Applying Your Power in Everyday Magic

When you take control of your focus, you apply your power and move energy through everyday magic. That's Magic Alchemy Manifestation at its most basic level of application. When you move energy, you create change. You are blessed with free-will, which you can use to consciously design the life you desire. An everyday magic tip you can use to help shape your manifestation and energy to focus on expecting more good to come into your life no matter what. Building a high degree of enjoyment energy and not only motivation but desire energy will help you stay grounded in yourself and your own happiness.

Use your concentration and begin to direct the show. Stand in your power. Thoughts cloak themselves in emotions, but first comes the power of your thought. Recognize the habitual patterns of thoughts that affect your feelings. We can be whatever we want, we just have to decide. You are what you are today because of the choices you made over many yesterdays. Tomorrow you will be what you are creating today. Emphasize the good in Y.O.U. and others.

Think about positive qualities and they will grow. This is a secret of happiness: accept that you have to continually improve your way of thinking and feeling. Always and forever more, when you feel bad, reach for the better feeling.

Shift consciousness from one feeling to another. enjoyment energy comes from the degree of pleasure you experience from seeing, hearing, doing, feeling and imagining what you like. The level of excitement is a measure of the level of energy that feeds your expectation of more good. A decent metaphor would be that of turning yourself into a powerful magnet for good. Enjoyment energy is a straight line of Divine Design Shine. It is the most direct route to happiness.

You choose what you emphasize. Consciously make degree shifts along the pole of contrast toward the positive perception. Improve the quality of your experience. You no longer permit circumstances to dictate how you feel. Attitude is everything; it is your state of mind and feeling. How you look at the world dictates your attitude.

Your attitude dictates your circumstances. It is not what happens to you but how you see it that counts. Is your attitude helping you or hurting you? Along with the focus and energy aspects of this way, you must go beyond adaptability into recognizing the good, seeking the good, and even finding a way to create the good out of everything that happens. In this way, therefore, bad things never happen. Things may happen that you don't like, but when they do you use them as an opportunity to increase the good, in yourself or in the world.

Stop Sapping Your Energy With Self-Criticism

Self-criticism is one of the biggest time-wasters going. Why do I say that?

Well, when you're sapping your energy with self-criticism you're working from a scarcity mentality. It's like you're trying to complete a manual task with one hand tied behind your back.

Actually, it's even worse than that, because you are probably simultaneously berating yourself for not working faster and more accurately.

Indeed, self-criticism is one of the biggest time and energy wasters there is.

Self-Criticism Narrows Your World

Time is neutral - it just is. There is no value or value judgment inherent in time. Values and value judgments surface around the choices you make about your time, but they have nothing to do with time itself.

And the choices you make about your time are very important. But approaching those choices with critical energy doesn't help you make better choices. In fact, all that energy does is constrict your field of vision and narrow your range of choices.

Can you see how unhelpful that is?

Values-Driven Time Management vs. critical energy...

When it comes to making time-choices, critical energy is as debilitating as fear of scarcity. You eliminate possibilities with harsh judgments rather than with facts based on observation.

So, what would it feel like to start looking at your time choices with curiosity and excitement rather than with fear, self-criticism, and judgment?

Here's something to try... Briefly document the choices that you make each day as you manage your time. Don't judge, just document.

What factors do you weigh as you make your time choices? What actual facts emerge about your choices? How do you feel about what you observe?

Remember, don't judge or criticize, just look and see. Removing self-criticism from the equation opens up so many possibilities.

Love Is Forever (By Kathy Wilson)

My magical cat, Silver, came to me in a dream. And then he brought Jezibel to me.

When my previous cat, Miss Winters, had transitioned I grieved deeply. Friends kept calling me to tell me they knew of a cat that needed a home, but I knew I wasn't ready for another one. Had I taken on another cat before I was done grieving for Winter I would have been comparing the new cat to her. That just wouldn't be fair to the new cat.

A couple of years after Winter had died, I had a dream about a gray cat. It was as if I was laying on the floor and the cat was walking toward me. That's it. About 15 seconds of a dream, but it stayed with me all that day and the next.

Three days after the gray cat dream, a woman I knew who worked at my vet's office called me. "We have a cat in here from the shelter who's ready to be adopted and I think you should take a look at him. His name is Silver Cloud."

When she said his name I was stunned. My first thought was, "He's here already! The gray cat in my dream is here... and I don't even have any cat food or a litter box!" I made arrangements to come look at him the next day.

On my way to the vet's office I stopped to pick up a friend who wanted to go with me and see this dream cat I'd told her about. When we arrived at the vet's office, we went in and were taken to a room with huge cages. The vet's assistant pulled Silver out of one cage and gave him to me to hold. He was so excited he could hardly hold still, and kept moving from my left shoulder to my right and back again and then he'd flop backwards and look at me, almost as if he couldn't believe I was really there.

As this was going on, my friend was telling the vet and her assistant about a little black female cat she'd had but gave up because she got married and her husband hated cats. She still missed the cat deeply. The vet's assistant turned and pulled a little black cat out of another cage and handed her to my friend, probably hoping she'd fall in love with the cat and adopt it.

Before anyone could say a word, Silver spotted the little girl cat, threw himself backwards in my arms, stretched his arm out and around the little girl cat's neck and drew her toward him. He began licking her face as if he was plastering kisses all over her.

Both the vet and her assistant were stunned. "Those two cats have never seen each other," the vet finally said.

We watched the love fest for a while and finally I told them I'd take Silver and would be back the next day to pick him up, after I'd gotten cat food and other essentials.

The next day I arrived to pick up the cat of my dream, but I had a surprise coming. "We let Silver and Jezibel, the little black girl cat, stay out of their cages in the room and they played together, ate together, slept together, and basically were unseparable... and you have to take both of them," the vet announced.

"No. I only want one cat," I replied.

Well, this discussion went on for a while until finally she said, "You take both of them or you'll not get Silver. I won't even charge you for Jezibel."

And that's how I ended up with two cats.

It's been fifteen years since that day and every day I've been so grateful that the vet made me take both cats. They have loved each other as much every day since as they did that first day. They still sleep near or next to each other, eat together, have lick fests, and basically just love the dickens out of each other.

Or they did, until yesterday. Recently, Jezibel had been getting weaker, eating less and less, and beginning to have difficulty breathing. It soon got so bad that she couldn't walk across the room without having to stop to catch her breath. So I took her to the vet yesterday and the determination was that she had a tumor which was causing fluid to overfill the area around her heart and lungs, making it difficult for her to breathe. There was nothing that could be done to make her better. So my husband and I made the most difficult decision to allow the vet to put her to sleep.

I'm so very sad that I won't be able to enjoy Jezibel and the special connection we had. Still, I'm grateful that I was allowed to enjoy her for so many years. And I'm even more grateful that I could witness the deep, abiding love that she and Silver had for one another.

I believe that Silver and she had a communication toward the last about her leaving this plane. At one point he just sat next to her quietly while they looked into each other's eyes. He's not seeming to miss her - not looking for her or anything like that. I believe that when beloved pets transition, their spirit remains for a period of time. It's almost as if the pet wants to continue sharing their love for a while to help those left behind adjust to their loss. I think that Silver senses her spirit is still here... and so do I.

Remember... love is forever

As I was writing this article I was reminded of another one I wrote years ago after a dear friend had died. One day I was talking with a wise friend about my reaction and deep grief to my other friend's death. I mused upon the fact that either we're coming from love or from fear, and since this grief didn't feel like love, it must be fear of some kind. But fear of what?

She didn't disappoint and instantly gave me the wisdom I was looking for. "Grief," she said, "is the fear of lack of love."

Makes perfect sense. When someone, or some thing such as a dear pet that we love, dies then we fear that the love we shared with them dies, too. But here's the truth: Once energy is created it exists for eternity. Love, like all emotions, is energy. This means that when you lose someone or something you loved, the energy of that love still exists. And you can tap into it any time you want so you can enjoy it again.

It's easy. All you have to do is remember an instance or event with that person or thing that created the feeling of love within you. And you'll feel it again in an instant, whenever you want. And the best part is that you can never, ever lose a memory that creates the energy of love for you.

So if you feel yourself beginning to sink into the sadness of grief, remember that it's a signal to you that you're afraid you've lost love. Know that you can never lose love because it's eternal. And then recall a moment or an experience that brought you the feeling of love. As you do so, you'll feel that love energy once again.

You Are The Average Of Who You Meet & Keep In Life (By Dash Trembley)

This morning, while I was working out in the gym, I overheard a very interesting conversation that reminded me of the very wise old saying that, "you're the average of the 5 people you hang out with." So there's this man in my local gym who's always taking up one machine for long blocks of time, and I often see him on my workout days. He saw his "Gym buddy" coming over from the other end of the room and started a "conversation" with him. He complained about how much he drank the day before, and how he still feels like throwing up and that's why he's not doing his squats today. He went on incessantly.

Then "Gym buddy" joined in on complaining even more about his own current work and life on top of the man's drinking escapades yesterday. The man cut "Gym buddy" off in the middle of the conversation, realising he's not talking about him anymore and he wasn't ready to listen or provide his two cents so he invited him to go outside to take a "smoke break" instead. "Gym buddy" said to him, "I'm actually trying to quit smoking. I started yesterday." Then the man looked at him with a long disbelieving pause that was half-filled with genuine shock but I can tell he really wanted him to join him for a smoke. So "Gym buddy" made another feeble attempt to convince him once more, but this time in a much weaker tone, and he said again, "I'm serious. I'm really trying to quit." The man asked him "Why?" like it was a bad decision and foolish thing to do.

So this man started to tell him his own story about how he tried to quit for 4 (short) weeks suffering from all the most horrible withdrawal symptoms and then went back to smoking again. Even though there was no real moral or value to his story, he continued to justify and lay out all his reasons for quitting in great enthusiasm. Then "Gym buddy" turned to asked him, "Then what happened?" He simply said to him, "Nothing. I just went back to square one." "Gym buddy" paused for a split second and then said, "Fuck it, let's go." And they both started discussing about the brand of cigarettes they smoke and suggested to share and split it.

In just less than 2 minutes of sharing his experience of how he tried to quit and fail (in just 4 weeks) he has influenced and convinced someone else to give up their goal and intention in just less than 24 hours. The scary thing is, that was just an acquaintance he probably meet once a month at the gym. There was a period of time I actually preferred my customized workouts from home just so I didn't let in any chance to even come in contact with any energy that was negative. I became a "vibrational-snob".

I remember when I started my outdoor runs, (and by that, I mean my short sprints) strangers would just give me all sorts of funny looks like I lost my marbles. A few even came up to me and told me to slow down. "Don't run so fast." Perhaps it did come with good intentions, but sometimes, people who're offering you the most "opinions and advices" are the ones who're nowhere close to being happy, healthy, or abundant, to even be offering their two cents. They're usually the ones who're out of shape, emotionally, and mentally bankrupt. Can you imagine if that person was a friend or even a family member, which usually is the case, who's constantly talking you out of change? The good kind of change? Is someone in your life holding you back from becoming the best version of yourself?

Does the Law of Attraction Work?

''Be careful what you wish for'', the famous saying we all blurt out in our day to day conversations. This saying is so powerful as I associate it with the ''law of attraction'', attracting like for like. What we put out there is what we receive, do you believe in that law, that we are part of the universal matrix of energy and frequencies? The energy that we expend out there we get the same back. We are governed by laws of the universe we live in, what others may term as ''karma''. People often say they find the things they don't like manifest in their reality quicker than what they truly love. That I find is how our mindset is designed, we are creatures of fear, and let's remember, fear is an emotion as much as happiness and sadness are. We fear a lot about lack of money, no one loving us, or having a bad day. What if we program our minds to think positively? Do you think then we will attract what we love? We have to be really careful about what we say because when we instill emotion in the things we say those that we say we then attract. The flip side to this is how difficult it is to be positive when you are not in the head space or when your surroundings are not supporting the emotion.

A few years ago I purchased the renowned ''The Secret'' book to try and understand how the law of attraction works and to also aid me in shifting my mindset. I began to understand that we can create our own reality and our own heaven. I am from a Christian background and growing up I was taught that when we die we either go to heaven (if we're good) or we go to hell! I lived my life according to that rule, until I went through some life experiences that led me to searching for ''my truth''. I came to realize that I am my own creator of the reality I want to live in, I can create and enjoy heaven, while I'm still on this earth. To live life to the fullest and live a life of peace, abundance and positivity all governed by the greatest law of all, ''Love''. By living your life to the fullest with love and positivity, everything around you will support a beautiful reality. I have not reached that ultimate state of living, I am a work in progress and living day to day reminding myself that I am a co creator of my reality. What are the steps we need to take in order to lead a fulfilling reality?

Firstly It starts with us, our inner being, the soul within us. Being of a mind that is free from judging, free from negative influences, that's not to say we are free from life struggles. It is important to recognize how we deal with the hiccups that are thrown our way. I remember how I used to struggle with slow drivers in front of me, that used to annoy me so much I'd be cursing in my car, winding myself up and getting agitated, guess what? The more I got annoyed the more I had slow driver occurrences. After reading and getting to understanding the law of attraction I realized I was actually attracting more of this so I decided to switch my mindset and accepting of the slow drivers, sometimes acting as if I wasn't noticing them, I slowly started noticing It wasn't happening as much as it used to before. I became more patient and accepting that the driver in front of me, had as much right to be in that place at that given time.

Believing in your self worth, valuing your being and loving yourself are key to finding your higher self and attracting the things you desire. This is no magic, it is something each and every one of us is entitled to. Spread your wings and discover your potential and most of all, love yourself more than you've ever loved!

When Is It EVER Going To Happen?

There's something that you want. Perhaps you've wanted it for a long time. You want it REALLY badly. But it STILL hasn't shown up and you're asking yourself, "Is it EVER going to happen?!?!"

Author Paris Johnson went exactly through this. She felt anxious, discouraged and frustrated. She felt stuck. After working so long and hard toward her goal of becoming a recognized expert in her field, nothing seemed to manifest. WHY?

Here's the thing. When we're feeling stuck, it's never the situation that has become stuck. It's our energy that's stuck. While we've been putting part of our energy toward manifesting what we want, another part of our energy contradicts the vibration of what we want. We cannot manifest from this place because we aren't a vibrational match to our desire.

This was Paris' frustration. She wanted to make a difference. She wanted to reach the people who needed her influence. But it Just. Wasn't. Happening.

The universe is impersonal. It responds only to our vibration - wherever we focus our energy. If part of us is focused on what we want, and another part is focused on what we don't want, or on what's lacking, we can't manifest what we DO want. It's like a tug of war, with opposing energies pulling at both ends. Our vibration is contradicting itself and nothing can move forward. What we want stays in the unmanifested world of wants.

So what did Paris do? The secret was to focus on raising the frequency of her vibration. The higher her vibration, the more powerfully she was able to manifest her dreams and desires. And you can do the same!

We often ask "When is it EVER going to happen?" But our manifestations don't usually happen on a linear timeline. They usually happen when we align with a higher vibration that allows our manifestation to come TO us.

Behind the scenes: When you're feeling stuck, it isn't the situation that's become stuck... it's your energy that's stuck, from the trigger of negative emotions that can come from past hurts and traumas.

In other words, it isn't the pain of the situation; it's the pain of not being connected to the natural positive energy of who you really are... a creative vibrational being who can use positive energies to create what you want and bring it into the physical. Part of this process is to invite your manifestations to materialize, and not get stuck in the negative vibrations that block them.

How to Boost Your Self-Esteem When You're Having a Bad Day

What is it about a bad day that can take the wind out of your sails and make you feel so drained?

Your mindset controls your moods and hence your level of energy. How a bad day is labeled as 'bad' - is completely due to your internal language. Bad days often begin with things happening that were not expected (for instance, missing a train, breaking a bag, misplacing keys) and these things can create a mindset that things are not going to go well today. As you focus on all the things that begin to go wrong, your level of agitation and frustration rises and this drains your energy. In addition your internal language becomes more negative and self critical - which can result in further energy depletion and even depression.

Some of the common symptoms after a bad day

Do you ever feel drained, hopeless, or unmotivated? One of the common emotional responses to a bad day are feelings of hopelessness. One of the most common thoughts are that nothing is going to go right. Poor motivation then sets in because you feel you have been kicked whilst trying to get up and hence self protection sets in - to avoid further disappointment.

Someone with a higher self-esteem will see the bad day for what it is - just a bad day where things didn't go their way. However, with less resilience many people start to feel defeated as a result of a negative series of events and subsequently need something good to occur to shake them out of their negative mindset. An example of this might be, that whilst travelling on the train that was running late, a little toddler begins to laugh so loudly, you can't help but start laughing too.

So what are your fun and helpful tips you could use to rebound after a bad day?

One of the easiest and most simple things you can do to shake off your bad mood, is to try to find the ridiculous humour in the day. Find ways to laugh at how crazy the series of events have been and try to find the funny side if possible. If the day has been particularly bad, remind yourself that every day offers the opportunity for a new beginning. Remember to focus on what went right today.

It's often easy to see things through a negative filter and to assume nothing went right. However, this is rarely accurate. By putting the day into perspective and reminding yourself that you can always make things better, you can let the bad day go and start fresh tomorrow. The key is to regain control of your thinking patterns, so that you feel hopeful and in control on your day ahead once more.

Are You A Self-Doubter?

While working with a client I had an epiphany about the depth and breadth of self-doubt versus trust and faith.

Some people trust themselves implicitly and conversely some people have self-doubt or second-guess themselves. Respectively, those who trust themselves implicitly might have difficulty trusting the Laws of the Universe. And those who doubt themselves sometimes can seemingly have implicit trust in the Laws of the Universe.

I used the word, 'seemingly,' because there is a disclaimer clause for those who believe in implicit trust of the Laws of the Universe or trusting themselves implicitly. Some people have full trust and faith in themselves and the Laws of the Universe.

The disclaimer in the fine print is quite explicit. When one doubts oneself, one also has hidden doubts about the Laws of the Universe. Maybe, just maybe the Laws of the Universe don't work 100%; 100% of the time.

Those who have implicit trust and faith in themselves, sometimes lack complete trust and faith in the Laws of the Universe. Thus, those who have complete trust in themselves carry some hidden self-doubt.

The Laws of the Universe are all inter-related and are grounded on the understanding that everything in the universe is energy, including humans, and that energy moves in a circular fashion. At the microscopic level, humans are a whirling mass of electrons and energy atoms spinning rapidly. In fact, everything in the world is composed of energy and humans are intimately connected with this sea of energy, the sea of whirling electrons.

The reason this is true is that our beliefs, thoughts, feelings, words and actions are all forms of energy What we believe, think, feel, say and do in each moment comes back to us to create our reality. Energy moves in a circle, so that what goes around comes around--a.k.a. Dharma and Karma.

When one doubts oneself, one has some hidden doubt with the Laws of the Universe, because one is part of the Laws of the Universe. Therefore, although one believes one is in complete trust and faith with the Laws of the Universe, one is blind to one's intimate slice of the energy that comprise the Laws of the Universe. Conversely, if one has complete trust in oneself, but, not in the Laws of the Universe, one is blind to one's intimate slice of the energy that one needs to be connected with in order to be in the flow with the Universal energy.

The exciting news is, because our beliefs, thoughts, feelings, words and actions create the world around us, we have the power to create a world of complete self-confidence and oneness with the Laws of the Universe. Thus, we can create peace, harmony and abundance. In order to do this, it is essential that we learn to be fully conscious of our beliefs, thoughts, feelings, words and actions.

That followed with this: When I doubt myself, I have some hidden doubt with the Universe, because I am part of the Universe. Thus, the same applies to you. Because you have difficulty with Trust and Faith in the Universe you also have some self-doubt.

My conscious thoughts: We [you and I] have been in many life times together. We both came into this life to complete our respective missions. Me to learn to stop doubting myself and you to have Trust and Faith in the Universe. Who better to mirror these aspects of ourselves to each other than YOU to ME and ME to YOU?

And do you have the sense that Trust and Faith is the piece that is preventing you from creating your desires-financial freedom, happiness, success, and dreams?

It's time to SHIFT and get prepared for what's coming up for your life... so I want you to put your heart and soul into paying close attention to how much mental, emotional and physical pain you are in. Then, step by step you can make the SHIFT gently, easily, and without having to deal with the mental and emotional pain and stress of not knowing what to do, not feeling your best, and all the other OLD WAYS that are holding you back.

You might need to ask for assistance.

I want your daily feeling of being overwhelmed to be replaced with a feeling of freedom throughout your day. I look forward to giving you the tools to help you conquer the every-day fears that hold you back.

Here's to living your dream life NOW.

There is no shame in asking for assistance to create happiness and success. If you have read the books, taken workshops, had psychic readings, taken prescriptions and OTC drugs etc. and still struggle; you might have emotional blocks preventing you from moving into your happiness and desires.

You might need to ask for assistance to clear out the self-doubt, fear, guilt, shame or unworthiness.

This is an investment in your health, happiness, success, fulfillment, and empowerment. Following the principles in this process will change your life forever and I want you to experience it yourself as soon as possible. Remember only you can take care of your happiness and mental, emotional, physical health and professional success.

Passion Is The Fuel Human Beings Use

Children focus fiercely on everything they do while doing it. Nothing else exists. The world is just them and whatever it is that they are doing at that moment: the game they are playing, the movie they are watching, the toy they are holding... And with that focus comes passion, their inexhaustible source of energy. But then we grow...

As we grow, our attention is divided into a million needs and tasks. We rarely just do one single thing at a time and most of what we do doesn't even require our full attention. We learn to shift our focus from one problem to the next, from one action to the next or back to the previous one. We forget the art of just being totally immersed in only one task, in flow with it, unaware and uncaring about anything else. And as we do, our energy spreads to feed and fuel that myriad of smaller actions we undertake. No wonder why we never feel energetic enough anymore!

Passion is the fuel for human energy. We see it in children but also in those few adults who still maintain their passion for what they do. Have you ever met anybody truly passionate about something who complains of a lack of energy? Just the opposite, right? Those you meet who seem to never tire are profoundly passionate about what they do. Without passion, energy dwindles and it does so because passion requires focus so the three go together and feed one another: passion, focus, energy.

Many people come to me because they feel exhausted and without energy or because they can't perform at the level they see me or others performing. 'What's your secret?' they ask me. 'How can you have so much energy?' The answer is my passion. I passionately love what I do: I passionately love writing and speaking, interacting with other human beings, getting to know them... I passionately love being alive. When those people come to me, they never have a passion of their own and without it, there is no focus.

Think about it for a moment. Look back onto your childhood or just observe children at play. When playing, nothing else exists; just the game. Do you remember that feeling of utter concentration and devotion? That is what you're missing. You go to work but are you fully there? I bet you aren't. Or you only are for short bouts of time. That's why those who professionally devote themselves to their passion never look tired. Unfortunately, most human beings just have a job, not a passion. Most people just do their jobs or pursue their career not because it's a passion for them but for many other reasons. They might choose certain studies based on the greater probabilities to find a job later on, or the amount of money they will bring them, or who knows what. And that is OK, as long as they also realize that days will feel long and boring and will always be accompanied by that perennial feeling of exhaustion.

I feel like this is a rule of life: passion transforms into energy; a lack of passion results in a lack of energy. As simple as that. If you want to feel more energetic in life, you're going to have to change the way you live to find more passion or to create more opportunities to feel passionate about something.

Let me offer you some tips on how to turn a job into something you might feel passionate for. (You can also quit your current job and follow your passion, if you have one, of course, but this next section is for those who already have a job, no specific passion and can't just shift careers at present.) So, if you are a manager in a company, for example, and feel like working days completely drain you of your energy,

  1. ask yourself what in your job sparks your passion... Nothing? Very little? Why doesn't it surprise me? Let's try and create or ignite some passion in you, then.
  2. go over the list of tasks you perform on a regular week and try and find something in them that you could eventually feel passionate about; human interaction, reaching excellence, being the best at one aspect of your work, creativity, productivity... or maybe even reaching the next wrung in the ladder... whatever. Once you find it, start devoting your full attention to that goal on incremental steps: first 10 minutes a day, then 15, then 20, and so on. Those minutes need to be like children at play, absolutely focused and devoted. If distracted, go back to the task and focus on the positives it brings you. Think about what it is you enjoy about them, how they make you feel, what is is that interests you when performing them. Focus on them at the moment, not on what they might bring in the future.
  3. while performing other tasks that are not the ones you identified as possible sources of passion, try to focus your full attention on each of them while carrying them out; a bit like mindful working. When changing tasks, shift your full attention to the new task at hand.
  4. If you can't seem to be able to fully focus on something, ask yourself what part of that specific task is distracting you, or which other task is so important that it keeps calling your attention onto it. Focus on that one aspect or task, get it out of the way, so to speak, and go back to focusing on one task at a time.
  5. Once you feel a spark of passion for any of the tasks you perform, no matter how big or small, look for similar tasks in your job or possible new developments related to that one task that could open new avenues or result in more opportunities to do what you just discovered you love doing. If necessary, talk to your superiors and let them know about your passion. Managers know that passionate employees always yield better results, so chances are they might give you a few more shots at advancing along those lines.
  6. if nothing you do at work sparks your passion at all, apply all 5 points above to your personal life... what do you do outside of work that sparks your passion? And focus on those instead, to build a life of meaning and energy for yourself.

So, do you have any passions in your life? What gets you excited or moving? Use that! Because a life without passion is like a movie in slow motion; nice and fun to watch for a short while but quite boring after a while.

Enjoy life... ALL of it,

What a Hippie Taught Me About Feeling Energetic

I like dancing when there's a point to it. For example, I spent many years learning swing dancing. It's great fun and I was always up for a dance or two.

But the dancing you do in nightclubs - where everyone just sort of flails around - isn't for me. I feel awkward and self-conscious. There's only so much bopping and twisting you can take before it gets boring.

I think part of it is the partnership in swing dancing. It's a special language between the lead and follow that combines to create something special.

Anyway, I was at a meditation workshop slash concert slash party. It priced out the dirty hippies, leaving only cool people who were eager to connect with something inside. The guy leading the chanting and instruments was super chill - liquid relaxation in a human-sized bottle. He drew everyone into this calm, focused and awesome state.

He could have left us there.

Oh, no. He had bigger plans.

We're all laying about, getting into the groove like it's the '60s or something. Everyone is flopping about, blitzed out and half-comatose. We're all on the same level: this hippy's level.

So then he starts chanting and playing with a bit more energy. It builds a little at a time. Soon we're all standing around and swaying.

Everyone is still totally chill.

But he doesn't stop. He dials up the energy again. Then a little more.

We're all bouncing around, jumping around, still feeling pretty relaxed about everything.

Like clockwork, his chanting goes up another level. The instruments follow his lead.

Everyone is up, dancing and having a great time. The stamping of 90 people resonates through the wooden floorboards, kicking up dust.

The hippy's volume and energy go up again.

And again.

Everyone is loving this. We're all jumping, flailing, dancing like there's nothing else in the world.

And the music gets louder. And faster. The intensity goes up.

We go mental.

I haven't danced like that before and I doubt I will again. The loud rhythm rips through the crowd. Everyone is MOVING.

And just when I think 'this is it, it can't go any higher', it does. Of course it does. The escalation has its own rhythm and it will not be denied.

That is how I spent the dying hours of 2017. No regrets, would lose myself in the crowd and music again.

Even while it was happening, some part of me was aware of this hippie's genius. The way he worked a crowded room is exactly how you can control your own energy levels.

1) Get in sync.

2) Settle everything to a calm baseline.

3) Crank the volume.

This is why meditation is so powerful: it does the first two things so well and clears your mind for the third. If you think meditation calms you, it does. And it is only through calmness that you can find your energy.

The Dangers of Stress and How To Manage It

This is a state of mental or emotional strain or suspense. The body functions in a cyclical manner. There are periods when it functions at a peak and there are periods when it needs to rest and replenish its energies to face more challenges of future activities. Through relaxation, the body is reenergized. It is then able to restore the brain processes of focusing attention and performing subtle cognitive and social tasks.

A lot of stress in our lives causes great havoc to our body system. Some of the negative effects of stress are:

i. Muscular tension-

This is the physical condition of stretching or overworking the muscles. The muscles, like machines, needs time to rest to replenish their energies to work for the body. If this break or rest is denied it, it puts a strain on it and can cause its breakdown. If this does not even happen, the efficiency of the muscles will be drastically reduced and the individual will start experiencing short term sicknesses. A long-term effect may have serious consequences such as stroke or render the individual paralyzed.

ii. The reduction of the flow of energy-

Stress causes the body to lose a greater quantity of energy to undertake its activities. This weakens the immune system which is supposed to protect the body from foreign substances and pathogenic organisms. This makes it very easy for the individual to be attacked by diseases.

iii. The feelings of fatigue-

Fatigue is a temporary loss of strength and energy resulting from hard physical or mental work. It is boredom that results from overexposure to work. When this occurs, the individual begins to experience tiredness which can be disastrous to his health. Working in this state can cause a person to commit serious mistakes in the course of work.

iv. The reduction of flexibility and range of motion in the body joints-

Stress can also cause the joints of the body to be stiff and may cause it not to enjoy its natural flexible manner of working. This reduces its speed of work resulting in the individual slowing his or her pace of work. It can cause the person to lose his employment because he works below the standards and expectation of his employers and thereby affecting his mental health.

v. Strain and injury-

Strain and injury are the visible end products of stress. The victim of stress usually exerts himself or herself too much to be able to perform even a simple task. If the task to be performed is physical in nature, the stresses person vigorously attends to the work resulting in injury. Stress has been the cause of numerous accidents, injuries and in some cases death in workshops, firms, industries and on our roads. Therefore, do not yourself good and maintain your healthy lifestyle by taking a rest or relaxation whenever you feel stressed up.

Stress is part of humans because we all toil to make ends meet and to take care of our families. There is, therefore, the need to manage stress. Stress can be managed through deep relaxation and massage.

i. Deep relaxation - a way of resting and enjoying yourself. It helps in keeping away from external detractions and to restore the lost energies that the body needs to function effectively.

ii. Massaging/touch therapy - the act of pressing and rubbing the body manually with the hands or mechanically with a machine, to help them relax or to reduce pain in the muscles or joints.

A creative person has to use his/her own imagination to come out with something new. He needs to have critical thinking, innovative and problem-solving skills. When the body is stressed up, fatigue sets in and critical thinking etc. are affected. This makes it very difficult for the creative person to come out with fresh original ideas. The artist should not get stressed up in any way since it can affect his abilities to create or bring new things into existence.

The Magic Formula For More Life, More Good & More Energy

Don't we all wish to have more energy, more life and more good in our lives? And as we get older, we find that we seem to be experiencing less and less of it. But it really doesn't have to be so.

I am always asked this question, how do you manage to keep up and have so much energy -- doing so much, and doing what you do? Let me share my little secret with you,

I have lived by this simple formula for decades now, since the days I overcame my addictions. This magic formula has helped me to have more energy, maintained my youthfulness, given me more life despite everything.

FORMULA FOR LIFE: Life-Giving Activities > Life Sucking Activities

Simple right?

Now, putting it into practice means you need to know what are the things in your life that are life-giving, and what is life sucking. You have 24 hours each day to make sure that you tilt the balance towards life-giving stuff.

Here's a simple list of things that are life-giving to give you an idea: meditation, healthy whole foods, deep breathing, walks in nature, playtime, reading, relaxing, massage, working on your purpose, exercising, lots and lots of water, dietary supplements, be with positive people, dreamwork, gardening, positive conversation, positive self talk, smiles, working with a therapist, study and etc.

Here's a list of things that are life-sucking: complaining, gossiping, sugar-laden chocolate cake, alcohol, late nights, lack of sleep, lack of exercise, not drinking water, processed food, drifting in life, negative self-talk, mindless TV watching/gaming, anger, being around toxic people, reading trashy content, popping pills unnecessarily, not breathing properly, bad posture and etc.

I think you have an idea of what I mean just by looking at the above two paragraphs. Now, I am not saying that it is not OK to indulge in that chocolate cake. What I am saying is that you need to practice mindfulness that you are tilting the balance towards more positive things in your 24 hour day. So if you want to eat that chocolate cake, make sure you also exercise and drink lots and lots of water on the same day!

If you spend 8 hours being with negative people constantly complaining and gossiping with them, guess how more hours you need to work on meditating, positive self-talk and working on your mindset? Yup! It is self-explanatory. So the goal for each and every day is to make sure you have more life-giving activities.

Day by day you will 'build a reserve' so to speak of more energy, more life and more good. Learn to say no to things and people, learn to keep clearer boundaries with others, learn to know when to switch off.

If you don't want life to suck, then stop giving too much of your time and energy on things that rob you of life. By keeping a focus on things that energise you and give you life, you will have a greater ability to see love, feel love, experience light and be the light!

An Explanation of "What Comes Around, Goes Around" Really Means

Are you intrigued by the title? Do you know what it relates? For an understanding in depth, read on.

All emotions like love, smile, laugh, cry and anger carry energy. You are an abundance of one of these energies at a particular moment and you pass on those vibes to others.

These vibes spread from community to community, the whole city, the whole nation and even start trespassing to the rest of the world.

So what comes around to people from you as an individual goes all around the earth. Knowing how badly it affects everyone, wouldn't you care to smile more and be full of optimism no matter what your current situation is. After all you do care about making the world a happier place to live in and surprising enough it all starts with you.

The next time you meet people, pass on good vibes to them, playing and laughing with them. Immediately the happy vibes reach across and spread and everybody automatically feels happier.

Start with your own family. Be empathetic, soft, caring and loving towards your spouse and children. They will be happy and feel loved and spread those vibes on to the people they come across.

That's how you make a difference in a positive way in your world. It all starts small and ends up big. In fact, what comes around, goes around.
