Tips For Implementing A Hyper-Productive Time Management

Hyper-productive Time Management

What are the productivity habits behind the most successful people? If you are constantly looking at your watch and wishing you had more time, here are some ways to add more hours to your day.

Successful time management means giving the right proportion of your time to overall planning, it involves honing your business skills and using techniques to ensure increased efficiency throughout your day.

There are many skills you can learn to help increase productivity. The very core of this skill lies in the understanding of many techniques available, and adopting them. Less stress and more efficiency is a path for continuous improvement.

Highly successful entrepreneurs, sales executives, and sales representatives achieve incredible results by staying focused and overcoming distractions. They maximize the amount of energy they have throughout the day by prioritizing their task and working in a non-crisis atmosphere.

Procrastination is the thief of time; and we often avoid mentally challenging tasks which need to be done sooner than later. It takes a strong resolve to control procrastination. Distractions are prevalent throughout the day, from people who require your opinion and time, and also from useless time we often spend, on Facebook or Twitter which results in a constant need to change our schedule that excludes an important task.

Less stress gives more energy, it is important that you develop effective strategies to balance your time management by relaxing and exercise or sharing problems with friends.

There are fascinating insights in which you can cultivate habits in working exponentially faster, crushing your goals and sustaining more energy throughout the day.

Take breaks throughout the day, this is a sure way of improving your focus and productivity. The reason being that our body clock ticks in two forms.

Circadian Rhythms, which run in 24-hour periods, dictating when we are energized or exhausted.

Ultradian Rhythms: which is a recurrent cycle that runs in 90-minute periods, and creates the ebbs and flows of energy throughout the day.

Taking into consideration these two rhythms it is proved always advisable to work in 25 minute intervals followed by a 5 minute break. This reduces fatigue, increases focus, and helps sustain energy throughout your workday.

Another tip used by highly productive people is to optimize their computer skills for speed, by increasing the speed of the mouse, learning keyboard short cuts for the programs that they us frequently, and using tools to quickly find apps that switch between programs. And lastly by increasing your typing speed to over 80 words per minute by typing through speech recognition.

For long-term goals the best way to start is by defining your purpose, your personal mission statement breaks down to smaller goals or a to-dot list which in turn is your initial purpose.

Focusing only on things you specialize in and outsourcing mindless tasks, like inputting data, cleaning, ordering groceries, can be insanely productive, as these chores that are outsourced can be done for much less than the cost of your personal time spent doing it, by releasing you to have more working hours and more income.

Reframing For Success

Success comes easily by reframing. What do we mean by that? Just imagine you're looking at a picture of yourself in an area of your life that you would like to be different. Maybe you'd like to increase productivity. Maybe you want to lose weight. Maybe you want to get rid of some of those aches and pains that stress is causing in your life.

What you think those problems are, they're not actually the problem, it's the frame that they're being held in. If you were to change the frame you're going to get a different picture aren't you? Imagine if you took a picture off your wall and you were to put a different frame around that picture. Maybe some of the colours would look different. You get a different perspective on things. Maybe you'd even see things that you haven't seen before, even though it's the same picture.

By doing the same thing with that area of your life that you would like to change, just take one thing, you can achieve success. Imagine if you were to put a different frame around it and you were to paint that picture, you would become the artist. So now the question is how do we do this?

What I want you to do just sit back, close your eyes and relax. Imagine you're starting to paint that picture of how you would like your life to be. How you would create success in that area of your life. You just focus and you see the picture starting to take form. It's almost as if you're the artist now and you're painting this picture. You see what it looks like, hear what it sounds like, feel what it feels like. Sit and keep focusing on this picture as it becomes more and more clear as to how you're painting this picture. As it becomes clearer you just keep focusing on this picture.

When you feel that picture is complete you can just bring yourself back. Notice what you need to do to achieve this. What actions you need to take. What people in your life you need that would help this to be possible for you. Do this every day until you know that it's become embedded in your life. As you do this each day this picture becomes more and more clear and the actions you take will determine your success.

This is how you will achieve the success that you want in that area of your life, and you focus only on this one thing until it's embedded in your life. You now put it in this new frame. Keep focusing on this frame. and this frame will continue to give the success that you want. You'll notice the changes determined by your actions.

The Seven Steps To Reframing For Success.

1. Sit back, close your eyes and relax.
2. Start to paint the picture in your mind of how you want your success to be.
3. Let your unconscious mind bring to you what's necessary to change.
4. Don't question anything, just go with it.
5. Notice what actions you need to take.
6. Sit in this place until you feel the picture is complete.
7. Rinse and repeat every day until it's embedded in your life.

When would now be a good time for you to start re-framing your life for success?

4 Tips to Turn Off the Distractions

Find out what sidetracks you and prepare to address it head on

Think the grass is greener on the other side of your attention? Think again. The more you tolerate distractions, the more difficult it is to deliver timely and quality output in business.
But maybe you think of your distractions as multitasking. That’s really a myth, according to a recent article published by The New Yorker
More than 20 years of research by Dr. David E. Meyer, professor of psychology at the University of Michigan and one of the world’s leading experts on multitasking, reveals that “when you think you’re doing two things at once, you’re almost always switching rapidly between them, leaking a little mental efficiency with every switch.” Bet you thought you were really doing more with less, right? Wrong.
Cope with distractions and increase productivity with these four tips:
1. Raise your standards and take control. The same kind of thinking that tethered you to distractions won’t help you to avoid them. This means you must change the way you think about time, value and results. Make them first priorities, not afterthoughts.
Remember that no distraction is worth compromising your integrity, professional reputation or the bottom line. In the end, only your results matter. Excuses won’t.
2. Anticipate the kinds of distractions likely to sidetrack you. Make a list. For example, if you know that constantly checking email will usurp two hours of your day—write that down first—it's a key distraction to avoid. Pick one 15-minute block later in the day to scan your inbox and stick to it. Don’t respond to your email until after crunch time is over, when time is on your side.
Can’t resist incessantly checking your Facebook feed for updates? Don’t fall for the head fake: It won’t give you a second wind. It’ll only increase your commitment to being distracted. Use Facebook to completely decompress after you’ve completed your tasks. Don’t log in until you can unplug.
If you know that Chatty Cathy comes in every Monday morning to regale you with her weekend shenanigans, be prepared to put your foot down. Advise that while you’d love to hear about her incredible weekend, you have some important things to accomplish first. Be polite, but firm.
3. Plan, commit and execute. If you want to successfully avoid distractions, you can’t tackle them haphazardly. You’ll need a solid plan of attack.
Prepare your plan in advance—in writing. It should include a list of key distractions, strategies for avoiding them and a plan for confronting ones that can't be avoided. Be thoughtful in your approach. Brainstorm tough scenarios. Role-play to increase your comfort level. Review your plan first thing in the morning. Focus on outcomes and strategies before you do anything else.
Think you’re all done? Not so fast. Drafting a great plan is not enough to inspire productivity. You need to take action. Commit to playing full-out and successfully accomplishing the goal, no matter what. Encourage yourself to do the heavy lifting. Exercise discipline and be prepared to dig your heels in. The trenches are where the real work begins.
4. Cultivate sensory acuity. Just because you create a plan—even a really good one—doesn’t mean that it’s going to work. Therefore, learn to cultivate sensory acuity by paying closer attention to the results you’re getting. Ask yourself whether you’re moving closer or farther away from your goal based on your efforts. Be honest. It’s the only way you’ll learn to connect the dots.
Sensory acuity is a muscle like any other. It becomes stronger with increased use. By sharpening your analytical skills and becoming “acutely aware,” you’ll learn to detect the devil in the details. And, believe me, high performers are intimately acquainted with the devil in the details.
Key takeaways: Coping with distractions can be challenging. But don’t be afraid to confront and overcome them. You have the power to stand up to people, situations and ideas that wreak havoc on your productivity.
Choose to be more productive and embrace productivity for the long haul.
