Fun Release of Negative Critical Thoughts About Yourself With EFT

We all berate ourselves from time to time. Some of us more than others. And constant negative self-talk cannot be helpful for our self-esteem and self-confidence. You can try noticing next time you hear a critical voice inside your head. Be aware of what it is saying to you, and let us diffuse it with EFT.

EFT, short for Emotional Freedom Techniques, has the power to release emotional blocks completely. It does this by a specific combination of stimulation of acupressure points along with releasing wording. So EFT is great at diffusing and dissolving negative self-talk!

Write down 5 negative or critical thoughts and messages you hear inside your head. If you cannot think of 5, make them up. EFT works great in this way. And if there are too many of them, the 5 that come to your mind first are the right ones to work with.

Remember who said the first message to you. See what they look like, then draw a picture of them in your mind or on paper that looks totally comical. For example, a man can wear a frilly dress and impossibly high heels - with leg hair. A woman can wear a clown's outfit or wear a silly prison outfit with stripes and shackles on her arms and legs.

Next, write out a response that counteracts their message. Make the counter messages as strong and self-assured for you as you can.

If you're having trouble writing out counter messages, just write out what a friend would say to defend themselves under the same circumstances.

Then measure the discomfort of this statement from 1-0 and simply tap as follows:

  1. Setup: "I want to release the hold this statement has on me". Reminder: "I want to safely let it go, one step at a time".
  2. Now, tap on all the points you normally use, whilst repeating the ridiculously-dressed person saying that statement to you.
  3. Next, tap on all the points you normally use, whilst repeating the answer you have ready for this ridiculously-dressed person.
Repeat step 1-3 until the statement means nothing to you.

Then repeat with the other 5 statements.

Does that feel better, or does that feel better? Enjoy!

And if you are an EFT practitioner yourself, maybe you can do workshops about dissolving negative self-talk. Free more people. Spread the healing word! Trust in the healing and trust that you have done your best. Our best often sets many people free and happy.
