other hand, bad energies such as anger, sorrow, worry and doubt will cripple the vibration around you and the Universe finds it difficult to reach you your goal. So remember to be happy and full of fun after you have affirmed your dream goals.

Summing up, yes those are all the reasons why your dreams haven't manifested yet. Abide by the tips in this article and you are sure to have all your burning desires land on your being. Gotcha?

Why People Always Treat You According To The Way You Unconsciously Treat Yourself

Find Peace Within Yourself

Your relationship with yourself is the most important one you will ever foster in your life.

I don't mean to underscore other relationships, yet it all starts and ends with you.

Everyone wants to be liked and accepted. It is human nature to fit in and integrate.

If you act unconsciously without being mindful of your intentions, you are carrying out unconscious commands.

If you haven't reconciled these thoughts, they are likely to dictate your life. If you set a software program to run at a particular time of day, it will continue to do so until you override the function.

You are the user of your thoughts.

If you are not receiving the love and respect you deserve, I encourage you to look inwards and heal those thoughts not in alignment with the relationships you want to attract.

Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len is a Hawaiian psychologist who used an ancient Hawaiian method called Ho'oponopono, based on reconciliation and forgiveness to heal an entire ward of criminally insane patients.

He did this without meeting them or being in the same room as them, but by repeating the mantra: "I love you, I'm sorry, please forgive me, thank you."

That is, he healed himself first. The premise is that when he reconciled and forgave parts of himself, the entire ward of patients healed.

Whilst I acknowledge this might sound farfetched, I've read many books, articles and watched countless footage of this practice and seen how powerful it is.

The point I wish to emphasise is, when you find peace within yourself, outside circumstances will reflect that.

Have you met people consumed by their victimhood and believe their relationship problems stem from being treated badly?

One needs only tune in to reality TV and within minutes you'll overhear conversations of people being undermined.

Place A Value On Your Self-Worth

To draw a simple analogy. Consider a sharp stone lodged in your shoe while you walk around consumed by the pain. No matter who you meet, whether or not they are pleasant, your focus is drawn to the pain, not your interactions with them.

By removing the stone, you realise how it was blemishing your interactions with people. The pain affected your relationship with them because it made it difficult to be fully present and engaged.

This is what many people do.

They are unaware of carrying unresolved emotional baggage and use it as a shield to defend themselves. Yet, the shield does little to protect them but discolour their interaction with others.

Author Matt Kahn explains in Whatever Arises, Love That: A Love Revolution That Begins With You that we must develop self-honesty before we can become aware of how we want others to treat us: "Before you can be honest in the presence of another, it is essential to learn how to be honest with yourself. This requires a courageous depth of integrity to become aware of how you want others to treat you, so that you can be that way for others whether or not they're able to do so in return for you."

I often repeat this message in seminars and when coaching clients. I don't take credit for it and believe it was the late Dr. Wayne Dyer who first coined the phrase. I only remind people of its power: "You constantly coach people how to treat you."

It means: if you allow others to treat you unfairly, it signifies on an unconscious level that you feel unworthy.

Whilst you realise it is unacceptable, you feel vindictive because you didn't stand up for yourself. You might blame the other person for treating you wrongly and they may have done so.

However, a person with a strong self-worth recognises the behaviour as unjust and respectfully disallows it.

Being assertive does not involve being mean spirited, it means valuing your self-worth and upholding this as a reminder to others.

The key is to recognise deceitful behaviour and not allow others to treat you dishonestly. This happens when you maintain a healthy relationship with yourself by placing value on your self-worth.

Matt Kahn says treating others with respect because of their inability to treat you well has more to do with the relationship they have with themselves: "In the heart of surrender, treating people far better than they treat you becomes an acceptable way to live, especially because their inability to treat you well has nothing to do with you, but reflects the kind of relationship they have with themselves."

What You Become Is Reflected In Your Destiny

Nowadays, I appreciate the congruence of a person's word and their actions. I assess people by their deeds and will give them the benefit of the doubt on more than one occasion.

However, if they undermine my faith, I'm likely to walk away from the relationship, irrespective of whether I aim to profit from it, financially or otherwise.

I hold no hostile relationships with people because I make it my intention to treat others as I would treat myself. And because I treat myself in high esteem, I foster this behaviour in all my relationships.

You see it comes down to values.

You must be purposeful about what you value in your life. I'm not talking about a career, relationships or life purpose but the values you live by.

"Although all values are considered worthy and important to most people, values vary in how important they are to each person. The more important a value is, the more likely people are to act in ways that allow them to express it and attain the goals underlying it," write authors Sonia Roccas and Lilach Sagiv in Values and Behavior: Taking a Cross Cultural Perspective.

What code of conduct do you abide by?

Is it: loyalty, trust, respect or moral character?

What you uphold is what you become and what you become is reflected in your destiny. You are continually writing the script of your future via your thoughts and actions, irrespective of your awareness.

If you would like others to treat you better, firstly examine any unresolved conflicts within yourself.

"The catalyst of rejection is life's way of reminding you how other people are not always created to treat you better than you treat yourself," affirms Matt Kahn.

Self-enquiry and journaling are powerful methods to help you heal unresolved conflicts, so is working with a trained therapist.

To make peace and transform your unconscious thoughts means to develop a wholesome relationship with yourself. Your interactions and relationships become more relatable instead of hostile.

You are no longer at war with yourself and this is mirrored in your relationships.

Release and renew is a mantra I have emphasised in recent articles.

To change the foundations of your life, let go of the old and tired and create the ideal conditions for the life you wish to merge into.

After all, people treat you according to the way you unconsciously treat yourself.

As leadership expert John C. Maxwell writes in Your Road Map For Success: You Can Get There from Here: "If you want others to treat you more kindly, you must develop better people skills. There is no sure way to make other people in your environment improve."

It is by making the unconscious conscious that you come to develop healthy relationships that originate from your authentic self.

The Philosophy of the Mind, Mindset and Mentality

Woman Holding Two Ropes in Gym

It is important for people, who are serious about reflecting on the issue of the mind and its associated issues of the body. It is defined that the basis of Philosophy of the Mind is the branch of philosophy that studies the nature of the mind (mental events, mental functions, mental properties and consciousness) and its relationship to the physical body. It intersects to some extent with the fields of neurobiology, computer science and psychology. It is also interesting, at this juncture, to evaluate an aspect of theory of mind. It is stated that 'Theory of the Mind', is the social cognitive ability to explain and predict other people's actions in terms of the underlying mental states, such as beliefs, intentions, or feelings.

Baron-Cohen is a Professor of Developmental Psychopathology who proposed the empathizing/systematizing theory of psychological sex differences. He emphasizes that females are more disposed to an empathizing style and males are more disposed to a systematizing style. Consciously and sub-consciously both genders progressively streamline their efforts to draw meaningful results to find out which effect is more pronounced in the daily lives of human beings. Therefore, it is logical to study the relationship of the mind and mind-set with a variance of mentality. Thus, the mentality, eventually, becomes a pivotal point either good or bad subjectively.

All creatures are created on "The Fitrat"; it is an Arabic word and it means original creation without an analogy. It has an ingrained quality that likes truth and good. It rejects all malign and untruth until such that the arrogance and ignorance overpower the mind. The deviation has its impact, yet the 'The Fitrat' constantly remind the human beings its repercussions. However, the human mind which is polluted with arrogance and impertinence finally leads towards disaster.

Analyzing the above scenario, which leads to environmental forces playing a dominant role affecting human behavior. Since God has also bestowed human beings' wisdom and knowledge, hence, human has a choice to select and rejects what his mind dictates. Subsequently, it develops a mentality which suits his desires finally shaping the personality of men and women accordingly.

A question arises about how a mind affects the personality; If so, then in what way? Again, how it shapes the mentality? Human behavior indicates that the structure of brain correlates with their activities. The brain is directly proportional to personality and it is substantiated by Collin De Young and his team at University of Minnesota. They further stated, "Experiences change the brain as it develops, and those changes in the brain can change personality."

Dr. Daniel Siegel coined the term "mindset" to describe the human capacity to perceive the mind of the self and others. A mindset is a relationship between the mind and brain and these factors collectively evolve the mentality. It differs with every individual subject to their upbringing with respective dwellings within the parameters of cultural, social and family values.

It is important to understand why some individuals from poor dwellings, who, after, marriage is living in economically affluent environments remain introvert and perverted. Their past still haunts their behavior which is subconsciously governed by their poor mentality. Thus, their martial, live in affluent families failed to make a dent on a positive note. Hence, the relationship within their post marital environment conspicuously shows unhappy and bickering. In many cases, it drastically affects children and relationships among respective families.

It is said that being a poor person is not bad, but having a poor mentality is a disaster. This typical camouflage scenario will expose the truth lying beneath the façade of superficial mask. Here, those people who are responsible to adjust and maintained the situations in a harmony often failed miserably because of dubious thinking and arrogance. It is appropriate to, quote, "The mind is a beautiful servant; a dangerous master." (The source of this quote is unknown)

Affirmations VS Afformations - Which One Is Better?

I know this sounds weird...

You probably have heard of affirmations right?

Yes, affirmations are the kind of positive statements that you repeat to yourself so you set an intention about the kind of person you want to be.

While it's popularized by "The Not-So Secret" marketing campaign which made millions of people believe that thinking alone can attract all results, it's still used by many successful people daily to reprogram their subconscious mind and change the way they think, feel, believe and thus behave.

In the Annual Review of Psychology 2014, Geoffrey L. Cohen and David K. Sherman published a research report called "The Psychology of Change: Self-Affirmation and Social Psychological Intervention".

Basically, they are saying that the intervention of using "self-affirmation" can bring about a more expansive view of the self and its resources, and thus weaken the implications of a threat for personal integrity. They discovered that "Timely affirmations have been shown to improve education, health and relationship outcomes, with benefits that sometimes persist for months and years by touching off a positive feedback loop."

Personally, I do speak out my positive, present-based, personal affirmation script daily and I do modify them every now and then to keep them inspirational, motivational, and emotionally charged for myself. It does work for me.

But to some people, affirmations are not effective to change them because they have this inner-voice which resists the idea that they can be successful (or whatever they are trying to affirm).

So while your brain can't distinguish what's real and what's vividly imagined, it may still be smart enough to say, "Hey you, look at how poor you are right now, are you really going to believe you're wealthy?". It's hard for these people to successfully intervene themselves.

Luckily, there's another potent method called afformations.

Afformations are just like affirmations, but instead of using a positive statement, you ask yourself a positive question.

Instead of chanting "I am as rich as Donald Trump", ask yourself "Why am I the kind of person who deserve wealth, power and abundance?"

Instead of saying "I am happy all the time", ask yourself "What am I so grateful for right now? What makes me excited tomorrow? Why am I so lucky that I can always find my way?"

Instead of humming "I am so good-looking that I attract all beautiful women", ask yourself "Why am I the kind of masculine, mature, authentic man who naturally attract the right people to my life?"

According to Noah St. John, author of The Secret Code of Success, afformations work better because our minds appreciate questions and are eager to search for answers automatically. It challenges our mind to figure out a possible answer instead of repeating some statements that don't seem convincing.

When you allow your mind gather evidence of a possible answer on its own instead of forcing it into believing certain things, the idea becomes less invasive and your mind is less tempted to fight against it.

So what's the verdict? Should you use affirmations or afformations?

Well, when it comes to self-improvement, I don't really care what's right or wrong. What I care is what works or not! So why not use both and see how they go?

Whenever you have your goals ready, go ahead and create two things:

#1 Your personal, positive, emotionally charged affirmational statements that inspire you.

#2 Your brilliantly crafted set of great questions that trigger the "auto search" function in your mind.

Use both of these powerful methods so you attack the same thing with two routes.

A. L. Kitselman says "The words 'I am... ' are potent words; be careful what you hitch them to. The thing you're claiming has a way of reaching back and claiming you."

Albert Einstein says "If I had an hour to solve a problem and my life depended on the solution, I would spend the first 55 minutes determining the proper question to ask, for once I know the proper question, I could solve the problem in less than five minutes."

Let's utilize both of these wisdom and start conquering your dreams!

This Is The Reason Why Many People Won't Be Successful, Despite Their Best Intentions

Analytics, Computer, Hiring, Database, Design, Network

Having The Right Intentions To Succeed Is Not Enough

Occasionally an article comes along and ruffles your feathers. I've come across them many times and felt obliged to share my feelings.

However, when I regain my composure, I realise such articles force me to make adjustments to my life leading to positive change.

I trust this is one of those articles.

I don't intend to affront you, but to awaken you. Something tells me you were drawn to this article for a reason. Whether subtle or otherwise, let's share the journey together over the next five minutes and see where it leads.

Motivational speaker Brendon Burchard says: "A warrior's destiny is greater than his wounds."

If this article unsettles you, let me be the first to say, go with the resistance. Many people want to push against pain and miss out on the vital lessons that growth provides.

Why am I justified to deliver this advice?

I have studied human behaviour and success principles for over a decade while coaching thousands of corporate clients. In short, I appreciate the mindset required to perform at any level whether you're a CEO, a musician, an artist or weekend sporting enthusiast.

Many people's best intentions to succeed are not enough because good intentions do not align with progress. Many people hold the best intentions to exercise, to lose weight, to be committed to their marriage, yet fall short of achieving the results they deserve.

I'm not stating something new, because we are dealing with complex mental and emotional factors, not least of which are our beliefs and childhood conditioning.

Humans are complex beings. It is not new to you that what a person says and does, is different.

To highlight why many fail to attain success, consider the following account. There's a story of a successful entrepreneur running a weekend seminar with audience members paying $1,000 each to hear him talk about wealth creation. The auditorium is filled with close to twenty thousand people.

As he settles in to the talk, he puts forward the question: "Who wants to learn about wealth creation and investing?"

Naturally, everyone raises their hand. The next bit is interesting. He states, 10% of the people present will follow through on their intentions and become wealthy. Moreover, 90% of the audience will not follow the strategies laid out and should go home now.

He says, 10% of the audience who are dedicated to following the strategies know who they are and should fill the seats at the front left behind by those leaving.

Consider what runs through a person's mind who is told to leave a seminar, despite paying $1,000 to learn about wealth creation strategies?

While you may disagree with him, on some level he's right because the numbers don't lie.

Behavioural expert, John Assaraf tells a similar story. John is an internationally acclaimed author, speaker and entrepreneur who has amassed a fortune through various business ventures.

Money, Euro, Profit, Currency, Dollar Bill, Bill

He states, out of one hundred people who claim wanting to make $1 million dollars a year, three to four of them will succeed.

Here's his breakdown:

1. 20% of the 100 people will cite an excuse why they failed.

2. Of the remaining eighty people, 16% will pull out due to various reasons.

3. Of the 67 remaining, 32 people will give up within 6 months when obstacles appear.

4. Of the 35 remaining, 90% will give up since they did it their way, instead of the way taught.

Therefore, out of those 100 people, three to four will follow through and achieve financial success.

According to John, 3% of the population will: listen, learn, apply and make things happen.

I find it fascinating not because I endorse John Assaraf or his teachings. I could narrate a story about Tony Robbins or Brian Tracy for that matter. The statistics cited are compelling on why success remains elusive to many, even the intelligent amongst us.

Pursue Success With Determined Resolve

So, do you have what it takes to be successful, whether financially, career or otherwise?

How do you know?

Napoleon Hill writes in Think and Grow Rich: "Every person who wins in any undertaking must be willing to burn his ships and cut all sources of retreat. Only by so doing can one be sure of maintaining that state of mind known as a BURNING DESIRE TO WIN, essential to success."

If you read no further than this point, allow me to impress upon you the main reason many people won't succeed despite their best intentions: they lack a burning desire.

Success requires a deep commitment and a compelling desire to succeed. You must want it more than air and water, not because of what it brings to your life but because of whom you become when you are successful.

Jeff Olson explains in The Slight Edge: "Every day, in every moment, you get to exercise choices that will determine whether or not you will become a great person, living a great life. Greatness is not something predetermined, predestined or carved into your fate by forces beyond your control. Greatness is always in the moment of the decision."

What use is success and wealth if your health suffers, your marriage or relationships are in ruins and your character is damaged? I'm certain at the time of writing this Harvey Weinstein and Co can attest to the damage their indiscretions have brought to their lives and others.

"One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat," states Napoleon Hill.

This is the primary reason many won't succeed because they allow their defeats to weaken their commitment to prevail instead of pursuing success with a determined resolve.

Defeat and failure suck.

Ask any entrepreneur or start-up founder. They are soul destroying and can break a person's character. Equally, so is giving up. Nevertheless, if you lack a powerful WHY, failure and setbacks are likely to annoy you until you concede defeat.

Simon Sinek explains in Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action: "Regardless of WHAT we do in our lives, our WHY-our driving purpose, cause or belief-never changes."

Moreover, it was Jim Rohn who said: "We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons."

We mustn't make success nor wealth our primary goal. These are by-products of pursuing excellence and aligning yourself with passion and purpose. If it were, billionaires like Warren Buffett and Bill Gates would hold on to their wealth instead of giving it away.

Sure, I get it, philanthropy is good marketing, but it is also aligned with the pinnacle of achievement where the individual gives back for the good fortune they gained.

Buffett was once quoted saying: "If you're in the luckiest one per cent of humanity, you owe it to the rest of humanity to think about the other 99 per cent." Sadly, not all billionaires share his optimism.

Business, Success, Winning, Chart, Arrow, Growth

Pursue Something Greater Than Your Capacity To Achieve It

Success accompanies you when you are armed with a strong strength of character, a resolute conviction, and a powerful mind. If you set out to pursue success alone to the detriment of other qualities, you may prosper, but it will come at a price. Many fail to heed this advice and lead sorrowful lives because all they have is money.

There is nothing evil about gaining wealth and it is not the root of all evil. Hoarding and worshiping money while neglecting your character is a crime against the soul because the richest person in the cemetery is there for a reason.

That gives us a clue to what little time you have here must be used wisely and thoughtfully. Yes, be successful and explore your talents, gifts and genius as best you can. Be considerate with your accumulation of wealth, with the intentions to influence other people's lives.

Many people won't succeed because their WHY is not strong enough that when failure and defeat show up, they are likely to retreat. The person with a powerful WHY regards failure and setbacks as obstacles to overcome, not impediments to success. They are narrow minded and focussed on their vision because it is imbued with a greater purpose.

"Until a man selects a definite purpose in life he dissipates his energies and spreads his thoughts over so many subjects and in so many different directions that they lead not to power, but to indecision and weakness," states Napoleon Hill in The Law of Success in Sixteen Lessons.

When you pursue a greater cause, you burn into your subconscious mind a commanding reason to never give up. Your WHY becomes your lifeblood; your air and water. Without a WHY tied to your purpose, it becomes a passion or a hobby, not an enduring truth.

With a substantial WHY, you will succeed assuming it is greater than your ability to capitulate to your failures. Setbacks is life playing the bully to find out whether you have the backbone to play big.

Playing big counts, whether you're a blogger, musician, artist, programmer or entrepreneur. The human spirit has a purpose to soar, and this is why many feel stagnant when they sell themselves short.

So, dare to be great.

Dare to be brilliant.

Dare to show the world that failure, setbacks and obstacles are smaller than your WHY.

Show the world you can overcome any impediment beyond measure.

Only then will you succeed, no matter what I or anyone else has to say, because you will have aligned with your best intentions and delivered on your promise to fulfil your greatness.

Going With The Winds Of Change, Positively (By Joshua Clayton )

Have faith and use cosmic habit force, Napoleon Hill once said: Well, I do, and I recommend it for you to if you genuinely want to get through it. But, the problem is, too many people get religion, not faith and cosmic habit force. Then, when the "mess hits the fan" or things go wrong, they do not know how to deal with it really except to come to a full stop instead of use God given rationality to deal with it.

If something goes wrong, keep going and simply correct yourself, even some of the worst airplane flights with all kinds of turbulence can do that. There are certain exceptions to the rule I just mentioned, but, I will put it this way: Disaster is simply a chance to learn. I know that sounds like a slap in the face of sorts, but, if you really want to achieve a goal, a disaster is simply a way not to do it that teaches you the genuine way to do it. That is all, and if it is looked at that way with faith and fully faithfully, you will recover genuinely. Sure, this sounds overly simple, but is it not that simple? After all take a look at how many times the initial novels of Stephen King were rejected starting with "Carrie" about the nightmare High School Prom or one of my personal favorite childhood books: "Gentle Ben" by Walt Morey or this one from the last century, "Callanetics" by Callan Pinckney who died in 2012 after hard won success with her books and exercise videos and last but not least, Nikola Tesla, the real life electrical genius intellectual super man that made Thomas Edison look like an amateur dabbler in comparison with his lasers, early robotics, neon signs, and patents on the alternating current we use today in electricity.

The point to all of the above is that we must go with the winds of change positively and with a definite purpose to our lives for them to mean anything. Sure, so many with "talent" can "make a lot of money", but a genuine and definite purpose is always better and more meaningful than the money. After all, easy money without a genuine and real purpose mostly leads to "pig like" and silly "luxury" that means nothing.

In the George Orwell/Eric Blair novel "Animal Farm" there was a pig named Napoleon, he "led" all of the animals to a "socialist promised land" that was not equal anyway, and killed many of the other "useless animals" including Old Major the horse and left Napoleon at "the top of the heap". Do we see a bunch of Napoleon the Pig types in real life who live "luxuriously" while the Old Major work horse types die or get killed for their "great service"? Life of this sort is going with the winds of change, negatively for all of those types: Both the Napoleons and Old Majors have it bad, really. Get my point?

We all must make ourselves winners through our intentions and our deeds whatever the situation, and if we have a disaster we must move on and go with the positive winds of change and look at things in a better way instead of withering up in fear or to put it another way, the disaster of today could be the greatness of tomorrow.

Before I go: I remember this 1983 movie called "Eddie and the Cruisers". The second album of that fictional 1960s group was a "disaster" and became a hit years later after their "one hit wonder" debut. That is how it works generally.

So, to end by quoting Marshall Field: "I will build and rebuild until it is never torn down again." (Referring to the Field Department Store in Chicago, Illinois where my Mother was born.) I will just end with "be definite and all else will be added".

Life's Recalculations (By Gini Cunningham)

My life is pretty outstanding. I have had a marvelous career in education, I am now retired and free to do volunteer work, I have three lovely children (two with terrific spouses), gorgeous grandchildren with a third on the way, and a kind and devoted husband. Then there is the extended family: sisters and their spouses, nieces, nephews, and all the great-nieces and great-nephews as well. I suppose that if I had worked hard to imagine what my life would be at 63 when I was just 16, this would probably be about my vision. I am contented, busy, and appreciated. With all of this, why do I still possess such nervous energy?

This is when life's recalculations come into play. In a calculated life, events would unroll - bing, bing, bing - in sequential and logical order. The joy of paragraph one would exist and flourish with no distractions or veers. Lacking, though, would be the sense of adventure, the excitement of trying something new, exploring somewhere different. I realize that some folks are happy to spend days in safe, quiet spaces surrounded by all of the nice people I have described. I want this, but I also want more. I like variety, shuffle, and exhilaration. I like things even but also roughed up a bit as well. I guess that is one reason that I frequently respond with enthusiasm of spirit but absence of forethought. Example: I received a wedding invitation from family and assumed it meant all of my family and me and so my RSVP reflected that 9 would attend. When I checked the Facebook guest list I saw that only my husband and I were actually included, not the family, and so I had to backtrack and quickly email to change the number of guests. This required some recalculation and a few apologies and a dash of frustration.

My personal recalculations include exercise, fitness, and challenges. I jog and swim but recognize that that is not enough to revitalize my entire body and so I have tossed in biking and yoga. Having been a well-balanced diner for years, 16 months ago I cut out meat and fish. One reason was I decided it was more fat than I needed but the real, psychological reason was I like eyes. Whether on a shrimp or a cow, those little sparkles grabbed my soul and then zapped away my fleshy appetite. I do not mind if others devour these and I prepare them for spouse and family, however I just can't indulge any longer. Recalculating diet and exercise to retain maximum health and efficiency took some thinking.

Another recalculations, one with which I am struggling, is determining what is of the greatest value in life for my volunteer efforts. I work in schools and with Alzheimer's awareness. I love both and am devoted to each, however, I also do not possess control over either. That's an entailment of volunteerism, to do as told, as mandated, as stated, and not to wander off, or at least too far off, the beaten path. This is tough since I am also pretty independent. When I see a wrong I right it; when I note a fallacy I correct it; when I bump into a roadblock I view it as temporary and probably not meant for me and so I find a way around or through or under or over or just bulldoze on and obliterate it. I can hear you thinking, "My, recalculations are a necessity here! ASAP" I agree, I should quit, and I disagree, if I quit, how will it ever get done?

I guess what I really must recalculate are my intentions. If they are good, honest, and out in the open, they should be all right, right? I'll work harder at reading faces and bodily signs and restructure as needed, redesign as is necessary, and recalculate to attain goals and accomplish my life's dreams. This sounds doable. But I will also zip on ahead - I must. This is one area, my drive-and-determination, (check how neatly I combined that idea!), where recalculation is an impossibility.

Five Possible Reasons That Prevent You From Achieving Your Goals

Probably no one of us started out in life saying, "I hope I'll end messing up everything." Just like everyone else, all of us have the best intentions in all areas of life: relationships, health, careers or business endeavors, as well as recreational pursuits that will contribute to our personal growth.

And yet, to leave everything to chance, or to assume that success in achieving our goals is a matter of luck, is a dangerous presumption. We are deluded if we believe that fate determines the ultimate fulfillment of our goals.

Sit back and take a good look at your life right now. Have you achieved most of your goals, or at least, gradually getting to that point? If you're feeling dissatisfied, consider the following as the possible culprits that hold you back:

(1.) Your goals lack clarity.

Before making a definite plan to go after what you want, first you need to decide what it is that you want. Different people set goals for different reasons. There is most likely an underlying motive that serves as the driving force behind every worthwhile goal.

If you only have a vague or hazy idea regarding what you want, you won't feel compelled enough to take action.

(2.) Your goals are in conflict with one another.

Some people make an effort to work on several goals at once. This is perfectly all right if each separate goal complements, or is in sync, with one another. To illustrate, let's say your goal is to learn a foreign language, like Spanish. You then make up your mind that the best way to learn is to take an intensive course in a foreign language school.

So to be able to afford the tuition fee, you take in odd jobs in addition to your nine-to-five, like waiting on tables at the Spanish restaurant near your place in order to become familiar with the cuisines.

Now, if you're a high school student and you want to qualify for an academic scholarship in college yet you spend most of your time going out with friends because you also consider a social life to be important, this can cause conflict. Make sure that if you want to get on the right track towards a scholarship, strike a balance between doing homework and finding time for friends.

(3.) Your goals are unrealistic.

While it's good to set a goal that will challenge you to stretch beyond your capacities, there are some goals that are impossible to achieve given a certain time frame. A very good example of an unrealistic goal is to aim to lose 20 pounds in just one month.

A more feasible plan of action would be to whittle away a pound or two a week, not by drastically changing your diet, but by making small sacrifices like skipping desserts, cutting back on soda, or getting up 15 minutes earlier every morning to exercise.

Your goals may also be considered unrealistic if you wish to work in a certain type of career, trade, or profession and yet, you have absolutely no talent or aptitude, or even the right credentials, to have a fighting chance to succeed in that career.

For example, a career in sales requires that a person is by nature gregarious and enjoys frequent person-to-person contact. Individuals who are introverted or have to summon up enough courage before making cold calls are not suited to be salespeople.

(4.) You have no idea if you've made progress.

Goals, in order to be effective, need to be measurable. Ask yourself, "Am I moving towards the direction that I desire?" or "Am I achieving what I'm supposed to achieve?"

Devise a system that will allow you to keep track of your progress. Assess yourself regularly to see if you've made improvement.

There are times when the results of the goals that people set aren't tangible. I've heard parents say, "I want to grow closer to my children." Closeness can never be quantified. Usually, to grow closer to their children, parents would need to schedule more quality time with them. While fathers are expected to provide, a mother may decide to give up her career, or juggle her schedule so she can come home early to join her family for dinner a couple of times a week. A father can keep most of his weekends free so he can take his kids camping or biking.

(5.) You're not fully committed.

Goal setting requires hard work, determination, and a willingness to delay gratification. Making constant excuses or relaxing your resolve when the going gets tough won't bring you to the completeness of your goals.

Message From the Universe: The Journey to the Unknown

"The one thing all famous authors, world-class athletes, business tycoons, singers, actors, and celebrated achievers in any field have in common, is that they all began their journeys when they were none of these things.

Yet still, they began their journeys.

You are so poised for greatness,
The Universe"

The Universe had a start with the Big Bang, and it is said that is it constantly expanding, which means that the Universe is constantly progressing, taking up more space, and opening new worlds and galaxies and possible other Universes. We, as humans, should approach life the same way. Always wanting to be better, but to be better, we need to start somewhere. There is also a beginning, and that beginning is based on your thoughts and actions. IF you feel you need to change, then go for that change. You need to create a master plan and be clear with your intentions. Know what you want to do and just go for what you believe in. Never let anyone stops you in your track telling you that your goals and dreams are too big to make them happen. You are in control of your own life.

Greatness is within all of us, but it is important to understand how to expose this greatness and work on developing it throughout our journey in life. You can't stop and say that you have reached the best you can be because this will be far from the truth. If you look at God himself destroying Earth with the flood and realizing that his first few tries were not good enough and God tried again and again until he got it right. If God feels the need to make changes in his own creation, do you feel you shouldn't? Are better than God himself? We all need to change and look for the best side of us and extract what we feel is good and pure. Once you have mastered that part of you, focus on removing the remaining negativity that might linger within your subconscious mind and only accept the positive thoughts. At this point, you will witness great changes and will look forward to a new and exciting life.

Message From the Universe: Be Clear With Your Demands

"Acceptance is kind of like ending a long standing argument you've been having with the Universe (G-r-r-r-r... ), over how powerful you are.

And I say, "ending," to be both suggestive and diplomatic.

You are,
The Universe"

Every human beings possess a tremendous power within them but most do not know how to use that power to get everything they want in life. They feel they do not deserve it because of the lack of self-worth they have towards themselves. Questions often arise: "Who am I? Why would I be the chosen one to have that kind of power? This power is only given to important people, and that's not me. I am just a regular person with no special attributes or characteristics". Well, keep on going with these thoughts and this is exactly what you will get: NOTHING. Like any poker game, it is sometimes CRUCIAL to bluff to make others think you have the winning hand. You need to do the same with the Universe. Let it think you deserve everything you want and IMPOSE your demands. Be vigilant and clear with what you want and what you are looking for. If your mind is cluttered with mixed thoughts (negative and positive), the end result might not always be to your advantage.

Like you do with everything else in your life, when you truly believe in a cause (cancer research, Child abuse foundations, etc..), no matter which one it is, you volunteer your time and passion into that cause. Week-ends, free time, holidays, no matter what else it takes to contribute to the success of the organization. My question to you is: Do you believe in yourself? If you do put that energy into other things, how about putting that same passion and energy into yourself and your success? It has NOTHING to do with selfishness here, its about YOU. No one can take care of you the way you do for yourself. Start prioritizing a little and realize that you will be the ONLY one who will go that extra mile in life to get what they want. Unless you have a significant other that understand your dreams and goals and work with you to make them happen, NO ONE else out there will replicate these same great intentions. Go out there for what you strongly believe in but most importantly, believe in yourself that you can make everything happen the way you anticipated. The Universe will listen and deliver all your wishes.

Goals Vs Intentions, What Gives?

I've been sticking to my extra self-care practice once a day 90% of the time and it feels amazing!! Realizing some days it won't happen, but for the most part it will, has made all of the difference in feeling good instead of not. It can be easy to beat ourselves up if we're not perfect all of the time - and for me - if I can do this most of the time I am legitimately happy and satisfied and that's really all that matters. What will make you feel good about your goals and intentions this year?

So I've heard a lot of judgements lately about the word "goals" and how no one wants to crush anything anymore and how that doesn't feel good. I've peeled back the layers on this and hope this helps you in looking at what feels best for you. In today's article I identify the ego and how it plays a part in this practice.

Goals vs. Intentions

What I've come to realize is what's rubbing people the wrong way about "setting goals" is that it tends to be about pushing. Pushing for more, wanting more, never being satisfied with what you have, and continuing to strive. Bottom line meaning you are not enough. Whatever you have now is not good enough, meaning you're not good enough, as most people measure their self-worth by what they have or don't have and not by whom they are on the inside. Their worthiness comes from the external and is not internal.

This is the ego.

Those thoughts that are telling you don't have enough and need more. That you need to keep striving so that one day you can finally feel good enough after you have "made it". Whatever that means.

Here's the thing though. The ego is never satisfied. So if this the thinking you are identifying with and listening to...

IT WILL NEVER BE ENOUGH!

You will get there only to find you need more, and the cycle starts all over again.

So when people are getting upset with the term goal setting, what I really believe deep down is that most people are setting goals from their ego. And this is why it feels off. We're tired of this. We want a new approach that actually makes us feel good as we are now and not as though we are lacking in some way.

What does that look like...

DECISION.

The decision to follow our hearts and what brings us joy, and xoxo.

Setting A Goal Is Not Enough to Achieve It: Here's What You Need

If you surf the net on any given day, you're always going to find articles about goal setting.

Why?

Because it's important. Goal setting helps you set the stage for what needs to get done regarding your life, career or business goals. However, so many times, mainly when the goal setting is focused on our personal life goals, we fall short.

Not too long ago I read that fewer than 10 percent of the people who begin with a goal for their personal lives at any given point will be still working on it a year later.

Look at your own life.

Has that happened to you?

Have you told yourself that you were going to do something big, then get moving, only to watch the dream and goal fade after a couple of weeks or months?

Why does that happen so often?

How is a Decision Made

Most people in their lives make it a point to decide to do something and set out goals only to not follow through. Many times, countless people say they want to achieve something and then not too soon after, the intentions fade and the frustration sets into their reality. The reason this happens so frequently is that when people are making decisions, the fact is they have not truly decided.

A decision is not made when you first say you want to do something.

A decision is made only when you consistently follow-through to make the dream a reality.

You see, a decision is something that only becomes a reality when you have taken the little steps each day to support the dream.

What Determines a Real Decision

Let's say you have "decided" that you want to go back to school and retrain so that you can move more onto another career. You're tired of your current job prospects, don't see any more room for advancement, or just need something different.

One day, you decide that you want to go back to school. So, in your mind, you made a decision. You may even tell those around you that you've decided to go back to school and retrain.

The reality is that you have not really "decided" anything until you've registered, attended classes, and gotten your certificate of completion. Up until you have the retraining completed, on any given day, you can drop out. Therefore, a decision is not concrete until you have fully committed to it.

Making Goal Setting a Reality

The most successful people who achieve their goals have several things in common. These are the factors you have to keep in mind to ensure your goal setting is also successful.

  • Clarity: Successful goal-setters are clear about their goal. In other words, they have every element of the objective apparent as if it were already a reality. The more detail, the better.
  • Consistent Habits: Those who succeed in their goals understand that it's the daily habits that will get them to the finish line. In our example, it's the going to school each week and not finding excuses when the going gets tough and the temptation is there to quit.
  • Plan: Some people are planners and others prefer to go with the flow. The reality is that with goal-setting, studies have shown that the planners win. Develop a plan for your goal and stick with it.
  • No Out: Many times people talk about Option B, but lots of times that's just an excuse to deviate from the goal. Forget Option B. When a challenge arises (and it will) in your work toward the goal, adjust, but do not stray. Don't create an Option B and as they say, "burn the boats."

Goal setting is essential to get ahead in life or business, but wanting it is not enough. Equally, merely saying you're going to do something is not enough. Goal setting encompasses several factors that will ensure you're not one of the majorities of people who set out on a goal only to have deviated from it or let it fall by the wayside in less than a year's time.

Message From the Universe: May the Force Be With You

"No matter what "they" say and no matter what they do, and no matter what they don't say or don't do, they actually love you.

I know because they told me.

I love you,
The Universe"

When you speak to people about your goals and dreams, even with family and friends, you may encounter some resistance. Some might try to discourage you and consider it as constructive criticism about your intentions. WE all should welcome constructive criticism but you need to take it from people who experienced it themselves. Someone who have never taken any risk in life, have worked their 9-5pm job for the past 25 years aren't in a position to tell you what will work and what won't. So what do you do? Listen or ignore advice from family and friends? Well, it is really up to you. As you know, your family will always LOVE you no matter what you do, as long as you keep things legal and safe for everyone. However, you can't let others dictate your dreams by telling you if your venture will work or fail. Let's say you experience failure, the best thing that would come out of it is a lesson right? So it is CRUCIAL for you to fail in life, and fail not once, but many many times. There is NO better school than life experiences. Take advantage of those lessons and as long as you learn from them, you are gold.

You want to live your life to the fullest so start doing that TODAY. Do not wait for the best timing, or when you finish your studies, or when you have a better job, or a bigger home or this or that. You want to make changes today and whatever obstacles you will face along the way, just deal with it and move on. There is no better time to do things than NOW, right at this moment. Every human beings in this planet are seeking the ONE thing in common, being happy. Some will use money for them to reach that happiness, others will be health, or any other venue to reach that ultimate level of joy. The key here is to apply what you've learned and most importantly avoid making the same mistakes over again. You want to move forward, not backward. Just like the Big Bang, it all started with the concept of singularity, where all matter was so dense within that infinitesimally small point that everything exploded with such a force to create what we see today, OUR UNIVERSE. We also started as a tiny egg in our mom womb to become who we are today. We constantly change for the better, at least I hope, but it really never ends. Just like everything else in life, we all need to grow and become the best we can be. That is why learning is a lifelong journey, because knowledge never really ends, unless you allow it to happen.

Message From the Universe: There Are Some Things You CAN'T Control!

"Remember this one?

A million years from today, umpteen lifetimes away, no matter where time or space may find us, I promise that you and I will be locked arm-in-arm, dancing through reality, daring each other on to ever more adventures, tempting the most alluring illusions, and looking for distant worlds to create and explore. Simply because we can, because it will bring us immeasurable joy, and because there just isn't anything that could ever stop a pair like you and me.

Uncanny, huh, how a million years ago I was able to be so spot on.

Ohh-wee-ohh,
The Universe"

If the Universe visualized this from happening, what stops you to visualize your own future? The thought in itself is important but without your belief that it will happen or it SHOULD happen, you don't have much to fall on. The thought is like a dream, but without putting some action behind that dream, you really have nothing more than just a passing thought. You can also act all you want on that dream, but if you do not believe you deserve wealth and abundance, it might take longer for things to happen. Avoid contradicting thoughts at all cost because it just confuses the Universe to understand what you want. Be clear with your intentions, know exactly what you want out of life and do not deter from these desires. Focus on what you deserve and let the Universe take care of the rest.

Because we are a society who are more inclined to compare success with money, many have tried to take short-cuts and failed miserably in the process. Taking short-cuts means that you show disbelief to the Universe that it is INCAPABLE of bringing your dreams to reality, and if that is the case, it will PROVE to you that it doesn't believe in you either. Patience is a virtue, and the Universe knows exactly when it is your time to shine. Showing this lack of patience presents the beginning of an end to your full potential. Refrain from trying to find easy way out to reaching success, because in the long run, it won't help you at all. When I studied my doctorate degree, I took a while to complete because I wanted to really learn something beneficial and enjoy my journey prior to obtaining my degree. I could have rushed through it like I did for my bachelor degree but I realized that wasn't really a good idea. I read a lot, understood the material, studied some more, spent many nights researching additional material that wasn't part of the curriculum to just understand more the material that was offered in class. The nature of my courses weren't easy at all because it added some quantum theory classes to the mix. Quantum physics and mechanics weren't subject that I would ever thought to study in my life, but my brain was able to understand the complex nature of these sciences and understood the content as well. All this is because I focused my energy in learning more than what was offered in the material offered for the course. Patience was a must and I added the belief that I can make it and reach for my Doctorate degree. I am using that same approach for everything else in my life, including my business and my personal relationship. Life requires patience no matter which way you look at it. We all need at least 9 months to develop in the womb right? We need to start by looking at life as NOT being a race to its destination, but being a fun journey that you can learn from and make yourself a better person.

The Law of Attraction - Why Can't I See It?

In the beginning I just went with it, and did all the affirmations, and intention setting stuff. I wrote my 'wish lists' and 'bucket lists' by the hundreds, and had all my yellow 'post-it' stickers around the house telling me I was 'Beautiful', or 'Rich' or 'Prosperous'. In fact, according to all the stickers, if you put them all together, I was probably the most perfect human being on the planet!

But even with all of this, and all the visualising and meditating, I felt like I'd spent years without really "GETTING IT"!

Oh, I'd find the perfect car park when I wanted it, or a situation would unfold 'just as I'd imagined it'. But I still didn't think I'd totally got it!

I went back, and started reviewing this whole 'Law of Attraction' thing, and realized I'd never really appreciated the most important step. The last one. Step 3.

You have to be clear on what you want (check); You have to 'put it out there' (check) and you have to give it up to God/The Universe/The Divine/The Almighty/ {put your understanding here} and wait for it to happen (UNCHECKED!!).

I was great at doing the first two, but then got impatient waiting for the last one. I'd give up and doubt the process. I'd get impatient and decide it wasn't happening. This is the part I was most active in, and this is what was sabotaging my first two steps!

On a scale of 1 to 10, how much did I do the first two steps? Always and absolute 10!

On a scale of -1 to -10, how much did I do the last step? Always a -10!

Add the two sums together and the answer was a massive big, fat 0! The realization hit me like a sledge-hammer. I was cancelling out any positive 'vibes' working towards manifesting my intentions with the doubts and impatience in my third step! I realised I was constantly looking for 'proof' that the Law of Attraction was working, and in doing so, this sent out the message that I doubted it worked, which is what I consistently got back in return.

So now I do steps one and two, and then spend most of my time sitting back and enjoying step three. I've shifted my mindset to accepting that "when the time is right" I will get what I've intended (or better), in the same way that night follows day, which follows night.

Detaching from the outcome - That's the missing link!

Beliefs Are What Lead to Achievements - LOA - Believe It and It Is Done!

*Rely more on what your vibration and feelings invite for intentional outcomes versus seeking the outside advisement of other people with their own viewpoints and opinions.

* By following the laws of attraction you already know that beliefs and the good/bad/or indifferent vibration that you have in your beliefs are what you bring, like a magnet, into your scope and energy field. So what does that mean for you and me? It means that if we change our belief system by being more in-tune with what we want, we can bring those things that much closer to us. We are IN ALL WAYS actually orchestrating and setting an intention for receiving from the Universe. How cool is that? Pretty darn cool if you ask me! The Universe always gives you MORE of what and where you ask for from it.*** This is done by how you set your focus and intentions towards receiving. Are you a believer that you will receive what you believe that you deserve? If not, why?

*We do receive what we believe that we deserve, if your perspective is out of alignment, then choose refinement to attune to what is more deserving of your wishes and dreams. Do you dream of being a pilot? Allow yourself to feel deserving, then take the action to get the information, take the classes and begin working on your plans, ask the Universe for assistance and it will come to you somehow. Don't worry about all of the details, take one step at a time and walk the steps that it takes to welcome, invite and engage successful strategies and life victories will come to you accordingly!

If you focus on negativity and thrive on learning demeaning or inflammatory information about others, then that is just a waste of time. Time is a valuable commodity. It should be better utilized for manifesting new or higher ways of getting purposeful information into your energy field. Manifesting energy works in concert with what you feel you deserve.

Focusing on things that are not as whimsical can be a lot more purposeful if you set your intention to accomplish a deed or a task with your newfound information.

For example, if you want to learn French, watch the French chefs and cooking programs, go to online classes, the library or invite your French-speaking friends over for dinner. You will quickly see the challenge, though once you get past the unfamiliar hard part, you get into the emotional process of watching yourself open your mind to new ways of speaking. Then you get more relaxed and learn French little by little. It only takes a few steps of getting out of your comfort zone to get the brain retrained to expect joy, engagement. Finally your brain or mindset- produced by habit- stops resisting and you get trained by learning a new skill, language, or by performing a task that has not been experienced before.

It's like riding a bike, learning something out-of-the-ordinary, or new takes time, desire and effort and a follow-though in your attitude- be true to yourself- hold yourself accountable to your dreams and desires. The only person that wants for you to succeed in life is YOU! And really that's the MOST IMPORTANT opinion and adviser that you will ever really need in life- YOUR OWN OPINION ABOUT YOUR OWN LIFE matters the most...

When Building Relationships, Assume This

“Relationships-of all kinds-are like sand held in your hand. Held loosely, with an open hand, the sand remains where it is.
The minute you close your hand and squeeze tightly to hold on, the sand trickles through your fingers. You may hold onto some of it, but most will be spilled.
A relationship is like that. Held loosely, with respect and freedom for the other person, it is likely to remain intact. But hold too tightly, too possessively, and the relationship slips away and is lost.”
— Kaleel Jamison
