THE SURPRISING WAY MONEY AFFECTS YOUR RELATIONSHIP

Here's a fun game - guess what the number one thing that couples argue about is?

Yep, that's right - it's all about the money, baby (followed closely by leaving wet towels on the floor. OK, not really but it's so annoying when men do that!).
According to a recent Harris Interactive poll of over 1,000 adults, finances are the most common source of fighting among couples - provoking on average three arguments per month.

But here's the real (and much more exciting) news. In a new survey by Money magazine, 56 percent of men who earn the same or less than their partners reported having a 'hot' or 'very good' sex life, compared to just 43 percent of husbands who out-earn their wives. Score!
So, what's going on?
According to Alix Fox, Durex Real Feel Sexpert, there are a number of reasons why this might be the case. 'Traditional (and outdated, sexist) societal models suggest that men should be the main breadwinners in a household; if they’re not, they may feel they have to compensate by contributing to the relationship in other ways, such as becoming more skilled lovers.'
'However many men are simply more attracted to ambitious, high-achieving women,' she adds. 'They don’t find their partner’s success intimidating or emasculating. Instead, they desire and thus foster more balanced relationships. If they view their wives as equals, they’re more likely to practice good communication and fairer give-and-take in their interactions.'
Whatever the reason, we think this is great news for women because as Mad Men's January Jones so eloquently announced last week on Instagram - #bitchesbebossesnow. Couldn't have said it better ourselves, really.
