How to Ease Frustration When Things Just Won't Go Your Way

Have you ever felt frustrated about things not going your way? Sometimes we get in the way of God's plan and not pay attention to it but rather attempt harder to make the plan go our way. What can be done to ease the frustration? Read on to find out.

Here are a few pointers to ease the frustration:

  1. Stop searching for material things for the time being. Choose to be happy and breathe in and out for a few minutes. Let go of what is bothering you and remain happy.
  2. Try to walk around the block and buy yourself a cup of Star Bucks coffee from the coffee corner. The fresh air outside, along with the coffee, will do you good.
  3. Let your emotions run. Have a good cry. Cry yourself to sleep. When you wake up, you will have more energy and vigor.
  4. Make yourself spaghetti and call your neighbor to join you. Laugh and joke about trifle things. You will be distracted and therefore, feel better after he leaves.
  5. Sing aloud, "I go my own sweet way". In case you don't know the rest of the lines, that's okay. Just sing the line and repeat in a tune you like. And you will have the feeling you are on top of the world.
  6. You may also play a tune for the line, "I go my own sweet way" on the piano and sing as well for some time and feel a lot better, easing your frustration.
  7. Meditate peacefully and quietly for some time. Observe your thoughts moment to moment until you quiet your mind and start breathing in and out. After you do so for 10-15 minutes, you will find yourself a lot calmer and happier.
  8. If you don't want to meditate, pray and recite the Holy Book. There is power in your prayers and recitation of the Holy Book. After you are done with both, you feel so refreshed, strong and energetic.
  9. Share your concerns with a best friend, mentor or someone you really trust. See how that goes. More often than not, it will help you to look at your worry in a brighter light and perspective and you will have reason to smile.
Summing up, these are some of the ways you can soothe yourself down when things just won't go your way. Just pick one or two that speak to you and implement them in reality. Your frustration will relax and may even disappear. You will be in a better position to make happier choices and therefore, thrive high.
