23 Keys to Happiness


1. Be grateful and thankful. Write down all the things you are thankful for. Big things. Small things. Anything and everything you can think of that you are thankful for, write them down and focus on them. This is one of the most effective ways to combat depression.

2. Take a walk through a beautiful, scenic area you know of.

3. Work out. Lift weights.

4. Meditate.

5. Go on a long drive.

6. Have an orgasm.

7. Have something to look forward to.

8. Surround yourself with your favorite people.

9. Read something inspirational.

10. Accomplish something.

11. Take a James Bond shower, which is a regular shower at your desired temperature followed by 5 minutes of showering in ice cold water. There are many benefits to this.

12. Drink lemon water.

13. Eat something healthy.

14. Have coffee.

15. Remember good memories and think back reliving each moment as if they were happening right now.

16. Write down compliments people have given you and nice things people have said to you. File them away. Read them when you are down to feel better.

17. Go through the goal-setting process.

18. Spend time with animals or your pets.

19. If you do not have access to animals, watch a video that people say is "cute" which features animals. Studies have shown that doing this can alleviate depression and make people happier.

20. If you ever get down, go to the wall of a Facebook friend of yours who is known for posting hilarious things and scroll down their wall and have a good laugh. The fact that you know them and are responding this positively to something they said will not only make you feel better because you are laughing, but will cause you to recognize just how much you appreciate them and are thankful they are in your life and you will feel better as a result.

21. Get your hopes up. Many people would say that the best way to avoid disappointment is to not get your hopes up. The disappointment you may feel if you do indeed look forward to something and are let down is worth the good feelings experienced from being optimistic, even if you do not get what you wanted to receive.

22. Do something nice for someone else. Just knowing you made someone else's day, will make you feel a lot better, especially if they thank you for your good deed.

23. Ask for encouragement. Talk to a family member or friend who you know cares about you and tell them what you are going through and ask them for words to lift your spirits. When you are down, it is important to have good friends who can help you pick yourself up when you aren't your best.
