Comparison Can Be an Evil Thing

Women Comparing Yoga Mats

Do you find you compare yourself to others?

When you do so, do you find you fall short?

Consistently?

It's so easy with all the noise of the internet and the so-called smaller global marketplace to continually compare yourself with the rest of the world. It's so easy to feel everything in your space has already been done.

Who needs another (fill in the blank) you ask yourself.

Why would anyone turn to me when so and so does it so well and is so readily available and well known? What do I really have to offer that's unique and special?

Have you entertained those thoughts or ones just like them? We all do.

It's easy to spin out and spiral down into fear and despair about what you believe you're not able to do, or able to do well. It's just not true.

You have a unique and special contribution to make to your field.

You can reach people because of who you are and how you move in the world, how you approach what you do that I PROMISE YOU is unique to you and needed by someone - likely MANY someones.

Our inner critic gets way more 'air time' than our inner champion.

What could you say to yourself to replace the negative, critical thoughts when they arise?

When you think there's no room for you and what you offer isn't needed, what would it be like to say ____________ (fill in your first name), you are uniquely talented and have so much to offer. Please make sure that you reach out - there is someone out there who needs you, who needs exactly what you have.

How would that make you feel?

Do you see how when you shift the energy around the ideas, the heaviness begins to lift?

If you don't feel it immediately, that's OK.

Keep replacing your negative thoughts with positive affirmations. Watch as the universe steps in to fill the space you've created with your belief. Even your newly budding, not quite certain belief that doesn't have strong roots - YET!
Someone else is Already doing that!

For some reason there is a mis-understanding that your 'unique' thing has to be original that no one else has done it before. That is nearly impossible and a real step to failure. In reality, there is a very little that hasn't been done somewhere that someone else has not done before you.

And the thing is the actual-best truth is you are the expert in exactly what you do. I'm here to tell you that you have unique gifts and talents that no one else possesses. No one else will get it quite like you neither will nor devote as much heart and soul and talent to the way you do things. Plain and simple.

So if you're competing with Average Joe to be the same, do the same, have the same amount, then you've already lost.

You have something to say, important work to accomplish and your voice and your contributions matter. Not only do they matter, but the world will be well served by hearing what you have to contribute. It is your job to be You and play to your uniqueness and be distinct in what you have to offer.

Learn to become your own best friend and most powerful champion. It will change your life in positive ways you can't even imagine.

You'll feel lighter, more hopeful and more at ease.

Good allows flow from ease.

Don't you owe it to yourself to be kind to you?

Watch the comparisons and work to replace them with positive new beliefs and see your life unfold and blossom in miraculous new ways.

Believe that you are important, necessary, gifted and loved. Now put that belief into action in your world. Be brave, be bold, step in.
